Realistically, I think Terry Silver would hate that. 😬

Not the spending time with John Kreese bit in whatever capacity said time might be spent, but the fact that there's this little kid there...taking up all the damn attention. And he doesn't like sharing. He wants to be the focus. He wants him and John to be the focus and them hanging out. Sure, he charmingly tolerates her for John's sake (and for their Sensei's sake) because John seems taken with her and Terry, he follows John's lead, always, doing everything to appease his friend, but at the same time it's like a clear distraction for the two of them, the adult men, to actually go and do adult men things while out in Korea. They survived Vietnam, for god's sake! They're going through some of the most torturous, backbreaking training known to man under this Master. They've earned their leisure and their fun. Terry's thinking a night out, hookers, blackjack, cigars, some unhinged underground sex club somewhere, down in some nearby city where they preform the craziest things and booze and he'll undoubtedly insist on paying the entire bill for all of these activities too, because why not, but here's this little girl John's playing house with and mothering. Oh, he's a caregiver alright, it is just that Terry thinks John should, you know...stop. It's like, first it is Johnny Lawrence being his hyperfocus back in the States and now it's Kim Da Eun in Korea. They could go out into the jungles of Borneo and Terry swears John would found a pet project for himself there too and there he would be, good, devoted friend that he is, entirely indulging him in it. If he wants to adopt, he should've just said so. Terry knows some people who know some people who can make all the right calls. Sheesh. And what's worse, Master Kim Sun-Yung might just agree with Terry's sentiment and think Da Eun has no business taking up his student's time because this isn't a kindergarten, this is a dojang --- they're his acolytes and not her play-dates, nannies and friends --- leading to punishment possibly ensuing for the little girl. Children with children. Men with men. Keep the two separate is what Master Kim Sun-Yung could say. If Terry discreetly rats her out (which he just might if it means this whole summer camping nonsense is put an end to) he thinks it is well deserved and Terry's convinced it was well deserved too seeing as how this kid downright got in the way of everything, mainly John and him. Master Kim doesn't consider John that good of a student not based on skill, but perhaps due to this lingering softness that should just die already. And it definitely does die by the 80's --- we know that. Terry doesn't have it. That's why he's the actual star golden boy of the dojang. He's duplicitous, he tells on people, he schemes, he's cruel, he's slithery, he's so disciplined and self-content about it he's almost too rigid at times and these are, ironically, top notch Cobra qualities their Master appreciates even at the expense of his own grandchild.

Because Silver knows the creed and ways of things around here.

A little too well, I might add. Takes to it like a fish to water.

He just stands by and blankly watches Da Eun get flogged by her grandfather, even going as far as trying to stop John from intervening. That man doesn't give that many damns for that girl. Perhaps he was only ever just nice enough to warrant Da Eun wanting to fly in to to States decades later, but even that, by the looks of her, she did begrudgingly. First thing she does is ask for John. Woman wasn't at all tremendously pleased to see Terry. Sure, she and her goons immensely respect him and bow to him, but there's no visibly grand warmth there.

But, like, not that we'll ever know for sure, but I feel there's an obvious reason Kim Da Eun likes John Kreese much better in later years and it is the clear fact he was somehow, in ways we'll never see, more genuine towards her. Kids have a way of sensing this. And the adults later on carry this realization forth with them through life. John liked her and Terry was only pretending to, and in fact, probably not even pretending that hard. He never once interacts with her as a child and possibly cordially ignored her and was only ever that typical, artificial manner of faux-polite for the Master's and John's sake. I could be reaching with the characterization but I feel, somewhere deep down, in the vaguest of ways, Kim Da Eun remembers.

Not that Terry dislikes Da Eun, he probably only ever liked her around because John liked her around (And anything for John, right?) but that is probably simultaneously the reason he didn't like her around too much.

I often think about how chill and low-key Kreese was with Robby when he was in Cobra Kai, in contrast to his attitude towards Johnny in the original film. He went out of his way to be excessively nice to Robby, to the point where I don't think they had a single negative one-on-one interaction, apart from telling him he needed to not go easy on Kenny in a tournament setting if he wanted to win (which is also extremely Chill By Kreese Standards (TM.))

It's not even a particularly bad thing to say in that context, or at all, Robby just realized winning wasn't really what he wanted out of being in the dojo. He left for reasons that were largely unrelated to Kreese, which I think came off as a bit of an anti-climax considering Sensei's uh, dramatic student/teacher breakup with Johnny.

