Realized ive never shared my khux keykid on here before......
So, here he is! Hes my oc interpretation of khux player character. His name is Shay! Second drawing on the left is what he looked like during the events of khx! meanwhile the first image is post keyblade war and onwards.
Shay lost sight in his right eye during the keyblade war, and has several scars from the fights against the foretellers during the war, theyre intentionally hidden by his clothes so you cant really see them.
Shay has always been a bit clumsy, he trips over his feet often even as a younger kid during early khx. (pictured below in a small doodle here) This clumsiness unfortunately got worse due to a newfound lack of depth perception, but he managed to adapt somehow.
Tumblr media
He doesnt really have very many friends, before he met Ephemer, Shay only had Chirithy. As a result he tends to feel pretty lonely most of the time, but it's that same loneliness that pushes him to try and make friends.
Also credits to my friend @ar-mage-ddon 's keykid sou making a cameo in khx era shay art ref. just a fun little "what if they met and were friends"

Waiting, again,
An old snippet from my drafts about Ryou and Ephemera, enjoy!
Tumblr media
Ryou trudged into his room, pulling off his accessories and dumping them unceremoniously onto his dresser. He tugged off his bow tie and vest, trying to kick off his shoes at the same time without falling over. He dropped his vest on the edge of his bed and fell face first into his pillow, one shoe still hanging on his foot but he shook it off and it landed with a dull thud.
He flipped over onto his back, letting out a loud sigh as he closed his eyes. Exhaustion seeped into his bones, making him feel too heavy to move. He had no idea what time it was; his pocket watch was still in his vest and he wasn’t going to get up to check. He knew it was pretty late though, probably nearing the late raid hour.
It was yet another day that seemed to blur into the next. He did his daily missions, checked on his party members, participated in the daytime raids, even bought some new medals, but nighttime was still the same as he waited hour after hour for Ephemera. Again. And he still didn’t show up. Again. And Chirithy had to force him to go home to sleep. Again.
And Ryou was so, so tired. Normally he welcomed such a feeling; it was the feeling of a full, accomplished day-- but not anymore. Now exhaustion followed long, painful days of monotony and loneliness. He was even finding it hard to be cheerful around his party members as the rumors of war continued to surge through town. Not that he cared for such rumors-- or at least that's what he told himself. He had bigger things to worry about like managing his party and waiting for that stupid guy at the fountain.
And now there was also that girl Skuld… he was going to look for Ephemera with her tomorrow.
He closed his eyes, willing himself to focus on sleep despite the swirling thoughts in his head. Maybe he would do his dailies in the morning before he met with Skuld. He could do them after but that might get in the way of waiting for Ephemera… and he didn’t want to risk missing the boy…
He forced his thoughts to stop, slapping his hands over his face and groaning in frustration. He’d be of no use to anyone, least of all Ephemera, if he was still this tired tomorrow.
Here's to another stupid day in the books.

Procrastinating on my KHXWR backgrounds as it is often the case and finalized some old designs. As an Anguis player since 2014 I was sad we didn’t get a pet version of our mascot. So here are my three noodles.

Some More Thoughts on my Avatar in
Kingdom Hearts
She was 11 when she arrived.
She doesn’t remember how she even got here.
only person that wasn’t able to summon
a key blade and was bullied for it but also she was different in a weird way.
Estella was the one who decided to teach her magic to at least give my avatar some self defense.
Soon she became her only friend, her sister (in arms) my avatar also wanted to learn about apothecary since she was interested when Estella explained her expertise of flowers and plants.
She wondered if she can also use them to treat her wounds or even sickness.
Estella is the only one who even takes her to different worlds to help fend against darkness ( call part of training too).
I want her to not only understand the balance of light and dark but also the theme of life and death. After being caught in the crossfire of the war. She felt that she lost a part of herself, she even doesn’t remember everything that happened other than losing her sister and how she felt about it.
Along her journey she realized that yes she can’t go back to what she really was
but is still a part of her as she lost her sister but sill love her and how much she matters, the first to taught to never give up. She experienced the both beauty and ugly of the worlds(the universes) she travelled to and wants to protect it even the ugly that makes life so beautiful, to not leave so much regret and be true to herself, to her feelings ( no longer hiding it) along this journey she taking, she will be the twilight that will move starward,a translucent flower that Luminescent under moonlight.
She isn’t mad of just darkness.
But enraged by the ones who were responsible for the war that she learned In her sister dying breath.
“None should have the right to take someone dreams not even light and dark itself’’.
she worried that she can’t control it, that her strength can hurt someone without meaning to, but eventually she can control it.
She both sense light and dark sort of like a six sense of aura.
Oh and one last thing
She want to help people, her friends/family, to a path they really want to take to still be able to go home.
To look at the stars and sleep under a peaceful night, wake up of a new tomorrow. Then set on a journey again.

DARXOMNIOUS
"What we have longed to see...a World torn apart at the seams."
