omg side order was so good
my annoying rant about everything down below⬇️ also if you dont have the dlc dont press the keep reading button
OKAY so for starters it was actually kinda disappointing to see that most of the gameplay has been shown already in the trailer, i would’ve liked to have been surprised..
and there is no feeling of progressing forward like any other storymode since you go to the start every single time you lose and all your achievements disappear unless you get into the boss fight, and only if you win you get one singular key
and all the powerups that you’re used to having just gone. poof. disappear.
i would’ve liked to see npcs that you can actually talk to because somehow there is no button to talk to pearl? like maybe they should have made a feature when you’re right underneath pearl to press A and talk to her for a bit, even if its something simple like “yo! let’s get back on track!”
you can’t even talk to marina and all she asks is if you need something to be hacked, which makes her seem as she’s just there for that mechanic and nothing else— as someone who never played splatoon 2 and doesnt know her personality im not sure what the hype is about for her
we should have been able to go into the elevator and actually walk around and talk to the characters and like salmon run, when it says ‘time to go to work!’ for side order it would say ‘arrived at floor’ or smth like that.. i would give anything to be able to walk around and interact with everyone in the elevator, like if the characters pearl, marina and dedf1sh weren’t there it would function the same
why arent we able to talk to them like. dedf1sh is such a cool character where is the lore? they just stand in a corner and is just there…
it would be so amazing if you could slowly befriend dedf1sh and get exclusive gear/random stuff from the metro or smth from them as the friendship points rack up and they become more open to you
and all the bosses are easy to tell apart from the silhouette and you can easily guess how you’re going to fight them, i want that little moment of mystery as well as not knowing how hard it’s going to be
coloured fingertips dont even seem like a thing anymore, it was just for agent 8 and her blue palette things
it looks as if you have to fight many of the same boss to get the locker key and after it just becomes repetitive and there is no story whatsoever, the villain is a glitchy entity called ‘order’??? like if that same glitchy entity thing switched to agent 4 for like half a frame the entire fandom would go WHOAH WHAT WAS THAT and we’d be talking about it for ten thousand days
the only motive is that you have to save everyone from being grayscaled blablabla but you dont even have any evidence of the character even being there, the character palettes are just a cheap way to implement more weapons, like what do you mean we don’t get the actual characters standing around the outside of the spire.. i want to talk to paul and warabi and ikkan (cough cough i mean quinn and mashup???)
we cant even get these extra characters because 3d modelling is SUCH a LOT of EFFORT for such a huge company like nintendo we should feel so sorry for all the work that they had to do, they put in their best effort (sarcasm)
all the enemies/foes are just remodelled salmon run enemies like battering largo or whatever (they could remodel the enemies but not the bands?? what)
also wheres cypher? i thought the shrimpy character would be a main character that wanders around and sells you stuff but theyre not even in sight
so uhh you can say ‘skill issue’ or smth because OHHH I HAVENT FINISHED THE GAME YEAH THIS PERSON IS JUST COMPLAINING BECAUSE THEYRE BAD AT IT or whatever im just disappointed that it was kinda overhyped and i drew art for a character that didnt even exist (skeleton agent 4)

myth's game writeup of 2023
i waited until the new year to finish this in case i managed to beat a game during december. i did not. ANYWAY.
this will contain new games as well as games i only got around to in 2023. light on spoilers but be warned
Octopath Traveler II (2023)
as far as i remember, this was the first new game I played this year, and god did it deliver. I've been a fan of octopath since the first one came out on switch in 2018, counting it as my favorite game of all time, so to have a sequel after all this time was thrilling. it did almost everything octopath 1 did and better. new path actions, day/night system, branching stories, fucking boats?? incredible.
my biggest gripe has to be the new hidden classes. I started with throne so getting inventor 10 minutes after my chapter one did definitely fuck up the progression a little bit. I think I preferred ot1 hidden classes. while the dungeons were underwhelming, the boss battles really make you fight for these secret techniques, something absent in 3 out of the 4 hidden classes of octopath 2.
overall: 4/5 BP.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed (2023)
xenoblade 3 as the end of the klaus trilogy really didn't sit well with me, for reasons that don't belong on my review of its dlc, but future redeemed fixed nearly every problem i had with base xc3 — both story and gameplay wise. it ties every xenoblade game and even some of gears and saga into a neat little 40 hour bow, and is truly a love letter to the entire series. I can only think of one problem I still have with it. the fucking menu music.
where do i even fucking start with this one really. relatively speaking, I'm a new xenoblade fan, having started xc1 in march 2022 during a harrowing experience with adhd meds, and since then it had kinda consumed me. I finished it in about a week, went on to watch xenoblade 2 because I had heard the gameplay wasn't great, and got my hands on xenoblade 3 day of release.
overall: 5 dance apples.
Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (2023)
as someone who was not immune to the hype surrounding botw, I had high hopes for the sequel. hopes that were painfully, slowly, fed into a trash compactor over my playthrough. this is another game I got on release day, lining up outside gamestop in the heat, and lets not forget that it's the only first-party switch game with a price tag of seventy bucks.
the game plays like a tech demo. I have a lot of love in my heart for it. the story was better that botw, the world was more expansive than botw, but the problem here is that everything it does is directly compared to breath of the wild. it doesn't get enough time to shine, because we're in the exact same world as 6 years ago, but instead of pinkish black malice we have blackish pink gloom. i much prefer the runes to the zonai abilities, and the sense of wonder that permeated breath of the wild is replaced by a sense of nostalgia that just doesn't appeal to me much.
all of this isn't to say it's a bad game. I think it's a great game, honestly, but a great game that wasn't meant for me. I've seen the insane shit people do with ultrahand, but it just... isn't my style.
overall: 441/1000 korok seeds
Pikmin 4 (2023)
it's pikmin. i dont have much to say about it. it was a lot of fun, loved that part where i bulborbed all over those guys. im not a gameplay reviewer, at heart i mostly talk about story, and a game like pikmin doesn't have much for me to comment on. good fun. lived up to expectations. probably wouldn't replay.
overall: 7500 sparklium
Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood (2017)
oh, stormblood... the rage you still fill my veins with. I'm not going to spend too long on this one because I have better things to do with my life than shit on an expansion everyone already hates, but let me make it clear I actually do have reasons for disliking it.
having ala mhigo built up since the very start of a realm reborn, only to have half of the ala mhigo expansion take place halfway across the star, was very disappointing. the monotony of the three areas in gyr abania compared to the three far east areas was very disappointing. the treatment of the people of the steppe and honestly that entire segment in the main story quest was very disappointing. hien, as a character, in his entirety, was very disappointing.
I will say it had strong parts. the 61-70 quests for several jobs were the strongest in their entire story (see: dark knight). the dungeons started to get more interesting. it gave us the quest Child Labor, which is hilarious and I'll never be finishing it because I want it there forever.
overall: 1/3 WHM Lillies.
Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers (2019)
ffxiv immediately got better the second 4.0 was over. even the patch quests instantly shot up in quality. it's not even funny. the lead up to shadowbringers was the most fun I had had with the game since a realm reborn, and all of the first was heartbreaking to go through even though I was spoiled on That Character's Identity.
the duty trust system (is that what it was called?) made dungeons much more fun. getting to go through hell with alphinaud alisaie and thancred made everything 10x better, even if it was a lot slower. the story, again, heartbreaking — ryne's arc in particular felt like being stabbed by thousands of little needles while trying to play. in the best way, of course. and amaurot... amaurot. getting to quote our favorite knight in there was my 8th umbral calamity.
shadowbringers also marks when a lot of your job's functionality is really unlocked, so doing the level 80 raid series was genuinely a ton of fun. and again the thousands of little needles. i cried at least 7 times during the main story.
overall: 85/100 kenki gauge.
Katana Zero (2019)
possibly my favorite game this year. the protagonist, zero (or as i like to call him, katana from zero,) ticked all the boxes for a character I'd be absolutely obsessed with. true enough, i fell in love. the fast-paced gameplay, the diegesis of gameplay elements which would typically go unquestioned, and the care that seeps through every dialogue choice all solidify katana zero as one of my favorite game experiences ever. I'll leave it at this, because I encourage everyone to at least give it a try.
overall: Yes, that should work.