I have come to the conclusion that this is the John Kreese version of the hard-ass parent who turns it around in their twilight years and spoils the grandchild.

I can’t believe LaKreese is a thing and I can’t believe it works so well. How dare it be so good? How dare John and Daniel be so compatible in AU-land? I swear, Daniel’s the perfect sassy little boywife a prickly bear like Kreese needs in his life. C’mon, Daniel would always have good food on the table, scrapbooks of their adventures, and never not be up for a snuggle and a cuddle. But Daniel's no pushover. Kreese says one wrong thing at the breakfast table and Daniel will be gripping that spatula tight in his fist ready to kill.

Kreese knows how to sweet talk ok.

They drive each other crazy but Kreese is a gruff, prickly man who craves a soft caring touch. And Daniel wants somebody to care for while feeling safe and protected. It's perfect!

I headcanon that when they move in together, the adjustment period of living with someone is easier than both of them expected.

And while Kreese likes having a little ready made wife around, it isn't until Daniel starts decorating that he really starts to fall in love.

In CK Kreese is shown to decorate his space with old army photos and memorabilia. And remember how Daniel made that little box for Mr. Miyagi's medals? He wants to display those things proudly too.

So imagine with his own boyfriend.

Kreese comes home one day after work to find Daniel finishing hanging up one of his framed certifications. Photos and medals from Vietnam line every wall, along with photos of Kreese and Daniel(their trip to the grand canyon fits perfectly with all the other Americana)

Every wall is covered. It looks homey, it looks lived in.

Kreese is touched. Daniel turns to see him and breaks out in a wide grin. Practically tackles Kreese to welcome him home. He can tell by the way that Kreese's chest is puffed out with a soft smile that his boyfriend is pleased.

And Kreese is totally old-fashioned enough that he'd propose after a month 🤣

It's what you do when you live with someone, right? Daniel deserves to be made an honest (wo)man, right? It's only proper(although what Daniel did last night was anything but proper...).

And honestly, Kreese hasn't looked at anyone else much less thought of anyone else, as obsessed with the kid as he is.

It just makes sense. Kreese needs to lock that shit down!

Instead of Kreese coming back after Johnny re-opens Cobra Kai, it's Terry. Terry seeing Johnny in the slutty gi (for the first time or for the first time in 30 years). For MILF Johnny, Terry gets to see him mentoring Miguel (and maybe helps Johnny get into Robby's good graces). And let us not forget, a regularly dicked down Johnny is just a better person (this is mostly about Terry getting to see Johnny in that gi - whether or not Johnny knows that's what he's doing)

He sees the ad, sees him in that gi, and immediately starts planning, therapy be damned.

He never met Johnny in canon until CK (which is so unrealistic and a waste of potential), but going off canon or even them meeting many years ago, it’d be real easy for Silver to charm his way into getting Johnny’s wary trust. The man is as snippy as an abused animal; he wonders what the hell Kreese did to get him that way, some of it out of morbid curiosity. He’s so very protective of all the kids in the dojo, looking like he wants to shield all of them with his body, as if that’s possible, when Terry shows up.

And he looked even better in person. Isn’t it indecent exposure to have your tits out like that? Plump, and made for burying your face in and falling asleep, . He’d like very much to bite them, grope them, slap them, and see how he likes it. The way he just lets his usage fall completely open so even his nipples are showing, that’s far more than just the generous cleavage he was showing before. He’s sure Johnny got an influx of students after the ad; Terry didn’t even hear a single word coming out of his mouth the first time he watched he it.

He left out his affiliation with Kreese, deciding it was better to let Johnny find out himself or through his favorite mentee, who was just as fiercely protective of Johnny as Johnny was of him—Enough to do a background check on Silver with that Hawk boy. He likes watching Johnny interact with the kid, it’s adorable. Not at all how Silver would do it, but it adds to Johnny’s appeal the way his uncaring exterior breaks to check on the boy and assure him. He reminds Terry of one of the mothers he met in Ireland on vacation. Her hair was dyed platinum, and she was feistier than she was sweet. Her daughter was always by her side, clutching her hand or resting on her hip.

He’s so soft—chubby lil belly and love handles Terry wants to sink his teeth into. He’s much different from the few photos John showed him from his wallet when gushing, but not any better or worse—Lawrence was still ravishing then, looked like a petite dream—but just different. Cracked from age and consistent violence from others and himself, little wisps of gray in that golden hair. Silver started graying in his 30s.

