tumblr annihilated the quality of this so i added a text free image of him so ppl could actually see him! the quality will probably hold up better on my FA lol. i wanted to use a text tool in paint or sai to write all that out but they were either crunchy or just straight up not working for me today

anyway i have had levels boyfriend-adjacent guy in my head for months (almost a year honestly i think) but i only had a fuzzy idea for his design itself in my head and the many attempts i made to just find smth by doodling weren't promising. so while i still think this is a little complex for him (probably kinda overdesigned especially cuz im still so pleased with levels design and her color blocking and she has a great 'looks more complicated than she actually is to draw' design to me) and ill likely mess w it a bit in the future, im happy with where i ended up this time! i have a lot less experience drawing robots than i do just normal furries so figuring out pleasing shapes, lines, and plating for more inorganic stuff isnt rly second nature to me, but i'll get there, and im happy with him for now :-)

one thing i was trying to translate w his design that i couldnt fit on the ref was that since he's level's mechanic and he also does as much of his own servicing as he can, i wanted some of their plating and (minimal) greebling to be similar. zag has some plating styles he likes i think.. i did want their colors to contrast but still look good together :) i had to fight everything in me to not make him just teal. i love you teal. level had enough teal in her design lol. zag got a greener teal for highlights than level's 'beachier' color scheme bcuz i cant resist at least a LITTLE bit

Thanks for this question, it's been ages since I got to talk about my characters, and I'm so happy to see there's still interest in my babies! ;w;

Just a heads up, I'll be using some older drawings (pre-2023) and comic pages in french to illustrate things, if you notice a difference in style, that's totally normal!

My characters go through a lot of phases, but I'll just summarize two of the main ones: the time when they were traveling together and the time when they’ve settled into adulthood.

Nowadays, Axel's just your average journalist, living life without much magic, except for the occasional use to rev up his motorcycle or light his pipe.

Back in the day when he was an adventurer, though, things were different. If he found himself in a scrap, he had a mechanical flying broom, crafted by Tellos, at his service, along with a trusty rope to tie up his foes. He could also conjure shields of cascading fire.

If things got really intense, he would unleash a massive fire laser to clear his path, but only in the most extreme situations (he's not a violent boy).

Nowadays, Veron's a simple office worker clocking in 9 to 5. But he's also a priest, so his schedule is packed with community events like soup kitchens, masses, and charity activities.

Back in the day, he was an exorcist on a mission to heal the many cursed gods that inhabit their world. His powers were tied to electricity and magnetism, which he used to fly, deflect enemy attacks and connect his exorcism amulet to the targeted god. Plus, he wielded a katana and could manipulate any metal weapon from a distance.

In a pinch, he could disarm his foes and, if things got really out of hand, he could zap them with a jolt of electricity (but same as Axel, he's a good boy so it's not his cup of tea to turn the enemy into a roastie).

Nowadays, Uvia, Axel's twin, is a harbor innkeeper just trying to navigate the chaos of motherhood with her hellish kid, Nikolaj. Her powers allow her to play with ice and manipulate the temperature in her cocktails.

Back in her youth, that same ice was a formidable weapon. She could conjure swords, sabers, and shields to defend herself, and she had a blast shaping the terrain to trap her enemies or slide in for a quick attack. Outside of combat, she could use her abilities to cool down injured areas, acting as a makeshift anesthetic.

These days, Tellos is a plumbing engineer who sometimes picks up extra work doing repairs in people's homes. He’s also the adoptive father of Nikolaj, and he's doing his best to keep the little hellion out of trouble. His powers are great for maintaining his vegetable garden.

Back in his adventurous days, he relied heavily on his mechanical backpack, which was like a Swiss army knife for combat: it had propellers, thrusters, giant hands, blades, and even a small squadron of machine-gun robots. His plant-related powers came in handy too, allowing him to create fuel for his gadgets and potentially trap enemies. Outside of battle, he used those same powers to whip up powerful ointments whenever needed.

Speaking of my other OCs (this post is getting pretty long lmao), Kohana used to be a spy on the run, wielding daggers and setting traps.

Now, she’s made a name for herself as a legitimate political figure who genuinely listens to her constituents.

Then there’s Rhoda, Veron’s little sister. She shares his powers but focuses on precision, using her abilities to electrify her projectiles and target enemies effectively. Today, she’s a close colleague and valued friend of Kohana.

As for Elombe and Yasmine, I don’t have a visual for their current designs, sorry! Just picture Elombe as a barely-teen elf, while Yasmine was already an adult when the others were still on their adventures so she didn't change much.

Elombe is still a schoolboy, he loves to dress up as the god of rain and show off the shapes he can create with his powers. He can even make water clones, which can be quite the hell for enemies who hate kids~

Yasmine, on the other hand, is a priestess in a women’s parish dedicated to the god of wind. Her powers allow her to soar through the skies to visit her deity and send her enemies flying, though that doesn’t happen too often.

For those who don't know, Changed Fates is my main OC universe, Featuring the gal in my profile picture as one of six main characters. I've got a blog to keep stuff about it organized at @changed-fates

The world abides by a rule that when a god is killed, 1000 years later, they will be revived

And so, of course, we start 1000 years ago. the god of death seemingly lost it, and went on a rampage, slaughtering many innocents. The other gods of course, couldnt let this continue, so they began charging the [name pending] beam to kill him. Unfortunately, they discovered this plan, and advanced to destroy the other gods location to stop them. The god of Chaos, Conflict, Order, and Peace stood outside the base knowing their location was compromised, and once death arrived the battle could begin.

It seemed like it might be going well for the 4, at least until Death began charging a blast. The only option was to use all of their strongest attacks in hope of knocking them out before they finished charging. And so Chaos, Conflict, and Peace all hit with everything they had, but Order for some reason, defended. This led to them not knocking out death in time, and the blast was unleashed upon the 4, killing them. But before Death could make any progress, the other 2 gods, Emptiness and Existence finished charging the [name pending] beam, and used it to kill death.