Fire Emblem Engage (2023)
this is one of the few 2023 releases on this list that I didn't get on launch, because at the time I had relatively little interest in fire emblem as a series. then I made a lot of friends who enjoy it, and in october, bestie sen decided to buy it for me as an early birthday present. everyone say thank you sen.
considering this is my first fire emblem game, i have absolutely no deeper insight into how it matches up compared to the others, and plenty of people more eloquent than me have already talked about that. what I do know is that the gameplay was surprisingly fun as my first tactical rpg, and the story was passable. all the characters were appealing in one way or another, and I'm still mad I had to choose between marrying kagetsu or fogado. they're both my husbands at heart.
overall: I didn't internalize enough of this game to come up with a clever rating.
Fire Emblem Engage: Fell Xenologue (2023)
I was expecting the dlc to continue the main story, so I put it off until I had finished the base game. in hindsight, I regret it, because I'd love to have brought the winds and twins with me to fight their evil versions and alternate universe dad. the story was... alright. I really liked all the small battle interactions between fell characters and our party members which they would've known. I instantly recognized fogado in chapter 1 because I am in love with him by the way.
overall: i dont know. 1¾ dragonstones
with 2024 upon us, I'll probably be writing reviews for games as I play them. I'm trying to use tumblr more as a social platform instead of just reblogging. we'll see how that plays out. if you like any of these games (yes, even tears of the kingdom) please talk to me about them! that's all for now. look out for my mangled thoughts on SANABI and Nier: Automata next :)

here are some indie games i like that u might notve heard of. im just going thru my steam liberry so
thumper: got a lot of buzz before it came out and then not much after the hype left; a dark rhythm game where you play as a bug on a track. loud music, flashing lights and colors, for the love of god be careful. its very difficult but i love it a lot (i have not beaten it.) controller recommended
speedrunners: a 2d racing game for up to 4 people (with both couch and online co-op!) a game that i got attached to for some reason. very repetitive but has a high skill ceiling for people that enjoy chasing better times (or unlocking things now that that’s an option)
slasher’s keep: a first person roguelike-dungeon crawler with bits of story between every few levels. a good amount of mechanics to figure out involving weapon crafting, traps, secrets, and bosses. not super serious tone-wise, i’d probably look thru the community tab for guides and help if you feel like something isn’t clicking. still fun either way
grim dawn: rpg diablo-like in a post-apocalyptic nightmare world full of animals, demons, undead, and aliens that want to kill you. lore-heavy and with a lot of fun min-maxing and class combinations, esp if you get the dlc. please for the love of god play grim dawn and post about it or i will explose
barony: my current game of the week, another first person roguelike-dungeon crawler that takes A Lot of inspiration from the ascii roguelike NetHack. story light even compared to slasher’s keep but fun and difficult with different ways to build your starting class based mostly on what you find.

Some thoughts about the final shape (the DLC)
on one hand, i have been outspoken about the dangers of online only, live service games, and the practices their publishers continue to implement to rake in the largest amount of player retention and money possible quarter over quarter. I keep thinking to myself, “do i really want to support this kind of business model, knowing the servers could shut down at any moment and that there is very little possibility of an offline patch?” it would be hypocritical of me to spend money on the final shape when I’ve been so adamant about the fragility of digital goods, the psychological impact of FOMO tactics, and the prevalence of “you had to be there” in reference to an ongoing experience like destiny. I also have strong feelings on preordering things.
on the other hand, i like playing with my friends. This game has been the catalyst for a lot of friendships and i cherish the time i spend with them through the game. I’ve also spent so much time and money on destiny over the years that sunk cost fallacy is rearing its ugly head and I’m thinking it’s too late to back out now, I’m already so invested. I also think to myself “everything is limited: time, money, life. Why don’t i try and enjoy the content the game’s offering, and enjoy it with people i enjoy being around?”
I’m also so consumed by completionism and collecting, that i MUST have all of the new things, all of the new titles and triumphs and guns. It’s a problem I’ve been struggling with for a long time, most likely because i tie my self worth to what i can achieve, and this is what i can achieve. And I’m worried that final shape will just fuel that fire and not solve the root problem. Because at the end of the day it’s more content, with more things to obtain and feats to achieve.
