"Oh, Tsuna." His voice's syrupy sweet, almost cajoling. "This, I did not teach you. No one taught it to you. Are you at peace with the fact it's all you? That it's all coming from you?"

What else is he supposed to be but at peace with it?

KHR reads like a fanfics and I say that in the best way possible.

The hero would he sick on a hospital and his bed neighbor is gonna be one of the villains or antagonist and it'll be funny and chaotic and lighthearted. You'd think it is something made up as filler between canon arcs but no it is real. It's a meaningful event.

Usually the chapters are full of comedy and chaos, but at some points the story starts getting darker between the lines, to the point you cannot ignore it. That's some fucked up mafia shit in there. Human experimentation and war crimes and some grotesque powers that lives you thinking "what changed?!?!?"

The protagonist is being forced to join and lead a mafia family and at firt it is played as "found family" but the story doesn't lie to you doesn't try to erase how fucked up it all is or hide from the protagonist how full of blood his heritage is. In the end he keeps rejecting the idea of becoming a mafia boss! And the mentor promises to keep trying to convince him and train him to be a good leader, but it is not a yes or a no.

Whatever comes after those hard won years of peace and softness, the story doesn't lie and tell it is equally lighthearted. The reader is shown glimpses of that future and even if the characters try to stay goofy and act the same, you see the mess. A sequel wouldn't have the same tone --so it never comes. The story ends where it should end, even if the characters are still growing and changing.

You know how you start certain fanfics and it's all fun and games until it's not? Somehow the fic is now getting a serious plot and you are just waiting for them to go camping and suddenly you have to wait for them to come back from war?

I can wholeheartedly recommend this story for any SVSSS fans, it's very cozy, with lots of worlbuilding and character interaction. It's slowburn af though like I got to ch 478 from 501 and the pairing still hasn't gotten together lmao. So be prepared for massive pining if you want to give it a try.

I think I can read this casually at the moment because 1) it's a reread so I know most of the stuff that's gonna happen 2) this is pretty much pure slice of life so it doesn't take much energy 3) I'm not commenting because have I MENTIONED THE 501 CHAPTERS? I'm not insane thank you very much, I'm just gonna read this for enjoyment.

I love your KHR fanfics and writing style. ‘More than meets the eye’ is one of my favourites and I keep speculating what would happen. I hope you’re doing well in life.

I’m glad! I’ve loved Transformers for years, though trying to write a transformers only fanfic always was a struggle due to the biology terminology tripping me up.

I’m hoping to post another chapter of it soon, but my schedules a mess that leaves me drained of energy physically and emotionally. And there’s nothing worse than trying to write when you’re exhausted or just so not into it that it makes you want to hate it.

I will admit my plot for the fic is…. Wild, but fun! I’ve got the whole thing lined out and some scenes for later in the fic already written but it’s just connecting one scene to another that I’ve put a pause on. And will hopefully get back to when I can.

I know I have a few WIPs (wip=works in progress for those who don’t know) for KHR, and DC, and I hope to one day get them out there too even if I also take a bit to update them. Hopefully, everything smoothes out well and nothing worse (health wise) comes knocking and the lack of stress allows me to no feel as drained.

Maybe in the next month I’ll get ‘More than Meets the Eye’, and ‘Shadow of Myself’ updated. Might try to get ‘If I Try to Find You’ too. Each next chapters ranging 20k at this point.

I'm looking for a KHR fanfic that was deleted on FFN

I was too late to download it and I haven't had any luck finding it on AO3. Was hoping someone could send me a download or knew if it was uploaded to a different site?

Premise is a University AU with the paring All/Tsuna. In the 1st chapter Tsuna as a child is shown meeting with someone (Checker-face maybe?) who asks him if he would rather live in a world where it's acceptable for only him to punch anyone in the face for any reason, or in a world where people would love him. Tsuna picks the latter option, the story continues to him now being at Vongolea University where the characters (I remember it included members of the Arcobaleno, Xanus, Dino, the 10th gen guardians, Shoichi and Byakuran, possibly more) all fall for Tsuna.

It was unfinished and I don't remember the author or the title, unfortunately. If anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it!

I decided to freak out in the middle of it so, wao.

There are, I would say, many differences.

One is that the protagonist, Tsunayoshi, cannot walk. Yeah, he is in a wheelchair.

Honestly, part of this story was created to satisfy my desire to write Tsuna being carried around like a princess. (｀- ε – ´ )

HOWEVER

It's not all flowers and rainbows. I'm going to pour some angst into this story.

Because I want to get a little sad, okie?

BUT

Be warned that the personality of my interpretation of Tsunayoshi is a little different.

But some things remain the same. As:

sometimes I forget how good and sweet and fulfilling fanfics can be but oh my god. Wow. so glad I continued to look through fanfiction.net i've been seeing some rly good gems for khr there ;; reading a dino x haru fic that will absolutely make ur teeth fucking rot and melt i am so in love actually

if u want a sweet couple where it just focuses on their dynamic and makes you love Haru even more? Totally recommend this! (Also I rarely read romance things but like I am melting. I love everything abt Haru and Dino soooo much and I think this author needs some big fucking love <3) It's a collection of loosely connected one shots and one of my favorite chapters from what I'm reading is the Christmas one!

