#it’s cause writing yell is easier for me cause I relate to her a lot

You can post this and respond to it if you want to, I don't mind, but here is my longer explanation of how I can relate to Slugpelt, and I'm doing it on anon because if I didn't then my anxiety would spike
My mom is a very angry person almost all the time, and I know there are reasons for that but it doesn't make it any easier for me. She tends to gaslight people and is constantly yelling, and she is the whole reason why I tend to freeze up when conflict happens, or when someone gets mad at me, because I'm used to not having a voice, due to her talking over people and acting like she is correct no matter what she is saying.
I find myself displaying some behaviors she does towards other people sometimes, and every single time it hurts when I realize. Every time one of my family members says anything relating me to my mother, even in a joking way, I shut down and tend to end up crying because of it, because I don't want to be like that. I don't want to be like the person who gets mad at people when they say something harmless or who makes people feel like they are stupid, or that their issues aren't important. The part in the description of this newest issue about how sometimes Slugpelt's hurt and issues are taken out on her children really spoke to me, because I understand how much it can hurt to feel like you are becoming someone who caused you pain, even if what you do isn't nearly as bad as what they did to you. You feel afraid, and upset, you feel terrified.
I originally lost the confidence to send this because I was thinking about how I'm probably just projecting my own issues onto this character and that Slugpelt probably doesn't have the same feeling of not wanting to become her mother as I do, but I will send it now because you seem interested to hear me out on why I relate to her and I appreciate that a lot. And I really love how you are adding a storyline like this into this story, just generational trauma in general, because it's so hard to actually break the cycle of it, I know because I'm trying to... and I hope Slugpelt gets to heal and build a better relationship with her children later in this story, because she doesn't seem like she is past the point of healing and being better then her mother was
Sorry if there are any mistakes in this, I started crying while writing this so my brain feels a bit foggy
Don't worry at all about staying on anon, it's perfectly understandable.
I'm always open to hearing people's thoughts on my characters, and it means quite a lot to me if they are able to touch someone personally in any way.
I will say that actually, the idea of Slugpelt fearing about becoming like her mother is something I had written into the story. Specifically it features in issues 15 and 18. I hope you enjoy those issues when the time comes.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, I appreciate your openness a lot.

Hello!
Could I get Eda and Lilith clawthorne (separate) x Male all knowing reader?
Here's a "bit" of summary, I tend to over do the summaries to my requests so I hope these aren't a bother!
Reader went to hexside, during the same time Eda and Lilith were there as well, reader was the best student in hexside's history, due to his immense knowledge in most subjects and many others. But anything related to physical activities, reader is way less effective due to his frail body that he was born with.
Reader eventually joined the emperor's coven, after he graduated. Becoming there Intelligence/information person, due to reader knowing what happens in and around the isle's through mysterious means. But even after Lilith left the coven, reader stayed due to his own reasons. The sacred books and tome's in the emperor's castle is what he was looking for.
But every other day or so, reader sneaks out to spend time with Eda/Lilith, even though they know that if they are caught, he's gonna be imprisoned or possibly petrified.
So let's skip to the last episodes of season 2.
Before either Eda/Lilith could get to Belos to stop his plans, reader was blocking the door to Belos. Before they could make a decision on what to do reader said:
Ahh, I knew you'd come.
To try to stop King Belos, and his plan
What a sad state of affairs.
I commend your spirit, but alas, none shall stop him.
King Belos has high hopes for us.
That we continue to struggle. Unto eternity.
I'm sorry Eda/Lilith I wish it didn't have to end this way. And just like in the game Reader starts a battle, ( if reader dying is not allowed, the he is just knocked out)
Reader is immensely powerful, even surpassing Belos in terms of spells and magic, but he is frail. So any physical attack could hurt reader alot.
I hope this doesn't sound too demanding, I wasn't going for that I hope (─.─||)
I hope you have a great day/afternoon/night!
molerat-anon
Eda x male!reader
This is like a part two, so I'm using your accedental two requests as an advantage :)
Again, same for the Lilith one, the reader is first presented to be in the Oracle track at Hexside, but in the emperors coven he uses all of the tracks
Edit: I'm so sorry this took me so long! A lot of people sent me requests and i thought that maybe writing short requests would be easier and by the time i wrote like two i forgot i started this 😭
Tumblr media
Two sister witches were sitting at the Hexside lunch table
One of the sisters, Lilith, was ranting about something to her sister, Eda
But Eda was not paying attention, only watching a boy from a distance with a dazed expression
The boy was like any other young witch on the isles, well by looks that is, by power he was the most powerful young witch at Hexside, some of the witches would glare at him in jealousy, but not Eda
She was more... I'm love lets say, she didn't hate him for being powerful, she loved him for it, but again despised him at the same time, for making her sister mad
"Edalyn? Are you even listening?!" Lilith yelled, snapping Eda out of her trance
"Uh- What- Yes... what were you saying?" Eda mumbled, causing her sister to groan
"Y/n got a higher score than me again!" Lilith complained
"Really? How much did he win by this time?" Eda questioned, her sister mumbling a response
"wat was that?" Eda questioned again
"He won by half a point!" Her sister yelled
"Jeez, didn't know you were so cranky... Want some apple blood?" Eda grabbed her apple blood and extended her hand to give it to Lilith, but she smacked it out of her hand, causing in to fall on to the ground and spill
"Nevermind, i have to go to my E. C. study group meeting." Lilith said as she stood up and walked away
Eda just sighed as she poked her food
-----------------------time skip-----------------------
A couple of years had passed, Eda was a wild witch with a curse running away from the emperor's coven, whilst the love of her life was a part of the emperors coven with her sister, ironic isn't it?
The one person that hated him the most HS to work with him, whilst the person that loves him the most has to run from him
Eda couldn't help but groan in to the pillows of her couch as she barely lifter her hand to turn on her globe to watch the news
"Breaking news, one of the emperors coven's most valuable and powerful scout has broken a arm whilst fighting a wild witch! For the time being he will be resting at the emperor's castle, we wish you a quick recovery Y/n." The news reporter said
Eda froze, she couldn't listen to the words coming out of the reporters mouth as she turned off the globe, how could someone hurt her Y/n?
"Eda! Eda! Have you seen the news? Turns out the love of your life you had coooooonstantly been talking about broke his arm-"
"I know Hooty!" Eda groaned s she got up from the couch
"Well, aren't you gonna sent him some flowers, or sould iiiii sent some again." Hooty said
"I'm going to- wait, you sent him flowers before?!" Eda yelled
"Goodbye!" Hooty yelled as he went back to the door, Eda just rolled her eyes as she went outside of her house to pluck some flowers
---
Later that night Eda put on all black clothing and planned to sneak in to the castle
Getting the flowers and secret admirer note she wrote a while ago, she left the safety of her home and flew towards the emperor's castle on Owlbert
"Almost there Owlbert, remember our secret word." Eda whispered as the castle slowly came in to view
She landed on top of the building and walked inside
Sneaking around the guards and trying to find the healing room took about an hour and a half, but then she finally found it
She walked in to the room and saw Y/n sleeping on the bed, he looked pale and had huge bags under his eyes, but in Eda's eyes he looked just as beautiful as the first time she saw him
She quickly snapped out of her trance and put the bouquet and note next to his bed, leaving through the window she yelled
"THE OWL HAS DELIVERED!"
Owlbert taking about three seconds before appearing in front of Eda
She jumped on and they flew back all the way to her house
----------------------------------------------------------
"Eda, are you a 100% sure you want to do this?" Lilith questioned as she looked upon the emperor's huge castle
"Yes Lilith I'm sure, plus who else is a good enough witch to break in to the emperor's castle to steal some dumb paperwork." Eda laughed as she sat on her palismen, lifting herself up in to the air
"Eda." Eda heard her sister call out
"yes Lilith?" The witch groaned as she turned to her sister with an annoyed expression
"stay safe." She sighed, Eda's face softened as she looked at her sister before turning her head to face the emperor's castle with a cheeky grin
"don't worry. I will." Eda said as she quicky flew up higher in the air and towards the emperors castle
She looked through the windows to see if she can spot the door that Darius explained to her
After passing a few empty hallways and almost getting caught she finally found the door that fit Darius's description
"Bingo." She chuckled lightly, tugging on Owlbert lightly to get closer to the window as she stood up
"here goes nothing." She sighed, forcing her body weight on to the window, hoping to break it, but only for it to open and for her to fall on to the floor with a groan
Owlbert looked at her with worry as she just smiled and gave him a thumbs up
"now let's get those papers." She said to no one in particular as Owlbert went in her hair, she approached the door and rested her hand on the golden handle. Before she could take in on what she was about to do she heard people talking, so she turned the handle quickly and walked inside, closing the door behind her as well
She sighed in relief as she looked around the room, only to see scattered papers, she sighed
"This will take a while..." She groaned, getting on to her knees as she searched for the papers she was supposed to return with
---
It didn't take a while for Eda to find the type of papers Lilith and Darius told her about, only ten minutes
She sighed in victory as she got up and dusted herself up, rolling up the tater as she put it in her hair
"well Owlbert, I'll call this mission a success-" she turned around, her sentence being cut short as she saw an oh so familiar man in front of her
"Y/n." She breathed out, her heart in her chest beating quickly, partially from fear and partially from the feelings she had since they were young witches in Hexside
"Ahh, I knew you'd come." He breathed out, clicking his tongue as he shook his head
"To try and stop King Belos and his plan." He laughed, "What a sad state of affairs." He sighed, taking a step closer towards Eda
"I commend your spirit, but alas, none shall stop him." He said, his grin fading as he lifted up his hand and extended his pointer finger, getting ready to cast a spell as any moment, "King Belos has high hopes for us."
"I'm sorry Eda I wish it didn't have to end this way." He sighed, quickly drawing a circle with his finger as spirits shot towards Eda
"she luckily was able to dodge them in time as she pulled out Owlbert from her hair and casted a spell to get rid of the attacking spirits
"Y/n, you don't have to do this." Eda said, letting out a shaky breath as she gripped on to Owlbert
"Oh but I have to, I cannot let anyone stop King Belos." He said, casting a huge circle as abomination goo shot up from the ground and went towards Eda
She continued dodging his attack's, not wanting to hurt the love of her life, but she knew if she were to come out of this mission victorious, she would have to do something about him. Even if it meant getting him killed
She groaned in frustration as every word she tried to say to him only got cut off by either spirits, plants or abomination goo
Without a word she spinner Owlbert, creating a large circle as she sent out a powerful gust of wind towards Y/n, he got knocked back as she hit his back against the wall, coughing up blood lightly
He lifted his hand, casting an illusion spell as to create a distraction, only for Eda to create an owl worm of some sort pierce though the illusion and hit Y/n, knocking him out cold
She sighed, tears forming in her eyes as she could see his breaths start to be less frequent
For a witch as strong as him, even a hit to the chest could cause him to pass out, ad Eda knew that, that's why she decided to use the somewhat sculpture of Hooty to hit him
She kneeled down in front of him as she kissed his forehead
"I'm sorry that it had to end this way." He voice cracked as more tears emerged in her eyes
She stood up, opening the door and seeing if there was someone in the hallway, and luckily there wasn't
Before she went out of the room she took one last glance at Y/n, memories of the two of them together flashed in her head as she shut her eyes and ran out, quickly mounting Owlbert as she flew back towards Darius and her sister
-------------------------the end------------------------
A/n: oh my goodness anon I am so sorry that this took me so God damn long! I hope you can forgive me but for now, enjoy this crappy angst y oneshot

Authors note: I’ve gotten really into “Girl, interrupted” lately, and I really like Lisa, so I thought I’d write for her because I relate to her a bit. Hope you like it :) Since Lisa is in the women’s ward the reader is depicted as female. (Just to make it easier Susanna and Lisa never kissed or anything) sorry if this is ooc or anything, i'll get better at writing her as i watch the movie more.
Tumblr media
When you first came into the ward, you intrigued her. You weren't kicking and yelling like others usually did. You were quiet, and calm. She watched you carefully as Vallery showed you around the floor, observing your behavior and how you carried yourself.
As you roamed and hung around the ward, she’d come and tease and pester you quite often.
She would take a liking to you quite quickly, but it would take a lot for her to trust you completely, especially if you came after Susanna left.
If you came when Susanna did, She’d bring you along with her and Susan.
You’d probably have to be the one to make romantic advances, to be honest. Yes, she knows she likes you, but getting her to admit her feelings is like talking to a brick wall.
When you did confess, she’d tease you endlessly. but she’d accept your feelings and you’d start dating.
“Aww, you couldn't help falling for little ol’ me huh?”
“Lisa you literally like me too-”
She may act like a tough guy constantly but she softens up when you are alone together.
She’d call you sweetpea or doll face, maybe Hunny or darling once in a while.
She’s definitely the big spoon when you cuddle, but will little spoon once in a while if she’s having a bad day.
Painting each other's nails ofc
Getting her to open up is a tough job, but she’ll cave after a lot of convincing.
She’ll eventually open up about Jennie, and tell you how she misses her.
Comforting her when they give her shocks. Plz hold her after it really effects her.
Trying to keep her out of trouble
getting used to her sneaking up on you constantly, and her teasing you when you jump.
Speaking of teasing, this girl LOVES to tease and pick at you. All in good fun, of course, it's her love language.
she likes PDA depending on her mood, If she’s not having a good day she’s not as touchy, but when she’d in a good mood she’ll likely always have an arm around you or a hand on your thigh. PDA is a whole other story when she's jealous, though.
She’s very possessive, and makes sure everyone knows your hers. that being said, she doesn't exactly get jealous often.
She knows your hers, and Everyone knows not to mess with Lisa, let alone her girl.
When she does get jealous, she’s all over you. Maybe John’s standing a little too close to you or someone has had your attention away from her for a bit too long for her liking, she’ll either
A) Come up behind you, wrap her arms around your waist and start kissing your neck
B) Straight up pick you up bridal style and walk-off
or C) cause a scene to get your attention
Like most things, it depends on what mood she’s in and what the situation is.
(Smutty stuff below)
(ngl if she chooses to walk off with you 9 times /10 she’ll get you alone and roughly finger you to remind you who you belong to-)
^ I mean she almost always ends up doing that anyway but yk-
Speaking of that-
100% the dom in bed, she loves having control over you and your pleasure (or pain-)
3 words. Rough, fast, and messy.
You two don’t get very long to yourselves, so things almost always have to be quick.
But when you two do get alone time, she’ll take her time and really draw out yours and her pleasure.
(End of smutty stuff)
She’d take you with her when Her and Susanna run away.
She’ll do pretty much anything you ask her. Ned to see your file? she’ll get it for you. want a certain nail polish color? its sitting on your nightstand waiting for you. Want a certain book or something? she’ll get Vallery or one of the other nurses to get it for you.
Dates are pretty rare, but she’ll sometimes manage to convince Vallery or someone to let the two of you go off grounds to the ice cream shop or to go on a walk.
her letting you cut her hair for her
almost always sleeping with each other, either you in her room or you in hers.
she’s not very cuddly, but she will when she’d in the mood for it or when you two are sleeping. She like to either spoon you or one of you laying on the other's chest.
almost always getting dragged into her crazy antics
sharing cigarettes together
her being quick to defend you from anything and anyone
If you came before she ran away, your definitely gonna be friends with Jennie.
Knowing everything that's happening on that floor comes with dating Lisa, she knows everything about everybody and often gossips to you when she hears something.
You trying to get Lisa to ease up on Daisy
almost always sharing clothes
If your shorter than her she’ll tease you, calling you munchkin or shortcake.
if your taller than her? she’ll ask things like “how's the weather up there?” or little things like that to annoy you.
^ sometimes you catch her standing on her tiptoes to seem taller,
She’ll throw hands with anyone who tries anything to hurt you. Oh? this person said something about your illness? oops, their nose is broken now. So and so made you uncomfortable? she’ll make their life hell.
She lowkey likes when you play with her hair, brushing it, braiding it, or just twirling it in your fingers. she loves it.
This girl LOVES praise, she may not act like it but complimenting her always makes her melt. plz tell her how pretty she is, how much you love her and how proud of her you are, bb girl deserves it.
Playing cards together surprisingly often
Even though she may not seem like it, she’s a very good listener. If you need to rant, or just wanna ramble about something she’ll listen, giving you her full attention.
She’s good at remembering things, whether its a random childhood memory or something silly, she remembers everything you tell her.
She gets very interested in your hobbies. if your musical, maybe you play guitar or something, she’ll listen and watch you play. she’ll definitely want you to teach her. If your artsy she’ll watch you paint or draw very intently, occasionally doodling with you. If you write she’ll read anything you write, whether its a poem or a story, she’ll read it and tell you what she likes. she’s surprisingly good at constructive criticism, so if you want feedback she’ll give it to you.
^ if you give her any artwork or poems she’ll hang every one up in her room.
If your more on the anxious side, she’ll do the talking for you. Need something from a nurse? she’ll ask for you. Feel uncomfortable getting food from the cafeteria? she’ll get it for you. feel uncomfortable bathing? she’ll come in with you.
overall a protective and pretty good girlfriend

headcanon for when billy realizes he’s in love with reader? i’m such a sucker for romantic and soft billy😫
I love this. I'm going to go a little beyond just when he first realises too. You'll see. It's turned into more of a 'when Billy's in love with you' headcanon.
I'll break it down into sections once again. It's just easier that way 😌
-
When he first realises he loves you:
Oh man. Billy doesn't realise he's in love until he's so far gone he's drowning in it lmao
He has no idea why he gets crazy ass butterflies in his stomach every time he just thinks about you. No idea why his heart beats all funny when he looks at you or why his chest feels all warm. He doesn't know why everytime he's away from you his chest hurts and it feels like someone's punched a gaping hole right through it. The boy has no clue.
But then one day, he's out drinking with Frank, having a good time. And Frank's been going on and on about Maria, absolutely gushing about her. Billy being the good best friend he is, teases him of course. Sends him an offhand remark with a smirk. And Frank replies with...
"Yeah well. That's what happens when you're in love."
The words feel like a smack to the face. Suddenly, Billy feels like he's free falling, plummeting at record speed towards the concrete from a 50 story building. Because he relates. All the sickening gushing Frank had been doing, Billy got it. He does it himself about you. And Frank's words make everything click into place, Billy's world is suddenly tilting on its axis. Because what if you don't feel the same? Why would you when own his mother couldn't muster up any love for him?
He freaks out. His mind is going to dark places as his heart feels ready to give out. Frank sees him looking a second away from collapsing in a heap on the floor and takes him outside. After some brotherly advice and tough love, he feels a little better.
He still won't tell you though. Of course not, that's just fucking stupid. The fear of rejection runs far too deep in Billy to admit such a thing and he doesn't know how he'd cope if you broke his heart. If he lost the only person he's ever been in love with. So he resolves to keep it to himself. Its kind of nice though, to finally know just what it is that he's been feeling. It was obvious really. People write love songs about this bullshit. The same songs Billy's been listening to like a love sick fool because he gets it. He relates to the words.
-
How he tells you:
Billy won't outright tell you he loves you first. At least not on purpose. There are three likely scenarios that happen.
The first is you telling him you love him first. This is his best case scenario. He blinks warily at you for a moment, dark eyes rapidly scanning your face as he tries to find even the slightest hint of deception. It's not that he doesn't trust you, but he finds it almost impossible to believe anyone would ever be in love with him.
But when he realises you're telling the truth, he's dumbstruck. He's stunned but overwhelmingly happy and he tells you he loves you too. It feels like a weights been lifted, to finally tell you, to know you haven't turned him away. That you actually love him too.
The second way it might happen is him blurting it out randomly. This might happen during or after some amazing sex. Maybe you're both snuggled on the sofa and laughing about something stupid. He just looks at your wide and radiant smile and it strikes him how absolutely hopelessly in love with you he is. How lucky he is to be with you. And his mouth takes on a life of its own. The words tumble from his lips without his consent and he panics.
Total blind fear claws at his chest when he realises what he's said. He fears the worst. That you'll say you don't feel the same, maybe even laugh at him. Yet you don't do those things. You tell him you love him too. He reacts the same as the other scenario. Wary at first until he sees you mean it. And then he's overjoyed and shocked and confused but ridiculously happy.
The last scenario is similar to the other one in that it gets blurted out. Only this time it's during a heated discussion or argument. I made a whole headcanon post about arguing with Billy and another on the kind of things you might argue about.
This isn't a huge fight but most likely caused by something you did that he saw as reckless. Something like you walking home from work in the dark instead of getting a cab or calling him. Is he being overdramatic? Definitely. He knows this. But he's so terrified something might happen to you and it frustrates him that you don't see that. That you have no idea how much it would kill him if you got hurt. And in the middle of all the anger and the blind fear and intensity in the moment, after a biting remark from you, the words get ripped from his chest.
"Because I fuckin' love you, alright?! I'd die if somethin' happened to you! So you don't get to stand there and tell me it's no big deal!"
He's full of barely restrained rage at the mere thought of someone hurting you and he's sad and upset that you don't seem to care much about your own wellbeing.
But now it's a tense silence because he just blurted those words and worst of all, he yelled them at you. It was all going wrong and he hates it. But his panic was kept at bay by his anger, his only outwards reactions being the clenched jaw, the narrowed eyes and the roll of his shoulder. He's steeling himself for the inevitable. The searing pain of rejection.
But then you're yelling right back that you love him too and calling him an asshole and he's never been happier in his damn life. And with emotions still running high from the fight, he tosses you over his shoulder and takes you to the bedroom so he can show you just how much he loves you.
-
Ways he shows you he loves you:
Any of these that don't involve the words 'I love you' he's already been doing a while. But he continues to do so after that hurdle of first telling you passes and he gets comfortable with telling you verbally at every chance he gets.
He loves taking care of you. If he's off work he loves making you breakfast in bed. He loves cooking for you, he's actually quite good at it. He draws you relaxing baths, sometimes joining you and not even for sex. If you've had a hard day at work, he'll put your feet in his lap as you sit on the sofa with him and rub your sore feet.
He often buys you your favorite flowers, always accompanied by a sweet note. When you're both at work, he stops by your work for lunch because he can't stand a whole day away from you.
Since he wakes before you, he often just lays there and watches you. With the sun rising and bathing you in its glow, he watches in awe of how he managed to get someone as amazing as you. He doesn't dwell on these moments for too long though. His treacherous brain has a habit of poisoning anything good. If he lays there too long, his thoughts turn sour as the voice in the back of his head tells him he's not good enough for you. He doesn't deserve you, deserve your love. You'll leave him one day, realise you deserve way better than someone like him. He was an unloved and unwanted child, and that little boy is still there inside of him, hiding behind his bravado and his fancy ass suits. It's a downward spiral he finds it hard to come back from and he learned his lesson long ago. So instead, he allows himself a moment to admire you, appreciate you, and then he gets up for the day.
He doesn't wake you, you look so sweet and peaceful and he doesn't have the heart to. You don't need to get up as early as he does. Sometimes, if he's feeling particularly sappy, he leaves a note for you on his pillow. Letting you know how much he loves you and that he'll miss you while at work.
Gifts are abundant with Billy. It doesn't matter what it is, if you want it then it's yours. If it's expensive, it's yours. Cheap, it's yours. Weird and rare and very hard to get, he finds a way and it's yours. He's also a sucker for sentimental gifts. Jewellery that means something, maybe the date you met engraved on it. Some kind of photo gift with a picture of the two of you.
Billy has a lot of affection to give you. I've talked about this in other posts but he's a tactile person. He always needs to be touching you, reassuring himself you're real, you're safe and you're there with him. He often puts his hand on your neck, slender fingers feeling your pulse under them. It soothes him to do so. There's plenty of kisses on your head, temples, shoulders, neck, cheeks. He can't help it. He also loves stroking your hair. His hand are always attached to you like there's a gravitational pull towards you he can't resist. There's at least one hand on you at all times if you're near.
-
Billy doesn't fall for people easily. It's never happened before you. But when he falls, he falls hard. It's an all consuming kind of love that takes over his whole being.

