Eddie's common sense was clouded by jealousy
It was one of many typical Saturdays that Eddie spent with you. You both had been getting closer for some time, exchanged many kisses and became more inseparable than before.
Your usual hang out was centered in Eddie's room. On the floor next to the bed while Eddie was playing guitar and you were reading a magazine while lying half on the bed and half on the floor. Sometimes you both cuddle on the bed watching a rented movie. There were many ideas for the evening, but each one was based on spending it in each other's company.
That Saturday was full of TV watching until Eddie asked you to teach him how to braid hair. You sat on the floor so Eddie could see you hair better and showed him how to braid the strands. He tried several times until you could feel the change in the air. Eddie became withdrawn and quiet in a second, which was suspicious behavior for him.
You assured him that he didn't have to get everything right the first time and he could practice another day. Eddie just grunted and went back to watching TV. The next half of an hour passed in silence.
You felt very uncomfortable, so you stood up and, looking for you purse and began to say goodbye to Eddie.
- I guess I should go now. See you later.
- Why? Who are you rushing to?
- Eddie, it's clear that you don't want to spend time with me anymore today, and that's fine. Everyone wants to be alone from time to time.
- I don't want you to go - he said, holding your hand.
- You're showing something completely different.
Eddie didn't say anything for a long moment, so you let go of his hand and started walking towards the door.
- Are we exclusive?
- What?
- We've never talked about it, but are we exclusive?
- I hope so. On my side, we are. Where does this question come from?
- I just thought that even though no one officially said it, we were a couple.
- Where did you get the idea that it's different? I want the same thing as you.
- You have a hickey on your neck - Eddie said, looking down. - And I didn't make that one.
- What? - you asked confused, walking closer and sitting next to him.
- Right here - he pointed.
- Ow - you hissed as Eddie lightly touched the red spot on the back of your neck.
- Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you - Eddie admitted, embarrassed by the whole conversation.
You couldn't understand how the red spot appeared on your neck. However, you knew that it was definitely not a hickey.
It took a moment for you to laugh lightly.
- At least it's funny for you - Eddie said grumpily.
- Silly boy, were you upset at me for half the day because you were jealous of my burn?
- What? - asked the surprised boy.
- While doing curls for yesterday's date, I accidentally touched myself with a hot curling iron. I forgot about it until you touched on this spot.
Eddie was red from the tips of his ears to his neck.
- I didn't mea-. I don't know wh-. I'm so so sorry - he began to stammer in embarrassment and apologize.
- I'm not mad, silly. Jealousy has clouded your common sense. But at least now we know the official start of our relationship and we know when to celebrate our anniversary - you said amused.
- Oh no, please. Pick any other day but don't remind me of these situation every year.
- Come here, my jealous hansome man - you held out your arms for him to fall into your embrace. - I can't promise anything...

Exactly one year later, as you celebrated your first anniversary, you couldn't let Eddie forget his mistake.
However, he had his own special idea to honour that situation and at the end of the day you could see your neck in the mirror all covered in red spots. But this time they didn't come from a curling iron. It was Eddie's art.

hi! i love your works so much and i have a request ^^ i wanted to ask if you could do a jealous and/or possessive eddie? maybe where steve and eddie are super close to finally admitting they like each other and just need one more push or something, or they're just newly dating. they're both at a gay bar, and steve's been receiving lots of stares and heated gazes from some of the ppl there? maybe a person was brave enough to try but eddie's right beside him watching the entire interaction.
i've come across a fair share amount of jealous/possessive steve in steddie stories and i wanted to see it being eddie for a change. tysm in advance and i can't wait to read the other requests with your amazing writing <3
I LOVE possessive Eddie!!! I really only see it in Kas!Eddie or vampire Eddie situations and I wish it was written more for just regular old human Eddie who just has entirely too much love for Steve to contain his emotions when someone else tries to make a move. I hope you like this little thing (2500 words!) I came up with and the other requests I've been putting out so far! - Mickala ❤️
---------------------------------------------------------
Robin convinced them she needed support.
Support Steve’s ass.
She was doing just fine from the moment they stepped in the door of this place.
So fine, in fact, she’d abandoned him and Eddie before they even got their first round of drinks brought to them.
Steve sat at the table with Eddie, awkwardly watching as people kept dancing and drinking and making out in dark corners of the bar.
He tried not to look too much, though. He didn’t want anyone to think he wasn’t comfortable here.
Quite the opposite, actually.
He’d been here a couple of times with just Robin: once before he figured out he was into men, once before he figured out he was into Eddie, and once more before this where he tried very hard to be into Eddie and failed.
But Eddie had insisted on coming when he overheard them talking about it, saying he hadn’t been here since high school and could use a night in a place where he could just be himself.
As if he wasn’t always obnoxiously (and beautifully) himself.
Robin had given Eddie a Look, but nodded in agreement, saying it would be awesome to have both her favorite guys there.
Which rubbed Steve a little wrong because he was her only favorite guy.
But he got over it because now Eddie was his only company, probably for the entire night going off of the way the girl with Robin was staring at her.
Ogling her.
Steve sighed. Eddie sighed.
They looked at each other and laughed.
“She do this to you every time?”
“No, usually we stick together. Must feel brave since you’re here with me.”
“Awww, she trusts me.”
Steve rolled his eyes, but there was probably more truth to that than he cared to admit.
Robin was often afraid to leave him alone, but she never hesitated if Eddie was with him.
He felt people staring at him, but he ignored it. He wasn’t here to find anyone and it would be silly to even try knowing that Eddie was right there.
But he’d be lying if he said it didn’t feel good to have people checking him out. He used to thrive on it in high school, feeling seen by anyone was better than being seen by no one.
Then, he hated it. He wanted to be invisible and he wanted everyone to focus on anyone and anything else in the room. He got his wish most of the time.
Until Eddie.
Eddie always included him in everything, pointing out when he was being quiet or moody, asking him questions to involve him in conversations, making sure he understood what Dustin was saying which was a challenge often.
He would touch his arm when he passed by him on the way to grab a drink from the kitchen or let their thighs touch on the couch on movie nights.
He let him come over after work on the nights he was too riled up, needing to let out some of his energy with a walk, but being too scared to do it alone.
So Eddie saw him, and made others see him, and he didn’t always love it, but he accepted it.
Tonight felt different, though.
All these eyes on him meant that people found him attractive, maybe wanted to dance with him or bring him home. If Eddie weren’t here, he’d maybe give it a shot with someone, try to find a way out of this hole he dug himself into with the first guy he’d admitted to himself he had feelings for.
But he also felt Eddie’s eyes on him, practically burning a hole through the side of his face every time he looked out at the crowd.
He felt heat crawling up his neck, to his cheeks.
Having all of Eddie’s attention was a lot for anyone, but especially Steve, who frequently thought about what it would be like to have Eddie’s attention on him in bed, or in the shower, or on the couch, or the pool, or-
“Did you want another drink?”
Steve looked down at the drink in his hand. He’d barely finished half of it, so he didn’t really know why Eddie was asking unless he just needed an excuse to get up.
“Um. No thanks. Probably should just have one anyway.”
“Sure.”
Eddie got up with his empty glass and started walking towards the bar.
Almost as soon as Eddie was gone, a taller man in a suit was taking his place at the table.
“Well, hi there, honey. Never seen you here before. First time?”
The guy was older, mid-thirties at least, and probably not the type of guy Steve would want to experiment with. But he was flirting, and he was kind of cute.
Steve could let himself enjoy a little casual flirting, right? It wouldn’t have to lead to anything.
“No, but I don’t come often.”
Steve rested his arms on the table, head in his hand. He grinned at the man, that Harrington charm practically beaming off of him.
“You could come tonight if you wanted to join me in the back.”
That was smooth. Sleazy, but smooth.
Steve didn’t drop his grin, but he shook his head.
“I don’t think I’m interested in just hooking up in the bathroom. Maybe you could buy me a drink?”
He had no intention of drinking another drink, but he figured this guy would lose interest if he showed he was more needy.
He was wrong.
The guy practically tripped over his feet to stand up from the booth.
“What would you like?”
“Oh. Uh.”
“He’s good, man. How about you go buy a drink for someone interested?”
Eddie came out of nowhere. Seriously, Steve had just seen him at the bar a few seconds before he spoke.
“Is this your boyfriend or something?”
Steve cleared his throat awkwardly as Eddie stood taller, more intimidating.
“Does it matter? I’m asking you nicely to go.”
“I don’t think it’s up to you. I asked him.”
Eddie looked like he wanted to punch the guy, and Steve could admit to himself silently that he wanted to see it.
But he didn’t quite understand why Eddie was reacting like this; He’d assumed Eddie would want to try to hook up with someone while he was here and wouldn’t want to spend all his time with Steve.
“Steve? Do you wanna get a drink with this guy?”
No, he didn’t. He hadn’t even before Eddie came back. But a part of him had to wonder if maybe Eddie’s reaction was just to protect Steve from an older guy.
“I actually have to drive us back home so I probably shouldn’t have another drink. Thanks though.”
The guy mumbled something before turning and leaving, shaking his head as he walked to the bar.
Eddie slid into the booth next to him instead of across from him, letting most of their sides touch.
Steve couldn’t help the way his body naturally curled into Eddie’s, the comfort and safety of his body drawing Steve in without effort.
It should have ended there. Steve should have just let himself stay rested against Eddie’s side until Robin was done.
He did for a minute, but then his brain decided it needed explanations.
“What was wrong with that guy buying me a drink?”
Eddie was quiet for a moment, his body tense against Steve’s.
“I just don’t think he was the right kind of person to be buying you a drink. You deserve better than that.”
Steve’s brows furrowed.
Eddie didn’t know the guy, he could’ve been really nice. Other than the propositioning as his first line, he seemed like he was willing to do whatever Steve wanted to get more time with him.
“Who is the right kind of person then?”
“Someone younger. Maybe someone who doesn’t wear a damn suit to a gay bar. This is a casual place, there’s no need to flaunt your super important job. Plus, he could see your drink was still half full, he should’ve known you didn’t want one.”
“You offered me a drink before you got up.”
“That’s different.”
“How?”
“Because I’m not trying to get you drunk to sleep with me.”
Yeah, and wasn’t that a shame?
Steve dropped it. It wasn’t worth arguing with Eddie and he didn’t want to ruin any of the fun they could have.
“Should we dance?”
Eddie pulled away and looked at him like he’d grown a second head.
“You want to dance with me?”
“Why not? We’ve been abandoned by Robin and the music isn’t bad.”
The music wasn’t bad to Steve. Eddie, however, was suffering through it as it was, and that was without having to dance to it.
“Pleeeeease?” Steve pouted at Eddie, eyes wide.
“You can’t make that face. It’s not fair.”
Steve kept making the face because being fair wasn’t something he cared about.
Eddie stood up, holding his hand out towards Steve to help him stand from the table.
Steve took it, ignoring the way he wanted to collapse against Eddie the second he stood up.
They made it to the dance floor, where a surprising amount of people were dancing in pairs and small groups, enjoying the fact that they could safely here.
Just when Steve turned to Eddie, the music changed to Head Over Heels by Tears For Fears.
Steve tried not to take it as a sign.
Eddie suddenly looked even more nervous, like he’d planned on maybe getting away with just jumping around to the music and now he couldn’t.
Just when Steve was going to give him an out, another guy, this one younger, but not as nice looking, wrapped his arm around Steve’s shoulder.
“How ‘bout we dance, sugar?”
The guy was drunk.
Steve wasn’t interested in ruining his favorite song by dancing with this drunk guy.
“He’s busy,” Eddie said firmly.
The guy backed up a bit, but still had his hand against Steve’s arm, resting there with enough of a grip to keep him upright.
“Sorry, you got somethin’ against me dancin’ with him?”
“Yeah, that’s why I just said he’s busy.”
Eddie pushed the guy’s hand off of Steve’s arm and put his own around Steve’s waist, pulling him against his side with no room for air or argument.
Steve tried to catch his breath, his heart skipping a beat and his lungs exhaling instead of inhaling.
“Maybe you should let him say if he’s busy or not.”
Steve was missing his favorite song to argue with a guy he wasn’t interested in when he could be dancing with Eddie.
Unacceptable.
“I’m dancing with him. Find someone else.”
The guy rolled his eyes and walked away.
Eddie turned and adjusted his arms so they rested on Steve’s hips.
Steve didn’t know what to do.
“Have you never slow danced before, King Steve?”
“Uh. Just once.”
“Oh? Let me help you then.”
Eddie took his hands in his own and gently placed them around his neck, pulling himself closer to Steve when his hands found his hips again.
“This okay?”
“Yeah.”
Steve wasn’t sure how this was happening, how this was real.
He just knew he didn’t want it to end.
He rested his head against Eddie’s shoulder, letting himself enjoy what would probably be his only chance at dancing with Eddie for the rest of his life.
“Why do you keep sending people away?”
Why was Steve determined to ruin tonight with his stupid fucking questions?
“What do you mean?”
“It just seems like you don’t wanna share.”
Eddie didn’t respond.
Steve looked up at him, but his face was hard to read in the darkness of the bar.
“Eds?”
“I don’t.” Eddie cleared his throat. “I don’t wanna share you. I like having you all to myself. Sorry if I’ve ruined your night.”
He started to pull away and Steve panicked. He couldn’t say that and then leave.
“What do you mean? You haven’t ruined anything. I wanted to spend it with you, anyways.”
Eddie was searching his eyes, looking for any sign of a lie.
“Steve, I-” The song changed, but it was another slow song. They kept slowly rocking and staring at each other. “I have to tell you something. You’re probably gonna hate me and wanna leave me here in Indy.”
