If you don’t mind the questions, how’d the Tortuga gang react to Chris tagging along? I assume they understood Chris would be joining them early on into Martin being accepted, but I imagine the situation was more like. Martin snagging a new job on the Tortuga >> realizing he can’t take this job and leave his brother alone >> Chris says don’t worry just take me with you >> Martin nervously asking heyyyyyyyy is it cool if my little brother comes with?
Obviously everyone had to be cool with it eventually, but do you know what Aviva, Koki, and Jimmy had going through their heads when a mildly emo, 14yo Chris rolled in with a deeply anxiety-ridden Martin?
This is kinda the awkward phase of the team's relationship where they know Martin is struggling, but he's not willing to let them help just yet.
The second Chris finds out about the Tortuga it becomes his life-mission to convince Martin to let him go on the trip (it will not be difficult at all to convince him)
Martin is just hesitant because he wants to make sure he's not being selfish in his decision to join the team. Of course Chris wants to go too, but Martin is trying to think of his best interest.
Of course, he eventually realizes that the team genuinely cares about them and he's willing to let them help out with Chris, and then the found-family can commence!!!

Been meaning to post this in a while! The official 🇧🇷 version of MDZS is really impopular around here for the childish illustrations and bad revision, but this one was TOO FUNNY for me not to share.

Three new episodes of Wild Kratts will be airing in November of 2024. Salamander Streaming, Bumblezzz, and Chimpanzee and Me.
The synopsis for Bumblezz is yet to come, however we have plots for Salamander Streaming and Chimpanzee and Me.
Salamander Streaming - Airing Monday November 4th, 2024.
Mysteriously, the Tortuga shorts and powers down while the gang is streaming a movie. Koki says it won't be back today. What are they going to do? Chris and Martin announce they can still do streaming - salamander streaming! The rest of the gang wonders, what in the world is salamander streaming? The bros explain that salamander streaming is getting miniaturized and floating down a stream in tiny little boats looking for salamanders, of course! It's a race to find as many salamanders as they can while Koki tries to fix the Tortuga.
Pre-Episode Thoughts:
This was one of the episodes that the brothers announced at their live shows. I think that they will be focusing on tiger salamanders. Either way, I think it's gonna be cool that we might have a Salamander Power Suit.
WK's pop-culture references in the modern seasons are really hit and miss, but this is actually some good fucken wordplay with streaming.
If the Tortuga really is powered down, then will we actually see Salamander Power? Or is it gonna be like Mystery of the Squirmy Wormy where the brothers don't use any Power Suits? Either way, I'm looking forward to it.
Chimpanzee and Me - Airing - Airing Wednesday, November 6th, 2024
The gang travels deep into Uganda's tropical forests to uncover the true nature of the chimpanzee, but Chris sprains his ankle at the most inopportune time and can't participate. He is sad and upset. It's the climbing adventure that he's always looked forward to most. He tries to hide his disappointment and gets support from his friends, but it is a young chimp who shows him how to truly make the best of a bad situation.
Pre-Episode Thoughts:
This was another episode that Martin had hinted at the live shows. What's funny is that 2D Martin also expressed the idea of heading into the African rainforests in Rattlesnake Crystal (an episode that IRL Martin wrote). Again, not sure why it took them almost a decade and a half to get to this, but I digress.
Goddamn we are getting a LOT of angst in S7. Between this, No Name Dream, and the most recent episode, A Fish Out of Water, we're getting more character-driven plots, (especially if you count Paisley's redemption in the special). And while this does seem to be similar to Flight of the Draco, this does seem to have an intereting twist. Chimpanzees have many abilities apart from climbing, such as intellect, empathy, craftiness, and communciation. Maybe Chris will discover that and eventually use those skills to rescue the chimpanzees and/or the gang from a bad situation later.
Also, baby chimps are really fucking cute. I so hope that Chris gets to name it in the episode.
I've debated with my friends on this, and I do hope that we see a Chimpanzee Suit.. but knowing how anatomically similar chimps are to humans, and given how uncanny the Power Suits in the modern seasons have been.... I very much wonder.