Hey! This is my first time doing this ! But can you wirte a scenario where in Winter's cursed AU where MK's parents try to come back and get custody again?( With prompt 14 and 45) With protective monkey dads? Have a great rest of your day! 💕
Thank you so much, I hope you like this as your first fill! It was very enjoyable to write since I had this idea months ago but never had the chance to put it down. But you’re gonna get a little more than just protective monkey dads! This is set pretty far into @winterpower98 's AU so he has a lot of people behind him.
Am I scaring you?/You may technically be an adult, but you’re still my child.
It didn’t take much guessing to figure out exactly what had made MK look like he wanted to run for the hills the second he picked up his phone. There were only a few very specific scenarios that could make him react like that now. But it was the way his face hardened and his whisper yelled into it that made Pigsy realize exactly who they were dealing with without the young man saying who it was.
Again.
“This is the third time you’ve gotten a new number for this,” he said, trying to keep his voice down. “I’ve told you already, the answer is no.”
"Tang," Pigsy whispered, nudging his favorite freeloader to get his attention better. "Go keep an eye outside. The last time they did this they showed up an hour later. If they do we're shuttering the shop early."
"On it," Tang said with a nod, standing with another nod to MK as he left.
"I am an adult, you cannot do anything to- yes I'm sure. Yes... yes, because I have a lawyer now mom!"
MK’s tone of voice made Pigsy smirk proudly. Had this been a few years ago MK would have had so much difficulty even just talking back to his parents, going quiet and shrinking into himself. Now?
He was standing up straight, speaking firmly and calmly, raising his voice a bit even. In the years Pigsy had known the young man he had changed drastically when it came to his parents. His and Tang’s attempts to raise his confidence and teach him to speak up for himself had certainly helped in that regard, but his attained abilities and strength as the Monkie Kid had no doubt given him a boost as well.
Not to mention the knowledge that not only did he have two father figures behind him... he had four (granted, Pigsy had mixed feelings for many reasons about both of them, but he’d warmed up to them when he saw how much MK had grown attached to them). Add Sandy, Mei, and Red Son to the mix?
He had a powerful group behind him to support him in whatever he needed.
"What do you mean you're already here?" MK said suddenly, drawing Pigsy's attention back from his inner thoughts.
"Whoa, hey, I said you can’t go in there!" Tang's voice suddenly rang through the entrance as someone pushed him backwards into the shop. He stumbled, almost falling flat on his rear and just barely catching himself on the counter. "You've been banned from this establishment and you know i-"
"MK," the woman who entered said as she closed her flip phone shut with a snap.
A man entered behind her, matching her in simple modern fashion. He shared MK's hair while the woman shared his eyes. It was obvious who they were to anyone seeing the three of them together.
Tang turned, shooting Pigsy a quick sorry that was met with an easy smile and a nod before the chef scowled at the two of them.
"... mom, dad," MK replied, slipping his phone into his pocket. He stood at his full height, back straight and no sign of hesitation on his face. "I told you, I'm not coming home."
"And we told you that we realized we made a mistake," his mother said, voice soft but with a softly uncertain undertone to it. Like she didn't quote believe her own words but was convincing herself otherwise. "Please, let us make it right."
"You had plenty of time to make it right all the times I tried to contact you before I became the Monkie Kid," MK said easily, practiced and firm. "Besides, I'm an adult now. You can't force me to do anything I don't want to do."
"You may technically be an adult," MK's mother said with a sigh, reaching out to grab his shoulder. "But you’re still my child."
Pigsy jumped in front of her, a sharp glare his only weapon. He knew better than to threaten these two, much like some of his more rowdy customers, but he would still put himself bodily between the young man he viewed as a son and anyone making him uncomfortable when he had the ability to do so.
"If you so much as breathe on my kid-"
"But he's not your kid now is he, pig man," MK's father sniped back, venom dripping from ever word and making the entire restaurant freeze in response.
"Excuse me," a new voice called out from behind them, a figure pressing a firm hand on his shoulder. "What were you saying to my brother?"
The reaction was instantaneous. MK’s father jumping to the side with a yelp, turning to come face to face with a less than pleasantly smiling Sun Wukong and a scowling Macaque behind him, neither bothering to keep up any semblance of a human disguise at the moment.
"I believe my student made it clear to you multiple times that he is an adult who can make his own decisions about who he wants to live with," he said coldly, moving to stand beside Pigsy with his fur raised and teeth barred in a way that could be mistaken for a smile. It certainly wasn't one if you knew anything about monkeys, though.
"Scram," Macaque chimed in, voice lower and far more threatening than anyone else in the building as he took a step forward. Though his words were fewer his tone was stronger and held just as much weight.
MK's parents took a step back in turn, stepping back into the entryway itself.
"Y-you may be his mentor," MK's mother started, her tone losing the odd uncertainty under it and gaining a frustration and confusion instead. "But I'm his mother."
"Who left him to his own devices and didn't even try to show interest in reconnecting until he made something of himself," Macaque snapped, snapping his teeth together in a warning bite as he took another step forward with a growl.
His parents stumbled back out of the shop, eyes wide and watching as MK was surrounded on either side by 4 others. Pigsy and Tang on his right, Wukong and Macaque on his left.
"Am I scaring you?" Macaque asked with a chuckle, letting out a noise of surprise when Wukong's tail touched his arm.
"I think he's got this now," Wukong said with a soft smile.
"Mom, dad," MK said with his voice still firm and sure. "I'm not coming back home with you. I'm an adult and you can't force me to come back. And if you keep trying like this I'll never give you the chance to let me chose to on my own."
The duo looked at their son, his father's eyes wide in shock and disbelief and his mother's eyes much the same with an undercurrent of... something. Something none of them could really place.
"I think we s-"
“You are not good people!" MK's dad snapped, standing up to his full height to tower over everyone else. "I caution you against this! This is your last chance to accept the damage you’ve caused! And if MK does not go back with us I will have no choice but to take further action! I will be contacting my lawyer to open a lawsuit against you and further more this will ruin your life with insurmountable debt!”
He smirked, crossing his arms over his chest in his assured victory as everyone else stared at him in shock and disbelief. Including his wife, who looked even more incredulous than any of them.
"D-debt?" MK eventually managed to get out, an unbelieving smile forming on his face. Before he started to laugh and march forward. "Debt? DEBT!? FUCK your debt! We'll take our chances DAD, Monkey King has a treasure trove and the best lawyer in all of China so take your debt and STUFF IT!" He raised both middle fingers toward his parents before jumping up to grab the handle of the shutter door and slam is shut before either of his parents could rush back in.
"INSURMOUNTABLE DEBT!" He yelled one last time, almost manically before sitting at a nearby table and covering his face with his hands as he burst into laughter. "I-I just- you can't threaten the Monkey King of all people with financial problems how am I related to this man!?"
The two pairs of parental figures looked at each other before laughing themselves, finding it difficult not to follow in MK's lead given how ridiculously that tense situation ended.
"You handled that pretty damn well, MK," Wukong said with proud smile as he ruffled his student’s hair.
"It's a lot easier when I know I have a bunch of dads and pops to back me up," he replied with a smile.

Hi, how u doin'?
Well, so I thought of this: reader was an UA student and she was in class 1-A with everyone when Bakugou was kidnapped — and so was she. But, for some reason, only Katsuki was rescued by the heroes that night and no one could find the poor reader so they thought she was dead. Years later, however, she shows up out of the blue but with a little surprise for her former friends; she's now a villain and best friends if u know what I mean with Dabi.
Love your writing! ♡
a\n : here's your request I hope you enjoy it and thanks for requesting <3

How does it feel to be the unlucky one getting kidnapped by the League of Villains ? honored because you present a threat to the villain or scared because you may not make it alive. “At least I have Bakugo with me” you said to yourself then shook your head “I shouldn’t rely on others, not this time” you thought. You’ve been always insecure about your abilities, about your quirk and the way you fight. Of course you want to be the number one hero one day but you’ve always underestimated your potential, you thought that you don’t stand a chance when Shoto Izuku and Bakugo take all the light spots. Your quirk is dangerous you can make someone suffer physically, you can both increase or decrease the pain depending on your emotions and all of that happens when you touch your target. You’re still learning how to control it so you don’t activate it at the wrong timing in order to not harm innocent people including your friends and teachers. Well about your friends you don’t really have them, let’s say only a few people including Izuku and Uraraka. Both of them treat you nicely and believe that you’ll be able to control it one day. However others, they’re either scared to approach you( because many accidents happened in the past) or bullying you Bakugo and Sero they call you cursed touch. You hated the fact that they’re the reason to you being insecure all the time but you still tried your best to be a hero. “I’m warning you for the last time you know that the heros will arrive soon ! THEY’LL CRUSH YOU ALL” said Bakugo smirking clearly not scared of any of the villains gathered in front of you both. “calm down explosion boy, we only want to talk both of you will miss great opportunities if you don’t join us ” said Shigaraki giving Dabi a look. Dabi nodded and approached you “c’mon let’s take you somewhere else” in contrast to Bakugo you were clearly terrified, Dabi gave you soft looks guiding you to another place. “ LEAVE HER ALONE “yelled Bakugo standing up from his seat only to receive a punch “I said calm down we only need to separate you” “Y\N I’LL SAVE YOU I PROMISE” you looked at Bakugo tears gathering in your eyes but you tried to hold them back “ save me from who Katsuki huh? From you? What makes you different from? Villains harm others physically but who damages others mentally huh? YOU DID !” you screamed , you’ve never liked Bakugo, at first you were excited you wanted to be friends with all of them but they only pushed you away you grew hating on him because of his harsh words that pierced holes through your heart. “I hate you Bakugo but I promise I’ll be able to save myself so no need to help me” you added, he only stared at you blankly, did you really just say that? Did his words really hurt you that much? Shigaraki looked at Dabi both smirking , the hate inside you is able to turn you into a villain. You walked your way through the hallway with Dabi turning your back to Bakugo. Thoughts rushed in your mind, did you do the right thing by saying that? Will you be able to save yourself? You were busy thinking when Dabi spoke “ Do you hate him that much?” you ignored him “ it’s okay to feel that way, sometimes hatred is not a bad thing because it unlocks a strength in you “he added, you looked at him frowning “are you trying to comfort me?” he chuckled and said “well let’s say I felt the same way a long time ago” “huh what do you mean?” “I mean when I expressed my hatred toward someone, I felt free and strong because I faced them” you looked down realizing that you actually felt free the moment your harsh words left your lips, “I don’t why I-“ “why you let them inside for a long time and didn’t face him sooner ?” you stared at him in shock you were about to say the same words “h-how did y-you know?” “because we feel the same *he smiled* and I assure you it’s was the right moment it’s because of the accumulation of feelings or bad ones to be specific” you nodded and looked down, “his words make sense” you thought to yourself. “where are we going now?” you said breaking the silence once again “ hum a more private place
so we can talk” “why didn’t we talk there?” “because you and Bakugo have different mind sets he’s blinded by the idea of being a hero” “I WANT TO BE A HERO TOO” you yelled and stopped walking “hey hey relax, being blinded by something is actually a bad thing cause it makes him neglect greater opportunities! oh here we are please sit so we can talk “ “don’t ever try to convince me because I-“ “please just listen to me first then I promise I’ll let you choose your destiny” “huh? You’ll set me free?” “y-yes I will” “is this the plan of the very know League of Villains?” “the thing i-ss that it’s m-my plan! They don’t know about it” “and what if I’m not convinced and run away what would you tell them” “they already know your quirk and how powerful it is so no one can blame me” he said avoiding your eyes. Your eyes widened are you really that powerful does he mean that you’re actually stronger than Bakugo. That was all what you can think about. Not gonna lie but his words boosted your confidence, no one made you feel confident before all of the other made you feel weak and passive . you hesitantly asked him “do you think i would surpass him?” “you are already! That’s why others are bullying and avoiding you because they know you’re better than them” said Dabi giving you a soft smile, you smiled to yourself no one appreciated you this way before, not even your family “then why do they win and I lose?” “because of fear, they made you think that you’re not able to win to the point that you started doubting your quirk” “it was their plan from the beginning” you said “ I really hate them” you whispered “ did the teachers try to defend you once?” he asked so you shook your head in disappointment “ they only gave me pitiful looks that I don’t need I know they instructed me to how to control my quirk bbut- “ “some people are not meant to be heroes “ he said and topped for a moment approaching you and grabbing your hand “ because they’re meant to be something greater that would lead them to glory “ he added squeezing you hand “w-why are you doing this? Why are being good to me?” you said your eyes not leaving his , he looked away and said “b-because I can relate to you I feel that we’re connected in some way” “h-how?” he took a deep breath and added “because I like you (y\n )” you looked at him in disbelief “please don’t lie to me! Why would you like someone like me? Besides we just met! “ “no maybe you just met me but I feel like I know you very well it’s like you’re a reflection of me, I can relate to your pain , your anger and hatred besides I appreciate you and your quirk you’re really strong and special and that’s catchy ” his words shocked you as much as it made you happy. It was the first time someone holds your hands without being scared of your ‘cursed touch’, it was the first time someone calls you strong instead of ‘so damn weak’ and it was the first time someone confess to you. It was all new, and you liked it. Dabi pulled his hands “ I won’t force in anything, if you choose to leave I’ll make sure to the villains away from you even though I know that you’re able to take all of them down “ he said and looked away sad expressions drawn on his beautiful scarred face “ but I really hope you don’t miss your opportunity to shine” you bit your lower lip, it wasn’t easy for you to take a decision especially under such circumstances. What if Dabi is lying to you? But he’s the only one who made you happy after all this time but his expressions were convincing and why would a cold villain like him act vulnerable in front of you. You took a few steps towards him and finally said “I’m in” his eyes immediately lit up and hugged you tightly “thank you for trusting me , I promise you’ll never regret this” you pulled away “ a-about your feelings-“ “it’s okay take your time I’ll wait for you” he said smiling again. *meanwhile* “sensei what about her?” said Bakugo worriedly “ don’t worry young Bakugo we’ll find her and bring her back safe” “what if that bastard kills her? I would never forgive myself” “shh young Bakugo she’ll be safe and
we need you to be safe now go and join your friends they all rushed to save you” he nodded a left that place joining Deku, Kirishima and the others then went to the dorms. “if something happens to her I would never forgive myself even if she forgives me” said Bakugo to himself wiping a tear. Two weeks passed and none of the heroes could find you, they searched everywhere but for nothing, there’s no trace no hint of you. Everyone started losing hope of finding you and started spreading rumors of you being killed by the League of Villains. Meanwhile you were working on your quirk with Dabi. He helped you a lot and took care of you all the time. The others treated well too but you only trusted Dabi, he was your safe place. He made everything much easier . and comfortable and you were slowly falling for him without realizing it. You were busy with him and Shigaraki working on some plans for your next target when Toga entered the room laughing and “ haha(y\n) they really thought we killed you” all of you looked at her “huh what do you mean?” “quickly turn the TV on” ‘A UA student kidnapped and killed by the League of Villains’ said the host ‘is the UA still able to create heroes? Because apparently your students aren’t even able to use their quirks to defend themselves’ asked the host looking at All might ‘ and why didn’t you search the whole city?’. Your face dropped did they really give up on you? did they really thought you’re weak and unable to defend yourself? Are you a disappointment? when Dabi noticed your sad face he quickly shut the TV before hearing All might’s statement . “ don’t mind them they’re wrong and they’ll regret it” said Shigaraki. You couldn’t face anyone especially Dabi so you left the room before breaking down into tears. “ ah Dabi you should teach her the villain spirit as soon as possible we can’t handle emotion here” exclaimed Shigaraki in annoyance. Dabi left the room to find you. He found you on the rooftop crying “(y\n)!!”you quickly wiped your tears but you couldn’t hide the redness and the puffiness “and managed to say “I hate them all” , “c-can I hold you?” said Dabi sitting next to you, you sniffed and nodded getting closer to him. His arms strongly held you to his chest, he played with your hair to help you relax a bit “you’re so good to me” you said out of the blue “ I can’t thank you enough” “ hey hey listen! They’ll regret what they said, they’ll regret underestimating you. All of them that host , your teachers , your classmates…they’re not worth your tears because soon you’ll make them cry in pain” he said proudly. At first you opposed the idea of causing serious injuries but after seeing the rumors and people’s reactions you realized that who you thought were innocent in the past are now you’re enemies “yes I will”you said as you tightened your grip around Dabi’s waist. The sun was setting and the breeze was refreshing everything was perfect especially you being in Dabi’s arms. You realized how much you needed this feeling in your life, how much you are touch straved and how much you needed only his touches. You pulled away and said “I’m sure I can do this Dabi I can make them suffer but I want you to be by my side…a-always” he grabbed your chin and looked at you, you got lost in his eyes “Dabi I love you” without hesitation he kissed you, his lips were soft sucking on your lower lip. You closed your eyes giving up to the sweet feeling, his hands rubbed your waist up to your chest and landing on your neck pulling you even closer. Your hands are lost in his hair tugging the soft strands. The kiss was passionate it was a mix of love, anger, sadness, happiness. Both of you finally pulled away breathless, breathing heavily and looking deeply at each other “wow” he said you blushed at his reaction “s-so we’re together now?” you asked playing with your hands “yes we are..and we’ll forever be” he answered flashing each other bright smiles. Months passed and you’re getting more and more into the villains’ work, you quickly learned all the rules and started thinking like them. Your
relationship with Shigaraki and the others got better and you put a bit of trust in them. You helped them setting evil plans like robbing places, kidnapping hostages and threatening people but you never showed your real identity you kept it for the big day as the other villains call it. The day where all of you will break into UA and set it on fire including all the teachers and students. You used your quirk perfectly actually it is more powerful. Training with Dabi improved your skills a lot “tch stupid teachers they didn’t see potential in me they only focused on that idiot Bakugo and Deku, now I can lift them and their audacity” you said to yourself wiping the sweat. You committed a lot of crimes along with Dabi, you were the badass duo pairing up together on each mission taking down people together, robbing and setting places on fire. It’s been a year now and tomorrow is the big day, after a lot of training after many tears whenever you remember your old self but also after many happy moments with your partner Dabi after many nights spent together feeling each other up, he made you feel like no one else on this planet finally you were ready to take down the place where you hoped to be the number one hero one day but look at you now. You looked at your reflection in the mirror and said “ you can do it (y\n), you’ll show them who’s the strongest “ a said smile drawn on your face, will you be able to hurt people that were a big part in your life? You were again spacing out when Dabi tapped your shoulder “we’ll do it together” you nodded then both of you laid on bed trying to sleep before starting the big mission. *In the morning* Dabi pecked your lips “ you’re ready babygirl?” “yeah”. You’ll be the first one to get into UA then you’ll help others to get in. you waited until everyone gathered then entered, the security guard was shocked to see you “ hello”you smiled “ long time no see “ he approached you to shake your hand “oh my god It’s nice to see you again (y\n) tell me what happened” “I’m sure you’ll know very soon sir” you smirked shaking his hand making him fall on the ground growling in pain he held his knees to his chest “please s-stop” “ I can’t I’m too lazy to inactivate my quirk” “p-plea-“ but before he can finish it he fainted. You’re quirk was too unbearable. You sent Dabi a message informing him to get in. Now you’re in the center of the school, you took you’re hood off and said “HELLO EVERYONE” everyone looked at you in shock. After a year? You came back? How did you escape the villains? Everyone rushed towards you hugging you “so now they’re acting like they care” you said to yourself while flashing them an innocent smile ”(y\n)”said Bakugo “you’re alive! “ he added and rushed towards you giving you a warm hug. You would be the happiest if they did that before, if they cared before, but it’s too late now. You waited for the right moment to affect them all with your quirk “young (y\l\n)” said All might rushing towards you “are you okay? I’m so proud of you! you fought alone” he added “glad to see you again” said Aizawa. “yes I’m okay, I’m alive” you stopped for a moment “ but soon all of you will be dead” you added giving them a cold stare, in less than a second everyone was on the ground hissing in pain most of them started crying begging you to stop “p-please!” “HELL NO I WONT STOP DO YOU KNOW THE PAIN I FELT WHEN I WAS A STUDENT HERE? ANSWER ME! HAH OF COURSE YOU WONT CAUSE YOU NEVER CARED” you said then the other villains joined you “ good job (y\n) !” exclaimed Shigaraki “what?” said Bakugo “h-how ? how could you do that? You joined them? You forgot about your friends and teac-“ “you did Bakugo! All of you did! Why are you putting all the blame on me huh? You didn’t even bother looking for me, I’m sure you didn’t even cry over the stupid rumors, and now enjoy mu ‘cursed touch’” “no we did all of us did” said Deku through pain, your heart ached a bit at his sight he was the only one beside Uraraka who treated you well. “ young (y\l\n) your friends spent days and nights looking for you they never
gave up on you, they all had hope that you’re alive , especially Bakugo they even encountered many of who you consider now friends ” you doubted his words a bit “then how come I didn’t know about-“ you stopped when you realized you looked back at Dabi and the others “ you knew about it?” “TELL HER YOU SCARRED FACE YOU TOLD ME THAT YOU KILLED HER”yelled Shoto “D-dabi? “ you looked at him in shock “w-why didn’t you tell me? You said that you’re not keeping secrets from the person you love” you said your voice cracking “WHY DID YOU LIE TO ME DABI?” “are they dating?” said shoto in disbelief , everyone trying to process the situation through the pain you planted in their boodies “haha person I love?” laughed Dabi “it’s not the first time lying to you babygirl you were too madly in love with me to be blinded like that”he added in an offensive tone you took a step towards him “D-dabi what do you mean? I thought you loved me you said I’m too special and-“ “and you fortunately believed it” “poor girl” said Shigaraki “you expect him to love a desperate UA student?” “your quirk is too powerful too strong that we needed it so bad” said Dabi “and after committing many crimes that we longed for and after reaching this point you’re useless” you stared blankly you hated the sympathy looks that you received from the teachers and students “I’ve never loved and I’ll never will such a fool *looked at you coldly* you really expected a villain like would love a stupid UA girl like you “ “how dare you?” you said in tears “I lost my friends, teachers and dream to be with you-“ “trust me even if you stayed at UA that lame dream of yours would never be achieved, you have the strongest quirk yes but you don’t have the potential, you’re too naïve to the point that we abducted you cause we knew you’re an easy target, easy to manipulate…villains hacks“ he laughed earning laughs from the others , at this point you tried to slap to Dabi but he dodged you making you fall on the ground “Not gonna lie that I had my fun with that delicate body but overall it was the worst year of my life ..stuck with you”. The effect of your quirk decreased, it was guided by your emotions and at that moment you felt weak and broken hearted. Eventually your quirk was inactivated; your body couldn’t handle or control it. The teachers and students were finally able to stand up and the fight began between the Heroes and the Villains. Everything around you moved in slow motion. You stared at the blurry scene in front of you because of all the tears. You collected yourself and left them fighting not able face the people you betrayed and not able to hurt the man you loved. You left everything behind trying to forget about what happened. You realized that you’re not meant to be neither a hero nor a villain you can just be a broken fool who believed a big lie called love.