Steve gulped. Could he possibly have feelings for Steve?
“I uh. I sent them away because I was jealous.”
“What? Why?”
“Because I love you so fucking much I don’t know what to do with it all the time! Sometimes I hide in the bathroom during movie nights so I can scream into the towels. Do you know how ridiculous that is? I’ve even been caught by Max before and she promised not to say anything if I gave her $20.”
“Oh.”
Oh? What the hell Steve, say something else.
“So, I get it if you hate me. I mean, I don’t know how this happened and I have no right to send potential dates away because I want to keep you to myself.”
Steve leaned up and placed a kiss on Eddie’s cheek.
“I’m glad you got jealous.”
Eddie was blushing now.
“What?”
“If you hadn’t been jealous, you probably wouldn’t have told me all this, would you?”
“No, I guess not.”
“You know what helps with jealousy?”
Eddie looked down at him, more confused than ever.
Steve didn’t wait for him to respond.
“Making out in the bathroom of a gay bar.”
Eddie’s eyes practically bugged out of his head as he registered what Steve was saying.
“You wanna do that? With me?”
“Well, I certainly don’t wanna do it with anyone else. And you won’t let me do it with anyone else. So maybe we should do it together.”
Eddie grabbed his wrist and wordlessly led them to the bathroom in the back of the bar.
It wasn’t empty, but the single stall was available and Eddie made it pretty clear what their intentions were when he dragged Steve right into it, closing and locking the door only a second before his hot lips were on Steve’s.
It was better than what Steve could have possibly imagined, but still not enough.
Now that he knew Eddie wanted him, he wanted everything Eddie could give him.
And Eddie seemed to want to give it all to him.
His lips were almost too much, but Steve couldn’t get enough.
They weren’t even in a bathroom anymore, floating high above the clouds with happiness and contentment.
Until a knock on the stall door nearly made Steve give himself another concussion.
“Dingus One and Dingus Two! Super happy for you both, but it’s time to go.”
“Shit.”
“What time is it?”
“It’s nearly one in the morning and we agreed to leave by midnight. I got distracted by boobies.”
“Don’t we all,” Steve said, as Eddie let out a loud laugh.
They opened the stall door and Robin sighed.
“Fix your hair. I’ll be at the car.”
Steve looked in the mirror as she left the bathroom, smirking at Eddie’s reflection behind him in a similar state of disarray.
“Okay?”
“So okay.”
“You owe me a dance.”
“What? Why? We danced!”
“But it got interrupted. And I wanna dance with you.”
Eddie sighed, but smiled fondly at Steve.
“I’ll dance with you whenever you want, sweetheart.”

༘✶ ⋆。˚ ੈ♡General Yandere Eddie munson hcs
Tumblr media
A/n-Felt like the end was a bit rushed but y'know, was just curious abt this Eddie heh, also I do NOT condone this behavior in real life
Pairing:Yandere!Eddie Munson x Gn!Reader
Summary:Just what yandere Eds would be like ;)
Warnings:slight spoilers,stalking,eddie being a perv💀,drink spiking,kidnapping,obsessive behavior,controlling behavior,suggestive themes,cursing,ooc
Word count-703
*Not edited
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
-Very skittery and paranoid yandere
-Let's get this one thing clear, once Eddie's interested he will literally become obsessed
-You would simply be walking through the halls before bumping into him(cliche ik).You would mutter a small 'sorry' while giving him a meek smile, and you had no idea what you had just started. As you walked away Eddie stood there awestruck, trying to slow down his beating heart
-Why did this catch his attention?Because you had already known who he was, actually you had been acquainted in middle school,so that meant you knew about his social status as the town 'freak'.Yet you continued to he nice to him,he would begin to see you as a small, defenseless little thing that needed someone to protect you
-After that he would start purposely bumping into you, saying things like,"We gotta stop running into each other like this."ugh that sly dog, anyway you would just laugh it off, mind being somewhere else.He seemed sweet enough,so when he asked you if you had wanted to hang out,you agreed
-Even tho Eddie isnt best known for how social he is,he knew that he had to try and get you with someway or another.Days turned into weeks and weeks into months. After getting to know each other(although might just be him learning abt you),you were both fairly close. So that meant he came over to your house all the time
-Yet you still didn't know about his escapades and why he came over so much. You especially didn't know why multiple pieces of your clothes had went missing
-However if you did know, welll let's just say you would certainly drop Eds.It would mostly be when your showering,Eddie would would walk around your room, staring and imprinting every last piece of your room into his mind
-The first time he stole something of yours was just a little pen(which by the he still keeps by his bedside),he was nervous you would somehow notice the pen missing and call him out on it,but as you started to trust him more and more he knew he could get away with more stuff. So gradually over time he would start taking bigger things
-"Hey mom have you seen my sweater?""Oh no sorry honey, haven't seen it for ages."
-Meanwhile Eddie would literally be sniffing the garment as he cuddled it
-So yea,you really shouldn't leave anything around him,and once he finds a pair of your worn panties?let's just say you're never getting that back again💀👀
-He always has a little box he keeps with all your things in one of his shelfs, not joking
-He would make his behavior obvious, although you would be slightly weirded out on how much he talked about his distaste for any of your friends who were close to you
-He would constantly try to make wedges between you and your other friends, which you would notice and take your friends side, and Eddie would def be a bit pissed, bit since hes also a bit delusional he'll think your friends were forcing you to or something
-For a few excruciating months after you calling him out,you would ignore him,and Eddie desperately needed to see you every day,at least in his mind
-And what does he do instead of calling? He ends up watching you from your window every night 0-o
-like seriously get some curtains
-Doesnt matter which part of the day he will always find comfort watching you
-And by the way hes definitely going to scare the shit out of some of your friends, threatening them to stay away from you(they dont)
-Your relationship is practically non-existent by the time Eddie's framed for Chrissys murder. And although he wouldn't have kidnapped you in normal circumstances,he knew that if he had to hide he would bring you too.And since he knew he wasn't the actual murderer he was terrified something would happen to you
-He would follow you to a party and ask one of his bandmates to flirt with you while spiking your drink
-It was no surprise when you awoke to a banging headache a familiar metalhead staring down at you
-You would of course freak out,but he would just silence you and tell you everything was going to be ok(which you said was b.s)
-Evantually Eddie would leave to get food and you would find a shard of glass strong enough to slice through the rope you were tied up in
-You would pass by the box which was open, and be internally screaming, just who did you let in your house?
-You would run like hell, and the chance that Eddie ever had with u would📉
-no promises that he won't find you again and just hide you better💃

Yo I got an Eddie request, specifically an angsty one.
What about a Eddie x other woman! Reader
Where she's like Eddie's long time best friend and will do anything to keep Eddie happy since he's treated as an outcast and through the years of their friendship she falls in love with him but then Chrissy happens. He's planning to ask her out to prom, however reader wanted to ask HIM out, but instead helps him out to ask Chrissy out to prom. And so prom rolls around and she watches Eddie dance with Chrissy while she's on the bleachers watching, soon after prom she hears that him and Chrissy are dating and that breaks her heart but she doesn't say anything to keep the friendship.
You can choose the ending btw :)
Combining this with this ask!
Anon: Ok hi, can you do an Eddie x reader fic where the reader is a little bit jealous of how close Eddie and Chrissy have become, but he reassures the reader that Chrissy is just a friend/drug customer and there’s absolutely nothing to worry about?
Hoping it have it out within the next week or so :)

green with envy (even as i'm blushing like a cherry) (5960 words)
eddie munson x steve harrington ao3 if that's what you prefer :)
Tumblr media
tonight’s the night. eddie finally invited steve to the hideout to see corroded coffin play after months of his friends/bandmates badgering the everloving fuck out of him and pressuring him to just give in.
in theory, eddie figured it wouldn’t be stressful by any means; he’s just playing another gig — a gig where his best friend raging fucking crush will be somewhere in the crowd, watching him. in practice, eddie was vibrating with nerves, more so than usual. he’s been anxiously nibbling at his fingernails for the past thirty minutes, but thankfully everything is set up on stage and ready to go.
eddie could not believe he somehow convinced steve "the hair" harrington to attend a metal show. well, a more-than-amateur metal show where the crowd consists of mostly drunks and stoners, but a metal show nonetheless. however, the thought of steve being in the crowd — being there for eddie — made eddie’s stomach do somersaults as he not-so-subtly peaked out through the curtains to gaze out over the growing crowd from backstage. his heart felt like a bass drum, double-foot pedals slamming into the vital muscle, threatening to obliterate the fragile membrane.
god, this couldn’t be fucking happening. he’s never been this nervous before a show. not even the first show corroded coffin actually got to play at the hideout. then, he’d been high on adrenaline and weed and utterly buzzing with anticipation. now, he’s stone cold sober and jittering with fear and anxiety.
he needs a fucking cigarette.
but that thought is immediately crushed when a hand lands gently on his shoulder, causing him to jump. eddie swings his head around to see gareth looking at him as he carefully withdraws his hand.
”dude, you good?” gareth asks, concern subtly gleaming in his eyes.
eddie blinks a few times then nods. “yeah. i’m fine,” he tells him, near breathlessly.
gareth scrunches up his eyebrows. “it’s just another show, eddie,” he reminds him. there was something in his voice that was making eddie’s skin itch.
yeah, a show where steve harrington will be watching my every fucking move.
”and just because steve is gonna be here doesn’t mean it’ll be any different,” gareth continues, as if he were able to read eddie’s thoughts. “we’re gonna kick ass either way.”
eddie bit down on his tongue and forced himself to agree with gareth. because gareth was right, after all, like he goddamn always is. it was just another show that steve just so happened to agree to attend. it’s not a big deal, and eddie internally scolds himself for making it seem like it was honestly and truly a bigger deal than it really was.
gareth stood by his side until it was time for corroded coffin to take the stage. eddie forced down a few deep lungfuls of stagnant air that smelt like alcohol and sweat, and stiffly followed after his bandmates.
like gareth had said: just another show. and that’s exactly what it was. eddie successfully got his mind off steve so he could focus on traipsing his nimble fingers up and down the neck of his beloved warlock and nailing each strumming pattern. he got lost in the music, and didn’t bother paying that much attention to the obvious groupies that were front and center of the crowd or frantically searching the faces before him for steve. (and thankfully, the lights were bright enough that they prevented eddie from looking further beyond the corroded coffin groupies.)
fortunately, their set ended with raucous cheering and whooping, and eddie was able to catch his breath. unfortunately, the lights came back on and eddie finally got to see everything in front of him, which meant he instantly began searching the sea of faces for steve.
the cymbals and bass and wailing guitar were all still shouting mercilessly in his chest when he finally spotted steve. he was sat at the bar, and he visibly brightened when he caught eddie’s eye. eddie was about to wave at him in greeting when steve’s attention was drawn elsewhere.
a man approached steve. eddie couldn’t make out any defining features from the stage so he didn’t know who it was. but he started talking to steve like they were old friends, snatching his gaze that had been lingering on eddie a bit too long.
eddie huffed as he began packing up his guitar as jeff, gareth, and grant were already hauling their shit off-stage. eddie helped them get everything into the back of his van before they all headed back inside. although, the cold night air felt refreshing on his sweaty skin, so he may have stayed outside a few minutes longer than necessary. definitely not so he could avoid steve just a bit longer.
as he was about to dive into the crowd, eddie’s eyes found steve with no trouble. steve and the mystery man were talking, their heads angled inward, too close for eddie’s taste. there was a twinge underneath his sternum, and the remaining adrenaline coursing throughout his body was coiling into an untidy knot in the pit of his stomach at the sight.
steve was smiling widely at the man and laughing at something he had said when eddie got in front of him. steve noticed him and essentially threw himself at eddie, his arms coiling around eddie’s neck and eddie’s wrapped around steve’s waist. the proximity was soothing and calmed eddie down, calmed his post-show nerves and eased that unnecessary weight from his shoulders.
steve pulled away too soon for eddie’s liking. but the beaming grin on his face was almost worth it.
”eddie! that was fucking amazing,” steve complimented him. “why have i never seen you perform until tonight?”
eddie shrugged. “didn’t think you’d want to come,” he admitted as he shoved his hands into the front pockets of his jeans. “y’know, i figured the metal scene wasn’t somewhere you’d feel comfortable or welcome, so i never asked.”
”well, you are an incredible guitar player, so i’m definitely coming more often.”
the way steve said that made eddie’s stomach twist and jolt with apprehension. but he would be lying if he said he didn’t like the feel.
and the way he was looking at eddie? if eddie didn’t have a firm grip on his self-control at the moment he would be pouncing on steve in an instant. finally get to see what the hype was all about when it came to kissing steve harrington. finally get to see what it was like to taste him as their tongues collided and—
“oh, eddie!” steve’s voice knocked him out of his head. “this is ash,” he said, gesturing to the man standing beside him.
now, eddie finally turned his attention to the mystery man. he hadn’t spared him a second glance since he first spotted steve right after their set.
ash was a few inches taller than steve, just like eddie. his wavy hair was dyed black — a shitty box dye at best, if eddie had to guess — and hung delicately around his face. he wore a dingy denim jacket that was decorated with some band patches and pins, with a bad religion t-shirt underneath. his jeans were tattered and torn, adorned with patches of different fabric patterns and accessorized with safety pins and a couple chains. he had on annoyingly chunky black combat boots, and eddie could just make out bland black socks sticking out. a small silver ring stuck out of each earlobe and a stud clung to one nostril.
a punk at a metal show.
a punk with steve harrington at a metal show, no less.
eddie must be fucking dreaming.