That being said, if there is gonna be a Chimp Suit, I wonder if Chris will be the one to invent it? Assuming that he's staying behind at the Tortuga throughout this episode and makes the observations, then it would make sense that he'd invent the suit. Martin invented the Ermine Power Disc back in Season 5, so maybe Chris could invent a Chimpanzee Suit. Part of me thinks it'll backfire just as horribly, but after the bullshit that was the Indri-Conda Suit, I'm willing to accept anything 😭😭
"Did you get in trouble for taking the cup into the ocean?"
"Yes. Yes."
"Did Rodrigues? He took it in there too!"
"Did he?"
"Yeah!"
"Well, I mean, I brought it under the water—looking back..."
"What happened?"
"You bring silver into the ocean, saltwater—no!"
"Oh, I didn't know that."
"I haven't slept! How am I supposed to know? Nobody told me the rules!"
"You haven't slept!"
"Yeah, but you're naughty—"
"But hey! If I would've known about it... oh no, I still probably would've done it. Still probably would've done it!"
"Dude, who cares! That thing has been abused all through the years!"
"No, no! The cup guys understood, the cup keepers understood—they, you know, told me the rules after and I swear to God I didn't know before but, yeah. Great memories! Great pictures!

oceangate evolves further the more we talk about it so if youd like to see the other previous developments in concerns to it...
and also because its funny here are some of the times the cup has been held near or above water both salt, fresh and chlorine alike since oceangate in no particular order
and i just think its very clear when oceangate happened because now everyones holding the cup high above the water/near bodies of water and not letting it get dunked
but pre-oceangate the cup was just dunked in maffhews pool hours after they won it (which was before they went to las olas and welp the rest is history)
WE’VE BEEN OPERATING ON THE UNDERSTANDING OF DEAD PARENTS SINCE THE START BUT NOW WE’RE COMING IN CLUTCH WITH THE REVELATION THAT ACTUALLY THEY JUST WENT TO ANOTHER WORLD? IN THE SERIES ALL ABOUT JUST GOING TO OTHER WORLDS?
LAVA LAMP WATANUKI PARENTS STILL ALIVE????
LIVING SAKURA AND SYAORAN PARENTS OUT THERE STILL RIGHT NOW?
DO WE KNOW THEM?
HAVE WE MET THEM?
AND YUUKO KNEW
I MEAN ok that’s probably the least surprising thing, since it’s pretty much a given that Yuuko knows almost everything at any given moment, but HELLO PLEASE HOLD THIS PLOTLINE IS RAPIDLY SPIRALLING CLOSER AND CLOSER AROUND THESE MISSING PARENTS AND WHO THEY MIGHT BE
the thing is, like, imogen is blunt, and indecisive, and impulsive. she's cynical, angry at the world, and seemingly much less interested in doing good than in holding on to her loved ones. she's hypocritical, incredibly violent one moment and horrified at the prospect the next. she's passive aggressive, on occasion. she's overly critical. she's scatterbrained.
and all of that stuff is very fucking fascinating, and so fun to watch, and core to what makes her her. but not only are those things not the totality of imogen as a character, they're very much inextricable from the things that make her sympathetic.
imogen has spent much of the last decade of her life in pain, and isolated because of it. when she wasn't alone she couldn't relax, having to keep tight control over her mind so as to not get overwhelmed or invade the privacy of others. because even through all that pain and loneliness, she still bore the responsibility not to impose on other people's minds. and when she fails or slips up or gives in, all of the distrust and suspicion she recieves regardless is suddenly viewed as justified.
which is not to say imogen is not responsible for her actions, or the harm she causes others. of course she is! no one is saying she isn't! but, just like literally every other person, her actions don't exist in a void but within the context of both her past and present.
analyzing that context and coming up with explanations of her behavior that consider it is not excusing her actions or refusing to acknowledge her flaws. it is not coddling imogen to sympathize with her even when she's fucking up. these are pretty standard ways to discuss a character you enjoy actually! it's weird that having a nuanced perspective on a character's actions is being treated as an issue!
thinking about Ulysses's past coming to light in a crash, thinking about the way suddenly everything is coming back, the way Vorago is suddenly at the forefront of Ulysses's mind after the note. the way leviathan has been spotted close by, the way Ulysses was scrambling to grab everything he had been working on for Wolf, the way he was trying to help, but how he has the nasty habit of making things worse for himself, logic too skewed even if he truly doesn't mean any harm
thinking about how the honey was a mess, how there was so much of it, how he scrambled for the things in those barrels as well when he went to run
thinking about how a unethical scientist's idea of 'making things better' could very well veer back into the 'making something to fix the danger problem' even if it never worked before
thinking about how if he learned anything, he wouldn't dare try and create something, or someone new, not after the first dozen failed attempts that only made things worse and only wiped the Telchin out quicker,
but a sedative, though one that had to be made much stronger...
thinking about how Ulysses as a character is so desperate to fix things he always tends to make things worse
I'm having brainworms about the Tower ending again like axnynsnfrnndndn.