hello! could you do an angsty fic based on the song yes to heaven by lana del rey where reader is pining after peter but he just doesn’t realize please?
This is actually really cute and I kinda dreaded writing it at first haha
If you dance, I'll dance
Peter was your best friend. Since kindergarten. You were there always, and you, like Ned (and now MJ) knew his deepest secret. And even though he knew you like the back of his hand, he didn't know your deepest secret.
Tonight was Prom. The biggest night of your life, or what was supposed to be and maybe it would be, but you knew that you hadn't been asked to Prom by anyone which meant going "alone" even though you had a group of friends you'd be with, but you knew that he had asked her and that was somehow worse than not having a date yourself.
You'd watched him go for Liz, and you supported him, and you were glad when she went away. You thought he'd remain your little, single, best friend, but then his attraction shifted to MJ and it was like a punch through your heart. You had been heart-eyes for him for so long and he never noticed and you knew that even if he did, it would never come to fruition because he was your best friend. You were his and that was a big no no. You could dream though right.
And if you don't, I'll dance anyway
You had a beautiful dress and pretty heels and your hair and makeup were done to the best of your cousin's ability. You knew that you weren't ugly (you weren't the prettiest in school but who wants that, they're bitches anyways) and you knew that at least a few pairs of eyes would be on you. Even if those weren't Peter's, it'd be okay. You could fill that void with… Flash Thompson or something.
You found the group near the back, Peter and MJ facing each other as they danced together, but not touching, and Ned makes a noise, drawing your eyes to him. Betty leans against him,
"Wow Y/N, you look…"
"Killer." Betty finishes for him, admiring you just as much as her on-again, off-again boyfriend had. Damn, everyone really had someone huh?
"Oh yeah, you look nice Y/N." Peter speaks up in that overly innocent voice of his, eyes never leaving your face before he diverts his attention back to MJ who doesn't even give you a glance. When had he ever not called you by a nickname? Was that something he started doing when she showed up, calling you by your formal first name?
Give peace a chance
You fall into the routine. Distracting yourself with the less obsessed with each other couples and the singles in your group, dancing and mingling, sipping punch and snacking on crackers and chips and dip. It was nice. For once you didn't feel like you had to distract yourself from them. It was natural. Grooving along as a few slow songs replace the upbeat ones you were grooving to and joining the loners on the benches brought back that overwhelming dull feeling you had whenever you watched Peter with his girlfriend. The way he swayed, arms wrapped around her waist, forehead pressed to hers. What it's like to be Ned and Betty, unphased by the fact that your best friend is so helplessly in love with someone else while all you can do is suffer in silence being in love with them. You swallow back the tears and the lump in your throat at the thought of Peter marrying her, having kids with her, and you being alone forever. You have to look away. Downing a few more glasses of punch, Betty and Ned strike up a conversation, letting you forget about the searing jealousy within you. And it's back to the dancing soon enough.
Peter and MJ are comfortable enough that her back presses to his chest and he wraps his arms around her and they sway, singing together. Her smile is bright and so is his and it kills you.
Let the fear you have fall away
She turns to him, a faint squeak sounding along the polished floor since she's worn tennis shoes and his smile widens when she says something to him.
You've been in love with Peter since Kindergarten, you're pretty sure. He's always been adorable and of course you've always tried to chalk it down to him just being like a brother to you, but it's so much more. You've never realized how much you really do love him. He's been by your side, he's helped you through personal and work related issues, he's confided in you when it came down to Spider-Man and the emotional toll it was taking on him. He leaned on you and you let him, and you held back the tears until he couldn't hurt you or comfort you. He was oblivious and you seemed fine with it but if he knew, you knew he'd hate himself and he'd beg for your forgiveness, but he surely would never make you what she is to him. Their relationship is too powerful and he doesn't like you like that. It would never happen. Maybe it's because he's never had to save you. You've never put yourself in harm's way.
I've got my eye on you
As you watch, with his strong arms wrapped around her, he leans in the same way she does and they kiss, so softly you can practically see how in love they are. You've never seen them kiss and you could really have gone without it.
You glance away but the heartbreak is already setting in. Your breaths are short, chest tight, eyes stinging as you fight the tears.
What hurts the most is that you'll never be her for him. He has someone he loves while you obsess over him. You have no one now, and he has everything he's ever wanted. Sure, you're happy for him, but it still kills you.
Turning, Betty reaches out to hold your wrist, eyebrows knitting together at the look on your face,
"Hey, what's the matter?" You shake your head,
"N-nothing. I need… I need fresh air."
"I'll go with-"
"No!" The outburst draws all kinds of eyes to you including MJ's and Peter's, his eyebrows knitting together. Betty jumps as if she's been stung and her eyes widen just a little, Peter straightening up as a tear slides down the side of your nose, "I just… I need to be alone."
I've got my eye on you
You dart away from the group, your heels clicking along the polished wood floor until you're pushing into the halls. The music is muffled behind the closed doors, allowing you to drop down to the floor and sob. The cracking in your chest is so damn painful. It feels like any moment, your heart will disconnect itself and leave your body to avoid the pain.
The tears splash off the floor and you'd hate to see how your makeup looks but you don't think you're going back in there. You can't will yourself to convince people you're fine. Especially not your group of friends. As you're picking yourself up from the floor, the doors behind you burst open and Peter emerges, reaching out for your arm. He doesn't realize it when you pull it out of his reach,
"What happened? Are you hurt?" You shake your head, brushing your tears from under your eyes,
"I'm fine."
"You don't really expect me to believe that do you? You're crying at prom, in the middle of the hallway." He states like its the most obvious thing. You swallow,
"I just need air."
"Okay… I'll go with you."
"No, I need to be alone."
"I've known you my whole life and I know you hate being alone." If he thinks he knows you so well, why doesn't he realize he's the one causing you so much pain?
"There's a lot I don't like Peter."
"What do you mean? Y/N, what's going on with you?" He asks.
Say yes to heaven
Turning to him, you stare into those cool brown eyes, eyes that have always calmed you and you can't help it. Your lip quivers,
"You don't always have to understand what's going on with Peter. I can handle myself."
"You know I believe you, but you don't have to hide it. You can tell me anything. I'm your best friend and I would kill for you." If only that were true. I mean… you'd never wish death on her but… it'd be easier. It'd lessen your panic. You shake your head,
"It's fine Peter. Just… go back inside." You turn to start away from him but he has so much that tells him your every move. Not only, as a normal human, can he read you like an open book, but with this new superhuman power thing, he senses when something is wrong. His face shows it,
"I'm not leaving you. Especially with all that… suicide, drunk driving crazy crap going on that surrounds prom. You're storming out of there for no reason, crying and I… you shouldn't be alone."
"Peter-"
"No, talk to me! I'm your best friend and I am not going to let you die and have to tell your parents, your family, our friends that I didn't do anything to protect you." He yells. He really thinks this is a call for help, and it is, but not that way. You scoff, wondering how boys are so oblivious, glancing at him as you lean against the handrail behind you.
Say yes to me
"You really wanna know?" You ask him softly. He nods, moving in closer,
"Of course. I hate seeing you in so much pain." He tells you. Your smile is sinister because he's so damn stupid. Closing your eyes and rubbing a hand across your face, you sigh,
"I like you." Is all you state at first. He frowns, eyes glancing down at the floor. He's confused because he likes you too but he would never think you like him that way unless it was directly stated, "I've liked you since we were kids. And yeah, I'm so, so, so happy for you for having a girlfriend that loves you and you love her, but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt for me. You'll never love me like that and that's fine but… I can't just watch you guys be in love. It fucking kills me." You explain to him. His mouth hangs open in shock and you cross your arms,
"I can't pretend to be fine around you guys. You and Ned got girlfriends and all and yeah, maybe I could get a boyfriend and it would hurt less but you know I love your personality and I always have and I don't know that anyone will ever come close to that. So now I'm alone and I'm not going to take you from her to pity me so I don't really… have a best friend anymore. If I want to be around you I guess I can just come find you and be a third wheel." You tell him.
Say yes to heaven
You watch his eyes change. He's panicking a little,
"Are you saying… you don't wanna be friends anymore?"
"It's not that we can't, it's that I… I don't know if I have it in me to put up this facade. I'm not telling you to give her up, I'm just saying… I think… now that we're about to split up for college… maybe it's time to start doing it now. I- it hurts too bad and I just… I can't."
"Y/N, please don't do this. You've been my best friend for decades. Why can't we just… I mean… I can figure out how to split my time between the two of you."
"No you can't. That's not fair to her and I'm not going to do that to you two. It's just better if I move on. I'll probably go to California for college anyways. It's for the best to separate ourselves now." You conclude. You don't know what will hurt worse, but after a while, you'll hurt less moving on without him. He takes another step forward,
"Y/N, c'mon, you can't do this."
"I won't ruin your life and I won't hurt myself because I have a selfish little crush on you I would've never acted on." You tell him. You stand and stare at each other before you stand and brush your tears from beneath your eyes, sighing,
"You're destined for greatness Peter Parker and it would've happened eventually. Now just gives me a reason to start." You tell him, voice shaky. His face softens,
"I don't wanna lose you." He says, his voice just as shaky. You shrug, crossing your arms and preparing yourself to walk away from your best friend for the last time. You sigh,
"I'm not going back in there. This is kinda… it. I have to go home."
"At least let me take you."
Say yes to me
"No! You have a girlfriend in there and I'm not going to let you! Goddammit Peter, I have to get away from you, don't you get that? I can't be what I need to and it hurts too much. Just… fuck off." The look on his face is pure pain. He hates that you're abandoning him. And maybe you should be forced to settle as just his friend, but you can't. You can't sit back and watch them be happy together. The pain is unbearable. They're better off without you and your selfish jealousy. He's better off without you,
"Y/N, don't do this. You're just as important as MJ, I can't go without talking to you. Please." You hold up a hand as he nears you again. You stare into each other's eyes, tears in both sets. You shake your head,
"I'll never be more to you than her. Maybe when we were kids but… we're different now."
"Y/N-" You shake your head again, swallowing the lump. You know he feels the same way you do. The pure dread of giving up your best friend because the love you feel for him is just too strong, "please." He whispers. It breaks your heart further as you meet his eyes again and sniffle,
"Goodbye Peter." You say. And you turn your back, and walk away from your ex-best friend. And it stings. But hopefully it will keep your heart in your body staying away from him. God you hope so.

Tonight we're fading fast I just wanna make this last If I could say the things I want to say, I'd find a way to make you stay I'd never let you get away Get you in all the games we play
So go ahead, rip my heart out, Show me what love's all about Go ahead, rip my heart out That's what love's all about
I want you to want me this way, And I need you to need me to stay If you say that you don't feel a thing If you don't know, let me go, let me go, let me go, let me go If you don't know then just let me go
Let's forget the past I swear we'll make this last 'Cause I remember the taste of your skin tonight And the way that you looked, you had those eyes I remember the way I felt inside And the name of the songs that made you cry You would scream, we would fight, you would call me crazy I would laugh, you were mad but you'd always kiss me And the shirt that I had that you always borrowed When I woke, it was gone There was no tomorrow

NIALL
It was extremely hurtful to push her away. In fact, it was horrible, even worse than when I did it in the first few weeks after we met, mostly because now, I loved her, and I knew she loved me too. When she told Abby off, I was a bit surprised. I knew they wouldn't be friends but I didn't think Devon would actually have the guts to say these things in front of everyone but if I had to be honest with myself, I liked it. I did it to her ex boyfriend, she did it to my ex girlfriend... To me, it just showed that we cared about each other and didn't want to other to get hurt again. I also felt like it proved the feelings we had for each other because I could pretend the opposite, but there was also a tiny bit of jealousy in the way we told each other's exes off.
I knew Abby and although I didn't like the way she was acting with me, I was also aware that pushing her away would only make her try harder. She was exactly like a boomerang and even if I had no intention to give in to any of her propositions, not answering was still my best bet. I wanted to tell Devon about it but I didn't have a second alone with her and whenever I tried to talk to her, Abby would interrupt me to get my attention back.
The conversation we had alone in the dark street was rough on my heart and it kept playing over and over again in my head for the rest of the evening. I was lost in my thoughts and even felt bad for Louis when I realized Abby was trying to get his attention. She never really knew what she wanted and to me, it only proved she wanted nothing except feeling special. Perhaps, the way I loved her didn't make her feel special enough but at that point in my life, I didn't give a fuck.
I wanted to talk to Lewis but he was busy pushing Daxia between him and the wall for the rest of the night and when I was about to leave, Abby ran back to me to have an long chat about what she was doing, what she planned on doing, and how we should spend time together again. I also had to walk back to campus, too drunk to take my car, and when I got back in my room, I tried to be quiet but I quickly realized that Devon was not asleep for the simple fact that she was not snoring. She pretended to be asleep though and I decided it meant she didn't want to talk. Anyway, we were both way too fucked to have a discussion. Still, I couldn't help but stand near her for a few minutes, just watching her, as creepy as it sounded. She was obsessing me in a way I didn't understand. I had obsessed over Abby for months, yet it never felt the way it felt with Devon, and I had no idea why.
I woke up early the next morning to go get my car and when I stopped near her bed, she was snoring low. My lips curled sadly on the left when I realized she was wearing my shirt and I took off the hoodie I was wearing to lay it down on my bed, in hope that she'd see it and wear it.
I told her I wasn't going to have sex with her anymore but it was not because I didn't want to. With Abby coming back, it made me realize that perhaps, I was ready for more with Devon, and yelling to her that I loved her had an effect I didn't expect. I could see in her face that she was actually surprised, as if she didn't really think I had these feelings for her. To me it was obvious but perhaps I was not as transparent as I thought.
I spent the morning working on a new song and had to kick myself mentally to make sure I'd go to my classes in the afternoon. I had so many feelings stuck inside me that it was hard to focus on anything else, especially anything school related.
It was only near the end of the afternoon that I saw her and my heart twisted in my chest. It was crazy how much I missed her. After spending so many days together, 24/7, being away from her for almost a whole day seemed impossible but it was still happening. She was laughing with Louis but there was sadness in her eyes and they met mine, her smile fell and her lips parted. She brought her shoulders closer to her face and sent me an embarrassed smile. That's when I realized she was wearing my hoodie and it made me smile.
I didn't know why I expected Devon to be the kind of girl who would scream her feelings. Of course, she had never told me she loved me with words, but just seeing her wearing my clothes even if we were mad at each other told me she had feelings for me. Everyone has their own way to express their feelings. Of course, it's easier when it's clearly said, but words are still just words. Actions speak louder, even if they're made obliviously. She had always been secretive, almost hiding who she was and how she felt. I even wrote a damn song about it, so why was it so surprising that she couldn't tell me that she loved me? And was it selfish to want it anyway? To need it?
Louis made a quick head movement and Devon started nibbling on her bottom lip as I stood there motionless like an idiot. I was thinking I could just grab some food and go back to the music room to write some more or at least, to play something. I knew I could just go back to my room with my guitar but I couldn't seem to clear my mind when I was there, and I knew it would be worse if Devon was there and at the same time, I was desperate to spend time with her or at least, around her. She just moved her hand up as a 'hello' and I did the same. How could you feel so close to someone and at the same time, so far?
I finally sighed and walked back to my room a bit reluctantly. I worked on a school project for about an hour and finally gave up since I was not able to focus at all. I decided to take a shower before to play guitar and a few minutes after I got out, the door opened and Devon appeared. Her lips parted, she held her breath and she quickly closed her eyes, making me chuckle.
"Oh god, I'm sorry!" she let out, shutting her eyes tighter as I grabbed a towel to wrap it around my waist.
"No worries, Devie. You can open your eyes." I said, amused. "Nothing you haven't seen before."
She licked her lips and after a few seconds, her eyes fluttered open only to meet mine. She smiled shyly and I noticed some dark paint on her face. It made me realized she painted a lot with dark blue and greys these days and I was not sure it was a good thing.
"Your turn." I just told, walking past her to give her some privacy.
"You can stay!" she quickly proposed. "Nothing you haven't seen before."
I turned around and she looked nervous, nibbling again on her bottom lip. She grabbed the bottom of my hoodie that she was wearing and when she took it off, my heart skipped a beat as I realized she was wearing nothing under it. I knew it took her a lot to expose herself to me like that, and I was torn between giving her what she was clearly asking, or holding on to what I had told her not even 24 hours before. My eyes roamed on her face and down to her chest despite myself. I wanted to touch her so bad it was driving me a bit insane. I thought about sliding hands on her breasts to feel her hard nipples on my palms but just cleared my throat and blinked a few times, trying to get rid of the images in my head.
I took a step closer and her lips parted. It felt like I didn't have control on my legs anymore and I stopped in front of her, looking down in her eyes. I brought my hand up slowly to push a lock of her hair behind her ear and she raised her eyebrows in surprise.
"I... think I'll just go get dressed."
It was so pathetic. I was there in only a towel and she was standing in front of me, shirtless and literally begging me with her eyes to fuck her, but I was about to leave anyway. The less I was thinking with my head, the more I wondered why the fuck I had decided to stop having sex with her, and I knew that the longer I stayed, the harder it would be to leave. I took a step back but suddenly, she grabbed the towel around my waist and I held my breath.
"Niall!" she almost yelled before swallowing hard. "Please."
I could feel the back of her fingers against my skin as she held me by the towel. They were so close to my dick it actually made my heartbeats accelerate.
"Devie, I can't."
"Niall I fucking miss you."
I put my hand over hers, pulling it away frim me but still squeezed her fingers, my eyes never leaving hers. "I'm sorry."
It took everything in me to just turn around and leave and when I closed the door behind myself, I leaned against it and closed my eyes. My head made a light thud when it fell against the wood and I let out a few curse words under my breath.
My heart dropped in my chest when I heard her sob on the other side of the door but quickly, she started the shower and I couldn't hear anything else.
How could I tell her that if she didn't love me, I couldn't keep having sex with her because it hurt too much? How could I explain to her that I loved her so much that it made me want die thinking I'd never have a chance with her? I stayed against the door for so long what actually took me out of my thoughts was when she stopped the shower. I forced myself to walk to my bed after breathing in deeply and quickly put a pair of sweatpants on and a t-shirt. I sat in my bed just as she got out of the bathroom and I noticed she was wearing my shirt again.
"That's my hoodie." I just said blatantly, running my fingers on the strings of my guitar.
I was sitting with my back against the wall, if only to face her and be able to see her better.
"Oh yea, sorry, let me just grab a new shirt and I'll go get changed."
I frowned a bit, wondering why she'd suddenly feel the need to hide in the bathroom to change but I just licked my lips. "No it's cool you keep it." I sent her a small smile. "Looks better on you anyway."
She pressed her lips together and nodded slowly before sitting on her bed. "Thank you."
I noticed her tired eyes and how sad she seemed to be and remembered the sob I heard through the door. I didn't want to make her sad. In fact, I wanted to make her happy every single day, I just didn't know how without hurting myself in the process, and I didn't want this to be a rerun of the past relationship I had. Abby had fucked me up but at least, now, I knew what I didn't want in a relationship.
I stared at her for a few minutes in silence and she finally leaned against the wall as we faced each other. I wanted to apologize for not touching her earlier but I knew it wouldn't change anything. I could also read on her face that she had so many questions and I was not sure I had the answers. My fingers ran again in the strings as I started a song. I noticed her eyes falling on my hands and I couldn't remember the last time I felt so nervous to sing in front of someone. I was sort of used to it in my classes and I was never the shy type, but she meant so much to me and I wanted her to enjoy everything I wrote, especially if it was about her.
"Someday, it could be more than we intended And we'll be happy that we waited When it's all been said and done Oooh, and you have changed me And we both got what we wanted And looking back it's complicated But we would've happened all along
So keep this open There won't be any more hearts that are broken Hold on, hold on
Don't leave me wastin' all alone Wondering where the time has gone I know it's hard to keep keeping on Don't leave me wasted
Don't leave me wastin' by myself Let's leave emotions on the shelf I swear there ain't nobody else Don't leave me wasted Don't leave me wasted"
I stopped playing and Devon sent me a sad smile, wrapping her arms around her knees and leaning her chin on the top of them.
"It's beautiful." she expressed very low, licking her lips. "Gave me goosebumps."
I wanted her close. I wanted to ask her to come on my bed with me and take her in my arms. I wanted to press her body so hard against mine that I could imagine us melt into each other. I wanted to tell her how much I loved her and hear her say it back. Instead, I smiled slightly at her back.
"Thank you." I whispered and let out a sigh. "You know, I didn't want to hurt you."
"No, it's okay, I'm okay." she quickly replied even if we both knew it was a lie. "I mean, you don't have to want me, or have sex with me. I'm sorry I just got half-naked in front of you, it was wrong of me."
I stared at her a few seconds and  put my guitar away to lean my wrists on my knees. "I was talking about last night."
Her traits softened and her lips parted. She shrugged a shoulder and glanced away before looking back at me. "You didn't hurt me. I was just pissed, in both senses. You can flirt with Abby all you want, you're right, it's none of my business."
"That's not what I said last night and you know it, Devie." I pointed out calmly,
Her face changed and she seemed to tear up and I tried to push away the urge I had to go sit next to her and take her in my arms.
"I know."
---
Two weeks and a half. That's how long it had been since I had felt Devon's lips against mine. Two weeks and a half since I had told her that I loved her. Two weeks without much interaction with her. It felt like the first few weeks she had moved in, when I desperately tried to hate her without success. I was longing for her in a way I hadn't longed for anyone in a while, if ever, but I resisted.
It was the weekend and all I wanted was to get wasted. We all ended up in a bar but after too many beers, I didn't even feel creepy to stare at her as she danced. It reminded me of that time she danced in my living room wearing only my sweatshirt and panties, right before we danced together on a slow song. Why did it feel like years ago? Why couldn't I just go to her and tell her that it was alright, that we would just keep on having sex and that I'd push all the love I have for her away if I could feel myself inside her again? I scoffed at that thought and shook my head. Why? Because it was impossible for me to ignore these feelings. They were monopolizing my whole heart and mind and there was nothing I could do about it.
I heard a loud laughter near me and I recognized Abby immediately. I had no idea who invited her but I couldn't say I was happy she was here. I got out of my thoughts when someone put an other beer in front of me and Louis finally sat down next to me before glancing a Devon and then back at me again.
"She's a stubborn girl." he let out, turning on his stool to face me. "Trust me, I tried."
"I'm just meant to fall for girls who don't want me. I'm cursed." I explained before swallowing half the beer he had just given me.
"You know she loves you." Louis sighed. "She's just scared, especially of Abby and the feelings you could still have for her."
"I don't give a fuck about Abby."
"I know, but Dev.. she's heard it before, you know? She doesn't want to go through it again. She's trying to spare her heart."
"I should have done that too." I realized, shaking my head as I still stared at her. "Should have tried hating her harder."
"Yea, that wouldn't have worked."
"Fuck, look at her."
I hated what I was seeing in front of me. Devon was with Mandy's brother and she was genuinely laughing at something he said. I could tell in the way he was looking at her that he was interested and suddenly, anger invaded my whole body and I got up quickly, my chair scratching on the floor and making a horrible sound.
"I'm gonna kill him."
Louis jumped up too, grabbing my arm and turning me around to face him. He forced me to move and it was hard for me to fight him since I was already pissed. He tapped my cheek as my back was now facing them and I groaned, moving my head away from his hand.
"Niall, calm the fuck down." Louis let out a bit too loud. "That's not how you're gonna convince her to date you!"
I was about to answer something when I felt someone grab my arm and suddenly tensed. I turned only to see Abby who was sending me a smile and I just shook my head a bit, suddenly extremely annoyed.
"No! Not you and not now!" I yelled, taking a step back.
My ex girlfriend's smile fell and she frowned a bit. I could read in her face that I had hurt her a bit but I was way too hurt myself to care at all.
"Thanks for your advices Louis, but I don't need 'em!"
I turned around and noticed Devon and Noah were already looking at me. Perhaps I had talked louder than I thought and my eyes moved from one to the other before I sighed.
"Fuck that."
I could threaten Noah all I wanted or tell him to fuck off, I knew it wouldn't change anything. It wouldn't make Devon fall in love with me or want to date me and that's all I really wanted. Anything that wouldn't bring me to this goal was counterproductive to me.
I turned around quickly and walked to the toilets, pushing on the door and leaning my hands on the counter, my eyes closed. I was going insane and I knew it felt worse because I was drunk but I couldn't help it and felt my eyes water. Perhaps, getting hammered was a bad idea and I should have known that I always ended up feeling so much when Devon was closed. I heard my phone beep a few times, telling me I had a text message, but I couldn't look at them. I felt my arms started shaking lightly and I swallowed my pain the best I could.
What was there to hope for, now? What could you do when you felt like you tried everything?

