Summary: What would a relationship with Juvia be like?

•          Juvia seemed to be a rather shy person the first time you met her. She just kept to her own and never really bothered you or your friends. She never really smiled and she never even really tried to make friends.

 •          After she started seeing you, you noticed she had started to be happier – more cheery even. She smiled at strangers more often, and she was walking around the guild more and even tried to make friends of her own.

 •          She really cares deeply about you and what you think of her. She would do anything for you in the blink of an eye without you even having to ask a question. She listens to your every word and you know this.

 •          Although you might think of her as adorably sweet and kind you also know that she has a very very very dark side to her. Dark in the sense that she can get extremely jealous when she sees basically anyone else around you.

•           She can take on a rather satanic appearance when she really wants someone to back off from you. you know from experience that she can scare even the toughest of people away from you.

 •          Aside from her satanic appearance now and again you know that she really loves when you man up and tend to boss her around a bit by telling her off for getting mad at some of the other girls in the guild. After this, you always say sorry for yelling at her and give her a little kiss on the forehead because you know she loves PDA.

 •          As well as short pecks on the cheek and forehead you know that she loves to go on walks with you around the town while you both are holding hands. Often you two will sit on one of the benches at the park with each other but there will never be any really heavy making out between the two of you.

 •           She would rather leave something like that till you two are both home alone and she can really enjoy her time with you.

Chapter 2: Descent into Madness

To prevent any possible confusion; I don’t think I ever mentioned that in a lot of my stories Gray has a hard time saying “I love you”. This is because he believes that everyone he tells it to will inevitably end up dead. For good reason, since all of the people he has lost throughout his life are those he’s expressed his love to or for at some point. So that is what “his curse” is referring to.

He said it! He’d finally put his fears behind him and told her how he felt. Gray looks down at the women in his arms as she stares up at him. The disbelief evident on her face as she thinks; Surely I misheard him. “What was that first thing you’d said babe?” Think I may have misheard you” she has to ask just to make sure.

Taking her face in his hands, he moves in so close their noses are touching before repeating himself. “I.LOVE.you __________, I LOVE YOU! Only you” the pride in his accomplishment is evident in his voice. Her eyes filled with tears as she tries to get over the initial shock of his statement. “C’mon let’s do this in a more appropriate place” he stands up carrying her into his bedroom. Dropping her onto the bed before climbing over her. “Now where were we?” he asks with his signature smirk in place.

“I love you Gray”

The words don’t have him reeling with anxiety, her eyes arent wide with fright, and she isn’t covering her mouth in horror. This time around is completely different than the first time it had accidentally been said. “say it again” he whispers against her lips. “I love you GRAAAY” she exclaims with emphasis put on his name as he slides into her without warning.

“Now that’s what I like to hear”

Waking up that next morning; A mutual decision is made that today is just for them, so they shut the world out. Neither one of them aware of the storm that was brewing behind the tightly drawn curtains.

So many females she’d seen leaving his house at ungodly hours of the night or early morning. Not one over the last year though...Juvia Was excited she thought he was finally ready to settle down.

5 minutes pass... 10 minutes pass...and he still hasn’t returned to the couch. What could possibly be taking him so long?

Peering out of a peep hole on the front door she strained her ears to listen.

“Look, Im with Juvia now; we’re happy just leave me alone”

“I just thought you should know, at least to give you the option of being with us…as a family”

“What is that supposed to mean?”

“Mmmm baby, I love it when you wake me up like this” Gray groans out, voice still laden with sleep. You can see that she moving as she continues sucking him for all he’s worth. “Want to see you though” he mumbles, rubbing the sleep from his eyes while lifting the sheet up. The twisted smile he sees causes him to yelp and immediately jump backwards, “JUVIA?! WHAT THE-!”

She giggles, “Juvia loves the way you taste Gray-Sama”.

“How’d you get in here?! Where is ________?” He begins to panic upon seeing the empty space beside him. “Don’t worry about that now let Juvia finish pleasuring her beloved”.

“NO!” Gray shouts, anxiety reaching a breaking point as he hops out of bed. “Get out Juvia! Get the F-“ he stops short at the feel of something wet and warm beneath his feet. Looking down he can’t help but scream, “BABE?!”.

