i think i'm making äpplemums with caramel frosting this weekend. äpplemums is a variation of kärleksmums (translation would be love yummies i guess?) which is a square shaped chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and shredded coconut on top. looks like this

the version i'm making will have apples in it instead of cocoa powder and the frosting will be caramel instead of chocolate. i'm keeping the coconut in though bc i love coconut!

i hope it goes better than last weekend.. that baking session was awful. u_u wish me luck!

“Kärleksmums!” She cheers happily, showing you the mess on her hands.

You reach around and grab some coconut to shove into your mouth “Yum… is daddy helping you?”

“Yep!”

You kiss her cheek “okay baby you have fun”

Then Elias walks in “Ah you’re home!”

“I am” You smile, kissing him softly “I see you’re teaching our girl all about Alla Hjärtans Dag”

He smirks at your very butchered pronunciation “That I am… she’s my tiny valentine”

“Not for long” You sigh, rubbing your very prominent bump “got an even tinier one incoming”

Astrid then chirps “Is okay baby sister can be my valentine mama!”

You both smile at eachother “That’s so sweet thank you kärlek” 

Elias hums “I’ve got enough space in my heart for all my girls”

I made a different version of ‘Kärleksmums’ (called Love treats in English?). They turned out SO GOOD👏👏👏

...and what is your favorite pastry ?

so i looked up the english translation for it, apparently it is called love treats translated from the word kärleksmums in swedish... but here where i live it is more known as mockarutor/mokkapaloja or in english mocca squares

it is basically chocolate cake, with a chocolate and coffee icing on top. usually decorated with coconut flakes or sprinkles and then cut into squares.

31: what type of music keeps you grounded? I think I feel the most grounded when I listen to The Doors. It reminds me of home, of my youth. I had the walls of my room covered with pictures of Jim Morrison (along with NKOTB), and even if it wasn’t always happy times, being a teenager, I had a sense of security. And that music reminds me of that.

St Vincent, Julafton!

En Karibisk Jul!

Den riktiga julkänslan hade svårt att infinna sig, men vi svenska gossar ombord gjorde vad vi kunde för att bilda den övriga besättningen inom svensk kulinaria; Vörtbröd (well...typ..); Köttbullar; Kanelbullar till frukost (ny tradition). Ytterigare ett svenskt begrepp som anammats i besättningen är "Fredagsmys"! I Twister-tappningen bestående av Kokosbollar alternativt Kärleksmums eller Kanebullar. Inte så mycket mer än själva fikat, men väldigt omtyckt.

Väl på St Vincent låg vi med två landlinor för ankar ca 150 meter från stranden.

Bukten och hamnen vi låg i är samma hamn och bukt som första scenen ur första Pirates of the Caribbean är filmad från, Wallilabou Bay! En hel del movieabilia och rejält med berättelser, myter och skrönor i hamnen! På juldagen såg vi filmen på däck med hjälp av projektor och ett gammalt segel.

En väldigt vacker plats och lite speciellt när man kan simma in till barens kalla öl. Och fullt med koraller och färgglada fiskar. Jag hälsade på Doris! Eller en släkting till henne.

En udda jul med en del saknad men också mycket skratt. Och julbad. Utan att behöva knacka hål i isen!

På juldagen satte vi segel mot Carriacou och Tyrell Bay.

33. What's your fave pastry?

I love chocolate and when the texture is sticky, so either kladdkaka (sticky cake) or kärleksmums/mockaruta.

34. Tell us about the stuffed animal you kept as a kid. What is it called? What does it look like? Do you still keep it?

I got a small teddybear from my maternal grandparents when I was born. It went everywhere with me and I still have it. It's put away in storage, otherwise I would have taken a picture of it. It's a small white teddybear with pale blue and pink patterns. The background and the patterns kind of blend together. It goes by the unimaginative name of Nalle (The Swedish name for teddybear)

35. Do you like stationary and pretty pens and so on? Do you use them often?

I can't draw at all and unfortuneately I don't write as much I used to, so I don't have a lot and I hardly use them. I do have some fun pens I have gotten as gifts throughout the years. My favourite is a pen that looks like Bilbos sword from The Hobbit.

38. Tell us about your pet peeves!

Apologies for sounding bitter and cranky...

* People throwing their litter anywhere they're not supposed to.

* People who watch/listen to media without headphones in public spaces.

* Rude people. I could write so much about this, but I'll just end up making myself annoyed, so I'll stop at that.

* People who pick something from a shelf in a store and when they decide that they don't need it, drop it where they stand.

* People who open packages and boxes in stores and either: steal the contents and leave the box on the shelf, steal a part and leave the rest of the contents and box on the shelf, spread all the contents in various locations throughout the store and leave the broken box on the shelf.

* Parents who let their children run amok in stores without supervising them at all and encourage them to play with everything that is for sale.
