Great introduction to the queens! The problem with Uranium Suite and Fall Fair Suite is that Uranium depicts how people would see the choir (only on a surface level) while Fall Fair shows us how their actually like but doesn’t provide that much context as to that their a choir. However what Ex Wives does it that it shows them as individuals as well as clearly shows they CAN work as a group but they don’t get much individuality from it

More audible foreshadowing via the style of each remix
Lina is simple at first with a few strings, but has a lot of little bits added from time to time. It toys with the melody and what it can apply into the already catchy tune. Her intro is probably the one with the most inconsistency as it does not keep the added stuff going. It has a relatively low and steady beat but makes up for simplicity in vocal potency. ALSO JUST SO SAVAGE SHE ATE THAT UP FR FR. Just like No Way
Anne has a slightly higher and more excited melody. The Tempo is the same but serves less of a heavy role unlike Lina’s and is mainly just the supporting cast to the melody. While Anne’s vocals stay relatively high throughout at the end she goes lower and more sinister. Great audible storytelling! There’s little to no playing with what’s been set up and when there is it’s all subtle. As mentioned before the break is only at the end. It’s so cherry and cheeky but if you look at the lyrics it uh- kinda intense. Very DLYH if ask me
JANE SEYMOUR JUST IS PUN FILLED, THE JOKES. It perfectly sets her up to be the one overlooked and the more… patient and forgiving one of the group. She only ever snaps in one of the two fight scenes. Also the fact that she claimed she was the only one he truly love, while sadly likely to be true, also contrasts how loving and caring her sing ends up being with the slight cockiness that the line can be read as along with the infamous “RUDE!”. Her melody is the middle. The added wind pipes(?) later are the high. The tempo is a sort of balance from the higher notes. Her melody is so melancholy and monotone. It’s very Jane and very Heart of Stone fr fr let’s keep this greatness up!
ICH BEN ANNA VON CLEVES. This one does not disappoint either! You can already see the consistent parallels of Anna’s relationship with online dating throughout the song, so it’s good that’s it’s inky reinforced here but not much! Also Haus of Holbein foreshadowing so I guess that softens the whiplash somewhat- Also this intro if the only one where the other Queens serve vocals more than once, I guess you could connect it to how Get Down is the only song that has Anna going out of her way to get the Queens involved (THATS ISN’T BY U BEING PROBLEMATIC ANNE). Also Anna’s snarky comment at the end is ironic as she was probably the only one besides Cathy who didn’t have to deal with Henry in that aspect. Also very very simple only having the accordion, tempo, and clicks to compliment. Get Down!
PRICK UP YOUR EARS IN THE KATHRINE! WHO LOST HER HEAD! For the longest time I thought it was “beheaded; before I promised you I’d see outside of wed” referencing both how short her life and time with Henry was. But no it’s “promiscuity outside of wed“ 💀. Either works however! Kinda ironic that Kat is the one to interrupt Anna’s comment as… ya know… But anyways. The chord progression on this one is especially of note as it’s actual kinda different from AYWD. While AWYD goes High and ten descends, this one go High -> Lower -> Lower Medium -> Low. Interesting indeed! Long of stings and slashes to replace the clicks that Anna had! Also not sure but Tempo seems to be more dominant?
BAM TINY WHIPLASH STRAIT INTO A LAMENT BABY. Then it goes pop again as Cathy gains her balance. Notice how the beats don’t comeback until that point. The first two lines rather have the piano as the click clack. Past that THEN the tempo beats come back once Cathy is talking about and addressing them as a GROUP. She is the one to slide them back into the chorus after all! Foreshadowing as how she convince them to write fanfic- I mean reclaim their stories! Anyways as I saying, she’s probably the one who shakes it up the most. More foreshadowing!!! Also Pt. 1 of Cathy being an independent women’s who may or may not come off as slightly protective and clingy-. Still very IDNYL!
So to recap that giant section; it’s Good use of simplicity, effects, and contrast -> Vocal centric within a happy lucky tune and beat that breaks at the end -> Puns and a somewhat monotone melancholy feel that easily shows character -> More simplicity and focused on the vocals to carry it, also ironic jokes and sarcasm! -> Interesting chord progression and really good wordplay -> Amazing and subtle foreshadowing mix into a lament turned beautiful transition to chorus
Also apparently the Queens go from right to left if you have ear buds in but as a half deaf person I will sadly never get to get the full experience-

Mammon -  Good kid from the lightning thief musical. He’s a good person but everyone always blames him for everything, even when he’s trying to be better. And MC is the one person who understands him, but they can’t be there with him all the time so he’s lonely and just wants to be loved and fit in.
Leviathan - Micheal in the bathroom from be more chill. Levi is very anxious and doesn’t like social interaction, and much like Mammon, relies on MC. MC is his best friend, so when they’re gone Levi probably feels like half of a whole. He also has low self esteem