Her eyes stare back; Blank, unseeing, her skin is cold to the touch. “No...no..not again! I shouldn’t have said it! I knew better goddamnit!”. The curse, his curse, it’s taken yet another person he said those words to. His parents, Ur, now __________ too. Something snapped inside of his head as he cried out in agony.

Sitting up drenched in sweat the raven haired man looked wildly around the room. His hand began groping the mattress beside him, she wasn’t there. “__________? BABE WHERE ARE YOU?!” he called out, voice loud and terrified. Frantic footsteps came rushing down the hall immediately, she runs into the room hurrying to his side. “What is it?? what’s wrong?!” she touches his face worriedly “Gray?”.

He yanks her onto the bed squeezing her tightly “Thank God” he whispers. “I thought, oh God baby I-“ his body begins to tremble and she hugs him. “I’m here, I’m OK, it wasn’t real” she repeated this like a mantra until he relaxed against the pillows, pulling her with him. “Please say it” he asks. “I love you Gray, I’m never going to leave you” her voice is soft but the conviction is firm. “This is real, that wasn’t” he repeats while caressing every inch of her body, gently kissing her lips. “Make love to me Gray” her voice startles him.

“W-What?”

“Make love to me, focus on me and nothing else, then you’ll know it’s real”.

It was easy for them to get lost in each other and shut the world out once more. They’d had no idea what an ugly day it’d been, how a slight drizzle became a deluge, a down pour. she's managed to get her emotions under better control as she's grown older, limiting the rain around her, but nobody forgot about how she ruined their first date, how she was the reason why everyone had to stay inside during lunch instead of run around and play fun games.

she walks through the park of her childhood. it's sunny now, and the birds are chirping their chipper tune while children are running on the grass and couples are feeding each other sliced fruits.

"watch it," a little boy shoves his shoulder against her harshly, making her stumble until she falls onto the floor. she's surprised, but she feels as though she shouldn't be. she's received this treatment far more times than she can count.

"hey, don't talk to her," another whispers loudly. "don't you know? that's juvia the rain woman. they say she ruins the good."

the children run away from her, and juvia's left to sulk on the ground.

tears gather at her eyes as clouds cover the bright blue sky at an unnatural speed.

"what?"

"the forecast said there was no chance of rain!"

"it was so sunny just a second ago!"

"what the hell just happened?"

"ugh, let's go. i'm getting wet."

juvia holds in her sobs as people run past her to get back to their homes.

she's ruined everyone's day. again. like she always does.

"the rain... this terrible rain... juvia hates it!"

"really? well, i love the rain."

juvia looks up from the floor and meets eyes with a beautiful stranger.

"you're getting wet," juvia argues.

"so? that's just what comes with rain."

"parks are meant to be enjoyed in nice weather."

"who said rain isn't nice weather?"

"it's so calming, don't you think?"

juvia's shoulders slump as she starts to think over what she just said.

"the sounds can make me tired and sleepy. i've always found that naps during rain are the best."

"the rain is draining..." juvia frowns.

"no, i meant like--it's more like a soothing lullaby."

"soothing lullabies are meant for the night time, not for days at the park."

"well, sometimes, it brings me energy."

"how could it possibly?"

"it's the best time to dance."

"is your head on straight?"

"here! i'll show you," the girl smiles and extends her hand to juvia.

there's been so many times where she's found herself in this position, alone on the floor, but this was the first time a helping hand was offered.

juvia takes it because it makes her warm inside.

"i'm singing in the rain," the girl keeps their hands entwined while holding juvia's hip with her free one. "just singing in the rain!"

juvia feels a smile growing on her face at the silly gesture.

"what a glorious feeling, i'm happy again!"

the girl lets go of juvia's hip and pulls her along the pathway, skipping and singing under the raindrops.

"i'm laughing at clouds--" she stops her singsong tune and says real fast, "i'm gonna dip you. are you ready?"

"yes," juvia giggles when her body falls close to the floor, but strong hands keep her from hitting it.

"so dark up above! the sun's in my heart," she pauses before bringing juvia up with a strong pull, so strong they end up with their faces just inches away from each other. she continues while staring into her eyes, "and i'm ready for love!"

juvia blushes a dark red, and she's suddenly pulled into a twirl.