But it’s also a story, a story that has been building up for 10 years, the climactic conclusion to the light and dark saga, and i don’t want to miss out on it, especially looking through the metaphorical window.
Yes, $124.99 is (in comparison to other MMOs (even though destiny isn’t really an MMO in the traditional sense)) is a reasonable asking price for a year’s worth of content. Yes, i don’t HAVE to buy the annual pass edition (and i probably shouldn’t, again, because of sunk cost fallacy). The basic edition comes with the expansion and the first episode, which is cool.
I want to be hyped about final shape. I want to join my friends in experiencing the expansion. But im just so conflicted because of my personal morals and stances, but maybe i can make an exception for destiny, but making exceptions just leads to more doubt, and if i can’t take a strong stand on something, then who am i really?
People have been so kind to me recently. I want to return that kindness by being there for them, even in a silly video game. Because this silly video game has meaning.
I don’t know, i just wanted to get these thoughts out there

so uh thoughts?
i assume youre talking about ruin, so. i have a few? gripes? i guess? but a lot of praise as well. i dont hate it thats for sure, its put together far better than the base game, though it does get incredibly repetitive, even just to watch. the parts that are supposed to be scary are effective enough i think, and i really enjoy the darker environments and the general tone a lot more
the AR vanni mask is weirding me out, though it IS cool and a lot of the ar environments are surreal in a way i enjoy. i feel like it definitely has significance to help wanted since thats the same mask we see IN help wanted, and that we'll get more answers once help wanted 2 comes out. i love the purple and the stars and whatnot
im a big fan of all the designs, but security breach has always been good with designs, so no surprises there. the. glitchy rabbit thing could've been done differently but he's not particularly egregious as is. since all he does is summon animatronics he doesn't really need to be super threatening i guess. i really like his design too its freaky i like. genuinely love it
the other side we get to see of roxy was cool, i actually felt kinda sad when that whole interaction w cassie happened. itd be especially fucked if the friends that didnt show up to her party were the dead kids lmao
the most hyped i got during this whole experience was when i saw candy cadet show up ^_^ im serious. i dont know why but i got so fucking excited when he appeared and while im sure his story is significant to the lore i did not get enough sleep to bother even thinking about decoding whatever the hell that means right now
the mimic :( i dont like the mimic :( its better than afton but i dont like the mimic :( at least its not gregbot. and at least the mimic (seemingly) isnt directly related to burntrap or glitchtrap. thats something we're also gonna have to wait and see on. im guessing everybody jumped ship when the pizzaplex collapsed and afton is tucked in somewhere in vanessas house thats my headcanon now
(which also leaves the question of whatever the hell the glitchy bunny is. is it glitchtrap? i donr. know)
i didn't have high standards for it for obvious reasons, and it has exceeded them for obvious reasons. it is just a dlc afterall. a very involved dlc but a dlc nonetheless. however, i have one major complaint and its that theres NO FUCKING VANNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I MISS HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHERE IS SHE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH STOP TAKING HER AWAY FROM THE SPOTLIGHT STEEL WOOL I WILL FUCKING KILL YOU

More side order criticism and complaining that you are under no obligation to read
I get that side order was a roguelike which apparently tend to be short? Idk ive never played one before but anyway that still doesnt justify the initial hype, the blatant change in aesthetics and plot (remember the first trailer? And the second trailer i think with the lobby doors looking VERY different and matching what we saw in the concept art trailer) almost last second fnaf security breach style, and the amount of stupid shit that happened throughout most of splatoon 3s lifespan since SUPPOSEDLY the games only gonna be getting updates for like, what, 2 more seasons? And its like wow we waited all this time and went through so much shit for a story thats hardly even a story. Once you unlock everything its just. Prlz grinding for gear to get.
It was fun! It was enjoyable! But it sucked and it wasnt worth all of that. Unfortunately i care a lot about splatoons lore and they didnt really go anywhere with what little lore they did have. They also contradicted themselves multiple times for a net zero lore gain anyway. This is about the whole memories """subplot""", if you can even call it that. It really was just "pearl and marina and also this other random irrelevant character talk to each other while you stand there and stare at them from the background" simulator and its like. Thats it? Thats the story? Thats what i waited through all the bullshit for? And then they make you think that there is more, actually, because they keep leading up to something, and then nothing happens. Like okay what was that for.