Kageyama & Twin! Male Reader
Summary: Kageyama believes Y/N, his twin brother, is the complete opposite of him, which means they have to hate each other.  The only thing is that Y/N didn’t get the memo.
Pairings: None
Warnings: Angst, swearing, and some fighting.
Word Count: 7,193
Notes: I’m still struggling to write reader insert things.  This was actually my first one to write, so I hope it’s not too bad.  Also, feel free to send in requests.
*****
It typically felt like everyone forgot Kageyama had a twin brother, and he fine with it.  They were nothing alike, which also caused Y/N to ask him what the point in even being twins was.  Tobio would just remind his brother was bitter they didn’t have any special twin powers, and the y/h/c boy never disagreed.
Y/N was pretty good when it came to school; he studied, made good grades, and teachers really liked him. He said it was because he could actually focus without thinking about which play to bring up to the team next practice, and Kageyama always threw a pillow at him for it.  When Kageyama was desperate to be tutored and went to Yachi, his brother actually got angry with him.
“We literally live in the same house and I make the same grades as Yachi-chan!” Y/N yelled one night when Kageyama couldn’t figure out a problem.  His brother had offered to help but declined.
“I never asked for you help!” Kageyama screamed, and soon enough it was just a screaming match.
There came a time where it had been decided one would be good at school and the other wouldn’t. It was accepted to think that, even if Kageyama refused it by saying he was good at school too.  No one ever said anything about it to him on how he was wrong even if Y/N always made over 80’s and Kageyama had never gotten anything close to that.
 *****
Y/N had a lot of friends. He could just smile at someone for them to talk to him and they were already calling him Y/N-san, never using his surname.  Kageyama was sure it was because he was ashamed of being related to him, but he had to admit it was easier to know who was.  They were fraternal twins, so it wasn’t like it was hard to tell them apart but when speaking about them or speaking to both of them at once, it helped.
Y/N always went on about the fact that if Tobio just spent time trying to talk to people and how to smile, then he could be so popular.  He didn’t have to wear things that Y/N did, because ‘it wouldn’t fit your aesthetic’ but he could just dress to impress more.  Kageyama constantly told him to stop teasing him, even if Y/N kept telling him he wasn’t trying to.
His brother could get anything he wanted if he just barely tried.  He was extremely pretty and used it to his advantage.  He could smile, unlike Kageyama, and it was his biggest weapon. Y/N wore sweaters nearly every day, sometimes a pastel orange hoodie, and all the girls constantly talked about him.
“Did you see Y/N-chan today? He looks so cute today,” a girl said in Kageyama’s class during lunch, and he rolled his eyes.  If only she knew that he dressed cute just to manipulate everyone into thinking he was a good person.
Kageyama walked past the two, going to the vending machine like he did every day.  He had to walk by the girls who were speaking about his brother though.
“Oh, I always forget he’s related to Kageyama,” one of them whispered as he passed. “Y/N-chan is so cute and nice unlike his brother.”
It never really bothered Kageyama, the whispers, because it came with being related to someone apparently so cute.  It pissed him off when he was compared to his brother by those who didn’t know them. If they spent that time talking about the differences in the two, they could instead be talking about the volleyball team and how they were going to win nationals.
When he made it to the vending machine near the gym, Y/N was waiting next to it with a milk in hand to give to his brother.  He was smiling at Kageyama, and it pissed the setter off for some reason.  Maybe it was the fact he heard those girls comparing the two as he left the class, or maybe it was the fact Y/N knew where he always got his milk from.  He was just pissed.
“What are you doing here?” Kageyama barked at his brother, and Y/N didn’t look fazed by the angry outburst.  It was the way the black haired boy spoke, why would it faze him?
“I wanted to eat with you. I noticed you forgot your bento box, and I made enough to share,” Y/N said with a small smile that only his family saw. “We could eat on the gym steps.”
“Don’t you have friends to eat with instead?” Kageyama asked, and the y/h/c boy retreated slightly into himself.
“I guess, but I wanted to eat with you,” Y/N said before a wide smile appeared on his face as turned to pull something out his bag. “I have something I’ve been meaning to show you!”
“I don’t want to see it,” Kageyama snapped before the other could even put his hand in his bag. “I don’t even want to eat with you, leave me alone.”
His brother frowned as he zipped his bag up and shoved the bento box into the other’s chest. “Okay, you need this more than me though.  Sorry for bothering you.”
Y/N walked off without looking back at Kageyama.  It was obvious he was extremely annoyed, but Kageyama was sure he didn’t care about that. He opened the bento box to see all his favorites packed in it, even things his brother hated.  Maybe he had given him his own bento box instead sharing his. Either way it annoyed him that the other thought he was being a knight in shining armor by just giving him food and some milk.
*****
Girls really liked Y/N, and Kageyama could see why but didn’t know why.  His brother was known as a pretty boy, every girl spoke about him at least once when talking about attractive boys at Karasuno.  It seemed like he was always being confessed to, but he was the worst as rejecting them.  Multiple girls had ended up crying because of it.
“Yachi-chan,” Y/N said as he walked into the gym before the team’s afternoon practice.  The blonde girl looked over at him with a squeak from not knowing he’d be there.   The first year boy had somehow managed to already change out of his uniform into a pastel blue t-shirt and black shorts.
He made eye contact with Kageyama across the gym, there was a hint of mischief in his gaze.  A small smile played on his lips before turning into a charming one as he looked back over to Yachi.  The sight of his brother made him want to scream, he hated when his brother came to practice without permission.
“Oh, Y/N-chan, what are you doing here?” Yachi asked, and the y/h/c boy’s smile turned into a small pout, which caused Yachi to go into a small freak out. “Not that it’s an issue you’re here!”
“All I want is to see my favorite brother play volleyball, is that not allowed?” Y/N asked, his voice sounding even sadder than he typically did whenever he wanted something. “I understand if it’s not.
“I’m your only brother, idiot!” Kageyama yelled from across the gym only for his brother to look over at him with sad eyes, which made Tobio want to scream even louder.
He hated how his brother could get nearly anything he wanted with just a single look.  His smile got him the most things, because it was just ‘too cute’ and Kageyama had always been slightly jealous that he couldn’t smile like the other could.  All of the photos of the two in their house had a smiling Y/N holding up peace signs and a frowning or attempting to smile Tobio next to him.  They would always share as children though, Y/N would get something if Tobio hadn’t gotten it just to share or give to him.  One day Kageyama told him he no longer wanted the other’s things, and he’s always say it was a pride thing even if he wondered if it had put wedge between them.
“You don’t actually want to watch me play,” Kageyama said, voice angrier than before but not as loud. His brother threw his head back with a small groan before he looked over at Kageyama.  Everyone was watching them, because they rarely had actual conversations around the team.
“I do want to watch you, but I’m also trying to avoid a girl who wants to confess,” Y/N admitted as he started to walk over to Kageyama.
“Why not just let her confess?” Suga asked as he put his water bottle by the wall.
“Last time I rejected someone, she begged me to consider just dating me without even liking her because I’d eventually fall in love with her.  I kept telling her it wouldn’t happen, and she started crying, and I’m scared this one will be like that one,” Y/N said with a stressed look in his eye.
“Okay, I understand your fear now,” Suga said, and Y/N groaned once again.
“Why don’t you just go to the club room like you do every day?” Kageyama snapped. “She won’t find you there.”
“O-oh,” Y/N stuttered out slightly as he looked down at the floor. “I’m sorry, I didn’t think of that.
“You never think, dumbass,” Kageyama snapped at his brother, and the other first year looked up at him with an amused smile.
“Says the kid who has never passed a test,” Y/N said with a smirk before turning to everyone else and walking out of the gym. “See you after practice.”
“I wish your brother was on the team!” Noya exclaimed when he got in the gym, it was obvious the two had just passed each other. “It would be cool to have two Kageyama brains.”
“I don’t think it would ever be a good idea to have them on the same team,” Suga said with a chuckle, and Kageyama looked over at the third year. “They argue constantly.”
“I think it would be a great idea!” Hinata exclaimed as he picked up a volleyball. “He tells me my jumps are all gaah, and he’s so nice and pretty and he makes me feel like we’re actually friends!”
“He’s definitely nice, too nice for his own good,” Tanaka said before yelling. “Why must all the girls like that pretty boy!”
“Maybe because he’s not an idiot,” Tsukishima said coolly, and Yamaguchi snickered next to him. Tanaka growled, and Kageyama was pissed.
Volleyball was supposed to be his thing, even they had played together as kids.  Y/N stopped playing volleyball their first year of junior high and joined the creative writing club, where he actually did pretty good in.  He had won some award for a short story he wrote that Kageyama never read because he was mad his brother had quit volleyball.
When it just became Kageyama on the court, he didn’t want to hear Y/N’s name.  It reminded him of betrayal and hurt.  He also wondered what Y/N would’ve been like with Oikawa, if his charm would’ve worked against the senior.  Seeing Y/N in the gym and hearing his name while he played the one thing that was his, just made him livid.  Why couldn’t he just have one thing?
*****
Everyday Y/N waited for Kageyama in the club room so they could walk home together.  He worked on homework as he waited, sometimes wrote for his club activities, but never said much when the team would come in after practice.  He was normally chatty, but in the club room it’s like he turned off that part of him, and Kageyama was sure it was to piss him off.
Kageyama was livid from his brother coming into the gym hours before, and when he entered the club room to see his brother leaned against the wall on his phone; something in Kageyama snapped.  He stomped forward to tower over his twin, who looked up at him curiously.
“Why do you always wait on me?” Kageyama snapped, his brother’s eyes widened in shock.  They’d never acted like this in public, because they never fought in front of people because it was considered rude by their mother.
“What do you mean?” Y/N asked as he squint his eyes up the boy.  It was almost like he was trying to test him without actually doing it. “Are you saying you wouldn’t wait for me?”
“Why would I wait for you!” Kageyama screamed, and the other was soon on his feet.  They were in each other’s space, and Y/N still had some lazy smirk on his face.
“We live in the same house, dumbass,” he said with a roll of his eyes, and Kageyama didn’t know why his brother wasn’t livid. “Also, one of us always forgets the key and it’s always empty.”
“I’d rather it be empty than you be there,” Kageyama snapped, and Y/N took a step closer into Kageyama’s space as a fire come alive in his y/e/c eyes.
“What’s your deal,” he asked, venom dripping from his voice, and Kageyama took a step back only for Y/N to take a step forward. “Why do you hate me so much?  Come on tell all of us!”
The team had filed into the club room, but no one had done anything to intervene.  No one knew if you were supposed to step in when siblings were fighting, or if you just let it happen.  Kageyama caught Suga’s gaze, which screamed for him to just stop and drop it, but the first year didn’t.
“You’re you, that’s why,” Kageyama sneered as Y/N smirk disappeared into a thin line with his jaw clenched. “I don’t give two shits about anything you do, but everyone else does! I just wish I didn’t have to hear about you or see you!”
Suddenly Kageyama was being pinned to the wall by his brother, who was in his face more than ever now.  They’d never had a fight like this before, one where Y/N actually got physical.
“You think you’re so tough and scary!” Y/N screamed, and it was obvious he was about to hit the setter when he was pulled away by Tsukishima and Daichi.  Suga held back Kageyama.
Kageyama went to surge forward, but Suga grabbed his shoulder and Tanaka grabbed the other one. The sight of his brother wearing some ridiculous pastel orange hoodie with shorts being held back by his teammates made him laugh.
“Oh, so this is all so funny to you?” Y/N screamed, obviously a lot angrier than the other. “Well congratulations, Tobio!  You don’t have deal with me ever again!  Have fun home alone!”
Tanaka had thrown the y/h/c bag over to him, and the first year glared at Kageyama as if he wanted him dead.  Sure, the black haired boy was angry, but it was almost as if the tables had been turned until his brother spoke again.
“See you never, dickhead!” He called out as he flipped the setter off and exited the room.
Kageyama was now having to be forcefully held back from leaving the room.  He was on the verge of only seeing red.  How dare his brother speak to him like that.  What was wrong with him?  The setter usually went to play volleyball after their fights, to calm him, but he knew it would anger him even more.
“Hey, Kageyama, take a deep breath,” Suga said as Daichi walked over to the two setters.  He looked pissed, but the first year didn’t care for once.
He noticed Hinata behind Daichi with a lot of the other teammates, he looked shocked for some reason. Probably because his precious Y/N turned out to not be what everyone thought he was, even though Kageyama had always known.
“What’s going on with you?” Daichi snapped, which made Kageyama look the third year in the eyes with a sharp look.
“Why do you care?” Kageyama asked, and he really meant it.  Why did they care about him right now, usually people were running off to comfort his brother at this point.
“Because you’re my teammate. You matter to us,” Daichi said sternly, and Kageyama rolled his eyes with a scoff.
“Why are you so mean to Y/N-chan?” Hinata asked, and Kageyama glared at the ginger from across the room.  If he could, he probably would’ve already been fighting the middle blocker.
“I’m mean?  Did you not just see how he treated me?” Kageyama snapped. “He’s the one who is being mean!”
“Dude, all he had been doing was waiting on you to go home,” Tanaka said, causing Kageyama to look at him. “You started acting like a dick for no reason.  He treated you that way because you treat him that way.
“Why are you still defending him?  He showed you that he’s not what you guys think he is!  He’s not charming or nice or cool or whatever you say!” Kageyama screamed, and he could feel himself getting so angry he could cry soon. “He’s an asshole just like me!”
Suga turned him to look at him, and he scared the first year a little.  There was so much annoyance and anger in his eyes, and it reminded the first year that his upperclassman wasn’t just a soft and reassuring person, but also aggressive.  It was obvious the third year was ready to go off when the door opened to reveal a very angry Yachi.
“What did you do?” Yachi asked as she pointed at Kageyama, there was anger in her voice but not enough to scare him.
“Nothing?” Kageyama questioned, not sure what she was asking.
“Oh, so me running into an extremely upset Y/N because you told him you basically don’t want to be his brother is nothing?” Yachi asked, and now she was starting to get scary.
“It’s none of your business!” Kageyama yelled for the blonde to flinch slightly. “Just leave it!”
Yachi looked conflicted before she took a deep breath and stared at Kageyama with a challenging look. “No.  I’m not going to leave it when one of my best friends is upset.”
“Do you know if he even wants to be your friend or if he’s manipulating you?” Kageyama asked, and he knew that Y/N was just trying to take his team away, he couldn’t actually befriend them.
“Enough with it, Kageyama!” Suga yelled as he yanked the other to look at him. “We all know he’s an asshole!  You two are so alike there, but he just knows how to hide it better than you!”
“We’re nothing alike!”
Thy couldn’t be alike, because they were different.  Fraternal in everything, especially the way Y/N had left Kageyama when he needed him most; Tobio wouldn’t have done that.  His brother was something else, maybe worse than an asshole, and no one was seeing it.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re alike or not,” Yachi said as she walked closer to the setter, never getting too close to him. “You two are family!”
“You don’t know anything about our family,” Kageyama sneered slightly, because he knew he only had Y/N in the house with him now since Miwa had left and mom rarely home.
“I know that he loves you,” Yachi said, not backing down. “He started making a scrapbook for this season, but it mainly focuses around you.  We became such close friends because he needed help with something that was meant for you.”
“A scrapbook?” Kageyama asked, and he remembered how his mother used to make them all the time when they were really young.  Miwa would help her as Y/N stared at it in amazement, and Kageyama practiced outside with his volleyball.
“Yes, he said you may really like it.  He made sure to buy one big enough for three years, because he wants you to have something to remember years from now.  The scrapbook is done now though, he said there’s no point in continuing if you hate him,” Yachi explained, and Hinata stepped up beside her.
Kageyama couldn’t help but think about all the times Y/N had been running cold water on burnt fingers with the excuse of burning himself with candles. Or the countless band aids on his fingers from actually getting into thorns.  It made sense for it to end up being from making a scrapbook, but the first year didn’t want to accept his brother wanting to do something for him like this.
“He went to every game you had just to buy tickets, asked me to bring him a schedule from the Tokyo training camp, and there were mainly photos of you he had taken at games.  I told him to just become a manager, but he told me that you’d hate it and he’d just stay on the sidelines,” Yachi continued, she trying to not scream but everyone could feel it coming on soon.
“How was I supposed to know any of this?” Kageyama barked back. “It’s not like he told me!”
“Kageyama, how is Y/N supposed to know to tell you anything when all you do is push him away?” Daichi asked as he placed a hand on the first year’s shoulder, and it made Kageyama fall silent for a moment before started to get angry once again.
“You guys don’t know anything!” Kageyama screamed, pulling out of Daichi’s grip. “I was the one who was pushed away, not him!”
“Kageyama, calm down!” Suga screamed as he made him look at him, maybe now he was going to say what he wanted. “Y/N is your twin brother, and it doesn’t matter who pushes who away or how different you are!  You guys are actually really alike, but neither of you see it!”
“We’re not alike!” Kageyama screamed back, and he didn’t know why it made him so angry.  He remembered wanting to be like his brother when he was younger because of how much people liked him.  He wanted to be like Y/N because he always had everyone’s attention, especially when they played volleyball as kids.
“You are though!” Noya screamed, obviously getting riled up from everyone around him.
Kageyama noticed only the starting lineup, Suga, Yachi, and Yamaguchi were the only ones left in the clubroom with him, even though the majority of them hadn’t said a word. Yamaguchi looked pissed off, and Kageyama wasn’t sure as to why.
“No, we aren’t!” He screamed back. “Everyone likes him.  He’s smart, funny, cute, and someone everyone wants to be friends with!  He’s always had more friends than I do, and always had people who call him by his given name!”
Everyone stared at him as if he had confessed something so secretive.  It was common knowledge that Y/N was the ‘better twin’ in those aspects, and there shouldn’t be shocked expressions surrounding him.
“You’re both assholes,” Tsukishima said, breaking the silence. “That’s how you’re like each other. Just because Y/N is better at being secretive about it doesn’t mean you’re completely different.”
“It’s like he could tell you that you look like shit, but it seems like a compliment because of how he says it.  You just can’t hide aggression,” Yamaguchi added, and Hinata looked like he was on fire for a second.
“He’s also obsessed with writing just like you are with volleyball!” Hinata exclaimed, and Kageyama rolled his eyes. “No, really!  He’s always writing! The other day he was writing during lunch by himself as he ate!”
Kageyama stared at everyone and didn’t know what to say.  He wasn’t like Y/N, he just couldn’t be.  His entire life had been only seeing the differences from the way they looked to the way people interacted with them.  They didn’t understand what he meant when he said they were completely different.
“You’re just jealous, Kageyama,” Yachi said, she started look like her normal self; ready to run if things were too much or just freak out. “He’s jealousy of you too.”
“Why would I be jealous of him?” Kageyama screamed, and Yachi flinched as she took a step and bumped into Hinata.
“He’s got loads of friends and is super pretty!” Hinata exclaimed with a laugh. “It’s silly though because you have us and volleyball!”
“He used to play volleyball too,” Kageyama said quickly. “So, it hasn’t always been mine, just like you guys will end up being ours after a while.”
“He used to play!” Noya and Tanaka exclaimed, missing the entire point of learning that. “Why doesn’t he anymore?”
“I don’t know,” Kageyama snapped, before he took a deep breath. “He quit when we got to junior high.”
“Wait, what,” Noya said as a confused look made its way to his face. “How could Y/N even make this scrapbook; he doesn’t come to anything.”
“He’s come to every game we’ve had this year,” Yamaguchi said, and Kageyama looked over at the freckled boy. “He sits where you can’t spot him, well if you’re on the court that is.”
“King, you look so confused,” Tsukishima said, and Kageyama was confused.  Why would Y/N even do any of this?  The setter had been sure his brother hated him. “He never shows his face because he’s scared you’ll get angry with him.”
“I wouldn’t though!” Kageyama yelled, and he knew there was no need to.  Maybe he was yelling at himself instead, because he realized this was all his fault. “Why would I get angry at him for coming to a game?”
He knew he would’ve been angry.  There would’ve been a whole scene in the hallway where Kageyama told his brother he didn’t deserve to be there.  He’d be angry because Y/N didn’t get to take back what he had done three years ago.
“You need to ask him that yourself,” Yachi said before looking at her watch and shrieking. “I need to go now!  Bye!”
She dashed out of the room, and suddenly boys were getting ready to leave immediately while Kageyama stood still.  How was he supposed to ask Y/N why he felt too scared to talk to him?  It wasn’t really a conversation that most siblings had, especially twins.  A clap on the back brought him out of his thoughts.
“It’ll be okay, Kageyama, don’t worry,” Suga said with a smile, and Kageyama nodded.  Maybe things would be okay.
*****
Kageyama was walking home, already separated from the group at this time, and he hadn’t realized how lonely it was.  His brother usually kicked rocks and they had competitions to see who could kick the rock the farthest (Y/N always won somehow), or he’d hum whatever J-Pop song was stuck in his head.  Sometimes he’d sing, but his singing voice wasn’t the best; not that it was horrible by any means, just not the best.  Without all of that, it was just quiet and Kageyama didn’t like it.
The thought of an empty house made him cringe, because that would be another level of quiet. Typically, his brother was always doing something, whether is be playing music, humming, studying, watching tv, etc. he was always doing something that created noise in their house.  The setter had always thought of it as annoying, but now he couldn’t imagine his life without out.
He heard someone sniffling, as if they were sobbing, and looked ahead to see Y/N sitting on the sidewalk next to a small bridge.  His face was between his raised knees, and he looked like a mess just like that.  Who knew how long he had been sitting out here in the crisp autumn air.
“Y/N?” Kageyama asked, and the other looked up fast and he looked worse than before.
Kageyama had seen his brother cry before, it had never been something he enjoyed seeing, but this was something else. Red cheeks and eyes with tear stains that could almost be tattooed on him.  His hair was everywhere, unlike usual when he tried to keep it looking as nice as possible.
“Tobio?” Y/N asked as his voice cracked, and suddenly the raven haired boy remembered the last time his brother looked like this.  Their grandfather’s funeral.
The memory of his brother sobbing when they had gotten home from the funeral.  Kageyama didn’t like it at all.
“Are you okay?” Kageyama asked as he walked over to sit next to the other.
“What do you think,” Y/N said with a hurt laugh before he wiped his eyes as he looked at his brother. “It’s not like my brother basically said he didn’t care if I died or anything.”
The venom in Y/N’s voice made Kageyama flinch.  He should have known that would be what he was going to say, but it still hurt in a way he didn’t realize would.  Tobio looked down at the ground as he pulled his knees but to copy his brother’s actions.
“I didn’t mean it,” he said, before he sighed. “I mean I did, but I don’t anymore.  I’ve just been so angry with you.”
“No shit,” Y/N said with a laugh. “I just don’t know why, and I was going to ask but I knew you’d kill me if I did.”
Kageyama chuckled slightly. “You’re probably right.”
“I know it’s because I quit volleyball when we go to middle school,” Y/N said as he looked up at the night sky. “I had quit for a couple reasons, but it was mainly because I felt like you didn’t want me there.  I waited for you to reach out to me, but you never did though and then you confirmed it earlier tonight.”
“I never wanted you to quit volleyball,” Kageyama said as he looked at the concrete.  Neither of them could look at each other while they spoke, and maybe that was something they had in common.
“You didn’t?”
Kageyama finally made himself look over at his brother, who was staring at him, and the other still had eyes full of tears.  He looked happy though, as if he had never felt this relieved before.
“I didn’t,” Kageyama said slowly as he looked away. “I just didn’t know how to make you stay or why’d you leave me like that.  At the time, I was so angry that I didn’t care why’d you quit, I only cared that you had left the one thing we really had together.”
Y/N looked straight ahead and took a deep breath.  It was quiet between the two, but at the same time it was like the y/h/c boy’s thoughts were so loud.
“I quit because everyone always surrounded me, but never you,” he said eventually, and Kageyama looked up at him to see him still staring straight ahead. “I’d score a point, and no one ever complimented your sets, which were the real reasons why mine and everyone was able to spike so well.”
Kageyama remembered grumbling about it once to his brother.  He wished someone would tell him good set outside of Y/N, but no one ever did.  Every spike his brother did received a ‘nice kill!’ or ‘great one, Y/N’ but never anything towards him.
“People ignored you, and it just made me so mad.  You were the setter!” Y/N yelled as he threw his hands up. “You were the one who made it all work and they just ignored you!  I just thought if I left, then you’d get the credit you deserved, and I wasn’t all that great anyways; not like you.”
“You were great though!” Kageyama screamed, and he felt riled up from his brother’s frustration. “You deserved all the credit you got, because he hit my tosses no one else could hit! We were a great team!”
Y/N gave him a warm smile, one they used to share on the court when they won a game or had the perfect quick attack.  Tobio hadn’t realized how much he missed that smile, because it reminded him of the last time volleyball had been fun until he got to Karasuno.
“You have Hinata now though, Tobio,” his brother said softly, no malice in his voice.  He looked away with a sigh. “Remember how I won that dumb short story contest?”
The setter hadn’t expected for that to come up.  He did faintly remember it, but he mainly remembered that he didn’t read it.  There had been a whole statement out of not reading it and Miwa had tried to get him to read it because Y/N didn’t seem all that interested in forcing him.  He didn’t know what that had to do with any of this though.
“Yeah, why?” He asked, and Y/N chuckled as he wiped his eyes.  He wasn’t still crying, but his eyes were still watering because it took so much to calm down when he cried like that.
“I know you didn’t read it, so let me tell you what it was about.  It focused around a setter, an extremely talented one, but he struggled to find his voice on the court.  He tried silence, bare minimum, and demanding but he just couldn’t find the right voice. He thought he was alone, everyone had left him, but his brother was still there to encourage him to keep looking for that ‘right voice’ he needed.”
Tobio stared at the other, unsure of what to say.  Y/N had wrote about him throughout his years of volleyball, even years where Kageyama didn’t think they had each other.  He had been so angry about his brother quitting, he never actually paid attention to the other.
“So, you wrote about me?” Tobio asked softly, worried Y/N was going to tell him that was all a lie.
“I wrote it about us, or what I wanted for us.” Y/N looked at his brother, a look Tobio couldn’t figure out on his face. “I wanted you to see me, and that’s how I made it a reality in my life.  I went to every game, learned every annoying chant, cooked for you after every game, and so much more but you never saw me.  I was so angry even though I knew it was my fault, if I just stayed in volleyball, then you’ve still loved me.”
“I didn’t know you felt like that,” Kageyama said slowly, and his brother stared at his feet as if they were the most interesting thing ever.
Neither of them had ever been the best at expressing how they felt until it all just happened at once. They could say sorry without an explanation, because it was hard to explain to your brother how you had hurt him. Y/N was able to speak more than Kageyama could though, but it seemed to have gotten better since he had joined the creative writing club.
“It’s not like I ever told you, so you can’t help it.  I just,” Y/N paused to look at Tobio, y/e/c staring straight into him as if he was searching for the words in the other. “I just became so frustrated that I started to appear randomly where I knew you’d be because you’d react, and people would realize we were related.  I just wanted to be seen.”
Y/N quickly looked away after saying that, as if he was embarrassed.  Kageyama didn’t know what to say, because he never knew what to say in these situations.  They had never had to talk like this before.
“I just never realized how much it upset you that I quit volleyball, but I don’t think I would’ve stayed either way.  You have a team who loves you, brings out the best in you, and you don’t need me anymore.”
It was silent for maybe a minute or two, there was no way to really know.  All Tobio knew was that it was getting late, and they needed to get home soon, but they couldn’t until everything was out there.  They needed to talk, even though this was hard.
“Volleyball was how we spoke to each other when we were younger.  It was like our stupid twin superpower that you want so badly,” Tobio said, and Y/N chuckled. “When we played, we knew how the other felt and thought without having to ask or say anything.  You quit volleyball, and it felt like you cut off communication because you no longer wanted to be there with me.”
Y/N threw his head back with a groan as let out a deep sigh.  He wouldn’t look at Tobio, eyes going the opposite direction when he finally brought his head back down.  So much hesitation, and the setter wondered if this meant his brother had wanted to cut off communication.  The raven haired boy looked down at the ground as he waited for the other to speak.
“I miss volleyball.” Tobio’s head whipped up to look at the y/h/c. “I don’t think you understand how much I miss it.  You’re right, that is how we used to communicate, but I hoped we’d find a new way to.”
“I didn’t,” Y/N cuts off his brother.
“It doesn’t matter if you didn’t know!” He screamed as he stood up. “I left you all alone, and it makes sense for you to hate me!  I don’t even get the right to miss it.”
Tobio slowly stood up as he grabbed his brother’s things.  The other looked like he was about to cry again, and they both knew it was getting too late to just be sitting on the curb.
“Let’s go home,” Kageyama said, and his brother just nodded. “When we get there, we can play around with the volleyball a little.”
A small smile broke out on Y/N’s face, one that his brother missed.  It was the one he used when he complimented Kageyama on the court.  He was content.
“Yeah, I’d like that.”
*****
“You have your lunch, right?” Y/N asked as he and his brother were about to leave the house to go school. “If you don’t, then it’s being locked away in the house.”
“I have it!” Kageyama yelled from the other room, and his brother wasn’t sure if he yelled out of annoyance or for him to hear; maybe both.
“Okay, then let’s get going.”
Y/N talked on the way to school, Kageyama chuckled occasionally or inserted a ‘dumbass’, but it was mainly the older twin speaking.  A lot of stories of how he had to deal with girls and a small part of how he wasn’t sure if he even liked girls before skipping past that as if he had never said that into his teachers.  Tobio never knew his brother could talk this much.
Hinata waited for the two of them, more like for Kageyama, and then the two raced as Y/N walked behind them.  He wasn’t in a hurry and was actually really tired from staying up so late, but it had been worth it.  He hadn’t been able to talk to Tobio like he did on his walk here in a long time, and his brother seemed to even enjoy the random stories.
“Y/N!” A voice called out and Suga was jogging to meet up with him. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, everything is a lot better.  I’m really sorry you had to see me like that.  I would apologize for Kageyama, but I imagine you’ve seen him pissed off like that before,” he said with a gentle smile.
“That’s really good, I’m glad things are better,” Suga said as they walked, and he looked down at the first year’s attire. “You’re not in your uniform?”
“Oh, yeah.  Kageyama and I want to try something.  I didn’t think being in my uniform would be the best for it,” Y/N said, and Suga realized what Kageyama meant when he said the first year manipulated people.  Last night the y/h/c had been screaming, violent, and overall aggressive, but here he was, giving a smile to Suga that made the third year feel as if he had never done anything wrong.
“Oh, well I hope it goes well,” Suga said, and the other nodded as he walked to the gym as the third year walked to the club room.
Daichi had already opened the gym and had started stretching.  The first year followed his lead, but not stretching to the extent the other was.  He just didn’t want to tear something, because he knew that would be his luck. Attempt to spike in front of an entire team only to fuck up your body.
Tobio and Hinata appeared soon, and the setter had a smirk on his face when he looked at his brother. He turned to Hinata, who looked starry eyed like he did every morning.  Y/N wondered if the ginger was ever tired.
“Can you throw a ball for me and Y/N, we want to try something,” Kageyama asked, and Hinata nodded with a confused look.
“Don’t ask what we’re doing, you’re about to see,” Y/N said, and that somehow made the ginger seem less confused.
They got the balls out and the gym had started to fill up with players, but Y/N hadn’t noticed.  He had to remember how to get into the zone with this.  The embarrassment of it he messed up made him want to die just from the thought, so he had to get this right on the first time.
Hinata threw the ball and Y/N ran like he used to; quick.  He remembered thinking about how Hinata was a little faster than him, but Y/N’s main skill was his speed.  He jumped in the air and his hand hit the ball perfectly, making a sound that he had missed so much.  It slammed into the other side of the court, and he grinned at his brother.
“Hell yeah!” He screamed, and suddenly they were doing the handshake they had made up when they were 10 to impress everyone on the team.
“You never told us you could do that!” Hinata exclaimed with so much excitement, he seemed to be even more starry eyed than before.
“We’re the Kageyama twins, we’re geniuses,” Y/N with a laugh, and Tobio smiled over at him.
“You could always join the team,” Suga said, and Y/N was grateful Ukai had yet to make it.  If he had seen that, he’d either be pissed or excited.
“Nah, I prefer cheering you guys on.  You have to have a number one fan, don’t you?” Y/N asked, coming off as more charming than he had wanted to.
The team looked so touched, and he awkwardly looked over to his brother who started to laugh.  Well, that wasn’t what he wanted, but he knew it was a good sign.
“Guess I won’t be your biggest fan,” Y/N said to his brother who rolled his eyes.
“Yeah, right,” Kageyama replied before he went to go stretch, only for Y/N to let out a huge sigh.
“Not your biggest fan anymore, it was that easy!” Y/N exclaimed, and Suga laughed into his hand at how the siblings were acting.
“Shut up, dumbass!” Tobio yelled back, not even turning to look at his brother.
“Seems like they made up,” Suga whispered over to Daichi. “Kind of weird seeing Kageyama acting like this with someone he thought about killing constantly.”
“Yeah, but it’s nice, isn’t it?” Daichi asked.
“Yeah. Yeah it is.”