I read the first two and I'm ashamed to say I liked them before I did like ... even slightly deeper than surface level research on Henry's wives lol. 
oh, well, you’ll get no judgement from me, i read the lady elizabeth before i knew what was up re: w/eir, and as for these, i’ve at least skimmed most because they’re one of the few avail at my library...
it’s interesting to contrast how sex is portrayed, like this is one of the instances where you can absolutely judge books by their titles/covers. the c/oa and j/ane novels are always fade to black, sexual desire obliquely referenced but not made manifest (tbqh, catherine’s teenage crush on fray diego is as spicy as it gets, jane is...deeply offended and shocked by the quote about henry’s [lack of] virility in the trial of may 1536 because she’s like ‘that’s not true’,f ahitughfrdjsl;f...) the AB novel if you remember, is fairly sexually explicit but honestly more in the period before marriage than during (there’s no SA, at least not of anne in the novel, but one scene of extreme dubious consent that’s borderline prior to marriage, during betrothal, another than constitues sexual harassment in the form of a forced kiss, before betrothal) and w/eir seemed fairly obsessed with crafting scenes where anne is sexually humiliated in other aspects. the k/atheryn howard novel is extremely sexually explicit; i haven’t read all six but probably the most of all.
the author’s notes are another interesting point of contrast. w/eir spends pages  defending her choice to portray anne as fully conscious and in complete excruciating pain after her execution for an entire paragraph/s (?) by citing some study on deaths by guillotine in the 19th century (was anne killed by guillotine? no? apparently that’s irrelevant); she spends pages in the A/N of the katheryn howard defending henry, insisting he didn’t want katheryn die because he sent her to syon first, as if he could not have completely prevented her execution, and ultimately did not. 
maybe she has learned her lesson from the (limited...limited, for how egregious and voyeuristic and orgasmically schadenfreude it was) criticism that creative choice in novel 2 received, because the closing line of the KH novel is better than the tudors’ version, and at least, implies that she felt no pain, and died instantly, because the novel ends on the hyphen of her prayers:
‘God have mercy on my soul,’ she prayed aloud. ‘Good people, I beg you pray for me! God have mercy —’
not for them, the welcoming embrace of angels that c/oa receives, of course, but then, i would never expect that from w/eir. 
and the jane novel...omg, i have talked about it before, but i am just entirely flummoxed by the attempt, as she has called it, to create a sympathetic character of jane, because it failed so spectacularly. like, i am a hater, and i will fully admit that, but i did read the novel with an open mind and it is just like continually being slapped in the face with what planet does this woman live on, lol... 
as the title goes, she is ‘haunted’, and there’s this scene where she visits a place that henry norris and AB had a conversation that she remembers from when she was a lady-in-waiting. somehow she is convinced by the spirits of the place, or whatever, that they were both entirely innocent of all accusations, and she is...comforted by this? she’s comforted by the recognition/realization that (at the very least) two innocent people were falsely accused and wrongly put to death, rather than horrified by that. it’s...so much.

actually, no I'm upset again about SIX lmao
because okay yes it's the Hamilton problem. Because for all that Six is like meant to be a, them, in that space, rewriting history.... it's like... it's all a complete fiction that doesn't...really seem to have bearing on the real queens' lives and legacy, like it all works within the context of the show, sure, but the "victory" of the show is, reframing a competition between them as solidarity, but it's still predicated on like reclaiming their assumed feuds. And SIX hardly highlights the amazing achievements these queens had in life, each is still shoehorned into an Archetype, and it's that Archetype that they seek to reclaim in the end, when like... for some of them that Archetype is manufactured for the show.
Like, Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn both were highly educated and highly involved with politics in life as queens. Hell, Catherine comes from an impeccabl pedigree- her parents are the frickin Reyes Católicos. Catherine once rode in armor to rally troops while pregnant (in.. some war or uprising or other, I ain't an expert in English history, just a hobbyist on the Six lmao). Anne was definitely involved with politics lmao (though fine, arguably the song lyric means they weren't her thing before she came to the English court...), she was involved in diplomatic affairs as a court lady.
Jane Seymour was also disappointing to me because her whole deal was "I'm not what I seem on the surface, look closer and you'll see more." But really her song kind of... presents more of the same. Henry not only loves her only, but also she truly loves him/her love is stone. And she wants to be a mother to her son. That's exactly what we think of her already ((mother who) died after birthing a son), that's. not anything new. Like Jane Seymour may not have been as highly educated as Catherine or Anne, but she also isn't just "woman who died becoming a mother." She helped reconcile Henry and Mary. She pleaded on behalf of the monasteries, which were in the process of being dissolved (the dissolution of the monasteries caused a lot of upheaval not just religiously but also in the way of life for the common people. Check out the Tudor Monastery Farm series to see how enmeshed the monasteries were in the lives of the common people). But no, lol, you'll suddenly see more... of the same, ig
Anna of Cleves.. Yeah less said the better. They invented a made up Anna of Cleves who is a girlbossified ugly chick who honestly kind of becomes a Henry mirror in Get Down, which if I think on it too hard I do find off-putting lmao. When there are contemporary accounts that indicate while maybe not hot, she was hardly hideous. And I don't think SIX does a good enough job of addressing that aspect of, it rly was a Henry thing. They just fall back on "my face lost me my crown" (though Henry's chief complaints seemed to have been with her body), although I will say having her move back to Cleves (""haus of holbein"") probably actually would have been something Anne wanted. But like temperament wise, she was known being circumspect and a good housekeeper and generous with her servants. She greeted Katheryn Howard at court as queen courteously (perhaps a tad overly so even, but that helped to cement publicly/to Henry how little she (publicly) resents the humiliation of being cast aside and rendered "unmarriable" and sexless in the eyes of the public). They also cast her as like, "yeah my life is amazing lol no complaints" as if we shouldn't waste our time sympathizing with her, because I mean think of how much harder the others had it (which is quite contrary to the ultimate message they land on lmao). And also Anne is definitely one of the least formally educated of the six, and notoriously NOT savvy (so much as circumspect) the way say Anne Boleyn or Catherine of Aragon were, so to cast Anna of Cleves as the "educated, savvy princess" is incredibly ironic to me. Like, Catherine and Anne are right there.
K-Howard is probably the one who has a solid-ass arc and whose portrayal I think adds something very interesting to the discussions on the six. Hers is the only one that I think does a good job of highlighting something *based in reality* and shining a mirror to people's perceptions they have of K Howard as this ~silly girl who got in over her head.
And Katherine Parr gets an actual shout-out to her life outside of Henry (though I find the premise of her song as a "sob story" a bit.. of a tryhard stretch personally). But she's, like, the only one who gets to be the "educated wife" out of the six.. when like. that wasn't the reality of the Six
Anyway. There's a lot to dig into and ig for Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn. Both are figures that are highly present in the public consciousness and imagination, so I guess even though they do, like, lose their depths... it's unlikely to really do "damage" to the historical discourse surrounding them? But still kind of a shame when I really think about it. Because like.. cmon.
But then again, this is after all a piece of musical theater, not a history lesson. So maybe it's fine, maybe it's excusable. Idk. It really is like... I both do and don't mind it. If they could have snuck in more historical references I would have been thrilled. But also they're trying to tell a specific story, and so the characters are written to service that story, and like, it does succeed in that. But there is like just enough history that it haunts me bc I just Know people are looking at it like a history lesson too and they're gonna take the wrong stuff away from it maybe. 8V

