Kaiba cupped Atem’s cheek,

“I mean it. I’ll leave the party as soon as I’ve shown enough face and come straight home.” He said, nuzzling his nose against Atem’s.

The King sat back in his throne and gently closed his eyes. His spirit had left him for a short while, returning to the Millennium Puzzle to help defeat Diva. He was sad that he couldn’t have stayed longer, but he knew deep down that living in the present world wasn’t where he belonged. Although it had been great to see Yugi, he was a little disappointed he didn’t get to see someone else that lingered on his mind. A certain stubborn, brown haired, blue eyed, dragon obsessed man who Atem found himself thinking about a lot lately.

He smiled to himself, his eyes slowly opening to glance out at the space before him. Marble walls and flooring, everything draped in golds and purples. It was a beautiful palace, but something inside Atem was missing. He had a lot more time to think now that he didn’t share a mind with his former partner, which sometimes was a bad thing for the King. As much as the thought Yugi would be on him mind he wasn’t as much as Kaiba. His rival tugged at his heart in a way he didn’t understand, and he would do just about anything to figure out the reason why. Even seeing Priest Seto, his life long friend and cousin, sometimes hurt the King. They were so much alike, but he just wasn’t him.

Lost in thought, Atem was brought back to reality when one of the guards came bursting through the door, ranting and raving about someone dress in futuristic clothes that was heading straight for the palace. Atem stiffened in his throne. Could it be? He thought for a moment, trying to stay perfectly calm, for if he freaked out then what would everyone else say. He took a deep breath and thought it over. After his spirit was brought back after the fight with Diva he did some digging around to uncover facts about this 8th Millennium item and low and behold “The Plana” was an incredible object. Said to hold the power to transcend dimensions. If someone were to learn how to control that power then something like that could be possible. He closed his eyes, chuckling to himself. Of course “he” would find a way.

He held his arm out to the guard and instructed to let the foreigner pass, as they so obeyed. Atem sat there, his eyes locked on the gates as they opened, watching the man walk inside, his head held high, with as much confidence as the Pharaoh himself. Atem stood, his jewelry rang in his ears and throughout the great hall as the taller man stopped before him. As their eyes met, violet meeting blue, Atem smiled, his eyes relaxing.

“Welcome to Egypt, Kaiba.”

So about that Yu-Gi-Oh doujinshi I am working on, I think I got the style nailed down. Whatd’ya think?

Anyway, my VERY IMPORTANT Government exam is coming in a month, that’s why I disappeared. I’m literally studying non-stop, so progress will be slow, but as soon as the exams are over I’ll be back full force and update you on the KaibaxAtem doujin! This is a project I really want to finish to prove myself.

I’m taking a break from my ffxv for some much needed Yugioh feels. Okay I’m swamped with this Kaiba x Yami fic by @uglifish. I’m trash for Kaiba x Yami / Kaiba x Atem stuff okay? They’re my childhood feels (although I’m not that good with dueling and super lazy in fixing my decks in Duel Links  *shakes fist to the heavens *) First illustration is based off Chapter 8-9 and the latter is found in Chapter 13 respectively.