“ash, this is eddie, eddie, this is ash,” steve introduced them.
ash gave him a tight lipped smile and a brief nod before turning his attention back to steve. the gesture set something off inside of eddie, and he didn’t have the guts to give it a name. at least right now.
this guy wasn't rubbing eddie the right way, and he needed to get away. of course, he didn't want to leave steve, whose eyes kept returning to eddie every few seconds. that alone would keep eddie glued to where he was standing. but ash the punk was crowding into steve's space and giving eddie the cold shoulder.
"um . . . well, th-thanks for coming, stevie," eddie said to steve as enthusiastically and genuinely as he could muster. ash was now fully standing in between steve's legs, effectively stealing steve's attention entirely. the sight made eddie grit his teeth until it hurt.
without another word or attempt at getting steve to acknowledge him, eddie spun on his heel and walked away. he shoved his way through the crowd until he was backstage. none of the guys were idling back behind the curtain when he stepped into the secluded area. eddie groaned, grabbing his leather jacket and stomping for the back door.
thankfully, the guys were standing next to his van. they were definitely still hyper with adrenaline but very obviously coming down. gareth was twirling one of his drumsticks around his fingers as he leaned against the van. jeff was bouncing on the balls of his feet while grant was half-asleep next to him.
but as soon as they caught sight of eddie, all signs of exhaustion vanished and they were talking at him at a million miles an hour.
"what'd harrington think of his first corroded coffin performance?" grant asked.
"yeah, he had to have had some choice words for it," jeff added from where he was leaning against grant. "was he polite about hating it or what?"
grant and jeff kept badgering eddie with random questions from the left and the right. and honestly, eddie couldn't find it in himself to care. because frankly, he was exhausted, hungry, and maybe just a little bit pissed off. gareth happened to notice his strained expression and finally relieved eddie of the chatterboxes they call friends.
"you guys are assholes," gareth cut in, his tone bland. "we had a damn good show, right? how 'bout we just head home? eddie can tell us tomorrow.”
god bless gareth.
so eddie reluctantly climbed into the driver's seat and, once everyone was in, he swerved out of the hideout's parking lot. and if his throat was tight from the urge to cry then that's for him to know, and him only.
the next morning eddie felt like a corpse. his limbs were heavy and his head was numb as he shuffled to the kitchen for some breakfast.
as he sat and ate his sad cereal, dejectedly eating it on the couch, eddie found himself reminiscing about the night before. he remembered having an anxiety attack all day because steve had agreed to go see corroded coffin perform. which meant his mind reminded him of the fact that steve hadn't been alone. he had someone with him, a punk for fuck's sake.
it was more than obvious that the guy didn't want to be there. eddie could tell he had been slightly uncomfortable in a metal-dominated environment but was too proud to say so.
what was his name again? crash? rash? eh, eddie could care less.
the way he had been all over steve sent a paralyzing shiver up eddie's back. he had been deliberately stealing steve's attention, something eddie was 100% sure of.
but steve had been there to support a friend. just a friend. eddie and steve were nothing more, so eddie had no reason to feel like this. whatever this is.
and, it's not like eddie and steve flirt like there's no tomorrow. or that they are always pressed up against each other even when there's plenty of open space around them. or when steve will show up to the trailer whenever eddie calls, when eddie is bored or lonely, or just wants to see him (which he never outright says). and definitely not when steve will cuddle with him without complaint.
yeah. none of that means they're more than friends.
although, eddie can’t help it. he can’t push away the pulsing ache in his chest. he can’t clear away the lovesick fog from his brain. just the thought of steve hanging out with someone that wasn't him — save for anyone else in the party — made him sick.
he wants steve, and he wants steve to himself. he doesn’t want to share. and he sure as hell isn’t going to share with a bitchy fucking punk.
jesus christ, he needs help.
eddie finishes his cereal and sets aside his empty bowl. he sots back against the couch cushions, anxiously nibbling on his bottom lip.
maybe that is what he needs: help. maybe he should just go to steve and talk to him, tell him how he has the biggest fucking crush on him and how it makes him physically ill to think of him with anyone that isn't him.
eddie nearly laughed at himself for just thinking that.
what about robin? robin could help. yes, robin could help eddie!
and he knew for a fact robin was working at the family video today. he could get her alone, in case steve is working, and tell her what's going on.
genius.
unfortunately, when he shows up to the family video, eddie is met with the sight of steve's bmw parked out front. eddie is suddenly nervous, especially as he forces himself to go inside.
but someone basically rams into him when he walks through the door. eddie finds himself apologizing before recognizing who collided with him.
fucking trash.
the punk grimaced at the sight of him but changed his demeanor completely when there was a laugh from further in the store.
back behind the front counter was steve, who was hiding his smile underneath his hand. his shoulders were gently shaking from laughing, and it made eddie see stars.
"ash, you remember eddie, right?" steve said as his giggles were dying down.
ash — eddie liked trash more — gave steve a curt nod. he turned back to eddie, his eyes cold and dark.
"yeah, i remember him," he replied, but only loud enough for eddie to hear. "i'll catch ya later, steve," he called over his shoulder before pushing past eddie out the door.
eddie grumbled under his breath as he made his way over to steve. he forced a smile that quickly turned genuine at seeing steve already smiling gently at him.
”hi, eddie,” steve greeted him.
”hiya, stevie.” eddie grinned brightly at him as he planted his palms flat on the surface of the counter, leaning forward until he was nearly in steve’s space. “how’s it goin’?”
”it’s going okay,” steve says. his eyes are soft as he stares at eddie. “better now.”
”yeah? why’s that?”
steve shrugged with one shoulder. “i mean, you’re here, so,” he tells eddie.
this makes eddie smile even wider and brighter, his grin rivaling the summer sun outside.
”oh? little ol’ me?”
steve doesn’t respond. all he does is gnaw on his bottom lip, clearly biting back a smile, and avoids eddie’s eyes. it has eddie’s heart swooping down to his stomach.
”well, as much as i would love to stay and chat, i need to talk to robin,” eddie explains, once he is sure he has steve’s blushing face imprinted on his brain. “she here?”
the diverting conversation has steve finally meeting his eyes, but he looks a little disappointed. although, maybe eddie was imagining it, because the look is gone in the blink of an eye.
”i’m covering for rob today,” steve says. he has the ghost of a grin stretching his lips. “said she had a family thing.”
fuck.
now eddie has to wait to talk to robin. he sure as hell isn’t driving over to her house after this. no way.
”shit, okay.” eddie couldn’t swallow the slight panic that had found its way into his voice.
”is everything okay, eds?” steve asks, his eyebrows scrunching up.
eds. eds. eds.
fucking hell, this boy was going to be the death of eddie.
”uh, y-yeah, everything’s fine, stevie,” eddie says in assurance. “just had a question for robin. it can wait, though.”
steve nods, though he doesn’t look completely convinced.
”but i’ve gotta go now. talk to ya later.”
eddie begins to walk back towards the exit when he finds himself stopping just as he is about to reach for the handle to the door. he bites down on his lip as hard as he can before turning back towards steve.
”y’wanna go see corroded coffin again next friday?”
steve’s eyes are wide as he nods enthusiastically.
”yeah, of course! i’d love to.”
”sick.” eddie smiles at steve once more. “i’ll see ya later, sweetheart.”
and with that, eddie finally pushes the door and leaves the family video. he harshly bites his lip as he’s getting in to his van, scolding himself for inviting steve to the hideout again. at this point he’s basically setting himself up for failure, especially if steve brings stash next week. the thought sends a jolt of discomfort down eddie’s spine as he starts the van and gets the hell out of that parking lot.
-----
eddie didn’t see either steve or robin the rest of the week. he was terrified for friday night but he had to get over himself one way or another. so if that meant seeing his crush bring another guy to his band’s gig, then so fucking be it, right?
gareth had definitely noticed eddie’s change in behavior since he first invited steve to the hideout. eddie hadn’t disclosed anything him or the rest of the band, but gareth had seen steve and his plus-one during their performance last week. he knew eddie wouldn’t react well.
and react well eddie did not.
eddie ended up ranting to gareth profusely after going to family video for robin, where he saw steve instead. he had bitched on and on about ash, the annoying punk who had stolen steve’s attention like it were a pot of gold, something that could be bought and used for his own gain.
if eddie were being honest, he doesn’t have anything against punks. he thinks they’re great people and that they are a very welcoming community. but ash had rubbed him wrong, and he couldn’t place his finger on why. their brief interactions had a left a permanent sour taste in eddie’s mouth.
now, here he is, just like he was the week prior: standing in the shadows of the curtain, anxiously waiting for corroded coffin to go on stage while he scoured the growing crowd for a glimpse of steve.
eddie didn’t catch sight of steve before they had to take the stage. he lost himself in the music, just like always, and hoped to whatever deity that may be watching over him that steve was here. that steve was here, not steve and ash.
but the almighty deity or whatever the fuck is a cruel bastard. because as he was done loading all of corroded coffin’s instruments and gear into the back of his van, eddie saw steve sitting next to ash at a booth. and robin?
without thinking, eddie pushed his way through the crowd until he reached his friends’ table. steve was the first to spot him, who jumped to his feet and hugged eddie tightly. he didn’t seem to notice — or care — that eddie was still sweaty from performing, or how eddie clung to him longer than usual.
robin sure did, though!
robin cleared her throat from behind eddie. steve pulled away from eddie rather quickly at that, and sat back down next to ash, who was toying with one of his necklaces, obviously bored. but eddie couldn’t bring himself to care, especially as robin gave him a speedy hug before sliding into the booth.
”eddie, that was awesome!” robin compliments him once he is sat on the end of the booth across from steve. “you guys rock.”
”aw, thanks, rob,” eddie says with a genuine smile.
robin continues talking at eddie, but he’s just so tired that he begins spacing out. his head is swimming and his heart rate hasn’t calmed down much since the band finished their set. he doesn’t think he’ll stick around much longer before heading home.
before eddie can bring himself to politely cut robin off, steve speaks up.
”hey, i’m gonna go get some drinks,” he announces as he stands. he looks at ash. “c’mon. you can come help me.”
ash rolls his eyes but follows after steve anyways. eddie watches them walk away, not realizing he’s glaring at ash until robin nudges him. he whips his head around to look at her. all he sees is her looking at him, her eyebrows raised and a pointed gleam in her eyes.
”what?”
”really?” robin scoffs. “that’s all you have to say?”
“i have no idea what you’re talking about,” eddie replies, confused.
robin groans. “oh, my god, eddie. steve. your crush on him is blatantly obvious, and it hurts to watch sometimes.”
“oh, fuck off,” eddie snaps, but there’s no bite to his voice. he crosses his arms over his chest. “my crush on him is not that obvious, okay? and even if it was, i doubt he feels the same. he’s got mash over there to keep him company.”
”his name is ash,” robin corrects him, although there is a hint of a snicker in her words. “and steve and ash just hang out. they met a few weeks ago when ash came in to the family video, and then they became friends. that’s it.”
”you weren’t here last week, rob. you didn’t see how they were with each other.”
”yeah? what were they doing? ash getting all up in steve’s face and giving him just a little bit of his attention? steve eating that shit up? was that what you saw?”
”well, yeah, but—“
“no, stop. steve—“ robin takes a moment to take a deep breath, as if she’s mulling something over. eddie looks over at her. “steve likes you, eddie. a lot. but i don’t think he knows how to deal with that. so i think he’s trying to distract himself with someone who gives him just an ounce of their time. but i know he wants your attention more than anyone else’s.”
he sighs. “fine. i was gonna talk to you about this anyways, but looks like you beat me to it, buckley.”
robin shoots him a small grin. “don’t wait too long, okay?” she tells him. her smile falters before it falls entirely. “he isn’t very nice about, y’know . . . to both me and steve.”
eddie doesn’t have to guess what she’s referring to so vaguely. he knows it all too well. somehow ash knows about robin or he was able to figure it out all on his own, which makes eddie see red.
eddie clenches his jaw. he hates that robin is right. ash isn’t someone eddie should be envious of. he’s honestly not that attractive, and his cold personality is also not attractive by any means. he’s off-putting and had made eddie uncomfortable when they first met. there’s nothing good about him that eddie has been able to see.
and he could tell what robin was trying to tell him: tell steve how he feels. he needs to, especially if this dickhead has been passive aggressive to two of his best friends. steve and robin mean a lot to eddie, and he’d be damned if he let someone get away with harassing them.
”you’ve gotta be fucking kidding me,” eddie mutters under his breath. he glances back over at the bar to see steve and ash heading towards them with glasses of alcohol in hand.
before steve can hand eddie a drink or sit down, eddie stands. he comes face to face with steve, whose eyes are wide as he looks at him.
”i’m gonna head home,” eddie tells him softly. “but thank you for coming, stevie. means a lot to me and the guys.”
even under the dark lighting of the hideout, eddie can clearly see steve’s face flush bright red. he blinks a couple times before he comes up with a reply.
”of course, eds,” steve says. “i love watching you play.”
eddie smiles gently at him.
”good to know.” eddie bites his tongue momentarily. “hey, do you wanna come over tomorrow? i need to tell you something.”
”uh, yeah, sure. are you okay?”
”y-yeah. i’m okay,” eddie assures him, though it’s a partial lie. “but uh, i’ll see at six o’clock tomorrow night? wayne will be at work.”
steve nods. “yeah. i’ll see you then.”
