Mei-chan no Shitsuji (Hoshigumi 2011) subs
AT LAST. between travel, wedding planning, and covid, this kind of fell by the wayside for a bit, but IT'S DONE. my first two act!!!
first of all, wow, otoha minori is great. that could be my entire translation notes. she's so cute. all the musumeyaku in this show are so cute. and the otokoyaku are just as good!! we have suave ikemen beni, loudmouth osananajimi miyaruri, and villain yurika, please, i am a simple creature, act 2 was so hard to sub because i kept blushing. plus, tiny baby kiki and coto! i didn't actually watch this show in full before i started my sub, and wanting to know what happens next was SUCH a motivator, lol. if you're familiar with the manga, it's pretty close except for some things left out or rearranged; if you're familiar with the drama, it is QUITE different. tl;dr this show is SO MUCH FUN, and if you like tropey 00s shoujo it is not to be missed.
TL notes:
yamada tami. all of her lines switch between several regional dialects, so i just kind of..... went ham ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i do not believe in localizing honorifics when a story's set in japan, so. pretend you're all reading manga in 2004 with the little vocab guide in the back cover! i DID translate ojousama, because it's like, half the dialogue, and "my lady" felt romantic.
there's a line about "demon hunting" re: shinobu, which makes sense in the manga where he's referred to as the "white demon" - this got dropped from the script, so i localized it out.
timed to: the bluray, recorded 2/21/11
check my shows page (zungumi dot tumblr dot com slash shows) for the DL!

[TRIVIA] Live Spectacle NARUTO: Getting to Know Sato Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) in the "Live Spectacle NARUTO" (Part 01)
Compiled from the Twitter thread: HERE
Sato Ryuji’s Official Accounts
Personal Twitter: @ryuji7117
Official Staff Twitter: @satoryujiST
Personal IG: ryuji_japan
Blog: https://ameblo.jp/ryuji7117/
FANSITE: https://sato-ryuji.com
NOTE: He doesn't have a Weibo account.
1. Ryuji has played Sasuke since 2015. He, along with Ito Yui (Haruno Sakura) and Kimisawa Yuki (Hatake Kakashi), are the members in the current cast who have been with the "Live Spectacle NARUTO" (Narusute) since the beginning.
2. Ryuji's audition for Narusute was nine hours long.
3. Before auditions, Ryuji asked Matsuoka Koudai (Uzumaki Naruto) to teach him acrobatics (likely because Koudai had done acrobatics during "Musical The Prince of Tennis" (Tenimyu), but neither one of them knew that they were auditioning for the same production until they met at the Narusute auditions.
4. Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke), Koudai (Uzumaki Naruto) and Kimi-chan (Hatake Kakashi) were in Tenimyu in 2013/2014. Then, they were cast in Narusute as Team 7.
Tumblr media
5. Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) was inspired to enter the entertainment world by Suga Kenta (Gaara).
6. During the final round of Narusute auditions, Ryuji, Kenta and an unnamed actor competed for the roles of Sasuke and Gaara. Both Ryuji and Kenta read for both Sasuke and Gaara.
7. In an interview during the "Live Spectacle NARUTO (Narusute) ~Uzumaki Naruto Monogatari~" (2021), Ryuji said that Uchiha Sasuke has become something like "his other self". He also said that he and Sasuke have a similar personality, and that he can empathise with Sasuke.
8. Fujita Ray (Yamato / Tenzou) about Ryuji's passion for 2.5D, which he experienced when they co-starred together in the "Live Spectacle NARUTO (Narusute) ~Akatsuki no Shirabe~" (2017):
Tumblr media
9. Ryuji does his own makeup for Uchiha Sasuke.
10. When Nakao Masaki (Uzumaki Naruto) joined the cast, Ryuji was the only one of Team 7 who knew Nakao-kun before Narusute. He and Nakao-kun have known each other for longer than even Ryuji and Kimi-chan (Hatake Kakashi).
11. Ryuji and Kitazono Ryo (Namikaze Minato) are close friends who have known each other since 2015. According to Ryo, "Ryuji is the person I’m [he] closest to, so I think [it would be nice] if we [they] are able to remain in such a relationship." Ryo has also said this:
Tumblr media
12. When Narusute transitioned into a new phase with Nakao-kun taking over the role of Uzumaki Naruto and responsibility of new company leader from Koudai, Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) supported him by helping him to pull the company along.
