Book bad boys throw more red flags than a ref but man, I can't get enough of them. Sign me up for some Kallum Locke.
spookyrevioos took this perfectly moody picture of our Kallum candle which was inspired by the Trisha Wolfe book "Lovely Bad Things". I made this candle with scenes noted directly in the book: spicy sandalwood. This candle is one I can burn everyday and not get tired of it. Definitely sets the book reading mood.
All of our Trisha Wolfe blends are officially licensed with the author.

Book Blurb: He’s the devil. And she’s his wicked game. An enemies-to-lovers dark romance with a thrilling twist from the disturbed mind that brought you the Darkly, Madly Duet. Halen: They say eyes are the windows to the soul—but when he looks at me through hues of slate-green and flaring blue embers, I’m terrified of what’s watching me from behind his clashing gaze, something primal and feverish that threatens to melt me like fire in ice. I fear falling into Kallum Locke’s pitch-black soul. But after I’m called to a crime scene to investigate the most gruesome act of violence to descend on the legendary town of Hollow’s Row, I have no choice but to turn to Kallum, to the man I had locked away in an asylum for the criminally insane. He’s the leading expert on all things Nietzsche and occult. And now, to get answers, I’m forced to make a deal with the devil himself. Kallum: Really, eyes are the windows to the soul? Then I wonder what little Halen St. James thinks of all the cryptic eyes watching her in the killing fields… I wonder if the hairs on her delicate nape lifted away, if a thrilling shiver raced over her soft skin. She’s desperate for the answer, and she’ll do anything to uncover it—even make a deal with me, dangling freedom like bait on a hook. But she’s far more tempting to sink my teeth into than any lure. And the pain will taste twice as sweet. CW: Serial killers. Crime scenes. Dark themes. Violence. Murder. Blood and sharp object play. Occult references. Loss of loved ones. As this is dark romance, there are likely other dark themes and situations, so please read responsibly.
Review:
For fans of the Clarice x Hannibal or Will x Hannibal pairing, this is the ULTIMATE book for you. I ATE THIS BOOK UP. A enemies to lovers story about a potential killer and a criminal profiler who are forced to work together to catch a ritualistic killer while dealing with their obsession and yearning for each other? This is so good. Halen is a criminal profiler/psychologist who is grieving the loss of her fiance and child, she's consumed by her cases, particularly the case of Kallum Locke, a handsome professor who is involved int he Harbinger killer case... she put him away... but now she needs his knowledge to catch a new killer. Kallum was obsessed with Halen from the moment he met her, her pain, her grief, is the muse he wants. He'll do anything for her, to be near her, to taste her, and to play the game that their dynamic has brought forth. He knows she's desperate for answers to the Harbinger killer case and that she thinks its him, but he'll bide his time and play his hand, all so he can capture her for himself. This is the first book in a series and I can't wait to start the second one!!

🖤 Cover Reveal 🖤 Lovely Violent Things, the highly-anticipated second book in the Hollow’s Row trilogy by Trisha Wolfe, is slated to release late February 2023! Lovely Bad Things is available now in KU. Dare to look into the abyss with Professor Kallum Locke and forensic profiler Halen St. James as they return in this contemporary dark romance that is as psychologically thrilling as it is 🔥🔥   Cover designed by the amazing Najla Qamber Designs  Add to GR shelf: http://bit.ly/3UR9KMv   Halen: The moment I gave in to Kallum Locke, I sold my soul to the devil. Now that devil has returned for me, a daemon siphoning off what soul I have left.   The Harbinger killer has descended on Hollow’s Row amid an active case, where I’ve been hired as a consultant to profile two killers. One offering gruesome sacrifices to obtain an ancient philosophy, and the other a dangerous omen from my past.   A dark truth hovers at the edge of my memories—but is it real, or a trick by the chaos magician himself, meant to trap me in his web of lies and corruption.    Kallum is too consuming, his striking green-and-blue eyes staring into my depths, demanding I feel the frenzy he teased from my soul.   I have to escape him.   Kallum: I’ve tasted Halen St. James. My muse of heartbreak. I’ve sank my teeth into her tender flesh, lapped at her tears, marked her as mine…   So I’ll be damned if I let her go now. Not this time—not when I’m so close to revealing our truth. It’s easy to be tricked when you believe your own lies. And, oh, how my little Halen clings to her pretty lies.   Beneath her obsession with naming me the killer, she’s afraid of me—afraid of us—but I’m not the danger she should fear.   The moth is attracted to sweetness—and my little Halen is the sweetest damn thing.   There is no escape. Halen needs her big bad villain to protect her. #coverreveal #comingsoon #lovelyviolentthings #trishawolfe #hollowsrow #psychologicalthriller #thriller #darkromance #contemporary #fbiprofiler  https://www.instagram.com/p/CmJi3purfzP/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Arlo rose an eyebrow to Nesta and Elain.