The gameplay was quick and easy because thats just my skill level. I didnt find it difficult. If youre good at salmon run then chances are youre good at side order. Theres nothing else to be done about that. Im not gonna play bad on purpose for a chance at a challenge. That isnt fun. I just wish the game was rewarding and to me the lore is the reward but... when you think about it literally at all nothing that marina did all this for shows any proof of having worked. She still has to hack her own vr world to do anything with it. Order, now smollusk, is still very much in control. They dont show you anything memory-related actually changing or being affected. They just say it happened and act like thats all there should be to it. And if they were gonna focus on memories, why did they make this whole thing about how bystanders can accidentally be sucked in and then do literally nothing with that? Why not show an actual change in the actual inkopolis square? Why murch of all characters to get a pallet. Why not involve iso padre, whos in inkopolis square now (im very happy about that), who had also lost his memories and was an established character that we could actually interact with in the previous game? It just doesnt add up. Like sorry that i expected good storytelling, its just this is the same people who made octo expansion and they keep trying to one-up octo expansion and they keep falling flat on their face because they keep thinking the gameplay is what made octo expansion so good when it was also the plot and the lore and the worldbuilding that added so much to it so i thought "this time for sure" especially with everything they showed us in the first trailer.
Again, i know it was all concept art, but surely it wouldnt be fair to show off so much only for the final product to be almost nothing like it? Surely if they werent set on the story then they wouldve waited longer to be realeasing trailers and announcing dlc in the first place? Surely it makes sense to expect what was shown. I dont get why theres some people who think everyone had too high expectations. Like its literally just a matter of if you think about any of it literally at all and actually care about it any way more than barebones surface level stuff literally at all then its natural to expect more.

And finally, to complete my yearly game posts, here's what I plan on playing in the year 2024:
1. Assemble With Care - a short little game I should be able to knock out in a few hours but I picked it up in a bundle and I have wanted to play it so I will try to knock it out this year.
2. I'm more than half way done with Baldur's Gate 3 but I likely will be playing it through January. I hope to finish it at least once before P3R.
3. Bloodborne - help.
4. Borderlands 2 - since I had such a blast playing Borderlands with my boyfriend this year, I'm looking forward to giving this game a second chance and hopefully enjoying it much more.
5. Borderlands 3 - a little less hopeful for this one, since I haven't heard much good about it, but might as well knock out the main franchise.
6. Boyfriend Dungeon - I just got this for Christmas and I'm excited for the concept of romancing my weapons :)
7. I'm also more than halfway through Catherine, so I also intend to finish that in the coming month.
8. Cat Museum - something cute and short I picked up on mega sale and want to make an effort to play this year.
9. The Coffin of Andy and Leyley - I actually have no idea what this game is about or if I'll like it but it was a gift so dammit I'll play it.
10. Dragon's Dogma 2 - Dragon's Dogma is easily in my top 10 games of all time, and I am SO hype for this game. The only downside is it's coming in March, and the first quarter of 2024 is pretty PACKED with games for me.
11. Etrian Odyssey - because I never finished it when I owned it on DS but I'm in my Atlus Games era rn so
12. Far: Lone Sails - I was drawn to this game for the art and it seems like a quick little experience of a game.
13. Final Fantasy 16 DLC - blanketing over the currently available DLC and the up and coming DLC.
14. Hades - a carry over from 2023's list but THIS WILL BE THE YEAR (maybe)
15. Haven - I don't think (?) this game is very long but it looks very heartwarming so I'm here for it this year.
16. Little Nightmares 2 - another fairly short game that I have no reason not to play, especially when I'm obsessed with the first one.
17. Little Nightmares 3 - I don't know what the release date is yet but like Borderlands let's try to close out a franchise!
18. Metaphor: ReFantazio - it doesn't even have a release date and I'm already excited about it.
21. Nier Automata - another carry over from 2023, but I have a good feeling about it this year.
19. NEO: The World Ends With You - I hear only good things about this game but I will be walking into it 98% blind.
20. Nightingale - Idk how much I'll actually play this game but my friend and I have been watching its development for years and we are READY
22. Nier Replicant - I watched a friend play some of this and it looked fun, and since I saw it was free on PS plus... why not.
