Parody of 1971 PBS ident, but with a Smurf icon in place of the 'Everyman' P-Head (along with the B being white and the S being the same color as the Smurf icon). To be clear, I only made this for fun. Also included is an animated version of the logo parody, which can be viewed on Google Drive by clicking on the link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nLcsODpKx5RqwJCszrdZwICTnfdUMK7U/view?usp=drive_link

Well, it's official. The new series is definitely superior to the 1980s series. The stories are better written, the action and humor are more fast paced and the villians are no longer cartoonishly evil (inspiration taken from Boris and Natasha) as the Smurfs are no longer as easygoing and friendly, always happy and always singing. Brainy Smurf is a lot less egocentric than his eighties counterpart and has sympathy for others. Clumsy and Dopey Smurf are now shown as separate characters. Same goes for Greedy, Chef and Baker. The Smurfettes from the Lost Village movie make their return, as a response of the sexism controversy to the previous series. While the 1980s show felt more like typical Saturday Morning fare with original characters sandwiched in to help boost ratings, the 2021 series is more along the lines of modern animated shows (like MLP: FiM). But it will still premiere on Nickelodeon in September next month.

I've always wanted to draw Basketball Player Smurf as a human. His character is based on most famous African-American basketball players, namely Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

NC: First off, the Smurfs aren't funny. They're boring, cringeworthy and annoying, but they're certainly not funny. In fact, the writing of the 1980s show is so poor, you almost wish that the Smurfs from the recent 2021 series could sit there and watch it.
80s Papa Smurf: (angry) I warned you fuzzles were trouble!
(2021 Papa Smurf just stands there, looking unamused.)
80s Smurfette: (hysterically miserable) I can't go on, Papa Smurf! I just can't!
(2021 Smurfette also stands there, looking unamused.)
80s Brainy Smurf: (taunting) I was right! I was right!
2021 Brainy Smurf: (long pause, then sarcastically laughs) Very funny. (Continues to sarcastically laugh, then stops)

RETRO TIME! A Smurf goes through a string of surrealistic gags in a Fleischer-style cartoon in the early 30s. The sketches are in black and white to take advantage of this treatment.

Daffy Duck (alongside Bugs Bunny and Porky Pig) witnessed the horror of watching the terribly unfunny ending to "Small-Minded Smurfs", an episode from the infamous time-traveling ninth season of The Smurfs. After Brainy's head is restored to normal, you'd think he would apologize to Clumsy for blaming him at the beginning and realize that Pungo of the Headhunters shrunk his head. Right? Not exactly. Instead, he annoyingly makes a long speech about his own intelligence and being better than any Smurf, until his head is shrunken again by Chimpy in a comedic fashion. And to top it all off, he was an innocent victim for most of the episode. It's like the writers chickened out on Brainy being sympathetic after realizing his mistake in the beginning. How can either of you consider this scene funny? Screenshot of reaction taken from TTA episode, "Animaniacs!" (not to be confused with the show itself) The Smurfs © Peyo/IMPS/Lafig Belgium, S.A.