”cool. see ya, stevie.”
and with that, eddie dives back into the crowd until he makes it to the back door backstage. he doesn’t see the rest of the band, but then remembers jeff had driven his own car and took gareth and grant home right after the show.
eddie is shaking as he drives through the dark. he’s anxious and nervous and downright pissed off. learning that ash has been rude and nasty to robin and steve about things that they can’t change about themselves is quite possibly the worst thing that could have happened tonight.
when he gets home, eddie stumbles through the living room of the trailer half-blindly. his vision is blurry from exhaustion, but also from a bought of tears that wants to fall so badly. he chokes them back as he showers. he chokes them back as he puts on semi-clean pajamas. he chokes them back as he curls up in his blankets, wishing sleep would come to him faster.
eventually, eddie does slip into a feeble slumber. anxiety has been chewing away at him since he invited steve over. he wakes up groggy and grumpy around noon, even though he was already half awake by nine.
alas, his anxiety does not waver as the day passes. if anything, it gets worse. then when wayne is getting ready to leave to head to the plant he stops in eddie’s open door.
”hey, eddie,” he greets him. eddie snaps his head up to look at his uncle. “your boy comin’ over tonight?”
”he’s not my—“ eddie drags out a sigh, knowing it’s not worth arguing with wayne on the matter. at least right now. “um, yeah. yeah, steve’s coming over to hang out. hope that’s okay.”
”course it’s okay,” wayne says. there’s a mischievous twinkle in his eyes that eddie does not like seeing, especially when it comes to steve. “he go to your show last night, then? y’know, if he’s not your boy after all?”
”oh, my god. get out, old man!”
wayne chuckles softly before telling eddie goodbye and leaving the trailer for the night. that leaves eddie alone with his thoughts for the next little while.
and he can’t stop thinking about what he’s going to say to steve. what could he say? other than confessing his undying love for him, and how he cares about him more than anything else, what would he even say in the moment?
this is hopeless, eddie realizes. he is hopeless. he’s bound to make a fool of himself, thus making steve uncomfortable and ultimately leaving without eddie even getting a proper sentence out.
he is utterly doomed.
then there’s a knock on the front door, and eddie begins to wonder if it’s too late to escape through his window.
but he’s made it this far, hasn’t he? he can make it another hour or so.
eddie takes a deep breath as he goes to open the door. his pulse is thudding in his neck, and part of him wishes it would just burst spontaneously and kill him. he stamps down the brief thought once he’s face-to-face with steve. and steve . . .
he’ll never admit it, but eddie loves seeing steve in his silly little polos. they work for him, and he loves it. eddie would never be caught dead in one. but steve pull them off so well.
he could pull something else off.
eddie internally scolds himself for that as he steps aside to let steve in. steve smiles at him once the door is closed. but there’s an air of anticipation around them, and eddie finds himself choking on it.
“hi,” steve greets him. and god, eddie is already completely gone. how is he supposed to confess his crush on steve when the guy is looking at him like that? with that charming look on his handsome face, making eddie get all soft and gooey on the inside? it’s unfair.
”hi,” eddie breathes out.
steve stares at him for a few more seconds, then says, “i don’t mean to be forward or anything, but you said you had something to tell me?”
”oh, yeah. right.” eddie swallows nervously. “follow me.”
he leads steve down the hall to his bedroom, where he stands by the door as steve gingerly sits on the edge of eddie’s bed. he looks mildly uncomfortable and eddie can’t have that.
eddie heads for the bed and sits down. he scoots back until he can sit crisscross with plenty of space between him and steve. this gets steve to turn towards him, thus pulling one leg up onto the mattress and folding it at the knee. he begins picking idly at his shoelace.
”so, um . . .”
he can’t do this. why did he think he could do this? this was so much worse than what he had initially anticipated from robin’s words last night. he was insane for thinking this would be easy.
but steve is looking at him, his fingers still playing with his shoelace. he’s staring intently and patiently as eddie searches for the right words.
it takes a while but eddie thinks he knows what he wants to say.
”never did i expect to be friends with steve harrington,” eddie begins hesitantly. “it was never something i particularly wanted, if i’m honest. but when henderson and the other gremlins joined hellfire and they were talking about this steve guy, i would have never guessed you were one in the same. ‘cause that steve gave them rides to school and wherever else out of the kindness of his heart. that steve was graduated and friends with freshmen. so this supposedly cool steve i didn’t know was an utter mystery to me.
”then henderson finally had us meet. and shit, man, you . . . you were so much better than what i expected. ‘cause i wasn’t expecting king steve harrington to be the one those gremlins would not shut up about. and yet, there you were. and i—“ eddie pauses, glancing briefly at steve. “i got to learn firsthand that you are truly a good dude. you changed for the better since high school, and that had me scrambling.”
eddie chances another glance to see steve still staring at him. but his eyebrows are knitting together and his eyes are shiny and wet.
”you threw me for a loop, stevie,” eddie goes on. “i was suddenly spinning out of control but i liked it. i still like it. and i like how caring you are. i like how selfless you are. i like the way you shamelessly flirt with everyone. i like your hugs, whenever you’re comfortable with touch. i like— i like you.”
he says the last part so quietly he barely hears it himself. though it’s clear that steve heard it. his eyes are wide and his cheeks are cherry red and eddie can’t drag his eyes away from him. his heart is racing but he’s too far gone.
”and when you finally came to see us play, i was so excited.” eddie sniffles, struggling to restrain the tears suddenly begging to fall. “but you had someone with you, and i figured that you were on a date or some shit, i dunno. i got jealous. i got angry. it was obvious to me that you like ash, so i decided to wallow in my self pity instead of saying something.”
eddie finally looks away from steve. he doesn’t see the tears slip down steve’s face or the way he’s staring at eddie with imaginary hearts popping out of his skull. but eddie said what he wanted to say. what more can he do?
as eddie’s gaze is glued to his pillows, steve shuffles over to him. eddie grinds his teeth in an attempt to ground himself and steve settles in next to him, their knees almost touching. the proximity is suddenly terrifying.
”i don’t like ash like that,” steve finally says, his voice quiet. “we just hang out sometimes. and he invited himself to the hideout, but i wasn’t gonna be a bitch and tell him no. i do, however, like you. i like you a lot, eds. like, it’s insane how much, really.”
a beat passes before there’s a gentle hand cradling eddie’s jaw. he tenses but allows steve to maneuver his head to look at him. steve is smiling gently.
”you okay?” steve asks.
eddie returns his smile, albeit a bit sad. “yeah. i’m okay.”
steve leans forward until his forehead is resting against eddie’s. eddie closes his eyes and basks in the warmth from steve, the relief he feels after the massive weight has been lifted from his shoulders.
eddie can feel steve brushing his thumb along his jawline, and eddie never wants him to stop.
“eddie?”
steve’s voice is close to a whisper.
”yes, sweetheart?”
”can— can i kiss you?”
eddie’s nodding as steve finally closes the distance between them.
the feeling of his lips on steve’s is infinitely better than his initial theory. steve’s lips are soft and plush and eddie finds himself reaching for that silly little polo. eddie grabs onto the fabric and holds tight.
eddie has no idea how long they’re kissing. he ended up feeling adventurous once he felt steve brushing his tongue along his lips, and almost fell apart at the seams when steve was licking into his mouth like an expert.
steve crawled into eddie’s lap. eddie immediately wrapped one arm around steve’s waist and the other slipped into his hair, his fingertips scratching lightly at steve’s scalp. he experimentally pulls a bit, and is more than satisfied at the small whine it derives from steve. steve has both hands on either side of eddie’s face as they just kept kissing and kissing.
but steve eventually pulls away from eddie. his fingers slip into eddie’s hair as eddie is blinking open his eyes. he sees steve’s lips are red and swollen, and he is blushing like mad. his eyelids are at half-mast and the beautiful brown of his irises are nearly pitch black from his dilated pupils.
“i also like kissing you,” eddie says in a breathy voice. it earns a smile from steve.
”i like kissing you, too,” steve tells him.
they lean their foreheads together once more, and eddie has never felt so relaxed or so hyper in his life. but steve is massaging his head with the tips of his fingers and the calm begins to outweigh the nerves.
”stay the night?” eddie asks. his thumb is rubbing circles into steve’s hip, and a soft sigh comes as a reply.
”i’d love to.”
”good.” eddie bites his lip. “what does this mean for us?”
”i don’t know,” steve answers. “but personally, i like the idea of being your boyfriend.”
a chuckle escapes eddie’s throat. “i like that idea too,” he says with a smile. “you wanna be mine, stevie?”
“yeah, i’ll be yours, eds.”
with that, eddie wraps his arms around steve’s middle and steve wraps his around eddie’s neck. steve buries his face in eddie’s hair, his breathing tickling eddie’s ear. and if this wasn’t the best feeling ever.

Having thoughts of The Party being touchy as all fuck after everything.
Like you cannot enter nor leave any kind of hang out without a hug, high-five, pat, or anything from everyone you were hanging out with.
And then, suddenly, you aren’t able to leave without a kiss or hug of some kind from Steve.
It started after the bullshit that was the Starcourt Mall. The kids were leaving Steve’s house from a DnD session maybe 2 months before the Byers left for Cali.
Dustin was taking forever to pull his shoes on and get out the house to his moms car and everyone was complaining. It was one of those rare times where Steve wasn’t the one carting them all around— they all had their own rides.
Dustin got his shoes on and Steve handed him his bag and— without thinking— pressed a kiss to the top of his hat before waving him out the door.
The rest of the kids are silent until Mike speaks up bitchily “what about us, asshole?”
Steve has no idea what they mean until El points to her head with a grin. Steve deals out head and forehead kisses for everyone and waves them off to their respective rides.
And then it just— sticks. At first it’s with just the kids whenever he sees them. He’ll usually greet them with a hug or an exasperated sigh and then say goodbye with a kiss to their foreheads.
Not even Mike complains. This is the kind of shit he never got while growing up— might as well make the best of it.
And then it migrates to Robin as well, and the Nancy is joining in on the hugs (they’re still too awkward for the kisses but the hugs are enough for now).
And Steve never holds back, not even in public. Again, no one complains.
And that’s how Hellfire finds out about the kissing arrangement (that might be the title of this if I make it an actual fic). They watch as Steve presses a forehead kiss to Mike, Lucas, and Dustin before waving them off and then presses a kiss to Max’s head and giving her a tight hug.
The guys try to make fun of the kids for it but none of them are embarrassed.
“It’s Steve, dude. He’s like a mom.”
“The kisses are actually really comforting.”
“It’s a Party thing.”
And then the fuckery of 1986 and Vecna happens and suddenly Eddie’s in on the hugs and pats and high-fives.
And then.
And then.
He’s in on the kisses.
Steve doles out the kisses like usual one night after Hellfire and gives one to everyone— including Eddie.
And Eddie panics and gives Steve one right back.
And then the kids are going feral about wanting to give Steve a kiss too.
And Eddie leaves during the chaos.
And then they don’t talk about it.
Until Steve and Eddie do it again.
And the kids accept is as the new normal; you have to give Steve a kiss back.
And then Steve and Eddie have an excuse to kiss each other on the foreheads and cheeks and noses.
One night they’re hanging out, just the two of them at the trailer after Wayne left for work.
Steve had greeted Eddie with a tight hug the moment he’d gotten in the trailer. Eddie had squeezed back just as tight if not tighter.
Steve was getting ready to leave, and on instinct leant in to kiss Eddie, but Eddie was also leaning in to kiss Steve. So they meet in the middle and accidentally kiss on the lips.
And then the new normal for Steve and Eddie is kissing on the lips goodbye.
Idk, just Steve being a very touchy feely person makes me so happy

"Let's run away. Let me take you to the beach. Let me give you the summer as a birthday present. I swear, you won't ever forget it."
☀️
Thank you so much for trusting the process with me again today.
I am honestly so proud of this piece. It took me a thousand hours omg, but... but the fabric, and the skin, and the tattoos, and... and his aura, god. I'm turning this shady, metalhead all time dressed in black, lover of the night and dark things sweetheart into a sun lover. A happy little thing.

Pathetic. That was how you felt at this moment in time. Here you were at your college homecoming party, and all you could do was be a wallflower, watching in self-pity as the love of your life. ( who doesn’t know is the love of your life) is pressed up on some girl in the back of the room.
"What are you doin' here, Tink?" you pop out of your daze to see your older brother, Adam, addressing you.
Did your parents name you Tink? No. Were you so obsessed with Peter Pan as a child you demanded to go by Tinkerbell? Yes. The nickname kinds just stuck.
"I go here?" You sass him back.
"This party is for upperclassmen only. How did you get in?" Adam was only three years older.
"Eddie's here, and he doesn't even attend school..." You gave him a pointed look.
"Yeah, cuz he is my best friend... like I said, how did you get in?"
"It's a house party, not Studio 54... I walked in."
"I'm going to kill Cory," He mumbled under his breath. Cory was supposed to be manning the door.
"Yeah, you should definitely get better security, all I had to do was let him feel up my tits, and we walked right on in..."
The Neanderthal didn't actually touch you, but the look on Adam's face when you let Adam believe he did? Priceless. You only lied so Adam would leave you alone.
What actually happened was you, Nancy, and Robin scaled the fence and got in through the back door.
"Cory!" Before you knew it, Adam was out of your hair, and you were back to being a wallflower….
"Tink there you are! You wanna continue to mope in the corner, or do you wanna get out of here?" your two best friends/roomies, Robin and her girlfriend Nancy, approach you.
"I guess let's just go." you sigh.
You can no longer bear the sight of Eddie, the boy you've been crushing on since the sixth grade, and your older brother’s best friend, leading the random girl up the stairs hand in hand.
Your stomach lurched at the thought of her hands running all over his body, how he would be on her, kissing her... inside of her. He didn't even know you were here... You should have gone up to him, maybe said hello. Perhaps he would have seen the ridiculous amount of effort you put into your ensemble just to catch his eye. But your efforts were lacking because, to him, you're always going to be Adam's annoying little sister.