23. Octopath Traveler - this is to feed my JRPG addiction but break up some of my Atlus obsession
24. Opus: Echo of Starsong - This was a gift like 2 years ago and I really want to play it through this year.
25. Persona 3 Reload - I ALREADY TOOK VACATION FOR IT IM SO READY 38 MORE DAYS
26. Persona 4 Arena - Because I think it's the only readily available Persona game I haven't played yet.
27. Sea of Stars - I'm more than half through this too, I stopped playing it to play Tactica so I'll be finishing this soon as well.
28. Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne - I put a fair amount of time into it this year, and I adore this game. I'm finishing it next year.
29. Shin Megami Tensei 5 - for real this year, I promise (🤞)
31. Undertale - why have I not played this? Why did it sit on my list last year untouched? Why did I install it and never play it? The world may never know.
30. Soul Hackers 2 - because again, I'm in my Atlus Games era and I bought it this year so time to play it.
32. Untitled Goose Game - for casual hijinks
I'm even more ambitious this year than last year and thats without knowing even half of whats to be released in 2024 sooo wish me luck.

i was told im not annoying so
few key things;
two playable characters confirmed. stories can be played in any order which is really interesting. going to assume the manuscript feature helps to give out points where changing up and experiencing the other half of the story would be a good idea. i personally really like a feature like that. also i was right about the differences between the character locations with one being fucked up real world and another the twisted dark one. which, incredibly cool
also - saga anderson. not only does that name slap, but connection to original game confirmed which is amazing i love that so much
also if the game takes place 13 years after the last one, that explains the changes a lot. just intrigued to see what happened after the seemingly happy ending of alan wake (given i havent played the control awe dlc which i think elaborates some on alans situation? i need to look it up) to lead up to the desolated town taken over by cultists mmmm
what really got to me about this one tho was the revelation that the other agent is alex casey?? im so intrigued to see where this settles in this reality, considering hes just supposed to be a fictional character in this universe so thats. intriguing. so looking forward to figuring this shit out omg
anyways thats that. so hyped for this im gonna be so annoying and its gonna be everyone elses problem!! sorry ive waited 13 years for a sequel im allowed to be a little insane

Beau's 2022 awards!
*big cheering and screeching from the bees in the audience* Welcome welcome every! pls. pls stop ouch my ears AAAAAAAAA Okay okay welcome to my yearly award show that i started this year on tumblr! I'm keeping it short n sweet like my honey.
(that was a lie. this is a long post) Best movie of 2022! and the nominees are! -Sonic 2 -Bullet train -thor: love and thunder -knifes out: glass onion And the winner of best movie (in my opinion) of 2022 is...... Bullet train! woooooo! okay so it was really really close with the second sonic movie because as you probably know i adore sonic! but damn, bullet train really outdid itself for me. it was funny, thrilling and very well made! And for the fact ive watched it more than both sonic movies makes it my fav movie of the year! Okay so next up. game of the year! -Sonic frontiers -elden ring -Total war: warhammer 3 -Super lesbian animal RPG This was a spicy one. mostly between total war and sonic frontiers. But in the end i do have to choose sonic! I was hyped for both these games but sonic delivered while warhammer had me wait for months and im still waiting on my blood dlc (and if it has been released. oops guess i missed it) As most people prolly already said is that sonic frontiers does has its flaws but im just here looking at what I find the most enjoyable. and when it comes to gameplay and the sick ass soundtrack sonic frontiers took the lead! I do want to say as a honerable mention that SLARPG couldve beaten sonic but ive not had the time yet to finish it. but from what ive played so far its been really fun and i defo recommend it! And now on to the final category! Music! Ive listened to a looooot of music this year. and while the other sections had the rule of only having media released in 2022 for music i just do who i found the most fun to listen to this year! and my nominees are. -Red Vox -McBaise -Paradis -Pond Last year McBaise won really really hard. the song waterslide really helped me through the starting phases of taking anti depressants. This year however i think most of the time that ive listened to actual albums its mostly been from Red Vox! And thats why i say they are my pick for 2022! Recommend listening to the visions album which was released this year! its really good! And i think thats it for now! I do want to give one more award tho. If youve read till this point. first off. Thank you! <3 secondly. tell me ur fav of the years in games, movies and music! If you do i give you the bee award of 2022 which is basicly me being way too interested in what you have to say!

