Katie Hale for @kirsicca's Take a Hike Challenge!
Katie was raised by her two homesteader parents on a little ranch on the outskirts of Del Sol. Despite being an only child, and homeschooled, she wasn't secluded from the rest of the world but in fact very encouraged to engage with it. This, and a safe and loving home environment, created an open curiosity for everything, and everyone, around her as well as a cheerful and empathetic young woman. Despite her sense of adventure, Katie's never been outside Del Sol Valley, she even went to university in Del Sol (history student) and then promptly moved into a little apartment in the heart of Del Sol. Looking for a change, as well as an adventure, Katie has signed up for Backpacking Across Simnation in hopes of seeing and experiencing first hand what she's studied all about in her books!
Love this challenge idea! ☀️

I like the idea of Derek becoming a guidance counselor in a high school.
Mr. Hale is one of the best counselors on campus. He listens, and he knows a lot about a lot. He can talk about anything, but sometimes when you talk about Star Wars his eyes get a little sad. Mr. Hale lets kids eat lunch in his office. Mr. Hale will get you a mental healthy day and take you to the paintball park. Mr. Hale sees a kid being bullied and can do a weird thing with his voice to get it to stop.
Mr. Hale is always happy to discuss the hypothetical friend that has a crush on their same-sex friend. Mr. Hale coaches basketball and always emphasizes the fun of the game over winning. Mr. Hale organizes pride events and college fairs and fundraisers and dances. He’ll help you with your math homework as quickly as your poetry homework. He helps the lunch servers for a month when one of them breaks their leg. He waves to all the cars in the parking lot in the morning and again in the evening.
Mr Hale takes his job very seriously. He always tells his students how much he struggled through school, not just academically but emotionally. He explains what he went through, in the most “human equivalent” way possible, and how he still came back from all the “bad” decisions he made.
Like Derek Hale had a shitty teenage-hood. Being a teenager fucking sucks, and he wants to help anyway he can.

LUCY HALE at the Red Sea International Film Festival on December 1st 2022 wearing GIAMBATTISTA VALLI
I really loved both looks that Lucy wore at the Red Sea International Film Festival. I thought the colors of both looks were perfect for her. This green color looked great with her dark hair and the jewelry she wore. I loved the bow detail on the sleeve. A very fun look that really complemented Lucy well.

ROUND 2B, MATCH 6 OUT OF 8!
Propaganda Under the Cut:
Sam:
Best of the early 2000s modern Cinderellas. Not even Disney?! Hillary Duff and Chad Micheal Murray do the whole Cinderella story in High School! Everyone in it is amazing. Sam can wear roller skates and go to a masquerade ball in the same night! And she is exposed as Cinderella which is different from the typical story line where the stepfamily tries to keep her identity hidden. And she makes it rain! In a drought!
So the love interest in this is the worst but Hilary Duff is pretty iconic. The moment that she came out to the dance in the dress and the 2000s pop song is playing… it made my childhood.
She's a classic. She's Hilary Duff. She got a kiss in the rain during drought.
Because she still has the stepmother (and dead father) and step-sisters who treat her horribly and the charming "prince"/football star, but she actually saves herself! As far as I remember, there is no shoe fitting scene, Austin finds out in another way - from emails that Sam's sisters find and spread around school. But Sam stands up to her stepmother after finding a letter (and will) from her father and sorts her life off before getting the guy.
And, to be terribly honest, I've never been a fan of Cinderella stuff, but I did like this film. Probably because of the change to the story and Hilary Duff. And Sam's best friend Carter.
