I just realised that on Memory Alpha is a site about the undeveloped ideas for a season 5 for Star Trek: Enterprise and now I'm even more mad, that it never happened. I mean:
Shran. They wanted to put Shran as an advisor permanently on the show. Not only would it finally have been justice for Jeffrey Combs but we would have finally gotten more information about Andorians or Andor which is always nice.
More mirror universe. I mean, come on guys, you can't tell me you wouldn't have loved more of Empress Hoshi Sato!!
T'Pol's father was supposed to make an appearance. And rumor has it that he was supposed to be an undercover romulan spy?! I mean, think of that what you want but it would've been nice to find out new things about her.
Borg Queen Origin Story. Need I say more?
Apparently the producer Manny Coton wanted the Enterprise to visit Denobula! Maybe it's because I love Phlox and think Denobulans are very interesting but I am so mad that they never showed us the planet. Maybe they did it in one of the newer shows I don't know, but Enterprise had a Denobulan as a Character in the main crew. Come on! (Also, it would have maye answered my questions in this post)
The Romulan War. The Romulans were supposed to become the main antagonists in the comming fifth season and the romulan warwould have FINALLY be addressed and shown but NO. They had to cancel the show!!!!
I am so mad right now. I am aware that maybe Enterprise wasn't the best show of Star Trek but it was by far not the worst and deserves more love and attention. No, I will not take criticism on that.

A Whovian Watches Star Trek for the First Time: Part 089 - Phlox, Kindapped!
Before I get into this one, today is the 60th Anniversary of Doctor Who, my first and primary Sci-Fi love. On this day, in 1963, Two school teachers followed a strange Unearthly Child home, and got whisked off through time and Space in a police box by her alien Grandfather, in an adventure that is still going to this day. Happy Birthday, Doctor Who.
Now, back to Star Trek:
Star Trek: Enterprise - Season 4 Episode 15 - Affliction
Tumblr media
We open on a Klingon ship, and it would appear someone is being unlawfully executed. I really like the last time we focussed on the corruption in the Klingon Justice System, so I'm excited to see that we're exploring this again!
After the intro, We're left with the aftermath of Trip's decision to be transferred from the Enterprise to it's sister ship, the Columbia. He's still pretending this isn't about his feelings for T'Pol. Meanwhile on Earth, we get a nice scene of Phlox and Hoshi enjoying eachothers company when they get attacked by some figures in the shadows. Phlox has been Kidnapped!
The Enterprise crew are trying to find Phlox. Malcolm is given a mysterious address to visit by someone unknown while trying to contact starfleet command, and T'Pol is trying to mindmeld with hoshi to figure out what happened while Hoshi was semi-conscious. The mind meld's results show that the attackers speak Rigellian, and by coincidence, a Rigellian ship left earth shortly after the incident occurred, and his heading in a completely different direction that it said it was going in. Reed however apparently has a mystery job to do, under the mystery orders of this mystery man, that will apparently help Phlox, although the details aren't shared with us.
We're then taken to Phlox who is now on board the Klingon ship from the cold open, and is being made to cure a virus that has been spreading through the empire.
Archer and crew are chasing after the freighter, but this new Engineer just isn't cutting it. This Commander Kelby just doesn't have the same response time or Talent as our boy Trip Tucker.
Meanwhile on the Columbia, Trip is settling in fine and has started whipping his new crew into shape. Apparently he's not too torn up by leaving Enterprise, and apparently Columbia's chef is just as good. Also T'Pol's having meditiation dreams connecting to Trip's mind.
When Enterprise reaches the Rigellian Freighter, is has been completely destroyed, and there's no sign of Phlox or any other leads.
Phlox is great in this episode. Seeing his medical ethics put to the test while being forced to work alongside the Brutally Efficient Klingons is great to see. Given the number of episodes left, this is probably the last major Phlox Focus episode, so I'm kinda sad that we're probably not going to see his reconciliation with his eldest son like I wanted to, but this is a great outing for Phlox nonetheless
Malcolm's interactions with Mystery man also keeps getting stranger. Apparently, Malcolm has history with him before even enterprise, and is acting as if he was sent to spy on Star Fleet. It's a really strange and feels like a last minute addition to him, I don't really recall any hints towards Malcolm having other loyalties before this. Either way, Mystery man orders him to lie about the true nature of the Freighter, that is that it was attacked by Klingons.
During this conversation, Enterprise comes under attack, and Malcolm is drawn away before we get any details. Enterprise is boarded by what appear to be Humans in Klingon clothing. The Boarding party disable Enterprise's systems, and get away. Leaving only one behind for Enterprise to question. Apparently, These are klingons.
Meanwhile with Phlox, apparently the Kilingon Virus contains Augment Human DNA, from Soong's Augments specifically, and the virus was created in an attempt to create Human Augments, which explains why the Boarding Party looked human.
Archer however figures out that Malcolm has been lying about the data from the Freighter's wreckage, and is taken to the brig. Keeping Mystery Man a secret is really tearing Malcolm up, I want answers over what this was about.
Columbia Launches for it's first time, meanwhile Enterprise tries to go to warp itself, and Archer finds that if Enterprise stops, the reactor will explode, and the only way to prevent that is keep going to reduce risk of the reactor going Critical. It's like that time the Flash's heart was hooked up to a bomb that would detonate if he stopped. Enterprise's systems have also been hacked by a Klingon computer virus.
I really enjoyed this episode, it's character work, especially around Phlox and Malcolm was great, although I do wish Malcolm's other loyalties were something that was foreshadowed before now. I'm excited to find out Exactly who Malcolm is working for, and where all of this is heading!

