(Internet being spotty, so typing this out kinda quick. Apologies for any mistakes or Rambliness™️!)

(For anyone who may just happen across this: Kitty is the Sith Pureblood, Jen is the Cathar lol)

1. What were their first impressions of one another?

Jen didn't trust Kitty as far as he could throw him. Jen is lowkey scared of Sith, so one look at Kitty's face without knowing him had him on edge - he only let Kitty on his crew in the first place so his kids could have a roof over their heads.

Kitty was grateful of Jen, respected him for his help, but found him arrogant and kind of unbearable to be around for extended periods of time.

Obviously those negative impressions didn't last lol

2. What was their first date like? If they haven't been on a date yet, how would it go?

Theirs was pretty stereotypical. Baesk babysat the kids, Jen and Kitty went to a nicer cantina for drinks. They flirted, laughed, exchanged stories, that kind of thing. Kitty also proved to be a lightweight - Jen thought it was hilarious, but had to call Corso to help get Kitty back to the ship so he could sleep it off.

12. What would they say each other's worst quality is?

Jen thinks Kitty's is his selfishness when it comes to strangers in need. He won't risk his own life for someone he doesn't know, and it's caused some arguments.

Kitty 100% thinks it's Jen's tendency to run headfirst into things with zero planning or preparation.

13. What would they say each other's best quality is?

Jen adores Kitty's soft-spoken nature, and also thinks his medical know-how is invaluable to the crew.

Kitty thinks it's Jen's selflessness and courage when it comes to helping those in need; he admires it, but has a hard time being the same way, himself.

28. Are they affectionate in public? Is it too much?

While Kitty is a little more reserved simply due to the fact he's quiet around strangers, neither of them is afraid of PDA. They're happy to hold hands, hug, give a passing kiss on the lips or cheek, and Jen likes to bump his forehead against Kitty's chest or neck.

Jen is also subject to purr if Kitty has an arm around him.

50. Is there anything that scares them about their friendship/relationship?

They're both afraid of losing each other to something stupid - which can make Jen's tendency to put himself in dangerous situations pretty scary for Kitty.

Lina saw a loyal trooper, and was interested in learning more about his experiences since her brother was also in the Republic military.

Felix saw a surprisingly stubborn Jedi with a bright smile. He was...pretty smitten almost immediately.

2. What was their first date like? If they haven't been on a date yet, how would it go?

They both suspect Synnda purposefully tasked everyone else with things offboard to give them some time alone, though he never confirmed nor denied when asked about it. They took it as a chance to talk in private, get to know each other better without Tharan or Zenith making comments or Nadia giggling when she thought they wouldn't notice.

They never really had an "official" first date where they went somewhere fancy or spent fun time together, but that night alone was a big step for their relationship, and they fell asleep with Lina laying her head on his chest.

12. What would they say each other's worst quality is?

Lina thinks it's Felix's tendency to be selfless to the point of putting himself in extreme danger. She's had a few scares because of it.

Felix thinks it's Lina's poor improvisational skills. When Plans A and B fail, she balks, and he's always worried it'll get her or someone else hurt when it happens.

13. What would they say each other's best quality is?

Lina loves that he does what he thinks is right, but also that he's not really a by-the-book type of guy. She quickly grew to admire his leadership when she saw how he dealt with his men on Hoth.

Felix loves her arms her big heart and how it pairs with her sarcasm for a pretty damn endearing personality. He also likes that she's a good team player, working very well with most groups.

28. Are they affectionate in public? Is it too much?

They're both pretty reserved in public, though a passing peck on the cheek isn't unheard of. Their reservations on PDA is a leftover habit from when Lina was a Jedi, but they both know they don't need a bunch of it to know they love each other.

50. Is there anything that scares them about their friendship/relationship?

Lina's worst fear already came to a head when Zakuul captured Felix. She could sense he was alive, and his distress was great enough even she could feel it, and she worried every day for when that feeling would just. End. And she'd know he was gone. She bawled her eyes out when they were reunited on Odessen. (It didn't help that her brother was Also missing for about half that time, and when he came back he was in Bad shape, so she had a lot of thoughts about what might be happening to her husband which just distressed her more)

Felix is afraid of losing her in any way, though to age is what he worries about most (since she's a doctor/healer, so personally not in danger very often). She's a few years older than him, so it's fairly likely she'll die before him. He was admittedly also a little worried that in the years he was missing that she was no longer in love with him, or that she'd even found someone else. He felt guilty about it, but reminds himself that the thought was put in his head by Jarak, while he actually knows Lina.