"You doubt my powers? Alright then. Give me something to do."
Nesta raised her chin he was just as pompous and arrogant as the rest of the fae of this court.
"Capture a Kelpie."
Arlo gave a slow grin, his eyes closed and his head tilted back. Nesta watched as cuffs on his wrists flared to life and finally fell away in a shower of silver sparks.
Arlo stood rubbing at his wrists.
"I have an hour before my locks go back on. Come."
----------
Arlo was still a High Aeon, still capable of the cruelty that Aperion ran on. Perhaps it was his freedom that brought it out in him now.
He'd asked Kallum to free him, with this plan already in his head. He'd heard Kallum's laugh sweet like spring water in answer as the shackles released him.
The Kelpie was easy enough to attract. It snapped at him, clawing at the chain that now wrapped around its neck. He ignored as it cursed him and his kind. Arlo barred his teeth at it, and grinned back at them.
"You underestimate me still? Allow me to demonstrate I —"
He stilled as Gwion walked to them kissing Elain on the temple. Both Arlo and the Kelpie had gone very still. Gwion wrapped an arm around Elain's waist and waved his hand.
"Carry on."
Arlo turned back to Kelpie who hadn't looked from Gwion. Was that a plea in its eye? Oh well, this would be fun anyway.
Arlo bit at his finger black iridescent blood on his finger. He shoved it in the Kelpie's mouth who buckled and whined but swallowed all the same.
Arlo dropped him and the collar. His power didn't flare, it was all around him, glowing off his skin.
"Find me a nest and bring it to me. It doesn't need be your own."
"How kind of you Arlo."
Arlo gave a bow to Gwion.
"Life can be taken just not innocent ones."
"Is whichever nest he eats or destorys not innocent? What was their crime?"
Arlo slid his eyes to Nesta as the kelpie brought the dozen eggs to them. Gwion hummed, the understanding he supposed given from the lands and waters itself.
"I suppose this is Nestor's nest then?"
"There is no female to which he was bound so none will be fertilized. They are doomed to die either way."
Gwion hummed and placed a hand over his chest.
"I hope they are allowed entry into the Realm of A Thousand Currents."
The Kelpie on the ground began to shake but looked to Arlo who grinned at them.
"Eat them."
The Kelpie dug his nails in and looked to Gwion. Speaking in the Old Tongue.
"Will this stain my being Great One?"
"Do you do this of your own volition?"
"No Great One."
"Then no. You will find peace in the Thousand Currents."
Inky sludge slipped from its eyes as ate the eggs. After the last one it shuddered and wretched. Arlo gripped it's chin his power in it beginning to glow and burn the male from the inside out.
The power flared forcing the fog and clouds away for a brief moment as the egg shells and the Kelpie burned.
Arlo shook his hand out and looked to Nesta, the shackles flaring back onto his wrists before sinking back into his skin.
"Safisfied little warrior?"
Trust it to be Nesta to initiate a challenge, Elain had been quietly sipping at her tea as the conversation had begun. The talk of power. She couldn’t help but watch her sister, watching how she seemed to preen with pride at how easily it was to bait him. How she was trying to show herself as superior, how she was trying to go toe-to-toe with him – Nesta always did have a superiority complex issue.
