𝐃𝐈𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐋𝐎’𝐒 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐈𝐍 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐀𝐒 𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐂 𝐀𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐀𝐍 𝐇𝐈𝐌𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐅. you had known him for years now, you met him as teenagers and the friendship never ended since. you knew he was a powerful and influential figure for something, but he never told you exactly what it was. yet, his interactions with you recently had started to be somewhat... peculiar.

one day, as you returned home from work, you found a delicate rose resting on your doorstep. its deep crimson petals seemed to glow in the fading sunlight. puzzled, you picked it up and looked around, but there was no sign of anyone nearby. you dismissed it as a random act of kindness from a secret admirer and brought the rose inside.

the next morning, you awoke to find a small, elegantly wrapped box on your bedroom nightstand. opening it, you discovered a stunning necklace, adorned with a sapphire pendant. the jewelry was exquisite, far beyond anything you would have expected. a note accompanied it, simply saying, "for you." you couldn't help but wonder who could be leaving you these mysterious gifts.

meanwhile, diavolo observed from the shadows, his heart pounding with every small reaction he elicited from you. he couldn't bring himself to confess to you directly; he is inexperienced when it comes to love. instead, he resorted to these silent declarations of affection.

days turned into weeks, and the surprises continued. bouquets of flowers, more jewelry, and even the occasional handwritten note expressing vague sentiments of admiration appeared at your doorstep or on your nightstand. you had a growing suspicion that diavolo was behind these gifts, but he had never shown any romantic interest in you before. he was always so distant, and at times, even brusque when you crossed paths.

you looked at the clock that hung in your office, the time read 20:00…finally.. that means your shift has ended. after all, working for so many hours a week was quite draining. after cleaning up your workspace and clocking out you exit the front entrance. you where feeling stressed from the amount of documents you had just finished, so you decided not to go home just yet, perhaps a peaceful area to clear your mind.

the park… it was quiet during this time of night so it was a perfect place to relax.

as you strolled through the dimly lit park, you bumped into doppio unexpectedly. he was dressed in his usual purple attire, and his expression was soft.

of course, you have talked to him before, but he’s always had some business with his “boss.”

"ah! i’m deeply sorry," he squeaked, his voice quivering as his brown eyes stared into your e/c ones.

you mumbled a quick “it’s fine” and began to walk away when you heard him mutter something under his breath. "you should be more careful, bella." the endearment caught you off guard, but before you could react, he had already disappeared into the shadows.

confused, you couldn't help but wonder if there was more to doppio than what meets the eye.

doppio had been caught following you, but thankfully he brushed it off like it was merely a coincidence he was there. if boss where to find out, he’d be in huge trouble, his orders where strictly to report what you where doing, doppio couldn’t imagine the thought of what would happen to him…

the sound of a phone ringing interrupted his thoughts, doppio had a sudden nervousness flow through his body. this has never happened before, maybe it was the thought of diavolo finding out about the small encounter that happened earlier. but nonetheless, he knew he had to come clean and tell the truth.

diavolo let out a grunt, of course, he knew he couldn’t stay hidden for much longer. besides it wasn’t like you had suspected anything anyways, right?

diavolo sighed…he knows he needs to confess his feelings sooner or later, but the fear of rejection and the weight of his criminal life held him back. he couldn't bear the thought of endangering you or exposing his vulnerabilities. so for now, he will continue to do what he has been previously doing, just a little more…obvious.

diavolo's gifts became more frequent and expensive, and he seemed to be around you more often than before. even if it was just brief encounters where he would say something seemingly harsh, but it was always followed by a hint of concern.

you where quite confused, what was with the sudden kindness? diavolo, your childhood friend, has never shown such appreciation before. did he finally feel the same way?

no. that’s just wishful thinking. come on y/n do you really think that someone as powerful as him could fall in love with you?

yes, it was probably just to show his gratitude for the years of friendship…but his actions lately have said otherwise.

who where you kidding, diavolo was always busy, he would never have time for you let alone love you.

on a saturday evening, you found yourself standing on your balcony, gazing at the city lights below. a soft breeze ruffled your hair as you clutched the sapphire necklace he had given you. you whispered to yourself, "is all of this for me?"

as if on cue, diavolo's voice emerged from the darkness. "yes, it's all for you."

startled, you turned to see him stepping out of the shadows, his long pink hair flowing with every step he took as his intense gaze locked on you. "diavolo, you... you've been leaving me these gifts?"

he nodded, his expression softening just a fraction. "i have been trying to get your attention, trying to show you how much you mean to me."

you were taken aback by his confession, your heart racing. "but why were you always so distant towards me?"