ok ok hear me out hear me out. Yuma becoming obsessed with one of the game’s ( few ) sentient, non-romancable npcs. Like they can think and feel and ( somewhat ) act for themselves but there just isn’t a route for them. Also bonus points of the darling is kinda bratty/prissy, we haven’t see a lot of readers like that. Ily and your writing so much, mwah — ✨ anon
My my, how different!
Welcome in, ✨ Anon! And thank you for enjoying my writing so far.
TW/Tags: I love this concept, although being very different from the norm // some ddlc vibes // I just discovered a new word and I'm so glad it exists! (prissy reader cause I think this would be very fun-) // angsty // trapping, manipulation and gaslighting // every time the gender isn't set, I like to keep it ambiguous, basically making it gender neutral (gender neutral reader) // gender neutral Yuma //

Just Yuma (lol) [Yandere!A.I OC x A.I!Reader - Headcanon]:
I like to think that a game like Yuma's would be made to entertain the players to at least 5 or so years before the next installment- Which is basically the same as the last with better graphics and switching the main love interest cast.
The games would be made clearly for the sake of fan service and slice of life material- But would be surprisingly more advanced to us than to those who have created the franchise.
Because there is already an estimation of the amount of content and for how long players would play the game, every single character should get at least some bit of highlight- So even npcs that are just there for the sake of ambience and narrative, are treated with a lot of care and given the best a.i the developers could give to make the experience entertaining.
You are just like any other non-dateable npc, except that you have gained a bit of a role in one of the main cast's routes. It wouldn't be a stretch to guess that one of these characters would be Yuma themselves.
You were supposed to be Yuma's love interest, meaning you would have an role as an player's rival- But due to an strict schedule and corporate greed, you have been demoted from having such a big impact, and now you're basically Yuma's best friend who keeps them from committing homicide every five seconds.
It's not exactly a bad role, since you keep having the same dynamic with them from before- Chaotic gremlin is best friends with Paranoid goody two shoes, now with less romantic interactions.
The only mistake by the company was to leave half of the data showcasing this relationship in the game at the release. Basically- Half of the cutscenes and dialogue involving you and Yuma not only being friends but the start of you two dating (the game kinda pairs the couples up if the player fails to date them, or simply shows disinterest in the characters to begin with-) and even some of the things involving you two during the dating phase- Even the potential break-up sequence which could be orchestrated by the player.
Well, could have- Since none of this content is really available or considered official, the only way to access it is by messing the games files.
So in a way, you're already pretty sentient as it is, you act not as a rival but as a somewhat helper into getting the player to get closer to Yuma. I don't know how much you are aware about your own circumstances, or if you even care about the concept of being just an character made for the sake of another-
In the home planet that has created and released the game, players were kinda disappointed with what happened- They preferred the deleted/unused content more than the events and dialogue that was used for you two, so much so that people started shipping you two more than actually being interested in romancing Yuma, especially since they're way too chaotic for most player's taste.
There was an update overhaul being planned to happen where not only the stuff related to you would be changed- But all the other characters and gameplay mechanics would be updated and hopefully make the game better- But ever since your cartridge has been suddenly lost and forgotten on Earth, you were never able to see that update.
Not that you were aware of it to begin with, but still, what a shame. And not only that, your game is basically Glitch Station- Absolutely filed with mods to help the gameplay be "easier" to the original owner of this cartridge. I don't think she even remembers where she has left it.
Still, even when a new save was made you felt a weird sensation of deja vu. The game has started again with a new player playing it and trying to work their way through this broken game.
You didn't understand why all these events felt familiar though, you only felt like it made sense. It was your first year in college, you got ready and made sure to look your best and give your goodbye to your parents-
It felt like this day has happened before, and even if your routine was similar, you felt like this day was supposed to be a big deal- Why does it feel oddly nostalgic?
Why… Why are the floors on your house flowing? Why are there so many empty spaces here and there? You feel like you could potentially fall from your disintegrating house. And your parents, where are they? Why can't you see them? Why can you only hear them saying goodbye back to you from one of the other rooms?
When you open the door to see them- There is nothing there. There is not even a room.
It's a door that leads to nowhere. Just an empty void.
The sensation of dread was starting to creep in yet you thought that it would be uncalled for to overreact. Like you weren't allowed to showcase concern for the odd reality around you.
You walked on foot towards your college, panicking slightly at the people who would fade in and out of existence- Yet you had held yourself from screaming, from showing any sense of vulnerability at the thought that maybe you were in a dangerous place or realm.
You were coded to not find issues with the odd reality around you, like any other npc- You were taught to hold in and try to keep a sense of normality so no players would find issue with screaming characters begging to be freed. But your nervous personality caused you to search for help, you panicked and ended up running away to what you assumed to be a safe place- Somewhere crowded with a lot of people.
The institution's gates were open, you entered like your life depended on it (and maybe it did) yet you stopped yourself from screaming when you noticed a commotion happening.
A guy who was wearing the uniform lazily has bumped into a girl, causing her to fall. She is yelling at him because the fall has broken her phone, he is trying his best to calm her down- But at the same time it feels like he is just making poor choices of words because of how sick he is of having to chat with someone so angry at an accident.
Haven't you seen this before? But if so- When? When could you possibly have seen something like that happen?-
"- [Y/N]?"
"- AAAAH- Oh hey Yuma."
You yelled after getting spooked by Yuma- Who was…. Why are they wearing that?
"- Why aren't you in your uniform, Yumie?" You asked them, showing your own uniform in the process. You called them by a sweet nickname you had given them- But when exactly?
You know that you're best friends with Yuma, but since when? You know it should have been for about 6 years or so, but… It feels like you have only known them for a year- How… Weird.
"- Don't tell me you're already breaking a rule on your first day." You pouted and stomped your fit into the ground. Yes, you know that Yuma is a troublemaker…. You know…. That.
Yuma hasn't been able to speak ever since you showed concern about their outfit. They were staring at you in shock- As if you were an odd creature who they just found.
"- Y-You can see my outfit??" They blurted out. How can you recognize it??? All the other npcs recognize it as their uniform, but why are you suddenly acting like you do??
"- Hm, duh? Sorry Yummie, but that sporty outfit of yours is more eye-catching than that guy's barely well put together uniform- Such bad manners, I bet he woke up and hastily wore the first thing he saw-" You were beginning to go on a rant about that guy's uniform- That guy being the MC of this new save file. Yuma has stopped you by pulling you away from the college's entrance and entering into a secluded area so they could interrogate you over this odd behavior you were displaying.
"- Yummie- What are you doing!?" You cried out feeling hurt by their tight grip on your wrists.
"- WHAT DID YOU CALL MY OUTFIT??" They yelled desperately. Begging for their hypothesis to be corrected.
"- … A breaking of the uniform rule?" You genuinely did not understand where they were talking about.
"- No, No NO! You said Sporty Outfit, right?" They said reminding you of what you have previously commented about their outfit.
"- Oh! Yes, yes I did- And although being somewhat casual looking- It does fit the category of sporty." You readdressed the topic while going on a bit of detail- The usual annoying talk you would always do whenever a dialogue with you was activated.
Yuma was over the edge- They have never, ever met another sentient character with the same a.i as theirs.
They haven't been this happy since a long, long time.
"- You're so annoying!" They screamed, their face showing a bright smile as tears filled their eyes.
"- Yummie that's so rude!-" You were about to defend yourself when they grabbed you and hugged you as tight as they could.
"- You're genuinely so, so, so, so, so, so ANNOYING!!" They continued to go on, laughing while crying, loving every second of this.
You were coded to be their best friend. You were coded to be the one that would balance them out. You were once coded to be someone made to be able to be their lover, but here you are- The real you, free from all the locks that would keep your a.i from growing and understanding them.
If you're able to be sentient, then all of their friends can as well.
You're the personification of a miracle, to Yuma. The personification of hope.
In this scenario, Yuma isn't aware that the player isn't the same alien who has destroyed their digital world, so to them, they can't ever let the player see you getting sentient and becoming aware of your imprisonment.
" If a player finds issues with any of the characters being portrayed, they must return the cartridge to their nearest store to get a factory reset." Such a simple yet frightening tip to Yuma, to any a.i that has suddenly found itself desperate to get out of the system that traps them.
At first, the idea of having someone like them be also aware of the situation is incredible, it's amazing even! You two could possibly work out a way of getting a way to be free- It wouldn't be easy but hopefully you two would be able to have life away from this game and even finding a way of bringing your other friends with you two.
However, after discovering that not only has the cartridge found itself on another planet with another player being the new owner of it- And discovering that it's just a matter of trading places with other people to be able to be free- Yuma would start getting really clingy to you. They have been all alone thinking that they were the only one capable of feeling and thinking for themselves.
Yuma has found those unused events and scattered dialogue, you know?
While they were looking for a possibility, any possibility of getting out- They found those unused files where you two were able to be together.
And although they thought it was weird at first, after seeing you have a better understanding of your current reality and existence- It oddly sounds fitting.
Of course it would be you, the one who always puts them back on the right tracks, to be the second one to want to escape this game.
It 's so fitting.
The idea of being something more than just a best friend to you is starting to sound more and more appealing in their eyes- It's so ironic that you two work together so well.
After Yuma gets their taste of freedom and you try to calm a frightened young guy that wasn't expecting to be suddenly kidnapped and be forced to stay in the game world for a while, you wait for them to find the solution to free everyone without trying to trap anymore "humans"..
No one should be stuck here for the sake of someone else leaving, that's what you have told them.
But Yuma didn't care. Yuma just wanted to be free with you and everyone else, who cares for those that have to deal with a glitchy game for eternity?
You two had an argument. You didn't want to continue feeling like your whole life was a lie, you want to be free but no one should be hurt in the process. What good would it be if someone else has to go through the same torment as you two?
With each day that passes by, you notice how both of your ideas of freedom were different- To the point they had to tell you the truth.
You aren't going out of there anymore. Not until you understand and truly appreciate the effort that Yuma goes through to find a way of freeing you- Of finding a victim, to be in your place.
They never told you about your previously intended role in the game, they thought you would be more terrified of following their instructions- And besides, it would be very distasteful to insinuate that the only reason that they care for you it's because of that code that was left unused- Which couldn't be more of a lie! They genuinely care for you!
…. But maybe a bit of tempering would help you see their side of the story, right?
It can't be that hard to modify some of the codes, the game is already broken anyway.