He knows he wasn’t imagining the way Johnny stares at his hands or misunderstanding that look in his big blue eyes when Silver had him pinned firmly and small beneath him as anything other than "Fuck me."

He likes seeing Johnny on his knees, loves how he instantly knows where to keep his hands, says "sir" and waits until he’s told he can stand back up—even if Lawrence will be defiant as can be when they aren’t alone, when Silver isn’t 8 inches down his throat and calling him a good boy, when he isn’t slapping him for backtalking and watching Johnny’s face turn dazed and full of want. Watch the attitude drain from him. He seems to like it when Terry covers his mouth up with his hand too, it always makes him get so much tighter.

(Johnny also gets a real kick out of Silver showing him new moves, thinks he looks good when he’s a little sweaty and breathless.)

Johnny spoke to him in bed about Robby, right after Silver held him down by the back of his nape (careful not to squeeze his throat and snap him out of his needy mood by making him remember) and pounded him long and hard, just how he asked for it

He was fragile, lying far from Silver with his back turned, an empty canvas compared to Terry’s scratched up back and shoulders from all their other times. Terry would like to take care of that, but Johnny is insistent he doesn’t leave too many, lest the kids see ask questions. So Terry settles for bruising up his thick thighs and "accidental" marks on his lovely wrists. One day, Johnny will enjoy having marks all over him.

"I wish I had been better. I wish I wasn’t like my dad. I mean, I’m not like my mom…I hope."

"I don’t care for them, but Isn’t that what you call a bright side?"

Johnny turned to look at him, face red with earned shame. "No. And there is no bright side to this. I just…I just want to make things better for him. I know that It’s not something I’ve earned, but I want his life to be as easy as can be." He swallows. "I want him to feel better; I…he shouldn’t be living the way he is, he deserves so much better. I love him so fucking much—"

Silver smiled. He doesn’t care much about absent parents or the morality of it all, but he cares about Johnny. He got somewhere, he earned some trust. Or maybe Johnny is so broken that he pours his heart out to any man who fucks him. He wants all of Johnny his. "I can take care of that; Robby."

Johnny bit the inside of his cheek and wondered if there was a debt he would owe, but agreed—Robby needs to start coming first.

It wasn’t easy. Robby was angry from the start, telling Terry and Johnny to piss off. Believing Terry to be a scam artist and Johnny to be an idiot.

Johnny had pulled out the wad of cash he had begrudgingly accepted from Terry earlier, begging Robby to take it. "Please, you need it."

"I don’t need you."

Johnny’s eyes were glossy, and his bottom lip was quivering a little. Terry felt a strange urge to kiss him until it stopped. Sickening.

"You don’t, that’s true, but you should have what you do need."

Robby looked between the two of them, his gaze a lot harsher when he looked at Terry—like he wanted to say "Don’t hurt my dad" but refused to, then he snatched the money and left without a word.

It was a long, harsh conversation, but after a couple of weeks of Johnny making consistent contact with him and getting provided for, Robby agreed to come over for dinner.

Johnny didn’t want to use Terry’s chef. "I’m not a toddler, I don’t need other people cooking for me. I want to cook for him—I’ve been practicing."

Terry watched him cook the whole time, glass of wine in hand. He admired the way Johnny looked with that apron tied in a bow around his waist and covered in dainty flowers and owls. Terry set his drink down to step up behind Johnny and grab the bow like a handle to pull him flush to his chest.

The food wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t beef jerky spaghetti, and Robby ate it while Johnny pretended he wasn’t watching him proudly.

It could have been described as pleasant, a tiny sliver of hope for something better.

And Johnny was so grateful to Terry, looking up at him, sweet, and happy. He makes Terry’s heart beat faster and makes him just a little less in control in a way that panicked him as much as it excited him, confused him.

Lawrence could be his partner in crime. His partner, by his side, planning with him, playing games. John didn’t find it worth the time, but he thinks Johnny might.

And Johnny wants to, deep down where he’s been ignoring it.

He still doesn’t trust Terry completely, the man is like a blood hungry shark, teeth showing and all, but damn if that isn’t hot to Johnny. Why not have fun?

