i have no idea what this could possibly be. in the description it was called a “big pp grip,” which clarified nothing
it's a workout thing but I'm perplexed by who could have signed it

oh no i wouldn’t recommend this for a beginner. this is from jujimufu’s the groundbreaker and it is targeted and just one day out a four day routine. i am using that program because i am a big dopey powerlifter who wants to be faster and more explosive. for the athlete who:
- is a novice - with nothing but dumbbells - who wants to use them and doesn’t want to try to get into pure calisthenics
i would recommend the dumbbell stopgap routine which just so happens to be the very first exercise program i ever did. keep jogging, but either do it on a separate day to your strength work or after your strength work.

Auric Magic
Anton Channing talks about a personal aura and an earth aura, which I assume may extend to several other auras through space to the so-called 'ultimate reality'. In Buddhism there is discussion of the One Mind, each Mind is connected in whole or part to this One Mind. In Shingon Buddhism they believe the cosmos is the body of a gigantic Buddha, correlating to the theory that our human molecular structures are no different then the cosmos' solar systems except in size.
I think it's rather ridiculous to think of the universe as a big man but the concept of universal consciousness has always intrigued me. Or a better way to word it, the Universe has Consciousness. This is a way to view Reiki in a spiritual sense that relates to Channing's discussion on auric magic.
Reiki is often translated as 'Universal Life Energy'. This gives us a sense of consciousness as the origin story tells how a ball of white light shone down upon Sensei Usui on his 21st day of meditation, and thus Reiki as we know it was born.
Reiki is an energy healing based spiritual practice and a strong aura is essential to its praxis. To solely concentrate on healing seems a bit of a waste as you become a vampire of sorts, eating the life force of the universe (rather then humans). Thus vampirism and Reiki may be seen as opposing forces of auric magic at first sight, but they are quite similar, as Reiki seeks to heal Other and vampirism seeks to heal Self. All energy medicine is essentially auric induced magic.
Chaos Magic Theory recognizes the possible animation in all qualities and quantities; animism of an "off-white" perception. Atavisms and Death Postures are animist sigils of sordid and beautiful probability. The energies of seperation and balance create a unique taste of magical perceptions and conceptual animation of desire.

i’ve been reading a lot of jujimufu’s training routines and i don’t wanna get too big for my britches here because he’s been training a lot longer than i have but i do have more qualifications as a fitness professional than he has and i find that there’s a mix of good ideas and some. i don’t wanna say ‘bad’ but maybe ‘not informed by the current state of research into exercise physiology’. like the groundbreaker feels like a cool program and i‘m excited to really commit to doing the whole thing now that i have the time but it also has some weird ideas like suggesting extremely long rest periods between sets and basically randomising the upper body hypertrophy exercises so that 1 week you end up doing bicep curls as the first fucking exercise of the sesh. nothing that’s bad exactly but it’s definitely stuff that doesn’t seem to be supported by ex phys as i understand it.
coincidentally i was listening to the iron culture podcast last week and dr helms mentioned an ongoing survey where this guy is polling natural bodybuilders and unnatural bodybuilders on their training interventions including supplementation; the naturals tended to use more interventions that reflected the latest trends in scientific research when compared to the pros (e.g. most of the pros didn’t supplement with creatine). this is a reflection of the bodybuilding community being an insular subculture in the fitness world, which also happens to be jujimufu’s community for the most part. also he claims that all of the routines he writes are stuff that he wrote for himself, so maybe he got great results doing this shit but what works for one person isn’t going to work for everyone.
then again my cert iv isn’t in the mail yet so what do i know