last night I read the suicide note of a trans girl I didn’t know named Eden.
this is for her (and maybe for us, too)
A Garden For Eden
on the other side, I imagine a garden.
it is nurtured by warm rains, gentle winds, and the sun.
here there are endless sunrises and endless sunsets, gifts from the heavens and from mother nature herself.
she longs to hold you and so she does, kissing your tears away with warm rays of sunlight, tucking you in under the softness and protection of the moon.
here she nurtures you as she would nurture the garden,
showers you in cherry blossom petals, perfumes you with the smell of flowers, and views you in reverence.
you are, after all, one of her most divine creations.
she honors you with aloe, amasses bouquets of anemone, crowns you with angrec.
she dots the night sky with aster, wakes you with bellflowers, builds you a bed of calla lilies. she calls you her Cinquefoil, promises you coltsfoot, dons you in dahlias.
she grows you gladiolus and heliotropes.
breaks fast with jasmines.
welcomes you with mayflower and marigold.
she grows you meadowsweet and lays mignonette at your feet. olive and phlox guide you through endless fields of dewy grass, plumeria and primrose caress your knees,
poppy lulls you to sleep.
she wakes you with rosemary, sprouts you rows and rows of red spider lily, springs sweetbrier.
she fastens you a cloak of vervain and whispers warm words onto winged seeds. she grows zinnia. lots and lots of zinnia.
in the middle of the garden stands an altar.
it is home to acanthus, astragalus, azalea. to baby breaths and balm, pink carnation, and white clover. it is cradled by cypress and purple hyacinth, birth’s pastures of pansy and rue.
the altar is a testimony to grief.
mother nature promises you no more sorrow. here she will love you with all of her existence.
you, her daughter, born of the divine feminine and from her very own womb.
she will honor you with everlasting fields of flowers. she will grow you a garden.
she will call you Eden.
in this garden for Eden, you will be free.
someday we will be too.
I used this list of plant and flower symbolism, the meanings of each flower are below
aloe - grief | anemone - undying love, eternal peace | angrec - royalty | aster - symbol of love, name comes from the greek word for star | bellflowers - unwavering love | calla lily - magnificence and beauty | cinquefoil - beloved daughter | coltsfoot - justice shall be done | dahlia - elegance and dignity | gladiolus - strength of character, honor, conviction | heliotropes - devotion | jasmine - unconditional and eternal love | mayflower - welcome | marigold - pain and grief | meadowsweet - peace, protection | mignonette - worth | olive - peace | phlox - harmony | plumeria - new beginnings | primrose - eternal love | poppy - eternal sleep | rosemary - remembrance | red spider lily - death and the cycle of rebirth | sweetbrier - simplicity, a wound to heal | vervain - protection against evil | winged seeds - messengers | zinnia - thinking of you | acanthus - art, immortality, rebirth | astragalus - your presence softens my pain | azalea - take care, Chinese symbols of womanhood | baby breaths - innocence, purity of heart | balm - sympathy | pink carnation - a mother’s love | white clover - ‘I promise’ | cypress - death, mourning, sorrow | purple hyacinth - sorrow, please forgive me | pansy - remembrance, you occupy my thoughts | rue - sorrow