Some notes: 1) The rest of the takeover is saved on the account’s Instagram if you wanna check that out, and 2) This was some useful info from a rehearsal swing’s POV, this kind of thing should happen more often!
Q: What was your favourite role to cover? A: (...) Boleyn was definitely my favourite queen to cover, um, she's always been my favourite queen. I feel like she's the most like me; I'm a little bit of a chaos goblin myself. She's hilarious, and she doesn't give a *shh* what anyone thinks, and I love that.
Q: Audition process? A: (...) First round was a self-tape; two songs, they were just like, pop songs, um, and a section of Get Down... and then the second round was a dance call, and we learnt Get Down and All You Wanna Do. And then the next few rounds, they would tell you what queens they wanted to see. (...) They first wanted to see Boleyn and Howard for me, so from the start I was doing the audition section for Don't Lose Ur Head and All You Wanna Do... which was like at the beginning and the end of All You Wanna Do. And then I think it was like my fourth round... they asked to see Seymour as well, so I had to learn Seymour. Um, and then from then I was doing those three. And the final was the same songs, the same dances, and the opening chat.
Q: What was your favourite part of the process? A: So my favourite part of the audition process was definitely meeting my amazing cast and my amazing rehearsal swings Sarah (McFarlane) and Reca (Oakley) (...) Yeah. the cast was just amazing. We had so much (fun).
Q: What's your favourite costume? A: This is a great question! It's a very hard question...  um, I love Bobo, I love Bobo's costume; I love green. It's my favourite colour.  But I think I have to say my favourite costume is K Howard's. I just — the pink. I just love it. I'm not even a fan of pink but it's just [gasps and does a chef's kiss].
Q: What do rehearsal swings do? A: Great question! So, I actually didn't really know what a rehearsal swing was either before I - when I got offered it; I wasn't really sure what the role entailed. Um, but you basically are kind of a backup so you learn the role — so there were three rehearsal swings on. (...) and we all ended up learning three roles. Um, they were kinda just the roles we auditioned for. Um, we kinda went through them in order. Um, so we had like Bobo was my first. And then Seymour, and then Howard -- I never really got around to Howard. (...) And we'd basically learn all the choreo, all the music, along with the principal cast, and when you're learning it, you kinda learn it on the sides, and then if they had time, they would like swing you in so you could do it in situations as well. And then at the end of the process we got to do swing runs as well.
Q: In which scenarios do you get to go on the ship? A: So, this one is tricky because I don't actually know. I know there's been situations where — I know one time I think a K Howard from the cruise went to do like, the UK Tour or something, so then the alternate on the cruise stepped in to be principal, and then (...) they got a rehearsal swing to be the new onboard swing. I know that happened once. So something like that could possibly happen... I'm praying it doesn't happen; I want my beautiful cast to stay on the contract.
A: Dream roles? Q: (...) Dream roles. It's tricky. They've changed a lot. When I was little, I've wanted to be Elphaba, and I just think that's a little bit ambitious now. 'Snot gonna happen. (...) I would love to be in Wicked, though; I'd love to be in the ensemble, maybe even a swing. I love that show. Um, I'd love to be in Les Miz. Very different to Six. (...) Maybe a bit of an Eponine moment, you know. I'd love to be one of the Heathers; I'd love a bit of Heather McNamara, I think she's so cute. Heather Chandler, she's queen -- don't know if I could pull it off. But, um, I'd love to be in that show.
Q: Would you ever audition for a land production of Six? A: Yes! I would absolutely love to and that is the hope that one day I can audition again for the cruise possibly, or I'd love to be seen for some of the UK productions. Fingers crossed for the future at some point!
Q: How did you sing your SAID riff in Don't Lose Ur Head? A: So my Bobo riff was pretty... average [chuckles]. Sorry to disappoint! Um, our amazing Jessie (Bodner), who is Bobo on the cruise, did this incredible, like [softly riffs to an implied A5] like went all the way up there. I can't. (...) I couldn't quite do that one. Mine was just like, [softly riffs to an implied F5]. You know, she did the job. Maybe she'll change. She might get better! Who knows?
Q: Favourite song to perform. A: So, controversially — even though I've been raving about Bobo being the dream of the dream... Heart of Stone is my favourite song to sing. Just 'cause it's so beautiful.
Q: What queen did you play in the swing run? A: We actually managed to do three swing runs altogether. So the first one, we all did our, like, priority track. So mine was Bobo; it's kind of in the order we learnt them. Then the second one we did, I was Seymour.... and the third one, we kind of got to choose, so I did Boleyn. Again.
Q: How did it feel being part of the first UK-US combined cruise cast? A: Yeah! It was so fun to be part of the first combined cast! So, the majority of us are from the UK, apart from Jessie, who's Bobo, the amazing Princess (Victome) who's an onboard swing, and our rehearsal swing Reca. They were from the USA. (...) It was really fun to see how some of the jokes and some of the dialogue changes, um, in different accents and different dialects, that was really interesting.
Q: What are your favourite roles to watch/listen to for Reca, Sarah, Princess and Ellie? A: This is an amazing question! Um, this is actually one of my favourite parts of the rehearsal process — (it) was watching all the other swings do all these amazing roles. Um, okay, so... Reca: Cleves. Amazing. Sarah: Howard. And for Princess, even though her priority track is Aragon  — and I'd always thought I'd maybe (have that as) my favourite for her —  I'm gonna have to say Bobo, because her Bobo is hilarious! And the costume, and the wig.... and she just looks incredible in that costume. And then for Ellie (it) is really hard because she's [sighs] — she's next level. She's incredible in all of them. But I'm gonna have to say Seymour. Her Heart of Stone is (...) one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. Ever.

