The most fucking annoying thing about all the "conflict of interest" gate is it's going to be F1 Academy and Susie that suffer as a result of it.

They're not going to lobby for Toto to move on and dissociate from Mercedes, they'll want Susie fired, so F1 Academy will lose the person spearheading it, despite her clearly being the best qualified person for the role right now. Just as the series is finally going to get an opportunity to take off, it will lose its rudder and get derailed before its begun.

And even if they DON'T find anything of note, it's Susie's reputation that will end up being tarnished, because its always women that bear the brunt of these things, despite F1 and 'conflict of interest' going hand in hand since records began.

And all this for a tabloid magazine article by someone who not only is banned from the paddock, but has been on the receiving end of numerous libel cases from people inside the paddock.

The FIA are trying to appear like they're being 'fair and thorough and authoritative' but they're not, they're just legitimising the accusations when it's not really their issue to investigate. It's shameful politicking and it's yet another example of the FIAs internalised misogyny. Where was their investigation into the allegations about Mohammed Ben Sulayem? Or is it only when it suits them?

IT'S FINALLY DONE! :D Here's an 8 page comic of one of the very very beginning scenes of The Hollowridge Disaster: the moment Knife and Adri meet Dianne.

Having done this comic means a lot to me for a myriad of reasons, but the main ones are that I really wanted to get better at paneling and do more interesting texture work. And, this is also both a homage to my older HR comics, and my (successful!) attempt at getting back into making comics for this story, so it truly feels like I'm in my prime with it and it's finally somewhere that I am immensely proud of :] so please enjoy this scene in quite literally all it's glory!

Guys when I first took my hedgehog to the vet for his checkup the place was asking for his birthday. And I don't know his exact date of birth and couldn't ask the people I got him from because they'd just retired, so I checked the day I got him and went back how many weeks old I knew he was and picked a random date that week. So that was a long while ago and I just got an email from the vet saying happy birthday to my boy. I did not realize I had set it for today. It is also Sonic the Hedgehog's birthday today.

oh dude, i've had a blurb about something like it in my drafts for forever since someone asked about my hc for the homies (still working on that ask but hopefully gonna post it soon), but Imma answer this one, so in short - yeah! Kinda.

Kim is not really worried per say, after all she is one of prime examples of human in their peak condition (her whole family is kinda like that, good genetics amirite?) and she has some enhanced equipment to aid her, not to mention all the experience to rely on - BUT she is very aware that out of all of them, she can be the most vulnerable, especialy when it comes to taking hits. Unlike Danny, Jake, Jun, Rex, Jenny, and to some degree Ben and Randy, Kim can't get up after an injury as easily (and neither can Zak actually). So she compensates her human vulnerability by being/fighting smarter and quicker and more precise. I mean, with right equipment and strategies she can win in a VS against most of them, so I feel like she is very... Batmany in that sense, lol.

So, because of that, others know that Kim can handle herself just fine whenever they face off someone/thing that could be considered too dangerous to a normal human - mostly because they know that unlike them, she won't throw herself onto the path of danger recklessly.

But there is also this awareness they all have whenever it comes to their entirely too human friends, to protect the ones vulnerable (I mean, almost all of them have human friends who they had to save from trouble, so their spidey sense of 'squishy friend in danger!!!' is very well developed), so it obviously extends to Kim.

Though I prefer to call it 'covering each other's vulnerabilities', than just worry/fretting, - they cover Kim's back, and she is just as diligent in watching theirs. Because sometimes being human is the best defense, and some other times all those heavy hitters need a reminder that just because they can take those hits and limp away barely alive, doesn't mean they have to.

a little spooky story,, from what I experienced with my college besties not too long ago.

