Tumblr media
Gareth West, CEO of Ketchup Entertainment, said today: “We’re thrilled to have made a deal with Warner Bros. Pictures to bring this film to audiences worldwide. Coyote Vs. Acme is a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern storytelling, capturing the essence of the beloved Looney Tunes characters while introducing them to a new generation. We believe it will resonate with both longtime fans and newcomers alike.” Directed by David Green and written by May December scribe Samy Burch, the film is produced by Chris deFaria and DC Studios co-boss James Gunn. The filmis based on the Looney Tunes characters and the New Yorker humor article “Coyote v. Acme” by Ian Frazier. Will Forte, John Cena, Lana Condor and Tone Bell star in the movie, which follows Wile E. Coyote, who, after Acme products fail him one too many times in his dogged pursuit of the Roadrunner, decides to hire a billboard lawyer to sue the Acme Corporation. The case pits Wile E. and his lawyer (Forte) against the latter’s intimidating former boss (Cena), but a growing friendship between man and cartoon stokes their determination to win.

A/n: this is loosely based on the scene from the office with Pam and her mom, talking about Jim.
No warnings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Mom!" You squealed eagerly as you ran up to your mother, pulling her into a tight embrace.
Your mother's head tipped back as she laughed, just as eager to see you as you were.
You opened your eyes and pulled back, looking over her shoulder and seeing your dad enter into your house. You smiled widely as you ran to give him a hug as well.
Your dad laughed, a loud genuine laugh that made it clear he had missed you and was just as happy as you were. He wrapped his arms around you as he placed a kiss on the crown of your head. "Hi sweetie." He smiled, resting his chin on your head.
"You guys finally made it!" You sighed in relief.
Your parents had agreed to stay at your home for a few days, it being the first time since you had moved in. They were eager to see your house and the area you lived in, but also to see and spend time with you.
"Traffic was bad, we came as fast as we would." Said your dad, he brought his and your mothers suitcase into the house, leaving them neatly by the door to bring to their room later.
"Hello mr and mrs y/l/n!" Your boyfriend walked out of the living room and to the main hall where you and your parents stood. He smiled charmingly at the two, eager to make the best impression.
"Hello James." Your mother smiled politely at him, she gave him a quick kiss to his cheek in greeting.
"How are you?" Your dad was next to greet him, he offered his hand for James to shake.
"I'm doing well Mr Y/l/N, I can't complain." James said sincerely. Both your parents nodded and smiled politely.
A series of laughter and friendly competitive arguing suddenly came from the living room, it seemed your friends had finished another round of uno.
Your eyes lit up as you looked between your parents, who looked slightly confused. "I completely forgot to tell you!" You clapped your hands together, "my friends are here, I didn't know what time you guys were coming over at, but I'll let them know you're here, they'll be leaving soon-" you rambled on.
Suddenly your mother seemed very excited, she glanced up at her husband who smiled down at her knowingly.
"No, no, let them stay!" Your mother dismissed, "I want to meet them!"
"Really? Aren't you guys tired from the drive over?" You asked skeptically, unsure if they were being honest or just polite.
Your mother shook her head. "No, we've got a few hours left in us before we're ready for bed." Your dad reassured you.
You shrugged, glancing over to James. "If you guys are sure..."
Your mother smiled once again as she followed you and James into the living room, dragging your father with her who didn't refuse being pulled about.
Walking into the living room you were met with the sight of roughly ten of your friends gathered around the small coffee table, all sitting criss crossed on the carpet floor. There were coaches and armchairs behind them but everyone chose to sit on the floor, wanting to be closer.
On the coffee table there were uno cards stacked messily, some obviously put down in frustration and away from the main pile in the centre. Whilst they argued over people cheating, four of your other friends stood in the joint kitchen, cups of coffee and tea in their hands, the environment far more peaceful then in the living room.
"everyone!" You called over the screaming, "my parents have finally arrived!" You smiled.
