Day 13! Jomies Headcanons! (I got quite a few!)

Jake:

💛Unironically listens to boy bands.

💛Has Spotify open 24/7. Is always looking for new artists and songs, and probably has over 3000 songs liked.

💛He’ll listen to any song of any genre, but tends to lean more towards alt-rock.

💛Used to listen to Billie Eilish in Middle School.

💛Whenever it’s too quiet, he’ll either hum to himself or make random noises with his mouth.

💛Physically incapable of standing still.

💛Probably ate an eraser as a kid.

💛Does not believe in closets. Keeps his clothes either on the floor or in his chair. (If it’s in his closet he’ll genuinely forget he even owns the item.)

Drew:

🖤Really likes FPS games.

Zoey:

And whenever they were home alone, she wanted to make out with him and stuff, meanwhile, all Drew wanted to do was cuddle and watch stupid videos on his phone with her. 🩷Honestly, their best dates were their at-home ones. Where they’d watch movies together and Zoey would bring some face masks and they’d pamper each other and cuddle and whatnot. (Fun for Zoey and relaxing for Drew.)

🩷And because of their height difference, Zoey would sometimes grab Drew’s collar and pull him down to her level to kiss him. (And this definitely never once flustered Drew.)

🩷Probably knew Drew cared more about Jake than he did her and that pissed her off.

Lia:

💜Big fan of Olivia Rodrigo. (And one time, while her and Drew were waiting for the others after school, she was listening to one of her songs and singing along, and Drew ended up correcting her on a lyric, causing her to realize he ALSO listens to her music, and he was super embarrassed about it afterwards and made her promise not to tell anyone.)

💜So anyways Lia now wants to take Drew to an Olivia Rodrigo concert.

💜She’s also a big fan of Nessa Barrett.

💜Surprisingly really good at singing. She never took lessons or anything, she just sings in the shower a lot.

Hot take: drew and Zoey DO love each other

(or at least have at one point).

Not saying they're not toxic or shallow or that it could've worked but to deny they had feelings for each other just for other ships to seem cooler seems pointless to me

They loved each other, though they are horrible cor each other that doesn't mean they don't care for each other (case in point: drake)

This is not to say drew isn't in love with Jake (I'm a big drew-is-in-love-with-jake-and-the-closet-is-made-of-glass-truther myself) but I don't think drew dated her just for reputation, they both have a messed up way of showing and receiving love (Drew's love language is gift giving, and Zoey might feel loved when given money which is weird af but it makes sense in a way, her getting a sugar daddy could be to get more money but also more love ever since drew might've started acting distant or uncaring towards her or she felt like his love and attention wasn't enough, cuz she seems extreme desperate for respect and attention and stuff like that, given how she usually makes herself to be the center of attention so often and how she tries putting herself above everyone else, meanwhile Drew would pay more attention to jake than her at times lmao, which might've made her angry or jealous or idk. but she craved his gifts, his love at one point.)

Zoey did manipulate and deceive him and he fell for it, RosyClozy at point said "Teeth" (a song by 5 Seconds Of Summer) fit Droey really well , and these are the lyrics

The song seems to be about someone infatuated with their lover, being the only brightness in their life and genuinely caring about them, but being lied to and deceived and ig being afraid of being pushed away

When drew found out zoey cheated on him, he was quite obviously upset, as anyone would be, really. Though you could say that, in a way, he seemed to be more upset about Jake not telling him Zoey cheated on him, than... Zoey cheating on him. Again, the show prioritizes how Drew feels about Jake over how he feels about Zoey, which makes it a bit more complicated to break down the true feelings behind Droey. (Plus, all the other ships have canon origins. Lander - childhood best friends. Jailey - met at freshman year, but Jake turned his back on Hailey in order to fit in w the jomies, causing rivalry and mistrust between the two. Jaisy - met in middle school, where she encouraged Jake's passions. Milliot - milliot spinoff ep1, see for yourself. Etc etc. but droey? We don't know how they met or how they got together. I assume it's gonna be revealed in S2 at one point. And it might be really important.)

At one point he worries about Zoey not asking him to buy her anything one time they went out. This was because that's his way of showing love like I said earlier. He was worried because she, in a way, rejected his love. He was worried she didn't love him anymore.

For what reason? Because he loved her.

Now, why does he act distant or ignorant to her at times? Heck if I know. In ep9 for example he seems more annoyed from her than anything else, really. Maybe he's fallen out of love..maybe he's tried of her. Maybe his love for Jake outweighed his love for Zoey. Maybe he felt like she didn't love him anymore, so he didn't feel like trying to love her either. Maybe something else entirely.

