jarring realization that i haven't actually haven't done a proper introduction post — no time like the present I suppose?

Anyways you can refer to me as either Poet or Lexi ( or any variation of those two nicknames, Poe, Lex, etc. ). I am nineteen years old ( as of June 2021, because I will no doubt forget to update this as I age so please feel free to do that math ) and go by any pronouns ( although I must ask if we are not close, please stick to she / they ). I'm currently in college pursuing a degree in english, with hopes of being an editor in the future. I've been writing since I was eleven years old and like to think I've gotten pretty good at it. This is my first time posting any work on Tumblr, despite being a reader of stories on here for quite some time.

I am a self-proclaimed "war boy enjoyer" — so you can safely assume I've watched Band of Brothers, The Pacific, and a few different films. Haven't gotten around to Generation Kill quite yet. Outside of period pieces, I enjoy tolkienverse, animanga, and thai dramas primarily. I also play a lot of Dungeons & Dragons and play a lot of video games ( and for all our sakes I am a Gemini, ENXP, and 8w7 ). I’ve got a puppy named Loki who likes to bite my hands to prevent me from writing, and I’m prone to impulse posting AUs at 3am because all of my friends are enablers (affectionate).

My pride and joy, my current focus work is Sad, Beautiful, Tragic, which you can read here on Tumblr and here on AO3. It’s sister work and some extra fun bits are also posted on my AO3. This is such a cute fic with Mechanic!Pidge and Prince!Shiro. Plus the Garrison Trio being awesome friends and Rover is a mechanical dog! AND THERE’S AWESOME AS HECK ART TO GO WITH IT! (Because it was part of a Big Bang). The only thing I’d mention is that it was written Pre-Season 3 so just keep that in mind (it’s not really a big deal though, especially as an AU).

holy. moly. this story has me in a chokehold fr. aims writes so beautifully and i hang on to every word she writes. im in awe of how well she captures each and every scene. i connect to this story so so much. i’ve never felt so heard and understood in my life lol. seriously my favorite series ever. i’ve reread it like 5 times and i’ll still go back and read it. it’s such a place of comfort and feels so safe even though it deals with darker content. like it literally changed my life lol. i can literally go on and on forever but i highly suggest this series, even if you aren’t in the aot fandom.

Kathryn “Kat” Gray: Combat medic. Part of an experimental group of women as combat medics to join the Airborne, assigned to Easy. First appearance in Barren Soul, a multi-chapter fic. Paired with Speirs.

Ruth Kelley: OSS. Works with intelligence and often as a regimental runner. Has also been known to chip in at the aid station, and do whatever needs getting done. Mother hen of the group, second only to Lipton. First appearance in Morning. Paired with Speirs, but in a separate fic universe than Kat Gray.

Anna Cunningham: Sniper, one of the best in the 101st. A huge chip on her shoulder. Small, but smart and cunning, much like her name suggests. First appearance in One Step Closer. Paired with Lieb.

Emma Burns: USO performer sent to the Pacific, though she had an ulterior motive for signing up - to find her brother. First appearance in No Wrong Roads. Paired with Hoosier.

Eileen Sanders: Regimental runner. Stealthy, observant, quiet, but smart as a whip. Landed at Normandy with the gang, but tossed around between companies before ending up with Easy in Haugenau. First appearance in Rumors. No romantic pairing for her (yet).

Lillian: Nurse with the ANC who served at General Hospital Two in Manila First appearance in Beautiful and Wild at Every Turn. Paired with Hoosier.

Julia Martin: Legal assistant who we meet working at the DA’s office with Hoosier after the war. First appearance in this untitled fic, paired with Hoosier.

Elizabeth Parks: War correspondent for the Times. Ends up attached to Easy when she goes AWOL from assignment to look for her brother. First appearance in Inside Source. Paired with Nixon.

Grace Fleming: Army Nurse Corps stationed at Thorpe Abbotts. First appearance in this untitled drabble with our favorite twinkletoes, Rosie Rosenthal.

Eleanor “Ellie” Peters: Daughter of a pub owner near Thorpe Abbotts where many of the fliers spend their days off. Sharp-witted, gentle, and kind, she has a soft spot for our dear Major Egan. First appearance here.