Ryuji was also featured in major promotions with Nakao-kun (Uzumaki Naruto) and Ryo (Namikaze Minato) for the "Live Spectacle NARUTO (Narusute) ~Uzumaki Naruto Monogatari~" (2021).
In the "Live Spectacle NARUTO (Narusute) ~Ninkai Taisen, Kaisen~" (2022), Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) was given the honour of leading the final bow alongside Nakao-kun.
13. When talking about Ryuji in the "Live Spectacle NARUTO (Narusute) ~Ninkai Taisen, Kaisen~" (2022), Naya Takeru (Gaara) called Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) the "King of Narusute" and said, "It is thanks to Ryuji and the others from the first performance that it [the production has connected to the current performance, and I am able to meet with it."
Naya-kun also referred to Uchiha Sasuke (Ryuji) as "the other main character who is a pair with Naruto".
NOTE: Others from the first Narusute are Yui (Haruno Sakura) and Kimi-chan (Hatake Kakashi).
14. In an interview during the "Live Spectacle NARUTO ~Uzumaki Naruto Monogatari~" (2021), Kodama Akiko (director for Narusute) talked about how, no matter how tough the action stunts were and how much he struggled with them, Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) would never complain.
She added that, if she was an actor, she might have said no to all these things that have nothing to do with acting, like the aerial performance that Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) had to do in the "Live Spectacle NARUTO" (Narusute) 2015/2016. But, Ryuji never said no.
To quote Kodama-san, "It's likely because he thinks that it [the stunts] are necessary for the production, necessary in expressing the character of (Uchiha) Sasuke, necessary in expressing what it's like to be a ninja."
15. The stunts in the "Live Spectacle NARUTO" (Narusute) are so difficult that Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) has texted his parents to apologise if he dies doing them.

Information about the goods for sale at the concert venue
(Source: KOKIA.com/blog, April 25, 2023)
2 days to go until my concert.
It’ll be my first big hall concert in a while in front of a live audience.
I’m not only excited, but my heart is racing.
I’m facing this day with a lot of preparations and full of emotions.
I’d like to convey those emotions to every person in my audience.
I’d like to talk about the items that are for sale at the concert hall.
I’ve been selling them online beforehand, so there is not really all that much.
I’ve also received many inquiries from people wondering if they could use their credit card, but here is your notice that it would be helpful if you would prepare cash money in advance if possible.
While we’re preparing to be able to accept credit cards, the matter is that I’m worried the terminal might not work properly if the internet connection isn’t good, and since there’s only one machine, it will take time... So, it’s very much appreciated if you’re prepared for cash exchange.
Thank you as always.

You know what I'm questioning for the bota musical- Is it going to be like the manga ( no additions) or have additions, like the double Charles or abberhank (which I really wish could be added since they have litteraly been in very musical). Plus on how the stage will be used. I just looked up on how the titanic musical sanked the ship, by a hydraulic pump.
Great questions.
They added Double Charles to the movie to lure a certain subset of female fans (and also fans of their respective seiyuu, no doubt) even though they did little to advance the plot. We can confirm that Hirose Yusuke will DEFINITELY NOT be able to return as Phipps for this musical, so it is unclear whether they’d recast Phipps or just straight up omit Double Charles and follow the manga instead. I actually lean towards a recast since without Double Charles, there seem to be too few people in the cast? And if they can squeeze them in Lycoris they can squeeze them on Campania as well.
Don’t know about Grey’s actor though. Yata should have time? But it remains to be seen whether he’d return for this role since he has had new focuses in his career since Lycoris 2015 ended.
I am almost certain AbberHanks will somehow manage to get on the ship lol because first of all, their stand-up routines have become an inseparable part of the show. People already EXPECT to see them, whatever the story is, and they even expect them to reference their old jokes. Second, they are crucially important in buying time for the main cast to change costumes. At least in the musicals, AbberHanks are actually more important than say Double Charles and other canon reoccurring characters.
As for the stage effects, I’d advice to check the resume of director Kodama Akiko, who started her career as a playwright/director in the prestigious Takarazuka Revue. Her most recent notable work include Live Spectacle: Naruto which has enjoyed great international success. She also directed Stage: Fairy Tail and was expected to direct the ill-fated Stage: Attack on Titan before the show was cancelled. From these titles, you should get a sense of where her expertise lies. Narusute is famous for its creative combination of hi-tech visualization and conventional theater effects, therefore I don’t think we should expect the ship split to look any less epic on stage than in animation. Kuromyu never disappoints.
