Just a random comic of the AU
Some context:
Diane died around the age Rick was while being on this band, by one of those federal government bugs that was trying to kill Rick.
Since then he decided to leave that life behind for Beth and his family, and avoids the subject because he blames himself for her wife's death.

Jealous and possessive Rick Grimes
Tumblr media
Rick's past with Lori and fear of losing you can make him possessive and jealous when other guys flirt with you.
You and Rick have been in a relationship for several months, and things have been going well.
Rick has a past with Lori, which makes him somewhat possessive and jealous when it comes to you.
You don't usually notice when someone is flirting with you, so you don't realize what's happening when another guy starts talking to you.
Rick is immediately on guard, and he makes it clear to the other guy that you're his girlfriend.
You get a little annoyed by Rick's possessiveness and try to calm him down, but he's already worked up.
Rick's fear of losing you is a big factor in his jealousy, and he can get pretty intense when he thinks someone is trying to take you away from him.
You try to be patient with Rick and help him work through his issues, but it's not always easy.
You've had conversations with Rick about his past with Lori and how it's affecting his relationship with you.
You've also made it clear that you're not interested in anyone else and that Rick is the only one for you.
Despite the arguments, you and Rick have a strong connection, and you love each other deeply.
You try to remind Rick that you're not Lori and that he needs to trust you.
Rick struggles with his jealousy and possessiveness, but he's working on it.
You've talked about setting boundaries and how to deal with situations like this in the future.
You've also made it clear that you won't tolerate any disrespectful behavior from Rick or anyone else.
In the end, you and Rick always manage to work through your issues and come out stronger on the other side.

For my own urge of Grandma Emotional Support, can we maybe get a lil doodle of Minnie comforting or supporting morty? (I mentally imagine a grandmother figure as doting as Minnie would be easier for morty to confess some of The Horrors to. Like the disaster that was Mr Jellybean or when he had to murder the new friend he saved the life of. Any of the Horrors morty canonically chose to hide from Rick and probably wouldn't really tell his sorta-absentee parents. I simply desire Morty have the comfort of an adult figure that would comfort him aaaaughhh. Your grandma makes you a strawberry rhubarb pie and gives you a warm smile and u, a fucked up little guy, realize you could maybe talk to this particular adult.)(sorry this ask got. LOng.)
ok i waited to answer this bc i was already working on this comic that fit w/ what ur talking about, although im realizing now its less comforting/supportive and more General Grandmotherly Activities lol sorry

Idk man
Just thinking about all the future percabeth scenes we might get
The siren scene from SOM? Like on the boat but also the part where they’re like underwater for just a hot sec???
Walker and Leah would literally slay that scene and I would probs pass away

i was watching some rnm which left my dad talking about rick being an asshole to everybody and when he said that rick doesn't give a shit about morty i had to try sooo hard not to be weird about it lol. every nerve in my body was screaming like "AAAA! AAAAAA!!! infodump time! he doesn't understand, he doesn't get it, you must inform him of the character lore he's clearly missed!" but ik he doesn't care about that stuff because he's a very casual viewer of the show and doesn't even like it that much so i just disagreed without dropping an improvised speech about how actually morty is literally everything to him and here's a few thousand words on the topic. this took an olympic level of self control.