That was how they found themselves here, how she found herself standing on the edge of the waters with her sister. Her fingers clutched the edges of her shawl around her, still playing the ideal role of the meek sister who was more interested in what was going on. This was almost like watching the mortal boys when they were still mortal, watching how they stunted to try and gain their attention – especially when they had money.
She didn’t need money. She smiled as she sensed him coming up behind her, her body turning slightly to face him as he finally reached her side. Her body pressed closer to his, her fingers releasing her shawl as she raised them to gently brush against his cheek. Around him she let that mask slightly fall, she allowed him to see her.
Her gaze returned to Arlo, her head resting against Gwion’s shoulder as it did. She was growing bored of this display of power, bored of this show of what he could do. Elain remained quiet through most of it, it was only when her sister moved slightly that her focus shifted.
Nesta stood closer than Elain to the edge, her arms folded as she watched the entire scene unfold. She didn’t even acknowledge Gwion when he appeared, he wasn’t important in that moment as she watched Arlo and how he was handling the situation. A show of power, a show of control over another. She watched as the Kelpie seemed to be unable to do anything but what it was commended.
“They are lucky to find such kindness.” She knew how cutthroat this world was, she had seen the darker side that her sisters seemed to be far from. She had been the unfortunate victim of a creature like the one before them, she had nearly died because of it. Maybe that was why she asked for him to capture a kelpie.
Elain’s attention was drawn away from her sister when the Kelpie conversed with Gwion, her eyes settled upon his face. It was a tongue she didn’t know, one which she hoped he would maybe one day teach her so she could stay his equal. That was what she wanted, she wanted to stand by his side and not be questioned. “What did you say Gwion?” She asked softly.
Nesta looked towards Arlo, a sharp nod of her head before she stepped back. “You have shown your power, though I was expecting something much grander and not so…brutal.” She laughed at herself a little. She should have known better; she should have known what the fae was like.

Excerpt - Runaway Princess WIP
So I’ve realized I haven’t been posting much of my own writing on here ... haha whoops. I wrote this for an assignment the other day, and since I really liked how it turned out, I figured I’d share it!
Though Celeste carefully studied the reflection in her vanity mirror, she struggled to recognize the girl looking back at her. They shared similar features-- loose locks of honey brown curls, piercing green eyes, and a small scar that split across their upper lip --but they were not the same. To Celeste, the girl was a stranger; she wore her body and dawned her clothes, yet the girl in the mirror was not a version of Celeste that she was proud of, and it was not a version of herself that she had a say in becoming.
She had sat before her vanity for nearly an hour, doted on by her attendants as they styled her hair and made last-minute alterations to her dress. Never before had Celeste been so still, and as she begrudgingly waited for the nightmare to come to an end, she found herself growing more and more impatient. The idea of an arranged marriage had sat sourly with her since it was first proposed, and although she had known about it for months, the reality of the circumstance was slowly dawning on her. In a week’s time, Celeste was to be married to Prince Kallum of Stoddard, of whom she had never met, and who’s kingdom she couldn’t care less about.
She wanted nothing to do with the marriage, but as the princess of a dying kingdom, she had little say in the matter.
I’ve been toying with the premise of this one for a while, but only wrote it out for that aforementioned assignment; we had to write either a short story or the first chapter of a larger story, and since short stories are the bane of my existence (I never know how to end them,) I went with the latter!
But honestly it was also nice just picking from something I’ve been meaning to tackle instead of scrolling through Pinterest for three hours. I used those three hours to scroll through name websites, so that time was still well spent!
The story hasn’t got a name yet, so I’ve just been calling it The Runaway Princess WIP. It’s a lot more than just that though! It’s dragons, it’s curses, it’s knights gone rogue, and it’s unlikely friendships. I told myself I’d go back to writing more of it, but that also means I’ve got to go back and properly outline it (unless I just write it indulgently, which doesn’t sound that bad either 👀)

30 Days of Hypno - Day 21
Trying to finish my work assignment before the holidays is a pain in the ass, but I’m gonna do it!!
