I support super-soldier Clone takes so hard. Even in the case of Boba Fett. Unaltered applied only to his age, so here is this kid in training by his Regular Human Dadwho can run miles without stopping because his lungs are more efficient in oxygenation. His muscles disperse lactic acid faster. His heart can withstand insane stress and work. His brain is fine tuned to process information and react. Poison? His body will purge it by the usual process and then his metabolism kicks into overdrive to burn it out of his system. He can taste and smell on a level that Jango can’t even fathom, and his hearing, while made not to overwhelm his sensory processes, is far sharper than Jango’s. He can hear and smell when Jango is getting tired. Boba knows when an opponent is too tired to keep fighting before the opponent does.

He’s faster, better, stronger than Jango and that’s ON PURPOSE. Jango wanted his legacy to be carried by someone that he considered BETTER.

And then Jango fell in love with his kid. And that’s where the plan fell in a little. He was enjoying being a dad too much. Maybe all of Boba’s abilities only trigger with puberty so that Clones had already been mentally trained (programmed) by the time their controlled puberty was brought to pass, so the Kaminoans wouldn’t have to worry about hormonal supermen running around all over their facility.

So now Boba is alone. An orphan. And the standard “your body is going through a lot of changes” conversation doesn’t even come CLOSE.

Oh god every time I think about Mandalorian politics I get angry because I cannot for the life of me decide where I stand on it - is Satine an idealist who is rightfully trying to pull her culture out of an idea that's actively killing them and their planet, or is she entirely blind to the faults of her ideals and causing a cultural genocide? Are the True Mandalorians terrorists or do they have an actual idea? What the FUCK are Jango Fett's morals? Are the Children of the Watch a cult or a religious sect? Do the clones consider themselves Mandalorians??

(i think we can all agree Death Watch sucks whatever the other answers are)

I am in despair, Mandalorian politics and culture is going to kill me, and I fear it will never make sense - does anyone have some good reading recs that might help me make up my mind lol? Or at least have some thoughts that they would be willing to share that might provide some sort of middle ground (or sway me one way or another)?

attack of the clones has its strong points

say what you want about the cringe parts, but watching the battle of geonosis is so cool. its the accumulation of republic and separatist technical design going head to head that is just so interesting to watch. we see a full-scale jedi force for pretty much the only time. obi wan v. jango fett?? the choreography against dooku? dont even get me started. plus, its our introduction to the relationships between the clones and the jedi. it reminds me of the little piece that jumpstarted the clone wars era and all of its awesomeness.

Most of the time I have an irrational antipathy and disinterest in Boba Fett but then every once in a while I go on a spiral about his fucked up childhood because it's a mindscrew and nightmare. Imagine being little kid growing up on a farm and all the farm animals look exactly like you and sound exactly like you and you watch them all get branded and sent to the slaughterhouse. And you're alone for weeks on end with only these not-brothers for company but you're not allowed with them, you just watch them. You watch them eat and train in rows upon rows and your dad tells you they're just cattle and they're exactly the same as you except they're not, because your dad says so. They're his clones and also you're his clone and the only reason you are a person is because your dad decided he wants a legacy and also it's the only reason you exist and also you don't want to be cattle like them. You exist to be his son and it's the only thing that makes you not cattle. And you're like. six.

Jango Fett is like the opposite of Darth Vader because Darth Vader is redeemed by his son but Jango Fett is made so much worse by every single decision he every made with Boba.

"average Mandalorian has 1.2 clones" factoid actualy just statistical error. average Mandalorian has 0 clones. Mandos Jango, who has two hundred thousand clones ready and a million more on the way, is an outlier adn should not have been counted
