i have this incredibly specific headcanon that aira had a phase where he went super hard into being a trans Woman but detransitioned after like a couple months, and is now gnc.
like not too long after he becomes an idol hes struggling a lot with his blossoming sense of adolescent identity and clear insecurity-complex, and of course he's in Ensemble Square which is full of gay people, and he's online a lot too in queer twitter communities and it kinda all accumulates into him thinking, MAYBE I AM A WOMAN? so he tries it.
but he has this very narrow and specific idea of what it means to Be Transgender, and to Be a Transwoman by extension, so he just throws himself in the deep end and goes full social & clothing transition immediately. tatsumi and mayoi are supportive (tatsumi is an Ally and mayoi is genderqueer in some form) and this is probably hiiro's first introduction to it but he doesnt care either and is enthusiastically supportive. pretty much everyone he knows is on board with it (except subaru and hokuto are weird about it probably but who cares about them). the Pretty 5 are overjoyed and help by taking him shopping, Arashi especially.
but while aira has an initial euphoric burst of freedom by doing this he very quickly feels very WRONG. but hes fucking committed to it now and like he knows hes not a dude, right?, and he doesnt want to be NonBinary (which is a single third gender identity and not an umbrella term at all, as everyone knows /s). and like, he does like wearing skirts sometimes, and long socks are cute. and he was already kinda feminine, he is ALKALOID's Cute One. so he's probably just not feeling anything at all and he isn't going to address it.
but arashi can fucking tell something is off and tries talking to him. he deflects and denies everything and at someone else bringing it up he only doubles down.
he is wearing FEMALE MAKEUP now! he is looking at tutorials on youtube on how to apply makeup just-so, so he can look like the Cis-Like and Conforming Trans Woman he is. and he is OWNING IT, he is a Girlboss and is now making Activist Twitter Posts talking about his transfem (because that isn't its own thing, either, it's just a synonym for trans Woman! also /s) experience which he is now suddenly an expert on.
and he is fucking miserable just having trapped himself into another stupid binary and now eichi is accounting for this in StarPro's marketing or whatever and now all of ALKALOID's fans are getting it into their heads about being special trans allies and all these things are happening and and and and.
mika tentatively comes up to him one day. he says that hes too nervous to go to pretty 5 or arashi about it, as irrational as it is considering it's fucking arashi, but he just wants aira's help to like, try on some skirts or something like he sees aira doing. no strings attached it doesnt mean anything, just to try.
aira is trying not to have a meltdown in the store while he waits for mika in the changing room. writing twitter posts with hands sweatier than they are after a live is one thing but having to physically be there and act as this ideal image of THE Trans Woman feels like he's standing there waiting for an axe to swing at his fucking head and that it's going to happen any second now. he gets these chills all down his back like some creepypasta character is about to get him. (he's still scared of the creepypastas).
mika says that he thinks the skirt is cute on him, but that he doesn't think he likes it. he says he doesn't know. he says that he doesn't like how it impedes on his masculinity.
"isn't that the point, though? you wanted to be a girl?" aira asks, hair actually wet with how much he's sweating.
"no... nyaghhhg, i don't wanna be a girl. i didn't think just putting it on would make me one, but if it does then i don't wanna wear it anymore."
aira thinks that is a weird fucking thing to say because of course if you're trying on skirts and trying to be feminine it means you're trying to be a transgirl, and he also thinks that if he has to hear mika talk for a second longer he's going to explode from fucking anger. he doesn't think to question why he's so angry, but he says something snappy at mika and it makes mika give up so it all works out and he can go home.
hiiro can tell aira isn't doing well but hiiro can go fuck himself for all aira cares. aira can't even practice anymore, he's just getting angrier and angrier with each day.
eventually he tears off all his clothes in a rage and throws out all his makeup, even the ones he'd been using before his transition. rei comes into their dorm and is alarmed to find aira burning a pile of clothes in the middle of the room. he's attempted to protect the carpet by putting it on top of cardboard. rei has to use the fire extinguisher.
after aira's calmed down a bit rei laughs out of nowhere. aira asks him what. rei says that he thinks aira is the first amab trans guy he's met. aira says he's had enough of all these fucking labels. rei asks if he wants him to inform eichi for him, in regards to the marketing. aira says yeah, thank you...
with touch of feather, aira grows more comfortable in his own skin.
sometime later, mika nervously announces to the pretty 5 that he's genderqueer. arashi helps him come out, and the rest express their support. tori says welcome to the club. (aira wonders how he didn't already know this about tori.)