I completely forgot how nice and toasty Christmas chapters can be, and I love how Haru goes all out! >w< she truly is the heart of the Cavallones, and also - I actually learned a few new words from this!!!

also, i just love how this author really does focus on what makes Haru and Dino work so well, despite how slow the progress in their relationship is, every romantic gesture is not summed up in a simple little sentence - it actually does well in expanding why these actions make my little heart want to explode into a thousand corny heart shaped confetti thingys and god. i love how much the others accept her and adore her ;;

Dino also is equally as essential to this shipfic, even if I am fangirling over how well Haru is depicted - I'm so glad we get to see such a loving man out of Dino and how hopelessly in love he is with Haru haha. What a softie!!! Haru is very strongwilled but also it is Dino who ensures that she's able to be herself and they kinda boost each other and its just so god fucking damn ADORABLE I WANT TO EAT MY SOCKS. God.

Seriously if you are into romantic stuff, this is IT. (kyaaa~) also contains some rly good intimate scenes, tho the fic does go on the softer parts. but yeah this fic is so comforting, it's really refreshing to see something so nice like this because it rly does emphasize the love for each other, without making you feel like its all just an obligation to get to X thing thats the standard in a romance ;w; their romance is just so unique to Haru and Dino I rly love this. I need to remember to download this fic....

Hello Momo, thank you for passing by!! About the recovery... the short version is that I couldn't go through with the procedure because doctors refused to perform it on the day it was supposed to happen, since it was elective. So... no recovery was needed, except psychological, haha...

22. I don't! I'm perfectly aware that people who read fanfic mostly want to read about their favorite characters, and that OCs are kind of a niche (at least that's how it was presented to me). The fear of people reading the first chapter and going like "ugh, here's another brainless female OC that's going to join the vongola to learn the values of friendship and all, how boring" sometimes likes to knock on my brain, but I quickly remind myself that:

-Killer Whale is the story I want to tell, and even if it was a story as simple as that it would be worth writing it;

-Since KW is the story I want to tell, I love it. I love these characters, I love how they interact with the canon ones, I love the lore I built up and I love to scream it into the void.

Not everyone will like it, most of the fandom may skip it. But the feedback for it has been overwhelming and the people here on Tumblr as well as those on Discord have been incredibly supportive, how can I not love a story that brought me to meet so many wonderful people?

I obviously worry about being respectful of the topics I might touch, always being open to feedback and to learn more about them, but other than that? It's all fuzzy feelings!

25. Other than writing and drawing, I like playing videogames, mostly farming sims, VNs, monster collectors, coop base builders and the occasional (J)RPGs.

As some may have guessed by my hauls, I'm also a merch/figure/manga collector, though since I need to save up to refurbish my future home at the end of the year I'm only limiting myself to KHR-related stuff right now. I used to collect pokémon cards too, but it's become too demanding of me, so that's paused for now.

When I'm not splurging on fictional mafia men, I'm doing that on model kits! I'm a mess at building gunplas and the like, but it's just too much fun. My goal is one day to be able to approach more realistic kits like war aircrafts and tanks, so I can nurture my love for history as well.

This one is on Ao3 as well. The series is about the 10th Gen plus Tsuyoshi going to a new world to build a life. There's a BNHA and a Pokémon crossover. BNHA is a more Slice of Life Humor while the Pokemon I purely Humor, not quite Crack. Pokemon does have Hibari, though.

Black Sky by Umei no Mei

HPxKHR Starts with FemHP being raised by the Black's before she gets with Xanxus. Fair warning, very long WiP fic. Also, stays with HP for a long time. Comes off with a very Period Piece since Dorea (femHP) was raised by Old People Nobility. Amazing worldbuilding. Everything slots together beautifully, from both fandoms. Also, Dorea is a single mom for a while because of Nono's bitch ass. But she does get to meet Daniella (badass grandma with a crossbow who led the Vongola during WW2, you will adore this character, she hated almost every family decision her son made)! Beautiful communication between Dorea and Xanxus, once they realize there are cultural and personal misunderstandings.

OC's reincarnation was messed up. She ends up replacing Lambo and is aged up. Humorous, she torments Tsuna by being so blase about it all.

After Nono seals Tsuna's Flames, his Intuition goes into overdrive to compensate for the loss, leading to awake but catatonic boy. When Reborn arrives to turn Tsuna into the next boss, he needs to find a way to help Tsuna before anything else can happen. Iemitsu and Nana are parents who are trying their best but don't know what to do to help him. WiP, maybe abandoned. Such sweet Angst, though.

When you are the overworked and underappreciated head of Varia Housekeeping who is sick and tired of cleaning up your employees’ corpses and decide to write up an instruction manual for dealing with Varia's insanity.