man i will say i think the help wanted/hp2 are really taking the franchise in a cool direction. im just relieved they're coming up with cool new ideas while integrating old themes.
all the minigames expand the world building, and while some mechanics are mashups of preexisting ideas implemented in a new way, there are some relatively novel ones as well. i think they make really good use of VR- ie having to frantically look around at the endos, physically crawling through ballora gallery, and the hint at taking off your mask.
while i enjoyed the hype of security breach, i did personally feel the game and the dlc fell short of my expectations- i cant blame steelwool for falling victim to scope creep, but it is just so relieving to see them execute more concise concepts so well.
idk its a lot of words and i havent finished watching the playthrough but it warms my heart to see the franchise going strong

finally finished y8. thoughts below
im having a lot of mixed feelings. in general the game was fantastic. i honestly enjoyed every hour i put into it So much. i love the formula these games have and they just never disappoint me. the gameplay was super fun all throught the game like its really improved from y7 hawaii is cool the music was Fantastic the entire game and its just. it was an enjoyable experience. a wonderful entry in a series full of wonderful entries
some complaints tho. i was completely sure they were killing off kiryu coming in cause to me its what makes the most sense narratively. the guy is a fucking beast and an expert at stealing the show. which is exactly what happened. while kiryu is alive ichi will never truly be the protagonist of the series. and like. i dont mind that. weve had games with multiple protagonists and they work well. but this all feels like making up for the rushed ending kiryu got in y6 and backtracking on making a new protag for the series instead of fully commiting to ichi. am i glad kiryu didnt die? im not sure. cause theyve set everything up to have him appear on another game so itll depend on what they do next. i am glad that theyve dropped the daidoji stuff and that haruka will most likely appear again cause after all this time if they had him die alone and miserable it wouldve been absolutely terrible. like i guess thats the issue with kiryu in general. hes so big and hes been around for so long that like. what do you do with a character like that. how do you let him go without disappointing everyone but also. how do you keep him around without making him the center of everything. it really feels like theyve written themselves into a corner
i feel like ichis plot was kind of rushed or at least more barebones than expected. like this feels more like a kiryu game than anything else. the guy meets him mom for the first time in his life and they have so little time together. the stuff with palekana and lani feels like an afterthought. theres barely any mention of the fact that hes ebinas half brother??? like whats he gonna do now. they dont even show anything about that. will he stay in hawaii with his mom. will he stay in japan and continue with the dissolution bussiness? are daigo and co gonna help. is kiryu gonna help???? i guess well see in y9
Anyways some good stuff now. kiryus final segment was So good and hype. the jimas showing up to help. that little fight with them as support. the fight with ebina. very good. i also enjoyed ichis part but i feel it was a bit weaker (except for the part where chitose does her thing. shes my most specialest girl in the world. i hope they keep her for the next 10 games)
i would love to be able to comment on the post game content cause i enjoyed that in y7 a lot but sadly. its dlc and im not gonna get that until its very very cheap on sale :^)

ok im gonna do my album rating of 5 star by skz. anthony fantano eat ur heart out. this is very long winded lol.
hall of fame: BANGER i always love skz's opening tracks and theyve always been my fave, and this one carries on that tradition, that lil synth in the bg reminds me of phobia? maybe? smth like that but it rules. banger. love chans "hear the people call my name-" line, it just gets u so fucking HYPEEEE.... some if it reminds me of like. scifi movie soundtracks?