You knew you had to get over this, but how could you? He has been in your life for fifteen years and always will be. Adam and Eddie have been friends for as long as you can remember. Your brother stuck by him throughout Eddie's family struggles. Your parents even took him in for a few weeks before CPS found his uncle took over full custody. He was basically your big brother, too, until your pesky teenage hormones started to kick in, and boom! You've been head over heels ever since.
''Good, let's get some greasy burgers and fries to end the night, ok?" Robin smiled.
Tumblr media
In the 24-hour diner on campus, you were sitting at your regular booth with the girls across from you, eating your feelings, trying not to think about what Eddie was doing with that girl.
"So that party was a bust, huh?" Nancy spoke first.
"Yeah, totally... probably because Adam's house hosted." You giggled.
"Not to mention Eddie still didn't see you -OUCH." Robin looked over at Nancy, who was giving her a look of distaste. "Sorry, I meant he is an idiot, and you need to get over him! There are plenty of eligible guys on campus who you could date!"
"Even though my girlfriend is being is harsh, she is right, Tink. It's been so long, and you'll kill yourself over this if you keep this up."
"Ugh, I know! Do you think I'm a masochist or something? I hate to break it to you, but I do not enjoy this. I hate it. I hate that he is the one I think about every day when I wake up. I hate it when I go to sleep; he is the last person on my mind. He takes over my thoughts, and I don't know how to stop it!" You shove a fry into your mouth so you can take a breather.
"What if we found you a new guy? Someone to take your mind off Eddie?" Nancy perked up at her idea.
You heard the diner doorbells chime from behind you.
"I don't know..." Putting all your time and energy into someone new seemed like a lot of emotional work you wanted to avoid going through.
"Yes! Oh my god, Tink, you have to. It's the only way you'll get over him!"
"Get over who?" The silky, sweet voice of a male came from behind you.
You and the girls froze as Eddie, your brother, and a few other guys approached the table.
"No one." You mumbled, trying to fight off the blood rushing across your chest and cheeks.
"You can tell us, Tink! Who are we fighting?" Eddie laughed.
"Tink? What kind of stupid name is that?" one of Adam's jerk friends spoke.
"Excuse me?" you turn to see the guy you've never met.
You heard Adam burst out laughing with the rest of them, but not Eddie.
"Hey man, not cool!" Eddie stood up for you.
And there went the butterflies in your stomach. Eddie was always your protector. Even as kids, when Adam picked on you, he always stood up for you. Even if you weren't around, Eddie always put Adam in his place when it came to you.
You saw, out of the corner of your eye, Eddie shifted his weight down so he could sit beside you. Then, you felt a protective arm wrap around your shoulder.
Fuck. This shit right here is why you can never get over Eddie Munson.
You dared to look up; there he was in all his glory. The way the fluorescent light from above had cast down on him made him look like an angel. He smiled at you, but not before you noticed the dishevelled sex hair he tried to fix and the small amount of pink lipstick that stained the skin on his neck that he didn't quite get off. And the smell… sickly sweet perfume that was definitely not his signature musk.
You quickly turn your head back to your plate because you think you're about to puke up everything you just ingested…
"You, if you don't leave us alone." Robin piped up. She saw the look of pure disappointment in your eyes. You didn't need Eddie to rub in the fact that he hooked up with someone, especially since now he is smelling like a cheap hooker.
Robin and Nancy thought it was incredibly rude of your brother to flaunt Eddie in front of you like this. Of course, he knew your mega super infinity crush on his best friend. Yet here he is with his drunk-ass buddies, antagonizing you about the guy you needed to get over.
"Woah, Birdie, take it easy; we are just saying hello," Adam chimed in.
“You said hello at the party. Now leave!” You gritted through your teeth.
“You were at the party?” Eddie asked. His voice hitched high. High enough, it was embarrassingly so. Thankfully, his friends were too drunk and hungry to realize. A deep blush crossed his face when he saw you noticed the tone in his voice change. You just have a slight nod and continue to play with the food on your plate.
That’s why you were so dressed up. Eddie thought you looked so pretty, too pretty to be sad about some looser in a diner at one in the morning.
"Do we have a problem here?" A voice none of you recognized came from the booth beside you.
You all look over and see a cute guy with blonde hair and blue eyes wearing your school's rugby jersey. He was so not your type, but you can still admire beauty for what it is. He was a jock; that was clear as he stood up. He was big, more significant than your brother and Eddie, that's for sure.
"Nah, man, it's cool. This is my little sister and her friends." Adam slurs. Clearly, he had more shots since he left you to find Cory.
"I don't care who you are. You're clearly bothering them."
"It's okay, they were just leaving," Nancy said confidently.
"Whatever, let's go, guys," Adam commanded the pac, but Eddie lingered. He didn't like this blondie guy. He didn't like the way he was looking at you.
"Ed, come on!'
Eddie got up and slowly made his way to his friends.
"I'm Jesse," Eddie heard the musclehead speak, and he cringed internally. Something wasn't right. The feelings of anger and protectiveness were filling his mind.
Eddie looked back again and saw you smelling at the stranger as he reached out to shake your hand before sitting beside you.
What kind of freak is alone in a diner at 1:15 am? Eddie thought.
But it didn't seem to phase you or the girls; you were all blinded by his shiny hair and pearly white smile.
Eddie walked out and felt like he wanted to punch something. He needed to get away. He needed to know what the fuck was wrong with him? Why was he feeling this way? Why were you the one causing him distress? You were just Tink? Or so Eddie thought.
Tumblr media
Jesse turned out to be really cool. You exchanged numbers, and he asked you to go to the movies next Friday. You hadn’t been on a date in forever; you had been so hung up on Eddie that any other guy seemed uninteresting. But this time, you were determined that Jesse would be the one to break the cycle. He was much different than you’re generally into, but you have some of the same interests, like movies and music, so you thought you’d go for it.
Jesse picked you up, bought the tickets, and insisted on buying the snacks and drinks. He held your hand and then slowly made his way to wrap his arm around your shoulder. It gave you butterflies you hadn’t felt from anyone else. Before you knew it, you willingly leaned in to make out with him in the back of the theatre.
You were so focused on Jesse that you didn’t notice Eddie was also on a date in the same theatre. But Eddie noticed you. He was seething the whole time. He didn’t pay any attention to his date or the movie. He hogged the popcorn and munched away as he watched you giggle and flirt with the blockhead jock. Eddie didn’t care that he had pissed off his date. He hardly said two words to her when they parted ways, not even offering to drive her home.
He didn’t want to go out with her but had hooked up with her at the party and felt terrible about it then. Now, he can’t even remember her name or why he went upstairs with her in the first place.
You were there, at the party, but he didn’t see you. Now he sees you everywhere, and it’s pissing him off. Why were you on his mind all of the time? For the past week, why have his dreams been consumed by you and you alone? Why did he want to hold you, be with you, talk to you, dare he say… kiss you? You were Adam’s little sister. Well, not so little anymore. You were a late bloomer, but boy, did you bloom.
Eddie hated how the blonde meathead’s hand rested too low on your back. His hands grazed your skirt a little too closely. Eddie wanted to jump the guy, but he couldn’t. He was twice his size. He would be pulverized, and that would be mortifying in front of you. You wouldn’t want him like that anyway, even if he did win in a fight over you!
What the fuck was Eddie thinking? He wasn't… that's the problem. He's now thinking about getting into a physical altercation over you. He isn't able to sleep now without thinking about you. He needed to get his head on straight and quit fucking around. He hoped that if he just focused on the cars at work, this little thing would go away on its own. Maybe he can't remember that he had slipped and hit his head? Yeah, that's it. He hit his head, and now his brain is just confused. He didn't like you like that! This will all go away by tomorrow.
Wrong.
Eddie was plagued with thoughts of you. He caught himself in numerous daydreams about you while doing mindless tuneups and tire changes at the shop. It was getting out of hand; it’s been another week, and he still can’t get you off his mind… Eddie needed to be proactive. The guys were starting to give him shit about it too. They knew he was focused on a girl. They could sense it.
There was another party tonight that Adam mentioned. He will go home and get cleaned up. Then he will go to the party, he will find a nice pretty girl who will let him bury himself inside her, to forget about his thoughts of splitting your open with his cock, and this will all be over.
Tumblr media
You walked into the party hand in hand with Jesse. He was starting to make waves in your life, being only two weeks, but still. He would walk you to your classes and help you study in the library. He would walk you home and kiss you goodbye like the perfect gentleman. He hadn't tried making any advances as of yet. The two of you had only made it to first base. Maybe tonight you would get lucky? You felt ready.
“You want something to drink?” Jesse guided you to the kitchen.
The house was hot and sticky; you were worried about your hair getting frizzy. You worked so hard on it to look good for Jesse. He even complimented it when he picked you up. Forever the gentleman.
“Whatever they have is good.” You smiled up at him.
As the two of you walked into the packed kitchen, you tried to squeeze your way around but got stuck in the crowd. It was much easier for Jesse to get by just with his size alone.
“Excuse me,” you repeated three times, but no one was budging.
“You should be a little bit more assertive,” the voice behind you said. It sent a shiver down your spine.
As you turned, you saw Eddie smirking down at you. He was drunk. You could see that and smell it.
“Hi, Eddie.” You smiled meekly before you felt the weight of Jesse’s arm wrap around you, passing you your drink.
“There you are,” Jesse smiled. "Who's this?"
"That's just Eddie...Eddie, Jesse. Jesse, Eddie." You introduced awkwardly.
Just Eddie. The words stung.
"How do the two of you know each other?" Jesse gestures between the two of you.
"Brothers best friend." You smile.
"That's all I am to you? You wound me, Tink."
The fuck was that supposed to mean?
"Eddie, man! I got us two hotties over by the pool. Let's go!" In comes your obnoxious brother with perfect timing, as always.
"I guess I'll see you around." Eddie sighed.
"Nice meeting you, man." Jesse stuck out his hand.
"Whatever." Eddie brushed him off and left with Adam.
"I'm sorry about him. That was very rude. I don't?- He's usually not like that?"
"It's okay; I can tell a jealous guy when I see one." Jesse shrugged.
You almost spat out your drink. "Jealous?!"
"Oh, it's clear as day, honey."
"No... there is no way. He's never and will never like me... like that." It broke your heart to say that out loud. Your chest felt so heavy as the words came out of your mouth.
As the rest of the night went on, you and Eddie tried avoiding one another like the plague. Those words about him being jealous were swimming around in your head for most of the night, and Eddie was trying to avoid his feelings by being with another girl, but not one stood out to him.
Adam tried getting lucky but struck out when Eddie refused to go with the friend.
"What the fuck is your problem, man? She was like a solid eight out of ten."
"I wasn't into it..." Eddie's eyes found you, and he couldn't break his gaze. You were curled up in the blockhead's lap, sitting by the fire pit, all cozy and giggly. What he would give to have you in his arms like that.
"Oh fuck, not you now." Adam groaned in frustration, seeing where Eddie's googly eyes were directed.
"Huh?" Eddie said absentmindedly, not really paying attention.
"You can't be serious?! That's my little sister, dude; come on!" Adam was always one for the dramatics; that's why he and Edie got on so well.
"Woah, man, I never said anything about your sister."
"Well, it sure is clear by the way you're making heart eyes at her."
"Yeah, right," Eddie scoffed.
"Trust me, dude, it's that same way she looks at you." Adman shook his head. He thought he would be clear of this. That this would never happen, and yet here it is, happening.
"Wait, what? What do you mean?-"
"She's been in love with you since she was twelve... come one like you didn't know?"
"No way, you smoked too much tonight, so something? Maybe my stuff is off?"
"She likes you, dude. Never fucking shuts up about you."
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"Didn't think it was relevant... I was never going to allow her to be with you! You serious? It's Tink, she's so...ew. You're so above that."
"She's not new," Eddie snapped. He hated how hard Adam had always been on you.
"Whatever, man, too late now. About time she has moved on."
Eddie stood up and walked out of the party without a word. He heard Adam call out, but he ignored him completely. He needed to process what Adam told him. He needed to sober up so he could think clearly. He needed to either make you his or find a way to get over you... and fast.

That night of the party, you didn't end up getting lucky. You tried making advances, but you inevitably were shot down. He said he didn't want your first time to be when you both had been drinking and in some random bathroom. So you accepted it, even though your horny gremlin was starting to come back to life. But what did happen was he asked you to make it official with him, and you said yes!
Tonight, you had to leave the apartment for your roommate's sake. It was their anniversary, and you told them you could have the place to themselves for a romantic evening. When you told Jesse, your new boyfriend, you needed a place to crash, he offered you his bed. You would go to your classes and then return to his for your first sleeepover as a couple. You were so excited!
Jesse ended class at one in the afternoon that day, and you ended at five, so it worked out perfectly. Luckily enough for you, your professor for your last lecture was ill, so they cancelled class that day. You thought it would be fun to surprise him by showing up early.
When you got to his house, his roommate let you in and said he was in his room with his friend Connor. So when you knocked on the door and walked in a few seconds later, you did not expect to see the two men in bed, naked...
You screamed and covered your eyes, absolutely mortified that you had walked in on them. You were so unbelievably hurt that you had been deceived. Why would he ask you to be exclusive if he was sleeping around?! And on the night when you thought you would get to have sex with your new boyfriend.
You did not give Jesse any time to explain himself as he tried to get out of the tangled sheets and arms of the other man. You heard your name being called out, but you ran out of there like a bat out of hell.
Tears stung your cheeks as the cold autumn air began to settle in. The rumble of the dark clouds was also looking quite ominous.
Just your luck. Of course, you would find your boyfriend in the arms of another man, and of course, the universe would make you walk him in the rain. How poetic.
