Silver looks around, processing the reality she lives in. She has been meaning to come back the moment she left, yet the years she spent away were still too many than what she would’ve personally preferred. She wants to say nothing has changed, that everything is exactly like how she left it, and— although it holds true on the surface, she knows it no longer runs deep.

Silver recognizes the place she once called home, but she doubts if she still knows it like she used to.

She dares to thread on the familiarity she refuses to let go of. She no longer holds confidence for the fulfillment of his promise, a fault she can’t blame anyone else, but either her stubbornness or desperation fuels her courage to hope nonetheless.

Silver knows the hypocrisy behind hoping without expecting. Yet, for the sake of everything she values, she opts to convince herself to lower any unrecognized expectations she may have.

donghyuk replied: Just tell me when.

She doesn’t expect him to see her inquiry, much less reply. Still, regardless of the fact that he answered seconds after she let her heart win, as if he has been waiting for her signal ever since, she maintains her stance.

She simply can’t afford to feel gravely disappointed. Not when the years she spent away kept on making it more difficult to come back. Not when she barely managed to find a good enough excuse to come back. Especially not when it took everything in her power just to come back.

shieun replied: Twelve hours.

Silver realizes the unfairness of her own thoughts. She herself has changed whilst away, no longer being the same exact person that left, thus she can’t possibly hope for her home to not move on without her.

Hell, she doesn’t even know if her home is still hers.

"How does it feel to be back?" She turns, locking eyes with the personified proof of her life after her plane out of South Korea took off.

"It’s . . . strange." The moment her plane left the runway all those years ago was the same second she realized the actual weight of the bargain she chose. Unwanted isolation is inevitable in the path paved specifically for her, but Lucas couldn’t care any less. "I can’t tell whether things have changed or not. It’s . . ."

He’s her polar opposite, in more ways than one. Amongst other things, his upbringing bestowed him the freedom she still has to fight for. "Just think about the present."

Silver lets out a soundless chuckle. She doesn’t mean to doubt him because she knows he means well, but it’s difficult to focus on the present when she’s simultaneously seeing her past.

Frankly, she doesn’t think she’s ready for whatever is stored for her beyond Incheon International Airport’s perimeter. At this point, everything is years way overdue — and yet, she knows no amount of time could’ve prepared her for anything that’s to come.

Every step she takes — every breath, every thought — brings her back to what once was. The familiarity feels overwhelming, especially with the pain her last memories of her home come with.

"Sorry!" It’s a force of habit, a slip of tongue, an instinct she developed over the years of frequently bumping onto people accidentally — regardless of who is at fault. It takes her a second to realize she isn’t the one to blame and another to notice the language she spoke in. "I’m sorry."

Still, the sudden force of impact isn’t strong enough to completely bring her out of her thoughts. She wonders what her reality will be, with the burden of restrictions and explanations. She wonders if there is really a sort of protection in hoping without expecting.

She wonders if Donghyuk will actually pick her up, as he promised all those years ago.

"Silver, are you okay?" Lucas’ unexpected utterance in Korean, his second language that he rarely uses, surprises her enough to break her trance. "You look like you’re about to cry."

Silver instantaneously becomes hyperaware of everything around her. She can hear planes roaring their engines before taking off; vehicle tires rolling against the ground with each speed; strangers’ feet hitting the pavement as they move around her.

Life continues on, even if she hasn’t. Not really.

She wants to deny the tears she can feel threatening to fall, but she can’t — not when she can tell they’re inevitable. "I—"

She wants to say, "I don’t want to cry," but the rest of her words got stuck in her throat.

Silver has pondered upon the first thing she’ll say if Donghyuk actually fulfills his promise. She has weighted her options for most of the flight’s duration, but eventually disregarded her own just-in-case preparations as an excuse to expect.

Still, she finds irony in how fate has played.

"Silver Seven?" For the figure that bumped onto her happens to be the only person that addresses her as such — which, coincidentally, is the same individual she has been hoping to see before she even boarded the plane.

Just then, Silver’s barely audible "Donghyuk" cues the inevitable.

Yoo Joonghyuk breathed a sigh of relief. He made it. The Regressor had found a way to meet death.

