cookies and cream • bang chan
genre: stray kids bang chan fluff. husband/dad au. (bang chan x fem! reader)
synopsis: in which chan goes on a spontaneous ice cream date with his little family.
warnings: none.
wc: 900 words.
notes: another fic i wrote a while ago :"). so proud of skz's s-class promos!

“Can we get ice cream after this?” you hear your son softly ask your husband, tugging lightly on the hem of his T-shirt. You’re out for dinner with your parents, and you can tell the kids are getting restless.
As your son and daughter look at Chan with a mixture of admiration and pleading, he looks over and makes eye contact with you. He raises an eyebrow, as if to silently ask, ‘Is it okay, babe?’ You shrug and smile.
“Yeah, we can after,” Chan replies, to the delighted squeals of your children. “After dinner though. Just wait a bit longer.” He shushes them, and they look at each other, eyes glowing at the prospect of ice cream after the long night.
After dinner is over, you say goodbye to your parents and Chan starts the car to drive you and your family to a nearby ice cream parlor.
“Ice cream!” Your son squeals. Chan chuckles, his laugh full and deep.
“Yeah, bud, I didn’t forget,” Chan reassures him. The drive is short, and you arrive at the shop quickly.
The kids rush to the glass cases and admire the myriad of flavors: pink-tinted strawberries and cream, tan java chip, swirls of chocolate fudge in pure white vanilla.
“What are you gonna get?” You ask your husband softly as you stand in line, the kids deliberating with each other.
“Green tea, probably,” He responds. You know green tea is his favorite. “What are you feeling like, darling?”
“I’m not that hungry, actually,” you reply. “I was planning on just stealing some of yours.” He shoves you slightly when he hears that but nods in approval, like you knew he would.
“Dad! Dad!” Your son says excitedly. “It’s our turn! Come on!”
The worker smiles at your son’s excitement, which doesn’t go unnoticed by Chan. “Sorry about him; he’s a bit excited,” Chan says with a laugh.
“Understandably,” the worker replies. “I’m always excited for ice cream too.” This makes the children laugh.
“Alright guys, what do you want?” Chan asks, looking down at the kids, who order their cones proudly.
“Anything else for you?” You hear the worker ask after handing the kids their cones. You don’t hear your husband’s response as you usher your kids to a nearby table.
“Be careful, guys,” you say. “Don’t drop your ice cream.” You sit them down and grab some napkins before sitting with them. “How is it?”
“Yummy!” “So good!”
“I’m glad,” you say, giggling. Their faces, smeared with ice cream, are so joyful, that you can’t help smiling with them. You see Chan gazing over at you and the kids from the cashier as he pays, but miss the loving gaze in his eyes as he observes you.
He pulls a chair from the table next to yours and plops down with you.
“What did you get, Dad?” Your daughter asks as she licks her cotton candy-flavored ice cream cone, looking at the cup of ice cream Chan places on the table between you two. There are two spoons in a cup of ice cream that definitely isn’t green tea flavored.
“Cookies and cream,” He replies, taking one of the spoons and beginning to eat.
“Your favorite, right?” Your son says.
“No, isn’t Dad’s favorite green tea?” His sister asks.
“But he always gets cookies and cream! He only gets green tea when he buys us ice cream without Mommy.”
“Cookies and cream is Mommy’s favorite,” Chan responds simply. He looks at you and pushes the cup closer. “Eat, love.”
“If cookies and cream isn’t your favorite, why do you always get it?” Your daughter asks incredulously.
“Because Mommy likes cookies and cream,” Chan says. “And I like Mommy.” He turns back to you as you start to take small bites of the scoop.
“When I’m older, I hope someone who really likes me always gets cotton candy ice cream, because that’s my favorite, just like Dad always buys Mom her favorite!” Your daughter declares then.
“I’ll buy you cotton candy ice cream!” Your son says, and you all laugh.
After you finish eating, you grab more napkins and leave the shop. Chan starts the car and you head home.
“What do you all say to Dad?” You ask before your family enters the house upon returning.
“Thank you, Dad!” “Thanks for the ice cream!”
The children run into their rooms once you unlock the house and once you’re alone, you feel Chan wrap his arms around your waist in a tight back hug. You spin around to face him and he places his large, warm hands back on my hips.
“Thank you for the ice cream, Chan,” you say, looking up at him. “Thank you for this.”
“I’m in love with you,” he responds suddenly. You must have reacted in shock, because Chan simply laughs before placing a soft kiss on your forehead and pulling you into a hug. He rests his chin on the top of your head. “In love with you and the kids.”
You smile and rest your head on his shoulder, moving closer into his hug. He begins to rub your back and shoulders and you sigh, allowing yourself to relax in his protecting arms.
"I’d do anything for our family, my love,” Chan says. And with that, you know just how in love he really is.

Jensen is, in a word, a lover. He's never been a fan of fighting and the shadowhunter life, but he'll put up with it if it means he gets to see his family. He loves with all his heart and is constantly trying to find ways to make people's lives easier with little things around the Institute. He likes small trinkets and shiny things, even if it means an acorn from the park where he and Max like to hang out a lot. He's an artist at heart and sees the world in such a different way compared to the rest of the shadowhunters---not in a way that requires he always watch his back, but in a way that makes him look forward and see what potential is ahead of him. He's never met someone that shares his view like that and it's particularly isolating.