"let the stormy clouds chase--!"

juvia steadies herself when she's facing her again.

"everyone from the place!" she's skipping exaggeratedly through the road again, and juvia's quick to follow. "come on with the rain!"

she suddenly pulls at juvia's hand again, and they're back to facing each other, free hands on the other's hips, feet taking small side steps.

"i've a smile on my face," she winks before shining her teeth in a big smile to juvia.

she abruptly pulls away again and starts moving down the trail again, but this time with slow and dramatic steps. juvia continues to follow her lead.

"i'll walk down the lane with a happy refrain, just singing--"

she shocks juvia by pushing her face right in front of hers.

"singing in the rain!"

juvia hums along to the tune as her arms are guided to sway to the rhythm that the other has created.

"dancing in the rain."

juvia tries to copy the words but gets a laugh when she says "singing" instead of "dancing".

"it's okay, i get confused, too," she reassures, though it doesn't really relieve juvia's embarrassment. "hey, it's not raining anymore."

juvia looks up and sees how the clouds have parted, revealing the bright sun.

the beam of warm light makes her realize just how wet and cold her dance partner got.

"fun while it lasted, though."

juvia smiles.

as the two look at the clearing sky, people start filling up the park again. they stare at the pair strangely, confused by the girl in soaking wet clothes.

"juvia has a towel at her house..." juvia offers shyly.

"lead the way," she smiles.

Well, I have a lot of them, but here’s a rough list (some really broke me but at the same time propelled me to write for angst):

Of Truth and Lies by Anake. [Hetalia fic, fem!Northern Italy x Spain] I read this when I was 13 or 14 (?) and it made me cry so much. I just love apparent the love was between the two characters yet they’re so caught up in the complications of it all, and how one person was so ready to give it all up, but allowed herself one last moment with her love to move on. It has no happy ending, and the songs used were so beautifully tragic.

Jaded. [Detective Conan fic, Hattori Heiji x Toyama Kazuha] This is a now-deleted work, and my heart will forever ache for it and it’s also one of my absolute favorites. Full of heartache and pain, especially with a twist I did not see coming, but the guy was so willing to help her recover and even chased after her when she moved to US.

Anything by @alkhale. I first read her Jack Frost fic, which then brought me to her profile and read her Magi fic, her Haikyuu fics, her DC fic, and then her BNHA fic. Oh, there’s also her JJK fic. I’m so in love with her writing style and how she still instills a troubled MC that everybody loves, yet is so oblivious to it all and is trying to make a new for herself.

Comet by katyastark/@quirkthot. [Boku no Hero Academia fic, Bakugou Katsuki x Midoriya Izuku]. This was my very first bakudeku fic that I found myself reading that I thoroughly enjoyed because it has everything - angst, most especially. She’s now one of my favorite fic writers (for bakudeku, at least) and I’ve been reading a lot of her works now because she’s amazing with whatever she writes.

Heartaches and Devotion by Lady Fuyuki [Fairy Tail fic, Gray Fullbuster x Juvia Lockser] I’m a big Gruvia stan, and they're my ship in Fairy Tail. What I love about this was that the writer used a trope and delivered it well. You can tell that two sides are trying to move on, but failed, and the only way they can move forward is by accepting each other.

Anything by Seeress. She mostly writes for BNHA, specializing in BakuDeku. She has a lot of angst fics (on ao3 and twitter) that are just so good. I really can’t name just one, because she really explores the complexities of love, the angst of it all, and the exploration of the characters.

Four Seasons of Loneliness by rydia. [Dragon Age fic, Alistair Theirin x Mage!Hero of Feraldan/Solana Amell] Um, I am yet to actually finish my Dragon Age: Origins ga,e, and I’ve already finished the last two games. Still, this is those ‘turn back time and change fate’ kinda fic that’s satisfying, because you can relieve the consequences of your actions and make your ‘what ifs’ change.

Swallow by @all1e23. [Marvel AU fic, Bucky Barnes x Reader] One of the cutest, beautiful, yet tragically beautiful fic I’ve read for MCU. Also, basically, anything Allie writes is golden. She also inspired me to post here on tumblr and continue writing!