But either way ....

Drew cared about Zoey. End of discussion

Now, what is "the line" that separates romantic and platonic love? I honestly don't know. Was drew in love with her? Was it romantic or platonic? Could he have mistaken his feelings for something else? Idfk. I honestly think romantic attraction makes no bullshit. I always saw it as platonic attraction combined with sexual attraction but apparently that . Is not the case ???? Which makes no sense to me. Can some explain pls lmao

That's not the point. He loved her. Now, the show focuses more on how he loved and how he misses Jake, but it's not like Jake is the only person he loves and cares about.

Now does ZOEY love DREW? that's a separate discussion to have. Throughout the show we don't get too much of Zoey tbh. Or we do, but the fandom doesn't pay enough attention to her like it does to other characters. Which makes sense ig? At first glance she seems like a one sided antagonist that could be described in simple terms like "girlboss", "mean girl" "popular girl" "annoying" "manipulative" and that's it. But upon further speculation I feel like there's more to her. In ep3 when Jake threatens to reveal to Drew that she has been cheating on Drew, that's the first and last time she seems to soften up and seem genuinely afraid or caring. Like yeah, she doesn't want to lose the privilege of having him as her bf, that's what it seems like.. but I also have the feeling she was genuinely afraid of losing him for reasons other than money? Even though we can assume she acts affectionate towards him only to manipulate him, I feel like, again, there's more than we can tell.

I feel like though, it could've been very possible that they wanted love and affection in general, but didn't love each other specifically? But the Teeth song makes me think that's not the case.

My mom also thinks Zoey might have had neglectful parents who mostly showed love to her through gifts and money, so that's why she's constantly seeking partners that give her such things, cause she's used to being loved that way - and being unloved as a child can make you have a messed up idea on what love is (this is the same exact backstory most people believe drew has, and honestly it makes sense for them both)

But yeah.

Me when someone willingly asks me to drop my hyper fixation head-canon list: (im so normal about them i swear 🙏)

Okay so, i’ve found out that despite these being rather new headcanons (made within the last 2 months) they’re rather outdated 😔. I based a lot of them on a story i made for them, which i now see as SUPER ooc, so i’m sharing around 2/3 of my list now, and dropping the other 1/3 when its updated to fit more towards the actual characters, rather than based off my silly little daydreams

General story headcanons:

>They started talking to eachother after school, because sean stayed after school to clean the music room, and drew had detention. They both left around the same time, which meant they bumped into eachother. Drew wasnt too outwardly hostile to sean (considering that sean’s older, and the only music club member he doesn’t actively tease), so sean took some time to question him on stuff. long story short, they had a heart to heart, figured out they didnt hate eachother, drew started staying after school to hang out with him, and they got together after a while (I have a whole ass story but this is a summary of it)

>The relationship is kept rather secret from the music club and the dromies. (Music club because they dont necessarily love drew, and the dromies because they’re little shits and would tease Drew endlessly/pos)

>Sean’s helping drew out on his redemption arc. they talk a lot, sean makes sure he isnt overthinking or blowing situations out of proportion. Drew’s extremely grateful for it, and as a result, is a lot less stressed out. (We love communication and healthy relationships 🙏🤍)

>They bonded a lot over shared home-life issues, specifically with parents and no siblings. Drew and sean both shared their experiences with being the authority family-figure in their friend group (sean being the ‘big brother’ of the music club, and drew being the ‘dad’ of the jomies)

>Drew’s love languages are quality time and giving gifts, while sean’s are quality time and doing acts of service. Safe to say they both love spending time together, and do it often

Random ass headcanons that are canon because i said so/silly:

>Neither of them are big on kissing, not that they’re necessarily against it, but they prefer holding hands, cuddling, or handshakes. They have the most epic handshake ever actually, the most ever one to ever exist and its theirs

>They both love toread e-books, so they tried to do it together one time, but sean takes his time and drew is a speedreader. Safe to say that it was a one time thing

>Drew and sean have a joint minecraft server together, they both live in the same house. Drew does all the fighting, and sean does all the building. Neither of them can do redstone

two ppl asked and i shall deliver!! so have a whole essay about jake-centric drake 👍👍

the natural place to start talking about jake's feelings about drew is near the start of their friendship: the freshman scene in ep9. i think this scene (and ep11) is one of the few points where you can really tell what jake thinks of drew. and to sum it up, he thinks pretty highly of him.