Shuffle Tag Game
Thanks for tagging me @macabremoons!
Name of the game: shuffle your "on repeat" playlist and share the first 10 songs and tag 10 people! I also saw someone on my dash play this game and find a way to relate each of the songs to their writing/WIP and that's exactly what I plan to do! (Plus, one of my dnd groups plays a game like this with our campaign and it's so much fun!)

Old Money - Jonathan Young and Caleb Hyles. An excellent track for the Archduke's Chosen, the vampire clan founded by the Archduke of vampires, rumored to be the very first vampire. I did say that most vampires in this setting aren't wealthy, but these are the exceptions. They make their unlife seem both glamorous and unattainable--rulers of gatekeeping, and their club is very exclusive. Most of the other vampires have a low opinion of them. This is Vince's clan.
Nevermore Episode 1 Soundtrack - Ele Soundtracks. Creepy forest vibes let’s goooo!
Rebel Yell - Billy Idol. A perfect song for Belladonna, leader of the Night Terrors! She's an outspoken rebel leader who gained the moniker of "The Banshee" throughout history and wears it with pride and this setting's equivalent of punk.
Swans - Lisa Gerrard. I had trouble assigning this to a character or moment, and then landed on Amaryllis, the witch vampire. This seems like something she’d listen to!
Venus - Lady Gaga. A fun song for Priscilla, one of Vince's fellow Chosen vampires!
Brotherswing - Caravan Palace. Thanks to Daria Cohen's Vampair Series on Youtube, this song conjures to mind images of two characters dancing with aggressive tension, in both senses of the word. In terms of this WIP, I like to think of Ren and Erevan performing that dance! They certainly outperform everyone else hehe
We All Rage - Legend of Vox Machina. A perfect Night Terrors anthem. They are angry.
All You Wanna Do - Six the Musical. OF COURSE SHUFFLE GIVES ME THIS. I SAID I WOULD EXPLAIN HOW EACH OF THESE SONGS HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH MY WIP AND SHUFFLE SAYS BET. Anyway, this is where the CW comes in, and you'll especially know if you're a Six fan or are familiar with this song. It's Renwick. Besides reading about vampires and loving cats, Ren's childhood was defined by being hurt, abused, or otherwise failed by the adults in his life who were supposed to love and protect him. And just like the song, he carries an element of hope that someday something will change, that maybe someone will love him enough to sweep him away from his horrible life. And thus he keeps trusting, keeps opening his heart to people who appear kind. And yet..."I thought this time was different/Why did I think he'd be different/But it's never, ever, different..." And just like Katherine Howard, he dies young, just a year older than she was when she was beheaded. (Fun fact: I once considered giving him Katherine for a deadname, after K Howard herself, but settled on something else.) But unlike the fifth wife of Henry VIII, Ren comes back and he comes back with fangs, claws, and a thirst for blood. I imagine him singing his own version of the song, detailing what he went through, and by the last chorus he's angry and confronting his abusers and then there's blood everywhere. But...thankfully, Ren does eventually find people who genuinely love and care for him.
Darkfall - Nox Arcana. I could imagine this playing during a certain point where Ren learns a horrible truth about someone he loves…
Daughters of Darkness - Halestorm. Another Night Terrors anthem to close that out! This one's for the ladies: Belladonna, Tansy, Dahlia, and Amaryllis. I imagine them singing this as they wreak havoc.