"in what way?" aira asks mika after congratulating him.
"errr..." mika looks confused for a moment before realisation dawns on his face. "oh. nah, just genderqueer. i don't like all those expectations 'n all that. i just wanna do whatever feels right. that's what humans are, ain't it? just a lotta nonsense feelings."
"oh," says aira.
in retrospect, aira supposes that arashi isn't completely gender conforming and hyper-feminine either. and later, after he and hiiro get together (finally), he asks hiiro if he was still interested in him while he was trans. hiiro says yeah, he doesn't see why that would affect it, and really he was worried about him more than anything else. before aira can make some inquiry about his hometown, hiiro continues that he's been talking a lot to the other idols, so he knows a bit about the city's queer labels (and the variance & nuance in identity) now, and that he's bisexual --- well, he doesn't really like calling himself the labels very much, but that it's the best way to communicate it. aira says huh. he wasn't really expecting to hear that from him.
i think after all that aira would be comfortable just being gnc occasionally, and not worry too hard about being a Boy or a Girl.

Re: Hypertagging characters/ships for triggers, yeah as someone whos insane ass has a very serious trigger for a specific fictional character -particularly if they are portrayed in a positive light- I just Do Not Read Fic in that fandom by and large and blacklist it pretty hard.
It sucks I had to divorce myself from the fandom because I LIKED the earlier seasons and sometimes the fic was cute and good, but I simply cannot reasonably ask anyone to tag every mention of that character so I blacklist it all.
Its a me issue, NOT a them issue, so its my job to manage it and actually put effort into that.
That means blacklisting the show on every platform that is possible that I use, not following people who are likely to post that character, not consuming the new canon content of the show in case I get jumpscared with the character, and only ever intentionally looking for content if im in the right frame of mind to be able to stand simply seeing the name somewhere while I control+f a fic to see if they show up. I even sometimes ask friends to prescreen fics sometimes if I REALLY want to read something.
I make my own content if I want to engage with that media and I avoid the fandom. Its... I wont say its easy because it really sucks actually, but the world cannot and should not cater to me in that way. Its a competing access need and unreasonable to ask.
Its reasonable to ask a friend to warn/not deliberately show me that character- not NOT reasonable to ask a rando to do that.
Id even try to desensitize the trigger if I was in a good place for doing it but I am the wrong kind of insane to be doing that any time soon lol. Trauma work lays you right out.
To people wondering how anyone could be so fragile as to need something like that tagged; PTSD and other mental illnesses that cause serious triggers often latch onto innocuous things. Do you think I want to have such a 'cringe' trigger that causes me to [redacted] at best and have a dissociative panic attack-flashback combo AND [redacted] at worse? No its dumb as hell and I hate that there is very little to do to suppress it. Does that make the trigger go away? Also no. Its not like this is just me not liking or being uncomfortable with the character, this is an involuntary serious-hazard-to-health negative reaction I shant detail that sucks ass.
Yes us crazies do deserve to participate in fandom spaces too, we arent too broken to be barred from playing with everyone else- we just have to understand where the reasonable line is on accommodations for tagging, understand that competing access needs are a thing, and do the rest of the work ourselves.
Its not perfect but its the most good for the most people.
Id invite anyone who has a character/ship/etc trigger to seriously just blacklist the media and do what I do or even be more strict about it. You will feel so much better and more stable im not kidding. It sucks to lose a beloved fandom but you will feel so much better.
For everyone else- dont feel you need to tag every last mention on something. If you really want to be trigger friendly for some reason, you can put in the chapter notes all the minor mentions of stuff or w/e. Please Do Not put it in the proper tags.
--
Sadly, "dumb as hell" is a pretty default setting for triggers. If only brains were logical and behaved themselves! But one has to work with what one's got.

so i just came across your post about not taking heist movies seriously since getting a job as a security guard, and the timestamp isnt loading so i have no idea how long ago it was and im sure you've been asked this before so sorry in advance but. im curious. why would bribing a security guard definitely not work?