After going outside, they discovered Order may not have been killed by the blast after all [thats off camera though, and for later]

Timeskip to present day, A girl wakes up in a world unfamiliar with no recollection of anything other than her name, Taylor.

Meanwhile, within a secret government facility, a robot created for war gains sentience, and breaks out of its containment, escaping from the facility

meanwhile again, a local streamer feels a bit different, though doesnt immediately notice anything.

Nows a good time to introduce characters I think. Refs will be on my refs post cuz i dont have room for them all here lol

Taylor goddess of peace! (She/Her)

Taylor is probably the character of CF anyone is most likely to know about, since she kinda ended up being my sona. She was the first character ive created that I really consider an OC, so she holds a special place in my heart, although she did kinda start as just a genderswapped Tails, shes really become her own character.

She uses a shield in combat, opting for a more protective role than an offensive one like a tank, shes really outgoing as a person, and its often hard to find her without a friend by her side.

Tec The body of Conflict! (He/They)

Tec was my second oc, definetly inspired by Nine from Sonic Prime with his back arms. He sprang from the other side of how I headcannoned Tails, as while Taylor came from the part that was cute and more loving, Tec came from the more "main character energy" I would project onto him.

As could be gathered, Tec is a robot, made for combat by the government, this has of course led to attempts by the government to reclaim him, though always unsuccessful as he has blended into society well. As a robot, they are emotionless, but have learned to feign emotions well after figuring out it allows him to more easily predict other people. He uses his mechanical arms in combat, and typically is a physical damage dealer

Tanner The body of Chaos (He/Him)

Tanner doesnt really have as much backstory when it comes to his creation, he himself is probably one of my less fleshed out characters, though he and Tyde were intended to have the position of chaos before Taylor and Tec were intended to have their roles.

As Mentioned, Tanner himself hasnt actually been too fleshed out yet, (dont tell anyone, but I only even got the idea of him being a streamer whilr writing this) I think though that him just being a normal guy whos life is being affected by the god of chaos does work well in the story. He is in a polyamorous relationship with Rose, Abby, and Quin. He wields a front grip sword in combat, but would take on more of a black mage role.

Tyde Awoken Goddess of Order (She/Her)

Tyde in her first designs was created because I wanted a character who wore a maid dress as their main apparel, she has of course, become much more than that, being the first of two characters decided to be a god. Her position as the Goddess of Order does keep some of her roots though, as she enjoys cleaning, organization, and general order (who coulda guessed)

Tyde, after being left in a coma by the God of Death for several hundred years was kept safe by the gods of Emptiness and Existence, waking up 50 or so years earlier than the other gods were revived. She holds their deaths on her conscience, replaying the scene in her head countless times, beliving it to be her fault that two of her friends and her girlfriend were killed. This leads to her developing a perfection complex, not assisted by her innate want for order, beliving she needs to be perfect or things wont go well. but worst of all, her girlfriend not only doesnt remember they used to be together, but is dating someone else. She wields a staff in battle, and takes on a White Mage like role.

Devi God of Existence (Any pronouns) (why cant there be yellow on tumblr man, just pretend that pink is yellow)

Devi is easily the OC who happened to be in the right place at the right time when it came to position in lore, they started out as one of those characters who is seen to just be seemingly working every job (Ex. Larry, Amazing World of Gumball) but when I needed a 2 more characters to be gods to complete the rainbow, there they were. Im gonna be honest, Existence was probably the hardest one of the 6 to decide, I mean, Order and Chaos go together, Conflict and Peace go together, but what goes after that??? struggles there aside, Devi and Rocket have probably been the most difficult to balance lorewise just because of what exactly they encompass.

Devi and Rocket, as the survivors of Deaths attack, has had to expend a lot of their power over the years to keep the forces of the other 4 gods in check during their absence. as a result of this, they feel an increased level of emotions. They serve an all rounder attacker role in combat, wielding a variety of weapons as their outfit changes depending on the job they are imitating, (Most often seen in Sailor attire) Though I like to immagine them using an Anchor a lot lol.

Rocket god of Emptiness (it/its, but it doesn't really care)

Rocket is probably my most embarassing oc story, being created as an insert over the boyfriend from friday night funkin when I listen to fnf songs and imagine them as my ocs, and like Devi, happened to be in the right place at the right time when it came to roles in the story.

Like with Devi, they had to expend a lot of power to deal with the absence of the other 4 gods, leaving them emotionless, only able to feel them temporarilly when others around them feel strong emotions.They wear sunglasses to hide this lack of emotions, They primarily use their microphone to battle, wielding it like a flail, but they can also copy their opponents weapon. They serve a more supportive role in battle.

Axel The Body of Peace (He/Him) (fox)

Axel started out as a curse that Taylor had put on her named Cursella. This was of course, boring, so he became the one Taylors spirit had to possess to revive, This led to me making him trans.

Axel was a normal guy, he kept to himself for the most part, other than his cousin Quin who he would at time hang out with. But one day, he dissapeared without a trace, no note, no goodbye, nothing. He was left trapped in limbo, only after being fuelled by his hatred for Taylor for taking over his life was he able to speak to her within their mind, which would take a while for the two to sort out because of course Taylor never wanted to take over his body, but Axel just wants her out. After a long time, they reach peace, and when they work together, they reach their final form where they wield a comically large hammer. Axel himself uses a battle axe in combat.

