Something changed with the crit stats and I seem to crit in every round??? Is this something totally new or the new changes, by “new” meaning the ones that took place in 2020?!

I was playing in the European servers ran by Gameforge, which had fallen extremely behind with updates and upgrades (i.e Still no Karamelle until May when the European servers shut down!) I was transferred to the KingIsle servers in May, like all European players. However, I saw no change, except a rise in the subscription fee that made me mad.

Few days ago, my subscription was not automatically renewed by them and when I renewed it, the fee had returned to the European cost. And now I also see my crit stats being changed. I am really confused but not complaining. Provided that this is indeed the new crit system, I was finally able to solo Rasputin (death).

All this time I would crit occasionally and Rasputin would block me almost every time, making this battle simply impossible.

The Rat (Rasputin) Death Solo Level 117

I am sick of those YouTubing wizards that are Level 150 and they make pointless videos boasting how they soloed a 110 level boss or something. Others boast they soloed it when they had gear they paid a shitload of crowns for or they had friends taking them to farm Darkmoor and other higher bosses. None of that is useful for the wizard who tries to make it through the storyline for the first time, who doesn’t want to make KingIsle even richer than it is and who wants to solo because they are too old or too sensible or too impatient to deal with the frequent nonsense of team-ups. In short, one like me.

So here’s how to defeat Rasputin as a death wizard on the respective level without any crazy gear.

The one thing you need to care about in your gear is to have enough crit rating in order to crit every time. That’s the only stat that matters.

If your gear has >20% pierce, then it’s all good. If not, like me, your first spell must ALWAYS be Age of Reckoning. Keep some more of them in your deck in case a minion casts another global spell and you need to recast. But if you follow my steps, you won’t really get many or any minions.

Your wand must have death or shadow wand spells for potential minions which you must kill in the first round.

Go full with vampires and ghouls. Add all you have in your deck. Obviously with sun damage boost spells.

No traps, no feints, no shields, no blades, nothing that will waste you time.

You will only help yourself with an aura spell. Virulence. Add 5 of them in your deck. These will give you more damage and pips to be able to cast Vampire frequently enough.

Following these, you should be able to kill the Rat around the 27-29 round. Just in time.

I don’t know if there are W101 players in need of this here but hope it helps someone out there!

honestly swear to god.. on my life i think it took at least 300 attempts. no hyperbole. I get home from work i put on a podcast or a youtube video i split my screen i refine my deck and i fight and die in that stupid dungeon instance. in the game for kids under 13........ the indignity. every day for at least a month. and then i give up and go to sleep and go back to work. i truly am in disbelief. why is this the one dungeon where the minion doesn't die and stay dead if you re-enter the dungeon instance? why does he respawn even after you kill him in JUST this fight? like this boss's set of cheats don't make the fight hard enough? what's the matter with you kingisle people. why

battle of the spheres was unreasonable but i got it done. morganthe in zafaria was unreasonable but i got it done. THIS? beyond the pale. what is the matter with you. where is your respect for kids who are just chilling playing alone in their freetime. why is this fight 99.99999% impossible without teaming up? how dare you. i have been playing this game alone ever since my cooler better at gaming brother refused to associate with me back in the third grade... decades plural. and you have the audacity to try to force me to abandon soloing in 2023. how very dare you. i will never submit. i will never concede. necromancy til i die. i will beat this game and i will do it alone. you can keep adding worlds. i will keep crushing quests all by my god damn self out of, at this point, pure spite.

Once again someone puts a post on my dash that reminds me just how unsubtle Kingisle's shitting on the British is. Like, you have to help the dogs constantly, you rarely have a choice, but KI doesn't even venture into the vicinity of subtlety with their message of "Fuck these fucking colonizers".

Can I just say how frustrating it is that you cannot select non-binary as a gender option in wizard101? Like, it's been so many years, and they STILL have not added an enby option to things. I am constantly misgendered and have had people reach out to me outside of wiz101 and be like, "I thought you were [insert gender here] because of your character-" and it is genuinely SO frustrating. I wish KingIsle would allow for a non-binary option. 😮‍💨

okay but like what's the ravenwood academy system like? term, quarter, or semester system? ap classes? do they have an ib system? honors perhaps? what does their homework look like? do they do it on scrolls? do they have written finals? do they write papers? do they do presentations? do they have grade levels/years? what happens if you fail a class? are all students required to learn more than one type of magic? electives? the students seriously don't have roommates? can i have pets in my dorm? are there parties? do they learn math? who teaches things like that? bro where are there parents? where do they go when school is over?