A Kingdom Hearts OC of mine I've touched upon on here before. Not only the overarching Big Bad of the second story arc of Kingdom Hearts (Divergence) - the Key Of Destiny Chronicle -, Darxomnious is the closest thing to a dark deity this side of Chernabog. Born from when the World was plagued by darkness that arose from all the vices and ill intent in the hearts of men in the period that's got down into legend as the "Keyblade War", Darxomnious is in essence all the darkness from the darkest of all hearts aggregated together and made manifest as a singular entity. In the true history of the World (not the fairy tale), Darxomnious spawned all Darklings into being, with the amount of darkness this begot proving to be the final, back-breaking straw for the old World, which was completely consumed by darkness and left in tattered ruins as Kingdom Hearts faded from it into the darkness, prior to being restored into the Realm of Light with multiple divided worlds we have now thanks to light that survived within the hearts of children. These same children stood up to the darkness, incapacitating them with their light and trapping them within the remains of the ultimate key, locked away in a black box.
And in that box Darxomnious remained until one day Luxu, leading Keyblade Master for the Dandelion Guild unions (a guild started by the children who'd remade the World to keep it protected from the remaining Darklings), foolishly wanted to uncover the secret to restoring lost hearts, so he opened the box with the key materials and let Darxomnious loose upon the realm. This incident led to Luxu going into self exile so that he may right his wrong and find some way to erase Darxomnious from the World for good this time, and to one of the Guild's unions, soon to be known as the Luminous Vanguard, gaining traction through the abolition of Keyblade Mastery. The black box was buried beneath the earth of the world called the Land of Departure, which later became Castle Oblivion. Master Luxu eventually subdued Darxomnious but unabe to slay them, he performed a ritual to seal the dark god deep within the mental space that connects the heart and mind, known as the Dreamscape. But in doing so, the master had tied his and Darxomnious fates together, with him gaining life sustaining power from Darxomnious' darkness at the cost of his mental soundness, and from Luxu did Darxomnious gain full sapience and thinking skills. From deep within their Dreamscape prison, Darxomnious continued to absorb hearts so tainted by darkness that they could not be pulled into Kingdom Hearts by its light, while also keeping Luxu alive for all those years...
...until one year, Luxu's Dreamscape connected with that of the secret guardian Keyblade Master named Xehanort as he delved deep into darkness without his protective armor on, madly pursuing all the answers to all his heart's questions regarding the full history and true nature of the World. In that space within Xehanort's subconscious, a pact was made between the aging man and the deity of darkness, with the assurance that Xehanort's endeavors and legacy would far outlive his own mortality and would be made to serve Darxomnious. So after Xehanort had passed on, once in Heartless form and then in Nobody form, this contract enters play. In KH3D, Xehanort's reborn heart, from the Hollow Replica vessel that had yet to reach completion, projects himself into worlds whose populations have been cast into slumber by Maleficent's sleep magic, skipping from one Dreamscape to another in hopes of finding his master and untethering them from it. When he successfully manages to do so, Darxomnious is now able to completely overtake Luxu's heart and mind in order to use his body as a puppet to initiate and spearhead the Seekers of Darkness movement, in which he and 12 other villains control multiple adversarial entities and initiate as many of those with dark hearts into the movement as they're able to, with not just hearts claimed by their forces but the hearts of the Dark Seekers themselves becoming sacrifices to a mass of distorted void that empowers their footsoldiers. The crux of Darxomnious and Xehanort's master plan is to sacrifice the seven pure hearts of the new Princeses of Heart to the abyss within the Dark Keyhole, and for this as well as the Guardians of Light's fight to rescue them to create a massive distortion from which a Dark X-Blade can be forged, which Darxomnious could then use to open the way to the true Kingdom Hearts and steal the light out from it. Darkness could then once more cover the World and tear it apart at the seams, with the realm being reborn into one in an eternally distorted state where all hearts born to it succumb to darkness, giving Darxomnious unlimited hearts to feast upon forevermore. A sick apocalyptic vision that must never come to pass, which is what sets the stakes for KH3 so damn high.