Dislikes: loud noises, the Big Light in his room, plain/bare walls that have space for decoration

Background
Jensen was born in Idris in 1995 to parents Aric and Mollie Ashfair, three and a half years after his older sibling, Rowan. He barely remembers the time he spent in Idris---most of his memories start with the New York Institute. He learned about his mother's death and then found himself halfway across the world with new people. However, there was another young boy like himself there, and the two got close quickly.
He and Max spent a lot of time together---when given the option, he preferred to go with Maryse and Robert when they left New York. He liked traveling and didn't like being without Max for weeks at a time. Growing up, Rowan was busy with their own friends and the "big kids" didn't want to play with their baby brother.
He did his lessons under Hodge, but since he was younger and less naturally apt, he fell closer in line with Max's training. The two would play-fight with swords most of the time and did a lot of book work together. They stayed attached at the hip most of the time, one always just behind the other in whatever they were doing.
He was eleven when Maryse received a panicked call from the Institute and was informed she and Robert needed to return urgently. He didn't really know what was going on, but they rushed home from Idris much sooner than he wanted to. It was rare he got to see his dad, and when they visited was the rare time he did.
to be continued
Extra Family Information:

Supplements working + new spongy dental floss
Another reason why I think my supplements have been so helpful -- I got sick on Thursday, was sick in bed on Friday with flu symptoms, recovered well on Saturday but still have coughing, congestion, and lightheaded, and on Sunday I woke up just fine with a slight cough, some minor congestion and a minor scratchy throat. So this is promising.
I have also been dealing with a lot less cravings. I had churros with caramel and chocolate sauce a few days ago for my dad's birthday when we went out. (I still had salmon and veggies and potatoes for dinner which was on the healthier side as opposed to pizza, chicken tenders or fries). I felt like ordering a mint Java Chip from Starbucks today (t was really good and I got the small size without whipped cream and with almond milk). My supplements helped me have less cravings for junk and sugar. This doesn't mean I'll deprive myself, but it just means I don't want it as much. This gives me the opportunity to eat a lot better which leaves me feeling healthier and more disciplined! Discipline is something I want to work on and this will take some time and learning, but it is one great step ahead in the right direction.
I decided to order some new floss out of curiosity/interest and as per the recommendation of a hygienist I spoke to. It's from the brand Cocofloss and it makes thick woven blue floss that is infused with coconut oil and comes in different flavors. The floss itself isn't smooth and silky, it's thick and spongy which helps clean stubborn plaque and tartar off and it can fit inside the tiny holes of the teeth where debris can get caught (teeth are not smooth, they are porous and textured on a microscopic level). Smooth and gliding floss won't be as effective if at all in cleaning that way because it is flat and frictionless. The blue color is nice because it helps you see the plaque and tartar residue that comes off when flossing, which proves that it is working well in removing them. And the coconut oil is a nice added touch for antimicrobial benefits (ofen used in ol pulling). Overall it is a highly rated floss and it seems to clean very well. Only downside is the price of course. But it costs less than dental work. Other flosses like Oral B Glide are too smooth and slippery to effectively clean the teeth. If you have a dirty dish that has stubborn spots and residue, a textured cloth will clearly be more effective at cleaning that instead of a plastic bag. I'll use this floss along with my Sonicare and xylitol toothpaste and tongue scraper (plus my D3, K2, and magnesium supplements) to keep my teeth healthy.