we were having fun in some mall in jakarta, it was 23.30 pm, heavily raining, and the mall was closing. My friend drove a car, while me and my other friend just sat there with her lmao. The parking lot was dark already, and the mall was humongous—we kinda lost our way in the parking lot figuring out a way out. We found a strange path that CERTAINLY doesn’t lead to an exit, but it’s more darker and it has a couple cars still parked. strange thing about that path is that there’s like, a circus music? we didn’t know what it was but it specifically came from that pathway in the parking lot

jiang cheng at the club

i answered kind of speedily but hm blorbo should not be at the club

teenage era? the most debatable era tbh. on one hand - for one, if jiang cheng goes, he's going because he thinks that's what the cool kids his age should be doing, rather than because it's what he actually wants to do. for two, if he goes he's certainly going with wei wuxian. there's a good chance he'll have a good time with wei wuxian, but there's also a good chance that he'll spend the entire experience way too high-strung about wei wuxian doing something stupid (guaranteed) that will make both him and yunmeng jiang look stupid (not guaranteed but still likely) and/or put wei wuxian in danger (also very likely). there's also an even higher chance that wei wuxian will end up fucking off to chat/flirt/etc with other people (eg. lan wangji who wei wuxian also managed to drag to the club, who then gets drunk and thus wei wuxian now has to babysit), thereby leaving jiang cheng all by his lonesome. jiang cheng can probably talk to strangers, but he came here to have fun with wei wuxian and now wei wuxian has ding dong ditched. bonus points if wei wuxian promised to be designated driver and now jiang cheng has to uber home.

on the other hand - teenage wei wuxian and jiang cheng are definitely making the club more fun. mostly wei wuxian. and, despite all of the above, jiang cheng is probably having a good time...most of the time...too.

adult era: nah. jiang cheng is busy. it would be nice if he could let loose and forget about everything for a few hours, but he would not do that. realistically he'd just spend the entire time stressing about his growing to-do list, and the music would give him a headache.

also, everything at the club would remind him of wei wuxian. wei wuxian, certified party animal, was almost certainly the one dragging jiang cheng to the club in their youth; jiang cheng probably does in fact have some happy memories of clubbing with wei wuxian. but those happy memories are gonna curdle into depressing ones the moment he steps through the doors and is reminded of wei wuxian again. the photos of wei wuxian doing a keg stand behind the bar are making him miserable, and he in turn is going to make it everyone else's problem.

postcanon era: also nah. mostly because he'd almost certainly run into jin ling et al. sneaking into the club with fake IDs, and now everyone's yelling.

on the other hand....maybe he and wei wuxian can eventually reconcile over a night of partying they're both frankly way too old for. or maybe when they wake up the next day in the same ditch with matching hangovers.

just thinking about the recent stories from the latest update with rafayel going to raymond's funeral, how talia was singing not to raymond and how rafayel positioned the specific flowers (gardenias) towards the lemurian skeleton and not raymond. then thinking back to how raymond was so fascinated by the painting that rafayel made and how thomas had to beg rafayel to allow raymond to buy it. and it makes me wonder, had he obtain the painting after the lemurian skeleton? my silly little thoughts want to say something along the lines of...

raymond had obtained the lemurian skeleton long before the painting that rafayel made. and perhaps something about the lemurian skeleton could have been what had kept him alive. we know that lemurian's blood can resurrect or make one live forever. maybe raymond found that out and that's why he was able to live so long. rafayel could've easily figured out what raymon had done or was doing, hence his intention of creating a piece that raymond would have to get his hands on unbeknownst the danger that lies ahead.

honestly thinking more about it, there was that part in rafayel's myth that 'once you tame a lemurian, they cannot go against your words', so what if that's exactly what raymond had done? tamed a lemurian and demanded everything in their arsenal, to live forever but some mishap happened, and by preserving the skeleton, he was able to continue living, though perhaps his days had been numbered.

after rafayel told talia that raymond was dead, she said "then we can all get a good night's sleep for now" ... clearly showing there is something more that is brewing even after raymond's death. which also reminds me how he had a team that he wanted zayne to join in terms of research, or that's legit what i got from ch2 when raymond talked about xander sciences.

call me silly, but it feels as though this might have something to do with lemurians, their blood and maybe even their practices.