In the final level(s) of KH3's story, both Luxu and Darxomnious are split back apart in the Final World, but Luxu, having become so crazed and so dependent on Darxomnious’ power for life, beckons the dark ruler back into his heart. Then in Scala Ad Caelum, Darxomnious begins to summon Kingdom Hearts but is interrupted this time by Sora, Donald, and Goofy coming to face him. Luxu's heart is destroyed from the inside by Darxomnious, which transforms Luxu's physical form into one that is half-Darkling much like Anti-Aqua. After fighting him across land, sea, and sky of Scala Ad Caelum, his body is completely destroyed, exposing Darxomnious in their raw form as they flee back to roof of highest tower, just as the light-filled moon of Kingdom Hearts appears in full in the sky above. Xehanort, still positioned on that tower, pleads with Darxomnious to tie themself to his essence, to make him their new vessel. Darxomnious does so without hesitation, merging with Xehanort and then assimilating all Darklings, Heartless, Nobodies, Unversed, and Hollow Replicas in existence into himself, which transforms his form into a fiendish abomination. Using his new power, Darxomnort pulls all the Guardians of Light back into the Final World through the Kingdom Hearts moon, heads towards a giant keyhole symbolizing the inner heart of Kingdom Hearts to suck out all the light and infuse it with darkness. When Sora comes at him for the final showdown, Darxomnort draws all the XIII’s darkness into himself and they manifest as Keyblades around him during the fight. A Super Trinity Attack by Sora, Donald, and Goofy, with extra rear power from Kairi and Riku, is used to take down Darxomnort, blasting the demon backwards into the darkened Kingdom Hearts moon just as it begins to burn out, which disintegrates him into a massive dark void that, if allowed to spread and expand itself, could engulf the entire World. With Sora's Ultimate Keyblade mended thanks to Terra, Aqua, and Ventus' sacrificial move, the Keyblade Graveyard is obliterated as all the ancient Keyblades that had long lost the power they'd had that united with the hearts of their wielders regain power from hearts across all worlds that Sora calls out to for help, with all the blades joining with the Ultimate Keyblade to make the void shrink and implode, obliterating all trace of Darxomnious once and for all.
Some tidbits:
The name "Darxomnious" is something I thought of (it’s pronounced like “Dark’s Omnious”, as in “Darkness Is Everything”, and of course it has to include the "X" in there), but the concept behind it actually has basis in something introduced to KH canon here - the guy calling himself “Darkness” and referring to himself as a plural “we” sparks in the imagination the concept of an entity that’s basically a reigning deity of Darkness made from all the darkest of hearts. It would make far more sense for a literal dark god to be the ultimate Big Bad than an old man who’s just so overpowered, overly knowledgeable, and ridiculously advantaged that he might as well BE a dark god.
The most conveniently OP of all Darxomnious' ability would be to use their darkness to reach out through all time and space in the Kingdom Hearts multiverse in order to grab darkness-filled hearts in a vicegrip and bring them to themself to either absorb or, in the case of the other twelve of the XIII, place them in Hollow Replica vessels.
Much like Chernabog, Darxomnious does not speak in their default form. They only gain a voice through Luxu, who they puppet to deliver their own words in Luxu's voice (Hector Elizondo) but with a faint demonic filter behind it. The wordless sounds Darxomnious does make would be provided by an uncreditted Frank Welker.

who wants to read my entire keykid oc dalia lore dump (it's long but it's interesting i swear)
long story short: this is basically an au where the khux player is already aware of the entire plot of the story in advance, but isn't trying to fight fate- she's trying her best to silently bear it all and shape the world into its intended future. with a few changes because she can't help but be human
backstory: i got into khux late- i just watched the entire cutscene compilation in like two sittings in late 2021, around when i was getting into kh itself. i had started to follow a lot of kh people earlier that year bc they were also twewy fans (i got into twewy in early 2021 right ahead of the twewy renaissance), and they started infecting me with their brainworms. i especially knew a lot about the khux ending (late may/early june 2021 if i remember correctly?) because oh man you guys were LOUD. it was a nuclear bomb meltdown. eventually my curiously was piqued. this is all to say that i had already gotten like partially spoiled on a lot of things, and there was no hiatus for me when watching that massive 5 and a half hour movie. and of course i didn't play the real game myself. meaning, in short, my experience of khux was incredibly different than that of people who actually played the game when it was alive over a series of years.
a couple years later i decided i wanted to create my own keykid oc, bc everyone else had one and i wanted to get in on the hype and be cool etc. but like. it hit different. i was creating a keykid who would never see the light of day in the game bc it was defunct aside from the character creator and the cutscene library. i was making her with the knowledge of her fate, unlike everyone else who was blindsided by their precious children dying (unless you like. called it) she was born after she had already been killed. doomed from the start. and she would never even be able to make friends with others. so i was like screw it what if that was part of her original character lore? what if i incorporated my personal experiences into the meta?
basically my idea with dalia is that she already knows the future she's walking into, and she has from the start. does she have her own innate magical clairvoyance? did she sneak a peek at the book of prophecies? is the future she sees set in stone or does she make it happen? idk i haven't quite worked all that out. but like this is a version of the player who already knows the entire plot of khx/khux, but is either powerless or unwilling to stop it. it's like she already watched it, like a movie. dalia just quietly accepts her fate and carries out the actions she knows she's meant to do because she doesn't believe she has the power to create a better future for herself and others.
as a result of this burdensome knowledge, she's very quiet and reserved. she doesn't want to risk accidentally letting anyone else know what she knows, nor does she want to give off the impression that she's obviously keeping a secret. so she's sort of a stone wall. she finds it hard to let herself get emotionally attached to others, since she knows the world is ending and she herself is gonna die and never see these people again. why go through the effort of trying to be her own person and live her own life? she's just a tool, a sacrifice, who's doomed. (note: i have it in my lore that she is already aware that she is going to reincarnate, but knows absolutely nothing about her next life. other than the assumption that she probably won't see anyone she meets in this one ever again.)
