#Kero passed last fall at 15 years old and last week someone asked if I wanted this year-old beast of a puppy #gotta say the training choices his first owners made are deeply baffling #gentlest dog in the world but he growls and makes an aborted hop at new people #which is understandably terrifying #gonna sit somewhere public and try to get brave people to hand him jerky treats to try and put a stop to that #did it with my neighbor and within 30 seconds he was nuzzling into her hands for ear scritches

I wish my brain would let me play video games again without a care

Now I'm like "no I can't bc I'm wasting my precious free time. I can't reason using my day off to play video games when I could be using that time to do literally anything else" like fucking come on

#today is essentially my first day driving combine this year since my 'first day' was only like an hour and a half long almost two weeks ago #but of course my first day we're harvesting the field that was the last one we did last year 'care free'#one year ago today was the last time i saw my sister #and tomorrow will be one year since we harvested this field and afterwards we went home for dinner #and while refueling equipment after dinner my brother in law went to see if my sister felt up to running grain cart for us that evening #and he found out she wasnt home and nobody had heard from her all day #so that was the evening of the 16th and we didnt find her until the morning of the 18th #it was probably somewhere around noon on the 16th when she killed herself #and it just wrecks me cause i can remember exactly what i was doing that whole day #like someone here sent me an ask about whumpy music so i spent hours that day compiling a playlist to share here #and i was talking with a friend (in a group chat that consisited of me my sister and our friend) about their zucchini harvest #and another discord server i was gushing about it being the new moon in a Blue Moon month plus the persied meteor shower #and the whole time i had no idea my world had already shattered without me knowing #it makes me hate this field and i hate that even with the way we rotate crops every year it still came up ready this week #probably would've been worse if it came up on the 16th again but it's not much better being on the 15th

#this made me emotional #i remember two years ago so much #anxiously i followed the news two years ago #hoping for ukraine the war would not start #and i remember zes video #president tut #i think it was probably the first thing i really saw of him #besides some snippets in news and on social media and stuff #and i was so deeply impressed by that president who had the balls to stay and fight russia #im still deeply impressed #think about ze and his actions and words and so on whatever you want #agree with him or not #but we all can probably agree that Volodymyr zelenskyy is not only one of the bravest but also one of the best human beings on this world #and he deserves all the respect for what hes doing for two years #he worked every day. every freaking day he works as hard as possible to save his country and his people #sacrificing a lot and the ultimate thing - his family #he could have chosen the easy road and could now sit somewhere in Poland or the us or somewhere else #but he was courageous and stayed and said fuck you russia #and to this very way this bravery moves me and impresses me

have we talked yet about the possibility that UFOs and every suspected bit of extraterrestrial evidence could actually be originating from the advanced civilizations living in the trenches of the ocean just as bemused and wondering as we are about the world beyond them and reaching out in exploration? because given the fuckoff incomprehensible expanse of ocean floor we've yet to actually study or even really guess at what specifically is down there, I think there's a real possibility there's a complex society of, idk, particularly clever sea slugs and other amalgamations of physical matter like hydrogen and thulium and other shit we've never considered as a viable fundamental building block of life. and the fucking whales are the only living creature with the kind of planet spanning range and intelligence to know there's two complex evolutions of sentient life existing on opposite spheres of reality from each other who would really benefit from learning about the other, but we're both too fucking stupid to understand how whales communicate

Things I learned today: it is, apparently, uncommon for children to have photo IDs *hides my childhood photo ID*

#In my circles having an ID or passport was a necessity #Like everyone had them #We didn't necessarily carry them with us unless we were going somewhere (crossing any border)#But we had them at home #And everyone else did too #I didn't realise this was not common until.. Well... Today #It was also a huge shock to me when I found out a few years ago that having a passport is not common in many countries.#For us having a passport was way more important than having an ID #Theres always something new to elearn about the world....#damie talks

#you know i think one of the best parts of vacation for me was the shared bittersweetness of saying goodbye.#like i knew going in that i wouldn't want to leave lmao but to have my friend express over and over that we could just runaway together #was oddly affirming. i feel like she's so established in her career and I'm not so to have her also want to leave everything #made me feel less foolish for wanting the same. i always wonder if there's something wrong with me for how deeply i want to extend my trips #it's just nice to be reminded that it's just the human condition. it just made me really want to rearrange my life so i can travel more #or. move. i want the ocean more than once every few years. i want change. i want to uproot myself and grow somewhere new.#personal #i just really need to live in a world where i can either travel multiple times a year or live somewhere i don't want to escape from
