okay, unhinged but theoretically possible jeremy prediction/theory/idea:

we know that mathilda took jeremy's documents and even though he's searched the house on different occasions, he can't find them. we also know that the only thing that survived the house fire was what laila & cat kept in the safe, which i assume was their documents.

so what if jeremy requests duplicates/reissues of his? if he says he kept them in the house and they got burned, it's not like mathilda can go "well actually, i've had them hidden all along". it would be weird that they weren't in his primary place of residence, yes, but why would a wilshire want a second social security card and passport? the wilshire name would clear him of suspicion for fraud etc i think.

something like Jeremy’s freshman fall banquet being an absolute disaster and Rhemann being the one to go get him out of jail. Rhemann being the one to try to hold him together as Jeremy screams for Noah. something like James Rhemann having held a boy together long before Jean Moreau came into his life. something like that past experience making none of it any easier. yeah, something like that.

What if what's happening with Jeremy is that Bryson's drugs are discovered?

Something happens, and Bryson's drugs are discovered in his room, and Bryson says they're Jeremy's because he's cornered.

Jeremy, outraged, furious, says, "Are they? Let's do a drug test right now, this instant. A blood test, whatever you want. We can do whatever you need to corroborate who's taking drugs, who's been taking them for years, who gave them to me in the first place like I told you once. Let's finally clear up any doubts."

But…

But…

Bryson is straight, a law student, and the face of the Wilshires. He is, perhaps, his "grandfather's" future heir.

And the Wilshires have to choose between a drug addict who hasn't yet been exposed as such, and Jeremy, a gay former addict, who failed once and could do it again. Jeremy, who also seems unable to let go of that French boy, the son of mobsters, who has many friends from a community foreign to the image the Wilshires want to portray.

When the police arrive, Warren says NO to Bryson's drug test. It's not necessary.

The drugs are Jeremy's.

But the worst part… the worst part of all this… is that Mathilda knows they're Bryson's (everyone knows because Bryson doesn't want to take the tests and Jeremy begs them to), and when Jeremy calls out to her with a pleading look and watery eyes when she doesn't say anything ("Mom… they're not mine… Mom, you know it… Mom, please…"), Mathilda looks at him, absentmindedly fixes his hair, and says:

"We'll fix it, Jeremy, but you have to do this for your family. You owe us, honey. You owe us, don't you think?"

And the police take him away.

And this is Jeremy's breaking point: knowing that everything he's done has been worthless because it wasn't about "drugs" or "Noah." It's always been about "who Jeremy is."

Okay so before TSC came out, I asked Nora “What is a pet peeve of Jeremy's?” And she replied: “Right now the thing that annoys him the most is something that's kinda spoiler-ish.”

now that TSC is out, DOES ANYONE THINK THEY KNOW WHAT IT IS???

Things that need to be resolved in book 3 but we're only at the end of September and there's 7 months left to cover so how long is this book going to be or are we not getting to the end of the school year this time?????

- Jeremy vs the LSAT

- Jeremy's family exploding and the fallout from that. Maybe over thanksgiving or Christmas break. Joshua visiting potential? Bryson would be home too. Jeremy would probably be getting his LSAT results around one of them

- Whatever the hell is up with the FBI. Potential Moriyama downfall?? That seems too good to be true but I don't know what else it would be working towards. Maybe Ichirou knows they're suspicious and releases them from their deal because it would be super obvious something was up if those three specifically were giving away 80% of their salary

- Laila figuring out the Moriyama's are mafia/her family digging into what the FBI is up to because something is definitely going down with that (post about that here)

- French tutor that I'm suspicious of

- Halloween, Jean Cody birthday party, thanksgiving, Winter banquet, Christmas/New Year's break, Jeremy birthday, spring break, championship game

- Jeremy and Jean relationship

- Zane's suicide because I highly doubt he's making it through this series alive

- Jabberwocky scenes!!

- Pat Cody Ananya situation

- Laila backstory because it's definitely coming with all the little hints adding up
