I keep seeing stuff in the AA fandom talking about how like, some takes are surface level and I do just want to say that while deep interesting analytical takes are excellent and I enjoy them greatly and love applying interesting frameworks to my silly lawyer game. I think the basic takes are also good and ok too. I think presuming every single post an from AA fan on tumblr dot com has to have an academic level of analysis because the text can absolutely facilitate that is maybe a little extreme.

Like media analysis has frameworks and lenses that you can switch out and apply to get new and interesting results and it's ok if that's something you don't always have on when posting because if you do default to one frame work always, you risk missing all the interesting stuff you can get from the other frameworks. But that means you have to be consciously applying them, so its ok if sometimes you also are not doing that. Having the ability to do that is a valuable skill that will enrich your life and media consumption but also its ok if sometimes you just want to not think that deep for a post and say something surface level. Just because you do one doesn't mean you aren't capable of doing the other. This isn't an academic setting, sometimes a post can just be a thought you have.

I want the more academic stuff, fuck I was just looking at a thing talking about hegalian dialectics in AA, a thing I've been internally screaming about the existence of but feel woefully under qualified to discuss so hadn't and I'm so glad to see someone more knowledge than me put words to it. But I think we shouldn't expect it of everyone.

Plus while complex media analysis is wonderful and I eat it up, it's not something everyone is trained in to the extent others are. I like to think I'm better at it that a lot of people I know irl and have had a decent amount of study into it but don't forget that this is something people can and do dedicate their lives to and not everyone in fandom is going to be one of those people.

Idk I just think it's unfair to expect everyone in fandom to have every post have an academic level of rigour. If someone just wants to say "Hey so those von karma siblings, pretty fucked up what happened to them huh," then I think that's OK too. It's different if they're actively misinterpreting the text by leaving shit out (eg ignoring the themes of AA4 to think Phoenix is genuinely uncaring) but I just think it's ok if a post isn't that deep. People are doing this for fun and we can't expect everyone to be functioning at max brain power for every damn post.

Stuff gets popular randomly. One of my most popular posts was a shitpost scene I wrote at like 3am because I thought it was funny. Some of my posts I put a ton of thought and effort and analysis into get no traction. It just depends on random factors like timing or which mutuals find it good enough to reblog. this was a much larger problem after they split up and fire was gone. she wanted to protect rivers from flowers, who was repeatedly expressing reluctance to go with him, but she was afraid of flowers retorting by demanding full custody. i think ive said this before but i dont think flowers even particularly wanted rivers around. it was more something he could hold over her head, something he knew she felt threatened by and couldnt do anything about. i cant help but wonder if he gained some satisfaction in knowing that descent could tell rivers was being abused but couldnt safely stop it. see this is what i meant earlier when i was saying that he gets worse every time i write for him its so grRRRRRRRR

anyways FIRE. fire. yeah i think fire expressed missing his mom pretty often when he first got to the divide. dune felt threatened by this and wanted to assure that fire wouldnt go back to his family. how else to achieve this but to alienate fire from his family? on a surface level her logic is almost understandable; if your mother was concerned with the abuse in her home why did she never take you guys away? kids arent stupid but they are very impressionable. i dont think at the equivalent age of an 11 year old (fucking Yikes btw) that fire would have fully understood the power dynamics at play in his family. dune knew flowers was high council. she knew, at least to some extent, that the situation would have been very difficult for descent to navigate, but it suited her narrative better if she left those nuances out and instead made fire's mother out to be uncaring and inactive

i think dune did a lot of listening to fire at first, rather than guiding things. she wanted to understand the dynamics at play here before she began twisting the narrative, and she also wanted to give fire the impression that she was somebody safe to come to with his problems and feelings. the more she learned, the safer she felt twisting things

senescence among dokkalfar:

dokkalfar are considered biologically immortal, since their aging process is extremely slowed and they can resist many of the effects of senescence (aging). the way they are able to do this is their cells are basically immortal cell lines that are constantly replenishing and dividing, in fact the cells a dokkalfar was born with, could, theoretically, be the same family/line of cells they have throughout their entire life. their cells basically act like cancer cells, except without the you know, downsides of cancer lmfao.

another way they resist the march of time is by having a variety of stem cells that are locked and loaded to start producing a specific set of instructions once the body gives the green light, usually when there is ANY form of cell damage at all -- from oxidation related damage, to traumatic injury.

this is how they are able to regenerate basically any limb or organ (so long as they have some form of brain activity to facilitate that, so the only thing they cant feasibly regenerate is their entire head and/or brain stem) think of them similar to a hydra (as in the actual animal, though the mythological hydra would not be far off in metaphor too). the fact they are able to do with as complex, relatively large, multicelluar organisms is nothing sort of impressive, as this sort of resistence to aging and injury is often only found among simplistic organisms, like jellyfish or the microscopic hydra.

however, they are not *true* immortals, there are plenty of other ways to die in the world. they can go hungry, they can dehydrate, they can run out oxygen (though they are most resistant to low oxygen environments), they can get sick, they can be eaten, they can be mortally injured beyond any hope of regeneration.

the dokkalfar are known to live fast and hard, despite their ability to live a long time. they are considered war-like and compared to a swarm by other species for a reason. theres a reason their government and culture is often very chaotic and constantly changing. theres a reason that despite their biologically immortality, regular production of new broods is important.

the average life span for a dokkalfar is about 600 to 700 years, which is still very impressive life span, but actually quite a low life span for a creature that can theoretically life forever if they have sufficient resources. thats like, the equivalent of dying when youre 40, basically still in the prime of your life. a dokkalfar living to be 1000+ years plus is considered to be 'old age' among the dokkalfar, even if said dokkalfar hardly is showing any signs of physical aging.

so, this is basically to say: dokkalfar dont die of old age, they die violently. so even if there is a limit to their life span, we don’t know it.

inter-species breeding:

when it comes to breeding amongst other humanoid species, dokkalfar show an ability to be able to mix their genome with others. it might be purely a biological benefit, or it could be a magical benefit, or a mix of both, but dokkalfar arent going to tell. this ability is important for maintaining a large gene pool, despite their very seclusive and isolated lifestyles. their ability to carry sperm cells in a spermatheca is useful for more than just allowing a dokkalfar to have children at will. its assumed they use this specialized organ to 'transform' the sperm cells of other humanoid species into something that is more biologically compatible with their ovum.