Anywho, you can find the entire list here.
Check my other answers in the #neru’s 30 days of hypno tag on my blog!
Day 21: Storytime: What is your favorite surprising hypnosis experience? (if you haven’t experienced it yet, write a story about the topic)
I guess my favorite is the first time someone ever tried to hypnotize me, but I already wrote about that so I suppose it’s time to come up with a fiction story!
trans male hypnotist, cis male subject, very softcore content below!
I had to sort of rush the ending because I got too wrapped up in writing this and now I need to work some more ahaha
“Have you seen my pendulum, Kallum?”
“Oh, this thing? Here.”
Garret sighed, snatching the pendulum by its plain black chord with a look of playful irritation. “I keep losing track of this thing. Sorry, I know that’s poor form. Where was I?”
Kallum adjusted the pillow behind his back, propping himself against it so his eyes could lock on Garret’s. “Hypnotic negotiations?”
“Oh, right. So we decided on using pendant fixation and like...Conditioning you to have a trance response when you look at it, right?”
“Sounds right.” Kallum raised a hand to play with one of his longer pieces of hair, a usual sign of his hesitation. “I’m nervous. I hope I can be a good subject for you.”
“Of course you will be! We’re totally ready for this.” After a pause, Kallum felt the bed shift underneath him as Garret’s weight was added to it. “You can pull yourself up at any time, Kal. You’re gonna be fine.”
He nodded. “I know. Um...Whenever you’re ready.”
Garret grinned, almost glowing as he finally lifted the pendulum so the crystal at the bottom was directly in Kallum’s line of sight. “This crystal has a magnificent shine to it, don’t you think? It’s dark, but almost looks like it has a galaxy in the center. The deeper you look into it, the easier it is to see.”
Kallum could see his own round face, his green eyes, and the slight pink dusting his pale cheeks just faintly in the crystal’s depths. He knew not to focus on that though, focusing on Garret’s words as he kept staring into the center.
“Very good,” he caught Garret saying, and he couldn’t stop the smile from curving the corner of his lips upwards. “Just keep looking into the center, and...Feel yourself starting to relax.”
Kallum took a slow breath in, then exhaled. He willed the relaxation to flow through him with each slow, careful breath. Garret followed his tempo, both of them breathing slowly. That reassured him a little, but he wasn’t surprised; Garret always wanted to make sure he knew they were both in this together, that he would follow him every step of the way. It was one of the things he adored about him.
“Your eyes are...Getting heavier. It’s getting harder to focus on...Words, or thoughts.” The low timbre of Garret’s voice was so soft, so sensual...Kallum couldn’t recall a time he sounded that way before this moment. That in itself would probably be enough to drop him off the edge, if not for the point of this exercise being eye fixation.
“And soon, you...You won’t be able to k...Keep a thought...In your...Head...”
That smile that had curved on Kallum’s lips grew a little bit wider. “Are you focusing, Garret?”
“Mm? Yeah...Focusing on...The crystal. And my words.”
“Looks like you’re struggling a little, though.” Kallum pulled his gaze away from the pendulum to focus on his boyfriend’s face, the way his eyes were glazing over as his head barely started to dip down. “It’s okay. We’re in this together, remember? Let me take that heavy pendulum for you.”
Garret didn’t protest, merely grunting in affirmation. Even when his hand took his pendant back from his favorite subject, Kallum didn’t hear a single word of protest. Not that he expected one.
“Good boy. And as your hand drops to your side, you can feel your mind plunging with it into the abyss of trance.”
Right on cue, the hand that held the pendant dropped with a limp plop into Garret’s lap, his eyes never leaving the pendant.
Kallum didn’t play with that deep state for long. Besides repeating a few familiar mantras, he quickly counted Garret back up after ensuring he would remember the events of that session.
“Dammit, Kal. Why do you love that trope so much?” The smile betrayed how Garret actually felt about the whole situation as he pulled Kallum in to kiss the crown of his head and nuzzle into his soft hair.
