Naruto: Ah, back from your vacation, Sensei?

Kakashi: Mm. The mountains are truly beautiful this time of year. And the cabin with the wood-burning fireplace; so cozy.

Sakura: What was your favorite part?

Kakashi: Hmmm ... well, I suppose it would be riding Gai.

Naruto and Sakura:

Naruto: R-riding Gai-sensei?

Kakashi: Yeah. I was scared to at first because you know, I've gotten a little heavier these last few years, and with Gai's bad leg, I didn't want to hurt him. But he said it would be okay, and I'm glad I listened because that was the most fun I've ever had in my life. And you know what a show-off Gai is; after a while he was doing tricks and these fancy maneuvers. All the other people couldn't stop watching us.

Sakura: ... people were watching you?? You did this in public?

Kakashi: Of course! Hey, you guys and Sasuke and Gai's team should join us next time. We were thinking of going back and spending Christmas there. I bet you'd have a blast.

Naruto: Sensei ... I'm the Hokage now. I can't be seen doing such ... such lewd things in public dattebayo!

Kakashi: Lewd? Since when is sledding lewd?

Sakura: Sledding?

Kakashi: Yeah; Gai fit skis to the bottom of his wheelchair, I sat on his lap and we sled down the hill.

Kakashi: To be able to sleep next to my husband in our bed.

Naruto: Huh? Are you two fighting?

Kakashi: Kind of; we can’t agree on the dogs.

Naruto: Sensei … be more reasonable. I know you’re used to living alone with the pups, but you’re married now, right? You’ve gotta make compromises.

Naruto: A lot of people don’t like dogs sleeping in the bed with them, dattebayo. Don’t blame Gai if he’s one of those people. He —

Kakashi: That’s not it, kid. We BOTH want the dogs in the bed with us.

Naruto: Oh? Then … what’s the problem?

Kakashi, pouting: All night long, they snuggle with HIM, not me. It’s not fair! Gai spreads out all over and the dogs want to cuddle into him; I always end up on the floor! I don’t think they love me anymore!

Naruto: Now, Sensei, I’m sure that’s not it.

Pakkun, walking up: We love you, Boss. But Gai is bigger and he gives off a lot more body heat. Plus he always smells like steak.

Kakashi: … fine. Then, Naruto, for Christmas  I want you to take me to a buffet a couple of times a week, until I gain some weight. I’m winning this war one way or another!

"You know you didn't have to get me anything." Kakashi said. Before him, was the sight of a very beautiful woman backlight by the warm lighting of a fireplace in a cabin in the mountains.

It was a yearly retreat for many shinobi who often didn't have families to go to for the holidays.

"I know." She said with a soft smile as she held the gift covered in shiny red paper that matched her dress. "I just thought it'd be nice. Especially since you've been so kind to me."

"But I... uh..." Kakashi looked around at the others exchanging presents. "I didn't... get you anything."

She tilted her head. "And that matters because...?"

His already usual blasé expression deadpanned. "_____."

"Yeah yeah." She waved off the issue and pushed the present towards him.

He was now staring at the shiny silver bow like it was tempting him to open the pretty box.

"Alright, well... thank you." He said politely and took the gift, unwrapping it somewhat methodically until... "This.... this isn't-"

"Mmhm! A pre-release copy of the new Icha Icha book." She said proudly.

"Wow, this is..." His eye glimmered, containing the excitement practically vibrating off of him. He cleared his throat to calm down. "Great."

"You know what?"

"Hm?" He was already reading the back.

"I think a good gift would be if you let me read it with you." She said with a sly smile.

He chuckled nervously. "Uh... read it with me? You... know what kind of book this is, right?"

"We're both adults. I think we can handle it." She winked then smiled. "I'm glad you like it."

He moved his gaze from the book to her instead and wrapped his arms around her in a rare hug from the man. "Thank you."

"You're more than worth it." She said with a gentle squeeze as she held him back.

Nothing made her happier than seeing that glimmer in his eye. Even that alone was more than enough of a gift for her.

Christmas with Santa

Gojo Satoru

You groaned as Gojo tried to wake you up for the nth time. “Satoru let me sleep!”. You turned the other way and buried your face in the pillow. The room was cold and your blanket kept you warm, it was the perfect recipe for a good sleep…except your annoying boyfriend who climbed over you and now lay in front of you. “Y/n wake up! It’s christmas!”.

You opened one eye to look at him, half your  face still pressed against the pillow. “Okay, Santa”. You chuckled.

Gojo rolled his eyes, “When  will you and Suguru stop with white hair jokes!”. Gojo huffed in annoyance. You chuckled and tried to pull the much larger man inside the blanket, “Come here you baby!”.

“No no no. I am not falling for your trap..baby. Come on, I have to show you your gift!”. Gojo whined and you knew there was no way you were going to get that extra sleep today. ‘Fine!”. 