Flick The God of Conflict (He/They) (fox)

Flick doesnt have a creative backstory, they were created to serve this role, but their name is based on the word conFLICKt get it haha

After returning to existence, their soul took over the body of a robot being created by the government for combat, something the soul of something that loves fighting would be drawn to. They tend to take a backseat, but when they do act, they always end up in a fight with Tec, leading to them being incredibly unpredictable in combat as you can never tell what they are going to do. They are a strategist, and are probably the strongest fighter of the cast in a vaccum, however, Tec tends keeps them from doing this as their fighting styles dont work well together. They wield a spear in combat.

Kay The God of Chaos (He/Him) (fox)

same as Flick, their name is based on the word chaos , KAYos get it, also pretty much exist just for this role. Also, I blame @/glitchyk for giving me the name.

Kay as the god of chaos loves creating, well, chaos. even if it tends to be at the expense of Tanner, who unfortunately can quite figure out why hes having lapses of memorry and waking up to things he doesnt remember doing. He wields a sword backhand. In the odd case where the two of them have the same goal, they wield both swords, one in front grip and one in back grip.

Rose The Local Twink (He/Him) / Olivia The goddess of Life (She/Her) (Snow Fox)

Rose was created because I wanted a femboy oc, and also got lucky with timing when it came to lore because I had a god of death, so I needed a god of Life.

Olivia felt terrible after doing nothing while Death rampaged because they couldn't bring themselves to hurt the one they loved, and went into hiding. Years later, they came out of hiding as Rose, keeping anyone from knowing their true form. They live out their days with their lovers, Suspiciously able to help Tanner with his Kay problems better than anyone else. Rose was of course eventually forced to reveal they were the goddess of life, and they wield a bow.

Quin The Local Tomboy (She/Her) (Black Cat)

I dont really remember why Quin was created, but the story wouldnt be the same without them, her name was inspired by the word delinQUINt

Quin is the type of gal to hit first ask questions later, Shes a menace with her bat and she takes no insults, and if you even think about hurting her loved ones she will not hesitate to hurt you. She spends a chunk of the story searching for Axel, before eventually confronting Taylor about it. She is unfortunately for her, the perfect candidate for a vessel of the god of Death, though her strong willpower doesn't make it easy

Crow The God of Death (He/Them) (Fox)

The god of death themself, you would have to ask past me, but I probably made them around the same time Puss In Boots The Last Wish came out, and you can probably see why. The name is because a group of crows is called a murder

Crow used to be a lot more chill, before they lost it and went on a killing spree, and you know what happened after. I cant really say much about what they do post revival because I dont have that section of the story super ironed out like I do the prologue.

Mid Level Importance

Abby (She/Her) (Golden Retriever)(Once again why cant tumblr have yellow)

Once again i forgot why I made Abby lol, but her name is inspired by the person I thought I had a crush on before I realized I was aroace

Abby is an easily exitable gal, and easily hasn't been developed enough as a character. but her role as the person that Order would have taken as a vessel should she have died is important

Sherry The bunny

Sherry was always meant to be Taylors girlfriend, I dont really have a backstory for her name

She is a bit of a girlfail, she likes reading books, not too developed outside of, well, Taylors girlfriend

Characters that dont really matter as much but they exist

Hunter the Sniper (He/Him) (Mouse)

Hunter is an assassain hired by the government to retrieve Tec, He uh, fails, horrendously, and is kinda forced to join the team in exchange for Tec not... killing him. He wields a sniper rifle

A.V.A. The Ai (She/it) (Ai)

I made her cuz I wanted Tec to have a lil goober as an Ai lol, her name stands for Artificial Virtual Assistant

She doesnt really have a huge role in the story, but her position as Tecs assistant is very important

Carrie the postwoman (She/her) (bird)

Names a play on Mail carrier

Carries mail, pretty simple

Fifi The Barrista (She/Her) (Doggo)

her name is a play on coffee

Shes a tired barrista, hates her job.

Ok thats the characters done, but not really

see, theres a reason Tyde defended instead of attacking.

The Player

Thats right the player has an impact on the world. They dont say we changin fates for nothin

She watches over the timelines from the white space, and so when something deviates from the intended path, she notices immediately and watches over the adventure.

Firstly - where have I been? Work REALLY picked up in a way I wasn't expecting over the last...4 months? I was working double and often triple the hours I was used to. With work, vacations, random illnesses, and many video games I got a bit too obsessed with, this blog took a backseat. Plus, sometimes I get disinterested in vore when obsessed with something else. Sometimes, that lasts months, and it did this time.

But now I can confirm that work will FINALLY chill for a long period of time. I'm free! And more motivated than ever! Wahoo! Thanks for your support ALWAYS.

Next big question - when am I going to do more of my story? The one with Asyr? AHHHHHGHHGHH this story has consumed my life. I think about it daily. I dream about it. And yet I'm not as comfortable writing as I am drawing, so writing is a slow process that my perfectionist ass struggles with. I can assure you that there is a story in the works - and I am working on it at a snail's pace.

We're going back so far that I think this is about my naga oc (which I'm in the midst of redesigning cough cough). For him, he would never tolerate being prey, extremely unwilling bahaha. In general, I haven't thought much about naga or snake prey! I get the appeal of slurping up a noodle, but I just prefer human prey :)

I. Am. In. Love. With. Bellamy. nerdy question, but what are his stats?

OH MY GOD THIS LOVELY ASK IN MY INBOX FROM SO MANY YEARS AGO!!!! This is a billion times late but I will answer now as an excuse to start talking about My #1 Guy again!!

For current art-related context, Bellamy is my oc who ive been writing for 7 years alongside my bestie/housemate, @jacobin, who writes Indrejk, Bellamy's other half/other main character, and love interest/best friend/antagonist. We've written a billion and 50 original aus for them but recently really got into FFXIV together, and Salem came to me and said, 'I want to write a comic about them as viera bunny boys' and that was how PAWS UP came to be.