“You’re cute when you try to trance me.”
That key word being “try.”

himbussy (Billy/Kallum)
@himbussy continued from (x)
himbussy:
Tumblr media
it was more than obvious that billy was quickly getting uncomfortable, the red cheeks giving the other away immediately– and even though kallum wasn’t generally the brightest, he was quick to pick up on the signals. a small smirk stretched across the redhead’s lips, purposefully not putting on a shirt and stepping closer to his roommate, standing right in front of him with hands on hips. “what’s the matter, bud?” smirk stretches wider, looking down to make eye contact with billy whenever he could. “your pants gettin’ a lil’ tight?” the jock teased, snorting to himself.
Tumblr media
billy was just trying so hard not to stare at kallum’s firm exposed body, he was sure his neck was going to snap from the strain of forcing himself to look at kallums face... which was also perfect so that did nothing to help. when kallum stepped closer, whatever resolve that billy had broke and his eyes flickered down for a glance and he just felt his entire body tingling as he took in every inch of kallum. “what? they... uh... maybe a little” he said as his eyes flickered back up and just locked with kallum’s. his jeans weren’t just a little tight, there was a full tent growing between his legs that you’d have to be blind to miss “i mean.... not every day you have a muscle hunk of a roomie standing in front of you nearly naked. I doubt i’m the first person who’s gotten a little... tight, in front of you” he bit his bottom lip, almost looking innocent. at least, he would’ve looked innocent were it not for the erection and his gaze occasionally flickering down to just take in that body.

When the Darkness Comes - Chapter 1 - Paragraph 1 - Rough Draft
Feel free to critique what you read below, though blatant hate will be ignored.
Characters: Norvyn, Kallum.
Triggers: guns, blood, scars.
When Norvyn woke up, his mind was empty. He had no memories to reminisce upon. A blank slate.
That's why he was confused when he was forcibly stood up by three men wearing black and holding guns, and why no one would look at him as he was dragged by two of the men, their arms looped under his with nails biting through his clothes, a hoodie, shirt, trousers and trainers one of the nurses had given him, while the other one trailed behind.
He could feel the barrel of the man's gun up against his head. If he hadn't been scared that the man would shoot him if he made even the slightest movement, he'd be shaking.
They wouldn't stop, not even so he could pick up his feet. Now the tips of his trainers dragged against the ground as the men dragged him along. Sweat beads ran down his face and his breaths got louder, but the grip didn't loosen; if anything, it tightened.
He was thrown into a house after a hour of being dragged, and his arms became weak as they stung. After lying on the floor for a couple moments, Norvyn pushed himself up to kneel and then picked himself up to look around the room.
The walls had peeling, scorched wallpaper that had darkened with time. From what he could tell, it had once been salmon with light red roses creating a calming, floral pattern.
Now parts of it were burnt, the roses were coated in soot and smoke and long dried brown blood had dribbled down the wallpaper.
Candles were perched on candlesticks under the peeling wall, the flames lit and singing the edges more, the wax tall and slim.
A knife was piercing the wall, and Norvyn took it out. He didn't seem to have any weapons on himself so a kitchen knife would have to do for now.
Wait. Why did he need a weapon?
"A kitchen knife? Lame."
Norvyn jumped at the voice, swinging the knife to and fro in blind panic, eyes shut.
"Hm. Novice." A kick was delivered to his stomach, sending him back into wall. "But you knew that you'd need a weapon despite remembering nothing. I don't know if that's impressive or depressing."
"Who are you?" Norvyn opened his eyes weakly to see the figure who kicked him.
The person was dressed in red: a light red sleeveless jacket and a dark red long sleeved dress shirt with the collar unbuttoned. The sleeves and cuffs that would usually end at the wrists were rolled up to the elbow. He wore dark red trousers as well that slumped down over his feet, which didn't have shoes on, just red socks that had holes in.
Whoever he was, he really liked red.
