I think it’s very important that you know that Matt Roy, the Matt Roy that the Capitals just signed, has a fucking LinkedIn profile

I’ve seen former players or like low-level minor league players with LinkedIn pages, but never before have I seen an active NHL player with a LinkedIn before. It’s all filled in with descriptions and everything! This is absolutely a man who went to college and went to the career center at least one time.

It's funny to hear how nervous Aabria was to play Gilmore in front of Matt. Understandable! But it's also, for me, who hasn't watched campaign 1 yet, my first experience with him in game, outside of The Legend of Vox Machina. We didn't have that much time with him there either, so it just so happens that Aabria's version of Gilmore is the one that I've first fallen in love with!

i love dex but i reallyyyyyy wish they hadn’t played into the tired ableistic trope of diagnosing him with bpd. especially considering you can’t even get properly diagnosed with personality disorders until 18 (at least in the US) and i think it would’ve been better if they left his diagnosis up to interpretation.

#they could’ve diagnosed him with RAD or ODD but those also play into heavy ableism involving kids with attachment trauma #particularly with foster youth and adoptees so im not a big fan of it either #but those are the precursor diagnoses that tell psychiatrists ‘this kid is on their way to developing a pd’#so that was an option #not a great one because of the stigma and stereotypes that go along with them but it was a more realistic option #but im personally tired of having every character with bpd be a serial killer #obviously this is not the only instance of ableism in nmcu dd but i haven’t seen it talked about before so #also i don’t think he has bpd. I need to rewatch to psychoanalyze him again #it would’ve just been better for them not to diagnose him especially bc 5/9 criteria isn’t fucking murder ?!#but i don’t think he fits the criteria #you know who does imo though? matt #and they’re paralleled to each other but i personally think later in adult life #matt meets the criteria more #(also before anyone is like ‘why are u allowed to do this and not the writers’ it is bc i have the aforementioned disorder #and have done extensive research on it because i was also told i had it at the same age as dex so i really saw myself in him and was #disappointed when his diagnosis was shown on screen. i talked to my therapist about it and she shares the same opinion)#bullseye #benjamin poindexter #daredevil tv #nmcu daredevil #nmcu inspired #ableism in media

i think part of why matt is underestimated in the house is ableism straight up. he was clearly overwhelmed the first two to three weeks and trying to adjust to being around so many people, to get comfortable asking people to repeat things and get used to people’s quirks when they speak, and over the weeks people have been taking him into account more (purposefully sitting where he can see their face, asking him if he understands, getting his attention when a group chat is happening & he looks spaced out, etc) so game talk has gotten easier, but at the same time, the image of him being like, overwhelmed and helpless, has stayed in a lot of people’s minds.

and tbh he’s clearly played that up which is smart! he definitely plays into his silly side & he says stupid shit like “a fun fact about me is i’m deaf” lol, and meanwhile people spill game info to him all the time bc he’s just silly matt, never mind he’s the best rat in the house! it’s interesting to watch him take his disability and the unfair way it’s been handled by production and even house guests and then use it to his advantage in the game.

#bb25 #and like yeah still fuck him for the andrew tate thing. but being so visibly disabled & navigating that in this game so well is impressive #to me as a physically disabled person but also from like. a game and great society standpoint. not to brag but we see ableism #and we turn that shit around!!!! i hope they cast more disabled people in the show.#matt klotz #also like - look at who he hangs with & likes ratting to. it’s the people who take him into account.#i think what made him sour on jared specifically & warm up to cory was that comment.#a little mindfulness towards other people can go a long way!#also hope i phrased this all okay obviously my disability is illness based and slightly more invisible so i have a very different experience #but that’s also why i’ve liked watching bc you get this really intimate look at what living with a disability different from yrs looks like