the day she meets ephemer her heart nearly stops because oh man, it's him. this is the start of everything, for one thing, but like... for her relationship with him specifically, she knows they are gonna change each others' lives and that their parting is going to seriously hurt. ephemer immediately clocks that there's something unusual about her and that she knows more than she lets on. she does a bit more talking than she normally would because she already respects him- it comes out as cryptic as you would imagine, but she never mentions anything that would concretely imply that she knows the future he's curious about. he tries to ask what's up with her because he's naturally curious, but she manages to convince him to please trust her intentions and not to pry. ephemer can tell she seems more pained and anxious than suspicious, so he trusts her while also feeling deeply sorry for whatever she's going through. she helps him along on his little conspiracy theory mission as usual- though she can't give him the information he seeks in advance, she has a fun time with him just like in canon.
this version of the player already knows that ephemer can't keep his promise and won't get upset about it, but she still goes to the fountain, for a number of reasons. she feels like it's an act of loyalty to him, even if it only matters to her (aka to no one). and she knows she has to play her role how it's written because of how it affects others. namely, strelitzia. see, dalia knows strelitzia exists (and is stalking her). but she's actively trying to avoid streli, though she would LOVE to go be friends. but she knows she shouldn't mess with fate, or let herself get attached to anyone... it's incredibly painful to her, knowing that her presence at fountain square and continued mini-rebellions are what inspire strelitzia and lead her to want to chase her down, leading the would-be union leader to her own doom... but it's necessary to make the future what it ought to be. who knows what could've happened instead.... maybe this sort of sacrifice was necessary too...
dalia has a lot of respect for skuld- both she and ephemer are great to be around because they've got a lot of energy and confidence that dalia lacks in herself, so it's nice just following their lead. with skuld it's worth noting that dalia is no more aware of her ultimate fate than we as the audience are (because remember, i'm getting meta with it! she only knows what we know at any given moment! when we learn the truth someday, i'll change her lore to fit that. truly changing history.) so she's a bit more comfortable with skuld because she isn't living with crushing and specific knowledge of the future. obv she doesn't tell her anything but like she's ok with getting a tiny bit more attached. bc who knows, even if dalia dies, she's getting reincarnated and there's a sliiiight chance she'll see skuld again. not enough to make her comfortable but enough to give her vague hope. also she knows skuld suffers from loneliness like her, although a different kind.
dalia's experience with infiltrating the tower with skuld is very interesting because she's simultaneously confident (she knows how this is all going down) and terrified (her own personality is still very meek and timid, future knowledge aside). her speech to 'master invi' is obviously a bit different- she's not shocked or afraid by the alleged knowledge of ephemer's death, but she can't let on so easily that she knows the truth in front of either skuld or ava. (note: i have it in my lore that however exactly she knows about the future, the foretellers do not know that she knows. mainly because her reserved personality and refusal to try to change things doesn't really make her show up in the book of prophecies as anything more noteworthy than in canon. she flies under the radar because she's not a threat). similarly to canon player, this is a very defining moment for her as it is far and away the most words she's ever spoken at once, and definitely the most confident. but like she knows it's just a test- she has to defend ephemer and herself, and fake her bravery. canon player was truly willing to fight against the precepts of society and fate in this scene, but dalia is trying to follow fate. she's a nervous wreck who was rehearsing the whole thing all the way up the tower.
the rest of khx plays out mostly like how it would in canon- just with dalia being absolutely full of internal agony at her inability to help skuld or anyone, and knowing she doesn't actually have a choice as to whether to join the dandelions or to fight in the war (or believing she doesn't have a choice, am i right.) at most she declares something like 'i'll see you again, i promise' to skuld with a weird amount of confidence for someone going to war. i would love to see her own version of the internal monologue that player has on the battlefield because it is entirely her, uncensored and unfiltered ('i would love to see', i say, as if i am not the one capable of writing it)
also she is aware of her own impending memory loss- so as a minor act of resistance, i like to imagine she carves some sort of message onto some object just saying like basically. i was here. never forget. don't let this tragedy be glossed over. and leaves it on the battleground somewhere. she loses her memories of the war as usual, but her agonizing knowledge of the future that lies ahead of her at that point remains. she doesn't find her own message, but ephemer does- it torments him and he decides to keep it for and to himself
now the khux part of it is yay yippee wahoo agony!!! player doesn't have that much actual story screentime until the end when stuff really goes down. but the scenes that are present are very good. for example lauriam approaching the player asking about strelitzia... strelitzia, whom dalia knew about and arguably let die... yeah that's. that's a big thing she's got to lie to his face about. and MAN does that suck. (note: her knowledge of the future isn't some updating thing- she just knows the original script, and heaven knows what'll happen if she deviates too hard from it. so it's not like she knows exactly how bad he would blow up at her if he ever found out she lied. but she can use her common sense to figure that one out and don't worry she just has to keep keeping it a secret! easy! not easy.)
