yesterday was my first day getting back on my stationary bike since thanksgiving. manifesting my ability to do it again (aka ingesting thc)
#if you have a hard time with exercise because of physical disability and lack of control of muscle tension#obviously do your own research and consult a doctor if you feel the need to before you even try#thc might help you work your way back into (or into for the first time!) a regular exercise routine#the webmd interaction checker does include marijuana as a drug that can be assessed! always check#smoking is processed through your lungs which take damage hard. edibles are processed through your liver#which regenerates faster than thc edibles damage it. in case that matters to anyone#that's why i take edibles anyway. also i hate smoking#anyway! taking an edible and waiting half an hour before you start your workout means that your high will be kicking in about the time#you get finished with your workout - exercise makes you metabolize thc faster#you also get to combine thc high with your after workout happy chemicals and#the dopamine boost will bring your brain to associate physical exertion with feeling Good#which is good! i use thc for muscle tension from ptsd and other unrelated chronic pain#this has been your thc psa of the day#mer rambles

i’ve noticed this weird sentiment of y’all using feyre’s abuse at rhysand’s hand as a trump card against her and to only highlight how much “better” she had it with tamlin, when she was well within her right to not want to go back to spring. it is unreasonable to have wanted her to act otherwise because spring at that moment was not a safe option for her and she had nowhere else to stay but night

I’m always baffled when I find someone doing something strange and bizarre and the reaction of those around me is not delight but repulsion.
There’s a guy who dresses up like George Washington and goes skiing. He is FULLY committed to the bit. It’s HILARIOUS, and I love it. I can’t show it to ANYONE I know IRL because their reaction would be “Oh… kaaaaaay… that’s weird.”
Like, where is your sense of whimsy!!!! Where is your creativity and imagination!!! Life is made for things like this!!! Life is made for playing with the chaos!!!! Where is your sense of FUN!!! WHERE IS YOUR SENSE OF FUN!!!!

if you were a weapon, (and you are one now. i’ve made you into one just by reading this) what kind of weapon would you be?
#i’m inclined to say an axe but i think that’s mostly a perception i put forth#big loud swung heavily and devastating on impact.#in truth i prefer to move a bit more subtly but i think i lack the grace of a dagger or a rapier but i like to think i have their sharpness#maybe a spear or a halberd? something that keeps things as far away as possible and becomes largely ineffectual once yoyre past the defenses#maybe something longer ranged altogether.#hard to say. i’ll be thinking about it forever#anyway fun little exercise

tbh i don't understand the recent(?) hyperfocus(?) on maximizing protein content in your meal planning/dieting/whatever. like i watch a lot of cooking content and i feel like as of late a huge amount of online/social media cooking content is like, recipes that are all about maximizing the amount of protein you can cram into a single meal. crumble tofu and add it to your veggie stir fry, put greek yogurt in your smoothies, prep and freeze breakfast burritos made of sausage egg and cheese and eat nothing else all week. and while i don't think it's bad per se i do think it's a little strange to be acting like this is new and revolutionary. like that's just...how i cook and eat normally? well not the burritos thing but like a bowl of yogurt and granola for a breakfast or snack is not particularly groundbreaking right
#maybe it's a me thing? do other people really lack protein in their diet enough that they need to make a conscious effort to include it?#or is this yet another insufferable trend in diet/exercise culture. eat more x and less x to gain/lose muscle/weight/happiness whatever.#idk#i made pasta tonight with ground pork and cheese and zucchini. it was good#sasha speaks

#looked like it's a bot repost too so it's been up there a few times#the funny thing was that just before i saw this#i'd just gotten home and i was making myself some coffee#and i was pondering my regular diet a bit because i've been lacking energy a bit in general#(feels like if i exercise that day no matter what i eat i end up in a deficit that just ruins the following day completely so to speak)#and was wondering if i might have inadvertently eliminated sugar and/or fat a little bit too completely from it#so i look at my cup and remembered “wasn't there some kind of coffee with butter in it” or whatever#and then i also remembered “oh yeah and there was some lunatic who put olive oil in iced coffee too wasn't there”#then i sit down and go on reddit and#womp

Well, vet couldn’t feel anything concerning, but he is very tight muscle wise on the leg of concern. He has two more weeks mandated rest from high octane activities, some anti inflammatory meds, and a schedule of daily stretching and massage. We think he may have just pulled something.

the thing abt mental illness that sucks is. the stuff that people tell you makes it better doesn't actually always make it better in the moment. and it's hard when ur low energy but i think a lot of people get this idea of "it doesn't help so i'm not going to do it" but sometimes you gotta reframe it and see it as like. okay this doesn't make it better but it's also not going to make it worse. like washing your face might not make you feel better but it also won't make it worse. gentle exercise won't necessarily make you feel but it won't make you feel worse. going outside isn't going to fix anything but it also won't make it worse. trying to see them as neutral things rather than a magic cure. and the thing is over time when these things build up and it becomes routine, it DOES make it better. but it takes time and consistency. in the meantime though it won't make it worse.
#obviously easier said than done#aware i am on the Lack Of Critical Thinking website so don't be taking this as ableism i have chronic illness too 😭#but after. 7 years of having depression with ups and downs. it's so frustrating to hear the same advice#where ppl are like just exercise just eat healthy just go outside etc#because those things do not cure depression. BUT. when you're able to do those things regularly it makes a huge difference#it's just not an immediate solution so it doesn't FEEL like it's Making It Better#but having created a routine where i'm doing skincare and going to the gym most days it has improved my mental health SO much#but it took MONTHS of that being a regular routine before it made a difference#and no it is not easy. especially if you struggle with fatigue etc#but when you do enough small things that Don't Make It Worse. eventually it starts to help make it better#and etc