His complexion was white, but on the darker side of that spectrum, tan perhaps? His eyes were grey and cold as he scowled down at Norvyn, dirty fingers wrapped around the handle and trigger of a gun, pointed at Norvyn's forehead. They seemed to have a line, a tattoo, running through them, red and dim. The rest of him was blocked by the gun and Norvyn stared down the barrel, shuddering.
"Pl.. please don't shoot me."
The stranger squinted and lowered the gun slowly. "I wouldn't. Your brothers would have me hung." He chuckled. "And anyway, you haven't given me a reason to yet."
As the gun lowered, Norvyn could see his face more clearly. He glanced up at the stranger's spiked locks, lopsided and light brown, that stayed clear of his face but fell on either side of it with tiny strands poking out in all ways.
He had slight stubble, but only around the mouth. Freckles were dotted around his nose and under his eyes and branched out, down and up but not by much. A bloody cut slashed through his skin on his cheek, fresh and oozing. It nearly made Norvyn throw up but he gulped it down. He carried a sword, perhaps, on his back but his gun seemed to be his priority weapon.
"What are you looking at, squirt?" His voice was gruff and low, his narrow eyes darting around Norvyn's body as he spoke, sending shivers down his spine.
"I, um, you?"
"The name's Kallum and I of-... I've been asked to look after you."
"I'm Nor-"
"I know who you are." His tone went from grudgingly friendly to bitter and dark, snapping at Norvyn and gritting his teeth. He ran a hand through his hair, his sleeve falling down and showing cuts and scars at the wrist, closing his eyes and sighing. "I'm sorry I snapped. Now get up. I need to bring you up to speed."
"Up to speed?" Norvyn cocked his head. "On what?"
Kallum chuckled, hand on his face, covering half of it. "Right. On the apocalypse."

Real Kashmir coach Robertson yearning to return home
New Post has been published on https://apzweb.com/real-kashmir-coach-robertson-yearning-to-return-home/
Real Kashmir coach Robertson yearning to return home
David Robertson has faced his fair share of challenges in his three years as head coach of Real Kashmir Football Club, but the latest predicament may be the toughest one yet.
Having endured through the security lock down and communications blackout imposed in Jammu and Kashmir last year, Robertson is now stranded in a Srinagar hotel on account of the ongoing lock down to tackle the coronavirus pandemic threat.
With commercial international flights suspended, Robertson, son Mason (who plays for Real Kashmir FC) and wife Kim are waiting on the United Kingdom government to employ evacuation measures to take them back home to Scotland.
Give support
The Robertson family is particularly worried about David’s mother, who was recently diagnosed with cancer. “My mother, who lives in Aberdeen, just finished her second chemotherapy session. If anything were to happen, it would be just horrible. I want to be close to her — to support her at this tough time. My dad is caring for her, but he is not in the best of health either. My siblings drop off groceries outside their home. It’s a tough situation, all over the world,” Robertson told The Hindu from a Srinagar hotel run by Real Kashmir co-owner Sandeep Chattoo.
“We’ve contacted the British High Commission in New Delhi to help us return home. It could be a few days, few weeks — it is a case of sitting and waiting. We also have (English winger) Kallum Higginbotham, four players from Africa and a few U.K. coaching staff with us here in Srinagar. All foreigners are facing a similar situation,” Robertson, a former Rangers FC and Leeds United player, said.
Tougher to handle
Robertson stated that the latest restrictions have been tougher to handle than the security lock down and communications blackout.
“It is never easy in Jammu and Kashmir. That’s why I keep coming back — there are so many challenges to tackle. Last season was tough (due to the security lockdown and communications blackout), as we did not have internet and could not call home. But at least the team was together, and we could play football,” Robertson said.
Grateful to owner
The 51-year-old is grateful to Chattoo for his support. “Chattoo is staying here with us in the hotel. He is away from his family as well. There are around 20 hotel staff with us here; no one is allowed in and out. We’re all helping each other. There is a lot of responsibility placed on Chattoo. He’s doing everything possible to keep all of us comfortable,” Robertson said.

