aw thank you!!🥹💖💖im happy to hear it! and NO i wont kill you, you are so right. the garreth/leander/clora hangout was my fav part of the chapter and also the most fun part to write, and it gave me an appreciation for the leander and garreth dynamic, which is amazing

i now headcanon their relationship like brothers LMAO, garreth constantly badgering leander and getting on his nerves, while leander is just exasperated in dealing with him (BUT IN A FRIENDLY WAY) theyre like characters in a sitcom tbh BAHAHA (and to anyone wondering, im gonna TRY to have the next chap up within the first week of feb!🙏 ive just been busy with the dark relic comic + work + and now i feel a bit under the weather. ive been sleeping almost nonstop for the past 2 days LOL oop)

How is the making other members’ characters into your character’s family going to work?

There's a layer that I will keep a secret for now but the basics is this:

When you make your character, they're created in a sort of bubble. You decide everything for them at this point, and run them by me to be sure it all checks out. We're going to focus on the character's family and history: at this stage it looks like this.

Arrowseeker was born in Summitclan with three littermates. Her mother was an active participant and her father was not.

Notice that the only name I used was my own character's, I didn't make up any names? That's key here.

When you get approved, your bubble pops! Your character now exists within the scope of all other accepted characters, and it's high time to start your search.

I'd post in the chat, "Arrowseeker has some family that needs filling: three littermates, a mother and a father." I'd then invite others to read her background.

If someone reads that and thinks, Well, my character's old enough to be Arrowseeker's dad. And he seems like the type to kinda disregard his kid. then they'd ping me in the chat: "Hey, I think my character Pebbletwine would be great for her father."

Then we'd start a conversation about genetics. Pebbletwine is luckily already a gray cat, so there's no need to change any genetics. But his player asks if they can add Arrowseeker's belly spot to him as a connection between family. Since Pebbletwine hasn't been roleplayed yet, that is allowed: once his first post comes out, the design is set in stone.

Every time I watch an episode with a repeat actor, it never surprises me that Columbo doesn't recognize them (of course he's face blind). What surprises me is that the bad guys never recognize Columbo! I sit here and yell at the screen "YOU FOOL! THERE'S NEVER JUST ONE MORE THING, YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS!", but they never do 😮

now i know what youre saying here (there are only so many times one can act surprised to see robert culp gripping a big ol steak knife) but i am actually shocked when there are people who really Should know who columbo is and they Don't

take the (oft-bemoaned) hugh creighton, from murder of a rock star. fantastically played by dabney coleman, he's touted as a high-powered homicide lawyer of ostensible cochrane-tier renown.

it's 1991. he doesn't even know who columbo is. columbo, the man who has at this point spent nearly 30 years in los angeles absolutely kicking the shit out of every homicide case he's assigned, and he's somehow completely flown under this guy's radar.

not only is creighton wholly unperturbed by columbo's assignment to his case (as a homicide lawyer i think i'd...do a little research into the guy investigating the homicide i just did), he's entirely too cocky and convinced that he can win to the very end. even high-powered lady lawyer leslie williams could recognize columbo's prowess, is this guy that much dumber? the premise makes maddeningly little amounts of sense under any amount of scrutiny, but that was kind of just how things went as the series went on, unfortunately dumbing down most of the villains. imagine columbo going after someone who actually knows entirely who they're dealing before the game even begins...

okay let me talk about nanami since he's the one i talk the most with my friends:

they have three kids (might have a 4th one because i know gojo would pester them about them naming a baby after him and i find that adorable)

they have a kitten because the twins found it and convinced their dad to take it back home with them (and how was nanami supposed to say no to his toddlers, come on)

they're planning their move to malaysia since he wants to have a less demanding job so he can spend more time with the family

he's absolutely in awe of his kids. they could be covered in spit and they'd be masterpieces in his eyes

they almost broke up once in their early 20s because nanami was too focused on his salaryman job and she was feeling overwhelmed with the responsibilities of a sorcerer (they didn't break up, though. he suggested they move in together so they'd see each other more often and she'd feel less lonely)

he didn't have a proper proposal. as in, he planned one, but he never got through his plan because she found the ring by accident while cleaning

on their wedding day, she almost had a mental breakdown and he left everything to go check on her, even though she kept saying it was bad luck to see each other. he didn't care. he just needed her to be okay.

he had a crush on her for like three years (very much reciprocated), but never made a move because he thought she didn't feel the same (since they were still in jujutsu high). she ended up going off on him in the middle of a mission and almost got herself killed because of it. terrible timing. they started dating after that, though.

4x09 hostage situation but not CHET: a win is a win

As well as this being one of my fave scenes in the season like it's so good and interesting?? Ofc it means having another scene like this in 5x09 would be very close together even if the circumstances/stakes would be higher in CHET but like, S4 also laid grounds for that not being the case in a lot of ways?? As well as Claudia stealing Rayla's illusion plan in 2x03 for the finale in 3x09! But yeah I loved this scene and that Rayla, as jaded as she is, still refuses the deal (because of course she does) and how this shows Claudia and Rayla's changing personalities (altho I have more thoughts on those 2 and their relationship in s4 I need to post)

I don't mean to offend any cishet people when I say this, because I have cishet friends myself who are very dear to me, but for the love of god if you are gay, you need gay friends. you need friends who understand that the trajectory of your life is just going to look different than theirs. you need people who get this and can genuinely gas you up and encourage you to keep going, to tell you that it's okay, because some days you're going to want to not keep going. some days you're going to want to give up and go back into the closet because life would be easier if you could just blend in. even if you think you never faced adversity because of your queerness, being any part of the lgbt+ community can be incredibly isolating when you don't actually feel that sense of community. when you're queer and your entire support system is cishet people, even allies with the best of intentions, you are alone. they will never understand you, not fully. if you don't have to take off the lenses of what society expects of you, why would you? it is nearly impossible for cishet people to see the lives of their gay friends any way other than the same image they were raised on: birth, childhood, teenage rebellion, experimentation, young adulthood, job, marriage, children, house, taxes, weddings and funerals, death. gay people often have wildly different timelines. deviation from the expected timeline is not bad, just different, but most straight people I know don't realize that even "I just want you to be happy" has an undertone of "I want you to be happy in the way people like me are happy, by doing what was expected of me." it's horseshit and it's a trap. do what feels right. be kind. love deeply (even your cishet friends). enjoy the grass. forgive. live.