Spider-Man series by @hey-marlie [Marvel fic, Peter Parker x Reader] Marley did an absolutely splendid job with this series. It’s very well-written and stays true to the source material, without ever losing its touch, especially with the reader. Reader’s role is very impactful to almost everyone around her, but Marley makes it a point to show really immerse and involve you as the reader. Also, I gotta respect her mad nerd skills for tossing a lot of references only comic fans will understand more than the movie fans of Marvel.

This is a very rough list of what I can recommend to you. But, they’ve all really helped me write my angst and are ones that really helped me write for angst. There’s a lot more fics I would love to recommend, but, again, this is a rough list and some I can name at the top of my head :D

I’m extremely picky with my fics. So as you can see in my list, they’re all angst - ranging from mild to heavy angst. What can I say? I’m a sucker for pain ;”D Also, exploring your emotions in these fics is very satisfying to me.

Not a lot of reader-insert, because I mostly read them for smut purposes. There’s a few angst, but nothing really comes to mind.

Well this is the FINAL CHAPTER of the FIRST multi-chapter fic I’ve posted. Thank you all for rocking with me until the very end, I hope that you guys enjoyed this. There is plenty more debauchary to come I assure you! This is only lightly edited, I wanted to get it up ASAP so ignore my ineptitude. This last chapter was written so long ago, I didn’t really revise it either so I feel it’s not as good as the rest of the story, all good things must come to an end 😅

It was as if time itself stopped inside the apartment...Gray’s eyes stare back into yours. Both of you are equally wide eyed and looking terrified.

If you don’t say it now, you might not get another chance like this ever....

This is what you’ve always wanted, you finally made it this far...seal the deal or say good bye.

“Gray I...”

“________ I....”

Feeling the way he’s pressing into you so perfectly, triggers your body to grind down on him for the final time. Releasing in unison as you both say; “I love you”.

Unbeknownst to the two lovers within the apartment; The storm outside has begun to dissipate, and the woman that caused it regarded them with a half smile through her still streaming eyes. “Juvia is happy...happy that you’re now happy Gray-Sama...” the rain woman whispers. She watches the aforementioned man holding his beloved in his arms, they’re kissing passionately, still completely unaware of her presence. With one last tearful glance she drifts down to the street below, separating her body from the water within the atmosphere, her feet touch down on solid ground.

“Juvee?”

The sudden sound of a voice startled Juvia, successfully pulling her from her revelries. <i>Lyon-Sama? What are you doing out at this hour? In magnolia of all places?” surprise evident in her questioning tone.

“I just had the overwhelming need to see you, I don’t quite understand it myself...One minute I’m having a drink at Lamia Scale and next thing I knew I was on the last train to Magnolia with only you on my mind” finishing his explanation he takes her hands in his.

“Are you okay? You look like you’ve been crying out here in this storm” his eyes are filled with concern, and Juvia can’t help but find it touching, her hands feel warm in his...”Juvia is...” she pauses and looking into Lyon’s eyes, realization suddenly hits her.

Lyon never gave up on her throughout her entire pursuit of Gray. He waited patiently for Juvia to come to her senses, always greeting her with a smile and complimenting her beauty. Now, when she finally accepted the fate of her (non) relationship with Gray; The white haired Ice made had seemingly appeared at her side by magic, the two of them were very much alike after all...

“Juvia is fine now that you are here Lyon-sama, would you like to keep her company for the rest of the evening? Maybe even tomorrow as well?” the blue haired female was throughly embarrassed and incredibly nervous at what she was implying, but love always seemed to make her bold.

As he opens his mouth to respond a loud but muffled shout sounds over head; “GRAAAAY!” Juvia’s face was reddening at the realization she must have left the window open when she was spying earlier. “Did that woman just say-?” his inquiry is interrupted by Juvia quickly grabbing onto his arm. “Lyon-Sama there is a love hotel just up the street from here, would you care to accompany Juvia there?”.

“Good God, would I ever!” Lyon exclaims, ecstatic at the prospect of his wildest dreams coming true. Quickly sweeping the water mage off her feet, shouting “Show me the way!”.

With a point of the finger the two race off into the night and the rain woman smiles as she thinks<i> “Juvia could definitely get used to this” as she clings to the man carrying her down the street.