Do you only see Johnny as “Omega” in Knights and Pawns, or in any Omegaverse you write? Do you see him as “omegacoded” in the KK/CK universe too? Not arguing, just really like hearing your takes ^_^ Anyway That interests me, because I always see him as Alpha, but one who is desperate to be acknowledged and praised, especially when he is young or in his depressed alcoholic mode. Like, an insecure Alpha who needs a solid pep talk! Terry I can’t see as anything but 100% Alpha ever even when he is in “Twig” mode (and TIG by nature screams Alpha), Kreese is Alpha 100%, and Daniel is always very Omega-coded to me no matter what verse lol, bless him. Interestingly, I see Amanda as Alpha too, so your take on her in this fic was a good twist for me and totally unexpected.

Amanda was totally unexpected for people in-universe! Amanda though in CK is a little against type, too - the way the people in her hometown rub in her face that she was too aggressive when young. Had she been Alpha, that would be entirely unremarkable in this verse, so here we keep that discomfort by making her omega!

I've written both Johnny and Amanda as Alpha, too, as those are easy fits. It's simply that CK Johnny is so uncomfortable in his "manliness". Far more than in the films. He seems to know who he is quite well, he simply loses himself around Daniel, as a teenager. But he's floundering so much in the series! Also, again, the way he takes to Alpha types (Ali is the one going after Daniel, protective of Daniel), Ali and Amanda... The way he simply doesn't fight Kreese's takeover of Cobra Kai, and agrees to a tournament with Kreese when the latter is lucky to be alive... man folds too easily. He could simply be an Alpha in need of a pep talk, but I feel like he's a baby boy in need of a kiss on the nose.

It didn't have to be this way, of course. Billy floated the idea of Johnny as a doctor in charge of Miyagi's care, which honestly follows more logically imho from what we see in the films, preppy rich kid becoming a doctor. I've known my fair share of doctors and doctors to be, and they're often very Alpha types; he would be an Alpha then (but not in my verse here, as I've booted Alphas out of the profession.)

So for me it's easy to see film!Johnny as Alpha, and I've written him as such. But series!Johnny could easily be overcompensating omega for me.

Twig I don't know about. I've already said what we see of him in Vietnam and Korea is extremely heavily coloured by John Kreese's perception of him (and his good opinion of himself).

Honestly the way TIG and Ralph interact, to me, is like an actual Alpha and omega having been dropped into our world. Ralph is not necessarily like this with everyone, if even the Omega watch brand thinks he's omega coded! And Thomas is simply Like That. Sigh 🥰. And yes, Kreese and also Marty are Alpha types, if Marty is much sweeter! I love his wit!

I bet Terry is a lonely man, he seems to surround himself with people who only seem to want something from him or being paid by him. Do you think who has anyone in his life that just enjoys his company?

Probably not.

And that is the tragedy of Terry Silver.

Not saying he isn't undeniably charming, charismatic, slick and likeable or that he cannot expertly get individuals to like him or that he doesn't understand how to wrap someone around his little finger to the degree they find themselves made weirdly curious by him, ensnared, enchanted, enthralled, even tricked, but a great many of the connections we witness lack...that something.

In canon, we never see him hang out with anyone who isn't a paid employee, a mercenary, a hired goon, a very obvious sugar baby escort he's sponsoring who isn't even trying to hide what she is, in fact, she seems proud of it, the sugar baby escort's vapid, wannabe friends, people he's bribing, people he's doing business with, people he's been threatening or people he's bought in some shape, way or form. That's it. When you think back to each and every interaction he's ever had, ranging back to TKK3, he has no connection to a single other human being that isn't quid-pro-quo for gain, mutual benefit, a (shady) deal or some sort, an employer-employee relationship, a teacher-student relationship or professional settlement.

Well, that is, except John Kreese.

John Kreese is by far the only friendship Terry has had in over forty years that isn't based strictly on materialism. It is based on a great many other things, sure, some healthy, some unhealthy, some admirable and some very dark, but it isn't based only and exclusively on money. The second one is Ponytail. One can count that into the category of situational friendships brought about by serving in the same platoon, but again, not on money. Which is, I think, precisely, outside of the trauma they're associated with, why these two particular friendships impacted and effected Terry as hard as they did; Because those were the only two he ever had within a whole lifetime, at least from what we see. When Ponytail died, it rewired Terry's brain hard enough for him to literally blend their identities together and when John left in '85, apparently, his mental breakdown was so severe he lost everything he had for a while, went into therapy and began larping as a completely different individual. Why? Because these two particular connections were actually genuine enough for him to be hurt by them and impacted in a very real sense. He has formed extremely few actual attachments to people in life, but those he has formed literally changed this man's mental state in more complex ways than can ever be explained.