On a related note, this also means director Mouri Nobuhiro will leave Kuromyu after 3 years directing Lycoris 2014-15 as well as Noah’s Ark Circus. Not only did he significantly upgrade the production scale of Kuromyu as a whole, he was also the person who gave crucial guidance to Furukawa Yuta when he took the stage as Sebastian for the first time. He was the one who encouraged Yun to go the “darker side”. So in a way, apart from Yun’s own exploration of the character, Director Mouri had a greater influence on his performance than Yana since she and Yuta never met in person during rehearsal.

LGBTQ Manga Review – Syrup: A Yuri Anthology Vol. 1
Tumblr media
Shakaijin Yuri, stories featuring love between adult women who have left school, is a well-established corner in the Japanese Yuri market. Over the past few months, the scene started to pick up its full force in the West. English audiences are experiencing new Shakaijin series, both contemporary like Still Sick and older such as The Conditions of Paradise. For me, there are few works so prolific and intrinsic to the Shakaijin boom as Syrup. In Japanese, the subtitle reads Shakaijin Yuri Anthology. While the English release drops the subgenre's label, the content remains the same, an anthology dedicated to nothing but Yuri love stories featuring adult women from some of the Yuri industries best. However, Syrup's focus on mature and workplace stories more than piqued my interest. However, readers will likely be disappointed with this inconsistent and often forgettable anthology that is just as sour as sweet.
Tumblr media
One of Syrup's main draws is its contributors. Some of the best in the Yuri world touched this manga, and even Western Yurijin will likely recognize a few of the names like Yukiko (Futaribeya), Itou Hachi (Kindred Spirits on the Roof), and of course Morinaga Milk (Girl Friends). It is always exciting to read a story from one of your favorites. Even I, who cares rather little for authorship, was happy to see Ohi Pikachi, who wrote the incredible Our Teachers are Dating, among the list. It also provides readers with a chance to familiarize themselves with unfamiliar creators like Amano Shuninta and Kurogane Ken, who grace the anthology with some of its best chapters.
Another benefit of having such a variety of contributors is the plethora of different art styles in the anthology. There is such a stark yet fun contrast between more mature or sensuous styles like Matsuzaki Natsumi and Ito Hachi's bubble moe characters. The manga spans almost every point between these two styles, and just flipping through the pages to look at the artwork can be a fun experience. Of course, some are more polished than others. Mochi_Au_Lait's simplistic and flat style stands as an unfortunate outlier among some other fabulous artists. However, their story, "The Cram School Teachers," is one of the funniest in the anthology. Not every story's aesthetics will suit all readers, but that is the point of a collection, to sample a wide array of talents. Fly's beautiful cover illustration wraps the fantastic art within, standing as a crown jewel of Yuri manga covers.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, the plot and characters are not nearly as enjoyable as the art. While a mixture of aesthetics can add to a work, different story styles often feel inconsistent. For this reason, I usually prefer collections of a single author's short stories, like Rouge Nagashiro's Eve and Eve and Morishima Akiko's The Conditions of Paradise. However, a unifying theme can often correct this issue. Sadly, a few too many of the stories seem to revel in the more "adult" allowances of adult characters and ironically created some of the most immature entries in the anthology.
Before diving too deep into the weeds of mediocrity, there are some chapters in Syrup worthy of highlight. Two of the best chapters, Shioya Teruko's "Promise" and Kurogane Kenn's "Rose Quartz" feature women in established relationships taking the next step in their relationship. Reading about these women celebrate their feelings for each other is wholesome, charming, and even sensual. The latter of the two stories is also one of the few to use adult content in a way that feels more mature. It clarifies the characters' love and attraction for each other, rather than just flashing a panel of exposed breasts for fanservice. It is great to see artists use their allowance to show a little more in profound ways while not letting it run away from them. It demonstrates admirable restraint and thoughtful writing that respects its characters.