Upon your announcement, everyone turned to look at you and your family. The yelling in the living room stopped as your friends turned slightly to look at the unfamiliar faces. Those that had been in the kitchen stepped into the living room to greet the newcomers.
Suddenly the raised voices that had been yelling accusations of cheating and lying, turned into welcoming greetings and introductions. Your friends all smiled and waved at your parents, who reciprocated the action, trying to process all the names that they were suddenly being told.
Your closest friend, Vivienne, walked over from the kitchen and embraced your mother in a warm hug, not having seen her in years. "I've missed you Maria!" She said excitedly to your mother.
"I've missed you too dear!" Your mother said, placing a comforting hand on the back of the younger girls head as she hugged her.
"did you finish building that workshop Jonathan?" Your other friend, Alex, stood from his spot on the floor, walking over to your dad and giving him a good hand shake. Alex had became victim to one of your dads passionate rants over the phone about the workshop he was building, despite never meeting in real life. Although Alex was mostly teasing, your dad smiled at him for remembering.
"its almost finished, I'll show you some pictures." Your dad said, following Alex into the kitchen. Your other friends, Quen, Natalie and Nat followed him. Not because they were any bit interested in the workshop or the pictures he had, but because they loved pestering your dad for stories from when he was in a boy band in the 80s. Especially because they would find ways to tease you about it.
Your dad had a habit of storytelling and reminiscing about the past, a habit your friends more than encouraged.
James soon followed where your dad had went to, always eager for his approval. Something your dad was completely oblivious too.
Some of your friends here had already met your parents and they had gotten close with them which warmed your heart. Your parents were incredibly kind and loved getting to know them.
Vivienne and Odessa stayed chatting with you and your mother, complimenting her outfit and how young she looked, making your mother a blushing mess. When the two girls left to go listen to your dad tell stories, your mother turned to you excitedly.
She leaned in closer, trying to keep her voice down but ultimately failing.
"So, which one is Billie?" She giggled excitedly, looking over at the three other people who were still huddled around the coffee table, tidying the uno cards back up.
Your eyes widened as your face reddened in embarrassment, your mother had spoken so loudly you were sure Billie had heard. "Mom!" You whisper yelled. You glanced nervously over at Billie, her back was towards you and you were relieved to see she hadn't reacted, continuing to pack up the game cards. Maybe she hadn't heard.
"what!" Your mother defended herself, her childish grin still on her face. "I want to finally meet the girl my daughter is always talking about, your father does too. I feel like i know her already from all the times you talk my ear off about her-"
You cut your mother off in embarrassment. "I do not- can we not do this right now?" You mumbled quickly. Your mother was quick to notice your nervousness and blushing face as the corners of your lips lifted slightly into a smile, no doubt you were flustered.
She looked at you knowingly. "Fine, fine." She raised her hands up in surrender, "but we want to meet her."
You rolled your eyes playfully, waving her off as you took a final glance at Billie before walking towards the kitchen. "Go out and stop dad from saying anything embarrassing, I'll get you your wine." You quickly excused yourself, not being able to hide your smile any longer.
You heard your mothers laugh behind you as you walked away.
Little did you know, Billie had heard everything, it was impossible not too. She bit her lip as she grinned to herself, tidying up the uno cards extra slow, wanting to hear more of you and your mothers conversation about her.
"I want to finally meet the girl my daughter is always talking about."
So you talked about her to your parents? Billie's heart leaped at the thought. She felt a blush of her own heat up her face as she put the cards back into the box. She felt giddy and excited at the thought, at the possibility that her feelings for you weren't one sided.
She heard you leave the kitchen and realized she was the only one left inside. Once the uno cards were out back in their original place she began making her way to the back garden where everyone was sitting around on the outside chairs and couches, listening instantly to one of your fathers stories that everyone enjoyed listening to.