diavolo looked puzzled, his usual stoic facade finally cracking. he swallowed hardly as sweat started to form on his face, this was his chance to tell you everything…

"i’m the boss of passione, involved in countless dangerous dealings. i thought it was best to keep my distance, to protect you from my world. but I cannot hide my feelings any longer."

he took a step closer, his hand reaching out to cup your cheek. "i have fallen in love with you y/n, and for many years i have felt like this and i want you to always be by my side. will you be mine?"

your eyes widened as you realized the depth of his feelings. "yes, diavolo, I will be yours."

you both stared into each others eyes and you occasionally glanced at his lips. diavolo took note of this, so he gently lifted your chin and slowly leaned forward.

as you leaned, lips connecting, you couldn't help but think that beneath his tough exterior, the mafia boss was a man deeply in love, willing to go to great lengths to win your heart. and in that moment, you knew that your life was about to change in ways you could have never imagined.

Listening to Friends at the Table 's Media Club Plus and was ruminating on about how Jack has been picking up on how Hunter X Hunter will very frequently jump into the subjectivity of characters that are not the protagonists. And then it occurred to me that that's actually something that's really common in shonen manga and anime. Like one of the classic overdone jokes about DBZ is about how often they cut away to other characters reacting to Goku, and jokes aside I legitimately think that Dragon Ball and most other simply do not inhabit the subjectivity of the main character very often.

I recently came across the bit from a reader q&a where Eiichiro Oda of One Piece talks about how he always tries to avoid giving Luffy thought bubbles because Luffy "thinks out loud" and "acts before he thinks" so we've got a series we never get the protagonist's internal monologue but we will get internal monologue from antagonists pretty frequently.

Also the villians in op also tend to get a lot more external dialogue in fights than the protagonists, save for Usopp probably.

I think this is tied up with some of the core appeals of the shonen battle genre. A big part of the joy in these series is to be surprised by the protagonist pulling out some impressive feat or new ability or transformation and seeing the previously insurmountable antagonists be as surprised as we the viewers are is hype as hell. I feel like I can think of tons of times in Bleach or Naruto or any of there other dozens of shonen battle anime where we get a lot of cut aways of villains being shocked by protagonistic bullshit. At the same time it's really interesting how often these manga that are not especially morally complex will have the view identify with subjectivity of the bad guy who we want get their asses beat.

I do think Hunter X Hunter is exceptional in how willing it is to launch into long explanations from side characters or narratorial voice. In terms of stuff I've read later Jojo is one of the few things that holds up to HxH in that regard.

Still, it's a super interesting topic and makes me wanna revisit manga and anime I probably haven't thought that deeply about with this framing in mind.

Spending Valentines with JJBA villians!💞

He asked you to be his valentines <3

What had you completely shook cause you never thought of him being kind of into you.

In the morning you and valentine get to have breakfast together half of the food is heart-shaped (how cute..)

After all of that the both of you get dressed and give each other a Valentines gift

He probably bought you lots of expensive things such as dresses/suites, jewellery, flowers etc!

Your gift to him would be chocolate-covered strawberries, a card and ALOT of kisses!

After opening each others gifts you guys decide to go outside and have a cute Lil picnic together with yummy food

Champagne, toast, fruit and just cuddles.

Spending Valentines with Yoshikage Kira!

You had to ask him to be your Valentines..

It took him some time to take it all in and get the fact YOU just asked him to be your Valentine!

To start the morning you guys went to meet up at a cafe had some coffee probably some toast.

You didn't know about this little f3tish of his so you just shrugged it off by thinking he was still tired.

After that, you guys decide to go to Yoshikage's favourite place in Morioh... Behind that one tree!

After the little park walks hangout thing you guys walk to Kira's house !! HOLDING HANDS!!

Whenever you guys made eye contact the both of you would just turn into a blushing mess.

For dinner, Yoshikage Kira cooked for both of you! And dang his cooking was really tasty.

After dinner, the both of you would go to the couch and watch a movie together after a while the both of you just fell asleep on the couch.

Spending Valentines with Dio Brando!

He asked you out for Valentine's day!

Of course, you had to say yes I mean you worked for him + he was pretty.

The both of you started the day with you needing to wake him up

You had prepared breakfast for both of u! <3

Dio would just be flirting with you all the time and telling you how amazing you were at cooking etc.

After breakfast, Dio insists on going to his Library and just reading and having a conversation about each other's hobbies + how both of your weeks had been.

While in the Library Dio just decides to scare you for no reason at all he had to entertain himself somehow and had to get you out of your book

just so he could give you his gift... He decided to buy you a pretty revealing outfit and brought some roses with it!