it's never super obvious, but when you think about it, drew really meant so much to jake. because drew was really jake's first friend after middle school, the first person to ever accept him so easily. BUT, he couldn't necessarily tell drew that, bc he'd be forced to open up about his past and his passion for music (which is like. the one thing he doesn't want to do)

and imo, jake caring about drew (and henriam ofc but this ain't abt them) and genuinely wanting to be friends is sort of... integral to who he is as a character, in a way. jake changed himself to keep drew, bc he cared about what drew thought of him. whether or not he was right, jake assumed that drew would bully him/drop him if he ever found out that he liked music. jake didn't wanna lose drew, so he kept quiet and lied. it obviously wasn't RIGHT, but still, it's what he does.

once he got closer to the music club, things got way more complicated though, because jake's lies became more than just lies of omission. and eventually, he grew distant towards drew around eps8-10. HOWEVER, i dont think he was really aware that he was doing it, or that he was inherently being an asshole/bad friend on purpose???

i think that's proven in the drake fight. like, jake lied to protect his friendship with drew, but it obviously backfired on him in the long run ("how am i supposed to know anything about your passion when you don't tell me anything anymore!?"). so jake only actually realised his mistakes, especially how badly he treated drew in the past month of canon, when they were thrown in his face by DREW HIMSELF.

and you see jake himself be surprised before quickly cracking, because he realised that drew was right. he has been lying for years. and it's sorta important to think abt the words here. "if you care so much about your friends, jake, why don't you spit out the truth already?!" ...quickly followed by jake spitting out the truth. not only did (and probably still does) jake care about drew, but he also considered them friends! WHICH ALSO EXPLAINS "nice to know we were never really friends." "that's not...! drew..."

jake trying to defend himself shows that even after everything, he still viewed drew as a friend, and wanted drew to hear him out and stay in his life. like, idk, after he came clean, jake still cared about what drew thought, and hoped that he'd want to still be his friend too.

i talked abt this in my last essay, but jake was so broken up after the fight. sure, it looked like he'd moved on, but the way he thought he saw the jomies at the competition + the right now mep part just kinda proved that he hadn't. and idk, i can only imagine that it hurts - losing your first friend, and only having yourself to blame because you lied to his face in an attempt to keep him.

LMAO SO IDK i think jake sort of did value drew as a friend, and that maybe, just maybe, drake is not as unrequited as people think?? imo their issue wasn't really that it was one-sided, but bc they never told eachother how much they valued eachother (for whatever reason)

We all know that Drew and Daisy are generally regarded as polar opposites. In almost everyway personality wise. They are so different in that regard, that it's hard to see past.

Daisy is outwardly sweet, and caring. She'd never bully anyone, and until you get to know her it seems like she couldn't hurt a fly. She's extroverted, and soft around the edges. She's well known for just generally being kind.

Drew is the complete opposite. He's cruel, constantly saying thing he knows will cut deep to others. He's quiet, always having a stoic expression on his face. Or his signature death glare when he's mad. He's known for being a bully, and putting others down constantly.

Their differences are even visually represented in their color palette. Daisy with bright, pastel colors. The white in her hair, and the blues of her outfit. White in the innocent looking ruffles in her clothes as as well, and her bright blue or gray eyes. Where as Drew has a much darker color scheme. Dark purple/magenta hair. A black hoodie, dark pants and dark shoes. Brown eyes.

Daisy looks the innocent, angelic child. Where Drew gives Angsty, post emo phase, teenager.

The ultimate good in the series versus the ultimate bad. Darkness versus light, good versus evil. Characters who are seemingly the anti-thesis of each other.

Still despite this, they actually do have quite a few parallels to each other.

For one, they're both fiercely protective and loyal to those they care about.

We see this in Drew during the Jomies flashback sequence. They're all standing in the hall and one of Jakes former bullies walks up and starts to try and lay into him. He outwardly declares Jake a loser. Makes it known he wasn't exactly well liked.

And instead of abandoning him, Drew sticks up for him. This kid who we can assume he's only known at most a couple of weeks. Yet Drew had already grown fond of Jake, attached. So despite learning that Jake was considered a loser in Middle school, he stands up for him. Despite probably knowing Jake is someone he would've picked on, he turns on Jakes bullies.

Daisy actually gets a similar-ish scene in her own flashback sequence.

In that sequence we see her walking up to a lonely and sad Jake, sitting on the steps of the school by himself. She returns his notebook she found trashed, declaring his bullies to be the truly lame ones, and calling him cool. Despite just meeting him, despite hardly knowing him.

We also see her fight to help him. Going to Sean, learning about what occurred with the Music Club. We see her fired up, almost angry. She tells Jake he has to fight for what he wants.