Once she walked outside all eyes were on her. It was a feeling Billie had grown accustomed to, being in the public eye for most of her life, but something about feeling your stare on her made her nervous.
She looked over to your mother Maria first, who's eyes sparkled knowingly.
Then she looked to you as you stood from you seat in-between Quen and Odessa. You walked over slowly to her, your sweet scent invading her senses, not that she minded.
A jolt of electricity ran through Billie's veins as you gently placed your hand on her arm. You smiled shyly at her, a smile that meant everything to her.
You looked over to your parents, beckoning them over. "Mom, dad, this is Billie." You said quietly, nervously.
Your moms entire face lit up as she looked between you and Billie.
Quickly she rushed forward, pulling Billie into a warm hug. "Billie, it is wonderful to finally meet you!" The older woman smiled, elated to finally meet her.
"and you mrs y/l/n!" Billie chuckled, relaxing into the woman's embrace, her nerves vanishing.
Your mother pulled away from the hug, frowning playfully at Billie. "Call me Maria." She insisted.
"and you can call me John." Your father walked up behind your mother, pulling Billie into a small hug of his own.
Billie smiled gratefully at their kindness. "Very nice to meet you, John and Maria."
The two parents exchanged pleased smiles, almost a proud look on their faces.
Your parents returned to their seats and a conversation started up again with all your friends, your boyfriend and your parents.
You had to admit from watching that entire exchange you found it weird. James was your boyfriend and yet neither of your parents gave him their wish for him to address them by their first names. Your dad had hugged Billie whilst gave James a courtly shake of the hand, the same with your mother, she had hugged Billie but only gave James a quick peck on the cheek.
You remained standing beside Billie, in a daze of confusion but also relief that everything had gone well and your parents were finally here.
Billie turned to you, leaning in closer to whisper in your ear, "you talk about me to your parents?" She asked mischievously with a smirk, refering to your previous conversation. Obviously she had gained a bigger eggo from your parents enthusiasm and insistence on meeting her.
You felt butterflies in your stomach as you returned to your previous flustered state. You bit the inside of your cheek to restrain your grin. You hated that she had heard that entire conversation, knowing Billie would never let it go. Though secretly you were glad Billie had heard.
"shut up." You laughed making Billie's grin widen.
Knowing you were blushing and not wanting to give Billie more things to tease you about, you turned to walk back to the rest of the group.
Your heart sped up when you felt Billie take your hand in hers, intertwining your fingers and letting you lead her wherever you wanted, her smirk never once falling.

The South Brits have something to say.
New trailer for the upcoming AppletTV+ series SMOKE starring Taron Egerton and Jurnee Smollett.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not only special because that means a return to TV for Egerton, but also because Radiohead's Thom Yorke composed the music for the series, incuding its title track "Dialing In", which can be heard in the trailer.

-While it will be ways away until we see it on our screens, but series two of Guy Ritchie's THE GENTLEMEN is now filming. Newcomers to the fold include DOWNTON ABBEY's Hugh Bonneville, Benjamin Clementine (who gave a lovely performance in Steve McQueen's BLITZ), Michele Morrone (who went on a sneering IG rant last week about his fellow Italian actors), Maya Jama and everyone's favourite Cardinal, CONCLAVE's Sergio Castellito.
-THE GENTLEMEN's Theo James has been one of the names people have kicked about as their dream future James Bond
And he wears swimwear as well as Daniel Craig,
Tumblr media
but the actor believed to the be the next Bond is Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
I'd personally rather upcoming Mr. Darcy; Jack Lowden (who is expecting a child with wife Saoirse Ronan) to be the next Bond,
Tumblr media
but I am not opposed to a Taylor-Johnson Bond. And considering Barbara Broccoli (Michael Wilson) ceded the Bond to Amazon, to me this feels a departure from the prestige feel of Bond and more down in the dirt (i,e cheap) so this is a good fit. Do I see debonair spy when I see Aaron Taylor-Johnson? No. Do I see Royal Naval Reserve Commander? Yes.