Can I finally rest? There will be no repeating scenarios, watching one by one his comrades die as time goes by, and enduring all sorrow endless times.

Yoo Joonghyuk was really glad. He thought death was an impossibility. More than eighteen hundred rounds of life he had encountered, becoming new realities to live with, causing endless despair at every failure. Not even Joonghyuk succeeded in realizing his wish.

In fact, that hope is not only expected by Yoo Joonghyuk alone.

He yearns in saving Kim Dokja, an anomaly that appears in his third recurring life. That bastard is too pretentious. Sacrificing himself in completing the scenario one last time in order to keep his comrades alive.

Stupid bastard, he thought. Looks like I caught it too. In fact, he also makes the decision that Dokja fears the most during the third round, which is to restart life. Yoo Joonghyuk couldn't accept it. After all the hardships they have been through together, why was Kim Dokja so reckless to sacrifice himself? Of course, they survived…

…physically, not emotionally. Yoo Joonghyuk understood this very well.

He did not know the condition of his friends. After Kim Dokja was completely killed, Yoo Joonghyuk instantly activated the regressor attribute, causing him to be stranded in the fourth round. However, the situation and conditions were different from the start.

Signs of Kim Dokja's life have never been found anymore whenever in the fourth, fifth, sixth… even up to the thousandth round. Even Yoo Joonghyuk honestly knew, that in the next rounds, Kim Dokja would never exist. It's just that a piece of hope in the heart doesn't want to admit it. Yoo Joonghyuk was fed up.

He decided to find a way to bring Kim Dokja back from the dead.

Defrauding the law of death by making an agreement with the Underworld Gods—Hades, Pluto, Anubis, Freya… Yoo Joonghyuk didn't care who it is anymore. The regressor has come to search for Kim Dokja's soul, perhaps left trapped in one of the domains of the God of the Underworld and yet to find the best way to escape. One god after mythology-grade gods is found, annihilating them whenever he did not obtain the desired answer, deafening the ears from the words of truth that are spoken with trepidation.

Hades, followed by Demeter was looking at him with an unreadable expression. Kim Dokja was no longer a successor to the Underworld. They didn't even know that bastard—Joonghyuk alone understood because Kim Dokja never existed. Not giving up, the regressor returns to the God of the Underworld from diverse world mythologies, constantly questioning the existence of his companion, even though it ends in nothing.

Therefore, Yoo Joonghyuk once again made one crucial decision.

He decided to die.

No matter how outlandish it is, Yoo Joonghyuk kept trying. The regressor visited the highest tier constellations countless times, telling them to terminate him as quickly as possible.

[Even when asking for death, you are still arrogant.]

"Just kill me," he said coldly and sharply. "As painful as possible, if you can."

As soon as Joonghyuk blinked, he was already on the next round.

Damnit. His regression attribute was indeed a curse. In fact, Yoo Joonghyuk only wished a thing—seeing his beloved bastard once again. His journey is simply meaningless without the presence of Kim Dokja.

His eyes glanced to the corner of the room; there was a small set of tables and chairs, and… a boy who is hiding under the table.

Yoo Joonghyuk was never good at talking to children.

"…hey." The child doesn't seem conscious. Yoo Joonghyuk walked over. He then crouched down, trying to see the little boy from the small space under the table. The former regressor spoke again. "…hello.

Joonghyuk felt a little bit relieved. He had to ask something.

"What place is this?" he asked bluntly. "Can… can you tell me—please?"

Did he pronounce it correctly? Yoo Joonghyuk hoped he didn't look frightening to him. Kim Dokja always said that his forehead was furrowed all the time, making him look unfriendly. Meanwhile, the master seemed very liked by the children. Shin Yoosung and Lee Gilyoung…they are very attached to Kim Dokja, even quarrelling over a place when sleeping together.

Honestly, Yoo Joonghyuk felt a little envious.

"Who are you?"

As soon as the boy put his long bangs behind his ear, Yoo Joonghyuk balled. He looked back at the familiar face he had been lingering for so long.

"…Kim Dokja."

