The moment between Shiv and Logan at the surprise party is so great because you really see how much Logan knows exactly what he’s doing to the kids, and he knows when to do it

The boys were screwing up so he brought Shiv in to be the secret successor and get them on notice. Then when he was done with that he used Rhea to put her back on equal footing with Roman and Kendall

Then, when she’s fully upset at him and could be at risk of walking from him after being frozen out, he tells her he needs her help to get rid of Rhea. And when Shiv points out that some of the reasons he doesn’t like Rhea apply to her too he says “Yeah but you fuckin’ get it” and makes her laugh and it’s done, she’s back in

He knows that he can do anything he wants to Shiv and the only thing he needs to bring her back is to tell her that she’s special, more special than someone else, that they’re in the club together and someone else is outside. He got her to be the secret successor by making her feel more special than the brothers, got her forgiveness at her wedding by showing her that Kendall was more on the out than she was and he needed her against Ken

A lot of times Logan looks like he’s being a dick to be a dick and then you get little moments where you can see he’s working the kids and they don’t realize, and every bad thing he’s done is just part of this plan to set them all against each other for his own gain and if he wants them back he just has to give them five minutes of being the favorite kid and it’s all erased