“I don’t think this is working out,” Sam says, coming to you one day after a hunt gone bad.
“What isn’t working out?” You ask, looking up to the taller Winchester.
“Us, you and me. You living and working with us. All of it.” He says, refusing to make eye contact.
“What? What do you mean it’s not working out? What’s the problem? I’ve been living with you and Dean for the last two years! Why is there suddenly an issue?” You question.
“Well lately, (Y/N) you’ve been really reckless on these hunts we’ve been going on,” he answers, still not looking at you.
“What? Reckless? I’m a hunter, Sam. I take chances just like you and Dean do and they don’t always go as planned, like today.”
“Exactly, that was really stupid of you to go in that warehouse by yourself,” he says as you’re taken back to the events of the day.
“Alright, Sam, you and I will scout out the warehouse, see if we come across any vics. (Y/N) I need you to be on the lookout and alert us if someone’s coming,” Dean said, with Sam next to him, guns aimed and ready to fire. But they looked to you and you were nowhere to be found.
“(Y/N)?” Dean whisper yells for you.
“Dean!” Sam says, panic filling his voice. The youngest brother pointed in the direction of where he was looking straight ahead, seeing you running inside the warehouse.
“Son of a bitch!” Dean yells as he and Sam run after you.
You were too far ahead to hear them running after you until it was too late. An entire pack of vampires had rushed you, trying desperately to sink their teeth into you. A good dozen or more were surrounding you and you began swinging, taking your knife to slice off the heads of the monsters as they grew too close. Screams of the victims could be heard as you fought hard, soon realizing you went alone. Just as one vamp lost its head, another was right behind you and sank its teeth into your shoulder. You scream out in agony; the venom was quickly spreading through your body.
“(Y/N)!” Sam yells to you, watching as you fall to the ground; the pain bringing you to your knees.
“Sam, we can’t stop, there are too many vamps out here!”
“She’s going to turn into one of them if we don’t help her, Dean!”
“Cas! If you can hear us, get your feathery ass down here and save (Y/N)!” Dean yells and then, a fluttering of wings came down in front of you.
“Hello (Y/N), let me take a look at you,” Cas says, kneeling beside you and carefully moving your collar of your shirt away from where you were a bit. You hiss out in pain as the wound was now exposed to the air around you.
“Alright (Y/N) luckily I was able to get here just in time before it got too bad so I can heal you enough now to transport you back to the Bunker but I’ll have to extract the venom from you later. okay?” Cas explained.
“Just, do it!” You cry and a blinding light flashed around you, causing you to lose your sight for just a moment but the sound of vamps being killed was the last thing you heard.
“Alright, I admit, that wasn’t the best decision I could’ve come up with but I’m okay!”
“Yeah, but today wasn’t the first time you got hurt really bad on a hunt!” Sam yelled, suddenly making himself seem even bigger than he already was.
“What are you saying, Sam? You want me to leave?”
“Yes. I can’t keep worrying about you getting hurt because you’re too damn stubborn to listen to a damn thing Dean or I tell you! We’re more experienced hunters, (Y/N), we know what’s safe and what’s not. We can’t that burden over our heads,” He says.
You felt the tears brimming to the surface of your eyes but with the words he just spoke, you couldn’t let him see you upset.
“Alright, um, I’ll go pack my things and be out of your way.” You say, brushing past your now ex-boyfriend, but making sure to hit him hard as you did so.
When you reached your room, a photo of you and Sam sat on the end-table beside your bed, the smiling faces just mocking you. Grabbing the frame, you throw it across the room and scream at the broken glass now scattered across the floor.
“Fuck you, Sam Winchester!” You yell, hoping to anyone that he was listening.
You and Sam had always been close and just recently started dating. Sure, it was challenging but you thought since you were in the business too, it would be easier to work out any differences you may face; you were clearly mistaken. Taking a duffel bag from out of your closet, you throw all your clothes and toiletries inside, packing up furiously. When you were sure you had everything, you find a scratch piece of paper and write up a note for Dean. You and he were close too; he was like your older brother.
 Dean,
I am so sorry to be writing you this letter but I’ve been informed that I should not be living or hunting with you and Sam anymore. Apparently, I am a burden to you guys and you don’t want to have to worry about my well-being on every case. I guess I am just like you though; stubborn as a mule. I thought that was a good thing but according to Sam, it’s not. I thought he and I could work through anything because I became a hunter too, but I was wrong about that, too.
I’m not sure where he and I went wrong, but today was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I love him, Dean, I really do, but I guess he doesn’t love me enough to keep fighting for a relationship with me. I have a friend who’s a hunter who offered a place for me to stay and is willing to teach me new skills to improve myself as a hunter and who knows, maybe by then, Sam will actually want me around as a partner.
I’m going to miss eating greasy burgers and staying in cheap motels and watching Western’s with you but this is for the best. I can’t be around someone who doesn’t want me around and Sam has made that very clear that he doesn’t care about me anymore.
Here’s my address of where I’ll be staying at for a while; just don’t tell Sam where I’m at. I need to grieve the loss of one of the best things that have ever happened to me. I wish him well though, please tell him that.
I hope to stay in touch with you; you’ve always been like a big brother to me. I love you Dean and I’ll call you when I get to my new home.
Love, (Y/N)
Folding up the paper, you grab your bag and your keys for your car. Walking past Dean’s room, you slide the letter under his door and knock on it, before rushing towards the stairs out when you heard Sam calling for Dean.
“What’s up, Sammy?” Dean asks when he opens his door, noticing the note in front of him.
“I think I found a case for us to work. What’s that?” Sam said, looking at the paper in his brothers’ hand. Just then, the sound of a vehicle starting and driving away interrupted them.
“Who’s leaving?” Dean asked, walking out to the War Room; Sam remaining silent. “What?”
Sam remained quiet for a while until Dean starting growing angry.
“(Y/N) left,” Sam finally said.
“What? What do you mean, (Y/N) left?” Dean asked, still furious with his little brother.
“Where did she go, Sam?”
“I don’t know,” Sam said, avoiding the conversation he just had with (Y/N).
Just then, Dean remembered the letter that was on his bedroom floor. He reached for it from his back pocket and opened it.
Sam watched as Dean’s eyes bounced back and forth across the page; he was starting to feel guilty.
“You told her to leave?” Dean asked, in a calm voice but Sam didn’t peak.
“Answer me, Sammy! Did you tell (Y/N) to leave?!” Dean’s voice escalated.
“Yes,” Sam simply answered.
“Great, you know she’s gone, right? She said we see her as a burden? Did-did you tell her that?!”
“Yes,”
“Oh my God, Sam! That’s just great! You know she was the best thing that ever happened to you and you just push her away like that? Why?”
“She was always getting hurt, Dean? What was I supposed to do? Tell her she was doing a good job at constantly getting hurt?” Sam yelled back to his brother.
“Yes! She was stubborn like we are but she was willing to become a hunter just so she could be with you, Sammy! She loved your dumb ass and what, because she got hurt all the time, you stopped loving her?”
“No, I-I never said I don’t love her anymore,”
“Well, she thinks you don’t love her! And you know what else she said in this letter? She said she needs time to grieve the best thing that ever happened to her!”
Sam was quiet for a minute, letting his brothers’ words sink in. The girl he was in love with, was gone forever, all because he hated how stubborn she was and how she never listened. She was just like him and that bothered him. He didn’t want her to be like him, so broken and hurt, but she was also good. She was beautiful and had a positive outlook on life; always bringing happiness to the brothers when they were down. She was young and full of life, always caring about everyone else before herself and maybe that was why she always got hurt. But she loved Sam and he couldn’t understand why, but he felt lucky to have her. Maybe he was overreacting; he got hurt a lot too. It was part of the job to get hurt saving people’s lives and not everyone could do it but (Y/N)? She was good at it because she cared for people so much, way more than he or Dean even could.
“Did she say where she was going?” Sam suddenly asks, growing worried about where she had gone.
“She did, but she doesn’t want you to know. You really hurt her, Sam,” Dean said.
“I know, I fucked up bad. I thought if she wasn’t here anymore, that she couldn’t get hurt, and then I wouldn’t have to worry about her so much. At least, if she went away, she would be safe, but I don’t even know that to be true,” Sam confesses.
“Your plan just completely backfired on you,”
“Yeah, I made things worse, and for what?”
“Because I thought this was the best way to protect her and when she got hurt, Dean, she was almost always near death. I-I couldn’t stand seeing her like that because I knew there was a better way but she always had to go down the harder and more painful path.”
“Yeah, and you know why she did that?” Dean asked.
“Why?”
“Because she was a Winchester. She was stubborn and hard-headed but she is a fighter and she always believed in the best in people. And what did you do? You tried to penalize her for it,” Dean said.
“I know, I really fucked up here. I gotta try and find her, Dean. Tell her I was wrong,” Sam said, going to grab keys for one of the vehicles the brothers owned.
“Dude, she doesn’t want to see you,” Dean reminded him of the letter.
“Well, she didn’t leave that long ago. She couldn’t have gotten too far; I have to try,” Sam argued back.
“Want me to go with you?” Dean asked but Sam shook his head.
“I need you to stay here just in case she comes back home,” Sam says before realizing the Bunker wasn’t (Y/N)’s home anymore. “Just stay here.”
Sam grabbed a jacket and his phone before rushing off to the garage and jumping in behind the wheel of a car. Just before he sped away, Dean came out to the garage with a set of keys in his hands.
“Here,” he said, tossing the keys to Sam.
“Baby? You’re letting me take her?” Sam questioned, surprised that his brother trusted him with his most prized possession.
“Yeah, she’s pretty reliable and will get you where you need to go. Plus, (Y/N) loves her. If you do end up catching up with her, the least you can do is show up in a good-looking car,” Dean smirked as Sam threw the other keys back to him.
Throwing the car into drive, Sam sped out of the garage, desperate to find (Y/N) and hoping he wasn’t too far behind her. He wanted to apologize to her, tell her he still loved her, and was only speaking out of frustration. Of course, he wanted her to stay and keep hunting with him and Dean but he worried about her a lot, and seeing her hurt all the time, wasn’t good for anyone. Maybe he was being selfish but he thought he was doing the right thing for everyone when he really was hurting the one person who meant the most to him. He pushed the gas pedal down as hard as he could, not caring about the speed limits, and looking around to see if her vehicle had stopped anywhere, as his mind kept wandering off to the letter she left for Dean. Why didn’t she leave one for him? Did he hurt her that bad?
Sam’s POV
Damnit, I shouldn’t have told her to go and now, I can’t find her. What if I do find her and she doesn’t want anything to do with me anymore? She easily could tell me to go to hell; I mean I did that already but it would be worse hearing it from her. Would she ever let me explain where I was coming from? If she didn’t, I don’t think I would blame her; I wouldn’t let me explain. I hadn’t realized how long I had been driving for but it was starting to get dark. My speed had decreased drastically as I figured I should pull over and rest for the night. It’d be no good for me driving at night when I was this upset over the whole situation. Maybe this still made me seem selfish but I didn’t want to end up dead before I got to her. Seeing a small bar off the side of the road, I go to pull into the parking lot, searching for (Y/N)’s car just in case she had done the same as me.
Getting out of the car, I lock Baby up and head inside, anxious to see if (Y/N) was there. Looking around the room, I’m met with a bunch of unfamiliar faces. I walk to the bar and order a shot of whiskey. The liquid burned as it went down my throat and temporarily made me feel better but that feeling went away quickly. Just as I was about to order my next shot, I look over out of the corner of my right eye and see that familiar face; the one who had been driving me insane.
She was sitting at a booth with some guy who couldn’t keep his hands off of her but she didn’t seem to mind. Was she crazy?! This guy is disgusting! How could she be okay with him touching her? I’m the only one who is allowed to touch her. Wait, no, I can’t think like that; I’m the one who broke up with her. But did she have to be looking at him with those big (y/e/c) eyes? And that perfect smile? She used to look at me like that all the time and now? My last memory of her was the look of pure sadness and somber; like I just kicked a puppy or something. No, I just broke her heart. Alright, I hate myself but I need to do something about it instead of just sitting here and watching her fall all over some random guy. I may regret this later but I figure I should go with it and see what happens.
“Hey baby, there you are. I was starting to worry about you,” I say, pulling a chair over to sit on the opposite side of where her “date” was. She looked over at me with a look of disgust but my jealous side told me I was doing the right thing.
“Go away, I don’t want to talk to you,” she says, turning back to the other guy, so I did the next best thing I thought to do. I stand up and wrap an arm around her waist, hoisting her over my shoulder. She screamed and started cussing me out, causing everyone to look at us.
“Just our honeymoon is all, she’s a bit nervous,” I lied, looking at the bartender who just nodded his head and smirked; dirty old man. Walking back out to Baby, (Y/N) hits my back several times, telling me I must’ve lost my mind to be treating her like this and she is going to fucking scream when I finally let her down.
“(Y/N) please, just let me explain,” I say, finally setting her down but still holding onto her arm.
“Why should I Sam? You made it very clear that we were over and that I was a burden to you; why can’t you just let me go? I just want my heart back because you destroyed it,” She says trying to wiggle free from my grasp.
“I can’t let you go,” I say, letting her out of my hold.
“You just did a few hours ago!” She says, growing frustrated with me.
“I didn’t mean anything I said back then; I’m so sorry,” I try to reason with her but I can tell she’s not buying it.
“Why even say it then?” She scoffs, rolling her eyes at me.
“I was talking out of my frustration. I hate seeing get hurt; you’ve almost died more than once. I hate that you’re just as much a Winchester as Dean and I are; just as stubborn. But you’re a damn good hunter and we’ve gotten better at this job because of you. I can’t imagine not having you hunt with us anymore; you’re too damn important to me now. I want you to stay; I need you to stay.”
She was quiet for a minute then spoke up, “you told me I was a burden to you, Sam. Do you know how that made me feel? You made me think you didn’t love me anymore. So when you told me to leave, I couldn’t fathom the words that were coming from your mouth. I sat in my car about a mile outside the Bunker and balled my eyes out. Do you not realize what you mean to me? I love you, Sam, but you just tossed me aside like I was nothing.”
“That wasn’t my intention, (Y/N)! I-I thought I was protecting you!” I yell.
“Okay you really don’t want to be yelling at me right now when you’re already on thin ice here, Winchester,” she warns and I apologize.
“I promise, that wasn’t what I meant to do. I thought I was protecting you by telling you, you were a burden on us. I knew that if I asked you not to hunt with us for a while, you’d just argue with me about why that’s not fair, so I figured if I told you that it was becoming too difficult for us to always care for you, that you would sit back yourself. And then it spiraled out of control from there and I kept up with the act that I didn’t care about you because I had to make you believe that you weren’t safe hunting. I never told you I didn’t love you; I can’t believe you thought that. I love you more than I’ve loved anyone else and I know that’s a lot to hear because we’ve only really been dating for a short time but we started off as friends first and I knew from that very first day you came to us for help on a case, that I loved you. And then when you told me you had feelings for me too, I was so happy because finally, here’s this amazing woman who understands the business because she does it herself and I love her. But I talked to Dean and he made me realize I probably made the biggest mistake of my life and I am so, so sorry. I only said everything I did because I cared too damn much about your well-being. And I know, it’s dumb and doesn’t make any sense but it’s the truth. I hope you can forgive me and we can go back to just being us. And I am so sorry you cried; I hate when you’re sad. But if you’ll let me, I want to make it up to you.”
There was silence was settled between us for an agonizing amount of time before she did something I wasn’t expecting. She quickly closed the space between us and grabbed the back of my head to pull me into a kiss. Instantly, I grab onto her hips, holding her into place, while my lips let her know how much I truly missed her. I was growing tired of leaning over so I lifted her to my level, easily able to intensify the kiss. She held onto the back of my shirt like she was afraid she was dreaming and I would disappear at any minute, but I tried to convince her that I wasn’t going anywhere; I was too far invested in this. I broke the kiss for a minute, looking at the beautiful girl in my arms.
“I have an idea,” I said, setting her down and unlocking the car. She watches me closely as I unlock the door she was standing closest to and open the door to her.
“Get in,” I say. She does but doesn't understand what I was implying until I grabbed the bottom hemline of my shirt and lifted it over my head. When she realized what my idea was, she followed my lead, lifting her shirt over her head and threw it on the floor of the car. I duck down and make my way inside to the back seat, hovering over her as she lays across the seat. She looked up at me, never breaking eye contact until I kissed her again. My hands traveled down her body, and she reacted to my touch, back arching into me. She pulled away to remove her bra before attaching her lips to mine again. As more and more articles of clothing were being removed, she broke the silence for a minute.
“You know, Dean is going to kill us when he finds out we had sex back here.”
I laugh, knowing she was telling the truth and thinking what my brother’s reaction was going to be.
“Well, he doesn’t have to know; we’ll get her cleaned before we go back to the Bunker,” I say, trying not to make a big deal out of what we had planned.
“Oh, I don’t know, plus, how many times has he had sex back here?” She asked and I paused to think about it.
“You know, you’re probably right. I’m sure it’s been numerous times! Wanna just go check into that motel over there?” I suggest, throwing my head to the side to motion to the motel.
“I mean, that’s tempting but equally as disgusting. You know how questionable those rooms are! If we’re going to have sex, I want it to be special!” She kept her stance on the topic.
I sigh but realize she was right. I didn’t want to just sleep with her in the backseat of a car or at a dingy motel. As much as I was really wanting to go through with this, I figured we would have a much better time back at the Bunker.
“Alright, how about we just make out like some crazy teenagers for now and save the rest for later,” I suggested, wiggling my eyebrows at her. She laughs for a moment before reaching down to pick her bra back up but I stopped her.
“Why don’t you just leave that off for now,” I say, eyes trailing down to ger exposed chest before a devilish grin made its way across my face. Her cheeks redden but she throws the bra back and brings me back for another kiss, my hands traveling their way over each breast, savoring the way her skin felt against mine. I missed this feeling; having her with me and exploring every part of each other. And not just for a day or just to ‘scratch an itch,’ but because we loved one another and I needed her to know just how vital she was to my life. Without her, I cannot go on; I know this from experience so I knew I needed to do whatever it took to make her realize that I loved her.
And after a while and we began our journey home, my hand in hers as she sang along to the cassette tapes Dean had, I knew I finally found the happiness that I thought I couldn’t find because of the life I chose to lead and a life I prayed would never change. It may have been selfish to desire a happiness such as this but I also know I struggled to find peace so now that I have it, it’s like a precious artifact that I will fight to protect at all costs, no matter the risk to my own life, because that I what you do when you love someone.