for this reason, most half-dokkalfar, half something else brood come out with dokkalfar dominant genes -- however they do display traits of their 'father' species. they dont seem capable of breeding with other species the other way around (doesnt stop them from trying), if their sperm cells are incompatible with another species, theres not much to be done; unless the other species also has some other genome-splitting reproductive ability. or it is utterly magically induced.

wing injuries:

depends on the severity of it. the matrix of muscle tissue, chitin, and blood vessels present all throughout the wing and the muscles that attach the wings to the back are very complex. the wings are attached to the dokkalfar's back by strong muscle groups that lead into the lower back and into the shoulders, connected by the chitin elytra that protects their wings.

a tearing of the elytrum themselves, the hard chitin casing, would be far more severe than a tearing of the wing membranes themselves. dokkalfar injure their wing membranes all the time, as the gossamer they are made from is just very fragile, and so having a few tears, or even having big portions of the wing torn away, while inconvenient, are not usually life threatening in and of itself. however, it will hinder the dokkalfar's ability to fly, of course. it would be like healing a surface wound. now...if youre talking about a *complete* removal of the wings, including the membrane, the elyrum and the muscles attaching them to the back, that could be very life threatening.

it would result in major blood loss, be extremely painful, and likely cause the dokkalfar to go into shock. if they still managed to survive this, they could create a cocoon and try to regenerate their wings. however, it would be an absurdly energy intensive endeavor, akin to a dokkalfar having to regenerate multiple limbs or organs. they often do not survive the process of healing even if they do make it into a cocoon, even if they have another dokkalfar help them create it, though that will increase the chances of survival. so yes, tearing off a dokkalfar's wings, while very difficult to do, would be very dangerous to them.

part of the importance of representation is not just to make people feel good that they get to see themselves respectfully represented in something, but to have an accurate, realistic perspective. the degree to which people speak with authority on subjects they clearly have zero knowledge or even an inkling of the real world application or processes is astounding. the particular post i had in mind had someone declaring that gamergate was some kind of concentrated psyop at its inception for the explicit purpose of rallying white men toward fascism rather than just the natural sequence of events stemming from the (sub)culture that made such festering resentment possible (or examining who fascism is meant to serve). these things easily feed into one another (as white supremacy favors terf-ism and is inextricable from it) but to suggest these “movements” were deliberately enacted by some secret group with nefarious intentions is naive and conspiratorial. and since the person i was speaking to was also a refugee of mid 00s 4chan, we had a good laugh about it, having been there and watched the evolution (mutation?) happen in real time, and are intimately familiar with the foundations that excused the behavior that led to gamergate.

it’s the way people say “go to therapy” as dismissive shorthand but have zero concept of the actual execution of what therapy is, how it works, how long it takes, how to access it, or any of the other steps and barriers and qualities of therapy that even makes it effective. occasionally you press someone on this—what they think happens at therapy—and it’s generally someone who has never been (and feels they have no reason to go) and believes it’s “talking about your feelings”. or they propose the mental equivalent of giving the crt tv a good smack to get a clearer picture, but it’s a therapist with a verbal wrench. and then theres the wither, an optional miniboss thats a bit harder to fight than the ender dragon, but drops the main crafting ingredient for beacons, aka blocks you can use to create an area of effect buff

now these two items arent exactly necessities. for elytra, you can just walk [and, impo, i prefer this over flying over everything because you at least have the chance of finding something cool that you otherwise mightve missed]. and for beacons, lets be real, the only real use these things have is quarries and Maybe a flex to show just how many you can get. for… some reason. but theyre still worth killing their respective bosses to get

the warden, on the other hand, does nothing. all it drops is a single sculk catalyst that, in the newest update, has since been Significantly nerfed from dropping [i believe] 40 exp to 5. 5

really the only point of the warden now is, as its been put, an ambience mob. it spawns in, acts intimidating, but all you really have to do is bring in a bit of wool or an elytra to dip as soon as it spawns

and you would think that mojang “we removed fireflies because they had no purpose” studios would realize this and do something about it, but as of now, nope. and you would think for how long theyve been babying and hyping up the deep dark + warden they would try to actually make it worth going down there, but the only things one would even consider going down there to get is a compass thats virtually worthless for what it is, and a disc.

not even a music disc that you can play in the background- no, its a story disc, which [no hate to the person who made it] is literally just a sound design test. its the equivalent to playing 11 for fun. not to mention you dont even get the full disc, you have to find fragments to craft it

for how much effort they put into making the warden unkillable, i really dont think they put any of those skill points into giving players a reason to even be near it so it can show off all of its ‘unkillable’ glory. also i find it hilariously embarrassing that like 2 seconds after full release people already found a way to farm it. also it can literally be killed with a fishing rod. so

my point is, give the warden an actual purpose jesus christ. un-nerf the catalyst. make it drop something that gives you a buff when under sea level like a backwards conduit. give it a boss fight arena and something it unlocks after you kill it like the ender dragon. do something with the frame like, i dont know, make it a portal like everyone was expecting

(i am also open to maid of space tubbo, and many others, but i am currently seer leaning)

*wakes up* oh boy time to classpect! under the readmore because seers are interesting enough that i ended up going on a tangent

of course no argument about the aspect because hes 100% a space player, ive discussed heir before i believe, so seer analysis it is, because i havent thought about it before (seers slip my mind sometimes, i love them, my brain is just the equivalent of a ground with a bunch of banana peels and cant handle having more than 4 coherent thoughts at a time).