Postpartum Insecurities <> Bucky Barnes
“She’s so beautiful,” You smiled down at your daughter in your arms. You laid in the bed in the med bay of the Avengers Compound, wrapped in Bucky’s arms as he sat behind you. He rubbed your arm softly as you both cooed over your newborn.
“Do you have a name yet?” Dr. Cho asked with a smile as she took your vitals. You looked up at Bucky in question. You had been talking about names probably since you found out you were pregnant. Though, you still didn’t know what was right. But, looking at your daughter now for the first time, both you and Bucky knew the perfect name.
“Sophie Rae... Sophie Rae Barnes.” You smiled up at Bucky, him returning the gesture. He kissed your forehead as you continued to adore your daughter.
* * *
“I’ll be right back.” You said to Bucky, gesturing to the front counter of the cafe, before standing from the booth.
“You want me to get you something, doll?” Bucky questioned. He was always so sweet like that, getting you anything you needed or wanted.
“It’s alright, babe. I got it.” Smiling, you kissed his cheek and walked back up to the counter. There was a new barista working the register today. Brooke must’ve had a day off.
“What can I get for you?” The woman, Caroline, offered.
“Can I get one of the chocolate chip brownies and a java chip frappe, please?” You asked with a smile.
“You sure about that?” She started, and you could hear a bit of judgment in her voice. “With that appetite, that extra weight isn’t going anywhere. Never gonna get that gorgeous model body back.” She states, and you could feel the tears build up. Before you got pregnant, you had the perfect body and you were a very well-known model. But, then, you had your daughter and your body never went back to the way it used to be. No matter how grateful you were for your daughter, nothing could change your insecurities.
“Um… well,” You hesitated. “Never mind, then.” And with that, you left back to your table. Bucky’s head snapped up, sensing you were close. It was kinda like a sixth sense for him. Which meant you couldn’t sneak up on him like you could with your other friends.
“Hey, baby. I thought you were gonna get something to eat.” Bucky wondered as you slid back into the booth across from him. You made eye contact with him and you could feel the sadness build up more and more.
“I, uh, changed my mind. But, um… could we actually go home?” You questioned. You saw Bucky’s expression change from adoration to concern.
“Yeah, sure.” He began as he followed your movements out of the booth. You started walking out of the cafe, and you could swear you saw the barista glare at you as you walked by. You sped out of the cafe and were almost 3 buildings down the street already when Bucky caught up to you, took your hand, and stopped you.
“Baby, what’s wrong? Are you okay?” Bucky asked, more worry laced in his voice. A tear escaped your eye and you tried to turn away, but Bucky pulled you closer to him, his hand on your cheek. He turned your head to look at him and wiped the tears away.
"Y/N, talk to me. What’s going on?” Bucky questioned, his eyes glued to yours.
“That new girl at the counter... she told me that I was...” You sniffled as you said the word ‘fat’ under your breath. You didn’t want to say it, but that is what she was implying. You knew Bucky could hear you, his super serum allowing him to hear miles away probably.
Bucky didn’t know what to say. He just pulled you into his arms as you let a few more tears slip.
“Baby, it’s okay. Don’t cry. Let’s not make a big deal of this.” But, Bucky knew that, once she pulled away and looked up at him with that shocked look on her face, he had said the wrong thing.
“You don’t think this is a big deal?” You said, anger building up. You were speechless. Bucky opened his mouth to say something but you didn’t let him. You didn’t say anything else as you turned around and made your way back to your car. You got into the passenger’s seat, Bucky in the driver’s seat and you traveled back to the compound.
“Doll, I’m sorry. I just...”
“Don’t,” You said louder than intended. “Just don’t.” They didn’t speak for the rest of the drive to the compound.
Everyone knew you were insecure about your body. Ever since your pregnancy, you had to give up your modeling career and your body changed drastically.
You weren’t the skinny, beautiful girl Bucky had first fallen in love with. You didn’t think he’d want you anymore. But, he told you differently. He told you he had made a promise to always love you no matter what when he proposed to you. He promised that he’d always think you were as beautiful as he thought you to be when you first met. And you believed him, deep down.
But, other times, you would go through phases of depression and you would hate yourself. No one really understood, clearly. Everyone thought you were overreacting, as always. You hated your body now, there was extra weight everywhere. And no matter what Bucky told you, how beautiful you always were and always will be, you couldn’t help but hate yourself more.
You hated being mad at Bucky, but the person you loved more than anyone or anything, the one person you’d think would understand more than anyone thought it wasn’t a big deal. And, though he thinks whatever you’re going on about is complete nonsense, Bucky hates the distance between you two.
Later, in the afternoon, Steve decided to bring you and Bucky with him to meet a friend to pick up some stuff, weapons and such. As part of your job, you’re forced to talk to Bucky, as well as all the others. You’re not surprised Steve chose to bring Bucky, his best friend. Though it was quite obvious, Steve didn’t know you weren’t talking to each other, so he brought you too. You sat in the front seat of Steve’s Buggy, Bucky in the back, and Steve driving, of course. You pull up under a bridge behind a black car, belonging to Sharon Carter.
“I’ll be right back...” Steve says, getting out of the car, leaving you and Bucky alone. Everything is silent as you watch Steve converse with Sharon. You watch as she opens her trunk and you see several guns and Steve’s shield on the top of the pile.
Suddenly, “Can you move your seat up?” Bucky breaks the silence.
“No.” You answer without any emotion, just annoyance, keeping your eyes on the two blondes in front of you.
You can feel Bucky’s eyes on you, and you just barely feel the car move seconds later as he shifts over to the middle seat. You watch a smile form on Steve’s face as he leans into Sharon, and they share a passionate kiss. You didn’t know they were a thing. You were quite surprised, to be honest, considering Peggy’s funeral was just two days ago. But you thought it was sweet. Steve’s known Sharon for a while, it seems. You smile at the romance.
“Ya know, that could be us,” Bucky states and your smile falters, remembering your fight from just hours before. You stay silent. “I’m sorry, Y/N...”
But there was something in you that just wasn’t yet forgiving. You focus back on Steve and Sharon. She gets back in her car just as Steve made eye contact with you. You and Bucky smile at him as a light blush lit up Steve’s cheeks.
About 20 minutes later, you three make it back to the compound. You get out of the car and make your way inside. A smile lights up your face as you see your daughter running towards you, a huge smile on her face.
“Mommy!” She exclaims, running into your arms. You’ve only been gone about 2 hours, but she’s always excited when you get home.
“Hey, sweetheart. Did you have fun with Aunt Nat?” You asked her, kneeling down in front of her.
“Yeah! We colored and then she taught me how to load a gun.” Sophie answered. You chuckled nervously, not really knowing how to feel about that, considering she was 6 and wasn’t ready to be around guns.
“Oh, did she?” You met Nat’s eyes from across the room and she just shrugged with a smug smile. You looked back at your daughter.
“Well, I’m gonna go freshen up. Go say hi to Daddy.” You say just as Bucky walked through the door with Steve.
She looked over at her dad and Uncle Steve, a bigger smile growing on her lips.
“Daddy!” She squealed as she ran to him. You stood up and walked away through the halls and to your room.
“Hey, baby girl! How was your morning?” Buck smiles as he holds Sophie in his arms, her perched on his hip.
“It was good. Did you know that you always keep your gun on the safety until you are ready to use it?” Sophie states with a giggly smile.
Bucky chuckles at his daughter. “Yes, I did know that. But, I didn’t think you were ready to know that yet.” He glared at Natasha from the corner of his eye.
“Daddy, can you teach me something?” Sophie asks him as he sets her on her feet and kneels down in front of her.
“Of course, doll.” He says. She was always into reading and spelling, you think she got that from you. She likes to learn with Bucky, the daddy’s girl side of her. You would always find them around the apartment, reading easy-to-read books or him teaching her to spell or write or doing whatever she wanted to do.
After changing into a pair of jean shorts and one of Bucky’s sweatshirts that went past your shorts, just as you were walking out of your bathroom, you ran into Bucky. You looked up at him as he looked down at you with a pleading, sincere look in his eyes. You wanted to forgive him, you just couldn’t yet. You walked past him into your bedroom as he walked into the bathroom and closed the door. You grabbed your book and settled on the couch in your room by the window.
Bucky walked back out, shirtless and in gray sweatpants. You just had to look at your favorite outfit on him. You could never help yourself when he wasn’t wearing a shirt. He did it all the time too, knowing you loved it. He did it whenever there was no one in your apartment except you, him, and Sophie. That was almost all day, every day, always a nice sight to see.
He walked out of the room and you went back to reading, trying to focus. It was hard to focus back on something as simple as reading after seeing Bucky shirtless.
A little while later, you heard a loud squeaky laugh from the kitchen. You close your book, standing from your spot on the couch, you make your way quietly to the kitchen. You stood in the doorway, arms crossed over your chest, watching the sweet sight of your husband and daughter sitting on the kitchen floor in front of the fridge. Sophie sat in Bucky’s lap as they played around with the spelling letter magnets on the fridge. You couldn’t help but smile.
Bucky just finished teaching Sophie how to spell the word ‘perfect’. He told her to sound it out, first asking her what sound a cat makes.
Just then, Bucky looks up at you, and as your eyes meet, your face fell as fast as your smile came when you saw Bucky and Sophie together. You turn around and make your way back to your room.
“Hey, Soph, how about you go and wash up for dinner?” Bucky tells her, helping her up from his lap. “Okay, daddy.” She smiles, giggling as she runs off. He could never hold back a smile whenever she called him daddy. It would never get old for him.
Bucky made his way to his room, longing for his wife that he hasn’t talked to since that morning. He walks in quietly, careful not to scare her like he does more than he would like. He always found it cute how jumpy she was.
He finds his wife sitting on their bed, back facing him. He knew what she was doing. She didn’t have her phone or a book in her hands. She just sat there thinking like he found her doing a lot. Bucky climbs up behind her, pulling her hair back and placing a soft kiss on her neck.
“Bucky…” She starts.
“Y/N, I’m so sorry. I know how you are and how you feel about yourself and I just didn’t know what I was thinking.” Bucky interrupted her. He moved to sit beside her, taking her hand in his. “I’m sorry about what that woman said. If I had known, I would’ve done something about it.”
“I just thought… I thought you understood.” You told him, your voice quiet as you looked down at your hands, a tear slipping down your cheek.
“Y/N, baby, I do understand. I really do. The only reason I don’t think it’s a big deal is that I always see you the same in my eyes.” Bucky paused as he lifted your chin to look into his eyes. “You will always be and I will always see you as beautiful as you were when I first met you, no matter what. And I will always love you, baby.” He finished as he brushed his thumb against your cheek. He rid away some of the stray tears, though more kept coming. But, instead of the sad tears, they were happy tears.
“Besides, all of this,” he slid his hand up my shirt and set his hand on my belly. “It came from the birth of our baby girl. So, there’s no reason to feel insecure about it, baby. It’s a good thing.” He told you, leaning down and pressing a kiss to your belly.
“I love you so much, Buck.” You said as he came back up. You leaned in, your hand on the back of his neck. Your lips met in a sweet, loving kiss.
“Forever, Y/N. I love you.” He said, your foreheads pressed against each other.
Just then, you heard pots and pans banging against each other from the kitchen.
“I think our daughter is getting hungry.” You giggled, bringing a smile to Bucky’s lips. He couldn’t get enough of your smile or your laugh or your anything.
You stood up, ready to make whatever your daughter wanted.
“Y/N, can I just say one thing?” Bucky asked just before you turned the corner to your bedroom door. You turned towards him with a questionable expression.
“That cute ass of yours is not helping the way I feel right now. Especially since I haven’t touched you much today.” He states as he stood up and walked to you. His hands ran up your - his - sweatshirt and planted themselves on your bare waist. He felt you tense in his grasp. You still felt a little sensitive and insecure when he touched the places that held that extra bit of weight.
“Don’t worry, baby. Don’t feel insecure.” He whispered into your ear. “You’re so beautiful. Every inch, every bit of you, I can’t get enough.” Bucky finished. You looked up at him, a somewhat seductive smile on your lips. He leaned down and pressed his lips to yours. You felt his hand travel further down towards your ass and into your back pocket.
You leaned back a bit. “Dinner first, my love. Then, maybe we can do some of that later.” You told your husband. You loved watching him the way he was. You loved that he longed for you. You slid your hand into his and led him out to the kitchen where you find your daughter starting to put ingredients together for dinner. You knew she was going to take after Bucky in the cooking department. You and Bucky watched her, a smile on both your faces. You leaned into Bucky, one hand on his chest along with your head and his arm around your waist. He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on your head.