A crack of thunder rumbled in the distance, and that's when the rain came down in buckets. At least it could cover up your tears. You continued walking, but you couldn't think of a place to go? You could not ruin your roommate's night. There is no way Adam would let you stay in his frat house, not that you would want to anyway, and your friends from the class went home for the weekend. Shit... maybe you could spend the majority of the night in the diner and then just walk home really late once they were defiantly sleeping. But your clothes were soaked and---
“Tink, what’s wrong?” you were snapped out of your thoughts by none other than the man who was the cause of this whole mess.
Eddie rolled down the work van window. He was covered in motor oil and dirty from working all day. His muscles ached, and he badly needed a hot shower, but now all he could focus on was you and why you were upset.
“Leave me alone, Eddie.” He hadn’t ever heard you speak to him like this?
“Tink, come on, it’s a literal thunder storm. Let me take you home.”
“Can’t, girls are having date night… told them to have the place to themselves.” You continued to walk as the chill from the rain was beginning to seep through to your bones. Your teeth betray you as the chatter starts.
“Where were you supposed to be right now?”
“None of your business!”
“Tink, don’t make me pull over!”
“Screw you, Eddie!”
“That’s it.” Eddie parked the car and got out. “You’re coming with me.” Eddie picked you up over his shoulder, and you let out a screech.
“Eddie! Put me down, you caveman!” You screamed. If anyone saw you, it looked like you were being kidnapped and taken into a murder van.
“No, can do Tink. I’m taking you home to warm you up. Then you’re going to tell me what the fuck is going on.” He commanded. And if you weren’t so mad, you’d say you were a little turned on by his voice.
You hear the car door open before he plops you into the passenger seat.
“Get in” he points to your legs hanging out of the car.
“Make me.” you shiver.
“You’re being such a child! Let me help you.”
“Fine!” You swing your legs into the van, and Eddie slams the door closed, making you wince.
The car ride was quiet besides the radio and your chattering teeth. You tried to wrap your arms around yourself, but it was of no help. Your t-shirt and jeans clung to you like a second skin, and the car heater was only blowing cool air. You swore you thought your nipples could cut glass.
Eddie said nothing as he tugged you over on the bench seat and wrapped a warm arm around you. You broke out into another chill, but this time, you weren't sure if it was from the rain or from Eddie.
Even though Eddie was self-conscious of smelling like motor oil and body odour, he was more worried about you catching hypothermia.
Once you were inside Eddie's warm apartment, he noticed how your body was on display. You would be the clear winner if you were in a wet t-shirt contest, that's for sure. Eddi's eyes were wide with desire, but he returned to reality when you asked if you could use his shower to warm up.
Eddie nodded absentmindedly as he thought about you being naked in his shower.
"Uh, you mind if I borrow a towel and some dry clothes? I have mine, but they got soaked through my overnight bag..."
"Yeah! Uh- I mean, sure, yeah, whatever..."
You blushed slightly at Eddie, trying to play it cool. He ran to his bedroom and returned with a handful of different fabrics. You took them and then headed into the bathroom.
The hot water defrosted your bones, and when you stepped into Eddie's clothes, his sent hit you like a tidal wave. You brought the old black corroded coffin band tee that he had from high school up to your nose and inhaled deeply. You felt immediate comfort being here, with Eddie, wearing his clothes.
As you stepped out of the bathroom, hair wrapped in the towel, Eddie couldn't help but smile at the sight of you.
"Not a word," you warn.
Eddie mock zipped his lips, then gestured to the couch for you to sit beside him.
"Sorry about being a pain earlier; you caught me at a really, really bad time."
"It's okay, Tink, you're here with me now; that's all that matters." Eddie let the towel around your head fall back so he could see your natural hair. "You wanna tell me what happened? I've never seen you so upset."
"You shook your head no, "It's too embarrassing."
"Come on, it's me we are talking about here."
You paused for a deep breath and decided to just lay it all out on the table... how much worse could it get, right?
“You remember Jesse, right?” Eddie could feel his fist tightening, but he said nothing while nodding his head with a tight lip. What the fuck did he do to you? “Well, he asked me to be his girlfriends no less than a week ago, and I was supposed to spend the night at his place… but I went over early and found him in bed with… someone.” Eddie went to say something but realized you weren’t finished and let you continue.
“Pathetic, isn’t it?! I finally get a boyfriend, and the moment I want to actually sleep with someone who isn’t you, they are in the arms of someone else! Am I really that undesirable?! I was practically throwing myself at him, and it turns out he was fucking his “friend” the whole time.”
You had missed your slip-up, but Eddie hadn't. Eddie didn’t hear anything after “I want to sleep with someone who isn’t you,”
So Adam was right…
“Eddie? Eddddiiieee?” You snapped your fingers in front of his face to try and get back his attention.
Great, so now you’re undesirable AND boring.
“Sorry what?”
“Forget it… you don’t wanna hear about my pitty party. I’ll call a cab and head back to… oh shit, I can’t even go home!”
“Stay here.”
“Eddie, I couldn’t possibly-”
“Yes. Stay. Take my bed; I’ll take the couch.”
“Eddie, I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
“Why not, Tink?” He brushed a fallen piece of hair behind your ear, and those pesky butterflies erupted within your core.
“Because…” because I’m in love with you and don’t know if I can hold back my feelings any longer.
“Exactly, you can’t come up with one. Let me take care of you.” Eddie’s voice dropped an octave.
A chill travelled down your spine. His touch is electric. Any time you’re with Eddie, your body feels like it’s been recharged.
As you gaze into Eddie’s eyes, this undeniable magnetic pull connects you. Was he leaning in? Or were you? Maybe it was the both of you? There was little to no space between you. Never in a million years did you think you would be sitting here, alone with Eddie in his apartment.
“I should get cleaned up,” Eddie whispered. He was so close you could taste the spearmint Nicorette gum he had been chewing. It took everything in his power to pull away. He wanted to kiss you so very badly, but he got a whiff of himself, and he needed to wash up. I would be unfair to you.
“Oh, okay,” you breathed in, and Eddie slid back.
“You can make yourself at home, okay? Help yourself to anything in the kitchen. I’ll be 10 minutes.”
Tumblr media
Eddie was freaking out in the shower, and you were freaking out in the kitchen. While Eddie scrubbed his skin so hard he thought he would scrub it off completely, you went to the fridge to find anything to help calm your nerves.
There wasn’t anything in the fridge, but the freezer, on the other hand... Bingo. You poured yourself a shot of vodka and almost threw up, but you held it together with a chaser of orange juice. You took one more for good measure and then made your way back to the couch. As you waited for your liquid courage to kick in, you flicked around on the TV but didn’t really pay much attention. Your thoughts were swimming with questions and possible scenarios that could play out this evening.
You were taken away from your inner thoughts when Eddie exited the bathroom with nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist. You tried not to make it obvious, but the alcohol clouded your awareness of your face.
“Sorry, I left my clothes in the bedroom” he saw you eye fucking him and gave a little smirk.
“It’s okay. Totally okay.” you sighed.
The sight of his wet, bare torso makes your heart race, his flesh covered in goosebumps, his nipples perked, and his hair soaked yet still so sexy. Your stomach simultaneously flip-flopped. And as for your pussy… well, she got a little excited at the heavenly sight in front of you.
“Yeah,” You wanna see more, Tink? Eddie thought to himself.
“Yeah.” You sighed before he disappeared into his bedroom.
Minutes later, Eddie returned, and the two of you acted as if nothing happened. Neither of you willing to break the tension first. So you both sat silently, watching some random TV movie while you prayed to come up with something to discuss. You wanted to talk so badly with him.
“This couch is pretty lumpy; it wouldn’t be fair to make you sleep on it.” You felt terrible that he offered his bed. “I’ll take the couch.”
“Nope. No way.” Eddie shook his head.
“Eddie.” You huffed.
“Tink,” he mocked back.
“You need a good sleep! You work a strenuous job…And my back can take it.”
I bet your back could take it, Eddie thought.
“You calling me old, sweetheart?”
Sweetheart, your stomach did a flip-flop again.
“No.” You snicker at his accusation.
“I don’t think I believe you” Eddie’s tone dropped again.
“Well, I’m not letting up”
“Neither am I; you’re sleeping in my bed whether I’m on it or not.
“Oh...”
“Yeah, oh.” Eddie sat back and the both of you finished the movie in silence.
You didn’t know when you fell asleep, but Eddie shook your shoulder awake.
“Come on Tinkerbell we are going to bed.” You think you hear Eddie whisper.
Were you dreaming? Did Eddie just tell you the two of you were going to bed?
“Mmm?”
“I’m not letting you sleep on the couch, remember? Don’t think you’re getting out of this so easily.”
“Okay, Eddie, “ you agreed in your sleepy haze.
You feel his arm wrap under yours as he helps you off the couch.
“There you go.” Eddie coos as he places you down gently.
The moment your head hits the pillow, you’re suddenly wide awake. You’re in Eddie’s bed. Eddie is getting in next to you.
“Figured we would compromise.” He slid next to you but over the covers with a throw blanket.
“Thanks for letting me stay… and giving me a shoulder to cry on.” You cringed with embarrassment at the last part.
“Thanks for letting me stay… and giving me a shoulder to cry on.” You cringed with embarrassment at the last part. “You seem to always be there for me…” you turn to your side to face Eddie.
“I’ll always be there for you, Tink, whether you like it or not…” Eddie also turns so he is facing you.
“Eddie.” Your breath hitched.
“Yes Tink.”
Fuck are you really going to spill your guts to him here and now?
“I… I wanna-need to tell you something.” You close your eyes, not daring to look at him.
“I think I might have an idea.”
“You-what?” Eyes still closed
You feel the bed shift and feel Eddie's warm breath fan your lips.
“Do you trust me?” Eddie whispered.
You aren’t brave enough to speak. So you tentatively nod your head yes.
“Do you trust me, Tink? I need you to say it.” He asked once more.
You slowly opened your eyes and bravely opened your mouth. “Yes, Ed’s, I trust you.”
A slight smile graces Eddie’s before you watch him lean in with a pucker.
Your heart skipped a beat the moment his lips touched yours.
Holy shit.
Eddie Munson was kissing you. Eddie Munson, your older brother's best friend, who you’ve been in love with for seven years, is now kissing you… in his bed… late at night… with no one else around. It was like fireworks were going off. It was everything you ever wanted and more.
It was all you had ever dreamed of, and now he was blowing your expectations out of the water. You had to have more. You needed this to last forever.
Your hands moved up to cup his face. His cheeks were rough with stubble, contrasting his soft plush lips. Eddie shifted closer to you. You could feel his body through the thick blankets that separated the two of you, but you wanted to be closer to him. You threw the blankets and all caution to the wind when you shifted to wrap your legs around him.
Eddie rolled so he was on top of you. To your surprise, you felt his firm cock pressed to your thigh, which made you moan softly.
“Fucking hell, Tink”
“Eddie, please, I need you.”
“Didn’t take you long to beg,” he chuckled darkly.
“Well, it took you long enough to see me.”
Eddie gazed into your eyes like he was looking at you for the first time. Like really seeing you. He muttered your name, your real name, for the first time, and you couldn’t fight the smile that spread across your face before you strained your neck to take his lips once more.
Eddie’s strong hands grazed your waist and settled on your hips, pinning you down to the mattress. His weight is entirely on you now. Your knees hitched up, and you opened your hips more to give him more room.
“Eddie,” you gasped into his mouth. Eddie ground his hips into yours, and you let out another soft moan.
“Tell me what you want.”
“You, it’s always been you.” You confessed.
Eddie didn’t say anything in reply but instead worked his fingers to the waistband of his sweatpants that you dawned.
“This okay?”
“Oh my god, yes,” you rushed. You’ve waited too long for this moment.
“Eager, aren’t we?”
“Don’t be mean,” You shove the pants off your ankles and go for your shirt.
“Wait… let me.” Eddie sat up so you could as well. His hands brushed the hem and slowly pulled the shirt he let you borrow off of you.
He took in your naked frame in front of him.
Shit, you weren’t wearing your panties this whole time? They must have been soaked as well from the rain. Eddie thought.
Eddie saw you shy away as you sat there naked in front of the boy you loved as he took you all in.
It didn’t take long before Eddie’s hands roamed your skin, finding your breasts.
“You’re so soft.” Eddie moaned into your neck as he took in the fact that you now smelled like him. He sent all over you; he was feral. He needed to claim you as his own. How could he be so blind all these years? You were perfect; you were everything he ever wanted.
“Do you like soft?”
“Very much so.”
Eddie melted into you once more as he travelled down your body, kissing and nipping at every inch. You softly moaned when he flicked your nipples with his tongue, and you really moaned when he reached your wet pussy.
How Eddie loved the noises he was pulling from you. He would do anything to make you sing for him.
“You like that baby? You want me to touch you… here?” His index finger grazed your wet slit.
“Yes” you replied quickly, a little too quickly.
“Good, I don’t know what I would have done if you said no.”
You giggled, but it was cut off by the feeling of Eddie’s fingertips grazing your clit.
You’d daydreamed countless times about how his fingers would feel while you watched him while he and your brother jammed in your garage.
He circled your clit before dipping his head down to kiss your lower lips. Reality hit you once again. Eddie was eating you out. Eddie was eating you out like a man starved, in fact. How was he so good at this? Scratch that you didn’t want to know. Your thoughts slowed down as Eddie’s thick fingers entered your wet hole.
“Eddie!” You yelled with pleasure.
“Oh yes, sweetheart, say my name.”
“Eddie, Eddie, Eddie,” you replayed like a mantra.
As his fingers grazed that spot that only you managed to find when you were alone in your bed, exploring your body. You fell apart in his hands.