How much does Steve melt, the first time he sees how good Tony is with kids?
anon I am so busy with work but there are so many good li’l prompts in my inbox OH NO WHATEVER SHALL I DO anyways—
obvs there’s the scenario in which steve and tony are already together/in a deeply committed relationship (see also: MARRIED) and are discussing kids and whether or not they want to adopt or use a surrogate or if they should even do it given who they are and what their lives are like (and ofc Tony would have at least one “oh god what if I’m a horrible father like Howard was??” meltdown for some extra ~drama~)
but it’s me, and you know I *live* for pining!Steve, so imagine: Steve (who has been nursing a crush on Tony for ages but doesn’t want to ruin their friendship/doesn’t think he’s good enough/doesn’t think Tony wants him that way/take your pick of Steve angst) volunteers to join Tony at a very Tony-specific event, say, an MIT job fair. lots of smart kids doing smart things way above even Steve’s pay grade all clamoring to work for Stark Industries or intern for the Avengers tech squad or NASA, etc. (Steve would also like to talk to the folks at NASA because let’s not forget our man is an absolute nerd in his own right and would like to volunteer for their next, extra-dangerous space mission...)
Steve basically acts as body-man-slash-Tony’s-time-manager the whole time, because he knows Tony is liable to get tunnel vision if someone comes to him with a particularly good idea. The MIT kids are more interested in the science of Steve than Steve himself, so once he makes it clear that Tony’s the one to talk to about anything super-serum related, they all pretty much leave him alone. 
which is fine, because that leaves Steve with extra time to just observe Tony in one of his many elements: talking “cool science stuff” with the next generation of the world’s brightest minds, hands waving around, suit jacket and tie discarded, his hair a mess after running his excited fingers through it one too many times—happy. He gets to watch Tony be happy and excited and genuinely engaged with people who understand him, which makes Steve pine that much harder because Tony can never be that around Steve, of course!! Steve’s not smart or quick enough to even come close :((( 
(steve, darling, your low sense of self-worth is showing.)
AND THEN! an older student—I like to imagine a mom who fought tooth and nail to get back into school after having to leave for a number of years to deal with Life Stuff and eventually managed to nab a spot in one of MIT’s grad programs beyond all hope, all on her own—approaches the Stark Industries table with a very fussy, very noisy, very literal baby strapped to her chest. 
Steve turns around to tell Tony his 3 o’ clock is here, but oh look, Tony is already there, telling Steve as he passes “oh my god Steve look it’s a baby!” and then stumbling around the table in his excitement, eyes big and round and shining. he the woman’s resume before she can even try to hand it to him (Steve usually is fast enough to intercede) and folds it up and places it in his wallet before he’s asking her—Shantelle, her name is Shantelle—if he can hold the baby while they talk. 
so Steve’s helplessly watching as Shantelle unhooks the contraption while Tony holds the baby—Faith, who’s maybe six or seven months old and already has her mother’s eyes—under her arms and then moves her around to cradle her against his chest. Steve watches the two adults move around to the other side of the table out of the throes of traffic to talk, and they do, intensely and excitedly and animatedly, but all the while Tony holds baby Faith in his arms, running a knuckle down the middle of her back and humming under his breath whenever he stops talking. he looks—he looks blissed out, Steve thinks, and Faith is passed out completely, drooling on Tony’s very expensive shirt and gripping his designer sunglasses hanging from his collar in one sticky, chubby fist.
by the end of their half hour meeting, Shantelle has a job at SI and Faith has an ample education fund (K-12 AND college) waiting for her, personal courtesy of Tony Stark. and Steve literally just stares at them the whole time, at the drooling, sleeping baby on Tony’s chest, at the shine in the man’s eyes when he passes her back to her mother, at the smiling way Tony tells Shantelle not to worry about the drool or the crushed glasses, at the wave he sends her off with. 
Steve is ready to propose on the spot. he doesn’t, but he imagines it, because he would literally put down his life, his shield, if it meant giving Tony a life in which they could have a family and he’d get to see Tony’s face light up like that every day. it’s such a perfect, beautiful fantasy Steve almost tears up on the spot. 
all he manages, after the fair is over and Steve’s talked to the NASA folks and their arms are full of resumes, is “I didn’t know you liked kids so much.” it comes out kinda gruff because he’s still lowkey on the verge of tears just imagining carrying around a baby while Tony makes cooing noises at her or letting her sleep on his chest after he’s passed out on the workshop couch. 
meanwhile Tony’s off and babbling about how babies and young kids are purely innocent with zero ulterior motives or cynicism and they just make him look forward to the future that much more because “babies are the purest expression of hope I can imagine” and Steve’s heart CLENCHES, but he says nothing.
later on, he draws Tony like that: fast asleep on the ratty workshop sofa, a baby passed out on his chest, his arm around her to keep her from rolling off, instinctual protectiveness amplified by his being Tony Stark, who would rather die than see someone he loves get hurt. 
as Steve shuts the notebook and turns out the light, he imagines the baby opening bright eyes the same color blue as Steve’s and grinning toothlessly when she sees him standing in the workshop doorway. he falls asleep thinking about that. he spends every day of the next week thinking about that. every time he looks at Tony, his subconscious adds a baby, and that shining look in Tony’s eyes. and he wants it. all of it.
finally, after a tough mission and an even tougher de-brief, in the middle of Tony ranting—halfway out of his seat—at Steve about him holding the reins too tight and not letting the team improvise enough, Steve just stares straight into Tony’s eyes and says, “I’ll make it up to you if you let me take you to dinner tonight.” 
he doesn’t know where it came from, but it’s worth it given how Tony all but swallows his tongue and just dumbly nods, still halfway out of his seat, hand hanging in the air mid-jabbing finger motion. 
that evening, Steve takes him to a Burger King that still has a play area kids can use and delights in watching Tony try to focus on his date with Steve and the gaggle of toddlers in the ball pit on the other side of the glass. it’s the best first date Steve’s ever had (and his last first date, period. naturally).

I saw the second preview of six and here are my thoughts (along with a few fun stories at the end):
My heart literally fell out of my ass when the queens started walking out They changed a few small little things here and there and it was perfect If six doesn’t win best lighting at the Tony’s I will sue Ex-wives was WOW I literally could not stop smiling Some of the poses were different 
ADRIANNA FREAKING NAILED NO WAY
I am convinced she just is beyonce always
She’s just fantastic in that role and that’s what I have to say about that
Ig abby danced a little too hard during no way because she kept messing with her wig after
Actually she lowkey played with it throughout the whole show and it was adorbs
Britt was helping her fix it and like pointing out where it was a little cray (also abby’s wig looks so good omf)
ANDREA IS- WOAH DURING DLYH
Her delivery throughout the whole show was a bit more mature, but it was still so babey I love her
(On a side note someone today told me I look like Andrea, which is very kind but so untrue because I literally look like a broken thumb and she is gorgeous)
Her “IM NOT SORRY” was amAZING
She like low-key cut made the whole head joke short and im kinda sad ab it, but it was still fantastique
Through the “Wearing Yellow To A Funeral Bit” abby looked confused through the entire thing and I was cracking up
HEART OF STONE HOLY SHIT
She was INCREDIBLE and her dress was so pretty and sparkly and I just wow 
Shes just so pretty in general like ma’am how do you do that please drop the skin care routine 
The emotion that was conveyed was enough to make me tear up BUT I DID NOT CRY AND I AM VERY PROUD OF THAT 
she did the “you lift me high” line and kinda went into this airy place in her voice and it was angelic and heavenly and all the good things
HER RIFFS WERE JUST DFJDHJLFH
She was just fantastic and thats all I have to say 
Thats a lie I have so many things to say about that woman but the time will come
HOH was a whole acid trip there was a point during this song where I literally just took it all in and then thought “Janey, you really spent your hard earned money to go on an acid trip for a solid few minutes good job”
Their dancing is hilarious and thats that
ABBY SAYING “BUT WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT YOU’LL STILL WALK AT FORTY” I had to stifle a laugh because my queen is indeed 40
THE GERMAN ACCENTS HAD ME QUAKING
Brittney Mack is… all bad bitch energy and I was living for it

