had a thought while rewatching 92sies (and doing math homework) so here it is:

in 92sies, when you become a newsie you suddenly are able to hear the music; that's why Davey looked a bit confused during The World Will Know - he was suddenly hearing this instrumental that he's never heard before that the others are singing along to. during the end bit of Carryin' The Banner, after he ran into Jack, he couldn't hear the music because he wasn't technically a newsie yet* and just thought that the newsies were a bit crazy lol

*(he hadn't bought any papers yet; once you buy papers with the intent to sell them as a newsie, you become a newsie officially, as so deemed by the universe) (the universe being my brain when I thought of/about this lol)

I am in love with the concept of the demons in the devildom having to shed their horns, as well as possible shedding of fur, feathers, scales, or skin. With this we have to assume the demon's horns align closer to antlers than actual horns, since horns don't shed, but antlers do. Either way these are magical creatures so fuck logic. I can do what I want. Maybe they don't actually fall off, but instead shed a layer of keratin, keeping the horns shiny, strong, and unmarred. For some demons this shedding is easier, like for Lucifer and Diavolo's horns. However, with demons like Mammon and Barbatos, the details on the horn make it much harder to come off, often needing assistance.

The shed keratin from demon's horns can be used for other things, typically the creation of beauty products, and demons can get good grimm for handing in shed horn layers. I also think Satan will have to do this with his tail.

Now, the feathered demons tend to have the problem of occasional molting, and losing feathers. I'd also imagine they'd have to spend a lot of time preening and plucking their wings. Lucifer might need your help pulling a blood feather or two. Help him, please. Fur. I'm mostly thinking Belphie here. He sheds. Everywhere. Usually Beel helps by brushing out his fur, but you can definitely assist as well, it's lot of fur and four hands are better than two. Scales, this is for Levi. Please help him shed. It's not comfortable and he can't pay attention to his games if his scales have a layer peeling off. Dunk him in water, get him some nice rocks to rub up against, and peel off anything that gets really stuck. He'll be smooth, shiny, and happy afterwards.

And for the demons with wings that aren't feathered? I assume they'd need to be cared for as well. The thin wing membrane will need moisturizing. For the bug demons? help them shed their exoskeletons. I'm thinking specifically Beel and Asmo here. Yes, I headcanon they have to shed like bugs. Beel not as much, since he's a fly, but Asmo's sin animal is a scorpion, he's gonna need to get rid of that old exoskeleton as he grows. Also he comes out so much shinier and more beautiful! You gotta help him be as gorgeous as he can be!

All and all demon forms need a lot of maintenance. But that's okay, you're there to assist. Hey, maybe this will help you bond. guys…. what did the human theory do to some of y’all? like yea it’s not what a lot of us expected but there’s beauty in it too. how they can properly be a part of earth, after so many centuries of chipping in and not getting to close to real people. they will be able to experience an actual life together, face the normal struggles and joys that we mortals do without having to worry about how the higher ups would feel about ‘frivolous miracles’. and, if we assume heaven and hell made them human and when they die they will just disappear forever, then they can finally rest. milleneas of working and working and working and now they can pass away feeling loved and whole and depressed and nostalgic and happy and so wonderfully human. have you seen the look in aziraphale’s eyes when he tells Adam he is human incarnate? he is proud. he is joyful. being a human is something that he values and respects.

I think that the reason many people don’t like this theory is that it does mean they won’t live forever. it is comforting to think of them as these eternal spectators, who will watch all of the future and have watched all of the past, it’s the dynamic that we have always loved. but, as Crowley himself said, “nothing lasts forever”. would our two inefables being able to grow properly old together in the South Downs cottage be such a bad ending?

Was reading tv tropes because that's what I do when I'm bored and Kotoko is.... Just REALLY tragic hero coded. Let's get into it.

"The truly tragic kind of suffering is the kind produced and defiantly insisted upon by the hero himself so that, instead of making him better, it makes him worse and when he dies he is not reconciled to the law but defiant, that is, damned. Lear is not a tragic hero, Othello is." - W. H. Auden

Kotoko sets out to do something heroic (Saving people, avenging people who cannot avenge themselves, that sort of thing), but makes herself suffer more by doing so to the point that she falls apart and the goal deteriorates. "Instead of making [her] better, it makes [her] worse".

The tragic hero is a longstanding literary concept, a character with a Fatal Flaw (like Pride, for example) who is doomed to fail in search of a Tragic Dream despite their best efforts and good intentions.

Mhm, yeah, uh, a character who wants good but ultimately fails to achieve it due to having some sort of flaw? A weakness one might say? Kotoko genuinely wants good, but due to simply having flaws and, from her perspective, weaknesses, she cannot achieve what she wants to or twists her goal in some way.

A Tragic Hero can work as a protagonist or an antagonist. As an antagonist, their goals are opposed to the protagonist's, but the audience still feels sympathetic towards them.

We ssee Kotoko as the "protagonist" via her own MVs, but we also see her as the "antagonist" to other characters. Shidou, for example, wants to save people in order to preserve his own purpose and Kotoko wants to deliver justice in order to preserve her own purpose and... I have yet another post to probably make at some point in the future about Shidou and Kotoko parallels. But that's besides the point. Anyways to Shidou Kotoko is the antagonist and is even mentioned in Triage ("To extract that fang, now") and to Kotoko she is the protagonist and a hero saving the weak.

Tragic Hero protagonists usually die, but that depends somewhat on the tastes of each era (they always die in Shakespeare, but ancient protagonists would often suffer a Fate Worse than Death and/or be left to wallow in their pain instead).

Not much to say about this except I believe in the everyone/some people are dead and if it's true this applies. Also, with whatever happens to Kotoko in T3, we could possibly consider this a "left to wallow in their pain" type of deal.

Aristotle only says that seeing a prosperous person fall is a good source of pathos, and that it's more pathetic to see a not-entirely-bad person suffer due to a mistake than to see wholly good people suffer for reasons beyond their control.

Doee this count as "Kotoko is the weak she looks down upon"? She is not pure and is flawed and fell to temptation via her own vengeance and/or a drawing towards violence depending on what you believe about her. She is weak, and she is not a good person suffering for reasons she cannot control; she's a complicated, messy person suffering for her mistakes.