“Your pussy grips me so good, god I can’t wait to fuck you.”
“Please, Eddie,” you begged in your blissed-out daze.
“Let me hear it again,” he smirked.
“I need you, please. I want your cock so badly."
“Mmmmmm, as you wish.” he pulled back so he could strip. You watched as his tight muscles flexed as he pulled off his shirt, then scrunched as he bent over to take off his bottoms.
His cock sprung out of their confines, and your breath hitched for what you thought was at least the fourth time that night.
You’ve imagined what it would look like, but none of the times ever did you imagine he was this hung. No wonder he was so confident and cocky around women. It was long, thick, and straight. No curvatures, just pure rod.
“I don’t think that’s going to fit,” you blurt out, not thinking.
“Don’t worry, Baby. It’ll fit.” he slunk back down on you, peppering your lips with more sensual kisses. His fingers travelled down to your pussy, stretching you out again, only this time, he used 3 fingers to make sure you were nice and ready.
“Please, I’m ready” You ground your pussy into Eddie’s hand.
Eddie reached over into his drawer, pulled out a condom, and slipped it over his shaft as quickly as possible. Seemed that he was just as eager as you.
Eddie kissed you hard as his cock slipped past your wet folds and inside, splitting you open. The wonderful burn of his cock burying itself inside of you. What could you say? It had been a while, and Eddie was the biggest you’ve ever had.
“Slowly,” you guided Eddie as he rocked his hips, giving you time to adjust.
“God, you’re so tight”
“Mmmphmm”
“Your noises are so pretty.” Eddie tucked a piece of fallen hair behind your ear.
Eddie took your breath away as he looked into your eyes. He was being so soft and gentle with you as if you could break.
“Eddie, please.”
“I got you, Princess”
Eddie rocked his hips with more emphasis; his body was moulding into yours. As his cock grazed your tight walls, you felt your body was brought to life.
“Oh fuck” your words slipped, not even realizing you were speaking.
“Come’on baby, let me hear you”
“You’re making me feel so good, Eddie!”
“More, tell me who you belong to.”
“ You! always been you, Eddie, please, I wanna come. Please make me cum on your cock.”
“Good girl. You’re being so good, f’me” Eddie's hips slapped into the backs of your thighs, and he plummeted into you, making you cry out in pleasure.
Eddie grabbed the backs of your knees and pushed them back to your shoulders, only making the angle more delicious as he fucked you. He watched as his cock disappeared into your wanton pussy. He watched as you clenched down on his cock, and he almost lost it as he tried not to cum right then and there.
“Fuck me, Tink! Your pussy is too good,” he gritted through his teeth, trying to keep the pace without blowing his load.
“Eddie!” Your body was on fire as his cock continuously hit your g spot. Your lower belly tingled as the feeling of your orgasm built up again.
“You close, baby?”
“Yes”
“Cum for me.”
“More, I need more.”
Eddie slipped his hand between you and gently circled your clit once again.
You moan, cockdrunk as your body begins to spasm around Eddie’s cock.
“Yes, that’s it, come on baby. Keep cuming. That’s my girl.”
Your eyes roll back into your head, and you clamp your jaw. Every muscle tightens and clenches as your second orgasm rips through you.
“Good girl. Good fuckin girl.” Eddie praises as he empties himself into the condom.
After a few moments of the two of you catching your breath and Eddie discarding the used condom, you break the silence.
“I can’t believe we just did that,” you chuckled in disbelief.
“Adam is going to kill me,” Eddie laughed.
“Good, I’ve been meaning to get him back. You roll over to snuggle in his arms.
“And to think you were supposed to be in another man’s bed tonight.” Eddie hated that idea.
“At least I ended up in the right man’s bed.”

“Steve, it’s an emergency. I need to kiss you. Actually, I need you to kiss me. But I can’t just do it without asking because what if you don’t want me to, and I practically attack you? So yes or no? I swear it’s for a good cause.” Eddie comes running up to Steve in the bar, panting so hard Steve can see the chest movements.
They have taken Robin to a bar out in Indy to get her laid finally. Or at least a tongue in her mouth. The girl is pent up. And it’s Steve’s job as best friend to make that happen (Robin has told him to stop saying that, ‘it is gross’). Eddie is the only other queer person they know and, luckily, has made quite a few trips to Indy to know which bars were the good ones. He tells Steve that, like Robin, he is desperate to get laid, so this is the perfect opportunity.
Steve does his best to try and ignore the burning jealousy he feels at that. Eddie doesn’t know about his feelings (hell about his sexuality), and Steve is pretty sure Eddie doesn’t see him that way.
“Huh?” Asks confused, his brain struggling to process.
“Okay, I see you’re stuck on how to answer, but Steve—“ Eddie grips Steve’s shoulder, and Steve tries not to swoon. “—my ex, the extra shitty one, is here, and if he sees me alone I’ll either a) go home with him tonight and—“
Steve cuts Eddie off with a searing kiss. The thought of Eddie going home with someone else was enough for Steve’s brain to catch up to speed. Steve presses Eddie against the bar. The loud bass of the music suddenly becomes a light thrum in the background. All that he feels is the delightful pressure of their lips together. Eddie’s hands slide up into Steve’s hair as he gets pressed harder into the bar. Steve’s hands' grip Eddie’s waist and give them a tight squeeze. The idea of bruises being left behind, a mark of what they are doing here, makes Steve deepen the kiss. His tongue used to massage Eddie’s, tasting the menthol and rum on his breath. Eddie moans loud and heavy, vibrating Steve’s entire body.
“Eddie?” A voice interrupts them. Steve feels his anger spark back slightly but wills it down because the interruption is probably needed. They are very close to getting kicked out for public indecency.
“Oh hey, Ryan.” Eddie looks the blonde man up and down. He’s cute, Steve notes, but he lacked personality in his appearance. He isn’t what Steve expects from an ex of Eddie’s. He isn’t naive enough to think Eddie dates exclusively metal heads, but he expects someone to match Eddie’s energy. This guy—Ryan apparently—looks like every other guy you’d find on a Sunday in Supermart. Boring and lacking imagination.
“Who’s this?” Ryan looks at Steve pissed.
“Steve?” Eddie wraps an arm around his waist, bringing Steve close up against him. “This is my boyfriend.”
“This dude’s your boyfriend?” Ryan snorts. “C'mon baby, I know you can do better.”
Steve feels his anger finally pop. “He is not your baby. Yea, he can do better than both of us combine, but I’m lucky enough to get him. Now, you interrupted our time together, and we both know you saw what we’re up to, so don’t act like it wasn’t on purpose.”
Ryan startles backwards, “I—“
“Sorry, maybe I wasn’t clear. I meant leave the fuck right now.” Steve grits out, some of his Upside Down protection mode popping out. Ryan scatters quickly.
“Jesus, Steve, that was amazing. I’m sorry I had to make you uncomfortable with that.” Eddie’s eyes find his and cuts Steve off before he can protest and explain no, he really did like that “—and you never even let me explain reason b, by the way! Reason b is b) he would probably humiliate me in the middle of the club.”
Steve nods at Eddie but has one track mind at this point. He grabs Eddie by the face this time before crashing their lips together once again. This time Steve moans into Eddie’s mouth as they both get lost in the kiss.
Steve pulls back ever so slightly and talks directly into Eddie’s mouth, “Sorry. I think he’s still staring. Needed to do more.”
Eddie, with swollen lips and a kissed-out face, looks around the bar to find nothing. “I don’t see him anywhere.”
Steve smirks and pulls Eddie by his belt loops so they are flushed together. Steve leans into Eddie’s ear and nibbles at his lobe. “Hmmm, you’re right. I think he’s actually in the bathroom. Maybe we should kiss in front of him there.” Steve whispers hotly.
Eddie’s brain, which has short-circuited much like Steve only minutes ago, finally catches up. Eddie groans, his face collapsing into Steve’s neck. He licks a stripe up Steve’s neck all the way to his mouth. “Fuck. Yea, baby, I think I saw him too. Think kissing, though, won’t be enough. We might need to up our game.”
Steve nips at Eddie’s lips, “I was hoping you would say that. Guess I just know how much you love your games, Eds.”
They meet each other for one last searing kiss before rushing to the bathrooms to share a very tight, very heated stall.

another one for the requests ^^
a steve and johnathan friendship please. will and el seeing steve as their older brother along with johnathan, hopper and joyce treating steve as their own, and johnathan and steve just overall having a good friendship. (pre-relationship steddie with eddie getting jealous of johnathan because steve just recently came out to the Party as bi, and jancy broke up weeks before it, and none of the others - except robin ofc - know why steve is spending a lot of time at the hopper-byers' house)
I AM TEAM STEVE AND JONATHAN BEING FRIENDS!!! They both did shitty things, and just as real humans do, they figured it out and made themselves better. I'm also team Eddie is incredibly jealous of any other man who gets Steve's attention. This request was unexpected and fun and I liked being able to explore Jonathan a bit more. Thank you!!! - Mickala ❤️
-------------------------------------------------
If you asked Steve where he thought he’d be a year ago, his answer wouldn’t have been this.
Sitting on the Byers’ couch, running his hands through Jonathan’s hair while he cried.
Steve has practically been living at the Byers home for a month, Joyce insisting he join them for dinner so often it just got easier to come over after work every day and spend the night when he had a few too many beers with Hopper.
Will had quickly become his second favorite kid, only behind Dustin, tied with Max.
He was shy, but Steve loved the way he lit up when he talked about things he cared about. He was so excited to show Steve his new campaign ideas when he came over, and even though Steve only understood about 10% of what came out of his mouth, he couldn’t help smiling at him the entire time.
But his friendship with Jonathan was most surprising of all.
Even Robin was getting jealous.
But it was different with Jonathan.
Especially when he broke up with Nancy.
It wasn’t ugly, there was no big argument, and there truly were no hard feelings between them.
But Jonathan was hurting and Steve was there.
And no one knew the post-breakup with Nancy Wheeler hurt quite like Steve.
But that was weeks ago, and Steve kind of expected things to be going better than they were.
“It’s not even that I’m upset she’s going! I’m glad she’s going. That’s why I broke up with her. I’m just also sad that it has to be like this,” Jonathan sniffled against Steve’s lap.
Nancy left for Yale today. It wasn’t her first choice, but it was the best option for her major out of the offers she got. Everyone had gotten together to see her off, even Jonathan, and it looked like he’d held off the breakdown as long as he could.
“Hey, it’s understandable to be upset. You loved each other and it’s hard to see that final goodbye. Up until now she was still hanging out with all of us so it didn’t feel real, now it does.”
Jonathan sighed and closed his eyes.
Steve smiled down at him.
“You’ve got time to figure out what you’re lookin’ for, man. It’ll get easier to be without her.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
Steve was startled when the door opened, Will excitedly talking with Eddie, who’d been driving him back after Hellfire for two weeks now.
“Hey Will, hey Eddie,” Steve said with a small wave, one hand still occupied with playing with Jonathan’s hair.
“Hey Steve!” Will exclaimed.
Will kept talking to Eddie, but Steve noticed he wasn’t paying attention.
He was glaring at Jonathan.
Steve looked down to see if Jonathan was glaring at him, or for any explanation of what was happening.
But Jonathan’s eyes had closed again, his face not quite smiling, but more relaxed than it had been for most of the evening.
When Steve looked back up at Eddie, he was looking at the floor, brows furrowed and a frown on his face.
“Uh, Will, I’m gonna head home. I’ll see you on Saturday, though?”
Will looked dejected, and Steve hated it.
“Oh. Okay. See you Saturday,” he said, walking out of the living room to get to his room.
Steve saw red.
“What the hell is your problem?” Steve asked Eddie.
“What?” Eddie had the audacity to look shocked at being called out for his suddenly shitty behavior towards Will.
“Will was talking to you and you just blew him off.”
Jonathan sat up now, his eyes burning a hole through Eddie.
Jonathan and Eddie got along fine, they weren’t close friends or anything, but they seemed to get along when they all hung out in a group. But Jonathan was incredibly protective of Will, way more than Steve even, and if Eddie was being rude to him, Jonathan would make sure he knew he wasn’t going to let it happen.
He was a chill guy until you messed with Will or El.
Then again, so was Steve.
“Uh. I.”
Jonathan stood up and walked over to Eddie. He didn’t look angry yet, not like he had the potential to be, but he didn’t look pleased.
“Get your shit under control, man. It’s not what you think. Will doesn’t deserve you acting like that because you’re jealous.”
Which made no fucking sense to Steve, but he decided to let Jonathan handle it.
Eddie’s wide eyes watched as Jonathan left the room, probably to check on Will.
Steve stared at him from the couch, not sure what to say.
“Um. I’ll go. Sorry,” Eddie said awkwardly, which is something Steve wasn’t used to.
Eddie was never awkward, always bigger than his body in ways Steve didn’t think possible. Unapologetically loud, fun, a spitfire.
So seeing him like this made him hesitant to believe he meant any actual harm towards Will.
“Hey,” Steve stopped him. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, man. Um. Just tell Will I’ll call tomorrow.”
And then he was gone.
Steve knew better than to follow; Whatever was going on with Eddie would be fine by tomorrow.
Will, however, may be truly hurt and upset.
Steve walked down the hall quietly, not wanting to interrupt Jonathan and Will if they were in the middle of something.
He heard their voices speaking so softly. That should have been a sign to turn around.
But then he heard his name.
“He didn’t mean anything by it, Will. He had a jealous moment because of Steve and took it out on you. I’m sure he’s sorry.”
“Why was he jealous of Steve?”
Jonathan sighed.
“You know how Steve just came out a couple weeks ago?”