Anyhoo, what gives further credence to notion that Taylor-Johnson is indeed the next Bond because Omega, a long Bond brand has partnered with Taylor-Johnson.

Elvis and Donnie Sumner. C. 1972.
RECORDING SESSION Studio Sessions for RCA December 10–16, 1973: Stax Studios, Memphis The group Voice was becoming a permanent fixture on the Elvis scene. Their deal with the singer included a publishing arrangement, and accordingly they brought songs — their own and those of their friends — to the session. Lamar Fike, watching his territory being encroached upon by the newcomers, was irked. “Who wrote this piece of shit?” Lamar gasped while Elvis was recording a Donnie Sumner tune, “Mr. Songman,” as unadventurous in its way as anything from Freddy Bienstock’s stable of English writers. But Elvis stuck with his new friends (and to the Colonel’s design to increase publishing income), even going to the length of releasing “Mr. Songman” as the B-side of a single. Excerpt: "Elvis Presley, A Life in Music: The Complete Recording Sessions" by Ernst Jorgensen. Foreword by Peter Guralnick (1998)

In late 1973, Donnie Sumner, pictured here second from the right left, along with tenor Sherill Neilson, pictured at the lower left, and Tim Baty, pictured behind Donnie Sumner, formed a new group called Voice.

They've been tasked with 'Adopt a Soldier', a program that organises letters and care packages to soldiers serving overseas. Do Not Count the Candles (But Notice the Light They Give)
He’s disappeared.

Do You Want to Play a Game?
It had been Barton’s idea.
His idea, and his grey eyes crinkled and the corners of his mouth twitched as he looked over at Natasha whilst explaining it. The game, he said, was called Assassins.

Stark, also looking over at Romanoff, grinned. “Continue, Legolas.”

But a wedge of cash turns his head, and suddenly Barnes is forming a man hunt to track down the fella that shot Lewis' father. Only problem is, Barnes isn't the quick draw he used to be, not after that accident.

Anne With An E Rant❤️
Tumblr media
My fav AWAE Season Is Season 3
Moira Walley-Beckett, creator of the show, weaves a tapestry of both the nostalgic and contemporary. The result is a masterpiece, with the idyllic and charming small town life of Avonlea a perfect contrast for the weighty issues the show tackles, issues that are particularly relevant today. The young but talented cast, led by Amybeth McNulty as Anne, Dalila Bela as her best friend Diana Barry, and Lucas Jade Zumann as Gilbert Blythe, bring the story of Anne of Green Gables to life.
Tumblr media
The major theme of the show is its message of acceptance, beginning with titular character Anne Shirley’s struggle to be seen as something other than a ragged orphan who is up to no good.
Tumblr media
When Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert (played by R.H. Thomson and Geraldine James respectively) take Anne into their home, they are unprepared for what’s coming. Her big ideas, matched in size only by her big heart, take the little town of Avonlea by storm at first. But the Cuthberts, along with the rest of the town, soon grow to appreciate Anne’s imagination, creativity, and kindness.
Tumblr media
Not stopping there, Walley-Beckett introduces Queer characters, Aunt Josephine Barry, and Season 2 newcomer Cole (I fucking love him sm), a classmate of Anne’s. When Cole is shunned by his classmates and family for who he is, he contemplates suicide. It is only Anne’s intervention that saves him from a terrible fate. He eventually finds his place living with Aunt Josephine in Charlottetown, a more progressive town than Avonlea.
Tumblr media
Walley-Beckett goes on to bring racial prejudice into the mix as well, with the introduction of Bash, a funny and lovable man who hails from Trinidad, and befriends Gilbert Blythe, Anne’s love interest, while they work aboard a steamer together. Bash goes on to become Gilbert’s business partner, and moves to his farm. It is Gilbert, Anne, and the Cuthberts who make him feel welcome in Avonlea, despite the initial rejection he faces by the rest of the town.
