He's not wrong, is the thing!

Iruma has shown time and time again that he is not only willing but actively invested in changing the lives of the demons around him. While we as the audience know that he has only the best of intentions, we can't deny that he is changing the netherworld and it's culture to his whims.

He is a threat to the current netherworld.

(Funny how that's exactly what we were told the demon king does, huh?)

But I think it's specially telling that it is Narnia, who we know is a "return to origins" supporter, who is so opposed to Iruma's entire existence in the netherworld.

Iruma, who is so in love with the demon realm but is also an outsider and so can see the faults in it and also act on them, is very much the embodiment of progress in the netherworld.

"It's just the way things are" or "That's how things should be" doesn't work on Iruma.

But that's exactly what "return to origins" is.

All of the current members of the "return to origins gang" have one thing in common, and that is that they hate the current demon realm. They want things to go back to how they were. They are stuck on an idealized vision of the past.

And that's all the current power struggle in the demon realm is about.

It's a conflict of the future vs the past.

I’m so proud of my son! Look at him! I am basic and the zero to hero story ALWAYS gets me. Iruma going from feeling like a powerless victim to ambitious young lad is so good. It’s definitely interesting how much more demon-like he becomes as the story progresses with him gaining values more like theirs while retaining vital human values. I’m very surprised how much I liked this manga. I ended up starting the anime on a whim and now I’m hooked. Out of nowhere this dude just got into my top 10 favorite protagonists.

Boy really said to Beezlebub give me my friends rn. He knows what he wants. You have a boy who’s selfless to a fault learning to think for himself ooh. This is something that’s always difficult to write well and honestly I think the writer really nailed giving Iruma genuine greed (like not just the haha he eats a lot) without making him unlikable. Him getting Soi out of his shell was great. His newfound confidence and ambition allows him to get through to him which ultimately helps Soi be happy with his classmates.

I almost hollered at him showing pride. It’s very specifically not the toxic kind but rather the kind that keeps you honest. AKA not compromising and taking the easy road. Also Iruma is taking an action that will not only make the club stand out but him too and this doesn’t bother him at all unlike during the original event. There’s some earlier instances but I just got done binging the manga so the most recent instance is the one that’s on my mind.

I feel like if handled by a lesser writer than adding these traits to Iruma could have made him unlikable but it’s the opposite here. Like I love Iruma now more than ever. I want nothing but the best for him. He’s growing up so much. It shows how traits that are generally portrayed as almost always a negative thing can be good for someone in moderation.

This was some king shit. What a legend. He really just BTFOed the despair based ideologies in a few sentences. This kid has suffered through a lot and is going to do something about it.

He becomes one to jump to fight without hesitation when there’s danger rather than avoiding danger at all costs. Like before he would try just talking but he’s much more willing to throw hands now and I’m all for it.

Sullivan’s monologue here got me. Like this is me. This is how I feel.

Also they are his real family and there’s no buts about it. Sometimes a family is a grandpa, his butler, and a child.

The moment Iruma breathes again, you finally break.

He’s coughing, weakly, curled in on himself after being pulled from the wreckage of the collapsed training hall. The dust still hangs in the air like a fog, glowing faintly under the emergency magic lights. He’s covered in bruises and grime, his shirt torn, a cut trailing crimson down his arm. But he’s alive.

You drop to your knees beside him, hands trembling as you cradle his face.

“Iruma—Iruma, sweetheart, look at me, please,” your voice cracks, but he blinks blearily at you.

“Mom...?”

You don’t even mean to start crying. It just happens, a gasp lodging in your throat as you press him against your chest, arms wrapped tight around him like you can anchor him to this plane with sheer force of love.

“You’re okay. You’re okay. Oh my stars, you’re okay,” you whisper, over and over, rocking slightly as the adrenaline crashes out of you. “I thought—I thought I lost you. I couldn’t find you. I heard it collapse, and I ran, and—” Your breath stutters. “I couldn’t lose you too.”

Iruma’s small hands fist weakly in your shirt. “I’m sorry,” he whispers, voice hoarse. “I didn’t mean to scare you…”

“No. No, baby, this isn’t your fault. Don’t you dare say sorry.” You pull back just enough to cup his cheeks again, thumbs brushing away dirt and tears. “You’re allowed to be in danger. But I’m allowed to lose my mind about it, because I love you, Iruma. I love you so much.”

His eyes go wide—like he doesn’t quite know what to do with that.

You take a deep, shaky breath and press a kiss to his forehead. “We’re going to the infirmary. And then I’m going to check on you every five minutes for the rest of your life.”

Iruma lets out a small laugh, then winces, and you’re back to full-on fussing. “Don’t move too fast. You might be hurt worse than we can see. I’m getting help—no, wait, don’t panic, I’m not leaving you, just—someone get me a healer!”

