What pisses me off the most is the fact that Netflix has cited low viewing numbers as one of the main reasons to cancel Lockwood and Co, but might I just point out that the viewing numbers (which were already great) might have been higher if Netflix hadn't developed a reputation for itself by cancelling literally every YA show in recent times. Not to mention the fact that most of the shows produced by Netflix, leave the endings open to another season or on a cliffhanger. As a result, people were quite literally terrified of starting a new show in this genre in the fear of it getting cancelled and just being left with NO conclusion and therefore no fucking closure for the audience. I hope it gets picked up by another network.

finally finished extended version of my L&Co designs, based on their book descriptions! it took months, but im happy with the results

Everyone always talks about Lockwood's later confession of 'whatever time I have, I want to spend it with you'; no one talks about how this reckless, reckless child turns to the girl who thinks she's protecting him by staying away and tells her the opposite.

Lucy, who notes in TEG that his place is always between them and the darkness, keeps him safer because he remembers he actually has a reason to live.

This is incoherent ravings at best, I'm aware, but do you get it? Do you really get it????

This case is a literary masterpiece. It's got everything: suspense, action, humor, the skull being a snarky little shit

the real difference between books!lucy and tv!lucy is that tv!lucy fainted when an impossibly terrifying ghost started talking to her by name but books!lucy absolutely would have passed the fuck out if she saw lockwood shirtless at any point in the screaming staircase

Not me crying over this scene again. When Lockwood gets blasted away from the well, he wakes up and thinks Lucy is Jess for a moment. But right before that, we have this scene.

What I love about it, is Lockwood is so resolute—after Jess, after his parents, he couldn't lose someone else. And we know from THB that Lucy reminds Lockwood a lot of Jess—I think that's partly why he's always so desperate to save Lucy (not to mention that's just who Lockwood is and that even here, Lockwood has early feelings for Lucy)—in some ways, she's the do-over he never got to have with Jessica.

I also think that in many ways, this is why Lockwood comes to love Lucy so quickly. Like the famous Fleabag quote—"With all the love I have for her. I don't know where to put it now," I honestly think that's how Lockwood felt after Jess died. He had all this love left and nowhere to put it.

And here comes Lucy, so brave, so talented, so alike to Jess in so many ways (though there are notable differences), and Lockwood just immediately latches on - like here is someone I can place this love onto.

And then eventually that familial love turns romantic as Lockwood and Lucy grow and mature.

It's just so stunning, and I love that Stroud has Lockwood think Lucy is Jess several times in the earlier books, because of this.

Like "Portland Row is always open for business"? "Drop by any time"? "It's your home too, after all"?

👻Lockwood and co, (the adaptation based on the books by Johnathan stroud) is a new show on Netflix and has all of the things I love about Percy Jackson, it feels like another home.

👻The show actually does the books justice (which you know is rare and should be appreciated) and it’s one of Ricks fav series!!!

I hope you’ll consider giving it a go! It might help to pass the time we need to wait for Percy J to be released🥲. You won’t regret it…

the way these few lines give the title name a whole new meaning

Forgive my badly done gifs and their velocity

I just wanna talk about the little detail at the beginning of Episode 6, where Carver's body has been removed and the place has been sanitized.

And yet, Lockwood can still see the death glow,

signifying how he must also be able to see any other such death glows and further signs of death throughout the house due to well..the deaths of his family.

He then proceeds to lookup at the room on the landing which most likely holds the most bright death glows and such.

Imagine living so long in such a place full of memories when you are burdened by the ability (curse) to watch these death glows every fucking day! A daily reminder of what used to be and what he used to have..

I feel like George and Lucy helped alot with this simply by their arrival. I like to believe that they turned this haunted house once again into a HOME for Lockwood 🥺