Tumblr media
Other interesting chapters include "Mama X Mom," which is less about the sexual relationship between two women and focuses on the character's emotional bonds in a unique situation. Ito Hachi's "First Grown-Up Love" perhaps lives up to the Syrup title the most, as it is an adorably sweet and fluffy tale of first love at adulthood. As one of the longer stories, it also has a bit more time for subtly and, thus, it includes some of the stronger and more interesting characters.
Sadly, most of the stories in Syrup are incredibly mediocre. Telling a compelling narrative with interesting characters in such a brief form, in some cases as short as six pages, is a daunting task that most chapters fail to overcome. They are utterly dull and forgetful, with characters designed with little more than maybe a job and the fact that they are interested in a woman in mind. They leave little impression, and even in the moment of reading, one finds themselves tired and wishing for the passage to end. A few tales show some modicum of potential, like Kodama Naoko's "Daily Smile," but they often end before they can get going.
Tumblr media
A few dull chapters are acceptable, as tastes will vary, and many will enjoy some of the stories that left me utterly unenthused. However, where Syrup struggles are in its weak chapters. Some, like Yoshimura Kana's "Coward Queen," a confusing and offputting depiction of two women making a pornographic movie, and Matsuzaki Natsumi's "My Femme Fatale" revel far too much in displaying as much nudity as they can get away with before being labeled as porn. The former of these portray a lust for sadism that clashes with the rest of the primarily mundane anthology. It might even spoiler the next several chapters, as it is one of the first stories and leaves readers with immense displeasure.
There are some questionable attitudes towards boundaries and crossing lines, even outside the more salacious and exploitative stories. Depictions or descriptions of actions like staring at a woman's underwear or breasts, or awkwardly splurting out "I'm a virgin," are tossed out casually, often portrayed as romantic. Now, this manga is a work of fiction and can be enjoyed even with some more questionable aspects, as they usually are not deal breakers here. However, the dated attitudes feel like something out of an '80s comedy, not in a manga that, in all else, appears to at least attempt to hold an air of realism. This pervasive element at best makes an already struggling story worse, but it can add unpleasant notes to otherwise delightful offerings.
Tumblr media
There is no better example of potentially compelling work squandered by its unsavory elements than Morinaga Milks "Working with an Angel." It starts pretty well, introducing readers to an entertainment agency manager with a forbidden otaku friendship with a model. However, instead of taking a more intelligent or realistic approach of the two trying to keep their growing relationship secret or a heroic, "consequences be damned," declaration of love, the story turns sleazy. The model wants to show her naked body off to the manager as the latter admits that she spies on the models while they change. Off-putting is the most generous review of this final chapter.
While Syrup: A Yuri Anthology has a few bright offerings of sweet and compelling relationship between adult women, it is incredibly bogged down by forgettable and mediocre stories. Few stories can present more than a weak premise and characters best described as "female" within their short page count. More objectionable, with a few notable exceptions, Syrup muddles its attempts to show how grown-up Yuri can by mistaking boobs and fanservice for maturity. Yes, Shakaijin stories, tales of adult women can be sexy. In fact, they should be more than willing to describe inelegance and lust; after all, for many people, that is what love is. Still, too often, Syrup forgets the heart, affection, and emotion, substituting them for cheap, uninspired story beats and characters. There are some chapters worth readers' time, but unless you are a hardcore fan of a contributor, this is an easy skip
Tumblr media
It is challenging to award ratings for Syrup, as each story's merits vary. Some are a comfortable 8 or 9 and others a measly 2 or 3. However, the majority of the book was unobjectionable yet poorly constructed fluff, as respected in the scores below.
Ratings: Story – 5 Characters – 3 Art – 8 LGBTQ – 6 Sexual Content – 8 Final – 5

Note
Hello chibimyumi! I've been a fan of black butler for a few years now, and I really want to get into the plays. The thing is, I'm a moron who has no idea where to start. Do you have any tips for how beginners like me can get into them? Thank you!
Hello Anon!
Well, asking me is asking for bias since I am a blog literally started because of the Furukawa era Kuromyus, so........I recommend you start with the Furukawa era Kuromyus (≽▽≼;;)Before the Furukawa era was the Matsushita Era.
Okay okay... I’ll try to be a bit more nuanced.
Reasons to start with Furukawa Era:
Tumblr media
All stories are canon except a few minor changes for adaptation’s sake.
Furukawa’s Sebastian was declared above canon by Yana herself, and Editor Kuma can’t shut up about how much of a fanboy he is of Furukawa ever since.