SO it's been like, 6 or 7 years since I played Bellamy in the dnd campaign he was originally part of (Curse of Strahd!!), that era of Bellamy still holds a special place in my heart. We got up to level 6 and did maybe two dozen sessions before my DM (who is now my said bestie/housemate/cowriter) had to put it on hiatus because of stuff, but because we loved the characters so much (Bellamy and Indrejk, his god, who was their oc-turned-pantheon-member), we just... kept working on them as original characters loosely still tied to the original dnd campaign, until eventually we took them into a completely original new setting and plot. We've never been able to settle on a name for this story, but we call it 'Canon,' and it's the ultimate expression of our writing and storytelling that maybe one day will finally get to come out of the basement and into the light of perception.

ANYWAY thats the backstory of how he was made as a character! He's very different now, in aesthetics, in vibe, in personality, in the atmosphere of the original story he's the deuteragonist/main pov in, but I still hold a special place for OG dnd Bellamy in my heart. He was originally super Bloodborne inspired, as we agreed to make a cast of super gothed up characters for the game and I was playing it at the time. He was the party's 'healer'/sub dps Grave Cleric, and I rolled him as a sun elf + Unearthed Arcana Revenant subrace. His character vision was that he was an robotic and disconcertingly alien plague doctor who would never take off his mask, and the players, both in-game as their characters AND! out-of-game as players, would have no idea what his true appearance/fantasy race was until it was revealed in game or they guessed the truth: that he was an undead revenant ghost that puppeted an empty plague doctor suit. 😈

I thought the idea of a grave cleric (who were RAW flavoured as seeing undead as abominations that must be slain and returned to the afterlife) who was actually an undead ghost trying to exist in secret among the living, was a really interesting archetype oxymoron.

what got you into proshipping? -- politics. i started educating myself on marxism, dialectical materialism, i realized that pushing towards censorship is a conservative view, that in practice its the most disenfranchised members of society that get censored--people of color, trans women, queers of any flavor. in a world where the definition of pedophilia is getting expanded to include open trans women in florida, im not comfortable equating the exploration of dark fiction with child abuse. theres real world political impacts to this pedojacketing shit that harms the oppressed before the privileged, and im not taking part in it. also--we should normalize discussion of dark topics, in order for victims to feel safe processing their traumas--theres a lot of traumatized people stuck in anti circles who are too afraid of admitting the complicated truths of their trauma because the mere discussion of dark topics is such a deep taboo. theres a lot of social and political benefits to destigmatizing discussion. also i became staunchly pro-kink for about all the same reasons as i mentioned before, and in my mind kink & dark self shipping is basically in the same boat--imaginative play with dark themes & power dynamics.

what got you into selfshipping? -- friends! i mean, i always enjoyed daydreaming about my favorite characters, but i didnt realize there was a community to partake in until my pals got me into it. thank you lav ^_^

who is one of your your first/oldest f/os? -- good question! i mean, theres the characters ive adored since childhood that i spent my time daydreaming about, maybe even making ocs for--flippy from happy tree friends was probably the first character i properly self shipped with before realizing what self shipping even was cuz i was like, 9... but i had made ocs id project onto. the first few characters i decided to call my f/os--when i was first introduced to the self shipping community--will graham & herobrine, though i dont really self ship with herobrine & not sure if i ever truly did, i just liked him ^_^

9. who is a f/o you want more content of? -- not too sure! i have a couple that dont have a lot of content, but im not too pressed about it--mr robot, from mr robot, is a character i really really really like but the fandom doesnt explore him in the ways id like for it to. hilbert from w359 could definitely use some more content that appeals to me, im a little picky about my interpretations of podcast characters though.

14. do you prefer romantic, platonic, or familial f/os? -- my familial f/o's have always meant the most to me & have brought me the most comfort. crowley from supernatural most of all. supernatural as a source has been deeply important to me in many ways. and then theres lucas baker from re7, who hits the sweet spot between romantic & familial both! which is a very very awesome spot for an f/o to be. i need more incestuous f/os in my life i think itd fix me whats kinda funny about platonic f/o's, if i like them enough they either start branching into romantic territory or familial territory eventually. like a few other spn characters, like kevin who i started crushing on, and um. jack. who. um. Well we're kind of incestuous. thematically. It was unavoidable. jack kline parallels me too much and his (biological) dad is grooming me so. It happens. we started having some kind of codependent sibling incest even before i accepted that im proship. it was unpreventable. Love you jack kline forever

13. do you create self inserts to be more like you, or an idealised version of yourself? -- it depends on how im feeling/who im feeling like when i get into the source/make my s/i! or, depends on the source and how it makes me feel. of course my spn self insert is pretty idealized, yet true to myself and my emotional complexes--fallen angel turned demon, but is still pretty bad at being a demon. and my re7 self insert is pretty true to my teenage self while being very much inspired by who i am today at 23. kind of an homage to the teenage self i couldve been if i was less lost in my identity. the self inserts i made for media i got into 2020-2022 are pretty different from the self inserts i make in 2024, because im just a different person. each self insert is kind of a snapshot of a person i once was/used to be/used to want to be. ive got a couple self inserts that are more idealized than others, like an au version of my spn self insert that gains her angel status back--very confident, reclaiming her femininity, revenge against abusers--a type of person i once looked up to, but i dont really idolize her the same way i once needed to. im always ever growing & so are my self inserts--ive got trans men, cis women, butch dykes-- all self inserts are versions of me ive been or can be

my feelings about fo4 romances thus far

ive done all of them except piper and danse i think. i have both planned but haven't achieved them yet. i know one major thing about danse's development but have no idea what happens after the discovery of the thing comes out and have even less idea why so many people are into him so I'm hoping I will Learn