Even once the medics arrive, you stay at his side, never letting go of his hand. And for days afterward, you keep drifting into his room just to see him breathe, to make sure he’s really still there.

And Iruma, at first confused, eventually begins to smile each time you do. Because maybe, just maybe, he’s starting to believe he really is someone worth worrying over.

More Genshin + Honkai Star Rail Sims 4 shenanigans because what else would I talk about?

- Aglaea finally got proper cc for her so here's a before and after:

- Ifa is an alcoholic and has gone to work (as a veterinarian ofc) drunk at least 3 times.

- Boothill asked Aventurine to fuck (while their son was in the room btw) and they were halfway to the location when they both suddenly got really sad and just stopped in their tracks before leaving to go cry.

- I have spent about three IRL days at least trying to fix Itto and Furina's marriage. It's Itto's fault, by the way.

- The Robin and Furina beef is even worse now. I still have zero idea where it came from!

- Ei fucking died while I was in a different household, therefore I couldn't fix it or revive her immediately.

- Misha is the one taking care of Sparkle's pet cat.

- Venti/Zhongli/Mavuika and Razor/Gaming/Freminet are now both polycules.

- Sampo adopted a dog. Granted, it's not necessarily Sampo's dog, it could be Sunday, Robin, Firefly, or Wonweek's. But I'm electing to say it's Sampo's dog because it genuinely looks like it doesn't have a brain.

- Razor and Gaming are now teen parents. Because of course, leave it to Razor to be the character that doesn't know how to use a condom.

- Arlecchino keeps autonomously adopting children. I swear we're up to like 6 now. She clearly loves expanding the Hearth. I've had to put them all in a separate household on their own.

- These faces. That's it, that's the post.

- 2/3 of Ifa's vets at his clinic are literal furries. No, not characters with animal ears, I mean actual ACTUAL furries.

- I'm convinced that Ei reincarnated as Razor and Gaming's son. IMMEDIATELY after she died the boy was born, and guess what his name was set to autonomously? RAIDEN.

- Silver Wolf might be my only teen sim that has absolutely never considered doing any drugs whatsoever, or is at least never associated with anyone who does drugs. And this is including non-hoyo characters.

- I'm not kidding. Razor is an addict and Gaming and Freminet are his boyfriends. Misha lives with Sparkle and Reca who both deal. Ame and KAngel do a lot of crack. Iruma, Alice, and Clara are all friends with Gaming and Razor. Both of AvenBootLaea's daughters (as well as their child son) know that Boothill does cocaine. And so on.

- Speaking of Boothill's problem, one time he did a line in the sink while Aventurine was just sitting there taking a shit right next to him. Aventurine did NOT give a fuck.

- I finally got Ei added back to the household, and turns out she died of LAUGHTER.

- Sampo, in the span of 24 in-game hours: Came out as a trans woman, got engaged to Sunday, died of a ketamine overdose, got brought back as a ghost, didn't notice she was dead and continued to trip balls, and then motorboated the shit out of Sunday.

- An OC in another household unrelated to HSR and Genshin died while I was away. I went to the household to get him back in the house and revived, and when I did there were three random toddlers on the front lawn AND the only woman in the house was pregnant. I don't even wanna know what happened there.

- She watches.

- Aventurine is now an OnlyFans creator.

Day 6: Notes

Characters:

Asmodeus

He tends to leave a lot of notes but in very important places, at he he thinks they’re important, like in your text books and or your phone or notebook telling you to meet up with him after school and reminding you to eat and stay hydrated. Most of his notes are reminders to stay healthy, get sleep, study hard for an upcoming test which he can help with, and reminding you that he loves you dearly. Some of them you’ll find in odd places all of a sudden if he has to go somewhere immediately telling you where he had to go and how long he’ll be. He loves you so much but with all the chaos happening he can be dragged to the other side of the school for the weirdest reason and wants to let you know he didn’t ditch and wouldn’t dream of it while telling you he loves you.

Iruma

Iruma is such a sweetheart and does leaves notes everywhere; they tend to be a little long since he apologizes and adds things like “I can help with whatever task you’re doing” or “I might be late because I’m helping _____ with the ______” (he gets into so many different side quests because he can’t say no. So it helps that he can leaves notes or text you briefly to let you know that it’s going to be while for him to meet up with you. Such is the life of the extra helper and pushover Iruma and being someone he cares about greatly.

MK

MK is all about leaving little notes everywhere because of how he’s always zipping around to different places. He has to work a double shift all of a sudden? There’s a special note for you left at Pigsy’s telling you that he loves you and misses you and when he’ll be back. Roughly since bad guy shenanigan might start to happen. Sudden training with Monkey King or his new training with Macaque? He’s left a note on his door or at yours telling you where he is and that he’ll be back before midnight which has been a lie sometimes. It’s not his fault his mind drifts off to you during training and that consequently makes him do the sparring match again.