The Ciels in these musicals are genuinely good child actors.
From 2016 on, TOHO (the most prestigious JP theatre that owns the literal Imperial Theatre aids them, so the quality is off the chart.
That  is not to say that it’s wrong to watch any Matsushita era musicals  though! It’s just that I personally don’t recommend it, the 2009, 2010  musical DVDs are out of production, so you’d have to start with 2013 and  2014.
Reasons to start with Matsushita Era:
You want to see the history of Kuromyu, where it all began.
You are a fan of Matsushita Yuya or other actors that only appear in those musicals.
You like BL-like shipping fanfics a lot, and the 2013 musical would be a feast then (though it’s full of canon-contradictions, plot-holes and homo- and transphobia, so you’ll have to be able to overlook that.)
Tumblr media
Furukawa Era Kuromyu Menu
The Furukawa era Kuromyus come in three musicals chronologically.
The Lycoris that Blazes the Earth 2015
NOAH’S ARK CIRCUS 2016
Tango on the Campania 2018
The Lycoris that Blazes the Earth is the stage adaptation of the Jack the Ripper arc, while the other two’s titles speak for themselves.
General Recommendation
If you are familiar with the manga itself already, there is no need to watch the Furukawa era kuromyus chronologically; I’d say, just start with your favourite arc among the three. I offer high quality English subtitles in exchange for proof of legal ownership of the DVD. This is my initiative to combat pirating of Japanese stage productions, because Japanese stage actors only get paid for their rehearsal labour depending on the DVD sales. That is why every time anybody asks me: “where can I watch Kuromyu” I’ll answer: “anywhere where your disc player and screen are.”
As the DVDs are quite expensive for universal standards, I recommend watching the PVs first.
Official PV Lycoris that Blazes the Earth 2015.
youtube
⏫Pros to starting with Lycoris:
It’s the first Furukawa Sebastian,  and you can see where he started.
At this stage Furukawa was declared ‘canon’ (not ‘above-canon’ yet). To Yana this was the first time she ever saw somebody doing her baby Sebastian justice.
Madam Red is simply AMAZING, you can’t miss that.
This was the first time - on Yana’s instructions - that Grell is officially portrayed as a transgender woman rather than a “gay-transvestite-laughing-stock”.
⏬Cons to starting with Lycoris:
The over-all quality is not as high as the following two (because TOHO didn’t step in yet), but it’s still above average for 2.5D. It’s NOT not your money’s worth, but it’s not ridiculously good either. It’s just that it’s not representative of the later two musicals’ quality. Many people who first and only watched 2015 said they hated Kuromyu, but then when they watched the later two they said: “wow amazing!”
Some songs are just...jarringly bad...
Official dress rehearsal NOAH’s ARK CIRCUS.
youtube
⏫Pros to starting with Circus:
Here Furukawa was declared ‘above-canon’ by Yana herself.
Furukawa really has grown as Sebas, and it’s clear as day.
Ciel is ridiculous. He’s played by the unanimously agreed-upon best so far, Uchikawa Reo.
TOHO steps in for the first time, and their influence is apparent.
Most of the music is a blast.
Joker... OH JOKER....!!!!  He’s even better than the manga. 10/10
Baron Kelvin, also even better than the manga. 10/10
There are actual circus-worthy performances
Dagger is played by 2016 actual world champion uni-cyclist Mitsuya Ryo.
Doll is absolutely heart-wrenchingly adorable.
⏬Cons to starting with Lycoris:
It is not chronological to the Furukawa Era Kuromyu.
It mightttt set your expectations for others a bit too high to start here.
DVD PV of Tango on the Campania.
youtube
⏫Pros to starting with Campania:
Here Furukawa rendered Yana and Editor Kuma speechless.
Young Uchikawa Reo polished his singing for Ciel, and now everything is perfect about him.
Furukawa and Uchikawa’s friendship which they built in 2016 really shows here.
TOHO turned their support up to 11.
The ensemble members (the zombies) are as much the stars as Sebas and Ciel are. They are mind-blowing.
Most (but not all) consider these songs the best.
Best directing so far (by the esteemed ex-Takarazuka director Kodama Akiko).
A portrayal of Grell as a competent transgender reaper asked requested by Yana herself. Yana admitted she did Grell wrong, and asked Uehara to do Grell justice in her stead.