”I still expect an Invite to the wedding!” calls a familiar voice from an alley they pass. Juvia recognizes it immediately, and she can’t help but laugh as she calls back to the woman “Definitely!”.

✨BONUS SCENE✨

It was late in the afternoon of the following day that Gray and Y/N enter the guild hall. The lovebirds holding hands and sharing the looks of admiration hardly notice the normally rowdy space had fallen silent upon their entry.

“Well well well well look who it is”

“Oi you two I have a bone to pick with you!””

She’s currently speed walking with a skip in her step, the birds are singing, and the sun is shining down on her smiling face. “Juvia has finally found the solution to her problem!” the blue haired woman squeals with excitement as she recounts events from the previous hour. ✨ Flash Back✨ It’s with a sigh of relief that Juvia begins her trek home from the job she begrudgingly took was finally finished. Any excuse to gush about Gray, Juvia is willing to take and before she knows it, she’s seated inside the caravan explaining her unrequited love to this mysterious woman. As her story draws to a close, the mystery woman gives her a comforting pat on the shoulder. “It seems you’re having boy problems, I feel bad for you hun, but luckily for you...you’ve come to the right one” tossing her curtain of red hair over her shoulder the woman gets up from the table. “I am an enchantress that specializes in magics having to do with seduction and all things sensual, I can help you ensnare this man by captivating his mind and all of his senses, making it only your touch he craves” the self-proclaimed enchantress explains. Immediately beginning to search through her many jam packed shelves and cabinets. “Gray-Sama will crave Juvia’s touch?” the love struck female whispers as steam begins emmiting from her body as her mind begins to wander. “Found ittttt” sings the red head as she twirls back towards Juvia, “This right here is all you need”. Holding up a small heart shaped vial she explains; “Amorteia, also known as Love Potion 69 is incredibly potent and always successful, but also highly illegal”. Juvia eyes the vial curiously, struggling with her morality “What do you want for it?”. The woman smirks at her sitting back in her chair, “Whatever you think is fair”. The rain woman sets the entire reward she just received on the rickety old table. A sly grin replaces the smirk on the face of the enchantress, “Deal, but I also expect an invite to your wedding, now all you have to do is....”. ✨Flash Back & Prologue END✨

On the other side of the guild Juvia has begun to grow both aggravated and impatient. “You’ll need to wait one hour for it to kick in, good things come to those who wait” recounting the words of the “enchantress” she scoffs. It was easy to slip the potion into her beloved’s drink while he was distracted, but now that “distraction” has his undivided attention! She sighs, “Juvia will be patient, her and Gray-sama will have all of eternity together to enjoy after tonight anyway”. Back to you two 🧚🏼‍♀️❤️ (Still your POV) I let Gray usher me towards a table set in the darkened corner of the guild hall. I’m taken aback that instead of sitting across from me, the guy slides onto the bench seat right up beside me. I scoot toward the wall to put a space between us, but that lasted about two seconds. He rests a hand on my thigh, beginning to slightly caress my skin before saying; “I’ve always thought you had really nice legs y’know?”. “Is that right? I had no idea” I try to keep my tone and expression neutral as if this is our standard flirtatious banter. I falter as his hand begins to inch higher up my leg, but I don’t stop him. “That’s just one of the many things I like about you, surely you’ve noticed by now that I’ve had my eyes on you?”. He better not be messing with me and when I let him know this he gets slightly offended; “You don’t believe me? Fine, I’ll show you then!”. “Look Gray I just really do-mmph!”. All of the sudden my head smacks into the wall behind me and stars ✨ dance across my vision as I hear a loud shout. “GRAY-SAMA!” exclaims Juvia who has apparently pounced on Gray, who then knocks into me, that ended up sending my head into the wall. “Oi! Slipping off the bench I crawl out from beneath the table on my hands and knees, making sure I’m clear of the table before standing up. I turn to see Gray wearing this sexy half smile as he looks at me. I smirk back at him as he mouths ”Later?”, to which I nod and he gives me a wink. I finally turn to walk away, deciding to get Natsu off poor Gildart’s back, as the older man is trying to spend time with his daughter. 🌬 Gray’s POV ❄️ I’d had her right where I wanted her and Juvia had to come and ruin it! I watch as my little minx crawls out from beneath the table, turning to look back at me with a disappointed frown. I give her a wolfish grin; This is far from over, you can run but I’ll have you before this night ends.I can’t help but wonder if she perhaps read my mind with the way her eyes suddenly become alight with excitement. Standing up, she gives me one last lustfilled glance over her shoulder. Later? She nods before turning to saunter off. “I hate to see you go, but damn do I love to watch you leave” I mumble appreciating the added sway to her hips. “Gray-sama” Juvia whines, startling me. “Yes Juvia? What is it?” I ask attempting to scoot away from her. “Juvia can’t help but wonder...” the bluenette trails of fidgeting nervously. “Juvia wonders what exactly?” I tease, she begins to blush. She opens her mouth to respond, but it’s immediately drowned out by a loud feminine squeal. “Natsuuuu!” For once I’m thankful Juvia is blocking me in; I look up to see flame for brains has picked up ________ swinging her around in a circle. My eyes narrow and my fists are clenching at the sight of her laughing along with that idiot as he sets her down. “I need a smoke, lets go outside and talk ok?” I ask the now elated water mage who immediately jumps up on her feet. “Yes of course Gray-sama! Us! Outside! Alone!” She says joyfully as I get up as well. As we head towards the doors I overhear Lucy’s slurred voice say “Drunk not I am you two! I mean Drunk? No I’m not!”. Out of the corner of my eye I see her with one arm around Natsu, and the other arm around _______. Good, now maybe that bastard can keep his paws off my girl. I sigh, a slight grimace appears on my face, here goes the hardest part of the night.