When she did the “my horses can trot up to twelve miles an hour”- in the boot (not that I watch those…) abby is always making a 😳😶😲 kind of face and this time she just couldn’t stop smiling and it made me laugh

Her reveal was SO GOOD she literally just started checking out her nails while everyone just applauded… AS THEY SHOULD
When britt told the person to get up, this person full on WENT and britt was like shook it was hysterical
THE INTERLUDE BETWEEN GET DOWN AND THEN KAT’S ROAST WAS ICONIQUE
i dont think it was here but I cant remember where it was but BRITT WAS PLAYING WITH ABBY’S WIG AND IT WAS REALLY CUTE SHE WAS LIKE PLAYING WITH THE ENDS OF IT AND AWH

Anna acknowledged it and just went “I know” before turning to the queens and saying “I know” it was hysterical 
“I’m Catherine parr, I draw the line in arbitrary places bLaH bLaH bLaH”
THE CLAPPING- BRITT GOT IN HER FACE AND JUST *CLAP. CLAP. CLAP.”  It was the funniest thing oh my gosh
“Are you sure Catherine? I-we don’t mind if you wanna sit this one out… I mean you must be exhausted from all those backing vocals”
IDNYL WAS INSANE AND ANNA UZELE IS WICKED TALENTED LIKE DANG
I dont know if this was intentional or not but when they all start to understand the purpose of parr’s thing- abby is the last to stand up and in my head im like “no yeah that makes sense because shes “the one he truly loved” and shes still trying to get to a point where shes realizing he wasn’t all that great and I dont know I just really like that minor detail
The whole “remember that I was a writer…” part got loud cheers, especially from abby it was very cute
She did a new riff on the “we all disappear” line and WOW my eyes went so wide it was so good I was genuinely shook
the “i dont get it” was sooo good
“My sixth finger” was said so casually and so determinedly that it was a whole new joke and I loved it
“Everyone notices Jane cant dance” -abby just looking so sad
“Yeeeaaaahhhhh. I read!” Was so cute and she sounded so proud of herself it was adorbs
The way they just stood there awkwardly was amazing and got so many laughs it was so good
When sam said the line about competing, abby really almost cut Anna’s line out but she caught herself and it was funny I dont know if anyone else noticed it, but I did and it was glorious

After it was over, of course it got long applause and the entire time abby was doing her like “sparkle hands” but also awkwardly moving her arm kinda like a noodle and then going back to sparkle hands and it gave me a good chuckle

Abby interacted with the band a lot to the point where she almost missed a cue and it was very endearing
AND THEN THEY DID THE CURTAIN UP THING AND FIRST OF ALL WOW THEY ARE ALL SO CUTE AND IT WAS SO SWEET SEEING THE WAY THEY ALL WATCHED EACH OTHER WHILE THEY WERE SINGING AND I JUST JDKFDJLA
abby’s hair is SO LONG but I am here for it
So I was looking for my friend when I hear “Make some room, make a path!” From a security guard, and the queens legit walked RIGHT PAST ME
I wanted to go to the theatre anyway to take pictures, but when I saw them, I did follow them back to the theatre because wow I wanted to bask in their glory I didnt even want to talk to them I just wanted to be in their presence
So im like, walking behind them when this happens:
I guess abby saw someone she knew because I heard this “abby!” And then she was like “OH MY GOD” and like RAN to hug them and i legit almost walked right into her/got stepped on but i freaking stopped like a noob i should’ve just let her run me over but I did not I just stopped in my tracks and let out a soft “aH” and then went around her
And then I got to meet a friend and apparently toby heard us squealing and watched us hug for a solid however long so that was awkward
And Julia schade was like talking to him and stared at us for a good amount of time
And then I was walking away and passed Julia again and she kept looking at me, but she was talking to someone else and I think she thought I was going to stay to talk to her (and I would have loved to) but I didnt I just gave her a smile, a nod, and a little wave because I can not do confrontation like if I could not confront abby ma’am I cannot confront u either I am SHY

For the SIX Ask Game, uhh, what about the Broadway cast? :O
Favorite principle: Samantha Pauly my beloved 💖 she’s kind of the reason I got into Six in the first place and she’s just so pretty and talented, I love the emotion she brings to the climax of AYWD. She really IS the embodiment of the K Howard role to me
Favorite alt: ooh this is a hard one, I have to say that I was blown away by Courtney Mack when I saw her live as Howard. Really though, they’re all phenomenal
Favorite costume: I really like the way Abby’s costume fits her, I think the Seymour costume is one of the hardest to make look right. Also I’m not sure if it counts but Hana in the principal Aragon costume 😍
Favorite hairstyle: Sam’s ponytail my beloved
Something I’d change: does letting Mallory go on for her covers besides Seymour more often count as a change? Not that Mallory Seymour isn’t great, I just crave more of her Aragon and Howard content
Favorite little detail: Cleves frantically trying to stop Boleyn from finishing the “I wouldn’t be such a — if you could get it up!” line, as well as Britt’s reaction to every bad pun (HERstory, royalling stones, etc.)