dead poets as coffees.
because i'm drinking my third coffee at nearly midnight and i regret nothing.
neil, mocha frappuccino
neil used to drink all kinds of coffee - lattes, espressos, hot chocolate. he likes to experiment with taste.
however, this one time, he ordered a mocha frappuccino and the texture & taste were exactly what he searched for in a coffee.
sweet, chocolate-y, COLD!
a little crumbly, but he likes to chew on the ice for some odd reason.
his lips are always covered in the chocolate topping and no one tells him.
it's a summer drink. it's a lovely drink. it's cute.
todd, latte macchiato
soft, sweet, light.
the drink is warm, milky, and wraps around your tongue like honey.
todd brings his own mug to the cafe. a pale blue clay mug with white dots. he made it.
he likes to drink his latte macchiato in the evening when he studies. he's not a big coffee drinker. he claims it makes him act a little weird and loud.
however, whenever todd drinks his coffee, he likes to savor it deeply.
no talking. no reading. no thinking. just admiring the work put into his brew.
pitts, chai latte
milk, cloves, cinnamon, black peppercorns, ginger. every spice is in it. every. spice.
pitts is lowkey a HUGE coffee lover, but not your average coffee lover.
he likes to play with spices in his lattes. but it's always a latte.
oh, he comes with his own coffee. he claims the one from the cafe isn't accurate, whatever that means.
there are always autumn/wintery vibes in his lattes.
steven stephen, pumpkin spice latte!
it's not a shocker that stephen likes lattes as well, right?
he always orders his pumpkin spice latte hot and with a generous sprinkle of cinnamon on top of it.
it's never cold.
not even on the hottest day of summer.
he brings biscuits from home so he can dip them in and savour the sweetness better.
of course, he asks for extra paper towels because the foam always gets on his nose.
his glasses always get blurry.
knox, cinnamon coffee
knox needs his black coffee. how else would he stay up 'til 4 am to write letters to his lover? he's never gonna send them, anyway.
but he's still searching for a taste, so he asks the barista to add a bit of cinnamon as well.
very sweet.
not just sweet. he likes five teaspoons of sugar in his coffee.
brown sugar, by the way.
he always uses leftover coffee as paint and makes cute bookmarks for his friends with it.
charlie, caramel macchiato
caramel macchiato, hot.
"and please, can you not put any sugar in it?"
he always asks the barista for extra caramel.
and extra foam.
almond milk!
even if this is his favorite drink, he somehow finds himself drinking five or six more cups of black coffee for the rest of the day.
that's why his hands are always shaky and he fidgets in class.
somehow, he still manages to sleep like a baby.
cameron says he snores.
he does.
cameron, java chip frappe
cameron likes to drink this specific frappe because however fun and sweet it is, the coffee is still there
and oh my god isn't he a coffee lover.
"you're doing it wrong!" he always corrects the barista when they sprinkle the java chips weirdly.
"i'm never ordering from this place again" he mutters under his breath, knowing this place is the only place the baristas accept advice from him while they're making his coffee.
at this point, it's not even a java chip frappe anymore.
stick! he doesn't really like coffee.
he loves bubble tea, though!
whenever knox invites him to the cafe with the poets, he gets all weird because, "well, you know I don't like coffee, right?"
his bubble tea is always colored differently and every time, the boys ask him if they can have a sip.
"sure thing! he chuckles.
meeks eats the bubbles.
pitts sniffs it.
they end up drinking almost half of the bubble tea and leave henry with an almost empty cup.
they never order bubble tea, though.
"it tastes better when it's stick's."
mr. keating, americano
every morning, mr. keating sits by the wall of this cozy cafe and sips from his tiny cup of coffee.
the cup is the size of his pinky finger but he somehow manages to drink it in twenty minutes?
he does crosswords every morning. he can't start his day without completing one.
in fact, mr. keating always tries to finish a crossword faster than he did the previous day.
he drinks with a raised pinky.
mr. perry, piss
mr. perry likes drinking piss every morning!
in fact, it's not just your regular piss. it's a dead poet's piss.
more precisely, my piss.
i, knox overstreet, like to piss in mr. perry's mouth every morning.
:)