there’s a lot of things that you haven’t revealed about yourself to your friends... like the fact that you’re an eldritch being, or the fact that your humanity switch had been flipped for an entire day after you’d had a particularly nasty run-in with a horde of cobra kai students - excluding robby, thank fucking void - a few days ago. that’d been a 5v1, & some part of you just decided you were slightly done with pretending to be weak, at least for that singular, isolated interaction in particular. there hadn’t been a punch thrown, no kick blocked, just general taunts & sneers from kyler & his band of clowns. after they’d left, you flipped your emotions back on, & that had been hell, even if they’d only been suppressed for a total of six minutes... almost that entire solo interaction. your depressive episodes have been rapidly pendulum-swinging violently between making you feel too much & not enough since then. right now, you’re glad your emotions are off, because if you had to look at robby when he’s like this, a member of cobra kai despite ( because? ) of everything, you would have lost your fucking mind.

but that emptiness you’re feeling is better than feeling too much. it’s better than anger, better than sadness, better than guilt ( YOU SHOULD HAVE TRIED HARDER TO STOP EVERY BAD THING FROM HAPPENING, ETHAN ! YOU’RE A FUCKING FAILURE ! ), better than the bone-deep, choking grief of losing your first love to monsters in the form of deranged, war-starving men. …it’s a little funny. you - the kidpool version of you - have killed people like that before, people who are so much worse than terry silver & john kreese, without so much as hesitating, or deliberating on the morality of anti-heroes. …or what your mom would say if she saw kidpool you surrounded, shoulder-deep, by corpses that were once clearly identifiable as human, ripped apart by stitched-together atoms in the form a little blond boy, small hands stained with enough wet grey matter for it to drip between your fingers. why you can’t raise a hand against your enemies in this universe is unknown, but that divine intervention is probably for the best of everyone around you.

you’re just standing in the middle of sam’s neighborhood, surrounded by cobra kai members who’d ran into you randomly. you’d walked from your apartment to the larusso house to clear your head, had dinner & hung out with sam, then started walking back to your apartment. they’d walked up to you. calling for back up is a little impossible right now.

you’re staring blankly at kyler & his four friends, your stance far too casual. the blank look on your face & the way you’re standing is not like you at all. it makes ciro slightly unnerved. as a result, he’s half-standing in front of talia & jaime, a warning to them ( & not to you ) is clear in his stance. ❝ don’t do anything, ❞ his body language screams. it’s not because he thinks they’re weak, but you’re the outlying factor here. you’re something he can’t predict, despite the literal millions of years of friendship between you. he doesn’t know what the fuck is going on with you lately, but the fact that it’s visibly unnerving him should be an indication to the two girls that you’re not… you, right now. ciro’s protection doesn’t extend to the other cobra kai members, which of course you’ve noticed.

GOOD. maybe you’ll get to blow off a little steam, witnesses be damned. you’ve been angry at the universe - at kreese & silver for manipulating robby - for far too long.

eventually, kyler gets annoyed at that fact that you’re not reacting to his taunts, & you simply roll your shoulders when he growls at you. you’re entirely unbothered, & a little bored, whereas kyler is growing increasingly aggravated. it’s something you’re counting on.

❝ you done? ❞ your tone is equal parts jarring to the others & robotic. it makes ciro have visceral reaction, goosebumps decorating his skin, physically scowling. he looks visibly unnerved. all of these emotions are unheard of for him. instinctively, he raises both arms up to gently push talia & jaime a step backwards. he’s treating you like a powder keg that’s about to explode, but his wariness isn’t unwarranted. something that you recognize.

you just… don’t fucking care about any of it anymore. the karate war, the crazed senseis, the drama between sam & tory. let robby do what he fucking wants. he’s a big boy, he doesn’t need you to look out for him anymore. he can ruin his own fucking life. you’re done caring.