Why the pink peplum for parr?
Welcome to design analysis with Sofia. Aka why the six pink alt pants should have a peplum. Under the cut.
So first lets establish what pink pants would be. Six costumes can be divided into two main categories. Principal costumes and alt costumes. The alt costumes come in four (so far) colors that are different to the principal ones but work for all of them (to different degrees of success). At first the costumes consisted of one top and one bottom made to resemble one of the first covers of the alt that wore it first, plus a Cleves top and jacket for the first Cleves cover, originally teal. The elements they reference to the principal costumes are (this is really basic the full analysis of this will eventually come):

Black alt: Originally worn by Grace Mouat as alt. Seymour/Howard. It takes the skirt shape and full dress look from Seymour, and nothing obvious for Howard except the “k” chocker she eventually got. This costume was originally designed as a swing design for the first UK tour when Grace was the only cover in the cast.
Teal alt: Originally worn by Vicki Manser as alt. Boleyn/Cleves. It takes the greenish color from Boleyn and the shorts from Cleves.
Orange alt: Originally worn by Courtney Stapleton as alt. Aragon/Seymour. It takes the orange (close to gold) color from Aragon and the pants from Parr. The sleeves could reference either of them.
When Six first opened in Chicago the first non-Cleves alt variations appeared in the shape of teal pants and a black Boleyn skirt. Worn by Nicole Kyoung-Mi Lambert and Mallory Maedke respectively. The variations are a change of bottoms and sometimes sleeves or tops (mostly for Cleves) made to keep the general design of the costume but with a similar look to the principal costumes. What these take from the principal costumes is mainly the shape of the bottom part, but with cutouts resembling the alt top. Let’s see what it looks like with the black alt as it is the only one with variations for all six.

Aragon: Open skirt, might have alternating colors on the panels.
Boleyn: Shape of the skirt.
Seymour: Shape of the skirt.
Cleves: Whole costume. Only one that changes top as the jacket is taken off during get down, so the regular alt top doesn’t work for this.
Howard: Open skirt with clear panels and a horizontal line near the bottom
Parr: pants
During the 2019 West End cast change (and the start of the second UK tour) two major things got introduced to the alt costumes: the updated orange costume and the new pink one. As the original alt costumes this two were made to resemble the first covers of the queen (or queens who wore it first). Some elements this two costumes had later appeared in the newer versions of the principal ones so in a way the inspiration went both ways

Orange alt: worn by both Hana Stewart and Harriet Watson. Hana is alt Seymour/Parr and Harriet is alt Aragon/Parr. The costume follows Harriet’s covers as they are the two queens this costume was based on originally. From Aragon it takes the color and to some extent the peplum, from Parr the pants and the peplum (the peplum didn’t appear on either until months later, but it is one of the design elements that ties them together), again sleeves might reference both. Also, Aragon and Parr have a cutout design that is very similar to the orange alt cutout.
Pink alt: originally worn by Shekinah McFarlane who was alt Aragon/Cleves but only wore it for Aragon; and later by Zara MacIntosh as alt Aragon/Howard. It looks like it is mostly based on Zara’s covers. From Aragon it takes the skirt, peplum, and general shape (even if Aragon wouldn’t get the peplum until months later, from Howard it takes the pink color and the cutout design.
All of that was the context I had when creating the game. But now that the long explanation is over lets actually get into the pink pants, I made for the six dressup game, and why those get a peplum.
First when working on the game I was sure I would make more alt variations than the ones we had seen. Because otherwise we would be left with only three orange variations and one pink. The full list of what I’ve made is and why it looks the way it does is:
1. Cleves transformation underlayer for all alts: literally just a recolor of the red one.
2. Teal Aragon: new Aragon skirt but in teal
3. Orange Aragon: two separate versions first is basically the peplum but in the shape of the skirt, second is the new Aragon skirt but with the orange cutout
4. Orange Boleyn: Boleyn skirt but with Orange cutout
5. Orange Seymour: alt Seymour skirt in orange
6. Orange Howard: Howard skirt with one of the orange cutouts and no solid panels on top (I tried a few versions, and this is the one that looked more balanced.
7. Pink Boleyn: Boleyn skirt with pink cutout
8. Pink Seymour: alt Seymour skirt in orange
9. Pink Cleves: following the teal shorts and orange jacket but in pink
10. Pink Howard: Howard skirt in alt pink color
11. Pink Parr: this whole post is made to explain this one
So, from that list you can see that most of the alt variations I designed are basically recolored versions of existing costumes as that was the obvious way to make it, but in the middle of figuring out pink I realized the peplum was indeed the obvious option.

I already mentioned the pink skirt is the Aragon shape with the Howard color and cutout. Comparing it to the rest of the alt variations I had three options as to what to do for pink Parr:
Black: Both Aragon and Howard skirts have no peplum and that is the same case with Parr
Teal: No Aragon skirt but Howard and Parr have no peplum
Orange: No Howard and same costume for Aragon and Parr which has a peplum.
If you consider the main pink skirt is clearly Aragon and has a peplum the orange path is the obvious one. And then add the fact that the pink sleeves are huge and some extra volume in the bottoms balances it. The answer is there: pink parrplum.