like said with knights, he doesnt exactly try to tell anyone what he wants to come off as, sure he wants to be intimidating enough that people leave him alone, but, well. he does fit the intimidating thing, its less a facade and more a warning, he doesnt want to hurt anyone, but he will should he deem it necessary (thankfully, tubbos kind enough that he deems it unecessary in most cases). hes a bit too likely to follow through, and its bred from feeling unsafe, rather than feeling insecure. c!tubbo knows he can do things, the cc is more likely to downplay what he does than the character is (not that c!tubbo doesnt, but he does still believe in his abilities, he just doesnt think hes important enough to emphasize his impact. difference between going "oh no it was all __" and going "oh no it wasnt just me" when theres something hes done most of the work on)

so, he almost fits knight, at least in abilities, after all knights are capable and they know theyre capable, and hes very good at the exploitation aspect, pushing limitations and using them for their benefits. i could see him as maybe a knight thats actually gotten past the insecurity and facades already, if we're to consider his spy history as him being pre-actualization. being a space player doesnt really change how solid knight arcs are, so the combination of knight and space doesnt make knight much more fitting for tubbo

similarly, he does fit a few aspects of being a seer (having similar struggles, talking a shitton sometimes, sitting back and observing the world around him when he finds it beneficial to do so, generally very smart especially within their group), but not so much others (seers are often overbearingly smug in a way tubbos a bit too humble for, learning through education rather than experience, having a habit of getting too focused on their goal, and theyre overall passive, being too active is actually how they get themselves into shit, while tubbo gets hurt when hes too passive). seers of space focus more on the present than the future or past, which almost fits tubbo.. if it werent for the fact that he doesnt focus on the future or past out of repression cknsks. not that he would much anyways, but the intentional focus on the present is out of stubborness and trauma rather an actual trait of staying in the present. notably, theres quite a few times where tubbo does think about the past and future, especially when he was younger, and he does try to work towards his ideal future, he just doesnt talk about it much.

funnily enough, because of where seer falls through, he ends up being closer to the mage struggle of, well, getting their asses kicked when theyre too passive because things work out best when theyre involving themselves. mages also have that posturing thing as well, though its connected to intelligence (desperately trying to come off as smarter because they believe theyre still too dumb and naïve, even though theyre actually doing fine), so again, not exactly tubbos kind of posturing. plus, hes pissy, but not pissy enough for a mage, as theyre more likely to get caught up in how fed up they are with everything, while tubbo gets caught up in how much he still cares no matter how much he seems like he doesnt. the space aspect adds that theres.. a shitton of shit happening to and around him, which does fit, at least, and mages of space usually suffer because of their passions, knowledge, and experience, as well as they're rather hands on. again, fits, but, well.

seers and mages are a bit too focused on knowledge for the kind of person tubbo is. hes smart for sure, has a lot of knowledge, and even when hes not a spy he does want to know things and looks for that knowledge, but while he fits the goals and positives of seers (and mages), he doesnt exactly fit their flaws or what happens when theyre unhealthy. not that he needs to show signs of being unhealthy, but even healthy players still show an ability to be the unhealthy versions of their classes. he doesnt get his ass kicked for being too active and tunnel visioned like seers do (and it can sometimes come from ego trips, which tubbos very unlikely to have, even if he fits the "my solution is the most correct here, so we have to follow it" part of it all) like seers, he doesnt have any moments of just refusing to learn and complaining about how everything sucks rather than doing anything about it (nor is he likely too) like mages. he does vaguely fit where the unhealthiness of a knight can come in, propping up a shield to a ridiculous extent and lashing out when their insecurites are picked at, but that feels a bit too reckless to be tubbo (though it does fit tommy).

overall, i can kind of see seer for a slightly different version of tubbo, but it feels too passive for tubbo, if that makes sense. he is passive at least, in terms of classes anyways (note- despite how some classpectors define it, passive doesnt really mean you serve others, its not an insult, it just means you weave your aspect through others, rather than yourself. its the difference between a prince destroying x/destroying through x and a bard allowing destruction of x/inviting destruction through x. still listen to passive classes, thats what seers fall into after all, and seers are very important). its just that tubbo usually gets hurt by being too passive rather than getting hurt by being too active (not that it couldnt happen, which is why i say it could still fit under other circumstances).

speaking of passive v active, if i had to pick a passive class i feel fits tubbo the most, probably heir. active wise, id say maid does actually fit rather well. i feel like ive talked about maid tubbo before but i might be remembering a different analysis so just in case ill generally say i feel he fits the arc of going from a "doormat" to taking their life for themselves. theyre stubborn, stressed out from listening to others, like banter, occassionally silly and can start arguing in circles due to the stubborness (think that one patrick id scene, but smarter). maids are also heavy repressers, they fear being seen as weak, and are unwilling to ask for help. they rely on their environment and hate it.

and, painfully enough, some classpectors state that when pushed into being unhealthy, maids explode. maids are already intimidating on their own, being powerful and smart enough to know what to do with that power, and when they get stressed out enough, they, well, explode. they hurt everyone in one big event (think aradias actions in make her pay). its not necessarily a reckless lashing out at everyone like knights, but a giant burnout that happens to effect everyone. tubbos not at a point where it seems likely for this to happen, but i wouldnt be too surprised if something like it did happen were things to get too be too much. he is the mf with nukes after all. healthy maids are independent, with maids of space specifically, well, making space for themselves and others (sound like a certain snow commune anyone), attempting to start new lives. an independent maid, allowed to be their own person without anyone stepping on them, is a healthy maid. unfortunate for tubbo that his life fucking sucks too hard for him to really get to this point KEKW

heirs fit a similar "followed others then became more independent" arc, mostly unaware that theyre being lead around but, if whats happening aligns with their own ideals, dont really care much that theyre being a follower when they are aware of such. heirs have an instinct to stick to comfort, rather than an instinct to be independent like maids. heirs still need to find their independence and autonomy, but need to do so because they can change things, theyre also very powerful when they play correctly. however, going against what they may feel is best and is more comfortable for them can be actively painful, early heirs often would rather be comfortable and happy even if things arent going well than take the difficult route, know that theyll suffer, and temporarily risk comfort and happiness in an attempt to reach an end they dont know will be there for sure. they can deal with suffering, but choosing to stay constantly aware of this suffering hurts and they struggle with dealing with the fact that they need to be aware to stop the suffering.

