Happy Larriversary to you, you world creators, you believers in love and light and soulmates. Watching two people with insecurities and need and hurt turn towards the light in each other and glow is truly an honor to witness.

Some people say it is a love for the ages that cannot be had by mere mortals. But that isn't what I see.

I see two embattled angels, who created something only because they chose to be so open.

All their hope, pain, giddiness, fascination, affection, admiration, lust, and their need and insecurities and messiness. They shared it. Again and again. It is the choosing of vulnerability that comes first, that makes the rest possible.

There is a lesson in there. How many of us have dared to look at our object of affection on camera with naked longing and heartwrenching fondness? How many of us have wrung our souls out to give away our story in songs for millions of people, or sung to our lover on stage with our heart in our eyes, or listened so intently to everything they say? Maybe if more of us did, the world could crack open and pour out a benediction of love for us, too. Maybe together we could change the world.

I had a love like that, once. Where everything was golden and the first moment I saw them I couldn't stop taking pictures they were so beautiful and literal fireworks went off in the sky when they touched my hand at dinner and I spent my time being so fucking thrilled to find something little to do to please them. So connected that I dreamed vividly of secret things that happened in their childhood before I ever really knew them. I still wear their necklace every day, even though we haven't spoken in 7 years.

Losing them was a special kind of hell, and one I barely survived. Sometimes I'm afraid the cost of surviving was too high, as I became a different person, a harder one, and more brittle. And I am rarely truly seen anymore. Even so, I would not give up the experience for any price.

My point, and I do have one, is that watching Harry and Louis hurt, go through pain and the kind of loss that scorches the earth, and still be joyful, triumphant, golden, raw, shattered, and vulnerable is breathtakingly inspiring.

Every time I hear them or see them or read about how they are making the world work for them, I am so fucking proud. And hopeful.

The Larry fandom is divided...

Okay so I have noticed some things.. We have two ideas of how Lou and Harry met but Im not too sure which is the more widely accepted theory

1. Lou and Harry met in the bathroom and Lou peed on Harold's shoe.

2. They were boy/friends before x factor from the good amount of proof (tweets, pictures, battle of the bands)

Which is it cos personally I want to believe that they met before because so much adds up. It's why Louis got Harry's sweater before his audition. Larry said that they met before Xfactor - in the bathroom but that could be another modest thing to cover up the boyfriend thing.

Didn't you think you were just gonna meet someone, fall in love, and that'd be it??

For the most part that’s little more than a pipe dream. Because people don’t just meet and then fall in love, just like that. 

And yet, here we are. Ten years later. Still here for the love story that has continued to captivate millions and waged on, defying every odd, all semblance of rationality. For the kind of love that is like a supernova, magnificent and electrifying, everyone craves it, and yet none of us will ever experience love of that magnitude. I’ve always thought the love Harry and Louis have for each other is otherworldly. I have never seen anything like it, never seen two people so clearly attuned to each other, two people who were so evidently going to be brought together by some unidentifiable cosmic force that would mean they would always end up together. Always soulmates. They had an expedited love story that literally no one else ever experiences. Soon after they met, it was obvious that was it. It was always supposed to be Harry and Louis. It’s funny, isn’t it? Any other time I’d say two people of that age would never make it. Because they wouldn’t. And yet, I have never had a single doubt in my mind that they wouldn’t make it. 

Anyway. Here’s to Haz and Lou. May they reign victorious and conquer the world with the same impetuous lack of inhibition with which they love one another, may they be recklessly at liberty to show the whole world the unadulterated magnificence of their love that knows no bounds, love that is of cosmic proportions, love that has been absurdly tenacious in spite of all the odds not being in their favour, love that has always been inexplicably sonorous and profound, love that is bulletproof, unstoppable, everlasting. Happy ten years to my dads!! I will always be on your sides.

I’m a little too tired to do the research myself, but I’m not 100% sure where genius gets it’s lyrics. They may be fan generated, in which case someone is being cute by saying it would be released on September 28th (since that’s the larriversary).

If anyone knows for sure, chime in. I need sleep. 😆
