Peter Cushing as THE ULTIMATE Phantom of the Opera.
I will die on this hill. Can you even imagine how amazing he would have been as my fav opera ghost?
Tumblr media
Peter's own watercolor sketches for costumes in one of his films.
Cushing has this ability to play 100% evil, complicated, morally grey, broken, heartbreaking characters, especially villains.
I honestly believe he would have been the best Leroux Erik -- Manic/depressive, genius, loving, mysterious, haunted, traumatized, romantic, dangerous, sarcastic and funny as hell (see his passive aggressive Holmes).
He would have knocked Leroux's Erik out of the damn park.

Literally the perfect actor for this role. We have been robbed of such an iconic performance.

Back in 1980, legendary actor Vincent Price recorded several 30-second television announcements in a bid by the Albuquerque Museum to gain more visitors and members. In an interview with the Albuquerque Journal at the time, Price said, “I am crazy about New Mexico. If I had lots of money, I would like to have a house like Georgia O'Keeffe's here.” Price served on the Arts and Crafts Board of the Interior Department and had a doctorate from the California College of Arts and Crafts.
Digging through our archives, we uncovered this fabulous promo video promoting the Albuquerque Museum Foundation—a non-profit that raises funds for the Albuquerque Museum. You can learn more about us, and as the King of Horror suggests, support us!

Happy Halloween season! Here's another stab at my own take of Carrie White, based on her book description. I'm super happy with how these turned out! I'd love to tackle some of the other characters in the book eventually, especially Margaret!

Now available as an art print here!