Barren Soul: (Multi-chapter; ongoing - updated 9-14-24) Kathryn Gray feels adrift. Born into a wealthy family, all that’s expected of her in her early twenties is to marry well, but she wants more out of life. When the war begins, she makes the decision to join the Nurse Corps and requests a transfer to the Airborne when it seems like the scales of war are tipping in the wrong direction. Along the way she discovers who she is, how far she can push herself, and what it really means to have a family you choose.

Then and There, the Wind in Your Hair: (technically a sequel to Clouds Overhead) After their meeting in Melbourne, Hoosier writes a few letters, dreams a few dreams, and finds her again after coming home.

So Hang On: Bill acts like he’s annoyed with the world (because he is, he really is), but he can also recognize when the situation calls for some empathy.

No Wrong Roads: Bill can’t stand the quiet anymore. (Post War. Hoosier x OC - Emma)

Beautiful and Wild at Every Turn: Hoosier thinks he’s adjusting alright. But then the most miniscule thing happens to set him back, and it feels like a never-ending cycle. Turns out he’s not the only one. (Hoosier x Lillian)

Untitled: Hoosier becomes a lawyer, and finds a kindred spirit in his new secretary, who he soon learns has more to offer than doing paperwork and fetching coffee. (Hoosier x Julia)

first creation and most recent creation of 2020: god, this feels like ages ago but it was the velvet devil! this wasn’t even a planned fic on my part, but it somehow evolved into the introduction to my shadowfolk universe, which is a universe that i fully plan to continue to explore, and actually do elaborate on further in the next fic i’m gonna mention down below 😂 most recent is untitled. | jjk, which is just a lil thing that i had on the brain one early morning 😂

one of your favorite creations from 2020: definitely without a doubt covenant. my hobifics always have a special place in my heart, and covenant is one that i’ve wanted to write for such a long time (mostly because werewolf!hobi lmao). i originally intended to post it on his birthday, just as i strive to do every year, but this one wound up being two months late. what can i say? the inner perfectionist in me jumped out, ahaha. 

a creation you’re really proud of: is it bad if i say covenant again? LOL. really, anything with ❦ next to it on my masterlist is a fic i’m proud of.

a new style you tried this year and a gifset/fic that uses it: i don’t think i’ve explored any new writing styles this year! had i been answering this last year, though, i would easily be able to say polaris. piecing this fic together took ages, and i literally had physical flashcards that i arranged and rearranged to make sure the chronology was right. 😅 all things considered, i would not write anything like that again, but i’m really happy i didn’t let it fall, unfinished, by the wayside. i’m really quite satisfied with how it turned out. 

a creation that took you forever: LOL. i take months and months to write a single fic. like, what i did this month, putting out both aubade and it takes two, is highly unusual for me. but! to answer the question, clandestine took/is still taking me forever to write. it’s been floating around my brain since 2018, and i’m just now starting to post it after deciding to break it up into chapters, lmao.

your creation from 2020 that received the most notes: LMAO if we exclude this rant post i made about the stimulus bill, then wake up call definitely has garnered the most notes. which.............yeah. that checks out. 😏

a creation you think deserved more notes:  i have to go with apricity! i fell back in love with avatar: the last airbender this year when it was added to netflix, so i just had to write about it.

a new fandom you joined and a creation you made for it: none spring to mind, tbh!

a creation you made that breaks your heart: i’m allergic to sad endings, but one of my favorite pieces that contains angst is crosshairs. i wrote it last year, i think, but i truly loved writing every second of it.

a ‘simple’ creation that you really love: well, if we’re defining “simple” as something that took me next to no time at all, then untitled. | jjk for sure. i was feeling very soft when i woke up that morning, and it shows. 🥺

creation that was inspired by another one: apricity is inspired by both avatar: the last airbender and anastasia! 

a favorite creation created by someone else: oh goodness! i will be the first to admit that i don’t read anywhere near as much as i maybe should, but i do have a rec blog here! all of the fics over there are amazing and wonderful, and i have several more sitting in my drafts waiting to be read. i’m going to try really hard to read more in 2021, but i have this weird thing where i feel almost guilty to be reading when i could be spending that time writing? it’s weird. idk.
