So much Mandalorian lore in here and so many misconceptions being corrected. ✅

Off to watch the linked YouTube video now (because no I don't have anything better to do on a Saturday evening 🤷.)

So question..how the fuck are the clones not Mandalorian when Boba is? When Jango is? Or did Disney decide that they aren’t anymore (Jango and Boba)?

I thought they had made Jango Mandalorian and then took it away and then brought him back in. So wouldn’t the clones, who hold his DNA be Mandalorian?

If Boba is Mandalorian, the others should be also.

Wait! Does this mean Jaster isn’t Mandalorian either?

I support super-soldier Clone takes so hard. Even in the case of Boba Fett. Unaltered applied only to his age, so here is this kid in training by his Regular Human Dadwho can run miles without stopping because his lungs are more efficient in oxygenation. His muscles disperse lactic acid faster. His heart can withstand insane stress and work. His brain is fine tuned to process information and react. Poison? His body will purge it by the usual process and then his metabolism kicks into overdrive to burn it out of his system. He can taste and smell on a level that Jango can’t even fathom, and his hearing, while made not to overwhelm his sensory processes, is far sharper than Jango’s. He can hear and smell when Jango is getting tired. Boba knows when an opponent is too tired to keep fighting before the opponent does.

He’s faster, better, stronger than Jango and that’s ON PURPOSE. Jango wanted his legacy to be carried by someone that he considered BETTER.

And then Jango fell in love with his kid. And that’s where the plan fell in a little. He was enjoying being a dad too much. Maybe all of Boba’s abilities only trigger with puberty so that Clones had already been mentally trained (programmed) by the time their controlled puberty was brought to pass, so the Kaminoans wouldn’t have to worry about hormonal supermen running around all over their facility.

So now Boba is alone. An orphan. And the standard “your body is going through a lot of changes” conversation doesn’t even come CLOSE.

"average Mandalorian has 1.2 clones" factoid actualy just statistical error. average Mandalorian has 0 clones. Mandos Jango, who has two hundred thousand clones ready and a million more on the way, is an outlier adn should not have been counted

I just. Love Mando’a so fucking much. It’s so great.

They have three different words to describe ways to be stabbed. Bikadinir (to stab with a broad blade; “run through”), chekar (to stab with a small blade, “shiv”), and kalikir (to stab with a narrow blade, “skewer”).

They have one pronoun. Kaysh. That’s it. Buir is just parent, there’s no mom/dad. No son/daughter, just ad, ad’ika, ikaad. Child. Vod can mean sibling, friend, comrade. All at once. Amazing.

They have dozens of ways to insult someone. Di’kut, someone who forgets to put their pants on. Utreekov, emptyhead. Najaat, no honor. Dini, lunatic. Kaysh mirsh solus, “their brain cell is lonely.” Skanah, “much hated person/thing.” Hut’uun, coward. Ge’hut’uun, not even notable enough to be called a coward (how insulting is that?). Demagolka, originating from Demagol, the name of a scientist who was so fucking shitty that his name became the worst insult a Mandalorian could call you. And that insult is child abuser, monster, war criminal, someone with no honor.

And then there’s “shab”, which we don’t have an official definition for, but the fandom collectively agrees it means “fuck.” Because we have shabiir (to screw up), shab’la (screwed up), shab’rudur (to screw with), and shabuir (jerk but much stronger, AKA asshole/motherfucker).

And Mando’ade don’t say “I love you.” They say “Ni kar’tayli gar darasuum.” I hold you in my heart for eternity. Like. Are you serious. That’s so much better than “I love you.” If someone said that to me I would die on the spot.

Mirshmure’cya means “brain kiss.” Slang for headbutt, which is a thing Mando’ade do a lot, apparently. And it’s a sign of affection, too. They show affection by gently bonking their helmets together. How adorable is that???

Oh, and shereshoy. A lust for life “and much more.” Represented by orange on their armor. “The enjoyment of each day and the determination to seek and grab every possible experience, as well as surviving to see the next day - hanging onto life and relishing it.” And that “oy” at the end of it, derived from “Oya!”

“Oya”, which can mean so many things. A war cry before a fight or hunt. A celebration. An encouragement. “Let’s hunt!” “Hoorah!” “Cheers!” “That’s the spirit!”

This post got much longer than I meant it to lol. I’ll stop here. But you get the gist. Mando’a is a wonderful language and I am in love with it.

Most of the time I have an irrational antipathy and disinterest in Boba Fett but then every once in a while I go on a spiral about his fucked up childhood because it's a mindscrew and nightmare. Imagine being little kid growing up on a farm and all the farm animals look exactly like you and sound exactly like you and you watch them all get branded and sent to the slaughterhouse. And you're alone for weeks on end with only these not-brothers for company but you're not allowed with them, you just watch them. You watch them eat and train in rows upon rows and your dad tells you they're just cattle and they're exactly the same as you except they're not, because your dad says so. They're his clones and also you're his clone and the only reason you are a person is because your dad decided he wants a legacy and also it's the only reason you exist and also you don't want to be cattle like them. You exist to be his son and it's the only thing that makes you not cattle. And you're like. six.

Jango Fett is like the opposite of Darth Vader because Darth Vader is redeemed by his son but Jango Fett is made so much worse by every single decision he every made with Boba.

The Kaminoans 100% went behind Jango's back to make Omega. If Jango found out they made another "unaltered" clone that ages regularly and isn't intended to be canon fodder for the Republic, He'd be pissed! He'd go marching straight to the Kaminoan scientists and start causing a fit. He'd snatch her from their arms and pull a gun on them.

Next you'll see him sitting on his Kaminoan Lazy Boy, two babies in his arms with a big ass scowl on his face thinking, "I guess this is my life now >:( "

Jango Fett's parenting may be a hotly debated topic but bringing his ten year old son to the best seat of the space colosseum to watch a bunch of wild animals disembowel political prisoners was pretty fucking funny