I saw the third preview of SIX and here are some thoughts
- First of all (unrelated to SIX) I just made a tumblr so I have no idea how formatting works
- Everyone was cheering so loud the second the lights went down.
- I never realized how far downstage they were (I was sitting in the second row) when they walk out; they were so close
- They walked out with such power. The silhouette with the haze, ah, absolutely amazing
- Andrea's hairpiece and Sam's ponytail were SO LONG. I spent most of ex wives mesmerized by their hair. And the vocals. Also the vocals.
- Sam's riff at "the fun's begun" sent chills down my spine
- Andrea winked at someone in the front row
- Britt looked so offended when Sam cut her off
- The choreography was so sharp for No Way. Especially the dance break
- Adrianna just totally milked the applause at the end of No Way, and it was fantastic
- Andrea's facials during the intro to DLYH were fantastic. She had that "What? Moi?" Face, and was totally into what the other girls were saying
- Her laugh was absolutely adorable, and for a brief second, I actually thought she was reading something on her phone that made her laugh. It was so genuine
- She also just looked so confused as to what was happening, and I could see her just put the pieces together and ahhh she's such an amazing actress
- Britt's facial expressions during DLYH were amazing. When Andrea was like "I didn't know I would move in with his missus" Britt had been sort of half paying attention, but at that line she shot up, completely shocked
- Sam and Britt were kinda making fun of/teasing boleyn and my brain couldn't decide whether to watch Dre or watch Sam and Britt's antics, because they were hilarious
- When Andrea was like "He's actually gonna chop my head off!" Britt looked like a scolded child and I was laughing my ass off
- A lot of Andrea's lines were much lower in her voice than they were before. I liked it, I just hope that the change isn't because of people making fun of her voice or calling her immature.
- The dick joke was much faster than before, just a very quick gesture with the mic
-Her "I'm not sorry" and ending riffs were SO GOOD AND I AM DECEASED
- I wish I could remember specifics as far as Jane's monologue goes, but I do remember there were some delivery changes, and I loved it
- Abby added some more riffs and did this light falsetto on "high" during HOS and I died
- I couldn't see the actual tears, but I saw her wiping her face when she finished. IDK how she sings that well while crying. Her voice didn't even really crack, it was still so strong and I have no idea how she does it
- HOH was so incredibly chaotic and I couldn't stop laughing the entire song
- I don't remember exactly when but I'm pretty sure Anna waved at me at one point (or someone near me, lets be honest)
- Britt had so much energy during Get Down that she almost kicked Adrianna in the face (and Dri didn't even react)
- She told this young girl in the front row to get up and dance. I think she was a bit shy, but Britt and the others were so encouraging and when she sat back down, instead of saying "get down" Britt was like "SHE'S SO CUTE"
- The costume reveal was so good, and Britt just had this expression like, "yeah I know I'm hot" and was just basking in the applause and cheering. Same with the applause at the end, she was just LIVING for it
- Sam didn't pet Dri's cheek during the K Howard roast, she just kinda stood there.
- I don't think she wrapped her arm around Dre either
- She did put her arm around Abby, and her "when will justice be SERVED" was so funny
- I never noticed before but Britt just kinda stares at Sam's arm/chest so neither of them break (I knew britt and Sam couldnt look each other directly in the eyes, but I never realized Britt was looking at her arm/chest)
- The pacing of the last few lines "I'm really hot...oh wait like this" was a lot faster and it took me a minute to get the jokes. And I've seen many slime tutorials of the show, so I already know the jokes.
- AYWD felt more serious from the beginning. It didn't feel as flirty or playful.
- Oh my god Sam's vocals just destroyed me.
- I've seen this before in slime tutorials, but seeing in person just emphasized the sinister expressions that the other girls have. Especially since they're in dark, mostly cool lighting, and they're looking up at her with zero trace of a smile. It was so creepy (in a good way)
- During the 3rd verse when the girls start closing in on her, Sam looked so nervous and uncomfortable and I just wanted to give her a hug
- Her riff on "different" was so fucking good and hearing it in person was even better than the videos. Her voice had so much power and so much emotion
- They're playing around with the ending of AYWD to try to get the audience not to clap, and when Sam threw her head back with that loud gasp instead of just letting her head fall back while she's sobbing, all I could think was "ouch, that looks painful"
- Sam was fighting so hard to stay in character during the applause. Because her next line is "and then I was beheaded" so she can't really bask in it or react to it the same way that Britt did, for instance.
- She changed the inflection on that line, so it was "and THEN I was beheaded" and I laughed so fucking hard at the way she said it so seriously.
- Andrea sounded so genuine when she was like "i don't want it to be weird between us" and then she finished the line in the same tone and it was even funnier than before
- Britt jumped like a foot in the air when Abby was like "oh boo hoo" and she was screaming so loud, Adrianna looked terrified, and everyone else looked a mix of bewildered, concerned, and startled
- I was nervous Adrianna was gonna back into the side of the stage for a hot sec lol, that's how fast they were moving. And Abby's pose at the end of "I DIED" just about killed me.
- Andrea's "hahahhaha what" was so fucking hilarious, and the way the band just teetered out and the queens looked completely lost was just golden
- During the argument about cathy not singing sam was just like "WOOOOOOOOW wow wow wow wow" and I was dying
- Everyone looked so skeptical about cathy telling them to sit down before her monologue
- ANNA'S RIFFS HOLY SHIT. She added some new ones and oh my god I am deceased
- The other girls were hyping Anna up so much during IDNYL and it was so fucking amazing to watch
- Adrianna and Andrea stayed holding hands instead of putting their arms around each other and it was so damn cute
- ANDREA FUCKING MACASAET FUCKING SMILED AT ME THROUGH MOST OF SIX AND I DIED. I thought she was looking at someone else at first, and I'm 95% sure she could clock the exact second I realized she was looking directly at *me* because I promptly started freaking out. I also was so mesmerized by this angel smiling at me that I missed the rest of the song lol
- Sam's "do you wanna hear one more song?" was so fucking cute
- I did get a video of the megasix but I'd get distracted by the singing and forget to turn the camera lol