see, the way i imagine it in this version of events is that at some point during the incredibly intense canon ending of khux, the secret gets out. there are a few ways this could happen that i haven't decided on yet. one option is i'm thinking like she gets back from her mission in candy kingdom a little earlier than in canon because she's slightly more efficient with it, not realizing that even getting to the scene slightly earlier might change the entire flow of it somehow. seemingly innocent thing is a miscalculation. butterfly effect. at some point the whole lauriam going crazy scene looks very different from the script as she knows it, and she fears that the others won't be able to stop him from hurting them. so she intervenes. (for example skuld begs her to please help the others, dalia in the heat of the moment forgets what she's supposed to do (she isn't even supposed to be there) so she listens, lauriam turns his focus to her, ephemer steps in to protect dalia and gets hurt, ven is in danger, etc). maybe in her panic she just blurts out the truth and starts spouting off things that she should not know, such as ven's innocence, or darkness's plan. this goes very well (lie).
ephemer and skuld are shocked and hurt, but they understand why dalia would feel panicked and shut down in her situation, so they're not mad... brain is mostly silent because he knows her feeling as well (and she knows he has the book, but they haven't like. ever really talked to each other.) to say lauriam is utterly furious (because he was already furious in that moment) is an understatement. similarly to canon he thankfully gets distracted by the darkness emerging from ven. even if dalia is guilty by inaction, the thing that actually killed strelitzia is more pressing. but he has a very hard time respecting her afterwards, even if he doesn't outwardly show rage after that point. i imagine he's just disgusted and refuses to look her in the eye for the rest of their brief time together. that guilt kills her obviously
as for her judgement flaw in intervening, i think it might not only have to be a rational fear that the future has already been changed. i think the intensity of the emotions are also too much for her to bear- even if she had been supposed to be here, or even if things looked normal, there's rehearsing a plan in your head and knowing logically you need to be a bystander, and then there's actually executing it with a straight face in the moment, when people that you accidentally let yourself really start to care about are in pain and need. she let herself be selfish. she tried to let herself be a person with relationships and agency. but of course she was sort of doomed in that sense
in this version ven gets to actually hear about the truth too. i imagine that ven, though he only has a few moments of like. consciousness when dalia is even around, is grateful. he feels incredibly guilty and pained about *gestures to the entirety of his canon story in khux*, and he knows he shouldn't be here. maybe he doesn't have the right to be glad he got to be a union leader and have friends. maybe it's wrong of him to feel like he benefited. but he fears that if dalia had told anyone the truth about him, they'd have treated him differently if not outright kicked him out. he's wrong, of course, bc we see in canon they still care a lot about him (even though the way brain starts talking it's like he does not count ven as a real union leader which is :( but understandable). but from his point of view dalia knew what she was doing as far as letting the future take its course, in a twisted sort of way, and he at least got to be truly happy for once in his life, even if it was only for a moment
the other option is that at some point after arriving to the scene on time (aka in the middle of the fight against darkness when lauriam has already begun to cool off and lock in) she says something she shouldn't know by total accident in a moment of what would have been peace. like 'poor ven i hope he understands it wasn't his fault' or 'i'm sorry about your sister, lauriam' after battle. or something like that. and it's like hey hold up girl how did you know about all that we didn't tell you that yet i thought you were off racing go karts in candy kingdom. she's got her events out of order. they press her (esp lauriam who has let go of his rage toward ventus but still has so much rage inside him and is looking for a new better target) and eventually it comes out that she knew about all this in advance
again. ephemer and skuld are shocked but understand. brain once again is stoic. but lauriam. Lauriam. he is PEEVED. dalia knew what was going to happen to strelitzia and let it happen? yeah... you can imagine how that would go down. enough said. time for lauriam round of rage two! they stop him from like straight up killing her and thankfully he’s already pretty physically and emotionally exhausted. but he is a broken man the entire walk down to the basement. the others do their best to try to defend dalia but he feels like he’s been played for a fool by someone who sees everyone in this world as not a free agent, but rather a pawn for an existing and unchanging narrative (nevermind that she sees herself the same way). but he does at the last second work up the heart finally to ask her if she can see anything else in his or strelitzia’s futures- is it possible to ever see her again? is she alive in some sense? dalia knows his future (part of it) but refuses to say. but she speaks honestly in saying she has no idea where strelitzia’s heart is. this doesn’t comfort him but it doesn’t dull his motivation to find her either
dalia doesn’t say anything to elrena as the pod squad is departing. she knows elrena and strelitzia knew each other and maybe elrena deserves an apology too, but wouldn’t it just be awkward to approach someone she doesn’t know just to say that unless the situation absolutely called for it… she and brain offer each other some words of encouragement. brain can tell she’s looking at him very weirdly, like she’s confused about his fate too. she’d tell him what she knew if he asked, but he clearly doesn’t want to know. so they leave it at that
and then for the ending of dalia’s story. oughghgh…. i think once she’s alone with ephemer and skuld she breaks down in tears and flat out tells them what’s about to happen. because it needs to happen no matter what, its the only way to defeat darkness, but they deserve to have a proper goodbye first unlike what happens in canon… it’s a very emotionally charged scene obviously like she’s telling them she has to pretend to be possessed, and then fight them, and then ephemer has to kill her… you can imagine how devastating this would be. and it’s not even like they have quite that much time to process it all and prepare before the darkness shows up. but at least in this situation they know the truth- ephemer and skuld still have to live with intense trauma and grief, but at least they don’t have to feel guilty too… like hopefully it is a little less psychologically damaging if they know their friend loves them and wanted this to happen all along. maybe. she tells skuld that she doesn’t know what’s in her future but that she has faith that she's strong enough to make it through anything. she tells ephemer that he’s going to have to bear some heavy burdens, but that he will live a long and prosperous life that’s worth being proud of. and she tells them she hopes they can meet again in some form, in some life.