In these instances, both characters are proving their loyalty to Jake, and their protectiveness over him. As well as their willingness to help him in situations were he cannot seemingly help himself.

They also parallel each other in terms of homelife.

I've heard from people that Rosy has confirmed that Drew does not have the best homelife. But just in case this is un true, I always put this disclaimer in here, that it's only what I've heard. So take it with a grain of salt. Regardless it serves me well here, so in case it is true I'm adding it. Even if its not that boy reeks of daddy issues, so I don't feel bad making assumptions or inferences.

Daisy, in show, also has a turbulent homelife. Talking about how she feels overwhelmed and pressured by her moms to overachieve and be perfect in everything.

They're both also insecure. Really, really insecure. I think where it differs is how they're insecure, and how they cover that insecurity.

Daisy is insecure about being imperfect. She feels like she might never be enough, as we've just established. This, obviously as a result of her bad home life. And to mask this insecurity, she takes on more activates. Does more to prove to the world she is perfect, and enough. Even if it burns her out. Even if she can't ever truly prove it to herself. She also puts on a mask of confidence. We rarely see her break down, just when she's with Sean. but every other time we see her, she seems perfectly self assured. Even though we know that's not the case. Lastly, she tosses herself into fixing other peoples problems. We see her do this with Jake, despite her own struggles we know her to be going through.

Drew is different. Drew is insecure about his relationships with other people, also as a result of his home life. He is scared he'll be abandoned by people, and is worried that if he loses control of those he cares about they'll really leave. To mask this, he projects his issues onto other people, bullying them. We see this when he calls Hailey a control freak, even though we all know he's the true control freak. And we really see him start to lash out as the series progresses, as the possibility of Jake leaving him grows larger and larger in his mind. And we see it in the 'Drake up' fight. When he feels Jake slipping once and for all, he snaps. And it's not pretty. And his defense mechanism in the end of it all, is to call his closest friend a freak, and walk away.

Despite they're different coping, masking methods, they both have insecurities sprouting from their home life.

There's honestly probably more, but I can't really remember them right now. If I do, I'll probably make a separate post.

I do believe though, that by paralleling Daisy to someone like Drew, it benefits her character. And vice versa.

By paralleling a character to someone who is seemingly opposite to them, you can get really interesting interpersonal dynamics. As well as an exploration into, in Daisy's case, darker parts of your character. It also gives her depth as a result.

Really these two just plague my mind. I really would like to see some interactions between them. I think they'd make a great duo, with so much story telling potential. So many routes to take this dynamic.

Something I like about the Jomies/Dromies: The chaos that the just are. The Jomies are chaotic little gremlins, and I love that. They're constantly having a good time together. I think it's cute they have that little friendship.

Something I dislike: THEY'RE BULLIES! Honestly! Look, I feel like in real life, Henry would be the one getting bullied cause he's a weeb, but that's not what's in the show. They hurt people! The club, poor Elliot, there's probably more! Look, I like to watch them cause they are interesting, but sometimes it feels like people ignore the fact that these guys are bullies.

Not even gonna anon for this cause I know that people agreed with me- @confession 709, YES. This! I’m the anon who originally said they were immature, And you put it perfectly. I’ll try not to repeat anything you said cause you put it perfectly, so I’ll do my best to add onto it

I think the only reason they were popular outside of the storyline was for the plot, rosy just needed some popular kids to make the story go forward.

In the story line, I think the only reason that they’re popular is

A. Because of drew being rich (As much as I hate it, Yeah, It does happen a lot. People can have the shittiest personally, but a tad bit more money than everyone else can do wonders. Not just because of gold diggers, but because theres a lot more opportunities for them to do things, go places, and do activities that allow them to socialize and connect with people earlier, which leads to them having a lot of friends and becoming popular)

B. Because they know other popular people (They atleast had some connection to daisy, considering jake could talk to her and they were somewhat friends, even in the early episodes. Also, Zoey definitely fits the popular girl status, So she and lia and the other girl (i forget her name all the time 😭) are probably also helping to carry along the jomies)

C. Luck of the draw. A lot of the times, the popular people are just the people who managed to talk to a lot of people when they were younger and kept a good reputation, and only the really social people tend to stay ontop (which is why I’m convinced all of them, except jake, are extremely extroverted) of the popularity chain

D. This isnt really canon, but I also feel like they’re probably more infamous than famous. So far, most of the cast we’ve seen either hates the jomies, or tolerates them. Especially when they can pick on people without worrying about their reputation

These are mostly my personal opinions, but I 100% agree with your point, They would NOT be popular in real life based on personality alone, I think they were only ever decided to be popular to progress the story (yknow, give jake a reason to stick by em for protection and a group to bully the music freaks)

And the rest was history

Every memory from last night blurred together, hugging my brother, meeting new teammates, partying harder than I ever have before. 