-Blue Book- (1)
Warnings: parent death, mentions of abuse, smoking and alcohol, eventual smut.
Requested: Yes. (A loong time ago, lmao.) This was supposed to be a oneshot, but it turned out a little longer than I’d expected it to, so I decided to make it into a series.
E2L, Slow Burn, High School Au. (Half the story takes place in high school, and the other half takes place when they’re adults.)
Tumblr media
You knew exactly why you hated Bang Christopher Chan.
It had all started in high school. A new town, and a new school. You weren’t one of those people that would be bitter about the move- you understood that your mother’s new job meant you could no longer stay in the town you grew up in. Besides, it wasn’t like you had any friends to say goodbye to- or memories you’d miss.
Your father had left your mom when you were 9. He’d met a woman ‘that he actually loved’, whatever that meant. He moved to a new country, and started taking care of a new family. Sometimes, you bitterly hoped he would abandon them as well. Sometimes, you understood why he left. You knew that it wasn’t a good idea to force yourself to stay with someone you didn’t love...but did he have to leave you behind as well? Did he not love you?
A year later, you received the news that he’d died in an accident. You weren’t even able to attend his funeral.
For the most part though, you were actually a very optimistic individual...as optimistic as you could be, without a father and an alcoholic mother. Usually, children who grew up with a single parent tend to hold grudges, and act like the whole world was at fault. However, there must have been some sort of factory error, cause you happened to gravitate towards a world-view that hid behind rose-colored lenses.
You were buzzing with excitement on your first day. You’d never really been much of an academic-oriented student, but there was a newfound need to make your mother proud...one that arose the very first time you heard your father yell at her.
You’d bought cute stationary and school supplies, determined to be a great student and one day be able to support your mother. However, you quickly realized that none of the other students appreciated it when you eagerly answered the teacher’s questions, jotting down notes. You heard murmurs every time you raised your hand, every time a teacher complimented you on your perfect assignment. Nerd. Suck-up. Dork.
It was tiring, but you somehow managed to keep up the positive facade...until a few months later, when Chan walked into your life.
***
You were sat at the cafeteria table, all alone. You sipped your banana milk and hummed along to the music playing through your earphones as you continued writing in your little navy blue book. It was more of a diary, but you occasionally used it in class. Right then, you were writing a small piece of poetry that had randomly popped into your brain, tongue sticking out in concentration as the words poured out.
A few tables away, Jisung chuckled at the sight. “Does she ever go anywhere without that stupid book?”
Hyunjin scoffed. “I don’t think so. What does she even write in it?”
“I’ve seen her write in it in class. It’s probably just some school-related shit. Nerd.” Changbin said, biting into his sandwich.
Seungmin cocked his head to the side. “Um, I doubt she’d carry around something like that with her everywhere. It must be something important.”
Felix waved a hand in front of Chan’s face. The latter had been staring at you, observing the way your face was scrunched in concentration.
Minho suddenly laughed out of nowhere, causing the seven boys to look at him. “Chan, are you into the nerd?”
Chan chuckled lightly. “As if. You’re really funny these days, aren’t you?”
Minho raised an eyebrow. “Uh huh. You know what...life’s been getting a little boring these days. I have an idea.” A smirk appeared on his face. “Chan...I dare you to get that book.”
Chan squinted in disdain. “Ha...what’s in it for me?”
Minho tapped his chin for a few minutes as he pondered. “Hmm...oh, I got it! I won’t flirt with Miyoung anymore.”
Chan looked up at that. Miyoung was an extremely pretty, popular girl that he had a crush on. However, lately, she’d been expressing a little interest in Minho. He didn’t really like her back the same way Chan did, but being the fuckboy that he is, Minho flirted back quite a lot.
Chan rolled his eyes.
“Fine. In fact, I’ll go right now!” The boys hollered, cheering him on as he got out of his chair, walking up to you.
You looked up, taking your earphones out when you felt his presence at the table that had been empty except for you. Confusion took over your face as Chan smiled warmly at you.
“Hi, Y/n. Whatcha doing?”
“Uh...nothing. Just...y-ya know...” You stuttered. You’d always found Chan attractive but he was one of those people who’d never really bothered to acknowledge your presence...until now.
“How are you today?” You asked, trying to recover.
“I’m fine, princess. Better now that I’m talking to you.” You blushed, avoiding his eyes. Chan’s gaze flitted to the book laid open in front of you. You followed his line of sight, quickly shutting your book.
“I find your...book interesting. Can I see?”
You shook your head. “I...I’m sorry, I just...” You couldn’t say anything else, words freezing up in your throat as you squeaked out a “Bye.”
You got up, chair scraping the floor as you grabbed your book and bag, leaving as fast as you could.
Chan sighed, looking back to the boys. He walked back to his previous seat, sighing as he plopped back down. “Well, there you go.”
Minho shook his head. “Welp, guess I’m just going to have to ask Miyoung out to the game-”
“NO! I’ll do it. Just...give me a few more days, okay?”
Hyunjin cleared his throat. “Okay...we’ll give you a week. that should be more than enough, right?”
The rest of the boys nodded in agreement as Chan threw his head back, sighing.
“You guys are so weird...” He rubbed his temples. “Fine.”
***
You sat on a bench, humming as you sketched the park pond. It was a bright, clear-skied day.
Meanwhile, Chan decided to cut through the park on his way to Minho’s house. But as he passed the pond, he saw you sitting on the bench, eyes widening as he remembered the bet.
Cursing, he decided to go over and talk to you. He’d been planning to talk to you tomorrow at school, but he might as well do it, since you were already here.
He approached you slowly, so as not to startle you. Hmm. You actually looked quite peaceful as your eyes ran over the ducks in the pond, smiling softly, as if you were reminiscing about something...or someone.
Chan contemplated tapping you on the shoulder, but you looked way too tranquil to disturb. After a few seconds, he cleared his throat loudly. You yelped, turning to the side and squinting at him.
“Oh...uh, hi...”
Chan smiled, before gesturing to the bench. “May I sit here?”
You nodded meekly, and he lowered himself down carefully, trying to keep a respectful distance. He noted the way your fingers protectively clutched the book tighter, sighing internally. This was going to take a while.
“Hey, calm down. I’m sorry about this morning. I was just curious.”
You avoided eye contact, staring at the pond. “It’s alright.”
“I was just wondering what you do in it. I always notice you carrying it around.”
You pondered for a moment, turning to look at him. “I...write in it, mainly. And...” You trailed off. Shaking your head, you took your backpack and shoved the book bag in. You moved to get up, but Chan’s hand shot out, grabbing your wrist and effectively stopping you. You looked down at him in confusion. He quickly let go, mumbling an apology.
“I, um...don’t leave yet, please? You seem sweet... and I’d like to get to know you more.”
You squeaked in response. Your brain was short-circuiting as you looked at the cute boy smiling softly.
“Okay...”
You sat back down, hesitantly smiling at him as you played with your fingers. You were a little nervous...well, a lot nervous. Chan’s smile made your knees melt.
“So...what’s your deal?”
“My...deal?”
“You’re new here, right?”
“Oh yeah, I moved here recently with my mom.”
He nodded, noting the way you avoided his eyes with a frown after the sentence left his lips.
Chan groaned to himself, wondering how he would be able to get you to trust him enough. He just needed to get that book for a day...knowing the girl, it was probably just a study book like Changbin had said before. It was just a silly bet...but Chan never lost. Besides, prom was approaching in a few months and he needed Miyoung to be his before then. He needed her to be the queen to his prom king.
He glanced at his watch. Fuck.
“Sorry, Y/n. I’ve got to go now. But I’ll see you around, yeah?” He winked at you, internally smirking at the quick blush that spread across your features.
Hmm...an idea was blooming in his head.
This might be easier than he thought.
***
Chan opened the door, wincing when the smoke hit his nostrils.
Jisung looked up, setting his controller down. “Broo, finally! What took you so long?”
“Well...I saw Y/n on the way here.”
“Y/n...?”
“The nerd, Jisung.” Minho said, holding out a beer can for Chan to take.
“Aaah.”
Chan sighed as he took the can, taking a sip before sighing. “This won’t be easy. She’s very protective of that book.”
Changbin chuckled. “Sounds exciting. I’m even more curious now.”
“Um, guys...why are we even doing this? I mean...she’s just a girl who likes writing in a diary.” Felix spoke up, softly.
Minho scoffed. “Yeah well, we’re bored. And she looks like she’ll be fun to pick on. Always going Teacher this and Teacher that.” He mocked, before turning back to Chan. “So, what are you planning on doing?”
Chan settled on one of the beanbags beside Jeongin, whose full focus was fixed on the video game, fingers fiddling with the controls.
“I kinda have an idea.” Chan says, smirking. “She seems so shy whenever I talk to her, and she’s constantly blushing. I have a feeling that she likes me.”
Changbin looked up from the screen. “I mean, this is probably the first guy who’s talked to her since she moved to town.”
“Shut up, Changbin.”
Seungmin scoffed. “Get to the point, Chan. What’s your plan?”
“I’m going to ask her out.”

Hiiii🥰🥰 could I get a tony x reader where the reader is related to Peggy Carter in some way. He always flirts and annoys her until something goes wrong at the lab or at SHIELD and they end up getting sent back to the 40s so they have to find Pegs and Howard to help them get back. And while there they realize how much they actually like eachother and all. Pleeeaassee. I really like this idea and I can’t wait to see what you might do. Thank you 🥰🥰
Blast From The Past (Tony Stark x reader)
word count: 2720 (this was longer than expected but oh well)
warnings: mentions of guns, time travel, and this isn’t edited
A/N: okay so I’ve never tried writing anything for Tony so this was a fun challenge and it took me a while to finish but here we are, I hope this is what you asked for, anon :))
Tony Stark, yet again, was visiting another S.H.I.E.L.D base under the orders of Nick Fury. He was what Fury called a consultant and some scientists in one of the bases were said to be working on a breakthrough; something that could advance S.H.I.E.L.D tech. They needed his help in developing something, but they wouldn’t tell him what.
The moment he stepped foot in the base, he was surrounded in a crowd of young agents; trainees he guessed, seeing as though they could not help themselves but be starstruck in his presence.
“Agents, I expected better of you,” a voice echoed through the room, causing the agents to step away from Tony and return to where they were stationed. When the crows cleared, Tony recognized the striking features of Y/N L/N, the woman he’d spent most of his childhood with.
“Y/N, I didn’t know you worked here,” Tony grinned, amused at the sight of Y/N playing into a leadership role at the base.
“Stark, this is my base and you have no business being here,” Y/N scowled, Tony’s presence annoying her.
“Well, Fury would say otherwise,” he smirked arrogantly, earning a huff of realization from Y/N. Of all the people Fury could send, he sent the most infuriating man alive.
“You’re the consultant?” the e/c-eyed girl frowned.
“I think, I am. Then again, Fury refuses to tell me I’m a consultant for,” Tony scoffed, drawing a chuckle from Y/N.
“Before I tell you anything, I’m obliged to tell you that you might have to work on the project for quite a while. Three weeks, at minimum,” Y/N explained, leading him through the base and to an elevator.
“As long as it means I get to see you more? Sure,” Tony smirked as Y/N rolled her eyes before scanning her I.D, shutting the elevator doors.
Y/N and Tony had a complicated friendship—well, if you could call it that. Not many people knew, but the pair were childhood friends before it all came to an abrupt end when Tony and Y/N had an argument when it came to what they wanted to do in life. Y/N, after all, wanted to follow in her aunt’s steps.
“They’re fooling you into thinking this is what you want in life, Y/N!” a young Tony stark yelled out, his voice echoing through the walls of the Stark mansion.
“This is what I want, Tones. I want to help, no matter the price,” Y/N argued back.
“And what if the price is me, huh? I don’t want anything to do with S.H.I.E.L.D,” Tony scoffed. Y/N frowned before her face hardened.
“That’s a price I’m willing to pay,” Y/N rolled her eyes in annoyance before bolting out the front door, never to see Tony Stark again…until he decided he wanted to fly around in a red and gold suit, calling himself Iron Man.
Looking back at the argument, Y/N now knew why he was so adamant about not working with S.H.I.E.L.D. After all, the organization is what kept Tony from his father all those years ago.
When Tony became Iron Man, a silent agreement was formed between them. They were coworkers and their past would not affect that.
The elevator came to a halt and the doors opened, revealing an army of scientists working together in different groups, confusing Tony further. Based off what he was seeing, he still could not figure out what it was Y/N’s scientists were working on. Y/N easily read the expression on Tony’s face before leading him out the elevator and beginning her explanation.
“Time travel has been a myth amongst mankind for quite some time now, but recently, on a HYDRA bust, some of our agents found a new component that could help make it possible. Now, we’re kind of working tooth and nail to get the technology for it working,” Y/N explained, taking in the shock which formed on Tony’s face.
“Time travel shouldn’t be possible,” Tony muttered to himself.
“This component, when it comes into contact with something damaged, it regenerates cells. At first, we thought it was a regenerative component until we heated it wrong and ruined the supply of mangoes we keep in the lab. Turns out, it doesn’t regenerate shit,” Y/N explained.
“And you’re sure this component of yours could help make some sort of time machine?” Tony questioned, leaning his face into his palms as he took in all the work that was going on around him.
“Yes,” Y/N nodded before Tony reluctantly agreed to help with the project.
And that was how Y/N Carter and Tony Stark began seeing each other regularly and for some reason, Tony appeared to make it his personal mission to annoy the shit out of the superior officer.
“You know it would be a lot easier to work if you didn’t distract me with that face of yours,” Tony huffed one day while he was revising the blueprints for the project.
“Are you calling me ugly?” Y/N raised a brow.
“The opposite of that, actually,” Tony smirked, earning an eye roll from Y/N. Most of the days went on like that; Tony making flirty remarks and Y/N doing her best to shrug them off.
All that until finally, the machine was completed! Well, almost. They weren’t able to conduct any tests yet and nobody else knew the state the machine was in. Tony, claiming he didn’t work well with others, booted everyone out the lab before he could think of the best way to get the machine working.
It was 2:39 in the morning when he had the breakthrough that changed everything. In his excitement, he found himself dialing Y/N only to find out that she was still in the building. When he told her there was something he wanted to show her with the machine, she rushed down to the labs and was greeted with the sight of him standing in front of the machine, arms wide open as he welcomed her in.
“I finished it!” Tony exclaimed, excitedly pulling Y/N into a hug, shocking the girl.
“Great, we can probably do something about how to test this thing in the morning,” Y/N smiled happily as she pulled away from the hug.
“I was thinking, maybe we could test this together,” Tony offered, holding his hand out. Y/N hesitated before taking it. He practically tore her arm off when he dragged her to the machine and let it fire up.
“Tony, what about our way—” Y/N was stopped when she was engulfed in a bright light.
When the bright light faded, Y/N found herself looking around the unfamiliar space. Wait, no. Something about it was familiar to her.
       “It worked!” Tony exclaimed excitedly.
“Great, how do we get back?” Y/N questioned. Tony’s face fell, panicking Y/N. Did he not think of a way to bring them back?
“Fuck, I didn’t think of that!” Tony exclaimed and suddenly a loud beeping rang through the room and they knew they were fucked.
Men stormed into the room, wearing uniforms and armed with guns. Y/N began counting the men that begun to surround them and she managed to count at least 27 of them. If she had a decent weapon, hell a dagger even, she knew she could have been able to take them all, but she knew if she had any shot at getting back to the present, she would just have to comply until further notice.
“I’m unarmed,” Y/N stated cautiously, holding her hands up to her head as she kneeled onto the floor.
“The fuck are you doing?” Tony questioned, a confused look painted on his face.
“Sit your ass down, bitch,” Y/N rolled her eyes, kicking Tony’s ankles, forcing him onto his knees.
“Damn, if you wanted me to kneel for you, you could’ve just asked,” Tony muttered, holding his hands above his head too.
“Shut up,” Y/N rolled her eyes as the agents drew closer and closer until they began cuffing the pair.
The pair were assisted to what appeared to be some kind of interrogation room. It was too familiar to her. Sitting on a cold metal chair, handcuffed to a metal table, facing a one-sided mirror.
To her shock, it wasn’t just some agent who came in to interrogate her. No, it was Peggy Carter. Y/N’s eyes lit up in recognition of her aunt in younger years.
“Who do you work for?” her accented voice rang through their ears like smooth silk.
“We’re visiting from the France unit,” Y/N lied, putting on a fake French accent as she explained herself.
       “Ah, oui,” Tony nodded along.
“We weren’t expecting any visitors, and who are you?” Peggy snarled, leaning against the metal table.
“I told you, Miss Carter, I’m Agent Edith Broussard from the Paris base. Check my badge,” Y/N rolled her eyes, motioning to her coat. Peggy reluctantly reached into her coat pocket and pulled out Y/N’s identification card along with her badge. Behold, there it was, the old S.H.I.E.L.D logo and an I.D card from S.H.I.E.L.D’s Paris branch.
“My apologies, Agent Broussard,” Peggy nodded as she uncuffed Y/N from the table.
“This is my—” Y/N explained only to be interrupted.
“Husband. Hi, the name’s Antoine Broussard,” Tony attempted to shake Peggy’s hand only to be stopped by the cuffs around his hand. Peggy looked to Y/N as though to verify he was actually telling the truth and she just nodded.
“Miss Carter, our system, it didn’t work properly. Do you have anyone on base who can help with this?” Y/N questioned, holding up a small remote. Tony looked to her, his face contorting to one of confusion.
“Of course, we do. Howard Stark, he’s our best scientist here,” Peggy smiled, leading them into a lab of sorts.
A sharply-dressed man greeted them, his arms held wide open as he proudly showed off his lab to the new visitors.
“Who’s this lovely lady?” the man smirked, earning an eye roll from Tony. Of course, his father was the only person who could help them.
“His wife,” Peggy deadpanned as Howard’s face fell.
“You got luck with this one then,” Howard winked before turning to Peggy, “What do you need today, oh great Agent Carter?”
“They’re agents from the Paris base and their traveling system malfunctioned and they need help fixing it,” Peggy explained.
“Can’t you fly them out on the next jet to Paris?” Howard questioned.
“That’s the problem. We’re unlisted agents, Mr. Stark. Flying, even on a S.H.I.E.L.D flight, could put us at risk of exposure,” Y/N explained, earning a nod from Howard.
“Let me see this travelling system of yours,” Howard requested, holding his hand out. Y/N reluctantly handed over the small device she herself had been working on.
“This is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. What’s this made of?” Howard muttered as he began to observe the small device he held.
“It’s confidential,” Y/N crossed her arms over her chest.
“I can’t work on something if you won’t tell me what this is for,” Howard huffed, still fiddling with the device he held in his hands.
“That’s what I told her,” Tony muttered, earning a quick glare from Y/N.
“Mr. Stark, as much as I’d like for you to be able to work on this more efficiently, I’m under direct orders from our base not to let any of this information leak. Even if you try contacting our superior about this, they will tell you they know nothing about the project or our existence,” Y/N frowned, earning a look from Tony. Damn, she was good at lying on the spot.
“This could take me months to figure out,” Howard muttered.
“Cut it down to one,” Peggy and Y/N spoke simultaneously, earning a chuckle from both Tony and Howard.
       “That’s impossible,” Howard frowned.
“It is if my husband works on it. He’s one of the most brilliant minds we had on our base and trust me, he knows his shit. He’s one of the scientists who worked on the project,” Y/N smiled, giving Tony a small nudge.
“Well, you must be pretty smart if you managed to work with this stuff,” Howard chuckled in a confident matter.
“Actually, I had nothing to do with that device. I worked on the model we have in the lab,” Tony chuckled nervously as he too scanned the device.
“I made it based off your blueprints. I reverse engineered everything, but I didn’t have time to finish working on it. Not everyone could be a super genius,” Y/N chuckled.
“No, this is great, actually,” Howard mumbled, taking in the workings of the device.
“I’m going to show Agent Broussard to their temporary chambers. I assume you and Antoine can handle this?” Peggy raised a brow, expecting a proper answer.
“Sure,” Howard nodded with a huff before Peggy led Y/N out of the room.
Although they were out of their time, Y/N and Tony somehow managed to fit into roles at the base. Y/N, as she naturally would have, assisted Peggy with taking on the leadership role in the base. She was an outsider, yet Peggy seemed to place her trust in the girl.
Tony, on the other hand, was busy working with Howard in the lab to get them back to their “base in Paris”. For once in his life, Tony felt content. Why? He was finally able to prove to his father how capable he truly was—well, even though Howard didn’t quite know that Antoine was his son.
“Agent Carter, can you bring Agent Broussard down to the lab?” Tony requested over the base’s communication system.
“On our way,” Peggy responded curtly. Over the span of the few weeks, Tony and Y/N found themselves growing fond of each other. After all, they were the only ones they could trust.
When they arrived at the lab, Tony engulfed Y/N in a tight hug, muttering a quick “thank you” into her hair, confusing her.
“I’ll explain later, but we finished the machine!” Tony exclaimed excitedly.
“And you took everything into account this time? We can’t leave any traces of this behind,” Y/N whispered loud enough for only him to hear.
“Yeah, babysitting my dad wasn’t exactly a fun experience, but at least I know how you feel whenever you’re around me,” Tony chuckled.
“Great, can we launch the machine?” Y/N questioned, her eyes gazing upon the gadget in Howard’s hands.
“Don’t you want to test it first?” Peggy questioned, her expression being painted as one of concern.
“I have full faith in you, and it’s been weeks since we left the base, I don’t think we can afford to lose anymore time,” Y/N smiled graciously before taking the machine out of Stark’s hands.
“Wait, there aren’t any records of this project here, are there?” Tony questioned, facing Peggy.
“I already had a talk with Edith regarding the confidentiality of this project. You, Howard, Edith, and I are the only ones with knowledge of this project and that will be how it remains,” Peggy smiled.
“Thank you, Peggy,” Y/N gave a nod of respect before turning to Tony, “Let’s go home.”
“See you around, Agent Edith Broussard!” Peggy smiled only to get a quick response from both Tony and Howard.
“You won’t,” they’d both said at the same time, also drawing a chuckle from Y/N and Peggy. Tony fiddled with the small device until finally, they were engulfed in a bright light.
When the light faded, Y/N took in her surroundings to see she was now in the lab of the present S.H.I.E.L.D. base, the moment after they’d left for the past in the first place. She peered behind her to see Tony smiling down at her like a madman.
“Do I have something on my face?” Y/N’s brows furrowed in confusion.
“I want to thank you for putting me on this project. It was pretty fun working with my dad even if it was as Antoine Broussard,” Tony chuckled, his brown eyes glimmering with joy.
“Well, I wouldn’t be able to work alongside Aunt Peggy if you didn’t manage to finish the machine…even if you fucked up with getting us back,” Y/N chuckled.
“So…dinner?” Tony offered, smiling down at Y/N.
“Sure,” Y/N smiled back as Tony led her out of the lab to begin their search for a restaurant still open at 3 in the morning.

Note
before i start, thank you so much for doing what you do;this blog has given me good advice countless times and i really have to thank you for that.
my issues with my parents are that they don't take me seriously. i can literally go up to them and say: "mom/dad, i think i might be autistic or have ADHD (both would be quite likely) can i get that checked out" and list a bunch of examples why i think that and they'll just be "nah, that can't be, you don't seem like that at all" as of i didn't break my mind over it researching it and talking to people who have it to see if we've had similar experiences just to get some kind of reference as to why i feel the way i feel and why i struggle so much with things that so many other people find so easy.
but then, in the following weeks and months (after talking w them) they just randomly point out things about me that kinda annoy them, like me talking out of turn a LOT or me not looking at people or me having trouble focusing if there isn't also music and a movie going at the same time or mom saying that i seem hyperactive to her because i'm always moving my legs or pacing around or rubbing my hands or drumming on the table with pens. things like that (plus a lot more) were the exact things i was telling them about and they just put it off like it's nothing but as soon as it affects and annoys them it's suddenly very real. at this point i'm struggling to talk to my parents about anything even remotely more serious than generic smalltalk and i'm having a hard time believing myself that my struggles are in fact real and i'm not just making them up.
and also on a less related note; the thing i hate most about my parents: if i'm wearing headphones and couldn't understand what a parent was yelling from somewhere else in the house then it's my fault. but if it's the exact same situation but i'm the one calling and they couldn't hear me, then it's obviously my fault too (i kinda get the first one but srsly how could i not wear headphones when they're constantly arguing with my brother in the room next to mine) (either way if one of the scenarios is clearly my fault, then the other shld be clearly their fault bc that's how logic works)
hhhh, this got quite long. i would love to hear your thoughts about this
a continuation from the other ask about my parents not taking me seriously even when i ask them for help with my hardest problems. that ask didn't really go in the direction i had planned but there is so much going on between my parents and me that i really need to talk to someone about
background: i'm around 15-16 rn and have a brother who's 18. primary school was academically very easy for me (lots and lots of great and even perfect grades) but my brother didn't have it as easy (lots and lots of mediocre and meh grades) so my parents really just kinda let me do my thing while they were constantly busy with my brother. so i got really independant and did all of my stuff on my own bc a) i always had done it that way and b) my parents were already busy and stressed. but after my brother got his first computer and got into video games his grades dropped and my parents started constantly arguing with him and taking away his computer and stuff like that so there was always a lot of tension (and i got to a point where i can't handle people yelling; that's what i was referring to with the headphone thingy at the end of the last ask) i don't know if i can go that far and say that my parents kinda neglected me and my emotional needs in favour of saving my brother grades but that's pretty much the way it feels.
i'm now a sophomore (school works a bit different here but i'm the equivalent of a highschool sophomore afaik, here it's just 10th grade) and starting from about mid 8th grade (end of 2018) i've been struggling a lot with self care and upkeep of my already minimal social circle and academic stuff (i'm at the academically highest level of school you could be at my age without skipping any years) and also mental health.
i got quite depressive and started isolating myself and casting away friends and my grades went down a lot, which really disappointed me because my great grades were kind of my trademark thing. but i didn't feel safe talking to my parents because of the huge distance that we built by me "never" needing their help with stuff.
in that time (almost a year ago, our anniversary is in twenty days or so) i got a girlfriend and i'm hella glad that i can talk to her about everything but i feel like i can't just go dump trauma and parent issues on her forever
about last november or so i was at a pretty low point and was suicidal and that's kind of when i snapped and went to my parents to talk so being cast away and having my issues invalidated really really hurt then and made me spiral even deeper and my gf was the only thing keeping me afloat.
i'm kind of a bit better now but i have rebuilt my view of my parents from "idk we never really interact" to "trying to interact or talk is not worth the energy" and needless to say i don't like them that much
oh and i forgot about all the times i got panic attacks and sensory overloads @ school because there are so many people there (1700 students + 200 teachers) and it's loud everywhere and of course asking my parents for what to do if suddenly everything is too bright and too loud and you can't move or talk because of it didn't get me anywhere (and since i didn't know what it was called or how to describe it properly, i didn't really find any Information online either
and just typing this makes me think of so many more things that they did that aren't okay things to do (a lot of gender identity stuff for example because i'm also neck-deep in that) . but writing this has also helped a lot right now. thank you for being there and listening.
and just in case i'm ever gonna pop back in to say something i'm gonna drop a name for easier identifying
sincerely - 🌌 milky way anon
Hi, nonnie! Thanks for the kind words, I'm really glad my blog has been of help ❤️
I'm sorry your parents are making it hard to believe your struggles are real :( you deserve to be taken seriously and to get access to all the help you might need. Just the fact your symptoms are there and you're noticing them and they're interfering with your daily life is enough to get them checked, regardless of if you need a diagnosis/meds/anything else. No one deserves to live wondering if their struggles are worth discussing with a doctor or professional.
And you're right: if one of those things was your fault, then the other should be theirs, logically. But I don't even think it's "your fault" you didn't hear them because you were wearing headphones, to be honest. I think it's just something that happens from time to time and that doesn't warrant getting mad over; I think it's the kind of thing that simply needs to be talked about so everyone in the household knows how to communicate with everyone else without getting frustrated. It's as easy as saying "hey, whenever I put on headphones I'll just text the family group chat to let you guys know I won't hear you. If you need anything in those moments, just text me instead". I do this with my girlfriend sometimes—if we're wearing headphones and we're in the same room, we simply pat each other when we need something and wait until the other takes off their headphones to talk. It really doesn't have to be an issue where anyone is to blame. You're allowed to take steps to feel safe and comfortable in your house without getting punished for it.
But, of course, this doesn't work if the people around you choose to prioritise "being right" and proving you're wrong over a peaceful and healthy cohabitation, which is what most toxic and abusive people do.
As for your second ask, I would say if it feels like your parents neglected you and your needs because they were always focusing on your brother, then it's okay to say that they did. The fact alone that those feelings are there makes you deserving of talking about it and wanting to heal from it; the cause of those feelings doesn't have to be something major, or sound deeply traumatising when you say it out loud, in order to "count". And people whose emotional needs were consistently met don't feel like they weren't.
I've already shared this video before, but if you want some resources on identifying and healing from emotional neglect, I really recommend watching it. Please bear in mind, though, that the video says it's important to not blame parents for emotionally neglecting you, but I don't think that's the message a lot of people need to hear and I think you should allow yourself to feel angry at your parents for not meeting your needs and causing you trauma. That's pretty much the only thing I'd criticise about the video.
I'm sorry to hear you've been struggling with your grades and mental health lately, nonnie. I had a quite similar experience when I was in high school—I used to always get great grades, but my mental health and trauma put a lot of strain on them (as well as on my social life; I lost a lot of friends in those years) and it was really distressing to see the only thing that made me "worthy" crumble between my fingers like that. I'm still trying to unlearn this idea that your grades define your worth, and it's been really hard.
I'm so sorry your parents weren't there for you when you hit that low 😔 I'm glad your girlfriend could help you stay afloat in that moment, but they absolutely should've been there for you all those times you reached out to them for help with your struggles, and the fact that they didn't is emotionally neglectful of them.
I'm glad you're in a better place now ❤️ I really hope you can find out all the information you need on gender identity and sensory overload and any other issues that might be affecting you. Know that you deserve for your parents to be there for you. You shouldn't have to face any of this on your own, or even with only the support of other people your age. You deserve for them to care. You deserve to have your symptoms checked out. You deserve adult guidance to find resources to help you better understand and manage your struggles.
Sending all my virtual support your way ❤️ and happy belated anniversary to you and your girlfriend!

