I have a firing date!

it’s July 6th, so (if all goes well) I should have my pottery back a few days later and I can start taking pictures and shipping things out. super excited to see it all, and also already terrified for Kiln Time 🙃

(this isn’t even all of it, but it’s most of it! (plus a pigeon))

and my studio is out of white clay for the next month 🙃 so I’m making some red clay pieces this week. I’ve got a little white clay at home but I’m gonna have to ask a friend for a ride to the local pottery store soon

What if the day before it happens he goes to sit down in his chair after tucking his kids to sleep, his mind racing with plans to do for tomorrow, he thinks about the tasks for the cookies tomorrow, and for the first time in a long time, he can feel the heaviness of his eyelids.

His body feels like lead and he’s sinking into the chair.

He thinks “wow, I’m so tired today.”

He thinks “I don’t even need Dapper’s Melatonin Cake.”

He thinks and thinks of so many things. He can’t even tell the numb pangs on the side of his head.

He keeps thinking, and thinking and thinking about tomorrow, about his projects, about the sun, about the EGGS, about his friends, and then he’s out.

When Dapper finds him, he’s not breathing.

News breaks out “BadBoyHalo is dead.”

It drifts around the island like sand in the desert.

The Feds go into his home to take his body away.

Dapper is biting them and clawing at them, while Pomme stands by the side, gripping her scythe tight.

Dapper can’t yell, he can’t scream, all he can do is scratch and punch and cry and tear at their pants.

He thinks “No. Don’t take my dad away! Don’t take him from me! I can bring him back!”

But they can’t hear, and he’s not placing any signs.

BadBoyHalo went quietly, probably a death that he doesn’t deserve.

Then he walks out from the other room in a new bathrobe or something and he goes “What’s up muffins ahaha?”

Things that happen at home:

So the tl;dr is that my mom is awesome and adopted a semi random teenager for three weeks.

The long version is that one of Youngest Siblings friends was like “hey, my narcissistic dad chose his new girlfriend over me, can I crash with you guys for a bit until my mom is back in the country?”

Any my mom, who is amazing, was like “yeah, sure, but one of the weeks you need to crash here is going to be a week that I’ve been planning to vacation out of state, for over six months. So. Oh! Oldest Daughter can check on you once a day! That way every body is good to go!” Which is really just code for I like and trust this kid, but also this kid doesn’t have a fully developed brain yet, please make sure my house doesn’t get lit on fire since this is no longer the 1980s.

But yeah, the kid is a genuine sweetheart, great with animals, helpful…just a genuinely good kid with an actual plan for her life that she’s actively working towards.

I want to kidnap her and make sure that she knows that she can have a new family any time she wants, that we’re always going to want her kind, quiet energy around all the time, and that she’s valid and valued and vindicated all the freaking time.

Kidnapping is heavily frowned upon, so we won’t be doing that, but I still really really really want to.

Too many comic artists draw old Beast Boy as a ripped hunk, like dehydrated Hugh Jackman. It always ends up looking goofy as fuck and ugly to boot.