Tumblr media
The fight for women’s equality comes into play as well, in the form of Miss Stacy (MY QUEEN) , the new schoolteacher, whom Anne calls a ‘kindred spirit’. An independent woman with radical ideas, Miss Stacy scandalizes Avonlea by donning trousers and refusing to wear a corset.
Tumblr media
Season three is as funny and charming as it is heartbreaking. Taking place right when Anne turns sixteen and is busy preparing for the Queen’s College entrance exams, the season deals with acceptance once more: of our fellow man, of identity, and of growing up. Anne’s desire to find her birth parents speaks to all of us who have wondered where we come from. Marilla’s fear that Anne will leave her if she finds out about her blood relatives rings painfully true. It is here that Walley-Beckett teaches us that family is family, by blood or otherwise.
Tumblr media
The racial prejudice theme is prevalent once more in Season Three. Bash, his wife Mary, and their child Delphine try to find their place in Avonlea, who is quick to spurn them based on the color of their skin. A new storyline featuring a Native American tribe, the Mi’kmaq, living in the area, sheds even more light on racial issues. The townspeople view them with disdain and fear. Predictably, Anne does not follow their example, and befriends Ka’kwet, a young indigenous girl. (I love their dynamic sm 💕)
Tumblr media
With the Mi’kmaq storyline, Walley-Beckett does not gloss over the more unsavory parts of history, but instead brings things out into the open with Ka’kwet’s enrollment in a new school set up by the government for Native American children. What follows is a glimpse into the shocking events that occurred in that era, with the violent kidnapping of these young children, and their forced assimilation. The school turns out to be nothing short of a prison, where Ka’kwet’s beautiful braids are chopped off, and her Mi’kmaq heritage ripped away from her and her fellow classmates, starting with their being rechristened with English names, and forbidden to speak their language. Ka’kwet eventually escapes, but is taken back by force. Her desperate parents are threatened and shot at when they try to get her back.
Tumblr media
Anne and her classmates stir up controversy in the town when they fight for freedom of the press after Anne writes a strongly worded editorial about equality. When Josie rejects Billy’s sexual advances, he spreads false rumours about her to ruin her reputation. When nobody looks at him as being in the wrong, Anne is indignant enough to write an editorial about the events that occurred. She comments on the double standards that seem to exist when it comes to gender, and the importance of spoken consent. The town board is infuriated, and retaliates by giving the paper a pre-approved list of appropriate topics to write about. They stipulate that the newspaper will be shut down unless they follow these guidelines, and fire the instigator of the controversy, Anne, from the paper. I'm proud that Anne did this.
Tumblr media
Anne brings her classmates together to protest, and in a moving scene, they stand together, mouths gagged by handkerchiefs, and silently hold up a hand painted sign emblazoned with their message: Freedom of speech is a human right.
Tumblr media
With this storyline, Walley-Beckett succeeds in addressing many of the issues we discuss today; freedom of speech, media censorship, consent, and gender equality, all without seeming too forced or unrealistic. There is no magical solution for all the problems, but small triumphs recognized as steps to making a major change that the world will one day be ready for. It is richly satisfying and simultaneously accurate for the time period, as women back then still had a long way to go in the fight for equality.
Finally, Anne and her classmates face their biggest challenge: entering the adult world, and dealing with the heavier problems that comes along with. Plans for the future are discussed, preparations made, and farewells exchanged. Matthew Cuthbert struggles to deal with Anne’s leaving for college, a familiar concept to any parent. Anne is left with second thoughts about leaving Green Gables, and cries in Marilla’s arms for the childhood she leaves behind. Diana Barry, meanwhile, makes the decision to attend Queen’s College, rebelling against her parents’ plans for her to go to finishing school in Paris. The right to and the importance of education for women as well as men is addressed here. Diana is eventually successful, and comes to join her classmates at Queen’s.