when the scene plays out, it’s a bit different. dalia reins in some of her personal taunts because she doesn’t need to convince ephemer to act this time (plus he knows it’s her and that’s just rude) but neither side can afford to hold back in battle or else the darknesses won’t be convinced enough… dalia is great at hiding her tears (she has to) but ephemer and skuld are obviously absolute messes. it’s both better and worse because on the one hand the sorrow part of knowing what the plan is can be passed off as the sorrow of knowing your friend has been lost to darkness, so they’re great at acting (without really acting). on the other hand instead of the efficiency of shock and adrenaline, as well as falsely believing they have a chance at making things turn out well for them, they are already weepy messes because they know they are locked into this course of action.
again it is an understatement to say it is really hard for ephemer to do what he has to do. he almost can’t do it when he sees dalia risk a last-minute genuine smile at him but we all know he has quite the remarkable resolve. again like it is simultaneously less damaging than the original because he and skuld walk away from the situation knowing that they and dalia did the right thing and were noble heroes who saved the day through their own sacrifices, plus they got to have a proper farewell as friends beforehand, but also more damaging than the original because i feel like it’s easier to convince yourself to kill the friend you already believe to be long gone than the friend who is visibly still herself right in front of you. ough. ephemer goes on to live his life as we know it in canon (which is to say technically we don’t know a lot but y’know. he prospers but is also incredibly sad) and he’s pained yet incredibly grateful for dalia and everything she did. and whatever little memo he picked up from the keyblade graveyard from her, saying to never forget her or what happened, he keeps forever and vows to try to prevent such catastrophes from ever happening again. (we shoehorn ghost ephemer in the graveyard like in kh3 into this)
dalia understood long ago that she was going to die and prepared herself for it in advance. but now she has no idea what her next life is going to look like and that’s scary. up until this point, she’s had a script to follow, albeit a tragic one. so khml (rest in peace) is a very frightening experience for her. at least she has her memories of her past life unlike in canon but who knows what lies in store for her. but it brings her comfort to see ephemer’s statue, it brings her comfort to meet brain (hey they can finally talk now like regular people) (he’s also like DALIA?!), it brings her incredible grief to not see skuld or any sign of her (unless subject x gets disproven in which case. it brings her incredible joy and pride to see that skuld clearly was/is thriving in old scala!), etc. and she makes sure to leave as many personal writings as she can in scala in the hopes that ven, elrena, lauriam, and maybe strelitzia somehow will find them again. she feels she owes them an apology of some sorts.
in conclusion um this is several thousand words dang i had a lot to say apparently i hope you liked reading this. This was just meant to be oc lore but it turned into a whole entire au somehow. maybe i should give it a name. like foreteller of the dandelions or something. idk. will I ever get around to drawing or writing any of these scenes myself who knows! it’s past 2am ok goodnight. check out the other stuff in my oc: dalia tag

May I ask who Vesper is?
Ah!!! Yes!!!!! You absolutely can!!!
Vesper is my "keykid", aka a kh oc vaguely from khux. Their lore is a little,,, not concrete, so it's kinda hard to say much about them, but I love them :333333
The gist of it is they were alive during khx/khux, but did not participate in the keyblade war. They and their friend Lacus ( @maxwellrat) are both immortal "monsters" in humanlike form, though Vesper is more of a werewolf situation. Due to this they can go berserk in battle, and the more berserk, the more inhuman they look! Like our other berserker friend Saïx, they wield a claymore (I actually just stole one of his from Days and called it a day lol). She's meant to be like a very powerful and destructive force of light that burns everything around it.
Vesper's not really afraid of their power, but they restrain themselves nonetheless. They're more afraid of letting it out at the wrong time and hurting someone they love. Out of universe, it's honestly an allegory for parts of neurodivergence! In my personal experience there's times where it feels like something is burning inside me. It's a really intense energy that kind of gets under my skin and usually triggers a Character Moment or a period of intense stimming. And then there are times or places where I have to keep that feeling in check, because I'm in public or whatever. Vesper's power is kind of like that. It's not inherently dangerous, she doesn't lose control of herself, but it's so much raw energy that she keeps it in check, just in case.