heirs change by picking up on subtle details naturally, subconsciously effecting those around them, making either themself or others interact with their aspect differently (or actively not think with their own aspect, in a positive way). heirs, when self aware, want to help. thats an important detail, and its why heirs are often protagonists, they dont have the ambition to do things that only benefit themselves when they realize theyre in a position of power. at their core, heirs usually want to make things better, but learning to move on and better themselves can hurt, and it takes a lot for heirs to to let it be apart of the process.

unhealthy heirs fade. they get so stressed out by getting hurt that they shrink back into themselves, they stick with what makes them comfortable and refuse to acknowledge that they and others are hurting, wrapped up in their more selfish instincts and becoming hard and stressful to deal with. "i want everything to be okay" becomes "i dont want to deal with the idea that nothings okay right now", soon getting to "im okay and you cant tell me otherwise, fuck you if you want to take this away from me, you cant stop me but i will stop you". of course, that last one can be useful if a heir were to use it to change things for the better, but the tunnel vision on "i want to be comfortable even if im making others uncomfortable" is, well. shitty. unhealthy heirs wont actively try to hurt anyone unless pushed, but they can they can still manage to through a lack of acknowledging that they have to help. and well, that sounds somewhat like tubbo, the hurting through a lack of helping, at the very least its present in things like him not visiting tommy during exile (partially because it was safer to just not challenge dream, partially out of guilt and belief that tommy hated him)

heirs of space specifically are about flitting from project to project, learning about what interests them, impatient when others dont share their excitement, and learning when to adapt and move on from things. generally, if i had to put a scale on it, id say tubbos most likely to be a heir, then a maid, then a seer. it all depends on what aspects of him you wanna focus on, really. seer tubbo is really interesting though! i think seers are more smug than he is though, not that he doesnt have his moments, but his tendency to believe hes right isnt all too prominent compared to other traits of his, and its less from a smug "i know whats right" and more just a firm "this isnt right, i have a better idea". he wants to do whats right, but if he feels like he doesnt know whats right, hes willing to rely on others, it just.. takes him a bit of pushing to admit such

I find it very interesting how y'all keep reducing peoples problem with the tiktokfication of publishing to people complaining about 1) bad quality novels that have always existed, 2) people being too online, or 3) literally just exaggeration.

First of all, most of the people I see acknowledging this issue have been, overwhelming, authors of color who are seeing how this platform is further exacerbating the constant elevation of the mediocrity of white creators who are not JUST bad writers but writers who are literally having their hands held to even create something in the first place. And not only that, but having to see these very people talk about it like its something to be proud of; to flaunt this kind of mediocrity. That's incredibly frustrating and infuriating as a creator of color to see this be blatantly thrown in your face when publishing will give any excuse except a blatantly racist one to reject you now a days. So, I think that's a pretty fucking legitimate concern to be expressing ones opinion about.

Secondly, some people talking about this arent even ON tik tok (myself included) but can literally see the effect this is having on the books they're being advertised or recommended, especially even the FURTHER deterioration of the writing and especially ideas, that is going into these things. Even people like me, who've been avid readers of the genres the tiktokification is centralized around, specifically romance heavy genres, can see there is ABSOLUTELY a difference in how these things are being written. Yes, romance shlock is a tried and true market, but I could at least read schlock that was legitimately entertaining and respected me as a reader who's a grown fucking person. Shlock that at least had out of the box ideas no matter how batshit despite failure in execution but exhibited a sense of SOME kind of writing experience or consideration for writing as a craft behind it, instead of like 4 fan fiction tropes taped and held together by writing equivalent to 3 pieces of chewed up gum and absolutely bizare sense of infantilism towards its readers.

My biggest work yet. The TFS Namekian jokes made me curious. Slugs have mates & reproduce. In fact, they have both genitalia.....I am not going KunoSuba with this WhatIf. Don't worry.

The arc's called Namek Prime(takes place before Gohan VS Sym). Namek was once a thriving race, males & females. Two of them, Mahan & Nirvana, obtained the highest Namekian form, Outré Oni, after fusing while in the Blue-Eyed Namekian Form(I am not making that up. In DBHeroes, thats the Namekians' SSJB equivalent) & remembering the experience(kinda like how Goku gained access to God Ki by absorbing SSJGod). That fusion is temporary, if they stay in it too long, they wouldve turned into something monstrous. They became leaders of their race due to that & decided to conquer. The old Namekian race bumped into U7's previous G.o.D & Angel at one point. They killed that G.o.D and injured the Angel, which other Namekians witnessed. The Grand Priest was pissed, the two tried fighting him, Mahan died, Nirvana was sealed & the Namekian race was punished, separating the males & females. 

The males became the Namekians we all know. The females were at a far off part of the galaxy where NO ONE goes. Not Frieza & his forces, not the Saiyans, not even Beerus & Whis go there. Their planet, Kagyu(some Namekian names are from snails too, so I'll stick with that name), similar, but heat becomes a problem at times because its closer to a sun than Namek, but they adapted. Through the years, both sides stuck with laying eggs for reproduction. That doesnt mean the natural way is gone. Its just forgotten on the male side. The female Namekians are similar to Amazons of greek myth. Combat is a bigger part of their culture than the males. Back to reproduction, they have a benefit when it comes to hatchlings that males dont. If they fuse with someone of a different race, one hatchling gets a trait from it, and be powerful hybrids. Their hatchlings are always female. The fusion's temporary there too, since its not a Namekian they fuse with. There's also the natural way that can result in hybrids. If you know how Amazons of myth had kids, the female Namekians do that if outsiders try to conquer their planet. Whether the partner's willing or not. *Insert your own snu-snu jokes here.*

Female Namekians' appearances arent all that different. Skin is still green(but a few shades down the color wheel, close to blue, but not that), still have antennae, blood is still purple, they still survive off water, but have peach patches instead of pink, orange rings instead of red, and tend to have markings & spots.

The female Namekians have clans too, but slightly different. And they dont have their own set of dragon balls. But they can do something similar, but only the strongest of their Dragon Clan. 