And finally, Gilbert and Anne confess their feelings for each other. They wave goodbye to each other as they go off to their respective schools, and the credits roll at last.
Tumblr media
With all the topics Anne with an E fearlessly broaches, it is as surprising as it is dismaying that the show has been canceled. The season ended off with hints of a burgeoning romance between Miss Stacy and Bash, a multi-racial couple, and the beginnings of a possible public exposing of the nefarious nature of the indigenous school.
Tumblr media
Ka’kwet is left languishing in the classroom, while her parents set up camp in the nearby woods to wait for an opportunity to get her back.
Tumblr media
We are left with the promise of more that will not come, thanks to the show’s cancellation. Poor viewership was blamed as the cause, though outraged fans have already started petitions to keep the series running. In 2020, with corrupt government, fake news, and a general outcry for change, Anne With An ‘E’, with its messages of acceptance and truth, is more important than ever.
The show had a mere three seasons, consisting of less than 30 episodes, whereas medical dramas like Gray’s Anatomy, and sci-fi shows such as Supernatural, have well over 300 episodes. The Simpsons is in its 30th season, despite declining viewership over the years. But ‘Anne With An E’ is gone. Which leads me to wonder: Is the world not ready to speak about the truth?

Film Review: ‘Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire’
Tumblr media
Ghostbusters is one of my go-to movie franchises. Epic and hilarious are the two words I can use to describe the first movie. The sequel was equally fun and I personally liked Ghostbusters: Afterlife as well (you can have a look here). Predictably, my expectations were through the roof when it comes to Frozen Empire, despite the poorly named title. Although we might not feel the same nostalgic sentiments this time, it’s really quite funny and relatively action-packed. This film does not have the late Ivan Reitman’s nostalgia (it is dedicated to him), but with over four decades of work put into the ghosts, it definitely changed – and so has the crowd-pleasing entertainment.
Arguably the funniest film since the original, Frozen Empire takes a different turn with ghostly features and wit rather than action, combat, or war. It is messier and uneven than pervious installments, but if I had to pick one film filled with side-splitting jokes, it would Frozen Empire – so funny, I couldn’t breathe. Positively, it does “succeed to some degree.” Will the pros outweighs the cons? Wildly yes. Does this mark it as the first sequel with flaws? Of course yes. I still stand by my statements recommending this film, yet I have some lingering issues.
In the aftermath of Ghostbusters: Afterlife events, Phoebe (McKenna Grace), Callie (Carrie Coon), Trevor (Finn Wolfhard), and Gary Grooberson (Paul Rudd) have returned to New York City. Now, they operate out of the iconic firehouse. After successfully capturing a new ghost, Mayor Walter Peck (William Atherton) has once again decided to try and shut down the Ghostbusters. He takes advantage of Phoebe's age by having her benched. In her travels, she meets and becomes friends with a ghost (Emily Alyn Lind). Meanwhile Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) is still running his occult business, and Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) is secretly bankrolling a new research facility on Staten Island to lowkey take the business further with Janine Melnitz (Annie Potts) alongside him. The team is changing, and soon they will need to.
In an episode of Nadeem, Ray is gifted an ancient relic by Nadeem (Kumail Nanjiani), which accidentally summons an ancient evil which has the potential to start a new Ice Age. To combat the catastrophe is the new Ghostbusters Celeste O’Connor‘s Lucky and Logan Kim’s Podcast alongside old timer Bill Murray as Peter Venkman. With all the worried fun that you expect from these newly formed ghost parapsychologists and busters in training.