Rick and Harley only have eyes for each other, but unfortunately not everyone got the memo
Prompt was jealous quinnflag, sent in by @skyromaniac-05 and I 1000% used it as an excuse to write smutty quinnflag, because I missed it. This one is definitely getting shadowbanned (unless this hellsite surprises me) so I'ma post the link in a separate post so y'all can find it.
Rick’s minding his business on a couch at the former Black Mask club—sipping a beer and watching Harley having the time of her life on the dancefloor—when he’s approached by a random woman. She’s younger, blonde, and holding a glass of red wine. He ignores her at first when she plops down right next to him. She leans close and says, “Hey, I’ve never seen you here before.”
He snorts but doesn’t answer. He and Harley are actually here every Friday since it’s her favorite spot for dancing.
Instead of taking a hint, the lady doubles down on her efforts to engage him in conversation. “Oooh, I like your tattoos,” she comments—tracing her finger around the outline of the one on his right bicep.
He’s trying to think of the most polite way to tell her to back the fuck off and to stop touching him when he sees Harley stalking towards him—a scowl on her face that’s aimed at the woman who’s been trying to talk to him.
He internally breathes out a sigh of relief. Before he can greet her, she’s draping herself over his lap—crashing her lips into his.
He kisses back automatically—one hand going to her thigh and the other to the back of her neck to pull her closer. He vaguely registers whatshername (she may have told him her name, he wasn’t paying attention) storming off in a huff. He’s too busy to really give a shit.
They’re both breathing hard when they come up for air. “What was all that for?” he asks, once his brain is functioning again.
“She was all over you,” Harley pouts.
Oh. Oh! That… explained a lot.
He chuckles and slides his hand further up her thigh under her dress. He rasps in her ear, “Aww, Harls, you know you’re the only one I have eyes for, right?”
She bites her lip and nods. He grins and tells her, “Meet me behind the building in five minutes, darlin’.”
He watches her stand up and stumble towards the door on shaky legs. Oh, this is gonna be fun.
------------
Harley waits outside the club for what feels like an hour but is probably only a few minutes. She’s so horny she could cry and Rick’s taking his sweet ass time.
When he finally appears, she pounces on him immediately—legs going around his waist and lips crashing into his. She feels the rough brick wall on her back as he attacks her neck with nips and kisses—marking his territory.
“Fuck me!” she gasps.
He slides his hand up her inner thigh to her panties—which are soaked through. “Someone’s eager, huh?” he teases.
Oh god, she’s gonna bite his head off if he doesn’t fucking touch her already!
She’s cut off mid-thought when his fingers slip underneath her panties and drag through her wet heat up to her clit.
She moans loudly and encourages him to keep going. She’s so wound up that she comes embarrassingly fast on his fingers—but he’s not done with her.
She can feel his hands between their bodies as he fumbles with his belt buckle, and bites his neck—hard—to muffle her scream as he slams into her.
By the time they’re done, he’s as marked up as she is.
-------------
She’s giggling as they slip back inside the club. Rick’s hair is a post-fuck mess and she’s sure hers isn’t much better. She can’t help but smile smugly when she sees the bitch who was flirting with him earlier—scowling at the two of them while she sips her wine.
She makes a detour to the bathroom so she can straighten out her hair and has to bite her lip to suppress a moan when she sees just how marked up she is. God, she loves this man.
After reapplying her lipstick and putting her hair back up she heads over to the bar for another drink. She’s waiting for the bartender to notice her when she feels a hand grope her ass and a sleazy voice in her ear saying, “Hey baby, lemme buy you a drink.”
She tenses and grabs the hand that’s touching her. “I just want ya to know that my boyfriend is gonna kick your fuckin’ ass if you don’t back the fuck off.”
“She’s right, you know,” she hears, before Rick is shoving the guy away from her and then grabbing him by the collar.
Despite how dark it is in the club, she can see the guy’s face drain of color as he stammers out a half-assed apology.
Rick lets him go but watches him like a hawk until he sees him leave the club completely.
“You okay, Harls?”
“Yes and that was the second hottest thing I’ve ever seen,” she says as she yanks him down by the collar of his shirt. “Take me home, right the fuck now, Colonel.”
“Yes, ma’am,” he responds with a smirk. “But first we gotta close out our tab.”
Harley shrieks in frustration and Rick laughs, pulling her close and caressing her hip. “Patience, sweetheart,” he whispers in her ear.
They manage to make it back to their apartment building in record time.
But they don’t make it out of the truck.

I can’t believe that Rick canonically had a slap fight with an old man because he was jealous that Summer wanted to spend time with him
Like it 100% sounds like the sort of thing we would make up for a funny post on here but nope… canon
Edit: for some reason the order of the pictures is a bit fucked up but I can’t be bothered to fix it lol, sorry
#rick and morty#rnm#rick sanchez#summer smith#mr needful#rick is such a petty and dramatic manchild and i love it#honestly as much as s1 has its bad moments (such as the r word conversation in this very episode 😬) i love the way it portrays rick#like it’s very apparent that he’s jealous and needy and just bullshitting his way through life#he feels much more… human? if that makes sense#like yeah there’s a lot of fun stuff with the whole ‘smartest man in the universe’/god complex stuff#but it’s also nice when he’s just a man who’s very good at science and a massive dumbass in all other areas of life#honestly he’s much more emotionally vulnerable to the audience#like we see him here being insecure and needing summer’s approval#and later on in the episode when he’s very clearly lonely and bored alone in the house#and greets morty too enthusiastically and then corrects himself to try and seem cool#again i was really struck by how… nice he was in meeseeks and destroy after morty shouted at him#even before he realised what had happened to morty#(i know he was an asshole before that but still)#plus the citadel episode has him crying over his memories of morty#i think i just have a mental image of s1 based on the ‘anti-pc’ jokes and dudebro perceptions of it#so i forget what it’s actually like#i mean don’t get me wrong there are definitely a lot of extremely cringeworthy ‘anti-pc’ jokes#but rick is actually much more human in s1#also i find it so funny in this episode that at the end rick and summer actually work out#rather than rick just using some sort of technology to make them jacked#like i know they use steroids#but the fact that they actually went to all that effort cracks me up#also i would say this is the first episode where rick and summer start to actually develop their own interesting dynamic#which i love