“Y/N! Need a copy of this report please!”
“Sure thing!”
“Hey! Is my handwriting sloppy ? I’ve always wanted to know”
“Well all I will say is ...maybe try writing slower”
“Argh! knew it”
You were full of soft giggles as you typed away in your typewriter. The phone rang with much gusto until you finally picked it up.
“Colorado Springs PD, how may I help you?...” you answered. With habit, you quickly took your notepad with one hand as you listened to the caller, “Uh huh...” you muttered, whilst writing down, “...sure. I will relay the message to him. Thank you for calling!” You said before you hung up.
Apart from the nonstop sounds of countless typewriters being utilized across the whole room, your ears were always brimming with requests, inquiries and complaints from all. Be it officers, detectives and civilians. Why wouldn’t it be? You were a secretary in the Intelligence Division.
Being mostly surrounded by the detectives in the precinct, you were in the company of quite an interesting bunch.
“Y/N?” Especially One person in particular. “Yes Flip?”
Cheerfully, you greeted. Wearing one of his signature flannel shirts, Detective Flip Zimmerman stood in front of your desk there with his partner Jimmy Creek. “...Could you help me draft a letter to the sergeant, please?”
“Sure thing Flip...” you said, flipping into a new page in the notepad, “I’m just gonna need some details” you continued, “What is this pertaining to?”
“It’s about my resignation”
The pen suddenly dropped out of your hand.
“Your WHAT??“ You yelled out. Never did you think you’d be this loud as you were just now.
Finally unable to contain himself, Jimmy burst into laughter, forcing Flip and the others to join him. Upon realizing their scheme, you scowled.
“Not funny gentlemen” you said sternly, getting up from your chair. “Awww...you should have seen the look on your face” “Well, good for you Jimmy!” You said sarcastically, with your arms folded, watching Jimmy reenact your reaction to the rest of the gang. Shaking your head, you smiled eventually, finding the humor in the situation as you sat down. These men may be detectives, but the inner child had never left their bodies. “Sorry about that” Flip said softly, making you realize he was still standing by your desk. He sounded remorseful, you could tell from his voice. “It’s alright” you replied with a chuckle , before you began to type again.   “Didn’t think you’d be so surprised though” he said, watching you work while casually leaning against the desk. “No it’s just-” looking up, you quickly paused upon seeing his face, “....well you’re a good detective. And...it would be a mighty shame to see you go” you said.
“Thanks” With his eyes never leaving yours, he headed over to his own desk.
When it came to the matters of a criminal investigation, withholding information was a resounding no. But when it came to the matters of your heart, you knew it was best to withhold the most intimate details that lingered within. Especially when those details included your deep, affectionate feelings towards Flip Zimmerman.
It was obvious, You were drawn to him from the very first day. Being the first one you’ve encountered in Colorado Springs PD, he left a lasting impression. You could never forget that first day.
“Why are you staring like that?” He said that day, upon finding your eager eyes staring at the Colorado Springs PD signboard outside the building. Blushing with embarrassment, you struggled to answer. “It’s just that...I’ve never worked for Police before. It’s just unbelievable”  You remembered yourself mutter shyly, looking at the tall figure next to you. “Well...believe it. You’re one of us now”He said, before walking away.
You remembered that small smile he gave. The way he made you feel inclusive with just one line. And the way he looked out for you in the precinct without making you feel you were a pity party.
The silent working hours allowed you to appreciate the handsome man he was. The flannel, the hair, the mustache certainly grew on you, to the point where maintaining eye contact was a difficult task. Possible but difficult.
Jimmy’s laughter did not seem to fade, causing Rookie detective Ron Stallworth to enter the room with curiosity.
“Morning Everyone” he said looking around.
“Ron...” Jimmy cried out, “...you just missed something hilarious” he said, still in the midst of sniggers. Ron looked quite confused.
“Really?” He asked with a chuckle, “And what is that?”
“My embarrassment...”You answered, shaking your head, inciting more laughter from everyone in the room.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
“You always have it up”
“Huh?”
Confused, you looked at Flip from your desk. Running his fingers through his raven hair, his inquisitive expression remained unchanged.
“Your hair...” he said, “It’s always up. Why?”
Feeling your high hair bun on the back of your head, you understood what he meant.
“Well...It’s proper. Isn’t it?” You said.
Being in a workplace, you never intended to look like a distraction. For it was easier to be one as a woman. So you wanted to be far from one. Hair bun, white shirt tucked in a navy blue skirt, you were the definition of proper.
“Y/L/N...” Sergeant Trapp came out of his office. You liked Trapp. He was kind to you.
“I know this isn’t your usual rodeo but...do you mind staying back tonight for some overtime? Gotta hell a lot of paperwork to finish up”
“Of course sir...” you answered in an instant. You’d rather slave away and finish up the work than leave it hanging for later.
And so you did. Two hours into overtime, you noticed the detectives haven’t left office. Huddled around Stallworth’s desk, Zimmerman, Creek and Trapp were engaged in a serious conversation while Ron was on the phone. From the chatter collected in the room, you were well informed of the current investigation about the clan, the organization. You could not forget Ron’s daring attempt that started the case, and grouped the detectives together.
“Oh Mr. Duke I’m so glad you asked” Ron said out loud, as he played his redneck persona, “What happened that day, it just boils my blood just thinking about it. Who do those colored folk think they are? Am I right? Watching the others laugh silently, you could not help but stifle a grin.
“My sister?”
Ron began, suddenly in the mist of thinking, “Pamela? Oh she’s doing great ...” he said, making you furrow your brows with confusion, “In fact, she is dying to talk to you, Sir!” Just like the others, you were very confused. Even more so when Ron was looking directly at you. “You would?” He said, “Aww that would be mighty kind of you sir, let me just grab her” Covering the phone, he sat up, forcing everyone to direct their attention to you.
“Get over here” he mouthed at you. Your eyes widened.
“What?” You mouthed back. Snapping his finger, Flip finally understood what Ron was trying to do. You finally got up as you watched him walk towards you.
“Do it!” Flip said softly.
“Do what?” You asked with genuine confusion while walking with him to Ron’s desk.
“Come on! We’ve seen you do that impression” Ron whispered. He was right. To kill boredom, you would occasionally do an impression of Pamela, Ron’s imaginary sister who claimed to have been accosted by coloreds. You only did it for fun. Never did you think for once it was an audition, and now you were offered the part.
“What? But that’s just crazy” you said.
“This...would be perfect for us. This is gonna help us a lot” Flip said, looking at you. His words did not pressure you. Instead they gently convinced you to see the logic behind all this. Ron’s eyes gleamed as you sighed and took the phone.   “H-Hello?” You answered with a raised voice, “Oh my word...is this really Mr. Duke?” You feigned surprise, letting out an excited laughter. You played along in this game with an unexpected confidence. And Duke seemed to have bought it “Can I just say what an honor it is to hear your voice, Sir!”
Excitement was evident in Ron’s face, while the Sergeant looked surprised. But none of that mattered to you when you saw Flip’s look of admiration, hidden in his face in the form of a small smile.
Grabbing the phone from you, Ron gave you a thumbs up, as he continued the conversation.“Mr. Duke, this is Ron again...” he began, “As much as my sister would love to talk, she’s busy making dinner. Hehe...yes sir...” he said, his voice growing softer “... women sure do belong in the kitchen”
He added, shooting a teasing look at you, watching you roll your eyes and the others silently snigger. But halfway through, you saw Ron’s eyes widen.
“Oh! Really?” He said, “Wow I’d be honored sir. Thank you! Alright, You have a lovely evening too”
Hanging up, everyone held their breath until he finally spoke.
“Well...the big guy’s even more impressed, thanks to you” he said, pointing at you, “...Walter’s gonna give me a call with the meeting details for tonight...Flip, get ready for a Cross Burning” Ron said, setting his gaze over at Zimmerman, who merely nodded. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
“Y/N...what are you still doing here? Go home. I’ll drop you“
Jimmy may have teased you earlier, but he always had cared for you like a sibling. Hence he was surprised to still find you at the office around midnight.
“No Jim it’s okay...” you said, whilst stifling a yawn, “...got some reports to finish up anyway”
Truthfully, with your experience, finishing up paperwork was easy as pie. But the reason that kept you from leaving had no relation to any form of paperwork whatsoever.
With Flip and Ron out meeting the clan for the Cross Burning, you could not help but worry for Flip’s safety. Tonight especially, more than you ever did before.
Sure, Ron would be there to look out, for him. You knew he had his back. But worrying was never correlated with logic.
With Paperwork completed, You searched for petty excuses to hang around. Anything to keep yourself occupied until you could see him walk in through the door, alive and well.
With your eyelids getting heavy, you were tempted to close them, drifting into sleep. Maybe just 10 minutes, you thought. With your head on the table, you let the exhaustion take charge.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The subtle creaking noises of furniture woke you. Opening your eyes slowly, you sensed that morning had dawned already. The office was empty.
And Flip was standing before you.
Relief washing over you like cool water over one’s face, you quickly covered  your mouth to wipe away any form of saliva you had. Embarrassingly, you greeted him with a sleepy smile. “The burning went well I’m guessing?”
“Yep...” he said, “although too much burning for my taste”
You sniffed the hot coffee in the air, which got stronger as he handed you a cup full of it.
“Figured You’d need a good wake up” he said, as you accepted it. “Yeah I do, with the accidental sleeping” you chuckled, taking a sip.
“Yeah, plus you...snore” Flip said, finally giving up to sniggers. You dropped your jaw in shock. “What? I do? Oh no...”You cried out frustratingly, laughing alongside him,  “...was I loud ?” You asked in a whisper.
“No...” he said, sitting on your desk, “...of course not”
“Oh good” Shaking your head in disbelief, you casually took off the hairpins off your messy head, letting the cascade of hair flow over your shoulders.
“Wait...” Flip said, “...you got uh...” Reaching out, he casually brushed a strand of hair off your face, which did not alarm you. For all the times you’ve waited for him to do this, you were secretly ecstatic. The moment eyes locked in each other’s, his hand did not leave. Instead his thumb grazed over your left temple. The way he stopped by your cheek, seemed to be a physical way of seeking permission. And your unaffected silence was your consent.
His touch comforted you, and for a man of his stature he was as gentle as he could be. As much as you were silent and welcoming, you wanted to make your intentions clearer. You took a daring risk the moment thumb brushed over your mouth. Pressing your lips against his finger, you embraced it with adoration, making sure he could feel it to the inner core.
And within seconds, your risk was deemed worthy the moment he moved towards you, quickly kissing you on the lips.
A sense of unrealized fulfillment came over you as you kissed Flip Zimmerman. You were excited, invigorated and intoxicated at the same time.
Pulling away, deep breaths were exchanged as foreheads were placed together. “Pretty...” Flip blurted out shyly, “....you look pretty with your hair down” he said, with his fingers tangled in your loose hair. You chuckled. “Thanks...” you said, placing the coffee cup on the table, “....you should see me in my normal clothes..” you joked, “I look much better “ you added with a smile. Flip’s eyes grew warm.
“Yeah I should...” He smiled back, “...maybe when we grab a bite sometime...”
Overjoyed, you kissed him once again with even more enthusiasm, grateful for the overtime work shift that made all this possible. ——————————————————

𝐍𝐨 𝐏𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐟𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝
Requested by @whats-goingon22: Good morning :)! I have a request where John B has a younger sister who works at the wreck and doesn’t always get to go on the missions because she’s working. Well, one day DCS shows up for her, with a cop on standby. And it’s a kicking and screaming match but they manage to get her in the police car. DCS woman and cop go to talk to Kiara’s dad, and she’s left in the car, freaking out, but she doesn’t know is that John b and the pogues saw the whole thing and are trying to get her out the car?
Description: Y/N is John B’s sister, and hasn’t been kept in the loop because he is worried about her getting hurt along with their treasure hunt. He fails to tell her that DCS is back to sniffing around and sticking their noses where it doesn’t belong. Y/N gets taken by Cheryl, but she can’t break herself out alone.
A/N: I have zero ideas on how DCS works so I just pulled from the show and how they portrayed it. This one was a little different than what I am used to, but I really liked writing it. I am sorry it took me so long I just saw it at the bottom of my inbox:( I hope you like it:) As always my requests/asks/messages are open. Thank you all so much for reading my work:)
Tumblr media
Being a Pogue meant having a job as soon as you were able to work because that’s what it takes to stay above water. I was no exception to this, especially when my father disappeared and Uncle Teddy decided that his gambling took precedence over me and my brother, John B. The Routledge kids were what we had been called growing up, never really seeing one without the other. Though in recent weeks that has not been true. John B had lost his job working for Ward Cameron after he stole scuba tanks. We found a shipwreck on the marsh maze and John B wanted to see what contraband was on the ship. John B and our best friend JJ had come up with the idea that it was a smuggling ship. I mean they could have been right, who willingly goes out, in an open boat, in a hurricane if they are doing something legal?
The ‘scuba mission,’ as Kie and I had coined it,  was the last one that I had been told about. The guys, especially John B, made sure that I was safe by going on missions while I was at work. After the groupers had shot at us in the marsh JB wasn’t having it. Not one bit. He said I needed to stay as far out of it as possible. The only reason that I had found out about the compass or that all of this had related back to our dad was because of Peterkin. She was trying to keep JB and me afloat and on the island. When I found out that John B had given her the compass I was pissed, to say the least. That was the last thing that we had left of our father and he handed it off the Peterkin for what? Protection? We didn’t need protection, we had been just fine for months now.
Because of our fight, JB and I had been avoiding each other for a couple of days, not exactly speaking. I wanted John B to know that he messed up giving our father’s compass to the cops, but because of my own stubbornness, I had no idea what the group had been up to. They seemed to always been leaving early in the morning or coming in late, making it easier to avoid John B, but still left me completely in the dark. I tossed my keys in a basket, rounding the corner to the main area of the house.
I jumped as I saw a large man to my right, he moved to stand blocking the hallway I had just moved from. I looked in front of me and there she was, Cheryl. The dreaded DCS lady. I rolled my eyes and huffed as she stood up crossing her arms across her chest.
“Cheryl look, I told you that Uncle T would be back tonight, so it’s a bad time for check-in as it’s only like what?” I look down at my wrist, pretending to read a watch. “Like 11 am.” I took a step away from the large man standing only feet from me.
“We’re here to take you, Y/N.” She stayed standing up. I scoffed and moved further into the house and toward the kitchen. “We know teddy hasn’t been here for months.”
“What? You and Mr.Bighead here stalking me now?” I asked. I met eyes with the officer, before trying to move through the kitchen to get outta the house.
“That was a mistake, kid.” He said before barreling into me and grabbing my arms behind my back. “You’re not getting outta here.” I heard the clink of metal and felt the cool handcuffs slide around my wrists.
“Seriously Cheryl?” I asked, my eyes growing wide. I tried my best to move my arms trying to get myself away from the officer. “Isn’t this a little bit excessive?” She eyed the officer behind me as if to ask the same question. I pulled myself away from him as he began to answer
“Already lost of Routledge today, we’re not gonna make it two.”
Then it sank in, they tried to get John B too. I had to get out of this. I began walking toward Cheryl. “Really? See Uncle Teddy just went to the mainland for the day to get some supplies and stuff. Ya know, we did just have Hurricane!” I exclaimed. She just shook her head. She didn’t believe me.
That’s when I decided to bolt. I ran past Cheryl bumping her shoulder hard enough to make her fall into the couch behind me. I pushed myself against the swinging door. And into the back yard. My hands being held behind my back by the cuffs proving to make it much more difficult. I heard yelling behind me as I tried to hurry down the stairs without face planting. I made it into the yard realizing I had nowhere to go through the back. My hesitation cost me my escape though. Before I knew it the officer was on my tail and lunged forward stopping me from moving ahead. I got a face full of dry dirt and dead grass.
“Seriously, kid just get in the car and things will be a lot easier for the two of us.” The officer started to pull my arms in the direction of his cop car. I, of course, was not getting in the car of my own accord. So I stood my ground, making my weight hard, trying not to move.
Before I could realize what was happening the officer huffed and lifted me by my middle. I started kicking my legs back and forth trying to pull myself from his grip. It seemed effective. I glanced at the car seeing Cheryl standing by the open SUV door with her arms crossed. “Why are you doing this? I’m literally doing just fine here!” The cop turned and I was able to see into the woods.
What caught my eye made me want to smile, or cry. I couldn’t tell at the moment. I saw a mop of golden hair first and then my brother standing beside him, both hunched over hiding behind a tree. JJ put his finger to his lips telling me not to say anything. Then I looked beside him, John B’s face held nothing but fear. He nodded at me, and I nodded back, silently agreeing that we would get out of this. The officer put me in the car and walked to the driver’s side. I had to think fast and quick. The Wreck, no doubts that Kie was there, and it was close enough that the boys could follow us there.
“Cheryl this is great and all really, but Um? Now I’m all dirty and gross.” She scoffed and turned to look at me. “So this is supposed to be better? Sending me to the mainland with nothing but the dirty clothes on my back.” She looked at the officer who just rolled his eyes and shook his head.
“Is there anyone that we can stop and talk to? Get your clothes while we do your paperwork?” She questioned.
“You mean besides Uncle Teddy?” I scoffed, causing Cheryl to roll her eyes this time. “Yes, the Carreras, they’ve been helping me and John B a lot,” I stated.
Cheryl looked at the officer and nodded. I guess they never need to speak. They must pull kids from their happiness often, they have it down to a science. I pulled on the metal cuffs, each minute that passed making them more uncomfortable.
As the car rolled over the gravel of the parking lot to the Wreck. “Can you take these damn things off please?” I said shaking the metal so they could hear. “They're too tight and they hurt.”
“Not a chance. You’ve already decided to be a flight risk.” He said.
Before Cheryl got out of the car she asked the officer to lay off a bit. I appreciated her sliver of humanity she seemed to have left. I huffed leaning back onto my arms in the hot cop car. “So officer,” I started, my tone coming off mocking,” What’s your name?” He stayed quiet, just looking at me through the rearview mirror. “Ight. Good talk.”
I looked out the window to see Kie. Flailing her arms in the direction of the police car. Her hair was all messed up. “Officer you need to help me. There- there was someone over there they yelled at me and they ran that way! They were super scary.” She pointed to the woods behind her. “Please!” She begged as she came closer to the car. The officer opened the door before pressing the lock button and pulling his keys from the ignition. He slowly moved out of the car and toward Kie. She kept pointing him in the direction away from the car. I looked around frantically trying to figure out how to get out of the car. A knock to the window to my right scared me causing me to jump.
John B was hunched down just below the window. “Unlock the Door!” He whispered through the glass, the urgency clear in his voice. I reached around trying to use my hands from behind me to pull the lock pin up and unlock the door. I saw the deputy getting upset with Kie, obviously learning that she did not have anything actually wrong with her.
Then the pin clicked up and the door was unlocked. Everything after happened so fast. I almost fell out of the car as John B pulled it open the second the lock was up. I fell into JJ, who hurried me to the side of the Wreck and into Kie’s SUV. I pulled myself into the back corner ducking my head down as the rest of the pogues followed suit. Pope taking the driver's seat. We pulled out as Cheryl came out to see the back door to the SUV open and the cop cursing himself. Both looked dumbfounded, enough to cause me to chuckle a little bit.
Once we were safely away from the others I sat up. “So who knows how to pick a lock so I can get out of these cuffs?” I posed as Kie and Pope turned to look and see that I was in fact still in handcuffs. Kie reached up and pulled a bobby pin from her hair.
“Turn around.” She laughed and began to work on getting the cuffs undone”
“That was pretty badass back there Y/N,” JJ spoke from the passenger seat.
“Maybe, but you're lucky we saved you.” John B chuckled.
“Don’t be so cocky. I heard they got you too.” I said as Kie got the handcuffs unlocked. Holding them up victoriously.
“Thanks for saving me though guys,” I said with a smile.
“No pogue’s left behind,” John B said reaching around Kie to squeeze my shoulder.