Even if his role is smaller compared to others, best in show goes to Kumail Nanjiani and he is the comedic highlight. He does a great job in what ultimately turns out to be a pivotal role. Initially, he’s almost just comic relief, but the end he’s a core element. I hope he returns for the potential future installments. Logan Kim and Celeste O’Connor, as it were, had to round off the returning newcomers and they feel a bit tacked on, but we do see some Spengler relationship evolution. Carrie Coon and Paul Rudd as a couple is cute, as is the latter’s almost parental interactions. Although Finn Wolfhard gets much less to do here, McKenna Grace is again more of the star. She is let down by the script (more on that later), but she still acts well. It’s nice to see the original cast back in the roles as Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Bill Murray putting on their proton packs. Other supporting cast include Emily Alyn Lind, William Atherton, James Acaster, who plays one of the research team, and Patton Oswalt among others. I still loved to see him become again a thorn in the side of our heroes.
Kenan now takes over the directing duties and roaring from the console takes over from Jason Reitman. Still, both of them shallered the screenplay. There are a few touching moments and, Kenan's direction is, to put it mildly, uninspired. However, the franchise moments that the fans crave for, are certainly present. Returning cinematographer Eric Steelberg keeps the look from the last flick principally here, albeit now set in New York City. Dario Marianelli takes over as composer and does a fine job. The main issue here is Kenan and Reitman have really solid humor here against a bland villain, as well as a subplot that was better left on the editing room floor.
This sequel does have some nostalgic elements, but it’s also doing its own thing. Some of that works while other elements makes decidedly don't. The subplot of Phoebe and her ghost friend is the worst aspect and makes nearly shifts to the realm of the ridiculous. Some folks definitely won’t like how that element goes down, though. But, the other highlights help ensure that flaw is not too big of an issue. Trust me, when you see it, you will get all of this.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire feels like a sequel to me in the sense that it is also lackluster, but it is still worthy of a recommendation. For the record, will I revisit this film the same way I did with the original? Never. Is this movie as re-watchable as Afterlife is? Not particularly. In any case, this is a fun blockbuster that comes out in spring rather than the summer where it could have, and would have, fit right in. While the film is flawed, it’s still an entertaining blockbuster, which means busting still makes me feel good.

BDI blog fact check
Decided to fact check this blog post. This is a blogger who self-publishes e-books about high-profile cases--with over a million hits, his ideas are very popular online, particularly among some of the moderators of this sub, and I often see them repeated by newcomers to the case. So I thought I would note here a few examples of the blogger massaging the evidence (or even completely misrepresenting the evidence) to make his particular variant of the BDI theory seem a little more plausible.
1: "Camping" Cord
BDI blogger: "The distinctive white camping cord could also be traced to a nearby camping store for which the Ramseys held receipts."
The cord was identified as white Stansport nylon cord. This type of cord was sold at McGuckin's Hardware Store and the Boulder Army Store. The phrase "camping cord" and "camping store" are used nowhere other than on the blog. It's possible the Ramseys bought that cord for camping, but shouldn't really be presented as undisputed fact. The origins of the cord are not known.
2: "Whittled" paintbrush
BDI blogger: "The paintbrush used as a garrotte appears to be whittled."
No it doesn't. Here is an image of the paintbrush pieces. Note the bottom one is the paintbrush from the crime, and the top one is a paintbrush somebody has snapped by hand to demonstrate what a broken paintbrush looks like. Here is another view of one of the pieces. These clearly look like a paintbrush that has been snapped by hand into three pieces. There is no indication that a knife ever came into contact with that paintbrush.
This is what whittling looks like. Here is a nifty whittled design. Here is a whittled dinosaur. Whittling is when you carve a piece of wood into a shape by shaving slivers off it. It is something people do to pass the time and to create little artworks. It is not the sort of thing anybody would randomly decide to do after accidentally killing their sister, and would serve no practical purpose in that scenario. Moreover, there is absolutely no indication that the paintbrush was whittled, as can clearly be seen in the photographs.