⏬Cons to starting with Campania:
It is not chronological to the Furukawa Era Kuromyu.
It WILL set your expectations for others a bit too high to start here.

i live for josei manga! it seems like there are so many series that never get a release outside of japan tho. :( what are your favorites that you would recommend?
Okay, I made some lists in the past and I’m not taking any of those I had put there back, but I wanted to make a new list of recs for a while, so I guess it’s high time to do so.
All time recs:
Ikuemi Ryo’s works: my faves are Kiyoku Yawaku, Taiyou ga Miteiru, Principal, Anata no Koto Wa Sorehodo. But. Pretty Much everything by Ikuemi is worth checking.
Tamura Yumi’s works: the obvious 7seeds and Basara aside, I beg you, read her Neko Mix Genkitan Toraji. Also, she has some quality oneshots like this one.
Okazaki Mari’s works: & (I didn’t like it when I first tried to read it, but last year I opened it and it got to my heart), Tomodachi Ijou (second oneshot is something I reread to feel better) and Suppli (love from the first page I saw)
Nishi Keiko’s Otoko no Isshou (it has some things I don’t rly like reading about and yet it owns my heart) and Koi to Gunkan (sadly, translation was dropped)
Umino Chica’s Honey and clover (and 3gatsu no Lion)
Higashimura Akiko’s works: Kakukaku Shikajika (her best work imo) and Tokyo Tarareba Musume
Yazawa Ai’s works
Attention: I know that some of these go as shoujo or seinen but it’s just bc they were published in shoujo/seinen magazines which doesn’t change the fact that these are Josei Authors to me and frankly I don’t give a damn about how they are labeled so no need to tell me about it. Thank you very much.
Stories I mention less often:
Konishi Asuka’s Haru no Noroi
Watanuki Yoshiko’s Manatsu no Delta (a real jem imo, keeping an eye on this author from now)
Fumino Yuki’s Saraba Yoki Hi (I feel like when Ikuemi’s TGM ended the Universe tossed this one to me bc it knew I needed something else with the same lvl of pain and ability to make me rage and want to die while reading but not dropping the series)
Omoide no Toki Shuurishimasu by Tani Mizue (story) and Yamaguchi Izumi (art) - I read it years ago on otakumole, not sure if there’s     translation anywhere else.
Hozumi’s Usemono Yado
Ninomiya Tomoko’s Nodame Cantabile
Katsuta Bun’s Chikutaku Bonbon and Daddy Long Legs (oneshot collection)
Kazuno Tani’s works (Her oneshot In The Pocket is the right mix of slice     of life and fantasy-or-was-it-a-dream-like experience which I appreciate     so I want more of her works)
Ima Ichiko’s Hyakki Yakoushou (not romance, darker fantasy with  Japanese folklore creatures)
Kodama Yuki’s works (her stories are not my 100% faves, but I love the art and the nostalgic atmosphere)
Morimoto Kozueko’s Koudai-ke no Hitotobito (for the humour and The Poor Little Bjorn)
Yoshimura Akemi’s Bara no Tame ni (the main romance annoys me so much but this series overall does have good things so I’m putting it here)
Tanikawa Fumiko’s works (cute romance oneshots mostly)
Things that caught my attention that I still need to check out myself:
Ikebe Aoi’s works (Zassou-tachi yo Taishi o Idake)
Nanamaki Kanako’s works (Minato Machi Neko Machi)
Yoshinaga Fumi’s Ooku (an award winning thing, I’ve read the first volume and wanna continue bc it is interesting indeed but I can’t read it with a lighthearted attitude)
Shimura Takako’s Koiiji (I feel like I’ll be raging a lot while reading about unrequieted love and bad life decisions but I’ll check this one)
Opening a New Rubric: Things I Want Translated
Sugita Kei’s Chouyaku Hyakunin Isshu: Uta Koi. I yelled about it so much last year, so I want to mention it here too. The anime for Uta Koi is a rec too, but the manga has more stories and contents.
