Well. Ok. this is complicated bcos my first impression of him was when I was like. 8? And at that point in time my impression was "holy fuckign shit this guy is the coolest guy in the whole world oh my god hes a fuckign NINJA turtle omg and hes got SWORDS"

Upon rewatching the series a few years ago my impression was a dawning horror that I had literally just grown into his character. the awful realization of "he's just like me fr...." (said in despair). We're the same guy and this isnt a good thing 👍

UH. I rlly like when he actually has moments where he's making a joke or an awful pun or some stupid catchphrase??? He's normally v serious and stoic and crumbling under the weight of responsibility so I really like when hes a goofy little guy. A silly <3 or like along the same lines when he gets excited about Space Heroes !!!! Hes just like me fr !!!!!!

If we're looking for more of a specific moment I rlly love his solo fight scene w the foot and the shredder at the end of s2??? It's SO atmospheric and visceral, and hes just like. fighting in a very feral and violent way ?? Its rlly interesting bcos again hes usually so collected so its neat to see him be able to pull away from that. Also I love the like little details of snow and their breath fogging its great and rlly cool

Idea for a story

I'd love to write or read something focusing around his guilt and/or anger concerning Splinter?? Like obviously Leo looked up to him and idolized him and I'm sure Splinter did love Leo but like. Man.

idk like Splinter put so much responsibility on him at so fuckign young and like. expected so much of him and Leo did his best but still felt like he couldnt live up to the expectations that were given to him. He expected Leo to be ready to DIE for a city that would never know his name or care about him at age 15????????????????

Theres gotta be some resentment there that Leo's gotta sort through and unpack??? Splinter was his hero and i think he's definitely got some right to be angry about what he did, or even what he didn't do. He put Splinter on such a high pedestal and I really think Splinter disappointed him and let him down, and Leo I think needs to come to terms with that in a way. Learn that he doesnt need to be the hero that he doesnt NEED to save everyone that its okay if he screws up. idk. I'd like to see something examining that.

UM i think hes got that autism swag and his special interest is space!!!!!! It definitely bleeds over from and into Space Heroes being his fave show. He can name every constellation and really liked being at the farmhouse bcos the skies were so clear w/o light pollution. i finished hfw's dlc, and i think after that it really solidified my opinion of the horizon series in that if a third game comes out, i'll probably wait for a sale on it.

there's just some distinct difference between the first and second game where it feels like the original is an interesting world, but aloy cant currently focus on it bc she's the only one that knows how to stop the end of the world thats happening due to ghosts from forever ago, but there is content there that just isnt shown. compared to the sequel where it feels like the game can barely talk about its own characters or world or whatever without skipping over things and heavily implying development instead of showing it. i kept hearing how people said the dlc finally gave aloy character, but i dont think so. again, it felt heavily implied, like i skipped all the side quests that further built her character. the dlc especially feels like a ball thrown to people that really wanted aloy to finally be comfortable enough for romance in hfw, but in burning shores she doesnt exactly interact w seyka any more than the hfw side characters, but now says things that sound like shes head over heels, but you dont really feel it at all. when i watched bad end theater, a game with the max playtime of 2 hours, i felt more chemistry between the overlord and maiden than these two. aloy and seyka honestly feel like how i feel with most straight relationships in media. the world also feels too big, the devs claimed its full of life, but its full of machines that are hard to scavenge in this game and theres no real reason to go interacting with them after a certain point, also due to the amount of weapons given in hfw compared to hzd. there's rarely characters or groups, the characters that do interact are immediately forgettable, the quests all end up being the same type ("hi please help me find my lost friend" with a 50/50 chance theyre dead). the customization for face paint and clothes arent that unique (and kind of ugly) while being hard to get, the new machine mounts are kinda disappointing, the new machines for the dlc werent as good as The Frozen Wilds's, and more i probably cant remember. i think i didnt like the plot and did my best to ignore it, too, lol. hfw was just too much of the wrong stuff in the wrong direction, to me. hzd was a sci-fi post post apocalyptic game where aloy has to contend with being one of the only people that can stop an ancient self destruction caused by people ages ago, and then hfw just goes hard on literally showing u these evil rich guys that apparently came down from space and are ~super advanced~. it's just weird and felt like it had none of what i liked abt hzd... i have no clue what happened, but it feels weird. wish it was just a game abt ppl living in a new world that happens to have robot dinosaurs to nurture the planet.