The Names of Different Coffee Drinks
Coffee drinks have many different names that come from many sources. Coffee houses have 64 drink selections they agree have the same basic recipe. Some of these drinks have different names or have a number of variations. A good barista is one who knows how to make them all.
Affogato is Italian for drowned. This can be a drink or served as a dessert a drink or dessert with espresso that may also incorporate caramel sauce or chocolate sauce.
The Baltimore is an equal mix of decaffeinated and caffeinated brewed coffee while the Black Eye is dripped coffee with a double shot of espresso creating a strong taste.

Cafe Bombon was made popular in Valencia, Spain and modified to suit European tastes and many parts of Asia such as Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. The basic European recipe uses espresso served with sweetened condensed milk in a 1 to 1 ratio. The Asian version uses coffee and sweetened condensed milk at the same ratio. For visual effect, a glass is used, to create two separate bands of contrasting color.
In America, the Caffe Latte is a portion of espresso and steamed milk, generally in a 2 to 1 ratio of milk to espresso, with a little foam on top. This beverage was popularized by large coffee chains such as Starbucks.
The Cafe Medici starts with a double shot of espresso extracted using a double filter basket in a portafilter that is poured over chocolate syrup and orange or lemon peel, which is usually topped with whipped cream. This drink originated at Seattle's historic Last Exit on Brooklyn coffeehouse.

Mochasippi is prepared by baristas in coffee houses in southern states. Similar to the Mocha, but a Mochasippi contains actual shots of espresso rather than a powdered instant coffee.
Pumpkin Spice Latte is a Fall seasonal blend of steamed milk, espresso, sugar, vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, topped with foam and a pinch of pumpkin pie spice.
Pocillo is a shot or small portion of unsweetened coffee, now usually made either using an espresso machine or a moka maker, but traditionally made using a cloth drip and served in cups made for the purpose in Latin America.

Local drinks add to the variety of coffee drinks covered here as do new creations whether by customers or by baristas themselves. If they become known around the world, they will join the list above.

I did not know that the Java chip and chocolate chip frappes were essentially the same but it’s good to have that information for later lmao
Also I can confirm that chai has a cinnamon-y taste!
yes!!
the java chip frap is the same as the cookie crumble one except cookie crumble has cookie sprinkles on top + whipped cream in the bottom (so. you pay more but get less actual frap.)
and then the cookie crumble creme and the chocolate chip fraps are the same as those two except they're made without the coffee syrup and frap roast
I love the cookie sprinkles I put them on every drink but only because I don't pay for drinks lol probably not worth it
and oooOo ok interesting about the chai!! I really should try it sometime lol

Starbucks Order
Okay, I’m gonna pause on the requests for a second because I’m lacking brain function. So where does my mind go? To my natural state—Starbucks mode. This post is in no way affiliated with Starbucks Coffee Company, nor am I being paid to promote the brand in any way, shape, or form. The only compensation I receive is in the form of catastrophe pay. This post is entirely meant to be satire, and I actually had a lot of fun writing it!

Karasuno;
—Daichi, Kiyoko, and Ennoshita are the black coffee drinkers, iced or hot depending on the season.
—Asahi, Tsukki, and Suga are latte drinkers; caramel, toffeenut, and vanilla respectively.
—Tanaka, Yachi, and Yamaguchi are slightly more “adventurous”. They’re the ones who always try the seasonal launches. Yes, they tried the unicorn Frappuccino. Yes, they said it was good. Yes, they were liars.
—Kageyama gets a vanilla bean or strawberry creme Frappuccino every time, without question.
—Hinata and Noya are the chaotic secret menu drinkers. You all saw this coming. Noya totally orders a matcha green tea Frappuccino, sub peppermint, add java chips. Whereas Hinata prefers a vanilla bean with caramel and toffee nut, extra caramel drizzle. On colder days, Hinata prefers a black and white hot chocolate with extra whip and any kind of seasonal topping that adds a crunch.

Aoba Johsai;
—Not to throw my babies under the bus, but the only men on this team drinking black coffee is Iwaizumi, Watari, and Kunimi. Everyone else too weak.
—Never an iced one for Iwa, though. Hot and preferably over 200F like himself.
—Kyoutani doesn’t get anything because he lowkey hates the fact that Starbucks exists. That’s fair. If someone is getting it for him, he prefers a blonde roast with a teensy splash of milk.
—Yahaba also prefers a drip coffee, but he’s very particular. If he’s feeling a hot coffee, he prefers dark unless it’s Italian Roast bc garbage. If that’s the roast of the day, he goes with blonde. Splash of cream and three sugars. If he’s feeling iced coffee, he wants an iced Pike Pour Over because Yahaba is THAT extra. The regular iced coffee doesn’t cut it. However, he only orders it if nobody else is in the cafe and he’s alone.
—Oikawa’s orders depend on his mood. I could see him getting tall Nitros on a regular, but if he’s not feeling coffee, he’s an iced tea drinker. Preferably, the guava white iced tea, unsweetened of course.
—The meme team totally gets the color drinks. Makki is basic af, getting the pink drink. Mattsun prefers to think he’s exotic, getting a dragon drink.
—Kindaichi is the Seijoh Frappuccino offender. He prefers the Caramel Ribbon Crunch.