I agree with you that the show doesn't write love triangle. Even with Jessie in S5 I remember thinking it was a miss opprtunity to show some Richonne tension or Jealous!Michonne but in retrospect I love that Michonne didn't get involve with the Rick/Jessie debacle. Homeboy was dealing with trauma and was in a way I think coming in term with the loss of his wife on his own. I don't even think they talked about it off-screen but I'm sure she knew. 1/2

extremely well put anon! we agree :) as you said, it would have been really fun to see those kind of tropey-romantic moments between them during that time, but that's not really the vibe of that show. and it's so true, i would much rather rick be completely free of his lori baggage before he started anything with michonne - she shouldn't have to be dealing with all of that. and of course, she needed time to settle too! that conversation with deanna was definitely a turning point for michonne - it was about time she started thinking about what she wanted for herself, and i'm so glad the show gave her some space to do so without throwing her into that sloppy jessie situation.
in any case, i think it happened perfectly on the show. that's not to say that it couldn't have been well done in some other way, but that is what fanfiction is for :)

Hello there 👋👀,
So I just found your blog and had a lot of fun scrolling through all the pjo show crit😂 I couldn't help but notice that one tag you left on a post where you said you had some beef with Annabeth's portrayal in the books 👀 Would you mind elaborating on that if you're comfortable with it🙈? Because I absolutely share that sentiment, but it's sooo veeeery rare that I see other people express anything like it... I've found that trying to be a part of the fandom can be pretty alienating most of the time, if you're not exactly the biggest most devoted Percabeth shipper...😅 And often any criticism leveled at Annabeth just gets you a smack with the "internalized-misogyny" hammer... it's even worse in the tv show now due to... obvious reasons...
Again just if you're comfortable with answering of course🙈 There is a reason I stayed on anon after all...😅😂
Really glad you asked because i finally get to ramble about this heheheh (going forward, know that i skimmed over The Last Olympian to have a clearer sense of what I meant because that's the book where Rick fumbles her character more than the others)
i'm gonna try to make as much sense as possible but short answer would be, she's underdeveloped. Long answer:
She really got on my nerves in the last two books, with the whole Rachel debacle and then the Battle of New York. I can't really remember a single moment in those books where she and Percy aren't bickering or having heated discussions, which really made me question their friendship status. Of course, it's not like friends can't fight and it obviously builds up the (romantic) tension between them, but it got unbearable at one point.
I understand she's a teenager in an incredibly stressful situation that didn't even get to have a normal upbringing- she grew up way too fast (run away at 7, head counselor at 12) while also not really maturing, which is not a problem for a character, if it is handled properly. Given the fact that I am writing this, Riordan did not.
On the surface, my biggest beef is that Annabeth is not exactly held accountable for her actions (ie. treating Rachel a bit like shit and going off on Percy for a bunch of stuff.) I know Percy is to blame a bit here: as far as we know, in TLO he basically cuts the greek world out of his life as much as he can as a coping mechanism. And while yes, he never apologizes either, he doesn't give her nearly half the hard time she gives him: always either giving him the cold shoulder (there must be at least one example of this in the entire series but i cant be bothered to look it up sorry) or starting an argument only to then storm off (see the "you're a coward, Percy Jackson!" scene, which is not the fairest example since she was confronting Percy about ignoring camp but also was a bit too harsh about it) (especially after finally reading the prophecy and being under the impression that he was absolutely going to die when he turned 16 lmao) or just straight up storming off (see, Annabeth reacting when Rachel shows up for the first time during the battle of new york). While most of these feel, at least to some degree, fairly justified given how the entire situation does an absolute number on her emotions, she comes off a bit brattish and like she's trying to rile Percy up, especially when it comes to Rachel, which in the context of a battle that could mean the destruction of the world.... Well, it reads as a bit childish to me, and i wouldn't exactly have that much of a problem with it if it was dealt with in some way (a two-way apology would be nice).