- i actually liked drew. im so sorry to everyone who hates her but full offence, why. think about it this way ok, first of all drew became hc because silena died. silena was the traitor, the one who betrayed chb, yet after she died campers celebrated her as a hero? and then drew suddenly has to replace her and live up to idk that legacy she left behind,, when all of a sudden this girl named piper swoops in and takes her place. idk abt u but i wld be salty abt that too. not only that, but as an asian, the chances of drew having faced racism/bullying as a child is pretty high (she studies at brooklyn academy). which means that when she finds out shes a demigod, and arrives at chb where most of the campers are white (this is an assumption btw), she’d obviously be scared of being bullied for her skin color right?? so the first thing she wld do before the campers get to bully her is to bully them before they can do so. - travis and connor stoll r way too underrated. the two have been head counselors of the hermes cabin since luke was revealed as a traitor, can u imagine the stress? luke, the person they probably looked up to as a brother, betrayed them. and they didnt even have time to process this when they were  thrown the roles of being hcs. that would have been so stressful and i would probably have broken down if i were them. the stoll brothers taking turns to wake up at ungodly hours because a new camper is crying and homesick and terrified, the stoll brothers having to comfort and take care of new campers, having to deal with the amount of people in that cramped space because not enough campers are being claimed fast enough. having to resolve issues between campers in the hermes cabin all the time. the stolls arent just comedic relief, and we need to stop treating them as such

- annabeth isnt smarter than leo but neither is leo smarter than annabeth. ive seen a lot of discussions about who is smarter and heres my hot take on it: neither. theyre equally smart, just in different ways. leos a genius mathematically speaking. he has no issues solving math problems meant for people much, much older than him. annabeth on the otherhand, is great at strategies etc. she can make an army of 1000 more powerful than the enemy, even if theyre outnumbered. so in my opinion, both are equally as smart//u cant compare their intelligence, because their talents lie in two different areas.

- while i do agree rick riordan isnt a god and that hes bound to make mistakes,, AND that hes given us a lot of representation,, if the representation offends the people its sposed to represent, then theres a problem. im talking about piper as a poc and wearing feathers in her hair. im not a poc, so i cant speak for them on whether or not its wrong, because i dont know either. HOWEVER, i have seen multiple posts BY pocs talking about how they didnt really like rick’s representation of piper, and thats an issue. pocs have been and are still oppressed and discriminated against by many. as a white cis man, we cant really blame him for not knowing (tho he could have done a research,, asked some pocs,, idk), but by representing pocs in that manner, hes influencing impressionable kids/teens into thinking “oh pocs wear feathers in their hair all the time” etc, which isnt true. the pjo/hoo series is extremely successful, and kids who read the books will probably start forming inaccurate opinions on pocs. the amount of fan art that depicts piper with feathers in her hair dont help either. “but rick said so in the books, so its canon” yeah well rick isnt a god and he can get some things wrong at times. im not saying we should cancel him, im saying we should start educating ourselves and not spread false info like pocs wearing feathers in their hair all the time. also that snake song shit where she sang Summertime was just- yeah. bc heres the thing you can be racist, and still include minorities, but portray them in a racist way. And even then, ignorance isn't a thing to admire. Getting those facts wrong still has a major impact. It continues to perpetuate racist stereotypes.

- piper would have been a great way for him to start making the strong characters act girlier, but instead he went with the “I’m not like other girls” trope which is quite obnoxious to hear constantly, and I don’t think it’s necessarily great for younger girls to read that idea growing up.  the closest we've ever had to a strong female character who was also into "girly" things was Silena. when I was younger I admired Piper's "I'm not like other girls" thing, but then I got older and realized that the whole mentality of "not like other girls" is super obnoxious, and a little bit toxic

Smell : yoongi definitely smells like,, is books the right word??? He smells like parchment and sometimes when he gets ink on his hands when he’s doing assignments, he smells like a freshly printed book. But it definitely isnt an old dusty book — it’s like a book with pages that are still warm and ink that’s still a little wet

Favorite smell : he’s very comforted by the smell of the lake,,, he and y/n spent so much time there over the years just complaining and feeding the giant squid that whenever he’s by the lake or even by a window that faces the lake, he feels like he’s safe and okay, and that’s really rare for him. He also likes the smell of the hospital wing?? He’s always in and out of there, getting stitched up and scolded about his bad behaviors that it’s become a really familiar space for him, and even though the reasons for being there arent great, he doesnt mind the smell [hes convinced that he and madam pomfrey are lowkey friends]

Pajamas : theres something about him that just screams “matching silk pajama set” and honestly theres probably one of those old timey sleep caps thrown in there because hes a big dork. He likes order and everything has its place and its style, and he definitely owns a set of dark green silk pajamas because of who he is as a person

Fave ship : so a really cute thing about y/n and yoongi leading up to their relationship was their habit of going to the lake. They actually met for the first time at the lake, in the middle of the night right around the start of october, and they made it a mission of theirs to take a walk there at least once a term,,, which turned into twice a term, which turned into once a month, and then once a week, and by the time they started dating they were going every night. It was a place where they could just relax and stop being on guard about the people around them because there was no one around to hear them rant about their lives and the things that were closer to their hearts. It was also a place where theyd bandage each other up after rough run-ins with other people — one fun memory for y/n was having to clean up a gash on yoongis forehead and getting the once in a lifetime opportunity to tie his hair up in a little apple stem so it was out of her way [she has the photo saved on every device and backup device she can think of]