Nekoma;
—Oddly enough, I don’t see any of them being a straight black coffee drinker. The closest would be Kuroo and Yamamoto. Though, Kuroo would prefer a cold brew. If pumpkin cream cold brew is in season, it’s the only thing he gets.
—Yamamoto, on the other hand, I could see him being a standard iced latte drinker. Extra shot and almond milk.
—Yaku is definitely a flat white kinda guy. He strikes me as the person who thinks he’s cultured for getting ristretto shots.
—Inuoka is a tea drinker, and he doesn’t discriminate between any of them as they’re all good in their own right. However, if he’s feeling ritzy, black tea lemonade with mango refresher base, sweetened.
—Lev is a fan of the very berry hibiscus refresher. If he’s feeling ritzy, he’ll substitute the water for apple juice.
—Kenma is a chai guy, but only iced. With one less pump of chai and two pumps of vanilla, regardless of size.

Fukurodani;
—Washio is our black coffee drinker for this team, because stoic trope.
—Onaga prefers a vanilla sweet cream cold brew, as it’s the perfect balance of creamy, sweet, and still tastes like coffee. If he’s feeling adventurous, he’d vie for an iced cocoa cloud macchiato.
—Akaashi strikes me as another one that orders depending on his mood, never sticking to regularity. Though if he’s unsure, he just orders a white chocolate mocha with no whip. Definitely prefers warm drinks to iced.
—Konoha is in the same boat as Akaashi, but I guarantee he’s tried everything on the menu at least once. Salted caramel mocha is a year round favorite for him, both hot or iced, and whether the topping is available or not.
—You all knew this was coming. Bokuto is our chaotic good friend here. Strawberry creme Frappuccino with a banana blended in, java chips, one scoop vanilla bean powder, and mocha drizzle on top.
—If he’s not feeling a blended drink, he gets an iced matcha latte with one less pump of white mocha and 1-2 pumps of toffee nut. (If you read elixir, you’ve seen this before! This is my actual drink.) Bokuto and I got the crackhead energy here.

Hey, so I have a question that you are 100% not obligated to answer, but it would really help me out if you did. So I have celiac disease, meaning I can't have any gluten, and I am also allergic to coffee itself (the molecules look really similar). I usually get a chai latte or a vanilla frap when I go to Starbucks, but what else is there that is gluten free and coffee free? Or can be made without coffee? Thank you so so much!!
So I’m not super knowledgeable about all the places gluten can hide in beverages, but Starbucks’ website has details on virtually all their items, and should be able to tell you if an item contains anything you’re allergic too. After a quick Google search I think the caramel drizzle contains gluten, so I’ll keep it off my list below.
That said, I AM super knowledgeable about coffee, so here are a few drinks that should be 100% coffee-free and are, to my limited knowledge, gluten-free too. (Always be wary, since things like steam wands and blenders, even when cleaned between uses, can have traces of allergens etc., but if you’ve previously had chai, which uses the wand, and vanilla bean fraps, which use the blender, you’re probably okay)
Starbucks Refreshers - Coming in three different fruity flavors and available with water, lemonade, or coconutmilk, these are some of the most popular Starbucks drinks and are perfect for upcoming summer weather.
Hot chocolate - available in regular or white chocolate and topped with whip, this is a drink that’s coffee-adjacent while still being coffee-free.
Frappuccinos - most frappuccinos can be ordered without coffee, so as long as you avoid the ones which include caramel drizzle and other toppings, you should be good. (I’m not sure about toppings and inclusions like mocha crumble pieces or java chips, though, so you may have to look up specific fraps individually).
Teas - Obviously no coffees here. A google search said “most” contain no gluten, so take a look into the ones that sound interesting and double-check their ingredients. If you like chai lattes you could also try other tea lattes like matcha and london fog. For sweetness, you can add peach, guava, or lemonade to your iced tea. For hot teas, a current favorite is the Honey Citrus Mint Tea, which is made with steamed lemonade.
Blended Strawberry Lemonade - Super refreshing, no coffee added. Looks like the strawberry puree used is also gluten-free.
Steamers - these are no-coffee lattes and come in all the same flavors (obviously, avoid caramel - the rest should be fine). Usually they are ordered for children but they are still a yummy and foamy treat for no-coffee adults.
Coconutmilk drinks - premiered in 2020, the pineapple matcha drink and guava passionfruit drink appear to be gluten-free. (The golden ginger drink, however, contains gum arabic, which looks like a no-no.)
Hope that helps! :)

