Would You Fall in Love with Me Again - but it's Dottore wondering if his lover (sick!reader) would still love him once they woke up from their centuries long coma, he has become far more monstrous than the lonely scholar they once knew

(Also as a firm believer of 'Zandik was framed for Sohreh's death' theory, this hits me harder because in this angle Zandik is pushed towards this direction of self-fulfilling prophecy 😭)

Dottore wonders, if you were awake the whole time, by his side, what would you say? Could you have beared to witness him changing before your very eyes? Sure, he knows full well you've dirtied your hands too back at the Akademiya, but you have not nearly done the same things as he has now. You may not be a good person either, but you have a heart, a warm and gentle one, that soothed him and shaped him - he does not possess something like that. You were the one who taught him love.

And oh, as much as he loves hearing your unique perspective, the scholar wonders if it'll crush him too. What if you are... scared of him? Of the man he's become? Or worse, if you think he'll ever hurt you? He tends not to linger on the subject for too long. As always, he listens to the logical side of himself more often than not - of course you'll still love him - he knows better than anyone you'll understand his intentions. Of course you will, it wasn't like he shied away from telling you his ambitions back at the Akademiya. Of course you will... he's (nearly) positive that your answer will be what he imagines. And yet on nights when his mind is restless he runs through scenarios as to what he'll try to get you to see him in the same light as you once did.

But his worries turn out to be nothing, when you take his hands - the same ones that have committed grave sins - and intertwine them with yours, showing him how the way he holds you hasn't changed. You speak his name - the one no one wants to remember due to his deeds - in the same tone you always have since years ago, with playful yet sincere love. You take off his mask - both literally and figuratively - to see his unchanged red jewels that still hold as much, no, even more love for you than back then. All to say that in reality both of you have waited for each other for an eternity. No matter what punishment or fate may await him at the end of the road, you'll willingly share it with him, refusing to let anything erode your love for him.

The circumstances of Sohreh's death is something I've pondered a lot and if I could change one thing about Fabulam it'd be that part. This is why I love Dottore fans lol I've seen many convincing theories for both sides and it's very interesting to me how we can dig so deep out of only a few lines!

If you ask me, there's probably two scenarios that I'd see happening, seeing as they like to 'humanize' their morally gray characters (and they have already made a sympathetic backstory for him, although most people don't care). Either that he was framed for Sohreh like you said, or he did indeed kill her but not out of malice. Regardless, I feel that there will be more to this story than just a few notes!

Ngl I actually think ‘Would You Fall in Love with Me Again’ is my favorite song in EPIC and I think it’s the best from an Odyssey adaption standpoint. I don’t really care about accuracies or anything like that in the rest of the show, but this song really does give me the vibes of the original OdyPen reunion and I think it was a really good way to do that scene.