s-class: ok this rules and exemplifies the kinda annoying kpop that i Love. cant wait to put this on the car stereo and torture my siblings with it :) i love the lil breakdown with changbin and han's rap, its kinda off but its saur silly i like it. hate felix's delivery in his pre-chorus line though, it sounds weird? lmao... love them bringing back the hiphop influences to their stuff, it just works with their vocals and Vibe so well!!! seungmin looks so fiiiine in the mv too <333 augh <3333
i dont really see this sticking around for very long unfortunately, like a lot of skz title tracks? its just a lil out there compared to majority of kpop title tracks out at the moment which is a good thing and is why i love the group, but its probably going to get swept up by smth else :(
item: ok this is annoying as fuck in bits but a BANGER in others, "ITEM! ITEM! ITEM! ITEM!" is gonna be stuck in my head, and the lil post/mid chorus thing absolutely rules, its very catchy lmao (reminds me of smth? itll come to me at some point)!! chan and seungmin <333 AND minho rapping ??? augh <333333333 have i mentioned this is catchy as all fuck? it really gets stuck in ur head lmao, like it got stuck in my head from the fuckin teasers lmao... the prechorus melodic bit is a bit forgettable but it serves its purpose lol
super bowl: why is an nct song in this album? also i haaaate whisper vocals and the concept is kinda.... idk, its like gods menu but a bit more try hard? i understand the kinda darker sound theyre going for and its a banger !!! but ough the lyrics make me wanna shrivel up i cannot. i Cannot. im so sorry i cant even listen to this ironically, and i Religiously listen to regular (english version) by nct127. work.
topline: ok this slaps im sorry like FUCK!!!! WHAT A BANGER !!!!!!!! the prechorus line "we dont give a fu-" is so funny to me please let these fully grown ass men swear jyp its gonna be okay lmao... i also Love tiger jk's feature, wish he was in it more lol. BANGER. fave song so far, its so cohesive to me and it works so well with their sound and vibe im obsessed, i feel like i need to fucking blast this over some loud ass speakers. best song of the album
dlc: im so sorry . i dislike this. lmao. this sounds like some kinda 2018 radio shit. i have no other words, i p much skipped it a minute in. i cant handle the Quirky piano sample in the "we're only going to dance like crazy" part and the breakdown is so mid
get lit: THIS REMINDS ME OF ANOTHER SONG that i cant exactly name (ill figure it out n edit it in) but ITS P GOOD, i love minho's higher range he has such a fun vocal texture <3 the breakdown is kinda boring especially since we have such Good examples from skz already but its still a banger, if they have a choreo to this ill be excited to see it. this absolutely wouldve been a main track if this was a different group tbh, and i LOVE the overall more lines given to lee know in the album im so !!! he finally gets the lines he deserves <3
collision: i never particularly like the slower tracks from skz??? theres some exceptions but most of their voices lend to their normal gig which is fast paced and hype shit, and this is an example of that. idk, its alright. i like it ig, i didnt skip it halfway like dlc, so. lmao HFBDKDB. its fine lmao, defo a b-side
fnf: this almost sounds like its trying too hard to be Sincere and Emotional ??? idk. same kinda deal that dlc had, its not like skz CANT do emotional (phobia my beloved) but its just kinda? idk? it falls flat.
however, i havent seen the lyrics translation but i heard this song (and the mv coming out) is dedicated to the recovery and the victims from the 2020 australian bushfires, which is really sweet and personally i know people in my life who would be really touched by that, so maybe the mv and lyrics will change my opinion, but on the surface from an eng speaker it falls kinda flat instrumentally
youtiful: im sorry i cant listen to this im so sorry i respect and love the people who think this song is so meaningful and great and whatever but im sorry i Cannot. i didnt even get a minute in. godbless. thank you saur much.
the sound (korean version): this song always reminded me of like district 9 lmao. my opinion of this song stayed the same from the og jpn version, except maybe i like the flow of the kr ver. raps slightly more? their jpn releases and lyrics have gotten a lot better in 'the sound' tho lmao
mixtape: time out: 90's movie ending song??????? sure! very different for skz, i have to respect it tho lmao. kinda just reminds me of day6 HRBDKDHS
AND THATS IT!!!! overall a W of an album, i havent been hyped for a release since go live, since noeasy was where i kinda dropped off with their albums, and that continued on until case 143 (which is imo. worst skz main track. sorry.) but yeah! love these guys very much and im excited for this album to absolutely destroy my spotify wrapped like go live/in life did ! YIPPEEEE
