I recently got an animation cel of Snagglepuss that was autographed by Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera! A question for any Hanna-Barbera nerds out there, does anyone know which cartoon this frame of Snagglepuss comes from? I was hoping the background would be a giveaway.
The cause for preserving gag humour, as explained by no less than Joe Barbera in The Hollywood Reporter for 25 February 1988:
(Which, come to think of it, could be considered something for the Greater Hanna-Barbera Fandom to think about and ponder, especially with the more esoterically obscure characters as may have lasted but one season and yet have that hidden je ne sais quoi as is yet untapped for fanfic, fan art and fanimation. Think, if you will, of the recent reboots of Holly Hobbie, Strawberry Shortcake and the Care Bears by American Greetings for a starting-point.)
Since the new year is finally in (happy new years to all). Here is a post for this new year. A clip of stupid but funny dialouge Warren Foster puts in from the 1959 Huckleberry Hound short, Nottingham & Yeggs

🐾 I based these character studies on rough model sheet drawings of a puppy version of Astro by Willie Ito. In the 70s, Hanna-Barbera was in the process of developing a reboot of “The Jetsons”. It would’ve revolved around Elroy as a teenager and Judy as an ace reporter. CBS turned down the idea in favor of “The Patridge Family 2200 AD”. 🚀