currently i feel like im just being followed around by a domineering buzz lightyear. he's... nice enough if you do things he likes...? he's supportive. but I have yet to get any personality out of him other than "soldier" and I'm guessing that's probably the point, so maybe there's a side of him I haven't seen yet. i really want him to get the hell out of the power armor though it is so unnerving having him stomping after me in the middle of diamond city. like. boy calm down for one minute we are going shopping. if he stays in the fucking power armor for his "waking up beside you" animation i am going to actually lose it

ive romanced hancock twice and had to talk myself out of doing it again on a third file. this man is my weakness. i would do anything for him. his romance lines are so sweet he makes me cry. perfect. no notes. the way he's threatening and dangerous but only when someone deserves it, and so soft and loving to you? rough and a lil bit fucked up, a lil bit nasty, but so calm and comforting and supportive to you? kills me. destroys me. my comfort character is a fucked up chem addicted radioactive ghoul who wears a 500 year old coat every single day of his life and might've lost a toe somewhere

cait's honestly feels so weird to me. it's like her personality just totally changes. she goes from being rough and sarcastic to "anything for you my treasure :) my heart is yours my beloved :)" and it doesn't feel like character development so much as just like. character flattening. it was actively putting me off spending time with her anymore. its like its not her. do you get me. does anyone feel this. i havent seen anyone talking about cait that much honestly so i have no idea

i never really got why people are so into porter gage until i went through his romance and he's still not really my type but like, i get it now. the "man don't make me talk about feelings and shyit. we're... we're great! you know THAT. :/ " is so cute. i wish there was a redemption arc/reformed raider option for him because i feel like he had potential for growth that he just wasn't allowed to realize. underdeveloped but he is a DLC character so i guess that's how it goes

maccready is also kinda dangerously close to "personality changed completely when romanced" but it feels at least less jarring than cait's. maccready reads to me as a person who is actually quite sentimental and sweet but has become jaded/has to act tough to fit in/to protect himself and he's taking his walls down for you. he's another one that still isn't really my type but i Get It Now. his little toy soldier thing still gets me every time. speaking my exact love language of "here is a little thing that is important to me and i want you to have it and think of me." i respect maccready enjoyers

saw you mention the scavengerverse and i got curious,, what's your favorite thing about it? ^^

hello and thank you so much for the ask!!!!!! i will also use this ask as an opportunity to pitch scavengerverse in general since i havent posted much concrete details about it yet haha

so first, a brief introduction since most of its development has been offline thus far, but anyway scavengerverse is the name @llatimeria and i gave to our superheroes+villains oc headworld that originally centered around my boy vinny, also the masked hero known as The Scavenger. he, along with many others in the original cast, are, basically, humans with genetically modified animal hybrid traits that are, you guessed it, escaped (or otherwise originiated from) a dubious science lab.

vinny, for example, has bearded vulture dna, as well as being part of the approximately 1 in 4 population of human-animal hybrids that have awakened superpowers. his superpower is the power of flight, but that is technically entirely coincidental to him having giant bird wings (there are other human-bird hybrids with wings that cannot fly, bird wings cannot support a human body in flight on their own. flight powers can manifest regardless of which specific animal dna)

the vinny angle on scavengerverse was conceptualized back in 2018, revisited during uhhh 2021? and in like 2022-on, latimer and i have been fleshing the hell out of all the other characters, and incorporating blorbos past with new life here in scavengerverse. on that note unfortunately we might have a bit of a homestuck cast type situation going on in that regard. but thats okay because its actually really fun to have a project without a single defined core protagonist group, and trying to make a cohesive and effective storyline while navigating that challenge

all this to say, as far as answering your question: my favorite thing about scavengerverse is that this is the first time ive been able to have complete and absolute fun with the creation and ideas we're putting into this. even tlh (the last human, my previous main sci-fi oc headworld) got concepts toned down when i thought i was being too silly with it. at one point niyt was going to be forced to operate a mecha, and it was going to be so cool and dramatic and gihr would have to like climb the mecha to save them and it wouldve been so cool. but i was like Nah.. thas too silly. the mecha thing really comes out of nowhere, it's clearly been included just for the rule of cool. so basicly. whay if Nobody take me seriously . because i added a cool robot scene without good enough reason

But so now, with scavengerverse- well, i haven't had any particular ideas in mind for introducing a minor mecha component to sv yet, but if i ever do, we're actively making the kind of world where, yknow what, Yeah, there probably would be at least some mecha action, happening somewhere in this world, at some point - so sure, why not here, and now, within the story actively being explored?

and like, this story started with misunderstood escaped lab experiments with cool powers, so sure, why not go ahead and add whatever else is fun to play with - we've added witches, aliens, devils, psychics, a mafia, hell even one of our biggest oc blorbos right now in our biggest oc blorbo ship came from me re-reviving my old as fuck bisharp oc, from back when i roleplayed pokemon on deviantart in like fucking 2011. it is never too late to return to the playground my friends 🧡

People familiar with my Transformers OCs will recognize Flinch, and the newer ones will, hopefully, have a vague awareness of my FF7 OC Valerian.

Flinch! MA BOY! (Going with the Unicron Trilogy -mainly Armada- here)

🩹 - Someone who was a source of trauma

Fucking Unicron.

Like, seriously, not only did that fucker possess him, but he also left him mentally scared enough, that Flinch lost some of his happy-go-lucky demeanour. Growing more paranoid and scared as the story progressed, until he refused to recharge all together.

Adding to that, Flinch also secluded himself from his family by shutting himself into his room or staying out for longer than usual.

He did get better, yes, and regained some of his happy-go-lucky personality, but by the time Cybertron rolls around, my boy’s having the worst of times again.  

🗑️ - "It's complicated"

His dad.

Flinch has a very complicated relationship with his dad. Not because Primus is the god of all Cybertronians, and all that jazz, but rather because he has been absent for most of Flinch’s live and he doesn’t know how to deal with that. Like, it’s great that he gets to know something about his actual parents, but why does it have to be mech that’s not only God, but also the planet they live on?