Like. For Vince's canon the relationship with Kerry develops alongside the events of PL and they really get to know each other well. Lots of solid groundwork laying that's super solidified post-Mikoshi when their relationship truly becomes serious and fully committed.
In an AU where Vince decides to go through with the Tower ending, this base would still exist in the same way, but then he just disappears from Kerry's life, and, with all that's been going on, Kerry eventually assumes the worst... but is well enough at that point through the impact V left on his life to not fall back into the worst of his old patterns. Like yeah, it's hard and it sucks, but if anything, he owes V to seize the opportunities he made possible for him. And so he does that, even if he's always wondering what really happened, at some point maybe even doubting if V was even real and not just a vision or hallucination or whatnot induced by whatever.
And then randomly, in the middle of a show, he shows up again via holo like wtf. Kerry's made his peace with it all already in a way and is so taken aback, who wouldn't be? The old feelings begin to resurface, but it still takes some time to cope. I think he would call back after a few days to make sure it's really V, this is really real, and figure out what to do about it now, bc yeah, his career has reached new heights, but no fling or acquaintance ever quite reached what he'd been headed to with Vince.
Meanwhile, to Vince it feels like no time passed at all, his old life is in shambles in some way, but he's built himself up from the ground several times before. That at least gives him some solace in it all, but overall the first few days/weeks after waking up in Langley suck big time. And surely Reed or the NUSA will continue to pry now and then like "you sure you dont wanna come back, we could set you up with a cozy desk job, you still got so much potential" etc etc. But no thanks.
But then, when Kerry calls back, they begin to catch up, slowly but surely, and beginning to rekindle what they had, thinking about where this all could lead to with V's new condition and all, what a future together could look like and if it would work for both of them.
And there is a lot of uncertainty, as all of this happens over the phone, but I think Kerry especially would be more of a physical touch and closeness type of person, so from his side it's all a bit more uncertain, more vague. But the day they finally meet up again in person (at Dark Matter ofc) the uncertainty is blown away and aaahffycnsarnnssnamfm
I just finished reading green arrow 2023 and I’m thinking about a pre-nu52 dickroy au set shortly after bruce returns to life and dick goes back to being nightwing, but with lian’s current backstory mixed in. the timeline is pretty much standard pre-boot canon, with the major exception that lian “died” like a month before bruce did, and then got yoinked around through time and space, eventually landing in gotham.
so at the time the story starts, she’s ~14 and running around alleytown doing vigilante stuff as cheshire cat, and befriends damian, who’s ~12-13 and struggling to adjust to life with bruce back. they end up working an investigation together (damian doesn’t tell anyone about this) and end up accidentally teleported to a secret base on a distant planet. cue wacky home alone style alien base sabotage hijinks! but they’re gonna need to get home eventually, so they hack some comms to send a coded message back to dick where damians like “richard come pick me up also btw im here with lian she has blue hair and says she’s your niece”.
meanwhile dick is struggling to figure out how to be himself again now that bruce is back, and is still helping out too much in gotham while repressing his conflicted feelings about everything. he and roy aren’t really talking, because a month after roy’s daughter died, dick dropped everything and got sucked into gotham as batman and wasn’t there for roy at all. and there were reasons for that! bruce was dead! but roy did everything to be there for dick when donna died, and this is part of a pattern of dick’s, and there’s a lot of hurt and they haven’t talked about it at all.
but suddenly lian is alive and with damian on an alien planet! naturally dick and roy go on a rescue mission road trip (kory helps with space stuff), and in the process are forced to actually work through all their many years of built up issues. so they’re having vicious arguments and opening up about grief and working through painful memories, all while fighting their way through an alien jungle full of giant carnivorous bugs or something. and we cut between that and little cameos of lian and damian doing fun spykids-but-with-aliens antics! (and eventually we get a happy ending where dick commits to choosing roy & lian & damian & himself over bruce & gotham.)