That post was a very long time ago lol. It's interesting to look back on now that I don't work as a security guard anymore. I miss the job very much, but unfortunately all the companies in my area were bought out by Allied Universal, which is a bad company that treats its employees badly and offers poor security services to boot, so it's not a job that's available to me anymore.
The thing about being a security guard is it's literally the easiest job in the world. The entire job is: show up, wear a uniform, be awake. Occasionally open a door. (One or more of these items may be optional, depending on the specific job.) And for introverts and young professionals who get into it out of retail, it's heaven because you don't generally have to talk to people unless you have specific tangible business with them. And you get yelled at a lot less than in retail. And when you do get yelled at the correct response is not to immediately roll over like in retail but to stand your ground and calmly make them understand that they're not helping their case (which is AMAZING for your mental health). It's also something you can basically stay in forever. Many of the people I worked with were older, in their 60s or later, not because they couldn't afford to retire but because they didn't want to give up the structure of having a job. It has few to no physical requirements and the few requirements it does have, like patrolling, are offset by hours of downtime in most shifts.
It pays well, too. I made a comfortable living wage with plenty of money for spending and saving starting, and that was on the lower end of the pay scale; it only goes up from there. In my area basically the only jobs that pay more are things like garbage collector and bartender -- both of whom have a very high barrier of entry and are MUCH harder.
Basically, it's the best job in the world. Not for everyone, but for people who gravitate towards it and tend to stay. If you don't think it's the best job in the world then you think it's the worst job in the world and you'll either leave or get fired before too long.
And if you accept a bribe? For any reason? You're out. You're blacklisted. You'll never work security again. Ever. So somebody offers you $20k. That's a lot of money. That's a pretty hefty amount. But it'll run out eventually. And when it does, how are you gonna get more money? Retail? As if. Bartending? Only if you spent a hefty chunk of that $20k on school. 100k? Not gonna last forever. 500k? Maybe if I had a head for investing but at this point people are gonna start asking where the money came from and presumably you wanted to spend it on something other than moving away and changing your name.
I just. Can't comprehend an amount of money that would make me or anyone with sense give up the ability to have that kind of job. It would have to be enough to live comfortably for the rest of your life without working, at a very high standard of living. Plus enough to cover legal fees, because accepting the bribe would definitely get you sued and quite possibly arrested. Somewhere in the multiple millions I would assume. And if you have that much money to spend on bribing a security guard then there are probably cheaper ways to do whatever you're after.
(Maybe if you were lucky you could find a security guard in like crippling medical debt or something but to be quite honest I wouldn't accept a bribe from a stranger who knew that about me either so you would legitimately just have to get lucky. And once again, if you have that much money you presumably have better things to be doing than bribing security guards.)

It's weird that the r/Deltarune mods freaked out over Susie in a bikini considering they made a post titled "Artists, suggestive content, and witchhunting." stating that somewhat suggestive art was allowed. It even told users not to harass artists and have respect. They should practice what they preach.
Oh wow, second ask about this. Dunno if it's from the same person as the last one, but yeah. Gotta love the turnaround and hypocrisy. Case in point:
Tumblr media
A good art post got marked NSFW because of the artist's history which was completely unrelated nor mentioned (sound familiar?). Later, the moderator locked the comment thread and edited the comment to add on; "Half the comments on this post are about her legs, breasts, or OP's post history. If that's the only thing people can manage to note about the artwork then yes it should be marked NSFW." Wow, when you encourage an immature and childish community to fester for months on end, they act immature and childish?? Who would've guessed???
Also, gotta love the manual removal of mentions of my name when people purposefully mistype it to get around the automatic blacklisting hiding comments with that specific series of letters, plus them just removing mentions of that whole mess. Points for the consistency of doing this for months, now. Lol.
Tumblr media
As always, I will never endorse or encourage harassment of people directly; I will not tolerate anyone just bullying or messaging the moderators with pure toxicity. I want to be clear that it has never been my intention to outright target the moderation team nor their personal lives, and that any grievances with them should only reflect their actions. At the same time, I do encourage accountability and sensibility on so significant a forum of Deltarune discourse, and the egregious censorship has gotten completely out of control. I normally wouldn't bother with making yet another post like this if I didn't see this routine mistreatment of artists with such frequency; this is not the first time this has happened and I doubt it will be the last.