Before you could give him the gift you got for him he just had to flirt with you for a full-on 10 minutes...

So you got kinda sick of it and just pushed the little box against his head making him just shut it and he just grabbed it out of your hands.

You bought him an emerald heart-shaped ring to match his little accessories and gave him a little kiss on his cheek!

As the night approached Dio made his servants cook both of you dinner!

The cooking of his servants wasn't that tasty it lacked flavour but it was still good!

The day ends with you falling asleep on his chest.

Valentines day with Diavolo!

the day before Valentines day you woke up with a pink package on your nightstand.

Inside the package, there was a note and a black dress/suit.

On the note there stood 'Would you like to be my Valentine? Wear this dress/suit for our upcoming date!- xxx Diavolo'.

You decided to message him that you would love to be his Valentine!

In the morning there wasn't that much happening

You just ate breakfast as always put on some random outfit and decided to go shopping for a gift!

Walking around you had no idea what to give him... It took you 3-5 hours to decide what you were gonna get him!

The first shop you went to was a shop filled with perfumes! Got him a nice smelling perfume.

The second shop you went to was a candy shop! You got him spicy chips + Chocolate hearts.

The third shop was a jewellery shop! you decided to buy him a silver necklace.

When you went to check how late it was your jaw just dropped... You had only...

3 hours to get ready!?

So you rushed back home and you had about 2 and a half hours left.

The night is approaching quicker than you thought...

You wore the black dress/suit topping it with this greyish/black lipstick and a silver necklace with a heart attached to it.

You went outside and saw a black Lambo driving towards your house and stopping in front of you, it drove you to some really expensive looking restaurant.

You were dropped off there and Doppio was there waiting for you! While walking with Doppio to the place Diavolo was waiting you guys had a nice conversation together.

Doppio told you to wait inside the room and then left while waving goodbye after 4-5 minutes Diavolo walked in.

You were a blushing mess~

He was wearing a black suit with a pink/coral coloured tie when he came close to you he kissed you on your hand.

He explained why he chose this Expensive looking restaurant and just continued to talk about how amazing the food here was!

He went to get the dinner and... DAMNN! He wasn't lying about how amazing the food here was! You enjoyed every bite of the food.

After eating you guys decided to give each other's gifts

You gave him everything you bought for him!

the joestars and their friends where such a headache, but you where quite different. oh how much he hated you. you where mearly a pest, an annoying fly that would come back when you would shoo it away, a cockroach that seemed to always live no matter how many times you try to kill it. just what where you doing with his enemies? he almost felt sorry that he will have to kill you as well. dio has felt like this for a long time, until he got the chance to take a good look at you, a certain someone has managed to sneak a picture while you weren’t looking.

you seemed rather pretty a nice figure with beautiful e/c orbs that glistened in the sunlight, your eyes were half lidded as a gentle smile appeared on your face. you seemed to be at peace and just enjoying your surroundings. your skin looked so soft and your h/c hair seemed to be greatly taken care of. dio would be lying if he said you didn’t look gorgeous.

what made you even better was when he heard that you and the joestars managed to defeat some of his servants. it was rather impressive and he wonders what kind of stand you possessed, but he knows it is no match for ‘the world’. the thought of him standing above you while you bled out in front of him was rather….arousing. how interesting, dio has never had thoughts like this before.

a week has passed and these thoughts had only gotten worse. he needed to get rid of them, he needed to do something, he needed you. everytime he saw you whether it be a picture or in the middle of the night, his heart skipped a beat. it was rather obvious dio has fallen in love with you. but this wasn’t your normal kind of love, he was obsessed.

how funny, someone as charming and powerful as him has fallen in love with a mere human as you. of course there where others that where strong too but they where nowhere near him, that’s another reason why he needed you by his side, was to protect you.

usually you would see a car or two pass by, not even a cricket was making a sound. but once again with a fanfic cliche, that was before everything went black.

you woke up feeling dizzy, your vision blurry and your head hurts…almost like something has hit you from there. wait where were you? you looked around only to find that the room was rather dark. the only source of light would be from the candles that hung around the room. you seemed to be lying on a king sized bed, there where even bookshelves around the walls. trying to comprehend what just happened you tried to get up only to be stopped by ankle cuffs.

“ i see that you are finally awake ” a voice says near you.

you looked by the door and see a rather tall man, with beautiful golden hair as his ruby red eyes stared into yours. you wanted to scream.

‘ what was happening? who is he? where is kakyoin and everyone else? ’

you tried to call out your stand only to find yourself being chocked the next second, feeling his long pointy nails gripping your neck.

‘ what the hell? ’ how was he suddenly in front of you?