Little Visits || pt. 1
part two will be posted soon.
“Taisho Brothers Inc., this is Nazuna, how may I direct your call?”
Across from the reception desk, the elevator doors opened but the secretary didn’t look away from her computer as she said, “I’m terribly sorry sir, I’m afraid Mr. Taisho is in a meeting right now, but I’d be happy to take a message if you’d like.”
Grateful for the headset that freed both of her hands, Nazuna snatched a pen to quickly scrawl out the brief message on the small note pad for such a purpose and bit back a sigh as the man on the other end continued to drone on. Now she understood why Tōran hated answering calls from this particular client; he never shut up.
“No, I’m not sure how long it will last—er, about forty-five minutes ago. Yes, I’ll be sure to give him the message,” she promised and barely refrained from rolling her eyes. “Of course. You’re very welcome, Mr. Yanada. Yes, I will deliver it personally—you too. Bye, now.”
Ending the call, Nazuna sighed and eyed her nearly empty cup of coffee. Perhaps it was time for a refill.
“I hope that wasn’t my Mr. Taisho you’re referring to,” a kind female voice piped up and Nazuna lifted her head.
“Mrs. Taisho!” the secretary greeted in pleasant surprise and she received a warm smile in response. She smiled back and replied, “Ah, don’t worry, that call was for Sesshomaru. Tōran is on vacation this week and all of his calls are getting forwarded to me.”
Kagome winced and gave a sympathetic smile. “Ouch. Busy week, hm?”
Nazuna sighed and shrugged. “Just a few more days and then I can breathe again. I was just thinking it’s time to get some more of that lifesaving caffeinated liquid when I took that call.”
Caramel colored eyes lit up and hitching the toddler in her arm higher up on her hip, Kagome stepped forward and set down on the desk a fresh cup of java from the café across the street.
“You’re in luck,” Kagome said with a friendly wink. “They got my order wrong and added an extra shot of espresso. It’s too bitter for me, and it sounds like you need it more than I do anyway.”
Nazuna practically had stars in her eyes as she wrapped her hands around the warm paper cup and beamed at her boss’s generous, beautiful wife.
“You are a lifesaver, Mrs. Taisho,” the younger woman gushed, inhaling the delicious-smelling steam with a delighted sigh. “Thank you so much. Are you sure you don’t mind?”
Kagome waved her hand. “It’s fine, I promise. It would have probably just gotten dumped since neither of us are a fan of espresso, and anyway the real reason we stopped in was because Iz wanted to surprise Daddy with his favorite treat. Right, baby?”
Cradled in her arm, one-year old Izayoi briefly turned her head from where it rested on her mother’s shoulder to peek shyly at the smiling receptionist, a brown paper bag with her father’s favorite baked good clutched in her tiny hand.
Nazuna’s face softened and she barely resisted the urge to squeal. Her boss had the most adorable baby!
“Hi, Izayoi,” the secretary greeted with a little finger-wave.
Kagome watched in amusement as her toddler blinked before abruptly hiding again, smashing her face against her shoulder and wrapping her small arms around her neck.
Nazuna giggled while Kagome shook her head, but not without a smile. “So shy,” she said and kissed her daughter between her furry little tears before turning to Nazuna again.
“He’s in his office,” the younger woman supplied with a knowing smile before Kagome could inquire. “I’ll hold his calls. I’m sure he’d be glad for a break himself.”
Kagome beamed. “You’re the best, Zune. I owe you another cup of coffee and anything you want at the café next time I visit.”
The secretary’s eyes glittered as she replied, “I’m quite partial to those yogurt parfaits with the strawberries and their caramel mocha lattes…”
Kagome giggled and winked as she rounded the desk toward where her husband’s office was located. “You got it. Thanks again, Nazuna!”
“Anytime, Mrs. Taisho!” She lifted her newly gifted cup of coffee up and watched as the two disappeared. Her boss was truly a lucky man to have such an amazing wife and adorable little girl. Now if only she could be so lucky…
Sighing wistfully, Nazuna took a sip of her coffee, moaned in delight, then got back to work, rejuvenated.
Unsurprisingly her husband’s office door was closed and Kagome knelt before it to set their one-year old on the floor. Izayoi blinked at her as Kagome smoothed out her cute little dress and dropped a kiss to her nose. The toddler beamed and with a smile, Kagome tweaked her ear, reached over her head, and swung open the door.
Inuyasha was immersed in his work, frowning at his computer screen as he typed up one of the seemingly millions of reports that were due when his office door suddenly opened of its own violation and the scent that drifted in gave him pause.
He froze and amber eyes quickly darted to the door, wondering if she was really here or if he was smelling things. The doorway was empty and Inuyasha frowned, eyes narrowing as a sneaking suspicion made the corners of his lips twitch upward, and then not even a second later his suspicions were confirmed when a very familiar toddler waddled into his office, clutching a paper bag and his heart positively melted at the radiant smile that split her face when she spotted him.
“Babygirl!” Immediately abandoning his work, Inuyasha stood from his chair only to kneel down as his daughter came zooming across the floor toward him as fast as her little legs could carry her.
Grinning Inuyasha wrapped her up in his arms and kissed her little face as he stood back up, ears flicking as the click of his door closing registered, but he only had eyes for his little girl.
“Daddy!” Izayoi laughed and hugged him around his neck, giggling when he laid a big wet kiss on her pudgy little cheek.
“What’re you doing here?” Inuyasha murmured even though he already had a very good idea. “Come to surprise daddy, huh?”
Leaning back, Izayoi grinned and waved around the brown paper bag she still gripped in her hand.
“Mama,” she said and allowed her father to take the bag from her.
“Way to rat me out, Iz,” Mama said as she ambled toward them and two sets of amber eyes swung her way.
“Kinda hard to be ratted out when your target has a working nose,” Inuyasha drawled, aiming a crooked grin at his wife as he opened his arm and beckoned her over. “I’ll give you an A for effort, though, Mrs. Taisho.”
“You ruin all my good surprises,” Kagome murmured as she wrapped her arms around his waist and tipped her head back to receive his loving kiss with a smile.
“Not my fault,” he rumbled and kissed her again.
“It’s totally your fault.”
“Prove it.” He nuzzled her nose with his and grinned at her little huff of annoyance, but her eyes glittered with amusement.
When all his wife did was wrinkle her nose and level him with a familiar look of exasperation, Inuyasha chuckled and dropped one last soft kiss to her lips before reluctantly pulling back. Kagome tweaked his ear then hitched herself up onto his desk while he sank back down into his chair with Izayoi on his lap. His eyebrows rose in surprise when he noticed she seemed to have helped herself to the contents of the back and his wife sighed in resignation when she noticed, too.
With half a chocolate chip cookie in her mouth, Izayoi blinked great big eyes the color of honey at her father then gave a toothy grin. He shook his head and kissed her nose.
“How’d it go?” Inuyasha asked and slipped his hand inside the bag to steal a cookie before his sneaky daughter polished them all off.
Kagome shrugged and idly surveyed his desk, frowning when she spotted a familiar pair of glasses peeking out from under a stack of papers.
“Everything’s good,” she answered, reaching over to pluck the glasses out from their hiding place. “She was a very good girl and held still when she got her flu shot and her checkup went smoothly. She got a sticker for being such a good girl, didn’t you, sweetie? Show daddy your sticker.”
Eyes widening, Izayoi faced the older half-demon and proudly thrust her hand in his face with a huge grin, displaying the princess sticker on the back of her hand that read, “Great job, Princess!”
“Oooh,” Inuyasha murmured on cue, taking the tiny hand in his own and inspecting the pink glittery sticker. “I’m jealous. Can Dad have a sticker, too?”
Izayoi giggled and shook her head, holding her hand to her chest to protect her precious sticker.
“No? Well then how about I just take yours, then,” he said before promptly bringing her tiny hand to his mouth and pretending to eat it.
The toddler squealed and shook her head, trying to take her hand back. “No, no, no, no Daddy!” she said through her laughter and used her other hand to push at his face.
Inuyasha tried to eat that hand too and from her spot on his desk Kagome watched in amusement as their daughter wriggled around on his lap while her husband made ridiculous “nom nom nom” noises. Eventually Izayoi escaped his grasp and started exploring his office, waddling to and fro with a magnifying glass she’d pilfered from her father’s desk.
Content to let her wander around, Inuyasha sat back in his chair and promptly stuffed a half-eaten cookie in his mouth.
“Why aren’t you wearing these?” Kagome asked, holding up those damned reading glasses and Inuyasha wrinkled his nose as he swallowed his mouthful.
“They make me feel old,” Inuyasha begrudgingly admitted and glared at the offending item dangling from his wife’s fingers. His sight was fine, dammit. He didn’t need them.
Kagome’s lips twitched. “You are old.”
“Hey!” Inuyasha protested and caught his mischievous little wife before she could escape, dragging her onto his lap. Kagome snickered and made herself comfortable, wrapping her arms around his neck and crossing her legs where they were draped over his thighs.
“I think they make you look sexy,” Kagome purred and kissed his jaw.
Inuyasha smirked and slipped his arms around her waist. “Yeah?”
“Mmhm,” his wife hummed and she was smiling as he rested his forehead against her own and brushed his lips against hers.
“Thanks,” he whispered and promptly tucked his face into the crook of her neck, heaving a sigh as he tightened his arms around his beloved.
Kagome’s eyebrows rose and a bemused smile curled her lisp as she ran a hand through his hair and rubbed his ears. A giggle from Izayoi prompted her to look over to discover their daughter had discovered the bookshelf and was sitting on the floor with what looked to be an encyclopedia spread out before her.
“What for?” she asked gently, moving her hand down to massage the nape of his neck.
Inuyasha’s pleased growl told her how much he appreciated that gesture so she kept it up, humming quietly under her breath as she waited for her hanyou to answer.
“You,” he finally said a minute later, leaning back with a sigh and aiming one of his loving smiles he reserved just for his family. “Her. This. I needed it.”
Heart full of love for this amazing man, Kagome tugged him down and they shared a long, slow, lingering kiss that bespoke of utter content and all the love they harbored for one another.
“Muh,” a high-pitched voice interrupted followed by an insistent tugging on Inuyasha’s pants and breaking apart, both parents glanced down to find their toddler frowning up at them and bouncing on the balls of her feet, clearly wanting in on the affection.
Inuyasha snorted, Kagome laughed, and then clawed hands reached down to oblige the little girl, lifting her up and settling her on her mother’s lap. A second later she was bombarded with kisses and hugs from her parents and Izayoi’s laughter rang loud and clear, happy, genuine, and pure.