To clarify, Vesper isn't a princess of heart! She's not even pure light, just mostly so. She's got a pretty normal heart, the weirdness is everything else :3 You can find them here on my artfight to see their sprite and some epic art people have made of her!!! And I tag posts that make me think of her with "vesper kingdom hearts" if you just wanna look at some silly posts :3

KH OC Week Day 1
Hello! How fun that KH OC Week is finally here! Actually, even though I've known about it since it started, I've never actually taken part in it. But I'm trying it! I'm trying so hard! I've been writing for a very long time, but only started dabbling in KH-related stuff because of @hinataoc. My characters were really originally mostly made to help support her characters and her stories, but the ol' writing bug would bite me every here and there and eventually I started writing little stories and adventures of my own for them. I've got a few now, but this week I think I'll just focus on the two OCs that started this journey for me. So... uh, here we go.
Day 1: Introductions
◾Tell us about your OC!
To start off my first OC Week, I’d like to introduce two of my characters - Velcia and Velcia! …Wait, what?
Yes, I’m afraid that it may seem a bit confusing at first. Both characters share the same name and very similar appearances, but they are in fact very different people! So let me introduce them both and tell you a bit about each one.
Tumblr media
First, credit to the amazing @amyhayanora for the wonderful art of these two for me! She did such a good job of bringing them to life.
Now, to get started! On the left we have the first “Velcia”, who lived in Daybreak Town as a Keyblade Wielder up until the Keyblade War.
KHx-Era Velcia:
Her true name is “Valencia Florere”, but when she arrived in Daybreak Town all alone at the age of 3 years old she was unable to pronounce her own name properly. Nobody in Daybreak Town could have known otherwise, and so her mispronunciation “Velcia” was how she was known. For just this one introduction, I’ll use her ‘real name’, though don’t expect her to recognize it!!
As a toddler, Valencia was rescued from the Lanes Between Worlds by The Master of Masters, who did not deem fit to provide to anyone else an explanation of how she ended up there. Not having the faculty to raise a babbling baby, The Master of Masters created a digital data world modeled after Enchanted Dominion. This snippet of a world was completely devoid of danger, and it was here that Valencia was raised alongside a digital Aurora by the Good Fairies.
Pleasant and peaceful though it was, being raised by digital facsimiles of real people does tend to leave one a little odd, and by time Valencia was old enough to leave this fictional nursery she was quite an odd girl indeed.
Shy, awkward, and almost entirely lacking in social skills, Valencia was nonetheless an aspiring artist who quickly honed her craft as she worked to document as many Wielders and events in Daybreak Town as she could as a sort of reclusive self-styled historian. Her fingers and hands usually have pencil smears on the sides from all her drawing. She does wipe them off constantly, but she’s also drawing constantly so it’s a bit of a self-defeating endeavor.
She doesn’t try to be annoying or obnoxious but has a vague sense that there are things that she does that bother other people that she can’t really seem to change. This leaves her with a bit of a lack of confidence, but she’s always so eager to learn more and add more things to her books she pushes past her awkwardness anyway.
Poor Valencia is terrible at fighting and quite a pushover, who did her best to stick to the periphery and hope nobody would notice her working quickly to sketch them into one of her many books. It wasn’t until she finally met a young man named Balthazar that she was really able to find a stable friend and companion.
Valencia found she had a strong affinity for the World of Olympus, dearly loving everything about it. Of all the Projected Worlds, Olympus was where she spent the most time and as soon as she was able she bought a set of Olympian Robes from the Moogle in Daybreak Town; but stuck to wearing her more familiar boots, pants, and other various accessories. She didn’t know what her true homeworld was supposed to be, but she hoped beyond hope it could be Olympus.
The events leading up to the Keyblade War were nearly as devastating to Valencia as the War itself, and during the war she was struck with what should have been a fatal blow and left for dead - but a very odd thing happened. An unusual Heartless appeared on the battlefield and whisked her away from the chaos, bringing her to Olympus and healing her before ultimately being destroyed.
Now living on the world of her dreams, Valencia eventually managed to put the traumas of her past behind her and start a family. Her now-powerless Keyblade and the name “Velcia” were both passed down through the generations, and each time one “Velcia” passed away the next-born daughter received the name and the heirloom Keyblade, and after some time that brings us to…
KHII-Era Velcia
Velcia Anthes, daughter of Hephestus and Ioanna Anthes, was raised in Thebes as a Potion-Maker and Alchemist by her father after her mother mysteriously vanished when she was two years old. Named after her Keyblade-Wielding Ancestor from her mother’s side, Velcia received the Heirloom Keyblade and grew up hearing stories of wielders from her grandmother and marveling at the tales.
Coming from a family of scholars on her father’s side, Velcia is keenly interested in learning everything she can about the fundamentals of both magic and potion-making; and her devotion to learning magic hit an all-time high after her father and cousin were killed by Vanitas during the events of KH:BBS.