“Yeah.”
Steve was about to fall through the wall just to hear where this was going.
“Well, Eddie’s had a massive crush on him for damn near a year now. And he got his hopes up that Steve might feel the same when he came out, which is fine. It’s a natural reaction, you know that. But he also knows that I broke up with Nancy and spend a lot of time with Steve and you saw how he was comforting me when you got home. To you, it looks like just brothers helping each other, but to him, it probably looked a little different.”
“What, like you two are together? Gross.”
Jonathan laughed.
“Yeah, I know. But I can see how he would think that. And you and I both know it hurts when someone we love doesn’t return our feelings.”
Steve’s head was spinning.
Eddie having a crush on him felt like something Jonathan was making up just to make Will feel better.
Just when he was turning around to go back to the couch and figure out what the hell he was feeling, El came out of her room.
She froze when she saw him.
She looked towards Will’s bedroom door, then back at Steve.
He silently begged her not to say anything, and luckily, even without reading his mind, she seemed to know what he was asking.
She nodded and walked along to the kitchen, where Joyce was finishing up dinner for all of them.
“So, do you think Steve likes Eddie? Or is Eddie gonna have to feel terrible forever?”
“Will, you’re not gonna feel terrible forever.” Steve couldn’t hear if Will said anything, but the silence only lasted a moment. “But I think maybe Steve does and just doesn’t realize it. Or maybe he does and just doesn’t think Eddie feels the same. Don’t know how since he literally makes heart eyes at him every chance he gets.”
They both laughed and Steve felt unbalanced, like the next breath might knock him over.
If they were right, if Eddie had feelings for him, then he could see why he was so upset finding Jonathan’s head in his lap earlier.
“Boys! Dinner!” Joyce yelled from the kitchen.
Steve jumped and quickly walked to the kitchen so Jonathan and Will wouldn’t know he eavesdropped on their conversation.
He was quiet through dinner, which wasn’t too unusual. He answered questions when he was asked, asked El about her next girl’s night with Max, asked Will about his campaign.
But Jonathan kept looking at him like he knew.
He got out of there as soon as he was done helping with clean up, saying he was tired and needed some rest before his opening shift tomorrow.
El and Will gave him a hug, Joyce kissed his cheek, and Jonathan followed him out.
That wasn’t what he wanted.
Jonathan stopped him at the front door, hand on his arm.
“Steve. Will’s okay. Don’t be too hard on Eddie, okay?”
Steve just nodded, then gave Jonathan a quick hug before leaving.
He drove home in silence, only his thoughts keeping him company.
—---------------
He talked to Robin because of course he did. She would know what to do.
“Dingus, this feels pretty black and white to me. You have confirmation he likes you. You just spent 20 minutes telling me how amazing he is, which means you like him. He isn’t gonna make a move if he thinks you’re with Jonathan, and he’s valid for thinking that, by the way. You two are freakishly close. You have to do something.”
Steve knew she was right, but he hated when she was right, and he didn’t want her to be right.
“But what if Jonathan is wrong? Maybe he just thinks that’s why he was upset.”
Robin stared blankly at him.
“Steve. Ask Eddie out or I am gonna jump off the cliff at the quarry. God, I cannot with you two.”
Which led Steve to believe Eddie had been talking to Robin about him and caused him to spiral again.
But Robin ignored him and said she wouldn’t talk to him about anything except work until he grew a pair and talked to Eddie.
—--------------------
He was standing outside of the Byers house, here for dinner again, but Eddie’s van was parked outside, which was weird.
It’s not that he wasn’t welcome, Joyce always invited anyone who needed to eat.
It’s just that Hellfire was supposed to be right now, at Eddie’s house, which was not here.
But he was here.
Jonathan opened the door, trash bag in hand, and smiled when he saw Steve standing there.
“Oh, you’re here! Everything okay?”
Steve nodded.
“You sure?” Jonathan started to look concerned. “If you need to skip, I’m sure Mom will understand. She knows you’re working a lot.”
“No, I’m good. Uh, need me to take that out?”
“No, I got it. You go inside, say hi to everyone.”
Steve had no choice but to do what he said.
Something felt off.
And when he walked into the living room to see El and Will sitting on the floor with Eddie, everything felt off.
“Steve!” El yelled, jumping up and running over to give him a hug.
Will followed behind, not quite as enthusiastic, but smiling all the same.
Eddie waved from the floor, small smile on his face.
Steve hated whatever was happening, not because Eddie was here, but because Eddie was never like this around him. He was usually easygoing and tactile, not quiet and awkward.
“Is that Steve?” Joyce called as she walked into the living room. “Hi, honey! Can I have your help with something for just a second?”
“Of course.”
He followed her back into the kitchen, ignoring the way his stomach was in knots at the idea of having a family dinner with Eddie here.
“So, Eddie’s having a rough day, and we invited him for dinner. His favorite is lasagna, so that’s in the oven. Will told me his favorite dessert was brownies, but the texture just isn’t right on these. I’m worried they won’t cook right. Can you take a look?”
Steve wasn’t exactly a baker, but he dabbled in it. His specialty was homemade brownies.
He tried not to let his mind linger on why Eddie was having a rough day, and followed Joyce to where the brownie mix sat in a bowl, which was a very pale brown color.
He knew without even tasting it what was wrong, but he didn’t want to make Joyce feel bad, so he stirred it a bit and then dipped his finger in the batter.
“Ah. Needs cocoa powder,” he said with a smile.
“Of course! I can’t believe I forgot that. Could you get that taken care of?”
And then she was gone.
So, Steve handled it.
He found her cocoa powder, added it in, then took another taste.
This was his recipe. He’d given it to her a while ago, but she’d joked that she couldn’t possibly do his brownies such a disservice.
Whatever was going on with Eddie must be bad.
Then Eddie walked in the kitchen. Alone.
Just as Steve was licking his finger to make sure it didn’t need any more sugar or salt.
They stared at each other for a moment, both their eyes wide in surprise.
“Brownies? What’s the occasion?” Eddie finally asked.
“Uh. Joyce said they’re your favorite?”
“They are. But why does that matter?”
“Uh. She said you were having a bad day.”
Eddie’s face was red.
“Oh. Um. I just had a doctor’s appointment is all.”
Steve’s heart stopped.
“Is everything okay? Are you hurt? Are you sick? Did they find something wrong?”
Steve was closer to him, his hands hovering over his body like he could sense if something was off.
“I’m okay,” Eddie smirked. “Just had to do a lot of tests and I’m sore now. Nothing wrong, though.”
“Good. That’s good,” Steve supplied, his hands dropping to his sides uselessly.
“Yeah. Good.”
Whatever was happening here sucked. Steve hated being like this with Eddie.
He thought about what Robin said, about what Jonathan had told Will.
“You wanna go out with me sometime?”
Steve was an idiot. Truly. Just spitting it out like that, no warning, not even sure if Eddie actually did like him.
“What?”
Eddie looked like he was five seconds from passing out.
“Like on a date?” Then Steve stopped. Eddie would have said yes if he really liked him, right? He wouldn’t have hesitated. “Yeah, I mean, it’s cool though, if not. We don’t have to. Just an idea. I mean Jonathan said-”
“What did Jonathan say?”
“He said you liked me, and he’s just trying to be a good friend and help me out, maybe he was just making sure I didn’t feel bad for liking you so much, I dunno-”
Eddie’s lips were on his.
Eddie’s lips were on his.
Holy shit.
“You’re not with Jonathan?” Eddie asked without pulling away completely.
Steve shook his head.
“You don’t like Jonathan?”
Steve shook his head again.
“You like me?”
Steve nodded.
“Then yeah, let’s go on a date.”
Steve suddenly heard cheering from just outside the kitchen.
He pulled away from Eddie and turned to see Joyce and Jonathan standing behind a clapping El and Will.
“You guys are the worst,” Steve said, running a hand over his face.
“Are we? You never would’ve made a move on your own dude,” Jonathan said, giving him a high five before swiping his finger through the brownie batter.
“I was gonna!”
“When you were 50 maybe!”
Everyone was laughing when Hopper walked in the front door.
“What’s so funny?” His gruff voice thundered through the living room and kitchen.
“Eddie thought Steve and I were a couple,” Jonathan said. “Fixed it, though. Now they’re together.”
Hopper looked between all of them, shook his head, then started heading to his bedroom to change.
“I don’t know why I ask,” his voice could be heard as he walked away.
“So, where are you taking me on our first date, Stevie?”
“How about we let Jonathan pick since he wants to meddle so bad?”
Jonathan laughed.
“This was all mom’s idea. She was tired of the pining.”
“You should go get milkshakes!” El said.
“And then go to the drive-in!” Will added.
“Not a bad idea, actually,” Steve said, turning to Eddie. “Sound okay to you?”
“Yeah, but first, bake these brownies. Your brownie recipe is my favorite.”
“You’re my favorite,” Steve replied.
Everyone groaned.
“Oh, now it’s gonna be worse,” Jonathan joked, shoving Steve’s shoulder playfully.
“So much worse,” Eddie added with a smile.

Okay but Eddie would be so fucking jealous if he found out that you had a crush on Kirk Hammett when you were younger.
He has to be your favorite guitarist, not some guy you've only seen on TV or magazines. He can see the way you look at his fingers when he's shredding, so he learns to play complex riffs. Then it goes beyond that and he's fingering you, your ass on his thigh while your back is against his front.
"Tell me I'm your favorite."
And it's the fastest he's ever made you squirt.

Steve and Robin come out to see Corroded Coffin at their Vegas stop and they have a great time and after the concert they and the band go out for drinks because when in Vegas right? and they all maybe go a little too far and get blackout drunk and Steve, Eddie and Robin all wake up in a bed together, fully clothed of course, but incredibly hungover and it takes them a while to notice the rings but then Steve finds the certificate and all hell breaks loose
Robin and Eddie got married last night
Steve has never felt more betrayed in his LIFE, he was supposed to drunkenly marry Robin one day, they're soulmates, how has she ended up married to Eddie?? the two of them shrug as Steve storms around the room, Robin totally apologetic and willing to make it up to Steve, Eddie relaxing back into the bed because now he has a wife and a boyfriend
Eddie has to leave for his next tour stop so they can't annul it straight away but when they do they gleefully tell everyone who can hear that they never consummated their marriage thank you very much and headlines hit the next day about the lead singer of Corroded Coffin getting a divorce from his secret wife, an ex wife who left hand in hand with another man and all hell breaks loose again when Steve realises this means people think they can just hit on Eddie now they think he's single

Deep down, Steve knows that it's only a matter of time until he gets caught.
It feels like he's gone through the five stages of grief, like, twenty times. He can't count how many hours he's spent rationalizing it: what Eddie doesn't know won't hurt him, this is normal, people do it all the time, and besides, Eddie would feel completely betrayed if he knew and their relationship is so new that it's just not worth the risk. The absolute last thing he wants is to upset Eddie and this will just make him upset so really, Steve is doing the honorable thing by just not telling him, by pretending that he's not hiding anything, that everything is fine.
But it's not Eddie that catches him; hell, it isn't even someone in the Party; it's Jeff, Eddie's friend/Hellfire Club member/Corroded Coffin bandmate who shows up too early for D&D at Steve's one day and sees something he shouldn't have.
"This isn't what it looks like."
Jeff walks into the kitchen and frowns, like he's confused by what he's seeing and why Steve is so anxious, why he's sweating like he's just run a marathon. "It looks like you're blending a bunch of veggies together in a blender."
Shit. "Okay, it's exactly what it looks like."
Jeff still looks confused. "And this is a big deal because - "
"Because I haven't told Eddie that the 'special pasta sauce' that I've been using the last three months whenever we have spaghetti and meatballs is actually entirely made of, like, ten different kinds of vegetables," Steve rushes out, and Jeff's face smoothes in understanding.
"Oh, yeah, that makes sense. The dude has a weird vendetta against veggies."
Steve groans, slumping in relief. "Tell me about it. Do you know how hard it is to hide veggies in every single meal that I make for him? Because if I don't, then he's never going to eat them, and I'm worried about his health enough as it is."
Jeff nods. "It's the smoking, right?"
"The smoking, and the drinking, and I know he's sneaking out to smoke with Jon and Argyle, but he doesn't exercise and he only eats highly processed cereal with loads of sugar and I just don't want him to have a heart attack before the age of forty!"
"Hey, hey, Steve, man, your secret's safe with me." Jeff holds his hands up in supplication. "And for the record, I'm on your side. The dude is like a feral raccoon."
"I know," Steve sighs. "But he's my feral raccoon."
That makes Jeff start laughing. "If it makes you feel any better, my mom and I have been doing the same thing for years now. If you want, we could exchange recipes sometime."
"Really?" Steve perks up and now, now he's excited. "That would be great!"
"Sick. Need some help with the meatballs?"
"Please!"
And that is how Eddie and Gareth and Phil and Dustin and Mike and Lucas and Erica and Will find them later, chatting and laughing while Steve tosses his homemade noodles into his now-simmering pasta sauce, Jeff sitting on the kitchen island and drinking a beer.
This time, it's Jeff who looks like he's seen a ghost. "This isn't what it looks like."
"Oh?" Eddie asks, and his voice is totally controlled, which means that Jeff is screwed. "So you're not hanging out with my boyfriend and making him do that cute little blushy giggle that is my cute blushy giggle?"
"Eddie!" Steve scolds, but it's too late, Jeff knows his fate is sealed.
"Okay, it's exactly what it looks like."
(Jeff's rogue is caught in the blast zone when Dustin's ranger kills a large acid toad. Still, he can't feel too mad when he sees Eddie smirk and then lick the veggie sauce out of his pasta bowl.)