Name 3 things in your fridge/freezer: We have a loaf of white bread, a near-empty bottle of Japanese mayonnaise, and a tub of liver.
Name a color you're wearing currently: Pink and orange. I ended up going to the virtual Halloween party at work - went as Dora - and it was a blast. I’m SO glad impersonating our characters didn’t turn out to be mandatory; I just sat there and was happy to be there, lmao.
Name the last thing you ate: A ham sandwich.
Name the last store you went to: Does the vet count? They sell pet food over there, so it’s kind of like a store I guess. I went last weekend because Cooper needed a heartworm test and a couple of shots.

Name something commonly ordered at Starbucks: Like...in general? I’m not aware of the most common food/drink ordered by other people but if I had to pick a guess, I know frappes are popular among my age group and the age group before us and that java chip is a popular flavor. But if you’re just referring to my usual, I like getting an iced caramel macchiato.
Name the last person you talked to in person: My dad. They gave us a box of Halloween donuts AND cake pops at work today :’) so I just asked my dad if he wanted a donut.
Name the last person you talked to on the phone: Mom. But my last call in general was a Zoom call with the entire company just a few minutes ago for the Halloween party.
Name the current day of the week: Today issss Wednesday.
Name the current month: October.

I think visitors are already allowed to go to the latter so I’m really eyeing a solo, soul-searching trip soon. As for places I’ve never been to before but would make for interesting vacations, I’d go with Chicago and Marrakesh.
Name 3 things you can see from where you're sitting: I can see an empty mug that used to contain coffee, a box of cake pops, and a purple pen.
Name your favorite musical: Miss Saigon.

Name something you'd like to accomplish: Travel, and travel a lot.
Name someone who makes you laugh: Andi made me smile and chuckle a bit today, so let’s name them.

Name a song that makes you emotional: 26 by Paramore.
Name one of your pet peeves: People who call without texting or notifying beforehand. Holy fucking shit. A hiring manager did this exact thing to me yesterday and I rejected her call because she did not text first. Name a language: German.
Name what other tabs you have open: On this window, just Bzoink. I just closed a YouTube tab.
Name 3 things on the walls of the room you're in: Audrey Hepburn wall decors, a painting that I’m trying to cover up with post-its to turn it into something positive, and uhhh my aircon is mounted to the wall if that counts lol

Name a famous landmark: Because I can clearly read the next question, the Statue of Liberty.
Name a place you might go in NYC: I’d go straight to my uncle’s so that he can show me the good spots. He has a lot of cool friends who run their own bars/restaurants in the city so if anyone knows how to have a good time in NYC without having to go to all the big tourist places, it’s him. Can’t I just go back to a simpler time when that song was just fun to listen to and wasn’t actually relevant to my life? I hate music sometimes.

WHAT SHOULD YOU ORDER AT STARBUCKS ?

You got... a Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino!
Sometimes overshadowed by their more popular sister, the Caramel Ribbon Crunch, the Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino still stands in it's own right with a layer of whipped cream and mocha on the bottom, a java-chip-filled blend, and a topping of more whip and the cookie crumbles that give the drink it's name. Want a child or decaf friend to join in the fun? Ask for the Chocolate Cookie Crumble - it's the same delicious flavor without the coffee.