3: "Whittled wood" found in genitals
BDI blogger: "A fragment consistent with the paintbrush [of whittled wood] was found in JonBenét’s genitalia"
Again, this is a claim that exists only on the blog. A microscopic particle of "cellulose material" was found in the genitalia. Nobody who worked on the case has ever claimed that it was a shaving of "whittled wood". Experts disagreed over the origin of the microscopic particle, and James Kolar has suggested that it was "consistent" with the wood of the paintbrush.
You may be wondering why this blogger is so determined to connect whittling--a random innocuous pasttime--to this crime. The reason, of course, is because Burke used to whittle sometimes, and the "whittling" connection is one of the BDI Blogger's hot takes on the case.
4: Burke's knife found "near the body"
BDI blogger: "Burke’s knife was found in close proximity in the basement to JonBenét’s corpse in the basement wine cellar"
If you look closely at this sentence, you will see that it is ambiguous. Is he saying the knife was "found in the wine cellar, in close proximity to the body", or that it was "found in close proximity to the body, which was in the wine cellar"? Most people would assume that it means the knife was found in the wine cellar near the body. BDI blogger certainly allows us to draw that conclusion.
But the fact is--police officer Kerry Yamaguchi actually found the knife in a completely different part of that cluttered basement--on a countertop near a sink at the end of the hall. The search warrant later described the knife confusingly as "knife with broken ornament". A broken Christmas ornament was found in the wine cellar, which led some to believe the knife was also found there. But in the crime scene photos of the ornament in the wine cellar, there is no knife. BDI Blogger capitalizes on this confusing state of affairs, to imply that Burke's knife was found at ground zero of the crime--in the cellar, near the corpse. Unless you think Detective Yamaguchi was lying, you must accept that this is more smoke-and-mirrors from the bloggers.
It's worth mentioning that James Kolar and Steve Thomas do not even bother mentioning Burke's knife at all in their books. There is no indication police ever determined that Burke's knife was relevant to the crime in any way.
5: Burke's knife used to create garrote
BDI blogger: "Besides the whittling of the garrotte itself, a sharp knife was used to cut the lengths of cord used to tie JonBenét’s wrists and fashion the garrotte"
Another dubious claim. We have no idea when that cord was cut--in fact, according to a 2016 documentary produced by Lawrence Schiller: "it’s now believed that the wood frame canvases that Patsy Ramsey purchased came wrapped and secured with a piece of duct tape and the rope may have been used to bind canvases together for easy carrying". The cords (which appear to be equal in length and much longer than they needed to be) may have been cut long before they even arrived at the Ramsey home.
Even if the cords were cut that night, we have no information about what implement (if any) was used to cut them. Several knives were found in the home in various rooms, there were scissors and a paper trimmer in the basement laundry as well. It is not known what items were tested for fiber evidence.
6: "Prusik Knot" on the garrote
The garrotte knot is known as a prusik hitch, a typical boy scouts or camping knot.
This guy and his supporters make a big deal about the apparent complexity of the knots, and their association with boy scouting. Again, this is not based on the findings of law enforcement, but on a desire to match up aspects of the crime scene with publicly-known information about Burke Ramsey.
As James Kolar points out, "there was nothing particularly fancy about the knots". According to Kolar, knot expert John Van Tassel determined that they were "standard fare ... The end of the cord wrapped around the the remains of the paintbrush were observed to be concentric loops and ended in a simple hitch that secured the knot in place." '
The notion that these were specialized scouting knots is again not supported by the people who worked on the case.
Conclusion
Watch out for weasel words and ambiguous language. Stick to people who actually worked on the case for information about the investigation--James Kolar, Steve Thomas. It may surprise people to learn how different Kolar's actual theory is to the popular BDI theories on the internet. Don't even get me started on that "toggle rope" BS.
I'm open to the possibility that Burke did it, but I am really not fond of people lazily connecting Burke's hobbies to the crime scene, fudging the evidence as much as they possibly can, and acting as though that is a coherent theory.

Potter faces two options; fix his public image or give up his seat.