Exiting Prague Our exit from Prague was only slightly more hair raising than our arrival. We woke early and after a brisk walk around our neighborhood tidied the flat and readied for departure to the train station by arranging for an uber to pick us up. We were in luck as one was only five minutes away. We had received directions to drop the keys in the mail boxes located behind the elevator on the main floor so after riding the elevator down, Kallum suggested I go drop the keys in the box and he would get the luggage outside where we were sure the uber was waiting. I no sooner had dropped the keys in the box than I heard Kallum exclaim, "it's locked! Mom?" Too late the keys had hit the bottom of the mail box and there was no getting in. Kallum tried desperately to open the door, while I channeled my best "mom" calm and examined our options. Kallum, nearly apoplectic, said "we couldn't even make it out of the building....." Long story, short, after knocking on a few very sketchy apartment doors in the building a very friendly young man who still rocked the punk style, helped us out the door. He reported that it was often locked to keep the junkies out. I knew it. Our flat was beautiful, but this is going in trip advisor. Come to Prague if: You desire fantastic and affordable food. To enjoy one of the world's most beautiful cities offering a deep cultural experience that is unique to region. Like outdoor adventure in addition to an urban experience. Do not come if: You do not know how to speak Czech and cannot decipher infographics. Are in a wheelchair or have other mobility issues. Have irritable bowel syndrome because the bathrooms are few and far between and you need exact Czech change.

Book Blurb: He’s the devil. And she’s his wicked game. Book two in the Hollow's Row series. Halen: The night I gave in to Kallum Locke, I sold my soul to the devil. Now that devil has returned for me, a daemon siphoning off what soul I have left. The Harbinger killer has descended on Hollow’s Row amid an active case, where I’ve been hired as a consultant to profile two killers. One offering gruesome sacrifices to obtain an ancient philosophy, and the other a bad omen from my past. A dark truth hovers at the edge of my memories—but is it real, or a trick by the chaos magician himself, meant to trap me in his web of lies and corruption. Kallum is too consuming, his clashing green-and-blue eyes staring into my depths, demanding I feel the frenzy he teased from my soul. I have to escape him. Kallum: I’ve tasted Halen St. James, my muse of heartbreak. I’ve sank my teeth into her tender flesh, lapped at her tears, marked her as mine… So I’ll be damned if I let her go now. Not this time—not when I’m so close to revealing our truth. It’s easy to be tricked when you believe your own lies. And, oh, how my little Halen loves her pretty lies. She’s obsessed with naming me the killer. She’s afraid of me, but I’m not the danger she should fear. The moth is attracted to sweetness—and my little Halen is the sweetest damn thing. Halen needs her big bad villain to protect her. **Full CW list on author website.
Review:
The second book in the trilogy: Kallum has finally gotten a taste of Halen... but now she's running from him. She still doesn't remember what actually happened and his cryptic messages has her questioning her memory. Kallum insists that he isn't the murderer and that he covered for her, that he spent time in jail for her.... and now he's willing to do anything to make sure she remembers what she did and how far he's willing to go for her. Kallum is not going to let her get away, and if that means killing anyone who gets between them, then so be it. Halen is still hunting down the killer that is taking over the town, but it's someone closer to her than she could have ever expected. Danger surrounds Halen yet the only person she can actually trust is the one she knows she shouldn't, Kallum knows her and she's afraid that if she gives in to their relationship, that she'll lose herself... but that's exactly what he wants. Kallum will do anything to protect her, even if it means protecting her from herself. When Halen does get her memories back, what chaos will await her then and what does that mean for her feelings for Kallum. This is the second book in the trilogy and was such a fun one, I can't wait for the third one! Halen gets her memories back and realizes she did kill the Harbinger killer, professor Weston, the rival of Kallum and he covered for her. Devyn, a police officer of the town was the priestess who was killing people and tried to kill Halen but Kallum saved her. Halen and Kallum finally admit their feelings and Halen remembers everything and tells Kallum she's all in and needs his help to find the other Harbinger killer that is working with Devyn.