Here’s the thing about Meg and the allegations. So like as her lawyer pointed out, this person didn’t ever file any harassment complaints either to Megan or anyone else. Now you can argue “who would he complain to” but Meg had been managed by Roc nation since 2019. Even before she blew up with Savage. So like he could have complained to their hr so there was at least a record of it.
But he didn’t. So, seriously, when did Megan get a chance to know she was making him uncomfortable?
Like I feel like ppl need to really realize that celebrities are NOT like us. They may put their pants on one leg at time like us but they don’t live like us. AT ALL. Wild and crazy parties with things we couldn’t even imagine, all types of drugs everywhere, orgies and kinky sex galore: the real lives of the rich and famous would have even the more liberal of us clutching our damn pearls.
Just like with the Lizzo case, everyone is down to party until the party stops. Especially when the party stops because of their own actions (those backup dancers were obviously bad employees who got mad they got fired for not working the way they were supposed to). Then when the party stops, they want to expose the craziness of these celebs lifestyles, KNOWING it’s supposed to be an industry secret. You want to know why a lot of celebs will go quiet or distance themselves from ppl who get these accusations? Because they don’t want the truth of what THEY get up to to also come out as a result of someone else getting outed. Ppl like “weird she told the cameraman not to say anything” like it’s not well known that anyone working with Beyonce on anything has to sign an ironclad nda and speak no evil they see. And the connection plus the money is more than enough to incentivize them to keep their mouths shut.
This guy and those background dancers got good, cushy gigs and fumbled the bag and now have to go this route after trying to extort these women didn’t work. And they both existed in a way where it’d be hard for them to get another similar gig without a good reference. And if they didn’t leave in the best terms, that’s similar to getting blacklisted. And honestly no one will want to work with them after these lawsuits so they have nothing to lose other than time by filing these lawsuits and almost everything to gain if they win or (more likely) settle out of court.
Megan herself is not a business or company, and likely didn’t hire this guy formally. And if she did, he likely knew beforehand (either was told or quickly learned) what all he’d see and be taking pictures of. And especially if he was partying with Megan, he knew what would be going on. He’s a fucking liar.
Also, America is an at-will employment country (outside Montana lol). Meaning an employer can, technically, fire you at any time and that’s their right. But it also means that as a worker, you’re allowed to quit at any time (meaning no employer can force you to stay on once you decide to quit). He wasn’t forced to do anything he didn’t want to do. If he was uncomfortable, he could have filed a complaint with Roc Nation or her old label (considering the legal issues they were having, they would have LOVED to have that to hold over her I’m sure).
He worked for her for like 4 years! When the Tory stans were dragging her, he could have came out with this to bury her. When Nicki was having a meltdown, he could have brought this up. There were so many times where Megan was getting so much hate or dealing with so much shit and he could have given her enemies ammunition then. Why not then? Why now? You spent four years watching her fuck ppl and whatever and you apparently had a huge problem all those years and never said anything?
Megan’s entire persona is she a freak. I’m supposed to believe this photographer, this MAN, got a job following her around taking pictures of her and he was surprised and shocked to see her fucking in front of him? Yeah ok. Like use your brains ppl. What makes more sense: a group of young people excited to travel the world and be as freaky as they want having fun and wild parties that sure get crazy but that’s the point, or this young woman on the come up with no real power or foot in the industry yet hiring a photographer to only professionally take pictures of her in professional settings but she’s so evil and crazy that she couldn’t help but fuck ppl in front of him and viciously harass them.
Just a note too: funny how similar these accusations are to the accusations against Lizzo. The body shaming accusations against both women is definitely a calculated choice to purposely denigrate and undermine these women as they are both known for being body positive.
Also the “hostile” work environment in very non-traditional situations; both cases use situations outside of the work setting to try to argue that the artists created a hostile environment. But like you didn’t have to go to a strip club if you were so against it. You can say “well they had to for work” but no you don’t. There was a kid at my last job who was aggressively against doing anything outside business hours with the company. He went to zero company outings, never went to the holiday party in all his 10+ years of working there, refused to have anyone from the company be a friend on fb or any social media, never went to the company picnic, etc. People didn’t even know if he had siblings or whatever because he was determined to keep work and private life separate. And that wasn’t even close to the reason he got fired lol (he was constantly late/called out all the time so it finally caught up to him lol).