After this, she was taken in by her aunt and uncle who helped her to stay strong and focus on her studies as they worked together to overcome the pain of losing their loved ones. Thanks in no small part to their support and the integrity of her father, Velcia is kind, graceful, and has every bit of the elegance that her KHx-era ancestor lacked; but most of all she is driven and determined to help anybody she can, especially if it means they can avoid the sorts of losses she dealt with growing up.
Thanks to time spent participating in events at the Coliseum when she was younger, Velcia combined her effective if rudimentary physical fighting skills with her growing array of spells to become a competent red mage who was very confident in her magic abilities. In her mid-twenties during the events of KHII, Velcia thought that her life as a potion-maker was perhaps all she would ever be.
One fateful day she meets a visitor from another world named Samantha, and almost the next thing Velcia realizes she’s being asked to come use her magical powers and knowledge to help Sam and Hinata chase down a dangerous Replica called Thaanix. This, it turns out, is only the start of her adventures…
--------
That’s about it for my introductions! I will include answers for both Velcias going forward for the rest of the week, but will likely have more information and pictures posted for the Modern-Era Velcia as I have more stories and art for her. Truth be told, the picture above is really the only proper picture of KHx-Era Velcia I have! Thank you for reading these little bits about my characters, I really hope you’ve enjoyed them.
Anyone who would like to read any of the stories I've written can find them either on my AO3, or on @hinataoc's Fanfiction.net page (which also has a plethora of other very good stories by her that you should check out). Archive of our Own Fanfiction.net
In addition, I have been in the middle of posting a new story about the Modern-Era Velcia called "Return to Eos", with a new chapter posted every weekend. I'm trying to post a little snippet of the chapters here on Tumblr as they go up, so if you are interested you can keep an eye out for those, too. Lastly, thanks very much to the @khoc-week crew (small as it may be this year) for hosting this event. :D

Real, cause they are a “self insert”, its automatically a way to underestimate them and not expect much (but who’s to blame, its will be very hard to get them get a role on the “big screen” of the non mobile games).
And also being overshadowed by OCs, cause they are more fun in a way.
Not that OCs are bad at all, they can get really interesting. My player could also be an OC, but I had most of their character focus on canon events and adding more for what felt missing in the game or shown very little (like the trauma).
But in a way we also just watch the story through them as we can’t make choices that effects the story at all other than choosing union and outfit, so they are very much their own person.
They have their own loneliness and their own self sacrifice issues.
They did things no other character did like fighting 4/5 foretellers, even if they went “easy” on the player. (Aced seemed to really want them gone and going all out on them.)
Or that they have two Chirithy which is a topic that was never explained yet??
There is so much more to learn about them and we barely got anything in khux, I hope missing link will help with that tho. But also cause they are self insert they always get the mysterious lore holes for the players to self insert themselves.
Its feels like it should be “not that deep” but everything about the players just feel important to me.
For example i really I wanna know where they came from before khx/ux, they just came to be and started to fight right away just like in missing link. Did they had life before being a keyblade wielder? What if they died before there too and reincarnated right into khux lore. Its could also just be games mechanics but who knows. No lore for that rn so I just made them one myself in my head with all these theories.
A thing thats always makes me go “!!!”
Is the fact that player have their own Starlight keyblade
Tumblr media
Other character with this keyblade type had or the basic version or the moon version
Its always gives me feelings I can’t explain..
Its like.. player is just “side character” isn’t even official part of the history but they are so unique.
The fact the canonical rusty keyblade in missing link its the one that only the player can have.
Tumblr media
Its also gives comfort, maybe they don’t have canon face or aren’t written in history, but this keyblade, no one else but them had it so far.
Its feeding my headcanons and theories so much hhaaaa
Imagine Brain being able to recognize them just cause the keyblade.
Or the player having a reason to remember their past cause no one ever saw this type of keyblade but they know Starlight is a keyblade type.
Or will this topic be even explored in missing link? In union cross it’s wasn’t really any part of important lore and players could choose different keyblades, but now its really big part of the player’s new journey.. the whole chapter being just about the keyblade. So its would be interesting to see the player or others looking into the keyblade history or what makes this type of keyblade (or the player themself) so special.
And the fact that the moon version was available only in khx and not in union cross, why is that. Does that mean the sun version a post-keybalde war after the player went from hell to back and the only person to be in the battle and survive, which made them have some symbolic connection with the sun?
I am probably thinking too deep into it and it’s doesn’t mean anything but in my khux version that runs in my head 24/7 it’s important.
(My favorite trop is that daybreak trio are the stars moon and sun.
Skuld being the stars, as she literally have them on her outfit. Ephemer the moon with his silver hair, and Player is the sun with their keyblade.
It’s such a cool concept for my brain to play with and makes me giggle.
And cause it’s such a cool friendship trope but also have so many tragedies stories connected to it.)

KH chi saga except Starlight functions like digimon evolution/FF skill tree and is based on which union the keykids has been part of.