Star Trek Enterprise s2e22 Cogenitor
Trip-focused episode about the difficulties and moral dilemmas of first contact.
Enterprise is studying a hypergiant star and they encounter an alien exploratory ship. They meet Vissians, who has been a space faring species for a 1000 years and have better technology. They're also peacefully inclined.
Vissian captain takes Archer out in their reinforced shuttle to dive into the star. They talk about books Hoshi sent Vissians and Archer is unable to recommend anything. This is so embarrassing and also the creepy realization that the Enterprise crew is really a bunch of people who at best would read a technical manual and T'Pol is the only true intellectual on board and she's not even human.
Reed has a bit of a fling with one of the Vissians and shows her his cannons.
The main story is about Trip investigating Vissians as a species with 3 genders. He notices the person of the third gender which is called cogenitor. He thinks "it" is treated like an object and doesn't have a name or education. "Its" only duty is to assist couples in having children. Why would nature create such an inefficient reproduction system in a species???
Phlox explains that cogenitor is needed because it provides an enzyme that is needed for reproduction to succeed. But if the species is so evolved, why didn't they synthesize the enzyme and got rid of the need for cogenitors? It would benefit their society more than this system of every couple waiting for an assignment. Cogenitors are only 3% of their population. Is this a way of population control? Is it used by ruling classes to establish power over everyone? Who knows.
Trip finds out cogenitor has the same intellectual abilities as the other sexes so he teaches "it" to read, then sneaks "it" to Enterprise, shows movies and music and in general wants "it" to become a person with dreams and ambitions.
Cogenitor wants asylum on Enteprise but Vissians want "it" back. Archer has to make the call. He decides not to completely mess up first contact with a peaceful species and give back their only means of reproduction. Even he sees that interfering with minorities oppressed by their government for political reasons and out of hate is different than standing against how others reproduce. I feel Archer's decision was right and the episode doesn't give us enough information about Vissians and how their culture and biology works. The main reasoning for being against them is that "cogenitor is sad".
Trip's sense of justice and wanting to advocate for "human rights" for cogenitor are understandable but it's clear that he went about it the wrong way after we learn that cogenitor committed suicide. Instead of helping, his actions gave "it" unreasonable hope which he couldn't deliver. It's clearly the case of "the road to hell is paved with good intentions".
I like that in this episode actions have consequences and the way Archer gave Trip a dressing down was very poignant. They need to learn to think before taking action.

... to sit in it, on the rickety metal seat, with the airships of the big bumblebees bursting into digitalis, lupins, summer phlox, and the smell fo the sea making his senses fizz, and the sweet composure put on everything by the light – what simple joy. for some reason, he thought, the human person was designed for this: the summer's justice, the planets mercy. there couldn't be anything greater.

“You fainted…straight into my arms. You know, if you wanted my attention you didn’t have to go to such extremes.” with Malcolm Reed, pretty please? 🥺❤️
YES. More than happy to write for the pretty British mans!! ❤️ Based off a starter post which can be found here. This drabble is cross-posted to AO3 here.
16. “You fainted…straight into my arms. You know, if you wanted my attention you didn’t have to go to such extremes.” + Malcolm Reed
If anyone wants to be added to my taglist or wants to submit a fic request, my ask box is always open! If you want to know whether I write for a certain character, have a look here. If the character you want isn’t on the list, I probably just forgot to add them, so please feel free to ask.

Prince Charming
[A/N: I hope I did the sweet Armory Officer justice! Enjoy! I don’t really have any notes to add to this tbh lol.]
Warnings: None, this is literally just fluff.