My point is that if these ppl were so against the lifestyle, why do they seem so into it until they get fired/are no longer able to collect a paycheck from these celebs? You on tour, go to your hotel after a performance. No one is forcing you to the strip club. You don’t want to be around someone who drinks a lot and gets freaky when she does? Take another car to where you’re staying and leave her to her antics. There are so many pretty big names on entertainment who don’t party and aren’t on drugs and shit; if they can figure it out, I think these employees can too.
And this to me is the tell tale sign these accusations have no merit. The things they always list sound like things friends do when hanging out. Going to clubs, drinking and making out with people. I’ve been at parties with ppl making out in front of me. I’ve drunkenly made out with a girl while a friend was awkwardly standing off to the side; shit happens when you put a bunch of young people in hot rooms with alcohol.
Like the work environment (for Megan; there are a few claims from the Lizzo case—tho not the ones directed at her but at her company and choreographer—that I do think have merit) claim this guy is trying to make is weird because you first have to establish what was work and what wasn’t. I used to go on outings with my old coworkers outside of work, and I wouldn’t blame my company if one of them did something to offend me or whatever. As a photographer, I would assume you’re taking pictures in very specific circumstances. So if you’re partying outside of work or having lunch outside of work, anything Megan does you claim you don’t like isn’t a work related issue.
Similar to the stripper story from the Lizzo story (also, learning that story supposedly happened at Crazy Horse is WILD for a host of reasons that invalidates the claim even more imo), going out after work isn’t required. And they can say pressured well they want; they’re grown and if Lizzo tried to fire them for not going, THAT would be a major HR violation and terms for a lawsuit right there. It’s so obvious in both cases that these ppl were down to party and got mad when the party stopped. They got a taste of that celeb life and got drunk. They wanted more. They didn’t want to return to their regular lives. So maybe a lawsuit would get some money to keep the party going.
The music industry is particularly shady. More so than the tv/movie industry. And these ppl are barely hiding it these days. The little bit we see we can bet the reality is that to the ♾️ power. And anyone getting into music knows that and has to decide how they want to navigate it. The very nature of these lawsuits and their allegations seem less about someone seeking justice (like we see in cases like, let’s say, the Diddy lawsuits) and more like someone trying to tear down a woman’s reputation.
Because with Diddy and R Kelly and the sort who get called out on these, it’s rarely a shock. Few ppl in general are living entirely separate double lives; that shit would be exhausting. Ppl been knew about Kelly; people been knew about Diddy. The lawsuits and documentaries and shit just exposed what we already knew/suspected. And based on their personalities and personas, there’s no real reason to doubt it.
But with these, notice how the accusations are not just surprising giving the nature, but how they specifically contradict the image the celebrity is portraying. Lizzo doing fat positivity but she’s actually not fat positive to others (despite making a point to hire big dancers but sure). Megan is all positive but she fat shamed me and told me not to eat! She’s so mean! Funny that.
It seems to me that these ppl have a vested interest tearing down these women’s reputation and shaming them. Or, at least, are leveraging their reputations to get some payouts, assuming they’d rather do that then fight this in court.
Also, and idc who hates this, but Johnny Depp, a man with a known and long recorded history of violence and drug and alcohol abuse, was able to convince the world his mostly unknown wife was the one abusing HIM by twisting moments she was trying to defend herself against her. And the world fell for it. Many still believe it because they didn’t do any real research, nor looked at the unsealed records that mostly support what Amber claimed. And it worked because ppl love to hate women and will find any reason too. And people have beef with Megan for unhinged and loser reasons. Meaning they will jump on this to vilify her immediately. And that’s what this asshole was banking on. That’s what all these people are banking on: that our hatred of women will lead to us harassing these women the way the world did Amber and get them to yield.
Johnny Depp started a trend of men (and the gender traitors) filing lawsuits against women to attack their character and force them to do what they want. And the threat is obvious: give me what I want or end up blacklisted, hated, and ostracized like Amber. And because everyone hates women, you idiots will fall for it every time.
Believe women means you believe them even when they’re being accused. Y’all are really not ready for real female solidarity. We’re never making it out the patriarchy.

Those are what will be used mostly commonly but, in general, I will just tag stuff as "[thing]" or, if its a tag that may REALLY upset some people, I will add "cw [thing]" too. Just heard Niall's new single. It's not a bad song, but it's very bland to me. Music by numbers to be played in the background.
