My blog name 沈黙 which means [silence] really simple and peaceful.
I started learning Japanese in January 2019, but my progress was really slow. So... Lately I decided to get some motivation from other people that achieve their goals faster.
I was so envy, because in a year someone was able to achieve N4-N3 level. But how? Where is my mistake? Is it because I can’t manage my time well? I asked myself this questions (really) and I’m here to find out.
So... Language goals
• Finish my JLPT N5 book
• Learn grammar more (because even if I recognize a lot of kanji, without grammar I can’t understand the meaning)
• Improve my English from Upper-Intermediate to Advanced (who knows, maybe)
I will update my goals time to time.
Blog goals
• Motivate myself to learn Japanese (more)
Let’s be honest, studying is always hard, I just want to make my studying process more entertaining.
• Read other study blogs
Blog which have inspired me to start my langblr: @miuna-lngblr @chokopan
Thank you for reading my introduction.
P.S. Give this post a like (especially if you learn Japanese), so I can read your blog too.
です used at the end of the sentence for formalities (formal)
何 (なに)
Grammar
が used to define the object of a subject(aka emphasize something that is apart of the subject that is not yourself). Also used to emphasize something that does not necessarily belong to the speaker.
Ex.
象の鼻が長いです。The elephant's nose is long.
トムさんの家が大きいです。Tom's house is big. (with emphasis on the house)
が + 好き to like something - が always comes before 好き
This phrase means to become or it will be. It indicates a gradual change over time. When used with a negative verb, it can mean not Verb any more.
The phrase Vないようになる is very similar to Vなくなる. However, Vないようになる means that the change happened over a longer period of time or a bit more gradual. Both do mean the same thing at the base level: not Verb any more.
Compare this with last week’s post of ようにする (to try to ) :
- 日本語を上手になったいるので、アニメをみるようにする。 VS
- 毎日日本語を勉強しているので、日本語を上手に話すようになる。
Ex: タバコが悪いだから、吸わないようになった。
Ex:お茶が好きながお茶を見つけないから、飲まなくなった。
Verb-non-pastように
This phrase is used to state either a purpose, or used to state a way something is to be done.
Meaning: so that ~ or in such a way that ~.
Verb represents a state which is beyond the control of the subject of Y.
X ように Y implies consequence X will happen due to action Y.
EX: 日本語が上手になる ように 毎日勉強している。
EX: 運転するように、運転免許に合格 する。
思う ように ~ ない
This phrase means something is not in accord with speaker's/writer's (subject's) wishes or desires.
Today’s Counter is: 個 (こ – ko)🍎 ★ You can use the Japanese counter 個 (こ – ko) to count a wide variety of things such as apples, eggs, and other small compact objects. ★ The Japanese word for the one (small compact object) is 1個 (いっこ – ikko). ★ The Japanese word for two (small compact objects) is 2個 (にこ – niko). ★ The Japanese word for three (small compact objects) is 3個 (さんこ – sanko).