Stories of Namek Prime passed on female Namekians from females that remember it through for centuries. But on the male side, stories of those days are forgotten because male Namekians that did remember, are all dead. Not only due to time, but because of Namek's Climate Shift. So, Guru wouldve remembered those old times, but he's dead. Lord Slug wouldve remembered too, he's also dead. Kami(and King Piccolo) never wouldve known because he was sent to Earth.

Nirvana's seal broke when Gogeta & Broly broke reality for a brief moment. The fallen Queen, who never aged due to being sealed, aims to get revenge, reunite Namek, and conquer the multiverse. But first she plans to ascend higher by fusing with another male Namekian, but not any random one. She kidnaps Dende, Guru's hatchling and he's a Guardian of Earth(if anything, it'd be possible for him to learn God Ki). Planning to fuse with him permanently. She learned of Guru & Lord Slug, but again, they're dead. And to avoid Outré Oni's side-effect, she absorbs the essence of the strongest female Namekian of their Dragon Clan, through a sacrifice. 

Piccolo, with help from Fat Buu, Goten & Trunks, go to save him, and they have a week to get to planet Kagyu. Ōsei(her name comes from part of the Spanish Slug's actual term in Japanese), Nirvana & Mahan's descendant, helps also, refusing to follow in her footsteps. On the way she helps Piccolo gain the Red & Blue-Eyed forms, thanks to a technique that puts them in a pocket dimension similar to the Time Chamber, but two people being there means it lasts only in bursts. So, a day in there is 6 months, and Ōsei would need 12 hours to recover before using it again. Piccolo's training involved fighting King Piccolo, and he & Ōsei knowing more about each other through reading their minds.

Outré Oni rivals Ultra Instinct(and Gohan's Ultra Heikou). Ōsei gets the form too, but Piccolo had to be at the wheel for fighting Nirvana, due to his fighting experience. The transformation itself has purple markings, different green toned skin, horns, and most notably the Oni kanji.

Piccolo(& Ōsei's) chakra is Sahasrara, the highest of the chakras. Piccolo gets tons of new techniques, Limbo Bomb, Divine Beam Blast, Melting Attack(Burning Attack had to have came from Piccolo), Omni Masenko, and Solar Grenade.

hey so I agree with a lot of the stuff in your post about the transphobia involved in the origin of the pansexual label, but I just have one question: what are the actual impacts of people with good intentions calling themselves pan? If you don't hate pansexuals and consider them bi, why type up a paragraphs long manifesto on the harms of the origin of the label if it means the same thing in the way that most non transphobic people (your audience) use it? a lot of identities can be used in transphobic ways (like bi and lesbian and anything really) and plenty of valid identities from problematic roots and evolve over time as people use them differently (queer, transsexual). so how is a person with good intentions using a not-perfect label in a way you don't like a threat to the community? if someone is using the label pan transphobically, wouldn't their bigotry exist independently? if pan people do not act in transphobic ways besides using the label pansexual, realistically what is changing if they call themselves bi beyond holier-than-thou aesthetic activism? plus, a blog on the internet isn't going to get everyone to stop identifying as pansexual, especially considering multiple prominent celebrities ID as pan. so why spend all that energy quibbling on semantics because some bi people use a slightly different word when you could be worrying about Literally anything else? just feels like you want to find something to argue about lol. extremely disappointed that I had to break a mutual

im going to respond to each thing you bring up chronologically- im not trying to nitpick or prioritize certain things you say ill just forget things if i go out of order and i dont want to miss something important. in terms of actual impact people with good intentions identifying as pan: honestly im not  sure the full scope of the impact this has, so ill only be speaking to what ive personally seen which might not be all. but like... id argue my younger self has good intentionals iding as pan. i wanted to support trans people, even if i didnt understand a lot of the nuance involved. as a result of this, i developed a sense of superiority over other bisexuals and a mentality that bisexuality was a primitive and lesser sexuality. that mentality is harmful, and although im not sure if it affected bisexuals around me (of which there are many most of my friends are bi ajfjfjf) its still a harmful mentality and can easily hurt people even if i specifically didnt. also using it even with good intentions, which i know many people have, still spreads and further normalizes a label that imo can not be separated from its transphobic origins. this effect is not as extreme as other forms of transphobia and biphobia by A LONG SHOT. the bi community faces a lot of other issues but that doesnt mean this one isnt worth addressing if that makes sense?

if i dont hate pansexuals: ik this is part of a larger point which i will adress but i specified this in my post bc i see a lot of other posts that are negative towards pansexuality have "i hate pan ppl" somewhere in it or a close equivalent. i do not shame these ppl for their anger, i just wanted to be clear i think a lot of pan ppl are bi ppl with good intentions choosing a label they dont fully understand based on a misunderstanding of bisexuality.

basically i think iding with a transphobic label is inherently a singular transphobic action that doesnt make the person transphobic by itself, but is still a transphobic instance.

a lot of identities can be used in transphobic ways like bi, lesbian, etc.: this is true and a point i attempted to make on my original post, but i might not have clear enough. my issue with pan is specifically that it is a transphobic response to a preexisting identity. lesbian isnt an attempted trans inclusive indentity that replaced an identity that already existed (which have many trans ppl identifying with the og label). transphobes can use whatever labels they want, but transphobes using a label vs a label having a transphobic origin is very different. bigots use inclusive and supporting language for their bigotry all the time but language that originated with that bigotry is worse.

many valid identities stem from problemstic origins (like transsexual and queer) but the words evolve: ok my paraphrasing is a little weird there. anyways. the thing here is that. those are slurs. reclaimed slurs that can be empowering to many people, yes, but slurs nonetheless. reclaiming a slur is taking a harmful word and wearing it as a badge of pride. first off, pansexual is not a slur (ur not implying that in anyway just. saying) and it isnt being reclaimed when people dont treat it as having harmful origins. transsexual is the way some people identify but ppl acknowlege its a slur and originates from transphobia. ppl love to act like queer isnt a slur, which is an issue in and of itself, but just. factually it has historically and is currently being used against ppl with the intent to hurt them. pansexual isnt on the same level as these and other words like the f slur, d slur, etc. pansexual originates from trans and biphobia WITHIN the community and not outside of it, and most pansexuals dont see themselves as reclaiming the title because they dont think anythings wrong with it in the first place. and reclaiming it just seems unnecessary considering its history? theres no empowerment from using pan as a label as opposed to queer or transsexual, and it just divides the bisexual community for no reason.