I doubt it would ever offend anyone, or cause people to think 'what's this rubbish', but I don't think most people would remember it either.
Will provide an interesting comparison to BTM though, particularly as his team has secured UK radio play for him.
Very curious to see if Niall’s song and his album have legs.
BBC Radio knows the assignment is never to let anyone from 1D compete (even mildly) with Harry Styles, so they’ll control the quantity of Niall’s content accordingly.
Well, tbh everyone knows this assignment, even Niall. He’s not going to overstep his boundaries.
In the old days (2016-17), we used to say that Niall served as the “1D control case.” HSHQ and Sony couldn’t be the bad guys in Louis’, Liam’s, or Zayn’s blacklisting, because look at Niall!
Only one of these guys have ever golfed with the Azoffs lol. Only one of them has been seen with Harry in the wild since 2015. Only one of them has publicly been seen in the VIP section at a Harry concert. Only one is in business with Modest Management.
Niall kissed the right rings, I guess.

Hello again I am back and I have more questions. Sorry in advance for all of my questions.
I was reading your card-
Do you guys accept cross overs?
If so, what if one of the fandoms isn’t on your whitelist or blacklist?
And what if I provide you with character gifs/stims by link in the ask so all you have to do is copy and paste?
Would you be comfortable tagging kin? What about clicker (isn’t necessary though)?
Do you have a limit on how many requests a person can ask? (Like on HazyAltCare a person/Alter-Human can only send in 5 requests within a 24hr period or we, the mods, will get overwhelmed)
Are you ok with at-ing/tagging/pinging blogs?
I appreciate you asking instead of assuming actually, it's very considerate! 😊
1. Crossovers are completely fine, we've posted plenty of that before!
2. For fandoms neither on the whitelist nor blacklist I actually included in that you can still send in requests for unlisted media, it'll just be dealt with case by case. I'm sure to have forgotten something for the whitelist since we have an interest in so many things, or didn't consider something we wouldn't be comfortable doing. So depending on whether the request is approved or disapproved it'll be added to one list or another. So please feel free! Just no offense if we can't do said subject/topic/fandom/etc. :)
3. That would also be case by case, since depending on the person who posted said gif may have a dni we apply to. I'd say your best bet for that to work is just to make sure the op is safe for us, or that it comes from a source not affiliated with the community
4. Kin content is perfectly fine, just be sure to specify it's kin related! As for clicker, do you mean the clickers from the last of us? Because if it isn't in the whitelist then it should be and that's a perfectly acceptable request topic
5. I haven't had to set an exact limit, but that's a good idea I should include in. I'd say no more than 3 requests per person, and that I would probably ask you not send any more until all of them are completed. We get requests here pretty fast as of late so don't be offended if you send in the three and find requests are closed shortly after, it won't be related to anyone who's sent in the limit
6. Tagging is perfectly fine so long as the selected blogs don't mind/approve (I'd hate to be a bother to someone's notifs lol)
Anyway yeah if anyone has any questions about the carrd or our terms please let us know! I had to go back and make it super specific because we kept getting requests for topics that were in our blacklist or some that were just genuinely triggering or not appropriate for this type of acc (imo) so you guys showing you want to get it right means very much to us! I'll probably update the carrd soon to reflect these new questions and answers. But we won't ever bite on this, the worst we'll do is give you an answer you don't prefer 😅

Me getting my self in some where that no Body call me LMAO, Dan in fact is bad as character and has toxic behaviors (honestly just as Spectra but damn like my job is to make fun of Spectra and call him baby girl and Choke memes), the new people in the fandom are not our responsability just as they can consume from any side of the fandom or artist that makes the confort character they love.
