#limon talks#nah im not saying im being misgendered#im assuming either its a bug or just written that way as a catch all#so far first impressions about 10 minutes in: funnily edgy#ik ppl want more serious plots but seeing characters threaten lives with pokemon kinda veers into dorkly territory. sorry.#also the prologue with the zorua and the pangoro just kinda screams 'cry over how angsty and tragic this is'#i guess the context of it being a bedtime story creates some dissonance#like bedtime stories are written as simple morals to read to children#didnt really get a moral out of it beyond maybe 'don't play *mean* pranks on your friends'#and ostensibly the point is to draw a clear parallel between maria and her family and pangoro and zorua#and not to make sense as a bedtime story first#but idk maybe the story could've been introduced in a different manner then#like at her school or smth#and then she comes home and gets sacrificed#dunno how id go about making pokemon convincingly intimidating#inherent limitation of the format i guess#then again gothitelle is not a strong start in terms of scary pokemon#its a little too goofy looking#maybe an alakazam? not very original but i think its a little less goofy

The way you draw V1 's neck makes me imagine them bonking their head against things the way birds peck at seeds
YEA i imagine v1 moves very much like a bird and has a bunch of bird-like mannerisms on top of that! its head flicks around quickly and it bobs very similarly as its gyro attempts to keep its sight-line level (which is basically exactly what's going on with birds!) when observing something, i think of it as a combination of a bird and cat, its head making dozens of tiny movements while its neck pulls in and out to gather information from all angles. really i model its entire posture and behavior on velociraptors, and i wish i could animate so i could better show all this!! but just know its mannerisms are like 70% bird/raptor, 20% bug, and 10% cat. best way i can describe it!!