( that’s what you think now, anyway. )

❝ no, wilson. i’m not. ❞ kyler responds coldly, all snark & no brains to the obvious change in you. you predict the first punch before his brain can tell his body what to do. he swings a punch up at your jaw easily, but you very smoothly react, grabbing his hand in your fist before the punch can connect, squeezing his hand so hard that you hear every single knuckle in his hand pop. it’s an impossibly fast, one that’s pure instinct. surprise flashes across kyler’s face, & the other cobra kai’s faces turn from taunting to surprised, alarmed or fearful. you can sense the fear coming off their entire bodies in waves. kyler is about to pull his hand back, but you hold fast. then, you sharply twist his hand without much force on your end at an awkward angle. the sound of a single but vital bone in his wrist dislocating echoes sharply across the dead empty street, & kyler screams in pain. ciro’s nose scrunches up for a half second. not at the scream, but at the sound of the bone being dislocated.

you drop his hand, then push him backwards, aiming a calculated spinning kick to the side of his head, long before kyler can even defend himself. the kick connects perfectly. kyler’s head snaps to the side, & he stumbles backwards, groaning. big red steps up to fight you next, but you simply punch him in the throat with a fraction of your true strength. the teen collapses onto the ground like a stone into water, gasping horribly for air he can’t get. his entire face goes as red as his hair in a matter of seconds. you didn’t break anything - you merely fractured something, probably important, based on the way he’s wheezing. when the third cobra kai member, alex, rushes forward to fight you, you quickly stop him in his tracks. you grab his arm, another hand reaching across his chest to force him to stop. he does, & you flip him onto his back, barely moving yourself. it’s one fluid motion, so fast that it makes ciro raise an eyebrow.

speaking of ciro, he takes more handfuls of steps backwards, instinctively pushing talia, scarlett & jaime back another step. he hasn’t said anything to you, & neither eldritch makes a move to fight their friend. ciro just quietly watches the fight, which isn’t much of one to begin with. you turn towards kyler & forcefully kick his leg out from under him, watching his knee drop to the ground to break his fall. before he can stand up, you quickly land another spinning kick on the other side of kyler’s head with your right leg. the mortal can’t block or deflect the hit in time, & he crashes to the ground, quickly using his uninjured hand to break his fall. he doesn’t get up again.

the fourth & final student, nick, puts up a smidge more of a fight, but you’re downright terrifying as you block, dodge & counter every hit he tries to throw at you, your miyagi-do training kicking in. a kick is blocked with your leg, a punch deflected with your elbow, causing him to gasp in pain. an attempt to grab you is made, but you side-step out of the way, using your new position to elbow him in the jaw - just to piss him off. he takes a step back to recollect himself, but you reach forward, speed & long limbs always an advantage in a fight like this. you grab the sides of his head before he can react or shake himself out of your grip, yanking his head down while simultaneously bringing your right knee up, kneeing him square in the face. nick collapses into a heap, a hand instinctively covering his nose, which gushes blood. based on the sickening crunch, you broke it. good. you don’t stop there. as nick stumbles back, gasping in pain, you land a single hard kick to his chest. the shorter teen drops to his knees, & you watch him collapse onto his side, clearly in pain.

alex tries to get up again, but a very light, by your standards punch to his torso makes him drop to the ground again. he looks up at you with shock in his eyes, clutching his chest & groaning. he curls up into a ball.

you’re eerily calm as you survey the damage done. you say nothing. only ciro, scarlett, talia & jaime are standing. the teens on the ground are still groaning in pain, clutching their various injuries. big red’s nose is still gushing blood, but your knuckles remain entirely unscathed. kyler tries to stand up, but you kick him once in the back, coldly telling him to stay the fuck away from you & your friends. he groans, weakly cradling his sprained wrist closer to his chest instinctively. his face is twisted in agony. you don’t know if he heard you, but you wouldn’t mind kicking his ass again some time in the future. he’s definitely going to need a hospital, like the others on the ground, but you have no intention to call anyone. he can do that with the good hand he still has.

pathetic.

❝ don’t worry, kyler, ❞ you begin calmly, voice going from dead empty to faux gentle, but you’re unable to hide the disdain you feel for him, the DISAPPOINTMENT for him not putting up more of a fight against you, ❝ you & your buddies will heal in time for the all valley in two months… probably, anyway. but… if you’re up for round fifteen or what-fucking-ever round in the meantime, name your time & place. i’ll be there. oh, & go ahead & tell your friends at cobra kai what i did, too, if you feel like it. but i doubt anyone would believe you. ❞ you add as an afterthought, tone bored.

the tense, shocked silence that falls over the group of teens means nothing to you. you’re not even winded. your heartbeat is steady, & your breathing is normal. it’s like you didn’t just beat up four cobra kai members in record time. as expected, you felt nothing the entire time. you still don’t now.