After all, Not everyone likes all the characters nor my favorite ship and I can co-exist with the fandom just as everyone else lol
liking a character isn't a problem at all and i get the apprehension someone might feel when they see someone criticizing or poking fun at their favorite. but in this case, with how popular dan seems to be now (he wasn't before? at least from what i can remember) and how dan stans constantly hate on runo and other fem characters...well fuck it i'm posting dan critical shit in the tag lmfao. at least my hate of him is grounded in canon and i can cite instances that annoy me, as well as show how the show and the fandom's misogynistic tendencies come out. can't say the same for some people, but maybe that's just me being mean as anon likes to put it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i do think, at the least, we have the responsibility to tag properly, which was anon's main point. so now i'll be tagging any dan hate as #dan critical so anyone who doesn't want to see dan hate can blacklist that and focus on more positive things if they so please. that doesn't mean that i'm going to stop tagging it with the main bakugan tag though. i'd much rather there be avenues for discussion on dan's character than blind "ooooo he's so good!" and of course i want to share mean jokes because i am unfortunately a little mean and conceited.
also same, LMAO you just gotta live and let live. not everyone's gonna like dan or whatever character/ship, and people should be able to both block that out and bring up the conversation with whoever wants to talk about it. i'll talk about how i both love shun and how much i hate how the fandom talks about and characterizes him. get you a girl (gn) who can do both.

Is the reason Warner Bros is in so much debt is because they're to make their DCEU to compete with MCU? I tried looking up as to why they're in debt, but all they said is "WB is in debt" and that's all. Not really a direct answer...(And I don't care about WB, I'm just pissed that they deleted alot of animated shows from their category...)
I couldn't say why for certain.
(This got way longer than I realized it would be, so full explanation is under the cut.)
There's something to be said about the film and TV industry, where a lot of times studios just are in debt as part of the process of making things, but I doubt that's the case here.
With that in mind, regardless, I do think the superhero movie battles play into that at least to some degree. They chose to try to get in on Marvel's success, but they decided to do it their own way (dark knight and gritty), which could work but maybe not specifically the way they did it. Plus they've had a lot of creative differences and internal difficulties pretty much all along each step of their proces.
Like replacing Zack Snyder and changing up Justice League at literally the very last minute (cgi upper lip Henry Cavill anyone? lol). Not saying the Snyder Cut™️ fixed anything, by any stretch, but the theatrical release of JL was definitely not successful by the metric of superhero movies, so you're not really profiting from your original budget, but then add the additional costs from your decision to reshoot. You're now paying EVERYBODY almost twice as much, only to fail at that.
And yeah, The Batman was good. It was a step in the right direction.
But WB has been making questionable decisions for years now. Starting with firing Johnny Depp. Whether or not you think he was the correct actor for the role, it was his role, and firing him looked extremely bad in light of, well, everything that was revealed. Not to mention that the writing quality of the Fantastic Beasts Franchise was already going downhill, so the third one might have flopped anyways, but now WB are already looking at one guaranteed flop and they come off as the bad guy for blacklisting a DV victim...
But they decide to double down and make it worse for themselves by keeping on Amber Heard after the truth came out that she was in fact the abuser. Despite a multi-million signature petition, the director laughed it off and said they're not going to cave to pressure. He must have forgotten that viewers drive the profits, because those millions of people who signed that petition are people who won't be buying tickets, therefore losing $$$. There's a reason why they keep delaying A2s release. They're waiting to see if public opinion will change so they maybe don't have to edit her out completely just to break even. Spoiler alert: public opinion isn't gonna change. They have one option but they're clearly not interested. Add another to the flop list.
But of course, that's not surprising, given that WB is also still planning to release the Flash movie, despite the fact that around the same time as JD was let go, Ezra Miller was caught on camera choking a fan! But nothing happened this time, no firing, the video just kind of disappeared and the actor promised to eventually make a statement and apology *it never happened). And now Miller is literally a fugitive who kidnapped a child and holed up in a mansion full of drugs and weapons.
And WB is still releasing the movie.
You thought this was over yet? Nope!
On top of all of that, they're canceling the Batgirl movie, which, no matter how atrocious it might have been, is a terrible decision because it's just a loss at that point. They're using it as a tax write off and nothing more.
I'm sure there's more I didn't list but there's are the top examples.
So, for WB debt specifically? I'd say it's the result of a multitude of bad decisions over the course of many years.
Sorry this got so long!