1. What made you ship it?

well it helps that it was a canon ship in the comics i was reading and its easier for me to imagine canon ships than make up my own dynamic

but obviously i'm not a fan of every canon ship i see so what really made me ship it was how they each go and do their own thing and then bring that positive energy back to each other. they're both independent and don't need each other but they can still help each other.

and i'll confess seeing a woman using a wheelchair who is allowed to be an equal part in a relationship and not damseled is like a breath of fresh air. TBH even seeing women in wheelchairs using relationships is less common

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

... i kind of answered that in the first question. I guess how gradual it is and how they have a good friend and professional dynamic first.

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

i don't ship batgirlbabs/dick the dynamic ONLY works if shes oracle. and  disabled (I know they’re trying to do AB babs/dick in the new nightwing comics but :/ its so unnecessary for her to be AB anyway and she hasn’t gotten to do anything cool in the granted 2 issues i read but

What made you ship it?

Felix is just such a genuinely nice and good guy who cares for the people he works with and cares for jedi consular's boundaries and the comfort of his friends.

What are your favorite things about the ship?

... I'm having a pattern here but again how independent they are and how their dynamic is based on mutual respect.

re: independence before you meet felix he is in charge of his own group of dudes on hoth and handles the situation with the mutiny, he doesn't need harin so but he appreciates having zir around. when he joins the crew he wants to find a place where he like genuinely belongs and isn't just having transfer after transfer due to being bad luck and i can't remember whether he choses to join the crew or is assigned to join, but i feel like he would have gone no matter what.

also like how they genuinely trust each other to get things done. Felix trusts harin so to get zir own stuff done and harin so trusts felix to do that nearly suicide mission right before corelia (even though zie hates having to watch). they have the ideal relationship with a jedi partner which is all love and no attachment or jealousy

... hard to have an unpopular opinion when one character is an OC. :P

Yay! A cute, fluffy fic for Rinnie! From Writing Prompts 2.0, #20. H-how long have you been standing there?

Rineth was in her quarters on her ship, nearly pacing a trench in the floor and muttering to herself.

“Felix, there’s something we need to talk about. No, that’s not right. Felix, I need to speak with you, it’s important.” She takes a deep breath and continues her practice conversation. “I-- I love you, darling. More than anything. Enough to step away from... hmm, no, that’s not...” She sighed in frustration. For a diplomat, she was certainly having a hard time figuring out the right words to say. “I care about you more than I can say. You make me feel special, like never before. You appreciate me, just for who I am, not because of what I’ve done as a Jedi or what I can do with the Force. Just... me. And it’s wonderful and astonishing and...” She trails off with a small smile, then continues.

“I don’t care-- no, not ‘I don’t care,’ that sounds terrible..  it doesn’t bother me that you have a Sith Holocron in your head -- though it makes me so angry that someone willingly hurt you, just to....” She frowns and takes a calming breath. “It doesn’t matter to me, I will always care for you-- no, take care of you forever. No no, ‘care for you’ sounds better. He is a fully-functioning adult, after all. I’ll keep you safe-- no, keep you from harm. Ugh, too much? Too much.” Rineth puts her hands on her hips and shakes her head at herself. “Oh Force, I’m being ridiculous; just say it, Rineth. It’s not as though Felix is going to tell you he wants to leave because you can’t find the perfect way to tell him you love him. Stars.”

As she takes another deep breath, Rineth hears the subtle shift of armor plating against a door frame. She whirls around and realizes that she hadn’t closed the door completely and, with panic plain on her face, she sputters out the first thing the that comes to mind. “H-how long have you been standing there?”

“Long enough,” Felix counters with a small smile, arms and legs crossed while relaxing against the frame.

Rineth groans in embarrassment and her hands fly up of their own accord to cover the color blossoming on her face. Felix’s tender smile grows and he approaches her gently. Taking her hands in his, he leans forward and kisses her flushed cheeks. “I love you too, Rinnie. I can’t wait to hold you to that whole ‘taking care of me forever’ thing. Mostly the ‘forever’ bit, though.”

He wraps his arms around her slim shoulders for a brief hug before tilting her face upwards and placing a soft kiss on her lips.

'With snow outside' from the cuddling prompts for Sircia & Felix or Eiri & Koth

I did both because I could.