"How do you know my name?" he asked innocently. "How did you get here? I didn't see you come in through the door."

There's no door here. At least, Yoo Joonghyuk couldn't find it. Suddenly, he was already here, with a small version of Kim Dokja. He was like an apparition with an unfinished business, leading him to little Kim Dokja.

Is he the reincarnation of Kim Dokja?

"I also do not know." After that, they were silent for a while.

Yoo Joonghyuk glanced at the child. The little Kim Dokja is frail, just like the Kim Dokja he met before, but almost always manages to save everyone without exception. Kim Dokja has a thin body, a slim waist, and an annoying expression that never subsides.

One more. These two Kim Dokjas also always had wounds all over their bodies—

—wait a second. Wound?

"Why is your body covered in bruises?" Yoo Joonghyuk asked furiously. Even when Kim Dokja was injured back then, he always gritted his teeth in annoyance. His bitterness then is used to overthrow every perpetrator who manages to slash and cram scratches on his companion's body. Well, Kim Dokja couldn't possibly be aware of what he did. That bastard is dense as hell. Perhaps he just thought he was more likely a thirsty killing machine. "Who did this to you?"

Little Kim Dokja hesitated to answer. Yoo Joonghyuk slowly folded the boy's long sleeves up, and then watched him with discomfort. Who could be so heartless to such a small child?

He suddenly remembered his intention to kill Shin Sooyoung in the third round.

Kim Dokja really changes him.

"It's okay," little Kim Dokja finally spoke. "I'm just a little naughty. So… please don't cry."

Cry? Yoo Joonghyuk was stunned. Is it even possible…

"Your eyes are teary," the child said again. He then spread his arms, moving to hug Yoo Joonghyuk's big body. The master froze. "Everything is alright…"

Either he was crying because he saw the bruises all over the child's body, or he was the one who had found Kim Dokja after countless attempts.

He's really grateful. His arms also moved around the little Kim Dokja, giving him the warmth he had longed for years.

Yoo Joonghyuk couldn't help but smile.

I've finally found you again, Kim Dokja.

Can u tell us what the side characters are doing now? Like jia, angel, donghyuk, the accountant js dated, Mrs Kim, the girl on the spectrum hobi dent to the zoo with. They play such small but significant roles and make ur au really lifelike! I keep wondering about them. <3

Oh, we love this question.

We always say Jia is probably married with children now and still as manipulative towards her husband as she was with Jungkook. She'd have ended up finding someone who put up with her behaviour.

Angel and Jeong-sun drifted apart during the time Yoongi and her were broken up. It was mentioned in Pillow Talk that the last time they went to a club together, Jeong-sun had a one night stand which she didn't enjoy. We think Angel hasn't really settled down with anyone is still sort of casually dating. Jeong-sun never really enjoyed her company that much anyway after university, but in a lot of ways she had outgrown her. We also think her other friends, including burgundy haired girl who had the encounter with Jungkook in the 7 Mins in Heaven game, is also in the same situation as Angel.

We imagine the producers are still working for BTS and perhaps settled down a little bit but ultimately are still a bit crazy every now and again when they have the freedom to go out.

We think the accountant who dated Jeong-sun after she and Yoongi broke up would have found 'the one' shortly after and is settled down now with children, which I guess shows they weren't really a good match anyway because she doesn't have any desire for children. We don't think there's any animosity between them and if they saw each other again they'd be polite and pleasant, but they don't deliberately keep in touch.

Mrs. Kim, who slept with Jungkook before he met Young-soon would have found someone and has had another child with them, so Nana has another student to look forward to in a few years :') She still hasn't realised the guy she slept with (through a wine-haze) is from BTS and not Exo.

Yu-jin, who Hobi was paired with in 7 mins in heaven, has been mentioned a few times in more recent fics by Jeong-sun as they are still friends. She had a job at Beijing zoo but more recently has moved back to Seoul to take up a lecturer post at a university, as mentioned by Jeong-sun in 'Pillow Talk' and again the next day in 'Becoming Exclusive'. She will meet Yoongi again soon and attend their wedding!