“Ensign? Can you hear me?” That voice was familiar.
“I think she’s coming ‘round. Ensign?” The second voice was even more familiar...and very British. As I forced my eyes open and winced against the light, a blurry shape at my side began to come into focus. Malcolm. He was holding one of my hands in his and looking at me with concern. “There you are. You’re in sickbay.”
“What? Why?” My voice came out rougher than I’d anticipated, and I couldn’t help but cringe at the sound of it.
“It seems you didn’t eat anything all day prior to your hand-to-hand combat training with Lieutenant Reed,” Doctor Phlox called as he moved to the side of my bed to take some readings from the monitor. Ah, he must’ve been the other person talking when I was waking up.
“In other words, you fainted…straight into my arms,” Malcolm stated as he picked up a glass of water from a tray beside him. Helping me into a more upright position, he passed me the glass once he was sure my grip was solid enough. “You know, if you wanted my attention you didn’t have to go to such extremes.”
Glancing nervously at Phlox and back at Malcolm, I raised an eyebrow.
“Don’t worry. The Doctor caught on as soon as I carried you in here. He knows,” Malcolm said with a sheepish smile. Malcolm and I had been together for a few weeks, but we were keeping it quiet until we figured out where things were headed.
“And your secret is safe with me, Ensign. Doctor-patient confidentiality,” Phlox said with a grin before walking over to another station.
“You really did give me a fright, darling,” the armory officer murmured bringing my hand to his lips. “I’ve asked Phlox to put you on medical leave for the next couple of days. You’ve been pulling double shifts all week.”
“But I have so much wor–”
“No buts, Ensign,” Malcolm said in his best authoritative tone. “I still outrank you, you know. Whether you like it or not, you need a rest. It’s already been cleared with the Captain. I’ve taken some of my own leave time as well. You’re going to be well and truly pampered if it’s the last thing I do.”
“Well, thank you, Prince Charming,” I murmured as a blush colored my cheeks. If the wink he gave me was any indication, this relationship wouldn’t be secret for much longer.

A Whovian Watches Star Trek for the First Time: Part 050 - Archer Captured and T'Pol Down Bad
Star Trek: Enterprise - Season 2 Episode 25 - Bounty
Tumblr media
Getting close to the end of Season 2, meaning I'm more or less halfway through Enterprise.
The episode begins with a visitor desperate to talk to Archer. Specifically, someone who belongs to a new species called the Tellarites. He seems pleasant enough, but that's soon revealed to be a ruse, even still in the cold open, as a stuns Trip and then kidnaps Archer.
This episode is a follow up to Judgement! The Tellarite has been hired to return Archer after his prison break. Unfortunately it doesn't follow up on the Kolos stuff, but it does touch on a few of the issues of the Klingon justice system. Archer does a good job trying to play on the Tellarite's emotions to let him go, but it doesn't work. The action in Archer's half of the episode is good, especially his escape from the Klingon ship, and I like that Archer found a solution that works for both him and the Tellarite.
Trip is left in command of Enterprise as T'Pol is stuck in Decon with Phlox. We've had a few of these weird scenes in Decon, and they've all been really awkward, but this one is a new level. Weird leg shots aside, T'Pol is starting to show signs of paranoia, aggression and later horniness. At first I thought it might have been symptom of whatever pathogen is infecting her and phlox, but apparently it's part of the Vulcan mating cycle, and if she doesn't mate, she'll die. If you asked me to pick which members of the crew would be the first two to end up sleeping together, T'Pol and Phlox would not have been my first guess at any point in the series. The Vulcan 7 year mating cycle had been mentioned a few times before, I really wasn't expecting this. T'Pol is an attractive woman, and she does make my bisexual brain do things, but I really do have to question the motives behind the writer's choice to have an episode that is essentially dedicated Sweaty T'Pol running around Enterprise in her underwear while Horny out of her mind.
I feel like this one could have done with a couple redrafts particularly around it's B-Plot, but it was well put together. It just felt bizarre to watch.
Comparing my Enjoyment of this Episode with a Doctor Who Universe Story of the Same Title
Doctor Who - Tales From the TARDIS Volume 2 - Bounty
It's an audio story without it's own cover art, I don't have an image to put here, so I'm just throwing in a random image of the Eighth Doctor
Tumblr media
So, Bounty exists in a weird place it's a short audio original story, that's the only original story on a release that mostly consists of adaptations of other Doctor Who works.
It's set early on in the Sam era of the Eighth Doctor Adventure novels, specifically immediately after the first book in that range. The thing with narrated audio books like this is, you've only got one actor to sell the whole story, and Paul McGann, who is normally a brilliant Actor, really doesn't sound enthusiastic about this one. Whether or not it was that or the absolute lack of plot in the short story, getting through this one felt like a chore. Basically, an Alien steals the TARDIS Key, and a not very interesting chase across a beach happens. Not much to chew on, really. No interesting character work, because a random side audio story can't really do anything with the EDA characters, those books were still being written at the time. Not much world building, not much insightful commentary. This one was definitely a dud, and I think Paul McGann Narrating it agrees.
As weird as Enterprise's Bounty was, it at least made me feel something, it at least was entertaining. I can't say the same about Tales from the TARDIS's Bounty.
Some day, I'll get a Star Trek episode that shares a title with a good Doctor Who story.