“ i would normally kill someone such as yourself right now, but i am willing to spare you, so let us make a deal, hmm? ” the man’s smooth silky voice said in your ear.

struggling to breathe you managed to do a slight nod, he smirked in satisfaction and let you go.

“ one of my servants has prepared you new clothes, you will find them on the table stand next to you, i will see you soon love ” and with that he was gone.

many questions popped up in your head. ‘why would he call me love?? what did he know about jotaro? was he a friend of his?’

no that couldn’t be, it’s obvious he’s much more than that. ‘was he actually safe?’ but for now you can only hope that what the man said was true.

minutes turned into hours, hours turned into days, days turned into weeks…just how long have you been here? you often wonder if you will ever escape always hoping that someone would just bust in and help you break free. but you learned that will never happen, being stuck here made you learn a lot of things.

you learned to always obey the man that kept you imprisoned in this mansion, dio. only talk when spoken too, stay by his side at all times unless told not too, be his perfect little pet. you hated being called that, it was like the woman y/n no longer existed and is now an obedient play toy. there where a few times where you almost escaped, so close to reaching that door of freedom but of course vanilla ice was there to stop you.

you screamed and thrashed to get out of his grip, only to be pushed in front of someone. carefully pulling yourself up, you slowly look up…recognizing the shoes of the man who put you here in the first place. dio let out a sigh. after all this time have you not learned anything? did you not see that everything he did was for you?

he was there to protect you and give you all your needs. he spared your life so you didn’t end up like the women he had previously eaten. he wouldn’t dare waste such a beauty like you, there may be times where he needed to give you a little….lesson…but it was out of love. dio excused vanilla ice and you would soon find yourself laying on a bed. no this couldn’t be happening…surely he’s not going to do what you think he is doing, is he?

the closer he got the more you wanted to scream, but you knew better. dio leaned down in front of you slowly rubbing his cold hands against your body, “ you know you really are so beautiful, “ he started, “ you truly are a precious gem, a beauty only one can be described as a goddess…but you know that beauty only lastes for so long, it slowly looses it’s spark, getting old, and eventually dies….you however….”

dio paused as he takes his left hand to reach something , “ i don’t want to ever lose you, you are mine and i wish to spend eternity with my darling. ”

a smile crept up his face as he brought something towards your cheek, but his smile seemed off, before you could say anything you felt immense pain. all you could see was a red liquid and feel the warmness of your blood dripping down your face. was…this…a mask?

he did it…dio finally did what he’s been waiting for, after all this time you would finally be with him forever. tears started to form in your eyes, this couldn’t be happening, this isn’t what you wanted. you wanted to live a normal life and grow old with the ones you loved, not this monster. all your hopes and dreams slowly faded away as you felt your nails grow longer, your skin drained of color and your precious e/c eyes turned a dark red.

you where standing in front of a mirror, the same mirror that you use to get dressed like the many nights before. it was now dinner time, and you would walk with dio to the dining room.

dio hummed in satisfaction, slowly wrapping his arms around your waist. it seemed you two where just standing in silence for a few minutes, just enjoying each other’s presence. before you could break the silence he lays his head on your shoulder.

you tensed up, dio knew you hated responding, this was like a game to him, taunting you knowing you have no choice but to say it back. taking a short breath you once again reply,

dio lifts up his head and turns you around, bringing a finger to your chin as he forces you to look up at him. he stares at you for a moment before slowly closing his eyes and leans in, you know what he wants, this was part of your little routine, so you know you have to do the same. the kiss lasted a little longer than usual, he must be feeling like that tonight, how disgusting.

before things go any farther he stops and suddenly walks away. of course, he didn’t see you as nothing more than a toy, only someone to cure his boredom. or was he simply teasing you knowing you’ll want more later?

you sighed as you look in the mirror once again. taking a good look at yourself, hair nicely done, nails freshly painted, and a beautiful (color) dress that stopped just before your knees…just how dio likes it.

this was your life now, obeying dio and giving him whatever he wishes. he always claims to love you but his definition of love was clearly different than what you know. he was so protective of you, no other man dared to look at you, even if you weren’t with him. if anything was bothering you he would get rid of it within seconds. if you needed anything, you would have it in your room the next day.

a new pair of clothes? already in your closet. need something else to spice up your skin care routine? you’ll find it by the bathroom sink. not feeling like yourself? you will find a plate of your favorite food and a bath that is ready for you. you once asked him if he had anything to do with it, he just let out a “tch” and denied it, it was an obvious lie.

it was strange to say but it was somewhat attractive. where you falling for him? you have to admit dio was not an average looking man. he was very handsome and a body some people would kill for. any woman would be blessed to have a husband like him.