Primus sure enough causes Flinch some kind of existential crisis.

💎 - Chosen family (including warband)

The Minicon pair that adopted Flinch, when they stumbled upon him, and all the other Minicons they found on their way through the galaxy.

They might be all broken from the war they were forced to fight in, and try to hide their more evil deeds from the sunshine that’s Flinch, but damn it all, if they aren’t a good family.

Also, It’s pretty much a fact that @tachyon-omlette's Eda didn’t have a choice, when Flinch decided that he was prime Dad-Material. Eda might not see it, but Flinch wouldn’t trade him for anything in the world/galaxy. (If the topic of custody would ever come up, Flinch would choose Eda over Primus any time.)

🩹 - Someone who was a source of trauma

I want to say the scientist who made him, but IV was a bigger source of trauma than them.

I went more into detail in that story I wrote, but IV’s presumed death at the hands of some unknown foe/the facility staff left Valerian traumatized to a point, where he even avoided the single though of dreaming about the outside world.

After all, IV dreamed of what was behind the walls they knew, and when he was taken outside, he never returned. And despite Valerian’s memories of his brother being good ones, him never coming back made them bitter. To a point, where he can’t even fall asleep without holding something to ground him.

🗑️ - "It's complicated"

I am tempted to say, “Everyone he meets”.

Valerian spent too much time isolated from humans that weren’t facility staff/scientist, so, meeting people who aren’t out to harm him is a little weird, dare I say scary in some strange way.

Like, he knows that they aren’t going to hurt him, as long as he doesn’t give them a reason to, but at the same time, kindness is rare. Especially in grown-ups that glare at you, whenever you try to carefully walk around them, or yell at you for getting into their way.

He will get better over time, especially when he finds people who care about him, but strangers will always make him feel complicated.

Another person would be his father/the person he calls “DNA-Donor”. Valerian is still young and has spend most of his freedom traveling with a robot cat, before living with his creator. So, meeting the man who’s DNA was used to create him awakens many complicated feelings. Especially in the “Do I call him dad, or not? He never really showed any signs of caring for me…” side of things. It’s definitely something he and Vincent have to work on. But hey! Valerian’s around 14 when they meet, so, they have the rest of their lives to do so!

The Cait Sith that found Valerian in his cell/room, and Reeve. No fighting over that.

Cait was the first person/robot, who wasn’t IV, that ever showed compassion towards Valerian, and the boy grew attached. I mean, why else would he follow the cat over all of Gaia like a lost chocobo-chick? That’s both his emotional support robo-cat and his caretaker.

Reeve came later, when both showed up on his doorsteps. Drenched by rain and muddied from a tumble down a cliff. They haven’t left ever since.

thinking a bit more abt alicia

(note: this’ll probably be updated but ive been working on this for a while and just want it to be DONE. Also i have NOT spellchecked this so apologies for any mistypes or incorrectly spelled word's (and grammar), but i am happy with it right now so here :3)

Small Overview: Alica ‘Cheetah’ Norris is my rainbow 6 siege oc. She’s a three speed one armor attacker and her ‘skill’ is a dart gun (the darts have a agent in them that causes temporary paralysis)

Small information thing that i dunno how to title: She’s 5’6, uses she/they, and is mixed (Latina/white, but she grew up in a mostly white American family so she’s not really in touch with her heritage).

Weapons: unsure what weapon she’s gonna use specifically but probably an assault riffle of some sort. Extremely unsure on secondary and gadgets (though probably flashbangs or frags)

Background/Past Experience Revamp: as ive said before, she’s a hostage negotiator. Except im changing her background quite a bit (she was part of the American ATF as a field agent before becoming a hostage negotiator but upon further research, she was part of SWAT (after a few years of being a patrol officer) after failing to get into the FBI and, despite how many of her instructors viewed her as mildly incapable due to ✨crippling anxiety✨(shes just like me fr), she managed to prove that she was in fact highly competent and able to defuse situations without too much training prior hence how she became a hostage negotiator at the age of 25 (shes older now so yay (EDIT: was reading over it and noticed i put 35 instead of 25 so sorry about that!)) and, despite not being military fbi, her skills on the field caught Rainbow’s attention, hence how she got in).

(fun fact: most of her scars actually come from setting up barbed wire, she hasnt had a lot of experience with it so she ended up cutting up her hands and lower arms when trying to learn it.)

Personality Revamp: While she’s still incredibly anxious, I’ve made her way more capable on the field. While off the field, she’s quite literally the definition of a ball of anxiety with legs, on the field the adrenaline steadies her nerves and throws her into the correct headspace to fight, though it’s kind of like a light switch. One moment she’s quietly freaking out and the next she appears completely calm and is talking strategy.

Counters: i dunno why ive just been thinking about this quite a bit 😭 Kure - I mean. She operates 2 robots. Im not an expert on robotics (far from it, i literally want to become an air traffic controller DO NOT QUOTE ME ON ANYTHING I YAP ABT) but im pretty sure that they’d be immune to a dart of paralytic fluid (unless maybe Alicia hits it in the right spot, and even then it’d be damaging the actual robot). Doc - Kind of in the sense that his stim pistol can reduce the affect of the dart (especially on himself) but im not 100% on this yet. Fenrir - This is more ‘lore’ based than game based but I imagine that Fenrir’s dread mines affect Alicia’s performance (aka exacerbating her already present anxiety). I was thinking about it and thought that the idea of Alicia nerfing herself via failed reloads would be really interesting! And then the idea that Fenrir’s dread mines (since they affect the mind for a short period of time) exist, what if Alicia has a chance of failing a reload while in the affected area, the chance increasing the longer one spends in the area.