🌬 Gray’s POV ❄️ Inside the guild hall (7:00 PM) I give an unconscious tug on the collar of the dress shirt Lucy had helped me pick out, as I continue watching for ________. I’d strategically chosen to occupy the table stationed nearest the double doors leading into the guild hall. This way I’ll spot her as soon as she gets here and start putting in work on wooing her. I continuously run through the game plan that Loke laid out for me to ensure it remains fresh In the forefront of my mind while I wait. Just as I reached Step Four of my mental mantra, I was interrupted by a familiar (annoying) greeting; “Good evening Gray-Sama” says Juvia as she appears in front of me, effectively blocking my view. “Hello Juvia” I reply in the usual monotone reserved specifically for her. She takes a seat on my immediate left, immediately launching into her usual speel, taking care to press my arm she’s now taken hostage between her breasts. I immediately motion for Kinana to bring me another drink. I’m staring into the half empty glass, intent on blocking out the ridiculous blabbering of the rain woman as one of the doors open. I look up to see ______ enter, finally! My eyes remain locked on the gorgeous female as she walks by. I take a swig of my drink, appreciating the unhindered view of her pronounced backside when she bends down to hug Canna. Feeling uncomfortably warm, I undo the top three buttons of my shirt. ___________ takes a seat at the bar, and I kill off the last of my beverage after seeing her take down the third shot Canna has forced on her. As I get up and head that way, I can’t help but focus on how great she looks in that outfit. "I bet she'll look absolutely incredible without it though", I smirk at the lewd thoughts that follow. I'm unsure where this foreign feeling of unwavering confidence came from, but It’s more than welcome to stay. 💃🏼 Your POV 🏯 Guild Hall-Outside 7:23 pm I’m only twenty minutes late, which isn’t even a big deal considering I didn’t want to come in the first place. As I open one of the large doors a sudden gust of wind causes my jacket to billow dramatically behind me (fashionably late entrance ayeee). Upon entry I see Cana posted at the bar chatting excitedly with Lucy and Mira-Jane, I head over to join them. “Happy Birthday to my favorite Wine-O!” I exclaim, holding out a gift bag for the birthday girl. “A handle of whiskey and a new bikini top, awww __________ you shouldn’t have!” She pulls me into a hug “Now you’re going to take some shots with us!”. I take three before she’s satisfied. As I set the shot glass down I get that feeling again, like I’m being watched...I’ve felt it since I got here. “_________-Chan don’t look now but your boyfriend is coming this wayyy” sing songs Lucy. “He hasn’t stopped checking you out since you got here” adds Mira. "Quiet you two!” I snarl, he had to have heard them!