Just two years ago I was this eighteen years old girl who was a month away from finishing high school and did not know what to do with her life. I wanted to do everything but at the same time did nothing, until my dad came home with a camera and changed my life forever.

I decided to set the camera up and talk about the make up tricks I used, obviously it was for fun so it was poorly edited. Youtube was starting to get really popular in Korea and me being the chatterbox I am thought it would be nice to just talk about random stuff and in my head only my family and friends would care enough to take a look, but boy was I wrong.

The videos suddently began to gain views and people started subscribing and asking for more and so I did. Looking back at it I am just really proud of putting myself out there because I think that now I would probably be majoring in Law school which was something I did not feel like suited me in any way, but both my parents are lawyers so finding a job wouldn’t be hard.

Now it has been one year since I got accepted into Korea University for visual arts and I love it, it helps me with my videos and gives me enough knowledge to act in several entertainment areas if I want to.

With the success of my channel a lot of brands would send me theirs products and invite me to events and meetings; and at this very moment I have an important meeting with this popular make up brand and I’m already running late.

I left my building in a hurry and decided to stop to get coffee to try and at least make up for my mistake, because unless a miracle happened there was no way I’d get there in time. I entered the caffé close by and felt relieved as no one was in line.

“Iced americanos three, Latte two and Iced tead one” I said a bit out of breath.

As I waited for my order a guy came in wearing a pink hoodie and for some reason his face seemed familiar, but right now I don’t have the time to try and guess from where I know him.

The girl was really taking her time making those drinks and my foot was uncontrolably stamping the floor.

“Here you go, that will be 26.700 KRW” she said nicely.

I gave her thirty and turned in order to leave, but as soon as I did it the guy turned to pay causing us to bump into each other, luckily only our phones fell and we both went down to get it quickly.

“I’m really sorry” I bowed repeatedly as I made my way out.

I caught a cab and just went to the building where the meeting was taking place. The ride took 10 minutes or so and the driver made sure to rip me off, that’s why I don’t take cabs anymore, I paid him and entered the building.

Finally I arrived at the 10th floor and they were all waiting for me.

“I’m really sorry to keep you all waiting, I forgot the meeting was this early” I bowed and honestly felt so embaressed, it made me look unprofessional and I hated it because I always give my best at every single thing I put myself into.

They were very understanding and the coffee may have helped me a bit. As soon as I sat down my phone started ringing and I quickly turned it off to avoid causing more inconvenience to those who were there trying to do their jobs.

The meeting lasted for two hours and after the bumpy start things flowed smoothly. I left the room and turned on my phone, I tried to unlock it but it said my digital wasn’t working so I typed in my password which was also wrong, then, I realize that the background was not the one I use.

“Ah please, don’t tell me this is that guy’s phone” I wimped.

I ran to the front desk and asked the receptionist to use their phone, which she kindly did.

“H-hello” I said quite nervous.

“Yes, wah thank god” The manly voice said. It was weird dialing my own number let alone have someone else pick up.

“Perhaps, are you the guy from the caffé?” I asked politely

“That’s right! Our phones got mixed up when we bumped into each other” He explained even though I already suspected it.

“Ah you’re right” I said.

“I called so many times but you didn’t answer I was bit desperate sorry” He laughed a bit and I believe it was out of relief.

“Sorry about that, I was in a meeting and after seeing the random number I turned it off thinking it was a mistake” I explained.

“So could you please tell me where you are? I can go to you right away to exchange it” he said and I was impressed at how kind he was, if it was somebody else they would be so angry at me, but after all, I didn’t mean to do so.

“S-sure, I’m near yeouido in an office building but I can go to a caffè nearby” I explained.

“Okay, I will call from the random number I did earlier when I get over there, so don’t be afraid to pick up” He kindly said.

I thanked the lady for letting me use the phone and took the elevator. That area was filled with caffès and I definitely should’ve been more specific.

As I passed the stores I thought that maybe I should get him something as an apology.

“Wah you’re going to get poor this way” I said to myself.

I decided I would wait for him at the ‘Audrey Hepbrun caffe’, on my way there I saw this phone accessory store and I had the brilliant idea of getting him a phone case so he would not mix up his phone.