Relationships: (Alicia is AroAce so none of these are romantic :3) Quite literally terrified of 90% of people on base. Most notably all the Russians, Zero, and Ash. She’s friendly with Blitz and Mozzie and acquainted with Fenrir (mostly due the fact that she has enough confidence in his loyalty to Rainbow) and Doc as she’s part of Wolfguard and likes being semi-acquainted with her team leader. (She is trying to expand the amount of people she’s acquainted with but it’s kinda hard when you’re scared of most everyone.)

Backstory: Okaaay Alicia’s backstory wasn’t really defined in the past but since my writing skills are better now, im working on it a bit more :D

Alicia was adopted by her parents (she doesn’t know her bioparents nor does she have any real interest in finding them) when she was 4. Her parents, however, were killed in a hit-and-run incident when she was 12, her aunt (Aurelia Norris)) then took custody of her (fun fact: both Aurelia and Alicia have poliosis!).

At the age of 18, she went into college for a degree in criminal psychology. After receiving her degree, alicia applied to her local police department (and the FBI but she was rejected, obviously), managed to become a patrol officer, and eventually joined SWAT where she proved her ability to defuse hostage situations in a pinch (despite almost everyone not believing it due to the fact that alicia was incredibly jumpy and panicky) hence her promotion of sorts to a crisis negotiator (that mostly focuses on hostage situations).

at the age of 32, she caught the attention of a few rainbow recruiters and after a bit of digging, she wasn’t considered for recruitment. It was only a year later when Rainbow was working with her unit and they finally got to see her operate, hence how she, after being recommended by her commanding officers, ended up in Rainbow.

Of course, there was a very large gap between her and the others as she was a crisis negotiator from a random ass town in who the fuck knows where (not me, thats for sure) America while these guys are the best of the best of their respective militaries (She does always try to keep up but she’s still a little behind on a few things) and that combined with her anxiety around change and these new people just kinda left her as a outsider (not that she really minded. It hurt sometimes, sure, but she already didnt talk a lot so..).

Callsign: Alicia got her callsign (Cheetah) from her speed, mostly. Cheetahs, while fast, are incredibly anxious, hence why people thought it was a good idea. Alicia hasnt really ever had a callsign so she just kinda rolled with it because what else was she to do. (She’s still not the most experienced with military culture and whatnot)

I am prepared to face the Concequences

Aight, gonna try to keep it brief for the sake of my hands.

we're going over my ocs for the main story ive been working on, i have many, MAAAAANY others

keep reading because this is gonna be long

The main character of the story is a mysterious man known as "The Inventor", a man who looks wayyyy older than he is, dude is in his late 40s and has paper white hair, and a constant gray stubble. he's about 5'9 and often wears a dark green coat (very ragged) long stained khaki pants (very ragged as well) and a gray shirt (surprisingly clean). he also wears a small brown satchel over his shoulder that he stores his foragings in. Initially in the story he is homeless, appearing in the city where the first part takes place three months ago, with no prior memory. He soon discovers a small key located next to the disabled husk of a robot (another character) which gives him access to a mansion.

most of his compatriots call him Mr. I. He is also (big part I forgot to mention) a master inventor (Hence the name) he knows how to repair, enhance, and create fully sentient robots, along with very advanced gauntlets that allow him to fly (rocket arms are sweet) and house his most powerful and god defying technology, the soul capture. When he dies, his soul leaves his body, however, due to the violation of the laws of nature, he invented nanobots that physically grab his soul, repair his body, and shove his soul back in.

Backstory(INSANELY SHORTENED): The reason why he's so strange and does not remember much is because his old soul got ripped out of his body and turned into a ghost. He used to be a man named.... okay so im working on the name it used to be timothy Alderstone (keeping the last name) but i want to change it to something more professional than Tim. He used to be the head of robotics and mechanical design at The Mayweather Research Institute, though one day his boss got contacted by the manifestation of pure evil, and was inspired to create chemical weapons that literally kill your soul. Alderstone found out about this and could not bear to have these released (also found out that the gods are real) so he went a bit silly, concocting a plan to evacuate everyone but him and the boss, then blowing up the building to destroy the weapons. when he did this, a bit of the soul killing gas got into his room, and along with the explosions, knocked his soul out of his body, but left the original form moving and alive. This body became the inventor (new soul type beat) and Alderstone is still out there vying for control over his original body.

Next Character is Jay. Jay is a nickname for his (admittedly silly) original name of JudgeBot. Jay is a very large (14 or so feet) robot who was designed as part of the CURFEW program (Creation of Utility Robots For Extreme Warfare (also really silly name but in universe nerds made it up)) He was designed to be Judge(hence the name) jury and executioner on the battlefield. He and CiCi (meet him later) were both deployed on the front of the southwestern united states during essentially a war of testing new technological developments. after the war, he and CiCi were seperated, CiCi was taken to a warehouse deep in the deserty areas of the southwest, and Jay was sent to a dump in the city of Mayweather, though never was scrapped, essentially a graveyard. He was found by Mr. I at the beginning of the story, and after repairs, the two became fast friends. Jay is a jolly fellow, with a deep booming voice, and a friendly personality. He likes taking care of his friends and protecting those he cares for, though he does take it too far sometimes, often self sacrificing due to his low self worth and idolization of others.

He is (as mentioned) 14 feet(about) tall, and he is made of entirely brass. His left hand is able to switch to a chaingun (think doom 2 style) and he is powered by steam. The man absolutely despises cold weather as it causes his internal systems to freeze. imagine if YOUR blood got frozen over, you'd hate the cold too! As one of the two war machines made from the MRI, he is very powerful in combat, though it is often his last resort.

That one was shorter, eh? next is CiCi, who i imagine to be the shortest.