how is a person using a not-perfect label a threat to the community? ok i dont think its a threat but still an issue if that difference makes sense? id like to reiterate a few things ive said before, but for me personally, it made me look down on bisexuals and see them as lesser, and it made people around me see pan as the "trans inclusive" sexuality as opposed to bisexuality, and basically its usage just leads to further biphobia. is this the worst of biphobia? no!!! but its still biphobia and why not attempt to target and minimize that? i have no way to singlehandedly stop biphobia, but my post might get through to my friends who id as pan and that small thing is better than nothing.

if someone used the pan label in a transphobic way, wouldnt that bigotry be different from people using it not transphobically?: someone claiming all bi ppl are transphobic and only pan is the acceptable label is obviously a lot worse than someone iding as pan and saying bi/pan solidarity but again, the second isnt not an issue because the first one is a bigger issue, its just a smaller issue in comparison. i wouldnt say the bigotry is different, one is just worse than the other, but it still has the same problems.

if pan people dont do anything transphobic other than id as pan then what changes with iding as bi over pan other holier-than-thou activism: its just one less person using a transphobic label? which isnt that big but it might lead to their friends stopping iding as pan and cause fewer people around them to see bi as a transphobic identity. which is small scale stuff, i wont try to blow it out of proportion, but thats still a step in the right direction and hopefully more people follow with it. its not terribly huge or lifechanging but something small that may only affect the people close to you is still something rather than nothing.

As if the so called ace “”discourse””( which has till now involved aphobes and exclusionists comparing ace people to nazis,pedophiles,white supremacists,slave owners,homophobes,  ,talking over ace WOC by white people, telling ace people AND kids to kill themselves,victim blamig and gaslighting ace victims of rape, putting extremely graphic sexual content into asexual tags and sending sexual content to ace minors and adults who are are suffering from sexual trauma even after they told them to STOP ) could not get any worse, we now have these pathetic excuses of human beings accusing ace people of lying about their trauma and abuse just so that they can justify their harassing of ace people.

How asexuality is pathologized

Can the abuse and trauma ace people go through when people try to “convert ace people back to normalcy” and “fix” their asexuality really be called “conversion therapy”?

This is gonna be long,but i hope you will stick with me though this because im going to try as much as possible to make this as source-fuilled and educational for yall. So here we go:

1. Has asexuality really been pathologized?

Short answer,Yes.  Many mental health professionals had consideredasexuality an illness throughout history.There are many articles talking about it.Up till 2013, indicators of asexuality like lack of sexual attraction,sexual fantasies towards other people, lack of interest in sex etc were basically classified as Hypoactive sexual desire disorder in the DSM which was revised just to include that all those indicators WOULD be considered as a “symptom” of HSDD unless a person self identified as “asexual” which wasnt much useful since not everyone(especially young people) might know that they are ace and can be pressured by their peers into going through the “treatment” for HSDD .They did the same thing before they removed homosexuality from the DSM.

Heres the long answer :

Throughout history , asexuality has brought out bigots to talk about how “unnatural” it is and how it obviously is a “mental illness/disorder” bc experiencing sexual attraction is always considered an inherent experience to almost all living beings.There are many medical and psychological articles either directly referring to asexuality as a disorder or referring its main indicators like “lack of sexual attraction,sexual feelings towards other people”etc as a mental disorder.

But the most well known instance of pathologization of asexuality is the  HSDD (Hypoactive sexual desire disorder).It has been in both The International Classification of Diseases and  Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders both which are used by mental health professionals and psychologists to diagnose people.

There was a huge pushback against HSDD by asexual activists bc it categorized all indicators of asexuality like lack of sexual attraction,sexual fantasies towards other people and lack of sexual desire etc as a disorder.As a result,  asexuality was officially given an exception in the DSM-V by stating that if a person experiencing all the symptoms of HSDD self ID’d as asexual then they wont be diagnosed with it.This seemed a good enough thing to do and acephobes keep bringing it up to show how “different HSDD is from asexuality” and how “The medical world has “”accommodated”” itself for the comfort of ace people” but this act and the whole concept of a “Hypoactive sexual desire disorder” are considered problematic and have been put through questions not only by ace people, but feminists and activists too . Heres why :

1. The person STILL has to identify as asexual to be not diagnosed.Asexuality still isnt as visible and well known of an orientation so  if a person doesn’t know that they’re asexual, the DSM does no work to sufficiently differentiate between these “sexual disorders” and a sexual identity. so it could very well happen that someone who doesn’t know that they’re asexual is convinced by a therapist that they have a sexual abnormality that needs to be corrected(x)  .Taking into consideration the fact that a lack of sexual attraction is still seen as a sign of “brokenness” etc , the aphobia ace people face from their peers,how sex is seen an inherent part of one’s relationship and the immense number of ace people who experience internalized aphobia, theres a higher chance of ace people being pressurized into lying about not being ace and being made to go through treatment of HSDD .

2. The asexuality exception is not included in the diagnostic criteria, but a different part of the text. The desk reference version, which is the smaller version most psychiatrists will use because the actual DSM is a monster of a book, only contains the diagnostic criteria. So, unless a doctor is very familiar with the update DSM, you could still be diagnosed despite identifying as asexual. (X)

3.The DSM is put out by the APA, an American organization and is not used internationally in ALL countries.The international appx. equivalent to the DSM is the ICD (International Classification of Diseases) where an exception of asexuality is NOT made like they did in DSM-V. So many countries where DSM-V is not followed are free to diagnose ace people with almost no repercussions.

4.There is till NO distinction made between HSDD and asexuality and all indicators of asexuality are still considered “symptoms” of HSDD. the DSM does no work to sufficiently differentiate between these “sexual disorders” and a sexual identity. so it could very well happen that someone who doesn’t know that they’re asexual is convinced by a therapist that they have a sexual abnormality that needs to be corrected(x) Just putting “All these signs are of HSDD unless a person identifies as asexual” is literally the same as saying “Being attracted to the same gender and/or being attracted to more than two genders is a disorder unless a person identifies as gay/bi”.In fact a very very similar thing was done to homosexuality in the DSM before homosexuality was deleted off entirely as a disorder.