Dave has never been able to resist a good mystery, so when one of his informants was suddenly murdered under suspicious circumstances, what else is he supposed to do other than immediately stick his nose into other people's business? This is my crossover with Myell's Killer Whale AU, so if you aren't familiar with her 'verse this story might be a bit confusing, I recommend checking her stuff out first a then coming back to this one. (Shamelessly advertising my Buddy's story again hehehehe)

Unlike the Varia survival guide, this work will hopefully have plot and a coherent story line. I’m still very much in the idea finding phase, so no clue when this is going to be published.

I now have a rough outline for the story, main plot plus romance side plot (I say side plot when the romance outline is much more detailed... *silently despairs*).

My recommendation of the day is Karmic Balance by @sanjuno. Ok, so this is a brilliantly written crack crossover fanfic, in which the basic premise is that Obito and Kakashi get reincarnated into the world of Katekyo Hitman Reborn and end up raising the Vongola Tenth Generation - chaos ensues. Obito and Kakashi, and did I mention that the Vongola Tenth Generation get taught their particular brand of madness? There are 107,724 words and 14 chapters worth of something which is just... chefs kiss. Warnings for some level of violence (as you would expect of a work in those 2 particular fandoms), and essentially most of the basic warnings for KHR - i.e. murder, experimentation on children (not graphic), and references to child abuse. This is a thoroughly enjoyable work which I have reread several times and I have cackled in glee each time, so I absolutely recommend it to anyone who has read even one of these fandoms.

I mean, I can try skhrndjd but I don't promise anything because I have a certain personal taste so yeah. I'll try and also explain why I pick that certain show / movie and what should be looking at while watching. Let's go!

My personal lists of TV shows and movies similar to bnha / mha to watch :

THE INCREDIBLES (Pixar) :

Is it a kids movie? Yes. Has it yet one of the best approaches related to the legal and social issues of living in a world with people who have powers? Absolutely yes.

Should superpowers be legal? It's like people being born with weapons on their bodies. How can you regulate that? But in denying their powers, you're also denying their existences and freedom to be. So how to balance both people without powers and people with powers living together?

If you look at the structures of the movies (yes, both movies are very important), I can argue this piece of media is priceless when talking about superheroes worlds and concepts. Both villains make valid points about how unfair is living as a simple human while people out there have the privilege of powers, and every hero also make valid points at how unfair it is to be unable to be yourself because everyone sees you as a weapon.

As you can see, I'm a super fan of these movies, (bad pun, sorry sorry).

THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY (Netflix) :

Children being raised as soldiers and having to deal with the abuse their adoptive parents made them go through? Does that remind you of something?

I love this show and the implications it brings, including the idea that we're not free and there are beings outside of space and time controlling us and our movements. Once again, the issues with TUA is that a found family is trying very hard to go past their traumas to work together and save the world.

You'll be able to explore the issues that come with having certain powers, the great division between normal people and people with powers and the complications of being a human weapon, even against yourself and the ones you love.

Also, the soundtrack and the way they use it is priceless. I can't wait for the next season!

KATEKYO HITMAN REBORN! (manga) :

If what you're looking is a found family being chaotic together, then feel free to enjoy this manga as much as I do.

The first 20 chapters are just like a fanfic. Characters being idiotic together for no reason, domestic drama, comfort comedy reliefs. The characters are also more basic and shallow, so you don't have to analyze everything they do in order to enjoy it. The conflict is also not that deep, a perfect read to relax and have fun. The ending is very open and not that progressive so this is not something you're about to see for the plot or the character arcs.

HOWEVER God I love this manga. It sounds so silly, but the way they keep things simple really are a perfect beginning when you want to write meta or study the way some characters, situations and context are written. I can point out many similarities between KHR and MHA / BNHA, starting with the main characters and going forward to villains. And yeah, there are some secret jewels you'll have to find on your own.

If you ever read it, write to me. This fandom is almost dead so I can guarantee no drama. Like I said, perfect for de-stressing.

THE BOYS (Amazon Prime) :

Minors, don't ever watch this. It has full violence, gore, sexual content and explicit issues.

This is a show for the ones who know how oppressive and abusive the hero system can be. They are half cops, half celebrities, but even the government needs to be careful when handing this weapons. But what about people who really want to be superheroes? What about the victims of those heroes? What about the heroes being abused and manipulated? What about the people with powers on the streets being used as weapons and entertainments?

If what the League of Villains criticize about the hero system is not clear for someone, they should watch the boys and understand why we can't talk about "heroes being good" and "villains being bad sometimes".

If what you're looking for is a anti-hero found family trying to bring down the system, go for this one, but be careful and look for content warnings for each episode.

The first and the last recommendations are the ones I use when criticizing hero content. You can also check DC and Marvel, of course, but they are pretty famous on their own. If you do, please go check for stories involving mutants or people with powers who have not the same privileges as normal superheroes. They deal with a bunch of real life issues like misogyny, racism, homophobia, xenophobia, etc.

The middle two recommendations are my comfort shows. I'm a sucker for found families being chaotic together. I've re-read the KHR manga at least 6 times and I quote the Hargreaves on a daily basis.