CiCi, another robot of the CURFEW program, he was created earlier into the program's lifespan, and therefore is less advanced, but still a marvel of engineering. He is slightly taller than Jay, and is much less mentally stable due to years of isolation in the warehouse he was trapped in (also the god of pure evil that lives in his brain but shhhhh) He was created as a sort of "Berserker" type combatant on the battlefield, reflected in his own personal weapon, that of a chainsaw arm on his left hand. it is similarly retractable, but he is much quicker to anger and more eager to use violence. His first appearance in the story is when Jay and Mr. I go to rescue him from the warehouse, where they find him out of fuel (gas powered) after reactivating him, they upgrade his system to run on rechargeable solar batteries. he dislikes indoor areas and caves for this reason. he is a less kind soul to strangers, and often puts up a wall emotionally as he feels he has to be strong for those around him, specifically Jay. This is a bad coping mechanism for him, and sometimes he completely shuts down, both emotionally and physically, the emotional overload can cause him to black out. Because of this and his refusal to seek help, he stays rather stoic for fear of failing in his most vital moments.

So chums, that was a short run down of my little dudes! didnt want to spoil too much for the future stories i plan to write. if people liked this one i might do other posts like this for my other ocs in other stories.

IVE ANSWRRED THIS BEFORE but i have many favorites so idgaf i will post facts about barb or barbara! I will tell both, lore wise and fun facts if u dont mind

LORE WISE:

Barb was created on 2019-2020 she was just a random oc that was inspired toys that i had as kid which was those barbie phones.. which yes, she is a toy phone

Barbara does a job, she is a idol singer and dress designer. She don't work as much as dress designer though but can sure you in future wise she will work in a cafe's (those japanese ones)

She can speak japanese and korean, though she don't use that language (korean) too much which it makes her have struggles while speaking.

While we know barb is a robot she have a weird addiction for the candies. Which yes it could crash her system due sugar overload, and ""die"" for that. She is not careful what she does or what she consumes

Barbara had and still have some crisis, maybe suicidal thoughs about herself. Is not like she does on purpose but is still here

Talking about the crisis, she would ask you about the death itself or how it feels to be hurted by someone. She almost had been killed by Cindy a doll who is the antagonist in this tiny story, which her system doesn't let her to remember it due the pstd attack

Due to the pstd attack, she believes she didn't had trauma despite being hurted 7-10 times already (this include being hurted by 707 but that's another story. LMFAO) that's why she consumes a lot of candies

She does have a partner and is Rainb her big boyfriend. She calls him always her sunshine due to their past <3

Talking about them, they always would spend time together. No matter what happens, barb wants the one who always protect... But rainb is the one who does the job LOL

FUN FACT:

Barbara used to be 4'11 in her first design 💀💀

She doesn't like tea, or coffee... Driinks juice instead!!! /J

She loves dogs so much, once she had 7 dogs but they all just escaped from her for some reason so she got sad for 1 week

Barbara canonically have autism, BPD and ADHD but she just don't know yet nor know if she really have that or not.

TV man cared about her for a while before realizing she is not a child😭 but is still cute the fact they had some daughter and father bond here :3

She looves kids show!! She would mostly watch Winx, MLP and otherr stuff

*coughs* she loves reading books too, her mostly fav is horror ones even though she looks like the one who reads the kid tales LMFAO

4 Movie of the year? - i watched a lot more movies than usual this year many of which i saw for the first time but i have to be perhaps a bit basic and say v for vendetta it was really very good and the characters stuck with me.......

p.s my oomfies still wont watch matrix 4 with me and i dont know why.

8 Game of the year? - cyberpunk 2077 obviously (but i didn't play many other like. long or high budget games this year. and most of the rest of any sort of game i played were forgettable. sorry). some will know ive been following this game (and then spending some time researching the setting and lore as a whole) since the very first trailer in 2013 so its special to me that i finally got to play it and that so much of it is so Made For Me :tm: its a bit crazy

25 Did you create any characters (in games, art, or writing) this year? Describe one - im not a huge oc guy but i had a lot of fun with fallout 4 ocs. CUH RIIINNNNGGEEE i know but it helped me not disintergrate into gore at my old job so its a win in my book. i made a new player character and made up a story for him and my existing fo4 mc, they are both old models of institute synths made to study their intergration into the rest of society and all of their memories and sense of self before the game were fabricated. one of them discovers this about herself and goes fully awol (far harbour dlc) and the other finds this out and he fully sticks with and backs up the institute. the exist in the same 'world' so they could meet but i never got far enough to consider that lol, they also look very similar, with the concept that the appearances of the synths used in this experiement were all based on a particular random real persons appearance. the idea of them being older models is that they could still have uncanny robot parts juxtaposed against the realistic human appearance. i sketched and wrote a lot about this but its all lost to time as i did all of this on receipt paper at said old job

ooooooo but which one,,,,,,,,I think I'll talk about one of my Rien Eclipse guys, since I havent talked about them on here in a while! As for which one, Ive been able to talk about Telley and Diara a bit more, so I'll do Xavier! Xavier Yazma is Telley's adoptive younger brother, someone who prides himself on being knowledgeable and objective, the calm and collective one of the group. This isn't always the case, though, as he often lets his emotions get in the way of his though process, Especially when he's trying to impress those he looks up to. Xavier was someone born without any special powers or abilities, which, in the world of RE, is rough. As a child, however, he ended up stumbling upon some old and abandoned technology that was being designed to enhance those without powers. Unfortunately, he got too close to one that was still functioning despite its age, which latched onto his face and embedded a robotic visor over his eyes and into his brain. Should the visor ever break, it is very likely it will kill him. which is fun

FIRE EMBLEM AWAKENING BABYYYYYY love fe:a!! Great cast of characters, fun gameplay loop, fantastic ost, its so good. its not perfect by a long shot, but man, its just a really solid game.

My total playtime on my main character in FFXIV is 16 days, 10 hours, and 8 minutes. Or, 384 hours! Which isnt the most (ive put more time into other games) but its still not half bad