📃 - OK SO. without like, spoiling too many plot points, our main character is cara and she lives with her grandmother. her mom is dead and dad is out of the picture. one day theyre getting chased by these people that her grandma knows and cara gets thrown into an alternate realm full of fantasy creatures using her grandmothers amulet. she meets a unicorn named lightfoot and a bunch of other rad people and basically, starts a journey to save that world from the Hunters. the Hunters are an organisation who specifically hate unicorns and want them all dead, led by Beloved, and cara and her friends have to try and stop them from entering the world and wiping them out. its sooo so so good and i highly recommend it cause i have no one to talk to about it please god

unicorn chronicles: i loved unicorns as a kid and read it when i was in elementary school, and over the years its remained just as compelling and well written as i remember and like. god the whole concept is so godamn cool and all the subplots that get introduced are fuckign fantastic and like all the different creatures are amazing i literally cant sing its praises enough

howls moving castle: must i have a logical reason? is it not to vicariously live my fantasy of running away to the countryside with a wizard boyfriend, his demon and his apprentice?? for real though, its such a fantastic story with beautiful visuals in the movie and wonderfully compelling prose in the book, and esp in the movie the whole time travel subplot with sophie seeing howl and calcifer in the past and then howl finding her in the future makes me go feral

penumbra: gays in space. need i say more? im a huge slut for gay found family and especially in futuristic space, and im a huge big fan of the lgbt utopia its created. like yeah capitalism sucks but at least im not gonne get misgendered in space starbucks, u kno? all the writing and dialogue is so incredible and the SOUND DESIGN GOD, alex i know u specifically can relate when i say i would kill a man for sophie and her incredible sound design skills, like dude the dance scene in man in glass p2 you can hear every single individual step they take and every swish of junos dress and i jusT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! god its so good, plus the whole the characters help me work through my trauma and repressed anger haha

911: this one is entirely your fault. so obligatory horny on main everyone on that show is so hot i want oliver stark to cradle me gently in his beefy arms oh my god. other than Men, the way it drives home the whole ‘you can’t save everyone, and it will kill you to try, so just focus on what you can do and keep living’ makes me so emo. the way it tackles big bureaucratic issues as well as closer to home interpersonal ones is amazing and i love how it shows people going through and dealing realistically with trauma.

treasure planet: again, who doesnt want to live in Cool Steampunk Space Travel Future? i really really love jims story and his arc, the way he deals with his trauma is uhh very familiar lol and his relationship with silver is like the ideal. the story is just the coolest concept and i love all the wonderful character design and animation, plus the soundtrack SLAPS and everything is beautiful

legend of zelda: ive been associated with this series from a very young age due to my name and as soon as i gave into my fate and looked it up for real i just kinda fell into it lol. i cant really tell you exactly what draws me to it besides ‘wow fun game!’ and ‘god i wish that were me,’ but like the absurd amount of detail thats put into each installment and the creative ways they retell essentially the same/similar story over and over is incredible

guardians of gahoole: so i had the same experience with this and treasure planet which is i remembered ‘oh hey this is a movie that exists and i cant clearly remember watching it, ill look it up :)’ and then it consumed my life for a solid 3 months. firstly this movie is absolutely gorgeous, the animation and framing is fucking stunning and the way they handled owls talking like people as far as the movement of their very inflexible beaks was amazing. it sort of has the same draw for me as warrior cats? secret animal society ft incredibly traumatic experiences and the characters dealing with it. like, the whole concept is just so fuckign wild and it works so well, i rly enjoy this niche genre.

💎 - alright trivia time, so guardians of gahoole is based on a book series and the movie only covers part of the first arc i think idk, BUT theres another series set in the same universe called wolves of the beyond that i devoured when i was younger! i didnt know they were connected for the longest time and when i found out i was :000, i still rly love wolves of the beyond and wanna reread it, as well as read the actual gahoole books. in the howls books, sophie is a redhead! also, markl is named michael and like a fully functioning young adult who ends up marrying one of sophies sisters. treasure planet is, obviously, based off treasure island but its so much better than the book dont bother reading it lol i tried and it was boring. there was plans for a treasure planet sequel that was fully scripted and cast but it was cancelled cause disney sabotaged treasure planet from the start with the shitty release and advertising and tldr we were ROBBED, also amelias concept was much more octopus like and while that wldve been rad im p glad she was switched to a cat for. several reasons lol. uhh i dont have a lot of Fun Facts abt the unicorn chronicles but for the longest time i thought there were only 3 books and then last year i found the fourth book by chance in a kitsch store and nearly had a breakdown i was so happy, like full on i started shaking and crying cause there was so much joy in my body i cldnt contain it.