5.Im not even gonna get into the fact that alot of people have pointed out how  the big push to keep HSDD in the DSM came from the pharmaceutical companies who need this diagnosis to exist so thatthey can market a drug called Flibanserin and both of these thingshave been called out by both ace as well as non ace feminists bc studies showed it improved very little in terms of sexual satisfaction in its participants and has potentially big risks(x) and  MANY women disinterested in sex(weather ace or not) were pressurized to undergo treatment of HSDD and use flibanserin bc of the misogynist belief that women need to put out more than care about their safety white taking it bc thats not the point of this post.

But just for yalls consideration : Just bc there is a disorder in the DSM doesnt mean that its legit.Female hysteria,homosexuality were considered disorders.As an amazing post here said : “until psychology stops operating in terms of “inappropriate behavior” and starts looking at patients’ experiences of symptoms as stressful and unpleasant, it will be an enforcement of ableism first and an aid to the mentally ill last.”  . Unless someone goes through some trauma which make them LOSE their capability to feel sexual attraction and desire,i’ll consider any “disorder” which automatically assumes lack of sexual attraction and desire “unnatural”, as doubtful .

So  yeah , asexuality still technically remains pathologized and ace people still are at a risk of being diagnosed and being forced/pressurized to undergo treatments which arent usually even that effective and have health risks associated with them.On to the next topic :

2.Can ace people call the trauma and abuse they went through  when people tried to “convert ace people back to normalcy” and “fix” their asexuality  “conversion therapy”?

First off, Read THIS And THIS. Now,

Short answer,Yes. Maybe they might not be under the threat of going through the EXACT conversion therapy which involves basically torture and is legal in like 36/41 states IN AMERICA but then again, so arent those gay people who didnt/dont/wont be living/going to those 36/41 states IN AMERICA but have/are/will be  tried to be “converted back to” straightness by their peers.Any way in which non straight people are forced/pressurized to be converted into straight by so called “professionals” and “medical experts” counts as conversion therapy to me bc at the end of the day it doesnt really matter WHAT word you define it as when those trying to “fix” non straight people’s non straightness view those non straight people as someone who needs “fixing”.

Also, saying that ace people’s experience when their peers were trying to “fix” their asexuality isnt AS bad as what gay people go through when their gayness is tried to be “fixed” is…not a good thing to say.Trauma isnt a competition.Telling a person with a sprained leg that another person has a  fractured leg doesnt make the first person’s sprained leg hurt any less

Heres the long answer :

Here is the thing.The most “well known”  conversion therapy(and in aphobes’ case,the conversion therapy they keep bringing up to discourage ace people from calling their trauma involving attempts to fix them “conversion therapy” ) is the one which is legal in 36 or 41(The data keeps differing from diff sources) states in AMERICA ONLY and basically involves showing homoerotic images and videos to gay/bi people and inflicting some sort of violence/harm on them when them and/or their mind and/or their body shows any sort of interest on such images till they form an aversion to same gender attraction and other forms of torture.I described it as PG rated as possible but if anyone is interested and is NOT at the risk of being triggered they can read the whole process here(x).

Aphobes keep arguing that since no clinic advertises that they will “convert ace people back to normalcy” ,and even IF some ace person IS forced to undergo treatment of HSDD ,their experience doesnt matches the EXACT amount of abuse and trauma gay people go through during conversion therapy, aces arent “allowed” to call their experiences “conversion therapy”.Now , anyone with common sense and general morality will realize how bullshit this is bc aphobes are just putting their american centric rhetorics over ALL aces in THIS WORLD(bc they are ALWAYS considering the american conversion therapy)but i’ll still just prove how WRONG this argument is :

2.Not every ace conversion therapy is caused by going through the treatment of HSDD : There are many ace people who have been told that it was their asexuality ITSELF that was a disorder and went through abusive therapies to “cure” it which led to some people ending up self-isolating until they ended up in a psych hospital and some people felt broken and alone after that(x).Many health professionals simply pass off asexuality as some  symptomatic of deeper mental health problem and thus not every ace who might have been tried to be “converted back to normalcy” might have been gone through quite a rough treatment too.

3.Telling people that their trauma isnt “”really that bad”” isnt a good thing.Telling them that their trauma  dosent really “”qualify”” enough to be considered “”real”” conversion therapy isnt good.Oppression and traumas arent a competition.The abuse and torture gay people go through during conversion therapy isnt gonna make the trauma ace people go through “better” or less severe.Telling women that “at least they arent being human trafficked and beaten by their husbands everyday like in middle east” isnt gonna make them feel better when they are catcalled or sexually harassed at work.If ace people are tried to be “”fixed”” by being forced/pressurized undergo “” treatments”” by so called “professionals” and “medical experts” , it counts as conversion therapy to me bc at the end of the day, ace people’s orientation is still being seen as “something to be fixed into straightness”.

What's The Difference  Between Cannabis, Hemp, and Industrial Hemp?

So, hemp and cannabis are very similar. Legally speaking, it's only hemp if there is 0.3% thc or less. Otherwise its cannabis. Thanks to the 2014 and 2018 farming bills hemp has gained more and more legal status.  Its legal in oil form in most,  if not all us states. At the very least, its no longer expressedly illegal a lot of places. Cannabis has upwards of 500 chemicals and compounds that make it up. These chemicals interact with each other and within your body to create something called the entourage effect. We don't understand a lot of what these compounds do, but we know they work better together than isolated.

Since hemp is lacking thc, it will also lack cannabinoids that come from thc. Delta 9 thc is the most famous one, but delta 8 thc is a thing. Cbn. Metabolites of these. Raw forms of these.  

High quality cannabis will be planted 6+ feet a part. This gives lots of room for shade leaves and flowers to grow. 35% total cannabinoids is about the highest I've seen. High quality hemp will be planted in a similar manner, though 25% is the upper range I've seen for high cbd low thc flowers. These are all female plants to increase resins and decrease chance of seeds.