❝ this isn’t you. ❞ talia breathes. you look up at her, eyes flickering between talia, scarlett, jaime & ciro with complete disinterest. ciro instinctively tenses, but his face is set in a grimace. you shrug you shoulders.

❝ no, it’s not. ❞ you agree with her on that front. your tone remains flat. you push past the four cobra kai members without a second thought or a glance. ciro says nothing, but he’s clearly a little shocked. you raising a hand to harm mortals like this in front of him… it’s terrifying, even if it’s warranted, because kyler started picking on you. although, a thought hits you. your dark brown eyes flicker down towards jaime, holding her gaze unflinchingly. your eyes are startling. there’s nothing there. not an inkling of warmth, or who you were trying to be. the chaotic but good-natured boy is dead. the karate war wounded him, but robby picking cobra kai was the final nail in the coffin for you, it seems like. your eyes are entirely devoid of emotion.

❝ do me a favor, jaime. tell the mighty, untouchable king cobra that if he wants revenge for hospitalizing his new friends, he knows where to fucking find me. ❞ you tell her, the words coated in venom that’s very unlike you. ( the sarcastic bite, however, is. ) with that said, you shove both of your hands into the pockets of your sweatshirt, continuing to walk down the sidewalk, leaving the stunned cobra kai members in the street.

I feel Amanda LaRusso kinda suffers from being in many ways less a fully fleshed out character and more of a plot device whose characterization is based on whatever the needs of the plot are. That would explain a lot of inconsistencies in her characterization like:

Season 1. In 1x02, she lets Sam off lightly for throwing a pool party at their house without permission. If anything, Amanda's more mad at Daniel for him yelling at Sam in front of her friends. Cut to 1x09, where you have Amanda putting Sam on total lockdown and forcing her to ghost her friends over a months old hit and run where Sam wasn't even driving and Johnny was also partly at fault (it would be more sensible for Amanda to not ground Sam without at least letting Sam inform her friends, for her to give Sam a lecture on driver etiquette, and then yell at Johnny for terrorizing her daughter).

Her handling of Tory. You have Amanda go very abruptly from thinking "Tory's a psycho who should be locked up" to "Tory needs our help, my daughter's needs be damned" based solely on a single interaction with Kreese (someone she has no reason to trust) and an anecdote she's not so much as hinted at in the past.

Ditching Daniel like she does in 5x04 is a sensible thing for Amanda to do, considering how many times life-altering and traumatic things happened to their kids because he ignored her warnings and requests and just did whatever he wanted), but I think it's a bit extreme that her last straw would be Daniel picking a fight with Silver. If Amanda's final straw was the house fight, or Daniel flying in the guy who once tried to kill him inviting him to be their house guest while he continues the karate war that has caused their kids a ton of grief, I think no one would question her choice.

Yeah, Amanda in 1x2 and 1x9 reacted very strangely. imo Sam should’ve been grounded for the house party and given a stern talking-to for the car thing (since she wasn’t driving, but she let Yasmine drive—that should’ve been the point of contention, but not worthy of a grounding imo).

Amanda in s4 was definitely confusing. Having her grow to sympathize with Tory is fine—great, even!—but her source of info is John Kreese (instead of someone more credible, like Robby) and it shouldn’t have instantly erased all her anger at Tory. And her asking Sam to forgive Tory completely?? Absolutely tf not.

I mean, I think the point you mention about her in s5 is fitting tbh. We see that Amanda is progressively getting more and more fed up with Daniel throughout the season (especially about the Chozen thing, we can see how that irritated her, but she trusts Daniel).

The last straw could’ve been anything—it’s powerful in a tragic way that it was a time when Daniel was defending Amanda from a perceived slight, but actually it was just Silver toying with him again. The reason Amanda’s trust in Daniel breaks here, instead of anywhere else, has to do with Silver being good at acting innocent, generous, and squeaky-clean.

After the All Valley, Johnny develops a strong fear of failure and becomes overwhelmed with his last experience with Kreese. He was supposed to thank Mr. Miyagi, the person who technically saved his life from the stupid interaction, but instead didn't come to school for the next week. He just ran off like some loser.

Daniel knew something was wrong, and tried to convince himself that he didn't care. He tried to convince himself he didn't care because Johnny's friends were still bullying him & Johnny had bullied him before too, but he soon came to terms that 'caring' for Johnny had a much deeper meaning.