After that first impression, i realized that Annabeth is barely ever anything else other than a plot device (when relating to Luke) or a love interest (when relating to Percy). This might be because the books are on Percy's POV. Hell, on the third book he's even conflicted when Annabeth is considering joining the Hunters of Artemis, aka, when making a choice for herself would mean he loses her (which is fine and dandy but it feels like Percy is more upset about her choosing her own path rather than being sad about not seeing her as often); we really only get a few glimpses of her, as in, actually her when she's on her own.
Obviously it's impossible to talk about Annabeth without touching on percabeth, which also is, in my opinion, what hinders Annabeth's character the most. On paper they sound great. The guy whose fatal flaw is loyalty falls in love with a girl whose been let down by people over and over, and she decides to never give up on the boy whose always had people give up on him (can't find one of the million posts that talks about this right now but it always goes something like that) And yeah, the bickering is really well written! But that's literally as far as it ever goes: they don't ever seem to have fun together, because 8 times out of 10 the bickering ends up being passive aggressive, and mostly done by Annabeth. My biggest gripe about percabeth is that their friendship seems to be based off... shared trauma. Literally. Other than going on quests together we are given no examples of them hanging out, nor a reason why they would want to spend time together in the first place, not even a shared hobby. Yes, in the fourth book they had a movie "date" planned but of course they didn't even get to it, and surprise surprise, they had a minor discussion, and surprise surprise, Annabeth was passive aggressive again. It's hard to picture them having fun together when even the author doesn't write in any scenes in which they get along smoothly (and before you say anything, a scene in which they get along where neither of them is about to die, and they're not talking about previous adventures. Gets a bit hard then, doesn't it?) It's even harder to picture them as a couple when the moment she gets upset about something, she starts coming off as emotionally manipulative (see, again, literally any conversation with Rachel or about Rachel)
To be fair, the books are relatively short and don't allow many "filler" chapters, if you will; there's always something happening to keep the main plot or a minor plot point moving forward, but it's not like there is no room to develop the characters' relationships, especially when we're talking about the main char and what is essentially his endgame. As an example we have Percy and Clarisse, or Percy and Beckendorf. Their interactions are brief but still hold so much weight.
Worst of all, Annabeth could be one hell of a character; what's most interesting of all is how being a daughter of Athena she is still incredibly emotionally driven, which is displayed very clearly with her fatal flaw being pride: her telling the Sphynx that her questions were too easy was not smart nor strategic: it was completely impulsive. I seriously think she wasn't far from being the best character in the series had she been given more time.
I guess i have as much beef with Annabeth as i have with Rick for doing her dirty. I really could sum this up with: while her emotions are justified, she acts upon them quite poorly. And this is what i mean when i say she's underdeveloped, because it would've been nice to see her come to her senses a bit.
Would love to read anyone's opinions on her character though, feel free to comment, even (or especially) if you don't agree with me!
#pjo crit#anti percabeth#annabeth chase#percy jackson#tbotl#pjo tlo#the last olympian#percy jackson and the olympians#congrats anon on being my first ask!!!#sorry if it's too long or rambly i just have so many thoughts about her.#i dont hate her i dont even dislike her im just conflicted about her. sad that half of her conflict was being jealous over a boy#like yeah i guess said boy was the first real friend she ever had but also rick wrote it in a very “girls fighting over boy” kind of way#didn't really write it to make it seem like annabeth's reasons were anything more than just a hormonal teen acting out. there were no layer#sometimes i feel like im being unfair to annabeth and that maybe her being emotional and mean sometimes is her character and#she's actually written well and i just don't like her? but then i think over it and im not ready to give rick that kind of credit lmao#i truly believe he wrote her beef with rachel to entertain middle graders without really thinking twice about it#annabeth adds to the drama with her passive aggressive comments but at what cost.... maybe im reading too much into it idk#maybe i just find boy drama annoying..#but making it so that rachel is bound to maidenhood was such a lazy way to get rid of her as a romantic interest#the way rick butchered her character and any char dev for any of them in the tv show by rushing so many things... god. that's another story#if there are any typos i'll edit them later but my eyes are dry af right now and its late jdsjdfh anyway i hope my takes were interesting?#maybe i don't have that much beef with annabeth herself but the fact that percabeth is seen as the best endgame couple when i don't see it