But one moment stood out

Meeting him. 

Obviously she has seen him before. Him and Jamie were friends when they were younger. But never like this, never had more than a hello, never felt his hands around her waist, never got to put her hands in this hair. As soon as she did, she knew it would change her life forever. 

But you could imagine her surprise when she woke up in his hotel room, wrapped in his arms, breathing in his scent, basking in him. 

“G’morning princess,” 

“Good morning,”

“How long’ve you been staring at me,” 

Her face flushed with embarrassment

“Oh, I don't mind, stare as much as you want to,”

And she did. She stared a lot. She knew, of course she knew, that doing this with a future teammate was a terrible idea. She knew, but did she care. Absolutely not. If it meant she got to have more moments like this with Wyatt, it was all worth it.

"hey princess, we should probably get up," he gently roller her away, "your brother'll probably call soon."

groaning, she slowly sat up.

he smiled at her, that gorgeous smile, that smile that she saw for the first time in a long time last night but had already found a way into her heart, that smile that was beginning to light up her world.

she saw a name flash across her phone screen on the other side of the room.

"you hand me my phone?"

"mhm," he unplugged the phone and tossed it to her.

INCOMING CALL PAJAMAS

"pajamas?" his beautiful face contorted into confusion.

"ya'know, Jamie to Jomies, Jomies to Pajamas," she smiled wide and answered the incoming call.

She was met with Jamie's tired voice

"you want breakfast"

"yeah"

"meet me at the starbucks down the street"

"sure"

"k, z'll be there to"

"cool"

"k"

"k"

and the call was ended

"well, i guess i'll see you back in Dallas," she frowned

"yeah, Dallas,"

"oh can i get your number?" his eyes full of hope.

She passed her phone over to him. He took it with a wide smile, clicked a few buttons and passed it back.

and at that moment she realized that she did have to say goodbye because that's not what this was. this wasn't a goodbye, an i hope i see you again. It was a promise.

Day 6: Favorite Background Character!

I don’t even know if she counts as a background character, but I don’t care. I want to talk about her.

Honestly, this all started with my Drake fic titled Hamburger. (Blame @ratkingnezu for the name.) She played an EXTREMELY minor role in that story, but God I ended up coming up with so many headcanons for this lady it’s so insane.

I don’t usually get super attached to characters with no dialogue or screen time but Jake’s mom means so much to me I just-

I know she’d be the most caring person ever. I know she’d work her ass off to support her two boys, and I know she’d down lay her life for them without a second thought. I know she’s tired 24/7 but puts on a brave face to support her children. And I know she practically adopted the Jomies and treats them like they were her own children. (She probably doesn’t know about all the bullying though because if she did there’d be an onslaught of slippers being pelted at them.)

And holy shit I just keep finding myself thinking about her and Drew specifically, like how Drew would probably be pretty quiet around her because that’s how he is around his own parents, and how she’s like the only positive parental figure he has since his parents are always gone, and how she genuinely cares about him and how Drew doesn’t know how to handle that and djshwiabakka-

Please this woman needs more appreciation she needs to be in Season 2 and she needs to be very loving and very caring and very sassy or I will cry.

Imagine TMF. But there's also season 2 prom. Jake is recovering and goes with Hailey as "friends". The jomies go there as friends while drew initially refused to do so bc he doesn't feel like doing anything with his life anymore after the drake up. He sees Hailey and Jake flirting or even dancing.. and then angst entails

or, or. Drew and stacy are talking. Drew ends up venting a bit (but not in an emotionally open way, more like "oh yeah Jake? He sucks he ruined my life I hope he does. Zoey too that goddamn snake cheater") and then Stacy says sum crap like "I.. get it. I know what it's like for someone to love you not to love you back" (not in those words bc it doesn't sound realistic whatsoever and she's just a teenager not a character in a wattpad fanfic) and then drew gets quickly defensive and says "are you implying-" in an angry and defensive tone and Stacy is just confused bc she was referring to Zoey cheating on him.

Idk I'm trying to come up with ways for Drew's crush on Jake to be revealed somehow even if it might not happen. Idk anymore? I feel like if one sided drake happens in canon it might be (seen as?) fanservice bc drake is literally one of the most popular hcs/ships while if it DOESNT happen we won't ever find out why it was teased in the first place besides fanservice. Like there are hints? But I'm not sure if there are enough. Idkkk