Sircia x Felix

“It’s snowing,” he says, trying to sound affronted.

Sircia nuzzles into his shoulder and he wonders if he woke her up or prevented her from falling asleep.

“It does that here. Are you angry?�� she asks, lifting her head enough to look up at him.

Felix isn’t an angry person and he’s fairly sure if he was it would be mitigated by his new wife draped sleepily over him.

“That my wife,” he says just because he likes saying it now that they’re married, “picked somewhere cold for our vacation after Hoth?”

“I thought it was fitting. To begin our marriage as we began our friendship.”

He brushes his thumb over the soft material covering her chest - over her heart and the newly healed tattoos there (two circles, soft edges unlike most other Mirialan tattoos, made of interlocking triangles).

She covers his hand with her own, lacing their fingers together.

It’s a good point but he can’t give the snow a win. His wife on the other hand…

“If it makes you happy,” he says, kissing the top of her head lightly.

Eiri x Koth

Koth alternates watching the snow fall outside and watching Eiri. She’s restless for her, which doesn’t look a whole different from not restless. She can be pretty hard to read but he’s learning her little tells.

Like the slight tightening of her fingers against the fabric of her tunic. As if she’s trying hide that she’s trying to warm them. Or how she occasionally shifts her weight, something she only ever does in the cold.

It didn’t really bother him in the distracting way. He’d barely notice if he wasn’t looking for it. He’s not sure how he feels about her grin and bear it approach though. It had its benefits, at other times, in other places.

“Hey,” he says and waits for her to look over at him; she’s not smiling, another sign of her discomfort and one she only displays when they’re alone together.

“Come over here.”

She doesn’t ask what he wants, just pads over to him, steps light without her heavy boots on. She doesn’t even come to a full stop in front of him before he grabs her by the waist and pulls her into his lap.

She blinks in confusion. He gathers up her cold hands in one of his and presses them up against his chest. He manages not to flinch from how cold her fingers are. She probably can’t even feel them.

“Stay here for awhile,” he says, turning up the end of the sentence so it sounds like a question.

“Okay,” she says, pressing a soft kiss to the base of his throat.

When he’s sure she’s not going to move her hands, he wraps both arms around her, pulling her close against him, sharing his warmth.

Why I Can’t Play A Dark-Side Jedi In SWTOR

Let me start off by saying I totally respect the right of any player to play their SWTOR character however they like.

You want to declare Skadge your favorite companion? Knock yourself out. You want to kill [X] ? That is your choice.

Having said all that… there’s a reason I can’t play a Dark-Sided Jedi. Either Knight or Consular.

I can play a dark-sided Smuggler. I can play a … mostly neutral-ish Trooper. I can play a light-Sith Warriors, Sith Inquisitors, Imperial Agents and Bounty Hunters… and I’ve enjoyed most of all that.

But I simply can’t do that kind of ‘switch’ with the Jedi OCs.

Its because of their companions, and what their companions need from them.

Felix Iresso is dealing with legitimate psychological and professional trauma. His brief time as an Imperial prisoner and his memory loss have ruined his career. Is it technically possible to be kind and appreciative of him as a dark side Consular? Yes. Is it realistic? Probably not. A DS JC should be drooling to make use of the Holocron in Felix’s head.

Felix deserves better than that.

Kira Carsen has had a rough life. She was a child on Korriban, and that was rough. The Sith Emperor extended his consciousness into her mind, and that was rough. She fled the planet – something only two acolytes on record have accomplished – and that was rough. Then she spent her teenage years growing up on Nar Shaddaa, where she was constantly surrounded by criminals. That was really rough.

Bela Kiwiiks has been good for her. Kira says as much and shows it in her actions as well. But Kiwiiks is also fairly orthodox, and someone like Kira can find that suffocating. Nevertheless, for most of the game, her moral code is pretty damn close to ideal.

Kira will pick up pretty quick on a dark-side Jedi Knight. She’s not afraid to call them out, even if the DS JK isn’t inherently unkind to her.

She doesn’t deserve to deal with a dark-side Knight who will compromise her own ethics.

At the time Nadia Grell becomes an actual companion, she is reeling from the death of her father.

That state of mind – in a Padawan – requires an abundance of compassion and patience.

Most Dark-Siders are not known for those qualities.

Nadia needs better.

T7-O1 is best boy. He is the most precious little paragon in the game. Don’t rain on him.