Now industrial hemp, thats a different beast. I mean its nearly the same as hemp, but its planted 4-6 inches a part. This makes for long stalks with little to no leaves or flowers. The bulk of cannabinoids form in the leaves and flowers. It's also a mix of male and female plants. It's seedy as hell. Industrial hemp has only about  89 cannabinoids compared to nearly 500! The concentration is also significantly lower. Usually around 5%. Most commercial oils dont even use the flowers or leaves for oil making! They produce oils from the sticks stems and seeds! With little cbd present, often harsh chemicals are needed to pull the cbd at all.

But what does this mean? Well think of something thats probably more familiar.  Alcohol by volume. A beer is usually around 6% alcohol, right in line with our industrial hemp figures. Wine and hard liquor. Comes in higher strengths. Port is usually around 15% alcohol. Rum and other liquors are usually  35-40% alcohol.  Then you can go bananas with stuff like 151, or grain alcohol like everclear or graves that can be 195 proof or 95% pure!

It might take 4 or more beers to get  buzz while a single mixed drink will do the same. Or a sip of grain alcohol. Its pretty much the same when you're talking cannabis. Some people may get effects from industrial hemp (the beer in the analogy) but you may need to use a lot of it to see those effects. While a much smaller dose of a high cbd low thc product could do the same for less product (port). Some still might not get desired results. Thats because cbd works best with thc, even if you arent trying to get high. For those people, I'd suggest using a cannabis strain thats high in both thc and cbd. You might need to mix non industrial hemp with cannabis to find what you need. The cannabis is the hard liquor in the analogy.  Concentrated oils like feco, rso, hash, dabs etc. This would be the grain alcohol or 151 equivalent. 

Unfortunately due to the legal status of cannabis, most end up growing their own or purchasing on the black market.  Cbd isn't psychotropic, so unless there's medical needs, most focus on thc to get high. That makes quality cbd sources hard to find in recreational / illegal markets.

Not all extractions are created equal either. Alcohol is a polar solvent. It pulls fat solubles as well as water solubles.  Direct oil infusions will only absorb oil solubles. Cannabinoids are fat soluble, so this isnt a problem. It limits things like chlorophyll,  which is better to get from leafy greens anyway. Co2 on the other hand is a limited extract. You have to blast the plant at multiple pressures to extract multiple cannabinoids. You are essentially making isolates then recombining them with a co2, while an alcohol extract just pulls everything.

In my opinion, the best oils are solvent extracts or direct infusion.

like.... from what i have gleaned from my time on the internet, there are 2 main strains of orc. 

1 is tolkien style. in this one, orcs are specifically made by evil magic to be little killing machines. they all love torturing others including each other, destroying the environment, may not physically be able to feel positive human social emotions like compassion, and are all ugly. you are not supposed to feel bad when they die because you know that if given the chance they would kill you in a much worse way than you are killing them. still basically humanoid and do not count as xenophilia unless UNLESS you go off script with the design and and make them look like aliens or some shit. 

2 WoW style. big, green, buff, bad teeth, experience fantasy racism but arent inherently evil. natural part of the world. may be war-like but its more clear that its mostly cultural. again, not xenophilia unless you make a design left turn and base them off pigs or aliens or something like that. this is the more common type i see.

i guess i just feel weird about this stuff because of the fantasy racism aspect.... like the orcs are always coded as poc, but in-universe they are shunned because they do actually kill people... but then i see like, modern au self insert stuff where orcs dont kill people, they are either the equivalent of just extra big and hot humans, which defeats the purpose of calling them monsters, or, they are used as a racism stand-in and still tagged with ‘monster boyfriend’ or ‘xenophilia’ even though all the writer did was make up a new fictional human ethnicity.

and first of all a related tangent, it reminds me of this Other thread months n months ago where ppl were talking abt whats even meant anymore when we say Anime. like, obv it’s like “japanese animation” but if its simply animated in japan does that count. if it is of the Same Style but developed somewhere in the west do we call it anime. etc

but anyways yknow she was saying that its a lie to pretend Real Artists will never study / draw from anime/manga; coz like yeah sure maybe if ur a glassblower but as for “Industry” art jobs, yeah actual they do? tf

and if you aren’t learning art w the intent to be a Professional, then you can learn from whatever you want, and again—even ppl who ARE pros are gonna ref this shit and all

also i mean i never had a naruto phase like all you fuckin emos but i was alive and so of course some anime / manga inspired me to draw / influenced my style, and also i’m alive w the art of ppl who were alive from the 60s on so THEY’RE art has been influenced by anime/manga and so is mine when it is influenced from THAT. like, anime was stylistically derived from western animation in the first place, and then of course it’d be influenced right back. and then there’s the fact that there’s, like, im embarrassed i cant think of the japanese guy who did the original character designs for scooby doo. all those olden cartoons are alreay technically anime influenced. is scooby doo an anime

and then, y’know, it just gets down to being needlessly shitty. like “oh the anatomy isn’t realistic” or “its too simplified” or “____ doesn’t work like that irl!! NEVER DO ____” or “if you draw the [choose stylized umn...what do you call it when u invent a visual language to depict something more intangible or whatever or for dramatic effect....i say “its a figure of speech” but yknow] you are contributing to the downfall of art itself” etc etc etc as if Clearly Anime Influenced Stylistic Maneuvers is all bad and awful and you’ll have to unlearn it aaaaahhh

whennn actuallllyy you could say all that shit about equivalent elements in western comics/cartoons/pop art. but nobody much does that (at least not with all the “NEVER EVER EVER DO ___” or the other kinds of implications that this is awful and will ruin your art forever and is an objective sin” like again if you’re not trying to teach someone ONLY realism maybe take it easy. there’s not really any true hard and fast forever unvreakable Art Rules. and to single this one sort of “newer” mm “Foreigner” style is. pretty crappy

and pretty pointless and often counterproductive and or just. not even true

and so anyways the point is that yeah its anime draw what you like to draw and go from there and you really can’t Avoid any anime-derived influence and why tf would you want to. hmm