Okazaki Mari’s Suppli (I’m that “let me in” meme but “let me read it let me reaaaad” as this story got me caught with raws only - I knew it was over for me when I saw this page)
Kuramochi Fusako’s Tennen Kokekko and Tsuki no Pulse (in love with her style and wishing to get Tsuki for personal reasons)
Itoi Key’s Hana to Hoho (I loved the summary and Nishi Keiko’s comment on it, would love to read it one day)
Isoya Yuki’s Nagatan to Ao To (for the sake of Yearning and Food)
Iwamoto Nao’s works (they look so interesting and I love the style)
Nemu Yoko’s Sandaime Kusuriya Kyuubee (several oneshot collections of hers are translated, but I’m not really into them, and I want to read her longer series much more)
Ikuemi’s new series: Ichinichi Nikai and her adaptation of the novel Eine kleine Nachtmusik (looked through chinese raws > cried bc of Ikuemi’s powerful storytelling getting to me even past the language I don’t understand at all)
Anything by Katsuta Bun
Webtoons - I’m (sooo) not a big fan of this format but there are good josei-like stories in it so I decided to mention them too:
Yaggug’s Unlucky Mansion
Go Ara’s stories (some of them are pretty much pessimistic but ugh they hurt me and left a mark – yeah I’m looking at you, Teenager Younghwa)
Kim Ji Hyo’s Hans and Emily (I got such a good fairytale feeling from this one and loved the style)
Uni life stories like Cheese in the trap or Love Barometer (I enjoyed them pretty much in the past, though I haven’t finished both stories yet)
This is it. For now. I’m not sure what you expected from me when asking about josei recs, but I guess now you can see how much I love talking about it. :“)
Of course, the new josei suggestions (and asks about stories in general) are always welcome.

Got asked about romance recs too and finally threw together some I really like. This is a type of rec list i will definitely do follow ups on bc i have several romance oriented. In order:
Hagoromi Mishin by Yuki Kodama I read the bunko edition which also contain some one shots that were first compiled in the first volume of the Kodama Yuki Tanpenshuu. A short fairytale inspired kind of supernatural romance
Houseki Bako also by Yuki Kodama. I just like her one shots a lot, I’ve been reading a lot of one shot anthologies this year so I can safely say I think she’s high up in my ranking
Second Kiss and Boku ni Shinayo to Iukeredo both by Shiho Komiyuno. Unrelated stories but both the same type of short fluffy romance starring adults. Perfectly sweet and cute
Koimonogatari an anthology with stories from Nishi Keiko, Ebira Hiromi, Tani Kazuno, Ume Sato and Shiromizu Koyomi. I got pretty hooked on the Flowers anthology series from Shougakugan where they compiled several one shots in themed collections from their Flowers line of magazines. Will be pulling several one shots from these in an upcoming rec list bc there was some really good ones.
Kimi ni Todoke by Karuho Shiina. I’ve already talked about this in the past and I just think its neat and holds up :)
Tokyo Tarareba Girls by Akiko Higashimura. This is just here bc not all of you were following me when i was hawking this at every opportunity bc I love the chaos it brings and I’m gonna stop there bc talking about it i always try to make 50 different points at once, anyway this is the anti-romance of this list
Knight of the Ice by Yayoi Ogawa. This is one I’m following along with the english release which got a bit messed due to the pandemic but I just think the way Ogawa breaks a relationship down to the bear essentials is so good and the cast is so entertaining
Wake Up, Sleeping Beauty by Megumi Morino. More of a teen supernatural drama, mostly the type of series I recommend bc I wanna know what everyone else thought of it there’s so many ways to read this
Paradise Kiss by Ai Yazawa. Another one I’m gonna stop myself from rambling about bc it really is her best coming of age story
Rose of Versailles by Riyoko Ikeda. Read the manga, watch the anime doesn’t matter which just please experience it

Once upon a time, at least 11 billion years from now, there is a group of incredibly overpowered individuals who look over a vast kingdom. Each is given 30 degrees of the spherical kingdom to protect and look after.  From Left to Right they are: Lucky, Chinatsu, Akiko, Kaori, Kata, Jin, Hiro, Tsukiko, Kusari, Kodama, Ken, and Seiichi. This represents the earliest known picture of each of them. Some of these images were taken at very different times. Hiro and Lucky are just over 6 bill years old. Ken is 14,000-ish at most. They are, all of them, a cast of superpowered, teleporting, gremlin characters. I hate to love them as much as I do.  Not my most polished art. I just wanted to know what they looked like as kids. The follow-up will absolutely be what they look like as adults.