Gojo was waiting patiently in the living room waiting for you to be done with your routine. “Y/n!!!”. He yelled for the fourth time. You got out of the bathroom and shot him an icy glare. “I swear this gift of yours better be worth all the annoyi-”. You stopped in your tracks when you noticed a tree..a cat tree. You pointed at it and pressed your lips together to make sense of things.

“Satoru..I said we should get a christmas tree not a cat tree”. You walked over to it and Gojo slowly moved to stand behind you. He cleared his throat and you turned around to face him. Gojo held a small white box with the lid ajar. “Merry christmas baby”. 

You walked over to him and carefully lifted the lid to see a small white kitten sleeping on a pillow. You gasped as you touched it gently with your knuckle. The kitten slowly opened its eyes and looked at you, it had one blue eye and one brown eye. You picked it up carefully and cradled it against your chest. It was warm and so soft that your heart melted. 

“Satoru!”. You mewled as tears lined your eyes. “Thank you”. Gojo cooed and wrapped his hands around your waist and rested his head on your shoulder. . “You said you wanted a cat and she seemed like a perfect addition to our family, right?”. You nodded your head and pressed a soft kiss on the tip of his nose. “I love you santa”.

“I love you too”. Gojo said and kissed the side of your head.

Kakashi Hatake

Kakashi didn’t believe in holidays. He had always thought them to be distractions from reality. A time when people forgot about the cruelty of the world..and yet he was up before the sun to clean the house and make you a perfect christmas breakfast. “Do you think she’ll like it? The gift?”. Kakashi asked, eyes still focused on spreading the pancake batter in a perfect santa shape.

Pakum sighed near his foot. “For the tenth time boss, she will like it“/

“Kashi?”. You walked into the kitchen rubbing your eyes. “What are you two doing?”.

“We..are cooking breakfast”. Kakashi said as he watched you walk over to him. He wrapped his arms around you and patted your head. 

“You’re so warm”. You cooed and closed your eyes. 

“Umm..boss” Pakun cleared his throat.

“Yes pakun?”. Kakashi spoke, his eyes still closed, relishing in your embrace. 

“The pancakes”.

Kakashi immediately let you go and flipped the pancake right on time.

“Why does this pancake look like santa?”. You asked, craning your neck around his torso. 

“Because it’s christmas darling”. Kakashi smiled to himself and kissed the top of your head.

“I thought you didn’t believe in holidays”. You looked up at him and pouted.

“But you do”.

“Are you making santa pancakes because you look like santa?”.

“Hey! Only because I have silver hair does not mean I look like him!”

“Your hair is also shaped like his cap”. Pakun added making you chuckle.

“Enough”. Kakashi warned.

“You can also climb down a chimney”. You added, making even the deadpanned ninken chuckle.

“He even got you a gift”. Pakun spoke and kakashi sighed. There was no winning with you and pakun.

“What?!!”.

“Darling, let’s have breakfast first”. Kakashi tried convincing you.

“No no no no. Pakun, where is it?”. You smiled ear to ear and crouched down to pet the ninken.

“Pakun,no”. Kakashi commanded. But he knew it was useless.

“Pakun, if you show me my gift then I will show you yours”.

Within minutes you,kakashi and all of his ninkens were sitting on the carpeted floor surrounded by gift wrappers and half eaten, half cold, santa shaped pancakes. “This is beautiful”. You said as you admired the teapot kakashi got you from the land of snow. Kakashi leaned back against the couch and smiled at you. He looked around the room, his ninkens all in a new matching collar with santa hats on them. Red and green gift wrappers all over the floor, the christmas tree that he and pakun decorated in the morning, the matching pendants that you got for him and you with your initials engraved on one side and his on the other and he thought to himself that this what holidays mean. Being surrounded by people you love and people who love you.

Kakashi: What do you think of this? *holds up a sweater*

Obito: Eh, I don’t know … I don’t think purple is really Gai’s color.

Kakashi: You’re probably right. *moves to another display and starts thumbing through the clothes*

Obito: Oi, Bakashi? Can I ask you something?

Kakashi: Yes?

Obito: Are you happy? Being married to Gai, I mean?

Kakashi: I am. I finally feel like … like I’m where and who I’m meant to be, you know?

Obito: That’s a good thing.

Kakashi: It is. What about you, mm? You and Deidara? How’s that going?

Obito: It’s going great. He makes me feel like none of the bad things matter. Like every time he hugs me or tells me he loves me, I feel as though one bad memory is erased from my life.

Obito: In fact, before we leave, can you come with me to that diamond store? I think I know what to get him for Christmas …

Kakashi: Are you going to propose?!

Obito, blushing: Well, I —

*a loud BOOM is heard; they run outside the shop in time to see Deidara holding a handful of fireworks and running away from security on the ground floor*
