mosquito season is here and im happy to report that my new eating habits also transformed the way my body responds to mosquito bites. i used to have a huge almost painful blister reaction (google calls it "skeeter syndrome"?), its now the size of a little pimple and itches very little.

Heading into the desert sun, I tail an enthusiastic storm. Tires zing on sizzling pavement, slash through puddles on the rain-darkened highway,

Like a guardian flanking the road to El Paso, a muscular mountain heaves up, sable master of the horizon, his head silvered by rayed spotlights streaming through cracked charcoal clouds like lake water breaching a dam.

I stop to relish the sudden chill, feel retreating thunder rumbling my bones, hear breezes sliding over damp sand, greedy for its moisture.

I sniff the air like an elegant lady shopping for perfume, as pungent desert sage, rain-released, drifts like piñon smoke, like incense, sends shivers drug-like through my skin.

I gulp the rare essence, reluctant to leave, store expansive breaths in my lungs like treasure. The fragrant air scolds, reminds me gently I’ve been gone too long—far too long.

I know that there are many who already said this theory (about Lif being future Alfonse) from the last chapter, but I still have so many feels!!! THE TRAILER WAS FORESHADOWING ALL ALONG!!!

But foreshadowing done in a twist. What we saw in the Book 3 trailer wasn’t what was gonna come, but what already did happen, but we just didn’t know about it yet!! I think it was a clever way to use the trailer instead of just having no meaning, like the Book 2 one. IT HAD MEANING! And we get to see what happened in the other world instead of being told about it.

Also this place?

I thought that that was the land of the dead, at first. But after these lasttwo chapters, I think that this is the dead Askr instead, right after they tried to kill Hel.

Eir being killed over and over again might be punishment for being a traitor to He, and for turning her weapon against her own mother. Sure, killing Eir more gave Hel more power, but I think there’s more to it than that.

I honestly have no idea how this Book is gonna end, but I AM EXCITED TO FIND OUT! How will they be free from Hel?!?! HHHHHHHHHHHHHH

The last two months have been amazing, and that's all thanks to you guys. I have never, in my entire life, had so much positivity in response to the things I have created. And don't get me wrong, I've been writing on this site and others for close to 8 years (maybe more), and I've gotten more feedback in general here over the lasttwo months than I could have ever dreamed of having with anything else.

I'm almost overwhelmed, which is sort of silly. I'm talking like I'm famous or something, but really I've just had one mildly viral post. But people have sent me messages and asks and reblogs and comments... things I've never had before, and I'm just so touched that people think that the things I've created are worth the amount of time people spend looking at them. I'm actually fairly confident at least one person has used my Florida Man monster block in a game, and that's crazy to me.

I have a natural inclination to paranoia, and my initial response to this can honestly be summed up with:

But not least of all: thank you. Thank you all so much. I know I have more followers now than ive ever had, and not all of you are waving flags in the bleachers like proud soccer moms... but there are a handful of you that I genuinely treasure for your consistent feedback and interest. I don't have a shortage of love in my life, but because of your kindness and feedback I finally feel like I'm not wasting my time every day when I sit down to write. I dont feel guilty for creating any more. So thank you all, thank you a million times.

I love you guys, even the ones that get snarky with me and tell me I don't know what im doing. Especially you guys. Your passion for content is contagious.