“welcome!” this girl said as I came in the store.

I was looking at the cases when this pink one caught my eyes, it was the same color as his hoodie from earlier, of course it was silly, but it was just a simbolic gift anyway. I picked it out and quickly paid since I had to get to the caffé soon.

I sat near the window and ordered a coffee, I mean I was already there and this day is just a complete mess, only coffee could boast me up for the rest of my schedule. I was calmly sipping my coffee when my phone rang, well, his phone rang.

“Yes?” I picked up.

“Hello, I am at Yeouido, which caffe are you at?” He asked politely.

“The Audrey Hepburn caffe” I explained.

“Ah okay, I will be right there” The way he said make me feel like I was waiting for my blind date and I felt silly for actually thinking that.

The door opened and I noticed the pink hoodie instantly. I raised my hand in order to make him notice me. I noticed he brought a guy with him and found it weird, maybe he thinks I am creep, that made me feel like an idiot for getting a gift, but I am most likely just overthinking it.

“Ah hello, I’m Kim Donghyuk” He bowed after introducing himself.

“Ah, Choi Hye Jin” I stood up and bowed.

He and the guy along with him sat in the chairs in front of me and I handed over his phone and he handed me mine.

“Wah, I was really scared when I couldn’t access it, I thought I would’ve to buy a new one” He said smiling.

“Yes, I didn’t notice because we both have black cases” I said and looked over to the little white bag by my side, maybe I should just keep it.

“Should I buy you another coffee? After all, it was my mistake as well” He suggested after noticing my empty cup

“Ah no, don’t worry” I denied and looked at the bag again.

“I insist” He said and got up to order.

A few minutes later he came back and I gattered the courage to ‘return the favor’.

“Here it is, hot americano, not many people order hot coffee” he laughed.

“Yes...Well, since you bought me coffee I also have something for you” I said while timidly picking up the white bag.

“Oh you shouldn’t have, it wasn’t your fault, seriously” He tried to deny it.

“I insist” I repeated what he said before “Got you” I smilled.

I handed him over the bag and he reached in to get the case.

“Wah, thank you so much, it even matches my hoddiet” He said and bowed in gratitude.

“Ah yes” I didn’t want to say that’s why I got it, but he would probably notice afterwards.

After giving him the gift we all got ready to say goodbye and leave.

“Well, I’ll get going now. Sorry for the trouble” I bowed as we left the caffe.

“Ah no, it’s okay, really” He did the same.

We both waved goodbye and parted ways. I decided to go home because I had a video to edit and some homework to turn in. As I made my way home I had to cross this busy street, the pedestrian signal was red and I looked up to see the music video for that popular song lately, I guess the group is iKon, I saw them on tv last week.

Once I lifted my eyes I felt all the heat in my body go straight to my face because the guy in the music video was the guy I just met like ten minutes ago AND gave him a pink phone case as if I was a casual friend.

The rest of the way was horrible, I kept thinking how dumb I was because I knew who he was, I even recognized him when I first saw him, he also said his name.

I opened my apartment door still in awe at my stupidity, it felt like I had left my soul standing in that sidewalk. He was so kind and nice towards me.

“Wah, you’re really something, seriously” I said as I looked at myself in the mirror.

I changed into my comfortable clothes in order to study and do some editing but I ended up searching his name. It really was him, I feel like I will be part of those funny stories idols tell in variety shows.

After hours of loud music and trying really hard to concentrate I finally finished all my work and could just say goodbye to this cruel reality, yes, I was being dramatic but who cares, I pay my bills so I can overeact this little things.

A/N: So, first of all, I hope you enjoy this “scenario” and yes, there will be a continuation since it’s kind of a series/fic idk what to call it yet…

ALSO, very important, I try to be realistic when writing something, so, given that the characters are korean I wanted to showcase some sort of realness with the “wah” and other ‘slangs’ if you may. I am in no way trying to copy them, just give a more “real life” feel to it!!!

This fic is so well written. There is angst everywhere and it is beautiful. The characterization is amazing and the way the author deals with the subjects in this story is so well done. Definitely recommend giving it a read. Also be sure to send the author lots of love.