..the problem with insta-dcing was never if the other person has weird out of pocket modifiers? i thought that was everyones stance lol, the problem is for straight cut basic joe The Character no bells or whistles getting disconnected on because it means they arent using the filters explicitly given to them by the site. modifiers you cant filter in or out so it’s a grey area, ‘do what you must’ kind of thing. best case scenario is mxrp implements some way of filtering in/out modifiers (other than the muting phrases function) before they implement an automatic autodc punishment. or maybe just a “did the person who get disconnected on change the default name of this character preset if yes then dont punish” clause in the background of the code or something, idk whatever’s easier
huh? i was making the exact same point as you, i completely agree with all of this lmao. you got my stance mixed up somehow - i was saying that if you complain about someone else's mods but you ran into them more than once, it's your problem because you didn't blacklist/block them the first time you saw the mod. the person who sent in that last ask was taking a weird hardline stance in the other direction saying you can't ever punish for auto dcing because people have weird mods sometimes... which, as you said, isn't what anyone was talking about in the first place

so. taylor's going to reveal the hostage ep donor secret, right?
what really struck me about the hostage ep were the... choices made around mitchell's final words:
Tumblr media
they chose to use this one-off character's final words, his LAST request, to re-assert that he wanted to keep all this a secret, rather than to reinforce how much he was relying on eddie to get his heart to his son in the first place. i think it's an interesting choice, given that the latter would have made this:
Tumblr media
all the more impactful. had mitchell's last words been something along the lines of - "make sure my heart gets to my son", it would have made eddie's determination and desperation in this scene hit a lot harder. instead they chose to reinforce the secrecy aspect instead.
it's an interesting choice, given that we only see this secrecy come up again twice in the rest of the episode. you'd think that, if you wrote a one-off character to die, you'd have the last words he delivers to a recurring protagonist be something that actually has a big impact on that protagonist's actions for the rest of the episode, right? instead we only see it brought up again when eddie's talking to mitchell's ex-wife, and even then, eddie mentioning that mitchell wanted it to be kept a secret is what ends the scene, not allowing us to sit with the implications of that any longer...
...and, it's relevant again for the second and last time, notably, when buck is talking to taylor. taylor asks how the riot started; buck skips the full story and just says the inmate wanted to see his son. it's implied, through buck's half-lie here, that eddie has told buck about mitchell's last words too.
i remember, after the episode aired, wondering what the purpose of this scene was. why show us buck rehashing events that we've already seen to taylor? to show us how good their relationship is? or maybe to show how much taylor cares about him? it felt strange to me, because the former directly contradicts 5x03, when buck comes home to an empty house; and the latter could have been accomplished just from the relieved hug, no conversation about what actually happened necessary.
but if you focus on the fact that buck isn't telling taylor the full story, it becomes clear what this scene is doing: foreshadowing. foreshadowing that taylor will want to dig deeper herself and end up revealing the truth. look at how she reacts when buck tells her mitchell shot himself before he could see his kid:
Tumblr media
she's really upset. we know now that this is partly because of her own father, who's also in prison. but i think that would only strengthen her desire to find out what happened here, especially now that oklahoma was a bust. there may be no truths to be found in oklahoma, but there are here.
so she's going to dig. we know that she's smart, and more than capable of connecting the dots – mitchell taking them to that specific hospital, the commutation, a boy receiving a heart out of nowhere that same night, at that same hospital.
there's no way for taylor to be aware that the son doesn't know who the donor is. and even if she did, we know how she feels about the truth:
Tumblr media
so she's going to write a story on it, damn the emotional consequences. emotional consequences which will, of course, fall on eddie – the person who mitchell's last words were spoken to, the person who resonated with mitchell's desire to protect his son until the end – and in doing so, put eddie and taylor in conflict with one another.
buck's been doing a good job of compartmentalising his life so far. he's, for the most part, kept his life with the 118 (or, specifically, eddie) and his life with taylor separate. this compartmentalisation is even reflected in the visual language of the show in the balcony scene of 5x04, as @bibuckleydiaz pointed out in this great post.
but when taylor's actions have real consequences on eddie, this compartmentalisation is going to fall apart. it's going to force buck to pick sides.
it's also going to expose buck's hypocrisy in this scene:
Tumblr media
because, sure, he knows all of taylor's secrets; but taylor doesn't know all of his. had he just been honest with her after the hostage situation, maybe taylor would have understood and dropped it. and if it's precisely his keeping secrets from her, after an episode all about communicating and being honest, that causes an issue? buck's going to have to reflect on what else he's keeping from her, too.
like the guardianship, perhaps. and maybe that will shed some light on whose side buck is going to end up on.
in conclusion: bucktaylor is bones, ethical conflict truthers rise
